Chelsea have agreed an £11million fee with Vasco de Gama for the youngster, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.
And he reports the wonderkid is travelling to Chelsea HQ to undergo medical tests before completing a transfer.
However, Santos was jokingly tied up by his Vasco team-mates in a last-ditch attempt to keep him at the club.
Santos is set to put pen to paper on a long-term deal at Stamford Bridge.

And he will not be loaned back to Brazilian side Vasco de Gama, which means he could be part of Graham Potter’s first-team plans.
Santos is set to become Chelsea’s second winter signing following the £10.5m capture of David Datro Fofana.

But Chelsea could be set to complete several more deals with Potter eyeing Brighton star Moises Caicedo.
The Blues are also plotting a swoop for Benfica midfielder Enzo Fernandez and could activate his £105m release clause.

Chelsea are willing to pay Fernandez’s £105million release clause with Manchester United and Liverpool also keen.
But Benfica are determined to keep the midfielder and club president Rui Costa met with Fernandez upon his return to Portugal on Wednesday.
According to The Times, Costa tried to convince the 21-year-old that staying at the club for the remainder of the season would be beneficial for his career.
Costa is believed to have pointed to the fact that Chelsea may not qualify for the Champions League as a reason for Fernandez to stay.

He also argued there is instability at Stamford Bridge following the takeover by Todd Boehly and the departure of manager Thomas Tuchel in September.
Benfica are also said to be willing to offer Fernandez a much-improved contract which could see him earn up to £7m more in performance-related bonuses.
A new deal could also increase his release clause by £76m, though Benfica would allow him to leave for less than that.
Chelsea want to wrap up a deal for Fernandez in January which is why they are happy to match his release clause.

The Blues want to avoid a summer transfer battle which could see the likes of United, Liverpool and Real Madrid make offers for the youngster.
Fernandez recently broke his silence on the transfer rumours, telling Globo: “I don’t know anything about that.

“It’s up to my agent, I don’t want to get involved.
“I’m focused on Benfica, in a few days we have an important game [against Braga].” More

Arsenal ‘leading race for long-term Man Utd transfer target Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.. and Lazio could finally sell’

ARSENAL are reportedly “leading the race for long-term Manchester United transfer target Sergej Milinkovic-Savic” with Lazio allegedly set to “finally sell” their star.
The 39-capped Serbian international has been linked with a move to the Premier League for years.
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is the heart-beat of the Lazio team

Chelsea and Manchester United have both been keen on signing him.
However, we reported earlier this month how Arsenal are now his most likely destination with Mikel Arteta’s side looking to win the race for him.
Lazio’s club president Claudio Lotito has been vocal about his wish to keep Milinkovic-Savic and has been consistent about saying how highly valued he is at the Rome club.
However, the 27-year-old is now entering the final 18 months of his contract in the Italian capital.

And Corriere dello Sport are claiming that Lazio do not want to risk losing Milinkovic-Savic for nothing, which could lead to them cashing in come January.
The report says that the Premier League leaders, who beat West Ham 3-1 on Boxing Day, have firmed up their interest in the ace over recent months.
They even scouted him during Lazio’s 2-0 win over Verona in September.
Milinkovic-Savic initially wanted to join a club competing in the Champions League, which scuppered the Gunners’ hopes of signing him last summer.

But Arsenal’s stunning form means they are bang on course to return to Europe’s elite competition next term.
Now this latest update says that Milinkovic-Savic is open to joining Arteta’s project and his agent, ex-Chelsea striker Mateja Kezman, is looking at options for his client.
He is looking to secure a transfer bid of between £35.2 and £44m to take to Lazio with Arsenal considered to be in pole position.
Although, it does add that the North London club have not yet tabled an official offer.
Milinkovic-Savic has played over 300 times for Lazio since joining from Belgian side Genk back in 2015.  More

Arsenal beg Shakhtar to be realistic over £85m Mudryk transfer valuation after seeing Liverpool get Gakpo for half

ARSENAL want Shakhtar Donetsk to set a more realistic asking price for transfer target Mykhailo Mudryk. And they are pointing to Cody Gakpo’s move to Liverpool — for £37million rising to £45m — as a guideline.

Shakhtar have already rejected the Gunners’ offer of £35m, plus a further £17.5m in easily achievable add-ons.
The Ukrainian club have shown little sign of budging from their hefty £85m valuation of Mudryk.
But Arsenal believe that is an unreasonable price for a 21-year-old winger with little more than 18 months of Ukrainian league football under his belt.
They have noted that Liverpool are only paying PSV Eindhoven an initial £37m for Dutch star Gakpo, who arrived on Merseyside on Wednesday.
    READ MORE ON ARSENAL
Arsenal have already bid more for Mudryk.
And it is not lost on the Prem leaders that Gakpo is two years older than Mudryk, has 100 more games, 50 more goals — plus was also a star at the World Cup.
Yet Shakhtar sporting director Darijo Srna continues to claim Mudryk is in the same bracket as Brazil forward Antony, who cost Manchester United £85.5m from Ajax in the summer.
And he even mentioned the £100m British-record fee which Manchester City paid for Jack Grealish.

But Arsenal suspect that Srna is trying to start a bidding war for a player Shakhtar are resigned to selling in January.
Everton, Roma and Brentford all tried to sign Mudryk last summer but will NOT go beyond £30m.
And there have been no other offers to even rival the Gunners’ opening bid.
Mudryk has repeatedly spoken of his admiration for Arsenal in interviews.
But with the Ukrainian league shut down for a three-month winter break, Mudryk has been ordered to return for the start of training on January 9.
Arsenal are now hoping to reach a compromise agreement with Shakhtar and break the deadlock by offering a guaranteed £45m — plus as much as £15m in add-ons.
Boss Mikel Arteta is keen to get the player on board quickly, to allow him to rest Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.
And owner Stan Kroenke is backing him with the financial resources. More

Liverpool and Manchester United are also showing an interest.
However, Blues officials have stolen a march and informed Portuguese giants Benfica of their desire to get the deal done.
Fernandez has a contract until 2027, with Benfica playing hardball to keep him.
But in a meeting with club president Rui Costa and super-agent Jorge Mendes, they were told the mammoth release clause would be no issue.

It would be the biggest transfer fee paid in the club’s history, beating the £97.5m they paid for flop striker Romelu Lukaku in 2021.
And now the west Londoners are tasked with reaching a personal agreement with Fernandez and his representatives.
Chelsea are desperate to secure his services with Premier League rivals United and Liverpool preferring to wait until the summer to submit their bids.
Fernandez scored his first and only goal for Argentina in their 2-0 group stage win over Mexico, becoming the second youngest scorer for his nation at a World Cup behind Lionel Messi.

Boss Erik ten Hag was left frustrated as bitter rivals Liverpool swooped in to steal the Dutchman away from Old Trafford.
But he remains hopeful a Ronaldo replacement can be found in January, according to ESPN.
However, summer spending means United’s budget in January is restricted.
As a result the club are eyeing short-term loan deals until the end of the campaign.

Morata’s Atletico Madrid team-mate Joao Felix is also available.
