That has led Rangers bosses to explore their options and an approach was made to Potter’s representatives.

He was approached by Leicester immediately after leaving Stamford Bridge.
It came after the Foxes had axed Brendan Rodgers as they battled relegation.

The former striker netted 414 goals while starring for the likes of Real, AC Milan, Inter, Barcelona and Brazil.

According to journalist Tony Banks, Ronaldo once accidentally agreed to play for Fulham.
During his Real Madrid Galactico days, he ended up in London doing a book-signing event at Knightsbridge superstore Harrods – owned at the time by Al Fayed.
The billionaire, who passed away this month aged 94, cheekily asked Ronaldo to turn out on the pitch at Craven Cottage.
And due to the language barrier, Ronaldo accidentally agreed to play.

However, it was a serious matter for Al Fayed, who several weeks later demanded Ronaldo was thrust into Fulham’s starting XI for an upcoming Premier League clash.
Banks told the Fulhamish podcast: “Ronaldo comes to Harrods for a book signing.
“He’s at Real Madrid at the time knocking in the goals.
“He’s signing his autobiography in Harrods and Al Fayed wonders into the room and says ‘you can come and play for Fulham’.
“Ronaldo’s not very good with his English and says: ‘Yeah, yeah, sometime’.
“Two weeks later, Andy Ambler (Fulham’s then-finance director) gets a call in the office.
“(Al Fayed tells him): ‘Get Ronaldo in for Saturday’. Ambler replies: ‘What do you mean?’
“Fayed says: “He said he’ll play for Fulham one day – well I want him Saturday’.” More

The 30-year-old has been training with The Hammers and is said to have impressed during his time with the club so far.
Lingard spent time on loan at the London Stadium during the 2020-21 campaign – scoring nine goals in 16 appearances.
The midfielder returned to parent club Manchester United that summer before joining Nottingham Forest in 2022 – despite interest from West Ham.
But last season’s exploits with Forest didn’t see the former England International reach the heights of his West Ham loan spell.

Lingard struggled to stay fit and when he did he was rarely picked by Tricky Trees boss Steve Cooper.
He featured just 17 times in the league all season and failed to put up any numbers when it came to goals and assists.
Speaking on TalkSPORT, West Ham boss Moyes hinted at the prospect of Lingard earning a contract.
He said: “Jesse has trained with us for three weeks and he’s improved greatly from when he first came in.

“He’s in really good condition – much better condition than he was when he first came in.”
Lingard’s short spell for the Irons assisted the East London side to finish sixth making the cut for the Europa League.
Moyes continued: “I have to say, when Jesse joined us two years ago I think he scored nine goals in 15 games and was probably the difference between us getting into Europe for the first time.
“I want to give him every opportunity to get himself back in condition and see how he does.
“So there’s no real update on it at the moment, just to say that he’s back and getting much closer to the levels of fitness where you’d hope he would be.”
The Scotsman will be hoping that a spell in East London can help Lingard return to his imperious form of 2021.
The Europa Conference champs are unbeaten in four Premier League games this season with their next game against last season’s treble winners Man City this Saturday. More

The 22-year-old has become one of the best young left-backs in football.
Davies burst onto the scene in the MLS with Vancouver Whitecaps before his record-breaking transfer to Bayern Munich in 2018.
Within a year the Candian had established himself as a first-team regular and has progressed to be among the world’s top left-backs – known for his blistering pace, dribbling and crossing ability.
He has had a remarkable start for the Bundesliga side scoring eight goals in 156 appearances.

Davies has also picked up some silverware along the way winning five Bundesliga titles and the Champions League in 2020.
He scored Canada’s first World Cup goal ever at Qatar 2022, putting his penalty miss disappointment behind him from the first match to head in against Croatia.
The left-back’s success has led to transfer attention and Spanish outlet Marca claim Davies has been linked with a move to Real Madrid.
Ancelotti is on the hunt to bolster his defence as Ferland Mendy’s calf injury means his future at the club is uncertain, the report claims.

However, it is believed Real Madrid will wait until summer 2024 to try and sign the full-back.
Davies previously revealed he struggles with loneliness in Germany meaning a move to the Spanish capital could be something that appeals to the star.
Davies’s contract with the Bavarian side does not come to an end until June 2025.
Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel may be reluctant to let his star player go.
But if Davies does depart next summer he would join new Real Madrid youngsters Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouameni and Jude Bellingham. More
