THREE more Chelsea stars reach ‘agreements’ on Saudi Arabia moves just hours after Kante transfer confirmed

HAKIM ZIYECH, Edouard Mendy and Kalidou Koulibaly have reportedly all reached full verbal agreements on transfers to Saudi Arabia. The Chelsea winger, 30, goalkeeper, 31, and centre-back, 32, are surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge following Todd Boehly’s mammoth spending spree.

Edouard Mendy is also set to make the switch to the Middle EastCredit: Getty
And now Fabrizio Romano claims deals are virtually done for the trio to become the next Chelsea players to make the switch to the Middle East this summer.
N’Golo Kante, whose contract in West London expired this month, completed a whopping £86million contract with Al-Ittihad.
Ziyech will link up with Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr after agreeing personal terms with the Saudi Pro League outfit and an agreement is in place with Chelsea.
The Moroccan is set to put pen to paper on a three-year contract until 2026.

Ziyech was on the brink of joining Paris Saint-Germain on loan in the January transfer window.
However, the move collapsed when Chelsea failed to submit the completed paperwork in time.
And now Mendy – who lost his place in goal to Kepa Arrizabalaga and refused a new contract – has also found a new club with Al-Ahli set to seal a deal until 2026.
The contract is set to be signed imminently to confirm the Senegal stopper’s Blues exit.

Both Mendy and Ziyech’s Stamford Bridge deals were due to expire in 2025, meaning they will likely get transfer fees for the Champions League winners.
Koulibaly only joined Chelsea last year and has three years left to run on his contract but has an agreement in place with Al-Hilal – again until 2026.
Pierre-Emerick Aubemeyang could also move to Saudi Arabia as Chelsea continue to clear out their deadwood – to trim down the bloated squad and help balance the books to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.
Romelu Lukaku, though, is reluctant to make the move despite the Blues wanting to sell their £97.5m striker.

The dealings, though, have left rival clubs angry and accusing Chelsea of using a “get out of FFP jail free card”.
They want an investigation into the Saudi spending, especially as news emerged that the Saudi state’s Public Investment Fund had invested billions of pounds into Clearlake Capital, the majority owners of Chelsea.
The seeming ability to offload unwanted players for big transfer fees – Al-Hilal look set to pay £25m for Koulibaly – could prove a controversial loophole, understandably leaving other clubs desperate for action.
Wolves sold captain Ruben Neves to Al-Hilal for £47m while Saudi representatives are said to be in a posh London hotel this week to thrash out more transfers.

He was initially found guilty of assaulting police, resisting arrest and attempted bribery and punished with a suspended jail sentence of 21 months and 10 days.
Maguire’s brother, Joe, and friend, Christopher Sharman, were also handed suspended sentences of 13 months.
The England international swiftly appealed and saw the conviction quashed.
That meant a retrial would automatically be heard at a higher court.

The retrial was first postponed due to the Covid pandemic.
It was then due to take place earlier this month, before Maguire’s legal team requested it be pushed back.
If found guilty, he will not be able to receive a more severe punishment than his original sentence.
And while Maguire is not expected to attend the trial in person, it is not an ideal position for the ex-Leicester man to be in as he heads off on his summer break.

After starting England’s two Euro 2024 qualification wins, he will now enjoy some downtime.
But he will continue to be linked with a move away from Old Trafford – four years on from his £80million arrival.
Tottenham, Aston Villa and West Ham have all been mooted as potential destinations for the centre-back.
However, fans may be concerned about his new court date being right in the middle of next season. More

Arsenal are confident they can make the £60million man their first signing of the summer this week.
Havertz is understood to have already agreed personal terms on a five-year deal with the Gunners.
The move would see Havertz become the 14th player to appear for both clubs in the Premier League, but can you name the others? (Here’s a few clues…)
    Petr Cech
Petr Cech won four league titles and the Champions League with Chelsea before ending his career with Arsenal.

Although the then-veteran goalkeeper did not reach the same heights during four years in North London, he did win the FA Cup in 2017.
    William Gallas
French defender William Gallas moved to Arsenal on a free transfer from Chelsea in 2006 after three years with the Blues.
He would go on to captain the Gunners before leaving to join arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur in 2010.

His decision paid off, though, as he went on to become one of the world’s best defenders, making 337 Chelsea appearances and winning ten major trophies.
    Olivier Giroud
French striker Olivier Giroud won three FA Cups with Arsenal before going on to have even more success at Chelsea.
Giroud won another FA Cup with the club after signing in 2018 and won both the Europa League and Champions League with Chelsea.
    David Luiz
David Luiz had two spells with Chelsea either side of a move to Paris Saint-Germain, making 248 appearances and winning three European trophies as well as a league title.
However, his move to Arsenal in 2019 proved less fruitful as he was sent off three times in just 73 matches before departing after two years.
    Lassana Diarra
Another Frenchman to appear for both Arsenal and Chelsea, Lassana Diarra made just 43 combined appearances for the two clubs.
Signed by Chelsea as a 20-year-old in 2005, he moved to Arsenal two years later but would last less than five months before he was sold to Portsmouth.

Willian became a fan favourite during seven years at Stamford Bridge, with 63 goals and 62 assists in 339 appearances.
However, he struggled following a free transfer for Arsenal in 2020, scoring just once in 37 matches before departing the club after a year.
    Cesc Fabregas
Cesc Fabregas remains Arsenal’s youngest ever player after scoring in the League Cup aged just 16 years, six months and 28 days old.
He would go on to captain the club before leaving for Barcelona in 2011. Fabregas returned to England with Chelsea three years later and won two league titles in four-and-a-half seasons in West London.
    Nicolas Anelka
Prolific French striker Nicolas Anelka was just 17 when he joined Arsenal in 1997 but still scored 28 times and won the Double before being sold two years later.
Chelsea would later sign a 28-year-old Anelka in 2008, with the forward winning the golden boot in his first full season and a league title in 2010.
    Yossi Benayoun
Chelsea signed Israeli midfielder Yossi Benayoun from Liverpool in 2010 but failed to get the best out of him as he notched just one goal in 24 appearances.
A loan move to Arsenal for the 2011/12 campaign proved more successful, though, as he scored six goals in just two extra matches.
    Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Another player to have differing fortunes at Arsenal and Chelsea, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored 92 goals in 163 appearances for the Gunners.
He would also captain the club for two years before his time at the Emirates Stadium fizzled out and he left for Barcelona in January 2022.
After just six months in Spain he returned to London last summer, signing for Chelsea, but has scored just three goals since.
    Emmanuel Petit
World Cup winner Emmanuel Petit starred for both clubs either side of a one-year stint at Barcelona.
Having won a league and cup double during three years with Arsenal, he played 76 times for Chelsea as he ended his career at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea accused of using ‘get out of FFP jail free card’ as rivals ‘call for inquiry over Saudi transfer spending’

CHELSEA have been accused of using a “get out of Financial Fair Play jail free card”.And rivals are reportedly calling for an investigation into the Saudi Arabia transfer spending.
Todd Boehly has spent huge money on transfers since buying Chelsea last yearCredit: Reuters
Todd Boehly’s £600million-plus spending in the transfer market in the 2022-23 season left the Blues staring down the barrel of major FFP breaches.
It has led to the club needing to make significant sales before June 30 to help balance the books and trim down the massive squad.
And news of the Saudi Pro League trying to sign as many as SIX deadwood players for a combined £100m has led to a furious reaction from other clubs – especially as news emerged that the Saudi state’s Public Investment Fund had invested billions of pounds into Clearlake Capital, the majority owners of Chelsea.
Wolves are also being targetted by the angry rivals after selling captain Ruben Neves to Saudi side Al-Hilal for £47m.
    READ MORE CHELSEA NEWS
According to The Telegraph, teams want a fair market inquiry into the transfer dealings and the mega Saudi spending, especially with Saudi representatives said to be in a posh London hotel this week to thrash out more transfers.
The report adds that the Premier League handbook already has a Fair Value Assessment Protocol that must be followed by clubs to try and ensure fair and accurate prices for player sales.
However, one leading European club told the newspaper “live investigations” by Uefa are needed immediately to help tackle the potential issues and any future deals.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Kalidou Koulibaly, Hakim Ziyech and Edouard Mendy are all surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge and it appears the Saudi route could be the best way to get rid of them for inflated fees.

N’Golo Kante is also expected to move to the Middle East on a deal worth £1.7m per week – although that would be a free transfer with his Chelsea contract expiring.
Romelu Lukaku, though, is reluctant to make the move despite the Blues wanting to sell their £97.5m striker.
Even so, the seeming ability to offload unwanted players for big transfer fees – Al-Hilal look set to pay £25m for Koulibaly – could prove a controversial loophole, understandably leaving other clubs desperate for action.
Karim Benzema has already completed his shock free transfer to Al-Ittihad after 14 years with Real Madrid.
It comes six months after Cristiano Ronaldo stunned the football world by accepting a whopping £173m-a-year contract to join Al-Nassr.
Ronaldo said after the Benzema deal was sealed: “I knew that me going to Saudi Arabia would open a box and I wasn’t wrong.
“I’m sure in a couple of years or three, this league is going to be one of the most important leagues in the world.
“Karim left already and I am 1000 per cent sure that many more players will.”

Ex-Man Utd star explains why club should NOT sign Mbappe as he warns Ten Hag may regret missing out on Kane transfer

Erik ten Hag will regret not signing Harry Kane, according to Louis SahaCredit: Getty
United have been strongly linked with both forwards this summer, with their futures at Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur uncertain.
However, it is unclear who will end up joining Erik ten Hag’s side before the transfer window closes.
Saha has given his verdict on Mbappe and Kane, though, telling Compare.bet that he believes the Frenchman would not be the right fit.
He explained: “Both Neymar and Mbappe have a similar profile – they are superstars that come with a lot of distractions and situations the manager has to cope with.
    READ MORE MAN UTD NEWS
“They come with big entourages and lots of press following them and they require lots of management.
“This isn’t the best fit for Ten Hag’s Manchester United. It’s about strong discipline, consistency and putting the team first.
“Neymar and Mbappe are two of the most talented players in the world, but a move to United would require them to adapt and follow the team’s rules, rather than for those superstars to impose their own style.”
PSG are thought to be open to selling Mbappe this summer, who has confirmed he will not be extending his deal beyond next year.

United are one of a number of clubs to have since been linked and could table a potential swap deal once their takeover is completed.
As for Kane, Saha has warned Ten Hag that he will regret not signing England’s record goalscorer.
He added: “Any player other than Harry Kane is going to be a gamble, and I think United will regret it if they don’t go in for Kane.
“Look, if you can find another Haaland — someone who can come in and score 50 goals in their first season — then go for it, but I doubt they’ll find someone like that.

“Kane is the only player who won’t need time to adapt and will be ready to perform and score goals immediately.”
United had been lauded as Kane’s only choice if he was to leave Spurs this summer, but the club’s interest is thought to have cooled.
Fearing Spurs will not sell to a Premier League rival, the Red Devils are instead pushing to sign Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund ahead of next season. More

The likes of Anthony Elanga, Donny van de Beek, Brandon Williams, Alex Telles and Harry Maguire have all been transfer listed, along with out-of-favour defender Bailly.

Bailly spent this season on loan at Marseille, but he was limited to just 23 appearances across all competitions.
The Ligue 1 side had no intention of triggering his £6m option to buy, so the Red Devils have put the defender on the market for even less.
