And according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the two parties have now reached a verbal agreement.
Postecoglou is set to sign a two-year deal with the option to extend for a further season, so he could remain in north London until June 2026.
Celtic are expected to hold discussions with Tottenham this week, but the Scottish Premiership champions have already resigned to losing the Aussie.
And due to his rolling one-year contract at Celtic Park, there will be no hefty compensation to pay.

SunSport revealed the Aussie wants Celtic No2 John Kennedy to join him in London.
Fellow coach Gavin Strachan as well as one of the first-team’s video analysts are also expected to make the move south.
Postecoglou’s appointment will mark the end of Tottenham’s three-month search for a manager.
Former boss Antonio Conte left the club in March following an astonishing rant about his players.

The Italian’s ex-assistant Cristian Stellini was appointed interim manager for the remainder of the season shortly after his departure, but he was sacked after just four games.
Ryan Mason then took the reigns and has been at the helm as acting head coach ever since.
During their search for a new permanent manager, the Lilywhites have been linked with Julian Nagelsmann, Xabi Alonso, Arne Slot, Thomas Frank and Simone Inzaghi.
Spurs decided against appointing Nagelsmann at the beginning of May, while Alonso and Slot both ruled themselves out of the running. More

Incoming Spurs boss Postecoglou ready to raid Celtic for £30million striker as long-term replacement for Harry Kane

TOTTENHAM want Ange Postecoglou to bring Japan striker Kyogo Furuhashi with him from Celtic. The prolific marksman, who netted in the Scottish Cup final against Inverness, is already on Spurs’ wishlist as a partner, cover or even eventual replacement for club talisman Harry Kane.

And if Postecoglou, 57, agrees to become Tottenham chief this week then that would vastly increase their chances of landing the Japanese ace.
Furuhashi, 28, would be ideal for Spurs and they are prepared to pay around £25-30million to make him a major capture.
Best known as Kyogo, the Hoops star has been one of the major successes in Postecoglou’s time in Scotland — with 23 goals in 31 league games.
And, at his age, the chance of the Premier League may also be too good to refuse.

But there are other clubs in England with Kyogo in their sights because of his finishing, clever running and positive attitude.
Postecoglou is currently waiting for permission to speak to Spurs supremo Daniel Levy.
The Australian enjoys being boss at Celtic but may be open to a new challenge if the job is right.
West Ham boss David Moyes has been backed as the front-runner for the Celtic post if Postecoglou leaves.

But Moyes insists he’s blanking it all out ahead of Wednesday’s Europa Conference League Final against Fiorentina.
The Scottish tactician said: “I’ve never even considered it. I’m West Ham manager and I’m really enjoying my period here.
“I’m hopefully trying to continue growing a really good football club so I’ve not given it any consideration.
“Through my years I’ve been linked with lots of jobs at different times but I have to say I’m really happy at the moment and I’m settled where I am.

Manchester United are also in the running for Kane’s signature amid their desperate search for a top centre-forward to replace Cristiano Ronaldo.

How Tottenham could line up under Postecoglou with 33-goal Japan star replacing Harry Kane

The imminent appointment of Postecoglou has Spurs fans already thinking of who the Greek-born Australian will bring to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
And SunSport is on hand with a potential starting XI for the north Londoners under the Aussie.

Wholesale changes to the under-performing side which led to the dismissal of TWO managers this season are expected this summer.
And the major overhaul would begin in goal as Hugo Lloris is set to leave north London this summer following an error-filled season.

Fraser Forster is expected to retain his place in the starting XI, provided Spurs can’t get their hands on Brentford stopper David Raya.
Spurs will likely play a 4-3-3 formation under Postecoglou – which is good news for their current crop of defenders.
Pedro Porro will likely be deployed at right back, with Cristian Romero and Clement Lenglet playing at centre-back.
And Udinese’s Destiny Udogie will play at left back should his proposed move to north London come to fruition.

Pierre Hojbjerg will likely anchor the three-man midfield with Oliver Skipp and Rodrigo Bentancur.
Heung-Min Son will be a dead cert to start on the left of a three-pronged attack, with Dejan Kulusevski in contention to start on the right once his loan deal is made permanent.
The Postecoglou era at Spurs, however, is unlikely to include skipper and club legend Harry Kane.
England international Kane is expected to leave the club in the summer after nearly 20 years of service and SunSport understands Manchester United are hot on his heels.
Postecoglou, however, won’t have to look far to replace the Tottenham icon.
How Tottenham could line up under Ange Postecoglou
The 57-year-old could very well opt to raid his soon-to-be former club for prolific Japan international Kyogo Furuhashi.
The 28-year-old ran riot for the Hoops last season, scoring a whopping 33 goals in all competitions.
So he could prove to be a cheap option to replace Kane through the middle.
Possible Tottenham starting XI under Postecoglou: Forster; Porro, Romero, Lenglet, Udogie; Hojbjerg, Skipp, Bentancur, Son, Furuhashi, Kulusevski More

Tottenham fans launch ‘no to Postecoglou’ campaign – and Celtic fans all have the same reaction

CELTIC and Tottenham fans have differing views on Ange Postecoglou. But both sides can agree on one thing – they don’t want him to go.

Postecoglou is Spurs’ preferred candidate to take over permanently from Antonio Conte.
He, and former Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers, are front-runners for the north London post.
It is anticipated Daniel Levy – and incoming football chief Scott Munn – will make a move for the Celtic boss after this weekend’s Scottish Cup final.
But that flies in the face of Spurs’ fans’ wishes.

They have set up a ‘No to Postecoglou’ campaign, railing AGAINST the potential appointment of the two-in-a-row SPFL winner.
And regardless if he completes a treble on Saturday at Hampden, or not, a section of the north London fanbase claims ‘we deserve better’.
The hashtag #NoToPostecoglou started at the weekend, but swept across Twitter this afternoon – and had some unexpected support from CELTIC fans.
Far from agreeing their manager isn’t good enough for the gig they have backed Spurs’ fans’ anti-Ange stance in order to keep the Australian at Parkhead.

His revamp two years ago ushered in a new era and Hoops fans have been loving it ever since, sweeping four trophies of a possible five and another on the line against Inverness Caledonian Thistle this weekend.
And Hoops fans have given the campaign backing – with a particularly healthy dose of sarcasm.
Several social media users with Celtic profile pictures, names and shamrock emojis have added their voice to the campaign.
One said: “#NoToPostecoglou Spurs deserve someone better like Brendan Rodgers – COYS.”
Another wrote: “More than happy to get behind the #NoToPostecoglou campaign, on behalf of @SpursOfficial fans.”
A third Celtic supporter added: “I’m on this bandwagon #notoange #notopostecoglou this guy is the real deal and far too good for Spurs. Best manager we have had since the 60’s/70’s.”
And another Hoops fan summed up the general feeling by tweeting: “#NoToPostecoglou #NoToAnge And so say all of us, let him stay in Scotland winning trophy after trophy.”
It is not an unusual scenario for the boss either.

Arriving in Glasgow one a one-year rolling contract as a relatively unknown name, many doubted he would bring success to the Scottish giants, but he has since proved to be a worthy appointment.
Postecoglou lifted a domestic double in his first season in charge and made it three trophies when Celtic beat their Old Firm rivals Rangers in the Viaplay Cup final at Hampden.
Last weekend he was reacquainted with the SPFL title with a first Scottish Cup – and a domestic clean sweep – on the line in three days’ time.
Fans had a dig at those who doubted his longevity when he hit the 100-game milestone earlier this season.
They unfurled a banner saying ‘Gone by Christmas? Here’s to 100 more’.
Whether Spurs will have a say in him reaching that next target remains to be seen but the fans have had their say – as have pundits.
Outspoken duo Richard Keys and Andy Gray firmly backed Brendan Rodgers for the job and insisted he was a BETTER option for Levy.
Speaking on BeIN Sports, the former Dundee Utd and Rangers striker Gray asked his co-host: “What has Postecoglou got, or done, that Brendan Rodgers hasn’t bettered?”

Keys replied: “Nothing. Nothing like what Brendan Rodgers has done.”

Though the North London club have maintained throughout the search for a permanent successor to Antonio Conte, there is no preferred candidate above any other.
Postecoglou, 57, has hugely impressed during his two-year stay at the Bhoys and has implemented the kind of progressive playing style Daniel Levy has promised fans next term.
The former Socceroos chief is known by incoming Spurs’ chief football officer Scott Munn, a fellow Aussie who will begin his new post on July 1.
Both Munn and Postecoglou have worked for the City Football Group, with the former being chief executive of Melbourne City and the Chinese arm of CFG operation.
