      ‘They’re a top, top club’ – Spurs ace Harry Kane responds to Bayern Munich transfer interest ahead of possible 2023 move

      HARRY KANE has labelled Bayern Munich a “top, top club” amid speculation over a move to the German champions.The Tottenham striker was heavily linked with a transfer to Manchester City last summer, but Spurs stood firm as he was forced to stay at his boyhood club.

      Now just over 12 months on, the England captain is being linked with a switch to Bayern following an impressive start to the campaign.
      Kane, whose Tottenham contract expires in 2024, has scored eight goals in 12 appearances so far this season, with only Erling Haaland netting more times in the Premier League.
      Earlier this year, Bayern manager Julian Nagelsmann revealed his admiration for Kane.
      And the Bundesliga giants’ CEO Oliver Kahn then described a Kane transfer as a “dream of the future”.

      However, the English forward has now played down any chance of a move, albeit while praising Bayern.
      Speaking ahead of Spurs’ clash with Eintracht Frankfurt, he said: “I’m focused on Tottenham Hotspur and trying to do my best for us.
      “Bayern are a top, top club – but all my concentration is on Tottenham and trying to win tomorrow night.”
      Bayern sold Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona in the summer and have lined up with a more fluid front line so far this season.

      At the weekend, they drew 2-2 with Borussia Dortmund and fielded a front four of Leroy Sane, Jamal Musiala, Sadio Mane and Serge Gnabry.
      But the reigning German title holders are uncharacteristically struggling to get going domestically.
      They currently sit third in the table, four points adrift of pacesetters Union Berlin.
      But they have made a perfect start to their Champions League campaign, beating Inter Milan, Barcelona and Viktoria Plzen.

      Toon had bids of £40million and £45m rejected by Brendan Rodgers’ side.
      And Maddison has shown why he’s valued so highly with five goals and two assists in eight games this season.
      Newcastle are now exploring the possibility of a third bid in January.

      Former Brighton gaffer Potter is already impressing at Stamford Bridge after just four games, leading his new side to three straight wins.
      However, the tactician was not in the mood to discuss targets last week when asked if Chelsea remained interested in Manchester United misfit Cristiano Ronaldo.
      Potter said: “We can spend all day with these questions but I’m not going to speak about this.
      “If they are not our players, I am not going to speak to them.”

      However, the Chelsea manager has now hinted at a possible swoop for Leao by openly praising Milan’s star forward ahead of tonight’s Champions League clash at the San Siro.
      Former Blues boss Thomas Tuchel had an approach rejected for the 23-year-old over the summer.
      But it’s reckoned owner Todd Boehly remains determined to bring Leao to Stamford Bridge.
      The Portugal star has impressed this season with four goals and four assists in eight games.

      And Potter admits he has been blown away by Leao’s form for the Italian champions.
      However, the gaffer refused to delve further into his interest, respecting the fact that Leao is tied down to Milan until 2024.
      Potter said: “You can see Leao’s quality and skills, it’s obvious.
      “But he is part of a strong team. We have to respect that [he is under contract].”
      Leao will certainly be out to impress this evening, having been on the receiving end in Milan’s 3-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge last week.
      The Italians remain hopeful of tying Leao down to a new contract, but the player is thought to be keen on a Premier League switch.

      However, now Spanish publication Sport claims Barcelona are eyeing a swoop next summer.
      The Nou Camp giants have been interested in Tielemans for months.

      And SER are claiming that Xavi and his coaching staff are big fans of his.
      Now they are planning a move to sign him on a free transfer come the end of the campaign.
      Despite their insistence on keeping him in the summer, Leicester could decide to cash in on the ace come winter rather than lose him for nothing at the end of the campaign.
      Leicester chiefs are understood to want to recoup at least some of the £40m they splashed out to sign him in 2019.

      Ziyech was expecting to depart Stamford Bridge after falling out with Thomas Tuchel.
      But Milan could not strike a deal after refusing to meet Chelsea’s asking price – believed to be the £33million they paid Ajax for Ziyech in 2020.
      The Moroccan’s former Dutch side also failed with a late bid in August.

      Meanwhile, an approach from Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag was blocked by his own club.
      And Ziyech has since been left in limbo, with several dud performances reflecting the situation.
      However, Milan are preparing another rescue effort in January, and Chelsea are reckoned to have softened their stance.
      Ziyech has made just two appearances off the bench in Potter’s first four games at the helm.

      And with RB Leipzig’s Christopher Nkunku on his way, the Blues could be ready to let Ziyech leave for the San Siro on loan.

      It’s not the first time the clubs have done business recently, with Fikayo Tomori joining Milan 18 months ago.
      Olivier Giroud also quit Chelsea for the Italians on a free transfer in 2021, firing Milan to last season’s title.

      Pino, 19, has been starring for Villarreal since 2020 and already has 15 goals in 86 games.
      It’s reckoned the versatile teen, who can also play out wide, would cost around £40million.
      Pino is also thought to have attracted interest from Arsenal.

      Pellegrini, 26, would also cost a pretty penny after becoming Roma captain.
      The playmaker, linked with mega-rich Newcastle, has 35 goals in 202 outings.
      And he is a favourite of ex-Blues manager Jose Mourinho.

      But the Blues are also keen to ensure there is a contingency plan in case of a late problem.
