      But the ceremony was so in-demand not even Miami forward Leonardo Campana could get enough tickets.
      So it shocked DeAndre Yedlin & Co when the main man himself surprisingly popped up to save the day.
      Yedlin told media: “Actually for the little event that he had, well, I say little event…
      “The big event that he had on Sunday, Campana was looking for tickets and he put in the group chat, ‘Hey, does anybody have any tickets?’

      “And then I didn’t even know that Leo was in or Messi was in the group chat yet.
      “But he popped up straight away and said, ‘How many do you need though?’ Straight away like that.
      “So just from there I was like, ‘Wow.’ Straight off the bat. They’ve known each other for maybe, I dunno two days, three days or something.
      “But just to show that generosity, that is a great first example of how he is.”

      Messi, 36, left boyhood club Barcelona in 2021 amid their financial woes and signed for PSG.

      Andre Onana, 27, is set to sign for United after a deal worth up to £47.2MILLION was finally sorted with Inter Milan.
      The keeper has already flown in and will put pen to paper on a five-year deal, with the option of a sixth, after undergoing his medical.
      However, that is only one part of Erik ten Hag’s goalkeeping problem resolved.
      United stopper Dean Henderson spent last season on loan at Nottingham Forest after a fall-out with the club.

      He is being heavily linked with a permanent move to the City Ground after recovering from the thigh surgery that ruled him out for the last few months of the campaign.
      Henderson recently claimed that he “p***ed off the Dutch manager” and believes “he is not in line for a comeback” as he revealed he did not want Ten Hag to see him training as he believed the boss would want to keep him.

      And backup goalie Tom Heaton is also wanted by both Luton Town and Everton.
      That has left Ten Hag searching for another keeper to join his squad with the above two expected to be given the green light to leave should they get adequate cover.

      SunSport understands Championship duo Cardiff and Rotherham have also eyed up Savage.
      And Reading’s League One rivals Portsmouth are keen on the United starlet, 20, as well.
      Savage, son of ex-Wales and Leicester midfielder Robbie, spent last season on loan at Forest Green Rovers.

      Despite relegation for Forest Green to League Two, Wales Under-21 international Savage impressed on his first spell away from the Red Devils.

      But Savage was not in Erik ten Hag’s squad for today’s 1-0 friendly win against Lyon in Edinburgh.
      He was also not selected in the 31-man senior squad to go on tour to the United States.

      According to The Athletic, Newcastle have agreed a fee with the Foxes to sign Barnes.
      The report adds that personal terms will not be an issue ahead of the deal being completed.
      Barnes has been strongly linked with Newcastle throughout the summer following Leicester’s relegation from the Premier League.
      He has been one of a number of players that the club had been keen to sell ahead of their return to the Championship.

      James Maddison has already been sold to Tottenham, alongside the free transfer exits of Youri Tielemans and Caglar Soyuncu.
      Barnes top scored for Leicester last season, scoring 13 goals in 34 league appearances last summer.
      His performances had attracted top flight interest in the 25-year-old winger this summer.
      Both Arsenal and Spurs had also been linked with Barnes but it is Newcastle who now appear set to win the race for his signature.

      And the Independent claim the German giants believe they have everything in place to complete a deal – apart from Daniel Levy’s approval.
      Bayern chiefs met with Spurs supremo Levy in London last Thursday.
      But they still have not been able to agree a fee for Kane, whose contract expires next summer.
      Bayern have so far had two bids worth up to £80million rejected for the striker as Levy holds out for at least £100m.

      And should the Bundesliga giants offer that fee, Spurs have reportedly already identified Kane’s successor.
      That man is 26-year-old Brazil striker Pedro – having helped his club Flamengo to a Copa Libertadores title.
      The forward has played in Europe before for Fiorentina where he endured a tough spell – but has since resurrected his career in the Brazilian Serie A.
      Pedro scored 26 and added four assists in his 35 appearances for Flamengo last season.

      Mahrez is now set to undergo a medical in Saudi tomorrow, becoming the third Premier League star to join Al-Ahli this summer.

      However, he also insisted that he did not want to be sold this summer.

      But PSG chiefs are completely opposed to that idea.

      They sent a three-page letter to Mbappe earlier this month, giving him a deadline of July 31 to make a decision about his future.
      Club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has told the striker that he must pen a new deal or else he will have to be sold this summer.
      PSG have grown increasingly frustrated over the situation in recent weeks, with officials blasting Mbappe for causing “enormous harm” to the club.
      And according to The Athletic, they have not ruled out the possibility of benching him next season if he does not sign a new deal or leave.

      BENJAMIN Mendy’s new football club website crashed as the player’s shock transfer was revealed today. The French World Cup winner, 29, has signed for Ligue 1 side FC Lorient until June 2025 – just days after he was cleared of rape.

      Mendy left Manchester City by mutual consent last month at the end of his contract, having not played for the Premier League and Champions League winners since 2021.
      And Lorient confirmed they had signed the left-back on a two-year contract on Wednesday morning.
      However, within minutes of the transfer announcement at 10am UK time, the club’s website went down.
      Fans flooded the page to read the press release but were unable to get on before the site later recovered.

      One Twitter user said: “FC Lorient’s website has crashed following the announcement that they have signed left-back Benjamin Mendy from Manchester City.”
      Another wrote: “The Lorient website is broken.”
      A statement from his new club, based in Brittany, read: “FC Lorient is pleased to announce today the signing for two seasons of French international left-back Benjamin Mendy (29).
      “After having satisfied the traditional medical examination, Benjamin Mendy, world champion 2018, quadruple winner of the Premier League under the colours of Manchester City and French champion of Ligue 1 with Monaco in particular, comes to reinforce the Lorient workforce for this new season.

      Mendy was cleared of rape and attempted rape at Chester Crown Court last week.

      The footballer was also found not guilty of raping a 24-year-old woman in his bedroom at his £4.8m mansion in Prestbury, Cheshire, two years later.
      On Friday evening he celebrated his freedom with pals by going out.
      And he turned up at the Pitts complex in Ardwick, Manchester, on Sunday for a kickabout with strangers.
      An onlooker said: “Mendy turned up and asked some lads if he could join in.
      “They couldn’t believe it – getting to play against a Premier League star and a World Cup winner.
