His contract is due to end in the summer but the ex-Arsenal and Spain ace has zero intentions to retire.

SHEFFIELD UNITED have been slapped with a transfer ban.The promotion-chasing Championship side sit second in the table and look well on course to go up with Burnley.

However, they will not be able to make any new signings as the EFL investigates claims of non-payment of historical transfer fees.
United have breached EFL guideline 52.2.3, which concerns the default of payments to another club “under a transfer or compensation arrangement”.
It is understood this relates to unpaid debt or failure to stick to agreed payment structures for incoming players.
Therefore, the club has essentially been blocked from spending more money on transfers until they have paid their outstanding fees.

Fellow Championship club Cardiff City were also placed under a transfer embargo last month.
That was after the Bluebirds refused to pay the first instalment of the £15million fee to tragic Emiliano Sala’s previous club Nantes.
The latest news, though, comes as a major blow for the Blades with boss Paul Heckingbottom unable to add to his squad in the January transfer window.
Heckingbottom had been desperate to bolster his attack with new additions before the end of the month.

The transfer embargo adds to the woes already surrounding United.
The Blades are unable to complete their usual pre-match preparations because their new training ground pitch is still not ready, while the club are reluctant to overuse the Bramall Lane pitch.
Heckingbottom, whose side host Hull tonight, said: “We’ve changed things today, training-wise.
“I have to manage myself and adapt to do things we don’t normally do, with not being able to deliver it in the same way.
“Time-wise, it’s still not at the level where we can play competitively on it.
“Usually I would have gone from unopposed tactical sessions into opposed sessions, where I see people making decisions.
“That’s the bit we are going to have to compromise on.” More

Results have started to match poor displays since the Premier League’s resumption, however, with Antonio Conte’s side’s latest struggle coming against Manchester City yesterday.
Spurs took a shock 2-0 half-time lead through Dejan Kulusevski and Emerson Royal’s quickfire double, only for a series of defensive calamities to undermine their efforts and see them fall to a 4-2 defeat.
Tottenham are now five points off the top four, with Newcastle, Manchester United and City all possessing a game in hand.
The Lilywhites managed to overhaul a bigger deficit to Arsenal during last season’s top four race – with January signings Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur playing a huge part in pushing them over the line.

They will likely need similarly high quality reinforcements if they are to repeat the trick this year.
So SunSport has taken a look at the five players Spurs should recruit in order to clamber back into the top four race.

But that deal could eventually cost them £90m in total due to add-on clauses.
Initially costing £72m, the attacking midfielder will earn Leverkusen an extra £18m if certain performance-related bonuses are fulfilled.

Garnacho is currently believed to be on around £7,000 per week.
That makes him the second lowest paid senior player at the club with only Anthony Elanga below him on £5,500-a-week.
We reported this week that he had snubbed a new deal worth £20,000-a-week.
That led to both Juventus and Real Madrid stepping up their pursuit of the teenage ace.

Atletico Madrid are also keen on snapping up Garnacho from the Red Devils.
We then reported how United had upped their offer and were “close to” agreeing terms with him and his representatives as they looked to secure his future.
Now a fresh update from FootballTransfers states that Garnacho is on the verge of penning a package worth north of £30,000 per week.
That would be on a six-and-a-half year deal with the option of a further 12 months which includes bonuses for goals and other performance-related feats.

And transfer guru Fabrizio Romano told GiveMeSport: “Now, the conversations are very positive, so Manchester United are relaxed on the Garnacho situation.
“They feel they will have the chance to extend his contract very, very soon.”
Garnacho was a product of Atletico’s youth system after arriving from Getafe in 2015 and playing for the academy set-up until two and a half years ago.
They let him join United for £420,000 fee in 2020 and he has since risen through the ranks into Erik ten Hag’s first-team squad. More

Moukoko and BVB have been in a stand-off, with the 18-year-old receiving plenty of interest from the Prem.
But according to Bild, he has opted to pen a three-year extension with Dortmund.
They add that the deal will see him pocket around £100,000 a week.
Moukoko could have earned far more had he moved to England.

Ultimately, Moukoko and his team decided that his development would be best served by staying at Dortmund.

And he was recently warned against moving by German legend Lothar Matthaus.
He told Sky in Germany: “If Moukoko is all about the money, I might recommend him to join Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia.
“But if he wants to further expand his still young and very promising career and wants to become a great footballer, then there is no better place for him to start than with Borussia Dortmund.

“What does he want after a few good months in the Bundesliga at Chelsea, Newcastle or anywhere else abroad at the age of 18?

The 28-year-old Belgian World Cup ace is expected to be confirmed as their player within 24 hours after passing medical and agreeing personal terms with the Premier League leaders.
Now the Daily Mail claims that they are looking to bring Anthony back to the Emirates as well before the transfer window closes.
The 23-year-old spent a decade in the North London club’s academy before heading to Bournemouth in 2016.
He was outstanding during last season’s promotion campaign campaign but has struggled for match action in the top-flight his term.

After eight goals and seven assists in the Championship, he has been restricted to just four starts in the league so far this campaign.
Anthony’s contract also expires in June, meaning that the Cherries could be tempted to cash in on him now rather than risk losing him for nothing.
And the Gunners are seemingly ready to swoop with this report stating that “his age and previous academy experience” with Arsenal makes them believe that he would be “a shrewd addition with potential for long-term growth”.
But they face competition from a host of clubs from both home and abroad.

Leicester City are also monitoring Anthony’s situation as they weigh-up a move to help bolster their survival chances.
Bundesliga clubs Borussia Monchengladbach and Bayer Leverkusen are also keen.
Gladbach are looking for a potential replacement for Chelsea transfer target Marcus Thuram.
Meanwhile Leverkusen want someone to fill the void that will be left when on-loan Callum Hudson-Odoi returns to Stamford Bridge.
Bournemouth will be loath to lose the starlet this month after slipping to 17th, a point above the drop zone, following a six-match losing run. More
