Laura Woods and Ally McCoist were left in stitches by Neil Warnock’s assessment
    McCoist could hardly contain himself
The Huddersfield manager insisted he would rather hold on to his current back-four than have Pedro Porro, Cristian Romero, Eric Dier or Ivan Perisic at John Smith’s Stadium.
Warnock told talkSPORT: “You couldn’t predict Tottenham losing five after 20 minutes.
“And I’m thinking, ‘Would you have any of them back four instead of my back four?’ I’d rather have Huddersfield.”
Tottenham found themselves down by five goals after just 21 minutes at St James’ Park.

Woods asked the experienced manager how he would have handled the situation after the Toon’s third goal.
Warnock bluntly responded: “I would have gone home.”
Woods and McCoist were left laughing their socks off but the 74-year-old tactician wasn’t done with his brutal assessment just yet.
The ex-Crystal Palace manager appeared to agree with Tottenham’s decision of sacking interim manager Cristian Stellini and replacing him with the also inexperienced Ryan Mason.

The Huddersfield boss also advised Mauricio Pochettino not to return to North London and go to Chelsea instead.
Warnock added: “I’m thinking, I’ve never seen anything like it. I couldn’t believe it. No disrespect, but you can’t put somebody like that [Stellini] in charge.
“I remember when [Antonio] Conte left and I said, ‘You mark my words – you have a listen at what he said – that dressing room’s gotta be decimated. Gotta be gutted’.
“I wouldn’t envy anybody coming in there now. If Pochettino’s got any sense he’d go to Chelsea [because] all they need is a centre-forward.” More

Ex-Man Utd star urges Erik ten Hag to SNUB Harry Kane transfer and move for his England team-mate to solve striker woes

The club have already started to make moves to bring him in and are ready to give Kane £300,000-a-week.
However, Dublin, who played 15 times for Man Utd, thinks that the club should instead go for Brentford captain Ivan Toney.
Dublin told William Hill: “In my opinion, he is good enough to go and play for Manchester United, and I think he’d only get better if he went there.
“Erik ten Hag likes a big striker and they need a proven goalscorer so maybe they should take a look at Ivan Toney.”

The forward has been in impressive form this season, helping the Bees mount a challenge for a European finish.
He has netted an incredible 19 goals in 30 Premier League matches this term.
The 27-year-old has been linked with a move to Man Utd in the past and the club were reportedly monitoring him.
However, rumours suggest that a transfer could be prevented by Toney expecting to a receive a lengthy ban after betting breaches.

Brendan Rodgers would be an excellent choice for next Spurs manager, but delusional Tottenham fans could ruin it

IF Tottenham fans thought they had reached rock-bottom at Newcastle on Sunday, with their bullet-ridden team 5-0 down after 21 minutes, then they should consider this very real possibility. That Mauricio Pochettino — the best Spurs manager of the last half-century, who had made it clear he fancied a return there — turns up at Chelsea and makes a success of it.

It is difficult to quantify which of these bitter London rivals are in the biggest hole right now.
Is it Spurs, torched by their own manager Antonio Conte, then leaving his hapless mate Cristian Stellini in interim charge, only to sack the caretaker and appoint Ryan Mason as caretaker- caretaker, with sporting director Fabio Paratici having just been banned from world football for 2½ years?
Or is it Chelsea, in the bottom half of the Premier League, having spent £606million and with Poch likely to become their FIFTH boss of the season under a new regime which had boasted about stability and long-term planning?
Either way, either club could have appointed Pochettino to shovel up their sewage. Tottenham weren’t interested and the Blues clearly are.

The vast majority of Spurs fans wanted the Argentinian back. Given that he left on warm personal terms with Daniel Levy in 2019 — and given that little has gone right since — re-hiring Pochettino seemed a no-brainer for a deeply unpopular chairman.
Take out Pochettino’s 5½-year reign, when Spurs massively over-achieved as runners-up in the Champions League and Premier League, and Levy’s 22-year stewardship of Spurs has, in footballing terms, been an unmitigated failure.
That Poch has apparently been blanked by Levy is bizarre even by Tottenham’s standards.
The Stellini experiment failed even more spectacularly than most had predicted, with Spurs in danger of plunging out of the European places completely following their 6-1 thrashing at St James’ Park.

Tottenham were humiliated by Newcastle on SundayCredit: Getty
Two years ago, when Spurs were last in this position — winding down a poor season with Mason in charge — it took them 72 days before they stumbled upon Nuno Espirito Santo.
Then, as now, Julian Nagelsmann was the initial favourite, before he became one of several men to snub the job.
Nagelsmann’s own dalliance with Chelsea appears to have broken down mutually, leaving that door open for Pochettino.
Spurs haven’t had a boss with any true sense of permanence since Poch.
And as a result nobody has been able to act upon the obvious fact that their goalkeeper and captain Hugo Lloris, 36, has been past his best for some time.
That particular chicken came home to roost when a shellshocked Lloris was withdrawn at half-time on Tyneside, claiming a hip injury when a diagnosis of wounded pride seemed more likely.
Either club could have appointed Pochettino to shovel up their sewage. Tottenham weren’t interested and the Blues clearly are.Dave Kidd
Stellini opted for a back four against Newcastle, then decided his decision “might not have been right” when he reverted to a defensive five midway through the first half with his side five-down.
It was possibly the most glaring example in footballing history of shutting the stable door after the horse had bolted.
Until Levy trumped it on Monday by sacking Stellini while branding the performance at Newcastle “wholly unacceptable” and “devastating”.
Stellini, a convicted match-fixer, had one previous managerial job in the Italian third tier, which ended with him being axed after three wins in 16 games. So this isn’t a case of 20-20 hindsight.
Whoever takes charge of Spurs next season — and Brendan Rodgers would be an excellent choice, if an unpopular one with a largely-delusional Spurs support base — it will not be Poch.

When he left Spurs, the fear was he might end up at Arsenal, who were about to sack Unai Emery.
Instead it looks like Chelsea, whose increasingly-bitter rivalry with Spurs has made fixtures between the clubs as heated as North London derbies.
It is not as if Pochettino will be entering any less of a madhouse at Stamford Bridge. But he’ll have better players, and a bigger budget, at Todd Boehly’s comedy club.
And the 51-year-old will not be too bothered about inheriting an unbalanced and bloated squad.
This is a bloke who had Kylian Mbappe and Neymar at Paris Saint-Germain and was then told he was getting Lionel Messi, despite advising his bosses that he did not need the little maestro.
After that exercise in ego management, dealing with the likes of Enzo Fernandez and Mykhailo Mudryk should be plain sailing.
Whoever takes charge of Spurs next season — and Brendan Rodgers would be an excellent choice, if an unpopular one with a largely-delusional Spurs support base — it will not be Poch.Dave Kidd
For all the shambles of Boehly’s first nine months, Chelsea could still compete next term, under an excellent workaholic coach in Pochettino.
That’s provided they sign a world-class centre-forward and sell several players to comply with Financial Fair Play and give them enough space to fit everybody inside the dressing room!
Should Poch make a decent fist of it, and his record suggests he might, anger towards Levy will only grow.
The chairman gave a rare public address recently to the Cambridge Union, in which he told some of the nation’s finest young minds that Spurs are “the greatest club in the world”.

And this is the danger with over-estimating your own intelligence and always believing you are the smartest man in the room.
You end up sounding foolish, you end up 5-0 down after 21 minutes, and you end up allowing the best thing that ever happened to you to fall into the arms of a sworn enemy.

Harry Kane asking price revealed with Man Utd set to be told to pay £20m MORE than Real Madrid and Bayern

TOTTENHAM will make Manchester United pay a premium if they are to beat European suitors to Harry Kane this summer, according to reports.SunSport reported last month that the Red Devils are confident of landing Kane ahead of next season, should Spurs finish outside the top four.
Harry Kane will have one year remaining on his Tottenham contract at the end of the season and European giants are circlingCredit: Getty
With the North Londoners’ Champions League hopes in tatters following their 6-1 mauling at Newcastle, a result that saw Cristian Stellini’s stay as acting head coach come to an abrupt end, United feel that they are well placed to pounce.
The Red Devils would be willing to significantly boost Kane’s current £200,000 a week salary.
And they believe that the 29-year-old would be interested in making the switch after contacting his camp via a third party.
The England captain is viewed as unlikely to extend his contract with Tottenham this summer.

As it stands, the Telegraph claim that Spurs would demand at least £100million from a fellow Premier League club for Kane this summer.
A team from abroad, however, may only be charged around £80m.
Kane is believed to want to stay in the Premier League, as he chases down Alan Shearer’s all-time leading goalscorer record.
Shearer finished on 260, with Kane currently third in the all-time list on 207.

He will likely move to second before the end of the season, with yesterday’s consolation strike against Newcastle moving him to within one of Wayne Rooney.
Kane said in January that there had “not been much talking” with Spurs over a new contract but he was “sure there will be conversations over the coming months”.
Despite Spurs’ woes, their No10 has still managed to bag 24 Prem goals so far this season.
In February he became their all-time leading goalscorer, overtaking the legendary Jimmy Greaves.
Spurs made the decision to axe acting head coach Stellini on Monday following meetings between Daniel Levy and key players.
Kane’s friend and former team-mate Ryan Mason, 31, will be in charge until the end of the season.
Tottenham have been linked with the likes of Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique in their managerial hunt.
While Arne Slot, Vincent Kompany and Ange Postecoglou have also been mentioned.
Popular former boss Mauricio Pochettino, whose name has been sung by fans at recent matches, was reportedly never considered and is on the verge of joining Chelsea.

Newcastle surged into a 5-0 lead inside the opening 21 MINUTES of the game as Spurs were all at sea.
Harry Kane did manage to get one back, but Callum Wilson restored the Magpies’ five-goal advantage.
And after the game, the players still completed the traditional swapping of shirts with the opposition.
Richarlison was spotted swapping his Spurs jersey with former Everton team-mate Anthony Gordon.

The duo were also joined by a very happy-looking Joelinton, a Brazilian compatriot of the Spurs striker.

When asked what he thought about it by talkSPORT host Laura Woods, he replied: “What? No they didn’t.
“Get rid of them,” before he checked to see if it was a wind-up.

    “They’re swapping shirts? It’s 6-1! The game’s gone.”
The former Spurs midfielder then looked to co-host Ally McCoist for some back-up, he asked: “Help me out, Ally.”
And McCoist agreed with the outraged O’Hara, despite admitting he had not seen the images.
He said: “If you get beat 6-1 you just want to get up the tunnel and take your medicine.”
And some Spurs fans agreed with him on social media, as one tweeted: “Spurs players asking to swap shirts with Newcastle players is exactly what’s wrong with that club. Small mentality.”
A second vented: “Lose 6-1 then instantly swap shirts with the other players.”
While a third added: “Spurs just got their asses handed to them.
“You don’t swap shirts with the team that just kicked your ass. Friends or not.” More

Man Utd make first move in £100m Harry Kane transfer but have Plan B if Daniel Levy digs heels in over Tottenham star

MANCHESTER UNITED have reportedly made the first moves to sign Harry Kane this summer. The Red Devils have been linked with the England captain over the last few months as they look to strengthen their attacking options for next season.

Kane, 29, has been in fine form this season despite Spurs’ struggles, scoring 24 goals in 32 Premier League matches.
He has proved to be the most important striker in the league, having contributed to 42 per cent of Spurs’ goal total in the league.
However, it is becoming increasingly likely that he will not sign a new contract at the North London club, according to The Telegraph.
The report also suggests that United are trying to establish the “best way” to make an “early move” for Kane having made him their Plan A option.

It comes after The Sun revealed earlier this month that United had made contact with Kane’s camp through a third party.
We also told how the Red Devils believe they will land him this summer.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is desperate to keep hold of the club’s talisman but with his contract running down it could be an impossible task.
Kane’s deal at Tottenham expires at the end of next season and he would be free to leave the club for nothing.

This is one of the reasons behind United’s haste to iron out a deal as they do not want to be involved in a saga that runs for the length of the window.
If that were to happen, the Old Trafford side would run the risk of missing out on other transfer targets such as Victor Osimhen, who is considered as a Plan B.
United have also been linked with the likes of Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic, Lille’s Jonathan David and Borussia Monchengladbach ace Marcus Thuram in the past.
The report states that Ley’s asking price for Kane will be £100million for Premier League clubs.
Although, there is a suggestion for foreign clubs the price tag would only be £80m.
Kane has been linked with moves to Real Madrid, PSG and Bayern Munich, but his preference is thought to be to stay in England.
Manager Erik ten Hag wants the club to sign two strikers this summer to bolster his attacking options.
Brighton’s breakout star Evan Ferguson is another target for the club, but the Dutch boss is also keen on signing a more experienced forward.

The Times reports that the person alleged to have stolen the artwork, Nabila Habiby, is said to have used some of the art as security to apply for a loan.
The publication also reports that the Metropolitan police charged Habiby in December with a trial set to take place in January at Wood Green Crown Court.
Habiby, from Belgium, was reportedly charged with offences of theft and two of fraud by false representation.
She is believed to have denied wrongdoing.

The artwork of American artist Ron English, dubbed the ‘Godfather of Street Art’, is also alleged to have been stolen.
Davids, 50, is believed to have been made aware of alleged thefts in 2017 and reported them to police.

Jamie Carragher reveals his prediction for Kane summer transfer as Man Utd target Tottenham star

JAMIE CARRAGHER has predicted how Harry Kane’s summer will unfold. The Liverpool legend and Sky Sports pundit DOESN’T believe the Tottenham talisman will join Manchester United.

The Red Devils are keen to add a goalscorer in the summer, and Kane is a reported target.
However, Carragher reckons Daniel Levy will turn down an offer from Old Trafford.
The Spurs chairman rebuffed Manchester City’s efforts to sign Kane in the summer of 2021.
And Carragher reckons Levy will do the same and turn down an approach from the Red Devils in the upcoming transfer window.

He believes United will then turn their attention elsewhere, with Napoli star Victor Osimhen another reported target.
In Carragher’s opinion, Kane will then stay at Spurs as he has his sights set on breaking the all-time Premier League scoring record.
Carragher tweeted on Sunday: “#Kane saga!
“Levy will turn down an offer from MU [Manchester United], who will then have to sign another striker this summer.

But his consolation goal in Sunday’s embarrassing 6-1 defeat to Newcastle took him to 207 Premier League goals.
That is just 53 strikes behind Toon icon Alan Shearer’s all-time record.
