Alonso, 32, has a contract with Barcelona that runs out in June and the Catalan giants are not expected to offer him a renewal.
The Spaniard is thinking about other options and according to the Spanish outlet Sport, he has received numerous offers from other clubs.

Meanwhile, Manchester United plotted a swoop for Alonso before the summer transfer deadline.

The Red Devils were scouring the market for cover after Luke Shaw was ruled out for several months with a muscle injury.
But the former Chelsea player may no longer be on Erik ten Hag’s radar, as Shaw has resumed training and United landed Sergio Reguilon on loan from Spurs instead.
However, other offers in England could turn Alonso’s head away from Arabia and see him head back to the Premier League, the report claims.

He helped Xavi’s side regain the La Liga title last term but his place was not guaranteed for the new season due to Financial Fair Play restrictions.
Despite having his spot retained Alonso has still struggled for game time this campaign, having only made four league appearances.
Alonso has fallen down Xavi’s pecking order, with first-choice left-back Alejandro Balde and now loanee Joao Cancelo ahead of him.
With a return to the Premier League potentially on the cards the former Chelsea man will hope to have further success in English top-flight football.

Bayern Munich ‘considering three transfer options’ to replace Manuel Neuer… despite legend signing new contract

BAYERN MUNICH are reportedly scouting three potential long-term replacements for Manuel Neuer.Club legend Neuer, 37, signed a one-year contract extension with the Bundesliga giants earlier this week.

The goalkeeper was limited to just 16 appearances across all competitions last season due to a horrific leg injury sustained on a ski trip in December.
He returned to competitive action in October and has since made seven appearances.
Neuer fit straight back into the Bayern starting line-up to prove that he still has what it takes to compete at the top level.
And he was handed a new deal as a result, with back-up keeper Sven Ulreich also extending.

Discussing Neuer’s new contract, manager Thomas Tuchel said: “As long as he feels as good and keeps it as he is. We’re not giving it any limits. Then he can stand in goal for as long as he wants.”
But although the Germany international has committed his future to Bayern Munich, club officials have already started scouting his potential long-term replacement.
AC Milan keeper Mike Maignan, Switzerland international Gregor Kobel and on-loan Alexander Nubel are being considered.
Nubel is currently on loan at Stuttgart from Bayern and has impressed in recent performances.

Sheffield Wednesday owner Chansiri ready to spend big on striker loan transfer as he U-turns on Scrouge-like pledge

SHEFFIELD  WEDNESDAY  owner Dejphon Chansiri seems eager to throw big money on a striker loan next month. The controversial supremo reckons paying top dollar for a marksman could save rock-bottom Owls from the drop.

With the hunt now on, the Championship side may even pay around £30,000 a week for the right man.
A remarkable turnaround for Chansiri, who recently asked fans to help subsidise the club.
Last month SunSport revealed the Thai owner would not sell the up even if they were relegated back to League One.
In a shock statement in September, the 55-year-old refused to commit more money to the club.

He said: “Hello to all Sheffield Wednesday fans.
“I have thought about making this statement for some time and it is extremely difficult for me to do something that I never thought I would have to do.
“But in the end, I think it is the time to say some things that I feel I have to say before it is too late.
“First of all, I would like to thank all the fans who have supported the club so well over the past nine years or so since I came to Sheffield Wednesday.

“There has been joy and sorrow, the joy we have shared together and in times of sorrow we have supported each other.
“Right now, we are not in a good situation in the table and I believe that supporters have every right to voice opinions, speak from the heart and say anything you wish about the football.
“That is the nature of the game, which I always respect. But I also believe there are limits to balance for the benefits of the club and all other stakeholders as a whole.”
He added: “We all love Sheffield Wednesday and I am a supporter as well as the owner who must love and care for the club more than anyone else because of the position I am in as chairman.
“I must take responsibility for everything at the club, including the financial support which is something I always do. But from now, I will not put additional money into the club.
“If you say you are the owner and I am the custodian, then show me how to be the good owner and help save your club. You want me to leave but you want me to spend money?
“If you want me to leave, then show me how to run the club and invest the money before I do that.
“You have no right to ask me to leave. I am the one who saved the club and spent the money for the club, I am the one who needs to pay around £2m on average every month.
“Some fans need to have more respect for owners of clubs and not be so selfish, thinking of their own benefit without doing anything good to the club.
“This is not acceptable and as a result I am not willing to inject more money while I am being treated unfairly by those fans.
“The club needs support from everyone during difficult times. In football, there are good times and not so good times.
“It is easy to celebrate good times but we must support each other in difficult times.”
Chansiri bought the Owls from Milan Mandaric in 2015 but has come under fire over recent months.

LOAN players may be the option to boost Crystal Palace’s squad. The Eagles were after a right-back and striker but now need midfield cover due to Cheick Doucoure’s injury.

Top targets like Blackburn’s Adam Wharton are too dear but Palace can take two on loan from Premier League clubs, so they plan to focus efforts in that market.
Rovers youngster Wharton has excelled in the middle of the park under Jon Dahl Tomasson at Ewood Park.
SunSport revealed Palace, Newcastle, Brighton and Everton were all interested in making January swoops for the 19-year-old, who is also a reported target for Tottenham.
Doucoure is expected to miss the rest of the season in a major blow to Roy Hodgson.

The Malian ace, 23, snapped his Achilles in last weekend’s 2-1 defeat at Luton while seemingly innocuously passing the ball unchallenged.
He screamed in pain and was taken off on a stretcher before being spotted leaving Kenilworth Road on crutches and wearing a protective boot before scans revealed the extent of the damage.
And that leaves a gaping hole in the 12th-placed Eagles’ midfield.
That is despite the arrival of Jefferson Lerma in the summer.

Palace’s two recognised right-backs are Nathaniel Clyne, 32, and Joel Ward, 34.
However, the pair’s contracts both expire in the summer.
An extra striker remains on Hodgson’s New Year wishlist.
Odsonne Edouard and Jean-Philippe Mateta have shared the No9 responsibilities so far this term.
Edouard, 25, has five Premier League goals in 12 appearances.
But Mateta is yet to get off the mark from ten games – totalling just shy of 400 minutes.

But he will get funds for a top replacement, ideally on loan, for the promotion push.
Nottingham Forest’s Joe Worrall and Leeds’ Charlie Cresswell are in their sights.
Worrall, 26, is currently out of favour at Forest and a loan may work for both him and the club.
Cresswell, 21, is on the fringe of the Leeds side but they may be unwilling to help a promotion rival.

Middlesbrough endured a sticky start to the season after their strong finish under Carrick last year.

Barcelona could release Robert Lewandowski on FREE TRANSFER as bizarre contract clause is revealed

BARCELONA could reportedly release Robert Lewandowski as a free agent thanks to a bizarre clause in his contract. The Polish striker, 35, controversially joined the LaLiga giants from Bayern Munich for £42.5million in 2022, signing a four-year deal.

And he continued his remarkable goalscoring with 33 goals in 46 games in his debut season at the Nou Camp – plus a further eight in 16 so far this term.
However, Sport claim Barca may have the option to terminate Lewandowski’s contract a year early at the end of the 2024-25 campaign.
That would be dependent on how the former Bayern man gets on in his third season with Barcelona.
It is said the club will be allowed to trigger the unusual clause if Lewandowski does not play in at least 55 per cent of Barcelona’s matches in 2024-25 – either starting or playing at least 45 minutes.
    READ MORE ON FOOTBALL
Lewandowski’s multi-million-pound wages change in each of the four years of his initial contract.
But letting him leave for free in the summer of 2025 – when the striker turns 37 – would save the club around £22.3m in wages.
Barca continue to struggle with massive debts and are constantly looking for ways to reduce costs.
So the option to take an ageing Lewandowski off the payroll early if he is not a regular on the pitch could be appealing.

But they were reliant on cheap deals in the transfer market as Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo arrived on loan while Ilkay Gundogan and Inigo Martinez were free agents.
Oriol Romeu cost just £3m from Girona as the club brought in cash for Nico Gonzalez, Franck Kessie, Abde Ezzalzouli and Ousmane Dembele, the latter joining PSG for £43m.
