Arsenal transfer blow as Gunners ‘have NO chance’ of signing Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic in January swoop

JUVENTUS striker Dusan Vlahovic will NOT be joining Arsenal in January after rumours of a reported swoop. That is the view of transfer guru Fabrizio Romano who has had his say on the Gunners’ interest in the 22-year-old.
Arsenal have been told they have NO chance of signing Juventus striker Dusan VlahovicCredit: AFP
Mikel Arteta was desperate to bring the Serbian star to the Emirates in last season’s winter window, but the player opted to join the Old Lady instead.
And Vlahovic then opened up on snubbing the North London outfit where he insisted he never entertained the thought of signing for Arsenal.
Vlahovic banged in nine goals for Juve in the second half of the 2021-22 campaign, but he has struggled for form this term with Massimilano Allegri’s men eighth in Serie A.
This has led to speculation that Arsenal could reignite their interest in the centre-forward in a double raid with his team-mate Fabio Miretti also on their radar.
    READ MORE ON ARSENAL
But Italian reporter Romano has poured cold water over any potential deal for Vlahovic, insisting there hasn’t been any contact between the two clubs.
Speaking in his column for CaughtOffside, he said: “At the moment there’s absolutely nothing between Dusan Vlahovic and Arsenal.
“We can’t predict the future but as of now there’s not even a direct contact.
“Vlahovic is key player for Juventus and they invested €75m [£67m] plus add-ons for him, so it’s extremely unlikely.

“He was great last season with Juventus, this year all the players are not performing.
“So I don’t think it’s Vlahovic’s fault that he’s not yet performed at his very best.”
In eight games so far this season, the ex-Partizan Belgrace ace has banged in four goals.
But he hasn’t got on the score sheet in his last four matches in all competitions. More

Arsenal eye up Mudryk transfer alternative in Alex Baena with three Premier League rivals also keen on Villarreal winger

ARSENAL are reportedly battling three Premier League rivals for Alex Baena after identifying the Villarreal winger as a possible alternative to Mykhaylo Mudryk. The Gunners have been heavily linked with a swoop for Shakhtar Donestk star Mudryk after failing to secure his services in the summer.
Villarreal winger Alex Baena is claimed to be attracting interest from ArsenalCredit: Getty
It has been claimed that Arsenal deemed the 21-year-old as too expensive, with Fabrizio Romano stating Shakhtar have slapped a £44.6million asking price on him.
But it has been rumoured that the North London outfit remain keen on the Ukraine international ahead of a possible transfer in January.
However, Sport have declared that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is keeping tabs on his Spanish compatriot Baena after his stunning start to the season.
Back from his loan at Girona, Baena, 21, is Villarreal’s top scorer with six goals in ten games in all competitions, while he has also chipped in with two assists.

His stats are even more impressive considering he is yet to start in LaLiga this term, with his three top-flight goals all coming off the bench.
Averaging a goal every 63 minutes, only Barcelona marksman Robert Lewandowski boasts better scoring statistics so far this term.
Sport have claimed that his dazzling displays have attracted the attention of Arsenal, who know he will cost considerably less than Mudryk.
The Yellow Submarine academy graduate is available for £31m due to his release clause in his contract.

But it’s not just Arsenal that are said to be in the hunt for Baena, with Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool also all admirers of the youngster.
Villarreal are desperate to avoid losing the player, and are planning to open talks to extend his stay beyond 2025.
Baena isn’t the only Villarreal winger that Arsenal have looked at, with Yeremy Pino a reported target during the recent transfer window.
Boss Unai Emery even declared that the 19-year-old could be moved on, but he remained in Castellon where he has featured in all six LaLiga matches. More

Federico Valverde reveals ‘hands were shook’ on shock £2.6m Arsenal transfer before late Real Madrid swoop landed star

FEDERICO VALVERDE’S representatives had reportedly “shook hands” on a move to Arsenal before Real Madrid swooped for him.The Uruguay international, 24, is now one of the main men under Carlo Ancelotti at the Bernabeu.
Federico Valverde allegedly had agreed to join Arsenal before his Real Madrid moveCredit: Rex
He has won LaLiga twice and the Champions League since his arrival from Penarol in 2016.
However, a fresh report has claimed that Arsene Wenger almost came close to bringing him to the Emirates.
AS says that Valverde had “reached a verbal agreement” with Arsenal when he was still at Penarol.
Wenger’s right-hand man Francis Cagigao had scouted the South American, and knowing how the Gunners needed to strengthen their midfield, recommended the ace to Wenger.
    READ MORE ON ARSENAL
In fact, Cagigao watched him several times and allegedly convinced the player, his family and his agent that a move to Arsenal was the best one for him.
This report also adds that Valverde and his agent actually flew to London in December 2014 to spend six days at Sopwell House Hotel, which is near Arsenal’s Training Centre.
He trained with the first-team but the North London club decided to wait to table an offer.
And that proved to be a huge error as his mind was changed after he starred in the South American U17 Championship in Paraguay a couple of months later.

He scored seven goals at the tournament – with his exploits catching the eye of Real Madrid.
Arsenal had tabled an offer of £2.7million for the ace – but it was too little too late.
Madrid had already made their move and they soon convinced the then teen star to join them instead of heading to the Premier League.
He has gone on to score 10 times in 157 games for the club in all competitions.  More

Jude Bellingham available for £83million CASH as Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Man Utd scrap for cut-price transfer

JUDE BELLINGHAM could leave Borussia Dortmund for just £83million next summer – if the entire fee is paid up front. And Manchester City are convinced they will win what is sure to be a battle of the big guns to bring him to England.
Jude Bellingham could be available for just £83m next summer – if it’s paid in cashCredit: Getty
Liverpool have a long-established interest in the Three Lions midfielder, and believed they were favourites.
Chelsea are also big fans, while Manchester United would love him at Old Trafford, but know they need a top four finish to have any hope.
There are suggestions Dortmund want over £130m for the teenager, yet sources claim the true price could be nearly £50m less — as long as it is paid in one go.
City are certainly best-placed to do that, as well as offering the best chance of silverware – and the opportunity to link up with his old Dortmund team-mate Erling Haaland.
    READ MORE FOOTBALL
Bellingham, 19, is big pals with Haaland, and the Norwegian has told him how much he is enjoying life at his new club.
When City signed Kalvin Phillips in the summer, there was a feeling his arrival meant they wouldn’t be in the running for the England youngster.
But they have remained in the hunt for another top-level midfielder – and Pep Guardiola rates him so highly he believes Bellingham could eventually fill Kevin De Bruyne’s boots.
De Bruyne is in his thirties, Ilkay Gundogan in the final ten months of his City contract, and Bernardo Silva’s long-term future is far from assured.

Bellingham still has three years on his contract which, unlike Haaland’s, does not contain a release clause.
But he is one of the hottest properties in Europe – on Friday he was the shining light in England’s dismal display in losing to Italy – and the top dogs are circling.
City have a decent relationship with Dortmund, having recently signed centre-back Manuel Akanji from the club, as well as Haaland and Gundogan.
The Germans asked about signing Etihad youngster Liam Delap on loan in the last window, before he joined Stoke for the season, and he could be another bargaining chip. More
