Harry Kane ONLY wants Man Utd transfer and is ready to leave for free next season if Tottenham refuse to sell

HARRY KANE will stay at Spurs for a final season — if he cannot get a move to Manchester United. The England captain has no intention of going abroad while he is just 48 goals away from breaking Alan Shearer’s Prem record tally of 260.

Tottenham are more open to selling Kane to a foreign club than a top-flight rival with Bayern Munich huge admirers of the striker.
But that does not interest Kane, who rattled in another 30 top-flight goals this season and has a year left on his contract.
United are the only viable English option this summer with Kane, who has been at Spurs since age 11, not willing to risk his reputation with the fans by moving to arch- rivals Chelsea or Arsenal.
Newcastle are not in a position to spend north of £100million on one player, despite their Saudi riches.

And Liverpool and Manchester City are not in the market for a striker.
So United need to convince Spurs chief Daniel Levy to sell his prize asset to a domestic rival — something he does not want to do.
SunSport understands Kane wants a switch to Old Trafford or he will run down his deal.
The latter is more probable and could well see England’s 55-goal record scorer leave on a free.

Recently Kane, who is 30 in July, has been talking like a man invested in the future of Spurs.
The Londoners are managerless following Antonio Conte’s sacking in March.
And their eighth-place finish saw them miss out on Europe for the first time since the 2008-09.
Kane spoke earlier this month of his willingness to talk to chairman Levy about his plans and how to change Spurs’ culture.
The striker told Sky Sports: “I always give my all for the team and club.
“Off the pitch to give my opinion on things I think can help us just be more consistent and more successful in the culture that we try to set.”
On the topic of Shearer’s record, Kane said earlier this month: “Now I’m this close to it, for sure, it’s something I’d love to achieve.”

Ex-Barcelona and Spain chief Luis Enrique, 53, has been one of the names mentioned for the vacancy.
He is also one of the bosses Tottenham have been considering for their own managerial post, along with the likes of Celtic chief Ange Postecoglou.
And Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis reckons the Spaniard is more keen on a switch to England.
De Laurentiis told Italian broadcaster Rai: “He is a great coach, he did really well at Barcelona but I think he prefers the Premier League.

“We must remember that we are dealing with leagues that are more appealing than ours, like the English one.
“There are better offers there. I would tell him that he’d find better food here!”
If he does indeed move to Tottenham, one of his biggest tasks could be to persuade Harry Kane to stay at the club.
The Spurs striker, 29, grabbed two goals on the final day of the season at Leeds.

And while other clubs are also in the hunt for the pair, SunSport understands it is Spurs and the Toon who are pushing hardest.
Both are expected to command fees of around £40million, with England star Maddison out of contract at the end of next season.
Though the Foxes would hope any kind of bidding war would drive up the price further.
Leicester would prefer quicker sales so they can put any cash raised towards rebuilding their squad to take on the Championship next term.

The 2016 Premier League champions are in need of a refresh, though it is believed they will look to build around the likes of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Boubakary Soumare next term.
Hamza Choudhury, who spent this season on loan at Watford, will also come back into the mix.

Youri Tielemans and Caglar Soyuncu are leaving on free transfers when their contracts expire at the end of next month.
Maddison has been a long-term target for both Newcastle and Tottenham, with the former having a bid rejected last summer.

The 26-year-old had a stellar season despite his club’s demise, scoring ten goals and grabbing nine assists in the Premier League. He also earned an England recall.
Barnes, 25, hit double figures in the league with 13 strikes.
Newcastle are mindful of FFP rules despite their Saudi oil rich reserves, though they have the added advantage of qualifying for the Champions League.
Spurs failed to qualify for Europe at all, finishing eighth, and have no permanent manager or director of football in post.
Cristian Stellini, who was assistant to Antonio Conte before taking over himself on an interim basis when Conte left in March, only to be axed himself a month later, spoke glowingly of Maddison in February.
The Italian, 48, said: “We like Maddison as a player.
“He is an important player in this league, a player with an important type of skill, like his delivery, his cross, his right foot is a very important foot so he shoots, he crosses, he takes the set-pieces.
“When you feel how important this type of skill is, for sure you like this type of player. He’s a player with talent.” More

However, where he will be playing his football next season still remains unclear with United and Real Madrid circling – especially as the striker enters the final year of his Tottenham contract.
But asked about the talk linking him to Old Trafford, Kane insisted nothing has changed at this stage – and he could stick with his boyhood club.
He told BT Sport: “No, no. That’s part and parcel of being a footballer – especially when you’re at the top of your game.

“It has been a disappointing season. We can’t let this win dust over that. A lot to work on.

Kane will lead the Three Lions in the Euro 2024 qualifiers against Malta and North Macedonia next month.
But the hot topic of his club future will not go away until a decision is made.
Spurs, who are unable to offer any European football next season after finishing eighth, must decide whether to keep Kane and risk losing him for free or sell up this summer.
United are desperate for a new No9 to lead Erik ten Hag’s side in the Champions League and help them compete for regular silverware again.
They have made initial contact to sound out the White Hart Lane hero.
Real Madrid, meanwhile, have identified the trophyless Kane as a suitable replacement for Karim Benzema.
Jamie Redknapp has explicitly told Kane to force through an exit this summer to get out of Tottenham.
    ‘SPURS ARE A SHAMBLES’
He said: “It’s the facts, it feels Spurs are a shambles, if you are Harry Kane with one year to go this is the time to leave he has to push now.
“Manchester United they might get someone, he missed Man City a few years ago, right now he needs to push with one year on contract to go somewhere.
“Tottenham are like a social experiment of how far you can push your fans before they completely lose it.
“They need to do something, no one wants to lose Harry Kane, he has been incredible but deserves better.”
And former Manchester United captain Roy Keane would be “excited” to see him lead the line for the Red Devils.
The Irishman said: “They’re going to be linked with lots of players but the one that would excite you really is Kane.

Tottenham a manager no-go zone with bosses ‘all talking to each other’, ex-star claims in devastating verdict

IF former Tottenham defender Ramon Vega is right, then Daniel Levy has a big problem. As Spurs’ managerial search dragged into its 60th day, with Arne Slot the latest boss to rule himself out of the role, Vega delivered a devastating verdict on the state of his old club.

His assessment was essentially ‘the word is out around Europe to all prospective managers, don’t go near it.’
That coaches, players and agents are all talking to each other about their experiences with the North Londoners and the feedback is not great.
Vega wrote on Twitter: “The Tottenham board are underestimating how small the technical football world is (coaches, current and ex-players and of course agents regarding the potential Spurs job and the reputation of the club).
“They all talk to each other referencing their experience with the club in the past and present.

“I can tell you here that over 99 per cent are saying the same.
“It’s not a question of who is going to manage next season, the questions are way more profound. It’s the overall attitude and handling of the club decision-makers that makes this club today so uncertain and not united for anybody to come in.”
Vega, 51, played for the club 84 times during a spell between 1997-2001, winning the League Cup in 1999. Tottenham have landed ONE trophy since, the League Cup again in 2008.
Spurs is still very much in Vega’s heart, as proven by his regular Twitter commentary.

Though the former Switzerland defender is not afraid to go in two-footed when it comes to verbals. He branded Spurs ‘the new Mickey Mouse club’ after Saturday’s embarrassing home defeat to Brentford.
To have such a stinging observation from an ex-player is not a good look.
And it will have fans questioning whether Vega’s claims are why their managerial search appears to be stalling like it did in the chaotic summer of 2021.
That year Spurs had sacked Jose Mourinho a week before the League Cup final, putting Ryan Mason in interim charge — as they have done now — and proceeded to lurch from candidate to candidate to replace the Special One.

The list went from Julian Nagelsmann, to Mauricio Pochettino, to Hansi Flick, to Antonio Conte, to Paulo Fonseca, to Gennaro Gattuso, before the Londoners landed up with Nuno Espirito Santo 72 days later.
The grumpy Portuguese lasted just 17 games before he was axed and Conte was convinced to take over.
It was a tumultuous period that Tottenham and chairman Levy are desperate not to repeat.
Conte went in March after publicly tearing into Tottenham’s players, despite them being fourth in the Premier League table — and in a Champions League spot. His assistant Cristian Stellini took over but was sacked after the 6-1 humbling at Newcastle.
That meant another call for Mason, with Tottenham now struggling to even qualify for next season’s third-tier Europa Conference League.
Club insiders would say that attracting a manager currently employed elsewhere — as appears to be the intention — means having to wait until the season finishes to appoint them.
But as the clock ticks on, fans are understandably fearing a repeat of two summers ago.
The social media following for Spurs went into a frenzy yesterday at the news Slot would not be coming to N17.
Feyenoord boss Arne Slot was also believed to be a target for the clubCredit: Getty
Ange Postecoglou is now the current frontrunner for the jobCredit: Getty
Fans had already come to terms with the fact their hero Poch would not be returning and that Nagelsmann and Burnley chief Vincent Kompany were not showing up, either.
But Slot was someone many Tottenham supporters felt they could get behind.
Indeed, the Dutchman seemed to many a perfect fit — a charismatic coach on his way up with a track record of building squads quickly and playing easy-on-the-eye football.
Though Spurs insist they never spoke to Slot, nor his club Feyenoord, it is understandable if supporters feel like it is back to square one now he is staying with the Dutch champs.
The sense of rudderlessness is compounded by the fact the club are still searching for a new director of football. Fabio Paratici resigned last month after being caught up in a financial malpractice scandal in Italy, causing embarrassment by association to Spurs.
Spurs would prefer to fill the DoF role before appointing a new manager — Roma’s Tiago Pinto and former Leverkusen supremo Tim Steidten are in the frame — but it is not a deal-breaker.
The pressure is cranking up on chairman Levy to get things right after all the wrong calls of the last few years, for which he put his hands up in the club programme on Saturday.
He also promised the club would work “relentlessly” to get back on the path to success after failing to win a trophy for FIFTEEN YEARS.
Though fans will be wary of that final pledge having heard something very similar in 2021 and ending up being bored to tears by Nuno.
Levy now has Ange Postecoglou, boss of Vega’s old club Celtic, in his sights.
