Kim signed for £16m last summer, as a replacement for the Chelsea-bound Kalidou Koulibaly.
And it seems the Italian champions are set to lose another defender to the Premier League.
Nicknamed the “monster”, Kim played a crucial role as Napoli were crowned Serie A champions for the first time since 1990 this season.
He started 34 Serie A matches so far this campaign, with Luciano Spalletti’s side conceding just 26 goals in the league.

And the South Korea international’s form has become one of the Red Devils’ key targets, as Erik Ten Hag looks to strengthen his central defensive options this summer.
According to Corriere dello Sport the defender will fly to Manchester when the transfer window opens to finalise his move to Old Trafford.
Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano added that United have begun talks with Kim to discuss contract, salary and housing arrangements.
Attempts by Napoli to give Kim a new contract and remove the clause have proved unsuccessful.

However, it will see Napoli secure a major profit after a single season.
This comes as United are reportedly ready to sell Harry Maguire and Diogo Dalot.
Defenders Eric Bailly, Axel Tuanzebe and Alex Telles have all spent the current campaign on loan at Marseille, Stoke and Sevilla respectively.
Kim can also count former United boss Jose Mourinho among his admirers, with the Roma manager describing him as a “top player” before a match against Napoli this season. More

Man Utd’s Mount pursuit set to spark transfer merry-go-round with two Red Devils leaving and Rice joining rivals

Sources say United don’t want to pay any more than £60m for the Chelsea star, who has just one year left on his deal at Stamford Bridge.
But his arrival at Old Trafford could see Scott McTominay move on.

The Scottish international is on the radar of Newcastle United. But David Moyes is also keen on him as a potential replacement for Rice at the London Stadium.
Meanwhile, Dutch flop Donny van de Beek is also set to leave after failing to prove toTen Hag that he has a future at the club.
    READ MORE ON MAN UTD
A United source told Sun Sport: “The club are keen to make Mason Mount a Manchester United player.
“They think he can come straight into the first team and make a positive difference to them. But they are not prepared to pay silly money and they have set the bar for what they will go to, to £60m.
“Mason is attracted to the idea of being able to link up with so many of his England colleagues like Luke Shaw, Marcus Rashford and Harry Maguire. He has made it clear to his advisers that United is now the club he wants to go to and is pushing for the deal to happen.
“But Mason’s arrival would leave McTominay further down the pecking order and he’s at a stage of his career now where he wants to be playing every week.

“There are no shortage of clubs interested and although United are not necessarily keen to sell him, he is likely to try and push for a move to take the next step in his career.
“Newcastle and West Ham are at the front of the queue but Brighton could also be looking to bring in a midfielder and think they could use European football to tempt some bigger names this summer.”
The source added: “Van de Beek’s career at United has been on a knife-edge for a long time.
“Some at the club thought it could be rescued by the arrival of Ten Hag, who got the best out of him at Ajax.
“But it hasn’t worked out that way. Donny just hasn’t settled so he will move in the summer, most likely to Europe where he will look to rebuild and then go again.” More

He has impressed hugely with his work north of the border, winning back-to-back league and League Cup doubles by playing expansive, exciting football.
The style of play could be a key factor in any possible switch to Spurs given Daniel Levy promised on Saturday the team would serve up fare next season that fans would “love to come and watch”.
Should Levy turn to the Bhoys chief, he would not be the only Aussie to arrive at Spurs this summer, with Scott Munn beginning his role as chief football officer on July 1.
Postecoglou and Munn have both previously worked for the City Football Group – the umbrella company that owns Manchester City and 11 other clubs worldwide.

Munn was chief executive of Melbourne City before taking over as CEO of the Chinese arm of City Football Group in 2019.
Meanwhile Athens-born Postecoglou bossed City’s Japanese side Yokohama F Marinos for three years before taking over at Celtic in 2021.

Free agent Luis Enrique has also been linked with the vacant position but SunSport believes Spurs are more likely to go for a manager who is currently in a job.
Postecoglou is contracted to Celtic on a one-year rolling deal meaning compensation to hire him should not prove too costly.

It is believed that was one of the hitches in any bid to bring Slot to the club.
The 44-year-old had a release clause of around £5.7million but that did not kick in until NEXT summer, meaning it was up to Spurs to agree a compensation package to take him now.
Dutch sources suggest there was a significant difference in valuation.
And when Feyenoord made it clear they would not budge in talks with Slot’s agent, Rafaela Pimenta, on Wednesday, any possible exit was ruled out.
Slot today insisted there had been no conversations about his exit, only over signing a new contract at Feyenoord which he is set to do.
While Spurs sources maintain they have held no discussions with Slot or Feyenoord over any possible move.
Former AZ Alkmaar boss Slot said: “I have been hearing a lot of rumours going around about other interest in me.
“Although I am thankful, my wish is to stay at Feyenoord and continue working on what we created last year.
“There is not – and there has not been – transfer conversation and yesterday’s meeting was exclusively for an extension.

“All talks with the club have always been only in that sense. Looking forward to next season with Feyenoord.”

But he snubbed Spurs’ interest on Thursday and has opted to stay with the Dutch champions next season.
It comes after Xabi Alonso and Vincent Kompany both ruled themselves out.
The likes of Julian Nagelsmann, Luis Enrique, Luciano Spalletti and Brendan Rodgers remain in the frame.
But the Lilywhites faithful are now so uninspired by the search for their new head coach that they hilariously joked Kane could be forced to do it himself.

Reacting to the news about Slot, one social media user said: “At this rate, Harry Kane will retire and become the next Spurs manager for next year.”
While another added: “Hear me out, Harry Kane player manager, two birds one stone and all that.”
And a third responded: “Harry Kane, player/manager incoming.”
Kane, the club’s all-time record scorer, has been heavily linked with a move away from North London this summer as he prepares to enter the final 12 months of his Spurs contract.

Manchester United are understood to be circling for the England captain – who is set to miss out on European competition altogether next season if he stays with Tottenham.

But he is set to return to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season – where European football will not be on offer as Chelsea have succumbed to a bottom half finish in the Premier League table.
However, Colwill, who has been linked with a move to Manchester City or Liverpool, had to be reminded he would be returning to the Blues when speaking to The Athletic.
“I forgot for a minute,” he said after remembering he was heading back to Chelsea in the coming months.
It goes to show just how much he has enjoyed his time on the South Coast – where he has made 23 appearances in all competitions.

And he could not speak more glowingly about the set-up at the Amex.

Caicedo had been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal in the January transfer window, but Brighton clung onto their man.
He then penned a new deal to keep him on the South Coast until 2027.

But he is still expected to leave Brighton at the end of the season as both Chelsea and Arsenal circle for his signature.

Brighton rejected a bid of £70million from Arsenal in January, leading many to believe they will command an even bigger transfer fee in the summer.
Meanwhile, Caicedo and Co celebrated their Europa League qualification by jumping up and down and singing in the dressing room.
An Instagram clip shared by the club showed manager Roberto De Zerbi conducting the scenes after another impressive display.
But the Italian head coach, 43, is realistic about those in his squad potentially departing in the coming months.
Speaking earlier this week when asked if the Man City clash would be Caicedo and Alexis Mac Allister’s final home games, he said: “It can be.
“They can have the possibility to change as they deserve to play at another level but now we can offer them the possibility to play in Europe.
“Our level is bigger now. I think it can help.
