The pair are still great friends after working together at Borussia Dortmund.
Yet despite only joining Barcelona on a free transfer from Arsenal earlier this year, Chelsea will have to cough up £25m for the hitman.

Tuchel would also like a new midfielder, and Frenkie de Jong could now be set to swap Barcelona for London.
How Chelsea could end up looking after another spending spree
The midfielder requires around £14m of unpaid wages to be handed over by his new side.
But the transfer fee alone for De Jong comes to £63m.
Even so, the Dutchman’s versatility in midfield makes him an ideal anchorman or pivot player in Tuchel’s system.
Finally, Chelsea are targeting a winger after missing out on Raphinha.
And Everton’s Anthony Gordon has been the subject of a failed £40m.

He continued: “Playing for and being guided by Pep and his coaches is going to be very special.
“I’ve heard so much about the City fans and how passionate they are, so I can’t wait to get started and to try and help the Club achieve even more.”

Gomez revealed he had a David Silva No21 shirt growing up – the same kit number he has taking after signing for the club.
He told Man City’s website: “Since we were kids, my brother really liked Manchester City. He passed me the like for Manchester City.
“When he went on a school trip to London, I asked him to buy me the Manchester City shirt with the name and number of David Silva. At that time, I was wearing the number 21 too.
“He was one of my favourite players in that position because when I was a kid I used to play in Silva’s position. That’s the story of the shirt and I have kept it well since.” More
