Everton dealt major financial blow over Dele Alli deal after ‘angering Tottenham with absurd Richarlison transfer claim’

Everton had since been hoping that Spurs would waive a potential £10million fee for Dele Alli.
This is because the club have blamed the North London outfit for their breach for not paying £80m for Richarlison in June 2022.
The Daily Mail have reported that sources have called the claim from Everton “absurd”.
It is suggested that Everton believe that Spurs took advantage of the club’s financial position by negotiating for “a hard bargain” in the Premier League’s independent commission’s written judgement.

Everton believe that the £60m that Tottenham did pay for the striker was £20m short of their valuation and was “directly attributable to PSR calculation difficulties”.
It is thought that the relationship between the two clubs could be damaged by Everton’s attempt to use the fee in their mitigation.
The report also claims that Everton held talks with Spurs last month about restructuring the Dele Alli deal.
The Toffees will have to pay £10m to Spurs should the former England international make seven more appearances for the club.

This fee could be difficult for Everton to pay due to their financial problems.
It is also claimed that Tottenham do not want to hinder Alli from reviving his career but want the settlement to be right for all sides.
Alli, 27, has not played since picking up an injury during his loan spell with Turkish outfit Besiktas in February.
As a result of Everton’s point deduction, the club has fallen from 14th place to 19th in the Premier League table.
The Toffees are only off the bottom of the table due to their superior goal difference over Burnley.
Manchester United fans have been cursing their luck as they expect a tough game against Everton after the international break.
Everton, however, are predicted to survive relegation to the Championship by a supercomputer. More

Boss Ange Postecoglou admires the 20-year-old, but in September talked down his prospects of featuring much for the first-team in the near future.
The Aussie, 58, said: “It will be a while for him, I think. We’ve just got to let him settle, he’s come halfway around the world.
“He’s a young guy, it’s a fairly different level. He’s one we’ll invest in in the long-term but I wouldn’t expect him to see any minutes in the first part of the season.”
Amid numerous injuries to his team-mates Veliz has been involved, making three cameo substitute appearances in the Premier League.

The Argentina Under-20 international is attracting loan interest ahead of the January transfer window.
According to Italian outlet Calciomercato, Serie A side Bologna could launch a loan offer for the forward.

With first team appearances hard to come by, Veliz has featured for Spurs’ Under-21 side.
He played in two of their EFL Trophy matches, scoring in a 3-1 defeat at Peterborough.
Tottenham have relied on Son Heung-min and Richarlison up front this term.
They have recently been linked with making a January swoop for Feyenoord ace Santiago Gimenez.

Tottenham ‘enter transfer race for Raphinha’ with Barcelona set to offload Chelsea and Arsenal target after 18 months

TOTTENHAM have entered the transfer tussle for Raphinha, according to reports. The Brazilian forward only joined Barcelona in the summer of 2022.

Chelsea and Arsenal both wanted to sign the attacker from Leeds before he followed his heart’s desire and headed to the Nou Camp.
He managed ten goals in his debut season to help Barcelona win LaLiga.
But now Mundo Deportivo state the Catalan giants are open to selling Raphinha for the right price.
Barca’s financial woes are well known and therefore the chance to recoup a significant portion of the £49million they shelled out for Raphinha last year is tempting.
    READ MORE ON FOOTBALL
And selling the 26-year-old would also help pave the way for Vitor Roque when the teenager arrives in Spain from Athletico Paranaense in 2024.
Raphinha has lost his place in the starting XI under Xavi this term with the likes of Joao Felix, Fermin Lopez and Ferran Torres preferred to support Robert Lewandowski – not helped by an early red card and an injury this term.
It means he remains stuck on three LaLiga starts with two goals from his 11 appearances in total.
Tottenham, though, could have competition from their Premier League rivals for the ex-Elland Road hero, who managed 17 goals for the Yorkshire club across two seasons.

That is because both Chelsea and Newcastle are rumoured interested parties ahead of the transfer window reopening in the New Year.
The news, though, did not go down well with Blues fans who are not convinced Raphinha is an improvement on their current options at Stamford Bridge.
Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou is keen to bolster his attacking options.
The Australian lost Harry Kane in the summer while Brennan Johnson is still settling and trying to find his top form.
James Maddison, Richarlison, Manor Solomon, Ryan Sessegnon and Ivan Perisic have all been sidelined by injury.
There were suggestions Ivan Toney was a possible target but SunSport understands he is deciding between transfers to Arsenal or Chelsea or signing a new contract at Brentford. More

Tottenham captain Son Heung-min releases statement with fans fearing worst after injury in South Korea clash

SON HEUNG-MIN has moved fast to reassure Tottenham fans after collapsing in agony for South Korea. The in-form Spurs skipper insists he is “fine” – a huge relief as club boss Ange Postecoglou faces a mounting injury list.

Son fell clutching his ankle near the end of Thursday’s 5-0 World Cup qualifying win over Singapore.
But the 31-year-old believes he will be fit to face China next Tuesday.
Son and the Tottenham team as a whole have stepped up a notch under Postecoglou this season despite the summer loss of goal machine Harry Kane to Bayern Munich.
However, fourth-placed Spurs are now likely to be without James Maddison and Micky Van de Ven until the New Year.

Both were crocked when nine-man Tottenham lost 4-1 at home to Chelsea on November 6.
Son, though, seems certain to be fit for Spurs’ next game – at home to Aston Villa on November 26.
That’s assuming, of course, he avoids injury against China.
And after getting up to finish the Singapore game, Son sounded defiant.

He told reporters: “We are making a team for the World Cup, I can’t give up a game just because I feel pain.
“If I can’t run anymore, then I can’t do anything about it but when I can run, I have to give 100% for the team.
“I am fine now, I don’t like to lie down [on the pitch] in the winter. At that moment, I couldn’t feel anything on my foot. I’m fine, no injury.” More

The ex-Tottenham ace then led the League Two side to two wins and one draw in his first three matches in the third tier as caretaker boss.
That convinced Colchester chairman Robbie Cowling and sporting director Dmitri Halajko to make the former West Ham ace’s appointment permanent.
Etherington said: “I’m extremely pleased, and obviously grateful to the chairman and Dmitri for giving me this opportunity, and I’ll give everything I can to make sure this club is successful.
“It’s been a decent start in terms of the league form, but we need to make sure we maintain that going forwards.

“I’m a big believer in ‘what will be will be’ and here we are. I’m really looking forward to it and I’ll give it everything I’ve got.”
Etherington hit the headlines last year in December when he was sacked by Crawley Town after just three games in his first managerial job.
However, the 42-year-old tactician’s fortunes completely changed at Colchester Community Stadium.
Halajko said: “Matty has had a good response from the players and his league points’ return has been excellent as interim head coach.

Tottenham to get creative in January transfer window with three shock exits on the cards and some left-field arrivals

TOTTENHAM may have to get creative in January if they want to bolster their injury-hit squad.Spurs are not flush with cash for the upcoming transfer window.
Tottenham will have a tight budget in the upcoming transfer windowCredit: AP
They are not in Europe so have no extra income from that competition.
While much of the £104million raised by the sale of Harry Kane has already been spent on the likes of Micky van de Ven and Brennan Johnson.
It means Spurs may have to look to loans with obligatory fees when the window opens, like they did with the signings of Pedro Porro last January and Dejan Kulusevski 12 months prior to that.
Ange Postecoglou’s squad has been badly hit by injuries, with star players Van de Ven and James Maddison out until the New Year.

Ryan Sessegnon, Ivan Perisic and Manor Solomon are all long-term absentees too.
Spurs are likely to do some business in January, albeit any fan expecting a raft of signings will likely be disappointed.
Most probable is the club brings in a new centre-back, with Lloyd Kelly of Bournemouth among their targets.
A new attacking recruit is less likely, given Solomon will be back in January, though an unexpected sale – such as Richarlison, who has been linked with a switch to Saudi Arabia – could change things.

Feyenoord’s Argentine sensation Santiago Gimenez is a player Spurs are tracking, as is Jota at Al-Ittihad in Saudi.
In midfield, the current expectation is Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Giovani Lo Celso will stay unless they push to leave or the club receive offers they feel they cannot turn down.
Spurs are certainly not actively looking to offload either player, particularly with Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr heading to the Africa Cup of Nations in January.
It is not beyond the realms of possibility that Eric Dier goes in the New Year, despite the Englishman coming back into the team following Van de Ven’s injury.
But Spurs would be looking for a decent fee for the 29-year-old, whose contract expires in the summer, and would have to replace him instantly.
Dier was being considered in the summer by Bayern Munich, who of course signed Kane.

Ferguson has attracted interest from several top sides this season, including Tottenham.
However, it would take more than the £115million Chelsea paid Brighton for Moises Caicedo in the summer to sign Ferguson.
According to talkSPORT, Brighton value the teenager at over £100m and there is no release clause in his new contract.
Spurs remain interested, though, having identified Ferguson as a long-term successor to Harry Kane, the report adds.

Kane sealed a £104million move to Bayern Munich in the summer, leaving a void in the Spurs attack.
Manchester United and Chelsea are also admirers of Ferguson, who is said to be in no rush to leave Brighton, but Manchester City are not currently targeting a move.
Ferguson joined Brighton from Bohemians in 2021 after making his debut for the Irish side aged just 14 in a friendly against Chelsea.
Now 19, he has already scored three goals in eight senior caps for Ireland and is Brighton’s top scorer in the league this term.

Ange Postecoglou is looking to bolster his squad after a strong start to the season in the wake of injuries to James Maddison and Richarlison.
Those and other injuries have left his squad short and after back-to-back defeats, Spurs are understood to be eyeing a centre-back, two attacking midfielders and a forward in January.
Goncalves, who has a £60million release clause, is one of the names being targeted to ease the burden on Maddison in attacking midfield.
Scouts have watched the 25-year-old multiple times this season, most recently in the derby against Benfica on Sunday.

Goncalves’ versatility has caught the eye of Spurs, as he can play on both wings as well as behind a central striker or even deeper in midfield.
He has already racked up five goals and four assists this season and previously finished as Liga Portugal’s top scorer in the 2020/21 season with 23 goals.
Arsenal fans are already familiar with his talents too, after their Europa League exit at the hands of Sporting back in March.
Goncalves scored from the halfway line at the Emirates Stadium during their round of 16 second leg to send the match to penalties, where Sporting would win 5-3.
