But with six months left on his deal, the former Premier League champ is weighing up whether or not he is in it for the long haul.
Conte, 53, said: “I signed when I found the club in a difficult position for many reasons.
“Now my task, I understood it very well, is to try to help the club go in the right direction or to come back in the right direction about the choices of the players, about the work, to organise and to create a foundation.
“Now this is my big challenge here. If I want to stay, then I have to accept this.

“Otherwise, if I do not want to accept this then I have to go.”
Conte was in negotiations over a new contract last month and should he decide to stay, he would likely sign fresh terms.
But if he opts to part ways, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is likely to let him leave this summer, even though the club have an option to extend his current deal for a further 12 months.
Conte won the Premier League as Chelsea boss in 2016-17.

And he has been explicit in his belief that Spurs are some way off being able to challenge for  the title.
Following their 2-0 home defeat by Aston Villa on New Year’s Day, he branded summer suggestions they could win the Premier League as “crazy”.
He also believes that repeating last season’s “miracle” of finishing in the top four will be even harder, given the number of competitors with far deeper pockets.
Conte, who won four Serie A titles in charge of Juventus and Inter Milan, added: “If you ask me, ‘The challenge for you is to win the Premier League, to win the Champions League’, this is not the task here in this moment.
“My big challenge is this: To continue to work so strong with my staff and the players, to improve the club, to create a solid foundation.
“If I am satisfied to continue to do this work and to one day see the result, I will stay.
“If I’m not convinced 100 per cent then I can leave my work here.
“It’s a big work we are doing together. I know very well what it is and it’s important.
“You asked me, ‘You are used to [winning]’ but to win you need to stay in the right condition.

“My task with the club is to create a solid base for Tottenham to come back to be competitive and to have the ambition but in a strong way, not only with words.”

The 2-0 defeat to Brentford on Friday has left them outside of the relegation zone only on goal difference.
Some fans have been taking out their frustrations on social media by blasting their captain Rice’s recent displays.
With speculation mounting that he will leave West Ham, where he has played since 2014, one Instagram account even claimed that Rice “has given up”.
But the England international has hit back at that after reading it himself on Instagram.

He wrote: “Keep reading little comments like these that are, 1. Funny & 2. Complete nonsense. I would never ever give up, for the fans or for the club.
“Of course things on a football pitch get tough! But especially as captain and wearing this shirt, I know exactly what it means to play for West Ham.”
His manager David Moyes has also publicly defended the player from social media criticism.
He said last week: “People can have their opinions, but Declan played fantastically well in midweek and he has done for nearly all the time I’ve been here.

Southampton are rock bottom of the Premier League with just one win in their last 12 Premier League games and are in need of new arrivals to boost their survival bid.
Orisc, 30, has eight goals and seven assists in the Croatian top flight this season and will be known to English fans for impressive performances against Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal.
The attacking midfielder bagged a hat-trick against Spurs to dump them out of the Europa League in 2020.
He also scored at West Ham in Europe last season and netted the winner against the Blues in their Champions League opener – a goal which got Thomas Tuchel the sack.

New boss Nathan Jones is also in desperate need of a striker and also wants to bolster his midfield.
While Southampton are just two points from safety, they have been desperately short of goals so far and have lost all three Prem games since Jones replaced Ralph Hasenhuttl in December.
Only Neymar and Kylian Mbappe have scored more goals than Moffi’s ten in Ligue 1 so far this season.
The Nigeria international, 23, is one of a number of strikers the Saints are considering this month, with Udinese striker Beto also on their list.

Jones is also keen on Argentinian Alcaraz, who has been linked with both Inter Milan and Benfica.
The Portuguese side have considered the 20-year-old as a replacement for World Cup winner Enzo Fernandez, who is set to join Chelsea this month.
Given the clubs who have been keeping tabs on Alcaraz, nicknamed Charly, it would prove quite the coup for Southampton to nab the youngster, who has 12 goals and six assists in 83 appearances for Racing.
Former Luton manager Jones also wants additions in defence with recalls for both Jack Stephens, who is on loan at Bournemouth, and Jan Bednarek, who joined Aston Villa in the summer, being considered. More

Journalist Nicolo Schira says Frankfurt want £53m-£62m to part ways with the forward.
However, United boss Erik ten Hag has suggested the Red Devils are short of funds this month.
On the club’s striker issues, Ten Hag said: “I think we have a good team when all the players are available.
“But with many games coming up, I think there is a need.
“But you need one who can have an impact, otherwise you are just burning money and you don’t strengthen the squad and it doesn’t help you.”
Elsewhere, reports claim Muani’s France team-mate Marcus Thuram is also attracting interest from United.
Thuram’s Borussia Monchengladbach contract expires at the end of the season. More

They have already signed forward Cody Gakpo in a £37million deal from PSV.
But with the January window now open, The Telegraph reported that Liverpool submitted a £44m bid to prise Portugal star Nunes away from Wolves.
However, new boss Lopetegui appears to have ruled out the departure of the 24-year-old – who only arrived in a club-record £42.2m deal in the summer.
The ex-Real Madrid and Spain boss said: “We can say that Matheus is our player, he’s a Wolves player and he’s happy to be here.”

Jamie Carragher blasted the club’s recruitment committee for not signing a midfielder in the summer, before urging them to splash £200m on new players.
Following the club’s 3-1 loss to Brentford, he said: “Liverpool’s transfer team have been lauded more than any in Premier League, but this is on them.
“They’ve gone from team challenging for four trophies to one that’s struggling for a Champions League place. Liverpool didn’t sign a midfield player in the summer.
“They can’t get in the top four without signing a midfielder. I can’t see it changing before the end of the season.

“They’re a team in transition. They’ve got a lot of young players who have been great for the club, but they need to go big in the summer.
“You think of what (Manchester) United and Chelsea have spent and they’re still not close to winning the league.
“Liverpool need to spend £200m. They need to sign three midfielders. They need to be at least £40-50m players.
“People keep talking about Bellingham, but for me it’s as important to get a Wijnaldum type, who – alongside Fabinho – can protect that back four, stop players running through.” More

But he could still be sold this month, according to The Athletic.

Wan-Bissaka has been linked with a move away after falling out of favour at Old Trafford.
It’s claimed several clubs have expressed an interest in signing the defender before the end of the current transfer window.

He has been linked with a return to the Eagles.

And Selhurst Park boss Patrick Vieira fuelled rumours of a swoop in December.
He said on Wan-Bissaka: “Listen, he is a Man Utd player. We have to respect that and there’s nothing more to say about that.
“He is a good player, there is no doubt about that. He’s related to this football club, and I think he’s been loved by the fans.
“But again, he’s a United player.
“I hope we’re going to be busy [in January]. We always work hard to try to improve the squad but we know how tough and difficult it is to find the players to improve the team.
“We are quite short on numbers but it is important to find the right players.” More
