The star is consistently linked with a move away and did little to play down his own hopes of a move.
He made it clear he dreamt of a trip to one of Europe’s most decorated leagues in the future, opening the door to a big move.
David told Football Daily: “Yeah, you know for me, I was always watching European football on TV.
“So, for me that was always the goal. For me it was, I only wanted to go to Europe.

“The next step is always growing, having more ambition, a bigger club I think. Every player wants to play for a massive club in their life. So I think if I had the chance to do it, I’ll go for it for sure.
“I think they’re two different leagues [the Premier League and La Liga]. But I think I can adapt to both for sure. And I think with the experience that I’ve had here in France, it will help me a lot if I need to adapt to some place else a lot faster.
“So yeah I think both leagues suit me.”
Chelsea have been heavily linked with David, with reports suggesting the forward could be Graham Potter’s first season.

Man Utd urged to ‘cut their losses’ on £40m forgotten man Donny van de Beek as rivals flock for bargain January transfer

MANCHESTER UNITED could “cut their losses” on £40million forgotten man Donny van de Beek. The Dutch ace, 25, has been a major flop since his Premier League move in 2020.

United spent £40million to land Van de Beek from Ajax.
But he netted just once in his first season at Old Trafford.
And last year Van de Beek found himself loaned out to Everton after tumbling down the pecking order.
Since returning to United, he has made just three appearances under Erik ten Hag – his former boss at Ajax.

And Sky Sports’ Dharmesh Sheth reckons United could now let Van de Beek leave for a bargain price.
Ajax failed with an attempt to re-sign the playmaker over the summer.
There was also interest from Italian champs AC Milan.
And Leicester are now thought to be preparing a £13m January bid.

Sheth reckons as a result, United are considering a permanent break for Van de Beek, who looks unlikely to win his place back any time soon.
Sheth told GiveMeSport: “You never know. Come January, there’s potential that United might think they should cut their losses and see if there’s a club who would be willing to pay money for Donny van de Beek.
“It was interesting to note that in the January transfer window – when Van de Beek went to Everton – I think United’s preference would probably have been for him to have gone to a European club, where the play and the build-up play is slightly slower and more suited to van de Beek’s style of play.
“He could have got a lot more games had he gone abroad, maybe performed well, come back to United and maintained a good value.
“But, instead, he went to Everton. Effectively, what has happened to him at United happened to him at Everton because it probably wasn’t the right choice.” More

Chelsea star Christian Pulisic told to follow Timo Werner’s advice and QUIT club by Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher

CHRISTIAN PULISIC should follow in Timo Werner’s footsteps by QUITTING Chelsea. That’s according to Jamie Carragher, who reckons the American stands a better chance of becoming a top-level player at a “smaller” club.

Pulisic, 24, is in his fourth season at Chelsea after a £58million move from Borussia Dortmund.
But he is yet to take Stamford Bridge by storm after suffering numerous injury setbacks.
And after failing to win over Thomas Tuchel, Pulisic continues to be an outside squad player under Graham Potter.
Over the summer, the winger saw fellow misfit Timo Werner ditch Chelsea for a return to RB Leipzig.

The German has since scored eight goals this term – seven more than Pulisic.
And Carragher believes the time has come for the USA captain to start considering his own future.
Liverpool’s former captain claims Pulisic could reach greater heights as a player if he can be the star man for a lower-ranking club.
Carragher points to Werner’s new-found form at Leipzig as inspiration for Pulisic.

But he admits flexible boss Potter could yet provide more opportunities after starting the forward in last night’s Champions League win at RB Salzburg.
Carragher told CBS: “100 per cent [Pulisic should consider a smaller club].
“A lot of footballers are different, I do scratch my head when I see certain players at clubs for a long time and they never really get into the team.
“And that’s why I think Thierry [Henry] is saying he respects Timo Werner. Rather than just sitting on the bench another year or two he’s gone back to somewhere where he’s going to play week in, week out.
“And I just think Pulisic is sort of at that stage now where there’s been a few managerial changes.
“It looks like he’s getting more of a chance with Potter, but not just him, I think Graham Potter is a manager who changes it every game so everyone is getting a chance.
“So he may feel like he’s getting more of an opportunity to prove to the manager he can be in that recognised 11.

“But he’s been there a few years now, it hasn’t quite happened for him for whatever reason, and maybe Dortmund is a level down from Chelsea who are a team who are trying to win the Champions League – we know Pulisic was part of that win.
“But eventually you have to make that decision. I don’t think you can continue to be in that position that he’s been in for the last two or three years.” More

And the Spaniard has three targets lined up as Arsenal look for a first Premier League title since the Invincibles.
Arteta will be handed £50million of hard cash by owner Stan Kroenke, having already spent £130m in the summer.
Top of Arteta’s list is Brazilian midfielder Danilo Oliveira.
The 21-year-old has been starring at Palmeiras this year.

And Danilo was quickly identified by Arteta after previous target Douglas Luiz signed a new Aston Villa deal.
It’s believed Palmeiras could accept £22million for their star man, having spurned initial interest several months ago.
And Danilo would provide competition for Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey, while also being an upgrade on Mo Elneny and Albert Sambi Lokonga.
Arsenal also hope to sign a winger to boost their forward line.

Top of the list is Shakhtar Donetsk’s Mykhaylo Mudryk, 21, who is rated as one of Europe’s top youngsters.
He scored his sixth goal of the season in last night’s 1-1 Champions League draw against Celtic.
But Mudryk is attracting interest from some of the continent’s elite sides, with Shakhtar hoping for as much as £50m.
That has seen Arteta also place Yeremy Pino on his wishlist.
How Arsenal could line up in 2023
The 20-year-old broke into Villarreal’s side two years ago.
Pino is valued at £25m by the Spanish club, who have just lost boss Unai Emery to Aston Villa.
Like Mudyrk, he would give Arteta more options on both sides of the attack.
But Pino is also capable of playing as a striker, meaning Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah would have extra competition too.

It now remains to be seen who Arteta plumps for after taking Arsenal to the top of the table.

And unless he shows some contrition and agrees to abide by Ten Hag’s rules then he will be continue to be exiled going into Thursday’s clash with Sheriff Tiraspol.
Ten Hag was furious after Ronaldo refused to come on as a substitute during Manchester United’s 2-0 win over Tottenham last Wednesday.
Ronaldo walked down the tunnel before the end of the game and left Old Trafford.
Ten Hag ordered him to train on his own and left him out of the squad for Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge and is understood to have fined him two weeks wages.

All the players were given Monday off, including Ronaldo, so any talks between him and the manager have been delayed.
But Ten Hag is not messing about as he tries to steer United on a course back towards being serious contenders at the top end of the Premier League.
He does not want the Ronaldo sideshow deflecting from what he is trying to do.
Ronaldo was left out of last Wednesday’s starting line-up against Spurs having been subbed in the second-half of the previous game, a goalless draw with Newcastle.

He had made his displeasure clear, shaking his head as he was replaced by Marcus Rashford.
After being dropped to face Tottenham, he refused his manager’s orders to come on in the second-half.
Ten Hag said it was “bad behaviour” and emphasised that despite Ronaldo’s achievements he cannot be afforded special treatment.
Ten Hag said: “He has achieved a lot in his career. It is so brilliant.
“But he has to be aware that you get judged by the moment and how you are acting today. In top sport, it is about today — it is not about age or reputation.
“When you have top sport, you get judged by the moment and how you act. That is normal.
“Everyone has to be aware of it and not just Cristiano. We have to be aware of it as a team, a manager and a club.”

The Spaniard, who is understood to have agreed a three-year contract, will miss Saturday’s trip to Newcastle and officially start at Villa Park on November 1 once he receives his work permit.
Caretaker boss Aaron Danks will remain in charge for the visit to St James’ Park.
His first two games in charge will be at home to Manchester United on November 6 and a Carabao Cup third round tie at Old Trafford four days later.

Emery joined Villarreal in 2020 and led the club to their first European title after triumphing in the Europa League in his first season.

After turning down the chance to manage Saudi-rich Newcastle, Emery continued to lead the Yellow Submarine to the Champions League semi-finals before being knocked out by Liverpool.
Emery famously won three consecutive Europa League titles with Sevilla between 2014-16 while also winning Ligue 1 and two French Cups while Paris-Saint Germain manager.
Villarreal are 11th in the La Liga table after winning five and drawing three of their 11 games.
They face Hapoel Be’er Sheva in the Europa Conference League on Thursday night.
Emery has got most of his success from deploying a 4-2-3-1 formation, which the Villa board feel best suits their current squad.
The club wanted to hold talks with Sporting Lisbon’s Ruben Amorim but baulked at his £20million release clause and had second thoughts over his 3-4-3 system.
