    Man Utd back-up goalkeeper Martin Dubravka recalled by Newcastle after failing to make Premier League appearance

    NEWCASTLE have recalled Martin Dubravka from his loan at Manchester United.The goalkeeper made just two Carabao Cup appearances for the Red Devils after joining in the summer.

    Toon have now decided to end his loan early, the club confirmed.
    Dubravka failed to make a single Premier League appearance for United as he failed to dislodge No1 David De Gea.
    He appeared in cup wins over Aston Villa and Burnley, though was criticised by fans for his performance against the Clarets.
    The keeper twice produced errors that almost led to a Burnley goal, sparking fury amongst the fanbase.

    Dubravka will now challenge Newcastle No1 Nick Pope for a place between the sticks at St James’ Park.
    A Magpies statement read: “Martin Dúbravka has been recalled from his season-long loan spell with Manchester United.

    “The Slovakia international goalkeeper joined the Red Devils on a temporary basis in September and made two appearances under Erik ten Hag.
    “And he will now provide further competition for Nick Pope, who kept his ninth league clean sheet of the season – the most in the Premier League – in Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Leeds.”

    Chelsea ‘agree £33m deal to sign Benoit Badiashile’ with Monaco star set to complete Blues transfer after medical

    CHELSEA have agreed a fee with Monaco to sign Benoit Badiashile, according to reports.The centre-back is now set for a medical before finalising a switch to Stamford Bridge.

    According to The Athletic, the Blues have had a £33million bid for Badiashile accepted by Monaco.
    The Frenchman has also agreed personal terms with Chelsea and the transfer is set to be finalised soon.
    Badiashile, 21, will undergo a medical before joining the club on a long-term deal.
    He will become the third signing of the winter window for the Blues after the capture of striker Davide Datro Fofana.

    Vasco da Gama’s Andrey Santos is also set to join and only needs to pass a medical to become a Chelsea player.
    Badiashile started out at Monaco’s academy in 2016 and was promoted to the senior squad only two years later at the age of 17.
    Since then, the France international amassed a total of six goals and three assists in 135 appearances.
    Chelsea could now turn their attention to other transfer targets, with Potter plotting a raid on former club Brighton for Moises Caicedo and Alexis Mac Allister.

    Ronaldo had said he felt betrayed by United and did not respect Dutchman Ten Hag in a controversial TalkTV interview with Piers Morgan.

    Al Nassr played for the first time since Friday’s announcement at Al Khaleej, winning 1-0 to go top of the league.
    Reports last night claim Ronaldo could face Lionel Messi’s Paris Saint-Germain in an all-star friendly against a combined XI from Saudi sides Al Nassr and Al Hilal.
    Meanwhile Rio Ferdinand, a team-mate of Ronaldo during his first spell at Old Trafford, defended his decision to make the switch to Saudi.
    He said: “For any footballer at whatever level, happiness and the environment you’re playing in is one of the most important things.

    Birmingham want to buy Sanderson if they can agree a fee.
    So the Gers need to make a rival cash bid.

    However, Sanderson picked up a potentially troublesome hamstring strain in Friday’s 1-0 loss to Hull.
    Birmingham head coach John Eustace provided an update on the loanee, saying: “Dion came off with a slight strain to the hamstring, I think.
    “That’s something we’ve got to look at and he will be getting scanned at the weekend, I’m sure.
    “We were looking to maybe make a change at half time but we had to be careful on the changes because obviously there were a couple struggling, and that delayed our decision-making on that. He ended up going off.”

    Sunderland’s offer of around £10,000 a week is three times Stewart’s current wages but less than a Premier League deal.
    Brentford are waiting on scan results after Toney was carted off with a knee injury in Friday’s 2-0 win at West Ham, while the striker is also facing a possible ban for allegedly breaking FA betting rules.
    Toney scored in the win over their London rivals, stabbing home in the first half.
