The winger only managed a mere 12 goals and six assists in 82 games with the Red Devils until his public fallout with manager Erik ten Hag in September saw him getting exiled from the first team.
Ten Hag left him out of his squad for the crunch Premier League clash against Arsenal due to his “performances in training”.
The England international then hit back on social media claiming he was turned into a “scapegoat” by the Dutch tactician.
The 23-year-old couldn’t find his way back to the first team and that led to a return to Dortmund on loan.

BVB have brought Sancho back to the Signal Iduna Park until the end of the season after an agreement that doesn’t include an option to buy.
The Bundesliga giants paid a loan fee of £3m and will cover part of the Manchester City academy graduate’s wages.
Ex-Dortmund superstar Haaland was very happy to see Sancho returning to his old stomping grounds where he will get a chance to rediscover his old form.
The star striker spent a year in Germany playing with United’s struggling ace, who registered a whopping 50 goals and 64 assists in 137 appearances.

And the Norway international celebrated that move by taking to social media and sharing a picture of Sancho putting the Dortmund shirt back on.

In October, the German outfit suspended him after he reacted angrily to being substituted during a Champions League clash with Napoli.
Fofana, who joined Chelsea for £8million 12 months ago, snubbed a handshake from Union manager Urs Fischer for which the club issued him with a one-week ban.
He later apologised for his actions.
Now Chelsea have confirmed he has returned to West London, but he is expected to leave on loan again before the end of the month.

Last week, it was reported Sevilla are keen to bring Fofana in for the rest of the campaign.
The LaLiga side are down in 16th place in the Spanish top flight and have scored just 23 goals in 19 matches.
Fofana made four appearances for Chelsea last season before being sent on loan in the summer.

He finally got off the mark in the Bundesliga by scoring against Koln in the last game before the winter break last month.
Fofana has been capped three times by the Ivory Coast but failed to make the cut for their Africa Cup of Nations squad.
Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino is still searching for a top-level striker to lead the line despite the Blues having spent £1billion over the last 18 months.
Cole Palmer, Armando Broja and Nicolas Jackson have all been used up front in recent weeks.
Chelsea sit 10th in the Premier League table, 12 points adrift of the top four.
And they were beaten 1-0 away at Middlesbrough in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final on Tuesday night. More

Many clubs tried to move the legendary midfielder away from Merseyside, such as Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Chelsea who almost landed him shortly after the Miracle of Istanbul.
However, the loyal Liverpool soldier stayed put at Anfield until 2015 when he flew across the pond for LA Galaxy and retired a year later.
Legendary United manager Sir Alex Ferguson also tried to test Gerrard’s devotion when he asked Neville to approach him ahead of Euro 2004 when they both played for England
The Merseysiders’ popular captain, though, “categorically” rejected the former full-back’s pitch insisting he is never leaving Liverpool.

Neville said on the latest edition of Stick to Football as per Sky Bet: “Stevie told this in his book, where I went into his room with England and asked him to sign for Manchester United.
“I was meeting up with England for the Euros, and he [Ferguson] rang me and said it’s ambitious, but his words were, ‘Tell him I’ll go and fetch him, and I’ll walk him back down the East Lancs’.
“I went to see Stevie, and he quite categorically [rejected it] pretty quickly.
“He said he would never get out of Liverpool and his family would never get out of Liverpool.”

Gerrard caught wind of Neville’s recent revelation and pulled no punches as he took to Instagram to response.
The Al-Ettifaq manager doubled down on his previous claims by stating he was only trying to be polite to the now Sky Sports pundit when he actually wanted to tell him something much worse.

Dortmund announced the move with a short statement that read: “I’m back.”
Sancho appeared to make a dig at Erik ten Hag as he sealed the move, saying he “can’t wait to play football with a smile” again.
On rejoining his former club, the winger said: “When I came into the dressing room today, it felt like coming home.
“I know the club inside and out, I’ve always been very close with the fans here and I’ve never lost contact with those in charge.

“I can’t wait to see my team-mates again, go out on the pitch, play football with a smile on my face, assist goals, score goals and help qualify for the Champions League.”
Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl said: “Jadon is an absolute difference player and I’m looking forward to seeing him back in black and yellow soon.

“He knows this city, Signal Iduna Park, our fans and our club.
“Even though he hasn’t played any competitive games in the past few months, we are sure that he will quickly settle back in with us, get into top form and use his qualities to help us achieve our goals for the season.”

Sancho is looking to revive his career after spending four months in exile at Manchester United.
He has not played any football since his public fall out with Ten Hag.
Sancho was left out of the squad for United’s trip to Arsenal in September with the boss citing his “performances in training.”
The attacker then took to social media and claimed he was made a “scapegoat” by Ten Hag.
He then refused to apologise and was banned from training and all first-team facilities.
Sancho returns to Dortmund after spending four years there from 2017 to 2021.
The fans’ favourite scored 50 goals and got 64 assists in 137 games, earning him a £73million move to Man Utd.
But he has suffered a nightmare at Old Trafford, struggling to hit top form as he found the back of the net just 12 times in 82 games.
The 23-time capped England star also managed a paltry six assists.
Ex-United star Louis Saha slammed him as one of the club’s “biggest transfer failures” ever when speaking to Paddy Power.
Sancho’s Red Devils contract runs until 2026 and his parent club are reportedly paying £100,000 of his weekly £290,000 salary while he is in Germany.
Dortmund supposedly do not have an option to buy included in the loan deal.

Real Madrid are in talks with the superstar but no agreement has been struck.
Reports suggest that Mbappe will have to take a pay cut to secure a move to Los Blancos.
And Real Madrid have put an end of January deadline on discussions to force him to pen a pre-contract.
This has reportedly left Mbappe “unimpressed” with their approach as he planned to make a decision later this year.

Haaland’s agent Rafaela Pimenta revealed in November that the striker is open to a transfer in the future.

“When they all are open to make a change, it will happen.
“Erling will always be respectful. For sure respect has to be on both club and player side. I’ve no doubts, Man City will respect him.
“If something has to happen one day, we will agree on every step together with the club. It’s always about respect.”
His dad Alf-Inge previously suggested his son wants to play all over Europe, saying: “I think Erling wants to test out his capabilities in every league.
“Then he can stay in every league for three to four years maximum.
“He could have two-and-a-half years in Germany, two-and-a-half in England, and then in Spain, Italy, France, right?” More

His form could now earn him a move to the Emirates Stadium as Mikel Arteta looks to sign a new striker this month.
Ivan Toney was the Spaniard’s first-choice to galvanise his misfiring frontline.
However, Bees boss Thomas Frank has also warned off an approach and Brentford slapped a huge £100million asking price on the 27-year-old.
Instead, Arteta is now looking to La Liga for a cheaper alternative to his striker woes.

Mayoral was also tipped as a target for Brentford last month, as a potential replacement for Toney, with Fulham also linked.
But SunSport understands that it is the Gunners who have tabled a bid worth £22million for Mayoral.
Getafe have knocked back their initial offer as they hold out for closer to £39m for their star striker.
The 26-year-old has been followed closely by Arsenal since November after scoring 12 league goals for Getafe so far this term.

Mayoral completed a permanent move to the Deep Blues in 2022 after an initial loan spell.
He was previously linked with a Premier League move a year earlier, with Crystal Palace targeting the then Roma man.

Dier has hardly featured under Ange Postecoglou, starting just once this season.
With Tottenham beating Bayern to a deal for Genoa defender Radu Dragusin on Wednesday, Dier could be on the verge of sealing a Spurs exit.
According to Sky Sport Germany, Dier has emerged as one of the Bundesliga giants’ top targets.
He adds that Bayern would pay £3.5million for the out-of-favour ace.

And that Dier could agree an 18 month contract, with Bayern possessing an option to extend by a further 12 months.
The defender joined Tottenham from Sporting Lisbon in a £4m deal in 2014.
He has gone on to play 364 times for Spurs, including in the 2019 Champions League final.
During his time at Tottenham he has also earned 49 England caps, going to the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.

While he has been heavily linked with a move to Bayern, Dier trained with Spurs as normal on Wednesday.
In addition to Dragusin’s imminent arrival, Tottenham have announced the loan signing of Timo Werner from RB Leipzig.
Upon joining Spurs, Werner said: “One-and-a-half years ago I left England, I watched the Premier League, not too much to follow every single club but Tottenham was always a club which I watched.
“When I joined my old club, I said I wanted to be a winner and I wanted to win titles at the end, and in the end we won the Champions League so I think it shouldn’t be too bad to say that I’ve come here to also win titles and to win something.”

Five Championship stars destined for the Premier League including ex-Arsenal star and winger dreaming of Ballon d’Or

He didn’t get much of a look-in under Chris Wilder but Michael Carrick has certainly shown plenty of belief in him and he certainly showed how good he is by shining in midfield against one of the Premier League’s marquee clubs.
Manchester United and Tottenham are said to be ready to pounce for the youngster although anyone wanting him will almost certainly have to wait for the summer.
During transfer windows, Premier League clubs are always being linked with players from overseas but here are FIVE other Championship players that really should be a target for top clubs.
    Jobe Bellingham (Sunderland)

Wanting to write his own football story — and not simply be known as the brother of a Real Madrid and England international — the Sunderland kid insisted he wanted the name Jobe on the back of his shirt rather than Bellingham.
Has a lot of similar attributes to his brother in terms of his physique and maturity.
Thought he was outstanding away at Leicester when the Black Cats gave the runaway Championship leaders a tough evening.
A huge chunk of Bellingham’s minutes have come as a false nine, though he’s also been used behind a more traditional striker and in a deeper midfield position.

    Conor Chaplin (Ipswich)
Conor Chaplin has eight goals and seven assists for Ipswich this termCredit: Getty
Ipswich simply cannot function as well as they have been this season without him.
His eight goals don’t tell the story. His pressing is out of this world. His blocks, interceptions and ball recovery has played a huge part in Ipswich’s success story this season.
I’ve watched him a number of times and he’s been one of the standout players. He was outstanding down at Southampton in October and he pops up with vital goals like the winner I saw him net at QPR.
It’s crazy to think this talent has been overlooked by bigger clubs. Thought he was great when he was at Barnsley too. Was huge for the Tykes during his two years there.
The high press McKenna likes is not as effective without Chaplin — and without his energy up top I feel Ipswich would be a mid-table team. He has been that good for them.
    Leif Davis (Ipswich)
The Tractor Boys can also call upon left-back Leif DavisCredit: Getty
The 23-year-old left-back has been Ipswich’s best player and the Geordie practically owns the left side of the pitch for the Tractor Boys.
Has nine assists so far this season and is simply scintillating.
I was at Elland Road, though, when he had a tough afternoon against his former club Leeds when his side were walloped 4-0.
However, that was just a bad day at the office. Although he is a full-back, his attacking numbers are higher than most wingers.
If Ipswich don’t go up, he will surely be in the Premier League next season.
    Stephy Mavididi (Leicester)

The Foxes are winning the Championship at a canter and one of their star players has been without question the 25-year-old winger who came through the youth system at Arsenal — but ended up going to Juventus and Montpelier to really learn his trade.
Did have some EFL experience with loans at Charlton and Preston as well.
Lots of pace and up near the top of the assists charts, he has been tearing it up in English football’s second tier and does look a cut above many of his opponents.
Knows where the goal is too — and has nine to his name already this season, including a nice one I saw him score against Southampton at St Mary’s where he ripped them to shreds in an easy 4-1 win.
With the Foxes flying though, you would think they should be able to keep hold of him as their promotion to the Premier League is all but guaranteed.
    Jaden Philogene (Hull)
Hull’s Jaden Philogene dreams of winning the Ballon d’OrCredit: Alamy
Interviewed the winger a couple of months ago and he told me his ambition is to win the Ballon d’Or.
What a bold statement. But I like that from a 21-year-old — lots of confidence but also prepared to work hard to reach his goal.
Ok, he is millions or miles away from that as a Hull player right now — but has has been previously linked with moves to Liverpool, Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
Philogene came through the ranks at Aston Villa and many people thought he was going to get a look-in this season — but Unai Emery decided to let him move down into the Championship with Hull.
But in Liam Rosenior he has a manager who has shown a lot of faith in him and who is giving him lots of game time to develop.
