The Red Devils were rumoured to have a bid for Pavard rejected in the summer.
With Aaron Wan-Bissaka well out of favour, United could be eyeing competition for the revived Diogo Dalot.
But Pavard has opened the door to a shock move to AC Milan.
The 26-year-old has revealed he wants to play alongside national team pal Olivier Giroud.

He is also eyeing a positional change, and is open to shuffling into the heart of defence from right-back.
Pavard is seemingly open to a new challenge… but unfortunately to United fans it appears unlikely to be at Old Trafford.
The Frenchman told Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport: “I’ve been playing in Germany for seven years, I have many friends in Stuttgart and I’ve won everything with Bayern.
“I play to win and I am open to considering new projects as a centre-back.

“Olivier [Giroud] always tells me that Italy is a country that 100% lives for football. He has told me about the magic in the derby and the big celebrations for Milan’s title win.”
“I’d like to play with him because he is a good friend of mine, let’s see.
“It is never easy to win, but Serie A is very interesting, not just for a defender like me. It’s very open as my friends Giroud, Theo Hernandez and Adrien Rabiot have always told me.”
Pavard has played 140 times for Bayern Munich since joining from Stuttgart in 2019, winning the Champions League in 2020. More

Man Utd ‘line up blockbuster Kylian Mbappe transfer to replace Cristiano Ronaldo with Victor Osimhen seen as backup’

The Portuguese superstar, 37, stunned United with his shock outburst on Sunday night, slamming the club’s infrastructure and ambition while adding he has “no respect” for boss Erik ten Hag.
The Red Devils are now considering their next step, and one option is to tear up Ronaldo’s contract to make him a free agent.
That would see United need a new striker to lead the line in 2023.
And the Mirror claims Ten Hag has already turned to Mbappe as his top option.

The French forward, 23, is believed to still be unhappy at Paris Saint-Germain after demanding to leave last month.
It’s reckoned Mbappe saw red after the Ligue 1 champs failed to pay him part of his salary in September.
And United are now putting together a potential £150million offer, as well as a contract worth an initial £500,000-a-week.
Mbappe’s numbers show he is worth it, having scored 19 goals in 20 games this season.

But whether PSG will sell is another story, having handed Mbappe a new deal just six months ago.
That means United are also looking at other options, and one of them is thought to be Napoli’s Osimhen.
The Nigerian ace, 23, has emerged as one of Europe’s top strikers and has a host of admirers.
And Osimhen has looked sharp this season with 10 goals in 14 games.

It’s even reckoned Napoli could sell for £60m.
That’s after landing a new cult star in 21-year-old Georgian attacker Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who has eight goals and 10 assists in 17 games since his £7m summer move from Dinamo Batumi. More

The striker, 37, revealed he does not respect manager Erik ten Hag and blasted the club’s lack of progress since Sir Alex Ferguson left in 2013.
The full ‘Piers Morgan Uncensored: 90 Minutes with Ronaldo’ will air on Wednesday and Thursday at 8pm on TalkTV.
And during the interview he was asked about the criticisms he faces from former team-mates Wayne Rooney and Gary Neville as well as about the support fellow ex-colleagues Roy Keane and Rio Ferdinand give him.
When asked about his old captain Keane and Ferdinand, Ronaldo said: “It means a lot because they… I was in the dressing room with them. They are part of my journey in football as well.

“As I mentioned many times, Roy Keane for me was my best captain ever.
“Rio Ferdinand helped me a lot. He was my neighbour, I was his neighbour. So very, very good guys.
“Not just because they speak good about me, but they were there in the dressing room.

Rooney blasted Ronaldo’s recent behaviour as “unacceptable” last week, to which Ronaldo responded by saying: “Piers, I don’t understand. You should ask this question to him.
“But I don’t know, I don’t know why he criticise me so bad, I don’t believe that he’s jealous of me.
“Surprisingly, it was one year ago, or six months ago. We’re here in my house, he picked up his kids here and he invited Cristiano to go to his house to play football.
    “I don’t- I really don’t understand people like that.”
When asked by Piers if it was jealousy, Ronaldo replied: “Probably, because he finished his career in his 30s.
“So I’m still playing high level. I’m not gonna say that I’m looking better than him. Which is true, but…”
Ronaldo added: “It’s hard to listen that kind of criticism and negative about people who play with you, for example, Gary Neville, as well.

“People can have his own opinion, but they don’t really know what’s going on.
“For example, inside the training ground and Carrington area or even my life-they should listen not only to one point of view, they have to listen my point of view as well.
“Because it’s easy to criticise. But if you don’t know the whole story, it’s easy, you know.
“They are not my friends, they are colleagues. We play together, they’re not coming, we’re not ever having dinner together, for example.
“But as I told you, Piers, before, it’s part of my journey, they keep criticising me negatively every time.
“So I follow. I continue my trip. And I have to catch up the people who like me.”

Now Ronaldo’s former United team-mate Ferdinand has waded in by saying that he believes the 37-year-old’s “love affair with Man Utd is finished” now.
Ferdinand told Vibe with Five: “The book has been closed. He’s snookered the club and put them into a position where there’s no way back.
“Whether anyone at the club wanted to keep Cristiano, they can’t now after what he said.
“If the interview was two minutes long, not an hour or two, and he said the comment ‘I don’t respect the manager’, regardless of anything else, that is going to be the reason why he goes.

“I played with players like Ruud van Nistelrooy, Roy Keane, David Beckham, Jaap Stam [before I was there], all players the manager [Sir Alex Ferguson] booted out the football club because he said they thought they were players that were bigger than the club at the time for different reasons. All of them reasons by the way were nothing like what we have seen from Cristiano.
“Us, everyone in the media, fans knew this moment was coming.”
Ferdinand added: “You can’t sit here and defend that from Cristiano Ronaldo.
“Deep down and I know it for a fact, this has all been manufactured for one thing – and that’s for him to leave the club.
“I don’t feel there’s any way back, I don’t feel the club will take him back and I don’t think that he wants to come back. This is all manufactured for that reason.
“Up to this interview I would defend him, and say the club have a big responsibility to communicate better.
“How are the club going to allow Ronaldo to come back and undermine their current manager? They can’t.” More

He was heading to United’s great rivals City when a personal appeal from his great mentor and father figure drove him back to where he started.
During an exclusive interview with Sun Sport columnist Piers Morgan, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner tapped his chest and said: “I followed my heart.”

“He (Sir Alex) said to me, ‘It’s impossible for you to come to Manchester City’, and I said, ‘OK, Boss.’”
In his first game back at Old Trafford, the self-styled “Theatre of Dreams”, he scored twice in a thumping 4-1 victory over Newcastle, cheered on in the stands by Sir Alex and Ronaldo’s ecstatic, weeping mother.

The delirious United fans chanted “Viva Ronaldo” for hours after the game and his team-mate Marcus Rashford tweeted that night: “Like he never left.”
Ronaldo finished as top scorer with 24 goals for the club last term but their failure to qualify for the Champions League under former boss Ralf Rangnick led to him wanting to leave in the summer.
After his much-publicised failure to secure a summer exit, Ronaldo has been forced to play a role largely from the bench this term in the Premier League.
And with his match action largely restricted to the cups, he has only managed to score three times since Ten Hag took charge at the start of the campaign.

Tensions have been building between Ronaldo and the Dutchman for months.
And that boiled over last month with a row following the forward’s walkout and refusal to come off the bench against Tottenham which led to the manager suspending him.

Speaking of Ten Hag, Ronaldo told Morgan: “I don’t have respect for him because he doesn’t show respect for me.
“If you don’t have respect for me, I’m never gonna have respect for you.”
Of Rangnick, who had not managed a football team for over a decade, he said: “If you’re not even a coach, how are you going to be the boss of Manchester United? I’d never even heard of him.”

As for United, they are in more urgent need of a new stopper as doubts remain over De Gea’s future.
The veteran is out of contract next summer, although United have the option to extend his deal for a further year.

But the Red Devils do not want to continue forking out De Gea’s reported £350,000-a-week salary until 2024.
The Premier League and Europa League winner has reportedly expressed an interest in taking a salary cut.
However, Erik ten Hag could yet opt for a clean break, and Sanchez is seen as a suitable replacement.
He is tied down to Brighton until 2027, and Roberto De Zerbi sees him as a key player.
But it’s understood Sanchez has a £57million release clause, making him a viable option should clubs decide they really want him. More
