    Nottingham Forest ‘agree £44.5m transfer deal with Wolves to sign Morgan Gibbs-White with medical this afternoon’

    NOTTINGHAM FOREST have agreed a deal with Wolves to sign Morgan Gibbs-White for £44.5million. Gibbs-White will undergo his medical ahead of the move this afternoon.

    The 22-year-old has started both Premier League games for Wolves this season.
    According to The Athletic, Forest had a £35m bid rejected earlier this month before submitting a new offer worth £44.5m including add-ons.
    Gibbs-White graduated through the Wolves academy and has operated in and around the first team for two years.
    He has previously been on loan to Swansea and Sheffield United to earn more game time.

    Forest completed a triple swoop for Atalanta’s Remo Freuler, Watford forward Emmanuel Dennis and former West Ham and Crystal Palace man Cheikhou Kouyate earlier this week.
    But Steve Cooper’s side have not been intent to rest on their laurels, and have pressed on with trying to sign even more players.

    Gibbs-White is the latest hurdle to fall in this regard, and the England Under-21 ace is will complete a move to the City Ground subject to a medical.
    Cooper is familiar with Gibbs-White, having managed him when England won the Under-17 World Cup in 2017 and while he was on loan at Swansea.

    Everton also made an approach for Gibbs-White earlier in the summer but saw a £20m offer rejected.
    The move means Forest will have now made a whopping 16 signings so far.
    The club had already spent more than £100m on new talent, but the deal for Gibbs-White will take their spending close to £150m.
    Astonishingly, Forest may not even be done there, with reports linking them with moves for Brighton’s Neal Maupay, former Arsenal target Houssem Aouar and Frankfurt midfielder Djibril Sow.

    Forest claimed their first win of the season after a 1-0 victory against West Ham in their first home game in the Premier League for 23 years.
    Previous record-signing Taiwo Awoniyi netted a scrappy goal, while heroics from Manchester United loanee Dean Henderson – including saving a Declan Rice penalty – ensured Forest kept a clean sheet. More

    The transfer would see him return to London, while also presenting him with an opportunity to play in the Champions League for the first time since his Borussia Dortmund days.

    The Ivorian’s agent was allegedly spotted at Nice’s stadium over the weekend as he looks to secure a move for his client.
    Pepe, 27, has failed to reach his potential consistently at the Gunners following a massive club record £72million transfer from Lille back in 2019.
    Back then he came off the back of a sensational season in Ligue 1 netting 22 times.
    But Pepe has been unable to replicate that level of success in the Premier League.

    He has scored 27 goals in 112 games and is now firmly second choice behind Bukayo Saka.
    With minutes restricted and him supposedly on sizeable wages, Mikel Arteta has been desperate to offload him this summer.

    PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN have joined Barcelona in the race to sign Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva, according to reports.Barcelona have been pushing to sign the Portuguese playmaker, 28, since last summer, but the club’s financial situation has always prevented a deal from being completed.

    The cash-strapped Catalan giants are now attempting to fund a bid by offloading a number of first team players including Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Sergino Dest, Memphis Depay and Frenkie de Jong.
    But, while club chiefs are desperately attempting to gather enough money for a suitable offer, PSG are preparing to swoop in and make a bid of their own.
    According to The Times, the Ligue 1 champions are working on a deal to sign Silva from Man City.
    PSG are understood to be willing to pay £59million for the midfielder, who has already hinted at a move away.

    The Parisians are confident that City will accept the offer and also believe that there will be no issues surrounding personal terms.
    Silva has been a first team regular in Pep Guardiola’s squad since joining Man City five years ago.

    In 252 appearances for the club he’s scored 48 goals and assisted 50.

    Newcastle set to launch improved Joao Pedro transfer bid after failed £20m offer as Watford hold out on £35m

    NEWCASTLE are preparing to increase their bid for Watford striker Joao Pedro.The Championship club insist the Magpies’ initial £20million bid is nowhere near their valuation.

    Hornets boss Rob Edwards has hinted they are ready to sell Pedro with him rated at around £35million.
    Newcastle saw an opening move for the 20-year-old rejected but hope a second offer will bring them to the negotiating table.
    Edwards said: “The bid that has come in is not anywhere near the level we’d expect it to be for him.
    “If anything else was to come in again, then we’ll sit down and talk about it as a club and as a board.”

    The youngster burst onto the scene in his homeland of Brazil with Fluminense scoring seven goals in 28 games as a teenager.
    He earned a move to Watford where he has netted 14 times in 78 appearances.

    Talks with Keita over an extension have reportedly stalled, but the Reds are adamant that they don’t want to sell him this month.
    According to the Mail, Liverpool remain “hopeful” that they can convince Keita to pen an extension.
    The Guinean may decide to leave for more regular football after slipping down the pecking order at Anfield.
    Keita’s Liverpool stint has been blighted by injuries, although fitness was less of an issue last term.

    He missed the Reds’ opening day 2-2 draw at Fulham with illness this time around, however, and saw his boss Jurgen Klopp turn to Harvey Elliott and Fabio Carvalho ahead of him in the subsequent match against Crystal Palace.

    Liverpool have explored potential replacements, but Klopp is reluctant to bring in a new midfielder this summer.
