    Chelsea reach ‘full verbal agreement’ for Andrey Santos with £17.5m Vasco star set to be Blues second January transfer

    CHELSEA have agreed to sign Brazilian midfielder Andrey Santos in a £17.5million transfer from Vasco da Gama, according to reports.Santos, 18, has been scouted by the likes of Manchester City, Newcastle and Barcelona this year, making him one of the most sought-after teenagers in world football.

    He is widely regarded as one of Brazil’s most promising young stars with eight goals in 37 club appearances already to his name.
    And according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, he is now destined for Stamford Bridge.
    Romano claims that Chelsea and Vasco have come to a verbal agreement, with Santos set to swap Rio de Janeiro for west London in a £17.5m transfer next month.
    Personal terms have also been agreed.

    Santos is set to become Chelsea’s second winter signing, with a deal for David Datro Fofana already in place.
    The 20-year-old forward has reportedly agreed to join the Blues in a £10.5m transfer from Norwegian side Molde.
    Santos and Fofana will become the latest young stars to don the Blue shirt when they link up with the Chelsea squad next month.
    The Blues have signed a host of young stars including Carney Chukwuemeka, Cesare Casadei, Gabriel Slonina and Omari Hutchinson since Todd Boehly took the helm in May.

    Brentford eyeing up January transfer for striker as replacement if Ivan Toney hit with ban after FA betting charges

    BRENTFORD are lining up a striker swoop in the January transfer window, reports claim.The Bees are thought to be exploring their options in case Ivan Toney is handed a lengthy ban.

    Toney, 27, was originally charged by the FA with 232 alleged breaches of betting rules in November, followed by a further 30 alleged breaches earlier this week.
    Brentford are scouring the market for strikers in January in case Toney is banned, according to Sky Sports.
    However, options midway through the season for an immediate replacement are thought to be limited.
    The Bees are reportedly targeting a player with proven Premier League experience to come and score goals straight away.

    Sky say a loan move could also be an option.
    Director of football Phil Giles and technical director Lee Dykes are said to be working on potential targets ahead of the window opening.
    Other than Toney, boss Thomas Frank also has Bryan Mbeumo, Yoane Wissa and Keane Lewis-Potter as attacking options, although none of them are out and out strikers.
    Toney has scored 10 goals in 14 Prem games this season.

    Barcelona consider selling Raphinha with Brazil star ‘failing to live up to his Leeds standard’ following £55m transfer

    BARCELONA will consider selling Raphinha if his form does not improve before the end of the season, according to reports.The 26-year-old joined the Catalan giants from Leeds in the summer in a deal worth a huge £55million.

    But he has failed to hit the ground running in Spain, managing just two goals and four assists in 18 appearances.
    He then went to the World Cup with Brazil and did not register any goal contributions in five matches as Tite’s men were knocked out in the quarter-finals by Croatia.
    According to Sport, it is now imperative he turns his form around at the Nou Camp before the summer.
    If he does not, it is believed Barcelona will assess his situation at the end of the campaign.

    MANCHESTER UNITED have been dealt another blow in their pursuit of Frenkie de Jong, with Barcelona president Joan Laporta insistent that he does not want to sell the midfielder.The Red Devils were heavily linked with a swoop for De Jong throughout the summer transfer window, but a move never came to fruition.

    Manager Erik ten Hag was desperate to reunite with the former Ajax star and he even prepared an offer of at least £70million in an attempt to sign him from Barcelona.
    However, Barca chief Laporta has now revealed that he never wanted to sell De Jong in the first place.
    In an interview with Barca TV, he said: “I’ve never wanted to sell Frenkie de Jong. He has to be a pillar of the team.”
    Earlier this year, De Jong confirmed his desire to remain in Spain.

    He told The Guardian: “I’m very happy I’m at Barcelona: from a young age I’ve wanted to be here, so in that way it has been a dream come true.
    “But I would have liked to win more trophies than we did in my first two years. I expected more in that sense, let’s put it that way.

    Chelsea make first January transfer signing as David Datro Fofana joins for £10.5m from Molde as he undergoes medical

    CHELSEA have reportedly kicked off their January transfer business with the £10.5million signing of Molde forward David Datro Fofana.The 20-year-old, who made his international debut for the Ivory Coast in 2019, is set to undergo a medical in London on Thursday.

    He enjoyed a sensational 2022 with the Norwegian outfit, scoring 22 goals in 39 appearances.
    Fofana was one of Molde’s key players as they completed a league-cup double and has now been snatched by Graham Potter before the official start of the window.
    Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has confirmed a deal has been reached between Chelsea and the player.
    He tweeted: “David Datro Fofana to Chelsea, done deal and here we go!

    Arsenal are still understood to be interested in tempting the Foxes ace to the Emirates, but according to Football.London they will wait until his current contract runs down.
    Tielemans will become a free agent when his contract expires at the end of June unless he is sold for a cut-price fee during the January transfer window.
    He could also have the opportunity to agree a pre-contract deal with a European club from next month, putting Arsenal’s plans to sign him at risk.

    The Gunners will be able to begin negotiations with Tielemans after the final game of the Premier League season.
    Leicester are already preparing for the midfielder’s departure with a number of potential replacements lined up.

    Porro, who was on Man City’s books between 2019 and earlier this year without ever playing for them, has a release clause of around £40million – but Spurs want to pay less to secure his services.
    A fee between £22m and £26m has been mooted, although Sporting are reluctant to sell mid-season.

    Ruben Amorim’s side will play Europa League football in the second half of the campaign, while they face a battle to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

    Newcastle looking to snap up Ivan Fresneda in January transfer but only want to pay half Real Valladolid’s asking price

    NEWCASTLE are hoping to sign Ivan Fresneda from Real Valladolid but the fee they may have to pay is double what the Magpies value him at, according to reports.The 18-year-old is seen as a top prospect and a number of clubs are monitoring him.

    Fresneda has a contract at the Spanish side until 2025, however his deal includes a £26million release clause.
    Newcastle are “serious” about signing him, claim Radio Marca Valladolid.
    But the Premier League side value him between £8million and £13million.
    The Toon are interested in signing the right-back in January, then loaning him back to the club owned by Brazilian legend Ronaldo.

    It is unclear if this is something Real Valladolid would accept.
    The club have admitted they could sell players but want to keep their squad as it is as they look to stay in the top-flight.
