HECTOR BELLERIN wants Arsenal to terminate his contract and allow him to leave for nothing. The 27-year-old Spanish international does not figure in Mikel Arteta’s plans but still has 12 months remaining on his £110,000-a-week deal.

He is keen to return to Real Betis after his successful season on loan with his boyhood club last season.
And former club Barcelona are also monitoring his situation after failing to secure a deal with Chelsea for right-back Cesar Azpilicueta.
But both Spanish clubs are struggling to balance their books and insist they cannot afford to pay a fee for Bellerin.
And with just two weeks of the transfer window remaining, Arsenal’s longest-serving current player fears he could be stuck in limbo.

So now his representatives are in talks with Arsenal in a bid to break the deadlock.
And they are hoping that the prospect of wiping £5.7million off their annual wage bill will be enough to convince the club to let him go.
Bellerin, who joined Arsenal from Barcelona’s academy in 2011, has seen how Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Mesut Ozil, Shkodran Mustafi and Sead Kolasinac have all been paid to leave the Emirates in the past two years.
But he would be prepared to walk away without a penny if it helps him to secure a return to Spain.

Arsenal, though, are already smarting after being forced to slash their asking price to get rid of Lucas Torreira, Bernd Leno and Pablo Mari as part of Arteta’s summer clear-out.
And at the moment they are still holding out for some kind of transfer fee, even if it is nowhere near the £18million they were demanding for the player last summer.
Yet both Betis and Barcelona are prepared to wait until transfer deadline day on September 1, convinced that Arsenal will eventually allow Bellerin to leave as a free agent rather than continuing to pay him without ever playing him. More

They were linked with making a swoop for the £25million-rated Ramos this week after initial talks following his impressive performance against Eddie Howe’s side in pre-season.

However, Ramos played down any suggestions of a summer move by committing himself to the club he joined aged 12 and came through the ranks.

According to the Sunday Times, initial talks between the player and the French side were positive.
As a result, PSG plan to table a mega contract for Rashford before the transfer window closes on September 1.
And they will do their best to land the man who knocked them out of the Champions League with a 94th-minute penalty in 2019.
The report adds new PSG sporting director Luis Campos reckons Rashford’s progression has been halted by the inconsistency at Old Trafford.

Rashford, 24, has already played under five managers since bursting on to the scene in February 2016.
The 46-cap Three Lions man has been deployed across the front line but has failed to nail down a set position.
Campos – who has been credited for much of the recruitment success at Monaco and Lille in recent years – said in January 2021: “Manchester United has always been one of the best academies in the world.
“Rashford is one of the best players in the world.”

His struggles in front of goal have coincided with the Red Devils’ recent woes, scoring just eight Premier League goals since the start of 2021.
Rashford, who has not featured at all for England since the Euro 2020 final, played the full 90 minutes of Saturday’s 4-0 humiliation at Brentford.
United may be in disarray and cannot offer Champions League football like PSG.
But they are determined not to sell one of their star assets – valued at a whopping £120million – and plan to extend his contract beyond next summer.
    ‘PART OF OUR PLANS’
Boss Erik ten Hag said: “He’s really important, you have seen from the first day I’m here, I’m really happy with him.
“I don’t want to lose him, he’s definitely in our plans at Manchester United.”
By comparison, his counterpart at the Parc des Princes confirmed his side want another attacker to add to Mbappe, Neymar and Lionel Messi with Mauro Icardi not wanted.
Christophe Galtier admitted: “We wish the arrival of a new striker.
“With a very busy calendar until November 13, plus the World Cup, obviously we wish this arrival.

“I know that the club will not take and pile up a player, it must be a real added value and the club is working in this direction.

The Canada international, 21, started his career in MLS with Vancouver Whitecaps before joining the German giants in 2018.
Davies has won four German Bundesliga titles and a Champions League with Bayern.
Heath, 61, thinks the perception is changing as standards in MLS rocket up but says there are plenty of other players Prem clubs should be looking at.
Heath, manager of MLS side Minnesota United, said: “I remember asking four or five clubs in England to take a look at Alphonso Davies.

“The response I got was ‘I’m not so sure, he plays in the MLS’.
“They could have got him for £2million but they wouldn’t buy him now for £100million.
“I think the perception is changing, but it’s changing slowly. There is still a lot of talent in the States that is flying under the radar of clubs in Europe.”
Who else should clubs be taking a punt on, then?

Reports suggest the Gunners have tabled a £33m bid for the winger.
The North Londoners were handed a huge pursuit in the race for Pino after Villarreal boss Unai Emery admitted they might have to sell him if the right bid comes along.
Pino would be a welcome addition to Arsenal’s new-look attack, spearheaded by Gabriel Jesus who scored a brace against Leicester City as the Gunners clinched their second win of the season.
Now fans reckon Edu’s en route to Spain to finalise the deal for Pino.

Edu’s already made it clear that Arsenal are still intent on bringing in more players before the transfer window closes.
It was thought the Gunners were keen on recruiting Leicester City ace Youri Tielemans this summer.
But fresh reports claim they may be willing to wait until next summer to sign the Belgium international on a free transfer. More

‘Put them on notice’ – Man Utd legend Howard BLASTS flops after Brentford thrashing and says Ten Hag’s ‘had enough time’

ERIK TEN HAG has had enough time to whip Manchester United into shape throughout the pre-season, according to club legend Tim Howard. The Dutchman’s had a dismal start to life in the Premier League with two losses in as many games.

United followed up a 2-1 loss to Brighton with a 4-0 defeat to Brentford on Saturday.
And Howard, who played for the Red Devils from 2003 – 07, places the blame solely at Ten Hag’s feet for the mess at United.
Pundits have urged fans to give Ten Hag enough time to turn things around at the club.
But Howard isn’t buying it, as he feels the ex-Ajax boss has had ample amounts before the season got underway to get used to the squad.

Howard was discussing United’s defeat to Brentford with Robbie Earle who labelled the Old Trafford outfit a “mess.”
Whilst reiterating Earle’s view on NBC, via the Daily Mail, Howard raged: “Well said Robbie, I couldn’t agree more. The manager has had enough time.
“He’s had pre-season, a couple of games and he’s had time to work with his team.
“We don’t really see anything different from a tactical standpoint than we saw last year.”

The Red Devils were down 4-0 at half-time to Brentford, and Howard would’ve liked Ten Hag to show some ingenuity in order to try and change things around.
He added: “I know he needs time but then again in this particular game, yes, I would’ve liked to have seen someone hooked in the middle of the first half whether it be a centre half or a midfielder.
“Make a change, let everybody know, put them on notice.”
But time may already be up for Ten Hag if the bookies’ odds are anything to go by.
He’s now been made the third-favourite for the chop following the Brentford game. More
