Harry Kane ‘is in contact with European giants over sensational summer transfer’ in huge Man Utd blow

HARRY KANE is still in discussions to join Bayern Munich according to reports in Germany.Journalist Christian Falk claimed on Bild’s transfer podcast that the interest between Kane and Bayern is both “concrete” and “mutual”.

He went on to claim that Bayern have been speaking with Kane’s family around the logistics of relocating to Bavaria.
Falk says that the feeling coming out of Kane’s camp is that the striker is “still thinking” about a move to the Bundesliga.
Bayern have retained an interest in Kane since the end of the season but faced competition from Manchester United and Real Madrid.
However Daniel Levy’s firm £100million price tag has seen both United and Madrid cool their interest in Kane.

United have limited funds available until their takeover is cleared, much to the frustration of manager Erik Ten Hag.
They are unwilling to spend £100m on a 29-year-old that has a year left on his contract.
Madrid meanwhile would struggle to raise the necessary funds having signed Bellingham in a British record £115m deal.
Whether Bayern could afford to stump-up the £100m asking price remains to be seen but Spurs would be tempted to sell to a team outside the Premier League.

The temptation will be particularly strong given Kane will be able to decide his own club next summer when his contract expires.
Bayern are in the market for a striker having failed to replace Robert Lewandoswki after he left for Barcelona last year.
One way in which they could fund the costly deal would be through player sales.
Thomas Tuchel is prepared to let a number of high-profile players go as he enters his first full season in charge.
Benjamin Pavard, Leroy Sane, Serge Gnabry and Sadio Mane are all reportedly transfer listed. More

Maddison, 26, is set to leave relegated Leicester this summer.
The Foxes were hoping for £50million for their prize asset but with one year remaining on his deal, may well have to settle for closer to the £40m mark.
Spurs and Newcastle were leading the race but SunSport understands the Magpies, who are closing in on the £55m signing of AC Milan midfielder Sandro Tonali, have gone quiet on the deal.
A move to St James’ Park cannot be completely ruled out but it leaves Tottenham as front-runners to move for versatile midfielder Maddison, who netted ten goals and grabbed nine assists in the Premier League last term.

Yet first the North Londoners want to address other areas, and after a season where they conceded a whopping 63 league goals, a new centre-back or two are first on the menu.
In their sights are Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo, 25, who made 29 appearances for the Cottagers this term but has only one year left on his contract.
Spurs are also weighing up a move for Bayer Leverkusen’s Burkina Faso ace Edmond Tapsoba, 24.
England defender Marc Guehi, 22, remains a target but Crystal Palace are after a fee of around £50m.

New boss Ange Postecoglou is in need of new faces not just from a quality perspective but also numerically.
Davinson Sanchez is set to leave the club while loanee Clement Lenglet has already gone back to Barcelona.
Though there remains a possibility the French international, 28, who made 35 appearances for Spurs this term, could be re-signed permanently on a cut-price deal if a fee can be agreed.
Tottenham will be looking to trim their squad with no European football next season and a number of loanees returning to an already well-stocked roster.
But Postecoglou will likely want to assess the likes of Gio Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele, farmed out to Villarreal and Napoli respectively last term, before deciding on their futures.
Spurs are close to their second signing of the summer in the form of Italian goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario from Serie A side Empoli.
Reports from the stopper’s homeland have suggested Vicario could even undergo a medical at Spurs on Sunday.
Loanee Dejan Kulusevski has already been signed permanently from Juventus for £25.7m, to be paid over six years.
    ROD’S RETURN
Meanwhile, Rodrigo Bentancur is targeting a return to action in “two or three months” as he continues his recovery from a serious injury.
The Uruguayan, one of Spurs’ best players this term, tore his anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during the 4-1 defeat at Leicester in February.
He has taken a club physio with him to his home country where he has enjoyed time with his family.
But the midfielder will head back to Spurs next week where he plans to stay to continue his recovery and speak to new boss Ange Postecoglou for the first time.
Bentancur, 25, told ESPN: “It’s a long injury, one of the most difficult in football, but the truth is that I’m having such a good time with my family.

“I train the same every day, I do double shifts two or three times a week. I brought the club’s physiotherapist to Uruguay, we continue working and my knee is doing very well.
“I didn’t set a return date, but I hope in two or three months to be at least gaining a few minutes again.”

It is widely believed in his homeland that Inter were lining up a move for the stopper should Chelsea target Andre Onana leave this summer – so Spurs have moved quickly.
Tottenham have been after a new stopper with long-serving captain Hugo Lloris wanting to leave this summer.
They had targeted Brentford’s David Raya but with the Bees’ asking price of £40million proving prohibitive, they have now turned to Vicario.
Reports coming out of Italy have suggested Vicario has already agreed a five-year deal with the North Londoners.

Vicario has had two stellar seasons helping Empoli retain their Serie A status.
New Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou wants a goalkeeper who is comfortable with the ball at his feet and Vicario is understood to have worked on that area considerably of late.
The stopper has earned plenty of admirers at home and abroad for his displays – including from Champions League finalists Inter.

Vicario was born in Udine in North-East Italy and began his career with hometown club Udinese.
    Most read in Football
His route to the Premier League has been far from easy, having to work his way up the Italian lower leagues with the likes of Fontanafredda, Venezia and Perugia.
He finally reached Italy’s top flight with a move to Cagliari in 2020, but it was only when he joined Empoli on loan a year later that he became a Serie A regular, before turning the move permanent last summer.
Vicario is yet to earn a senior cap for Italy but was on the bench for the Azzurri for the Nations League finals this month.
Spurs’ former managing director of football Fabio Paratici, who resigned in April, was understood to be a big fan of Vicario.
Fans will be hoping Vicario proves far more of a success than the last Italian stopper recommended by Paratici in Pierluigi Gollini, who failed to make an impact when joining on loan from Atalanta the season before last. More

The winger amassed 13 goals and three assists in 40 appearances across all competitions.
That has led to a raft of interest from Premier League clubs, such as Spurs and West Ham, who are keen to bring the England international back to the top flight.
According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal are also looking to make a move for the 25-year-old.
This comes after the Gunners’ rivals Tottenham had a £50million bid rejected by Leicester for both Barnes and his team-mate James Maddison.

Spurs’ new manager Ange Postecoglou seems more interested in Maddison.
That could clear the way for Mikel Arteta’s side to pounce for Barnes in the summer.
However, a deal could take a while to complete with the Foxes yet to decide on a fixed release clause.
Much will depend on Leicester’s new manager Enzo Maresca, who is facing the heavy task of swiftly returning the club to the Premier League.

United boss Erik ten Hag is on the lookout for more firepower next season to give Marcus Rashford – who scored a total of 30 goals last year – some competition.
The Red Devil’s chances of landing Kane, 30, from Spurs are dead in the water, with chairman Daniel Levy unwilling to do business for less than £100m.
A client of Mendes, 21-year-old Ramos could fit the bill at Old Trafford instead, having netted 25 times for club and country this term.
Ramos also made his name at the Qatar World Cup for Portugal, bagging a hat-trick against Switzerland in the Last 16 having replaced Cristiano Ronaldo in the starting line-up.

However, Benfica will not accept anything less than £80m – following on from selling Darwin Nunez to Liverpool last summer for £85m.
Mendes is working hard to get his player a Premier League switch, with United the priority, but the likes of Newcastle, West Ham, Aston Villa and Tottenham have also been approached.
Spurs could be in the market for a striker should Kane depart, yet this appears unlikely right now – with Real Madrid the only potential destination.
Real’s £115m splash-out on England starlet Jude Bellingham will limit their spending power for the rest of this window, thus being priced out of a move for the England captain.

New Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou will be desperate for Kane to stay and continue his successful partnership with Son Heung-min, with Richarlison also in the ranks up top.

If the forward doesn’t pen a new contract and stays put at Tottenham then he will be free to sign with an overseas club for free in January. More
