Tottenham teen Troy Parrott set for season-long loan transfer to Championship Millwall

The South Londoners hope to finalise the deal with the youngster today before announcing it next week.
Parrott, 18, is one of the most highly-rated prospects in Tottenham’s academy.
The Dublin-born ace won his first cap for his country – in their 3-1 win over New Zealand in November – before he made his Prem debut as a sub in Spurs’ 5-0 thrashing of Burnley a month later.
After turning 18 in February he signed a new three-and-a-half year deal with the North London club and many of their fans were hoping he would be given a crack at first-team football next season.

But Mourinho – who criticised the youngster’s attitude after taking over as boss in November – believes the rookie needs to toughen up and gain more life-experience before he is ready to play for Tottenham in the Prem.
So the Special One has rubberstamped his kid’s secondment to South Bermondsey – despite offers from a number of other clubs.

Jose Mourinho with striker Parrott who he plans to loan out
Mourinho gave the thumbs-up after learning that his star striker Harry Kane benefited from a 2012 loan stint at the Lions.
The England captain has said his spell at the Den “turned him into a man.”

Mourinho hopes it will do the same for Parrott – regarded as the hottest young forward at Tottenham since Kane.
Parrott, who has been inundated with loan offers from clubs in the Premier League, Championship and across Europe, is also keen on joining Millwall after speaking with Kane.
The promising striker and his representatives are also pleased with the way the Lions have dealt with the deal.
Millwall finished eighth in the Championship this season, narrowly missing out on the play-offs.
Lions boss Gary Rowett wanted to pair Parrott with Wigan’s Wales forward Kieffer Moore in a dream partnership next term.

Moore held talks with the Lions this week after they had a £2million bid for him accepted by the Latics.
But Millwall fear he prefers a move to Cardiff, whose manager Neil Harris tried to sign him twice while in charge of the Lions.
Preston are also interested but it appears the player now has his heart set on the Bluebirds.

Leeds lining up £15m offer for Tottenham defender Juan Foyth… whether Bielsa lands Ben White from Brighton or not

LEEDS are lining up a £15million swoop for Tottenham defender Juan Foyth – regardless of whether they land Ben White.
Elland Road boss Marcelo Bielsa believes his fellow Argentinian would strengthen his newly-promoted squad for the club’s long-awaited return to the Premier League next season.

Foyth is set to quit Spurs after falling out of the first-team picture under new boss Jose Mourinho.
And he would relish the chance to work under compatriot Bielsa, stating: “Bielsa is one of the best coaches in the world and it would be nice to be coached by him.”
The 22-year-old was signed from Estudiantes by previous manager Mauricio Pochettino in August 2017.
But he has not started a match for Tottenham since December 28, when Mourinho hauled him off at half-time of their 2-2 draw at Norwich.

The player has seen Japhet Tanganga, 20, leapfrog above him in the pecking order at Spurs.
Bielsa is looking to bolster his Leeds squad after guiding them to the Championship title – which will see them back in the top flight after a 16-year absence.
The club are trying desperately to sign Brighton centre-back White in a £20m deal after he starred for them on loan this season but the Seagulls do not want to sell to a potential relegation rival.
Foyth can operate in the centre of defence or at right-back – where he has won the most recent of his ten caps for Argentina.

The Tottenham man’s versatility would be a great asset to Leeds in their fight to retain their Premier League status.
Foyth has made 32 appearances for the North Londoners in all competitions, scoring once.
Boca Juniors are also interested in signing him, but he insisted last month that he did not want to return to Argentina.

Philippe Coutinho’s agent confirms he wants Premier League return with Arsenal and Tottenham linked with transfer

PHILIPPE COUTINHO wants a returns to the Premier League, according to his agent.
Kia Joorabchian confirmed the news that the former Liverpool star is eyeing up a return to England, with both Arsenal and Tottenham linked with a move.

    1

Philippe Coutinho could be heading for a transfer back to EnglandCredit: PA:Press Association
He told talkSPORT: “Because the Champions League is going to run all the way until August 23, I think it will be difficult for players like Coutinho to make any commitment or move until that date.
“He has the Champions League at the moment and they have to qualify for the next round [against Chelsea], and then he could play Barcelona, believe it or not.
“After the Champions League, it’s not been a secret that he wants to come back to the Premier League if he can; he loves playing in the Premier League and is adored in the Premier League.
“It is one of his priorities… but he is also not against staying at Barcelona, so it is very much open.”

It was previously reported that the Barcelona flop was likely to sign for one of Arsenal, Leicester City or Spurs this summer.
On the subject of which clubs were in the frame, he added: “There is much genuine interest in Philippe because he is a great player and a big success. There is always interest.”

Joorabchian fuelled talk of a return to the English top-flight last month.
He discussed Coutinho’s future on talkSport: “We’re still waiting until the season finishes before we start talking about anything in terms of transfers.

“I’ve always said he loves to play in the Premier League.
“He enjoyed his time very much and if the opportunity arises to come back to the Premier League, whether it be this year or in the future, he’s definitely looking at that.”
The Brazilian playmaker has spent the 2019/20 season on loan at Bayern Munich.
He has signed a deal to remain with the German giants for the conclusion of the Champions League in August.

But it appears he has not done enough to secure a permanent move.
The ex-Anfield No10 moved to Barcelona in a massive £142million deal back in January 2018.
But he failed to deliver at the Nou Camp before being shipped out on loan last summer.
And it is unlikely that he will be able to force himself into Quique Setien’s plans and is assessing his options elsewhere, with a return to England high on his wishlist.
Coutinho bagged nine goals and assisted a further eight in 34 Bundesliga appearances this campaign, showing glimpses of his former self.
After Leicester and Spurs both secured Europa League qualification on the Prem’s final day, they are thought to be realistic potential destinations for the 28-year-old.

Reports suggested Coutinho initially turned down an approach from Arsenal over fears they would not stump up his desired wages.
But a move to join Mikel Arteta’s side remains on the cards ahead of the FA Cup final against Chelsea this weekend.
Former Inter Milan man Coutinho is believed to be taking time out to consider his next move before making a decision after the end of Bayern’s European run.

Aarons has had a breakthrough campaign – making 40 appearances – despite the Canaries finishing rock bottom.

Bayern Munich have emerged as shock contenders to sign Norwich right-back Max Aarons
Following his standout season, the defender has attracted several potential suitors keen to prevent the 20-year-old from playing in the Championship.
Tottenham are among those but according to Sky Sports Austria, so are the German champions.
Frenchman Benjamin Pavard has established himself as Bayern’s first choice right-back, though he is also capable of playing in a three man backline.
Boss Hans-Dieter Flick is looking for back up in that position.

But with Aarons on course to contend for a first-team position the England Under-21 international can provide competition for Pavard.
The Bundesliga kings will face competition from the Premier League though.
Spurs boss Jose Mourinho is said to be keen on a move for the Norwich full-back as he looks to stamp his mark on the squad.

He is understood to have some reservations about 5ft 10in Aarons’ height but the Portuguese manager is still expected to give him a shot in North London.

Spurs right-back Serge Aurier is attracting interest from Europe with Monaco reportedly keen on taking him back to France and Aarons could be the ideal replacement.
Tottenham are also looking at Southampton’s wantaway former skipper Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Eric Dier signs new Tottenham contract until 2024 after resurgence under Jose Mourinho and impressing at centre-back

ERIC DIER has extended his Tottenham contract until 2024.
The club announced the news with a video on Twitter, which shows a smartly dressed Dier ink a new deal.

    1

Eric Dier has extended his Tottenham contract until 2024

Dier was coming into the final year of his contract, but wanted to hash out fresh terms having forged a working relationship with manager Jose Mourinho.
Mourinho was also keen on England international staying, having become an important figure in the Portuguese’s plans moving forward.
Dier was reverted from holding midfield into defence, going on to emerge as a crucial part of Spurs’ squad.
Since the Premier League restart, the 26-year-old has been deployed at the back alongside Toby Alderweireld, who was also convinced to commit his future by Mourinho.

Dier was said to have stunned Spurs chief Daniel Levy by asking for a new pay packet in the region of £120,000-a-week.
Levy has always employed a strict wage structure which was smashed when Harry Kane agreed a £200,000-a-week deal in 2018.
It was also revealed how Tottenham’s wage bill is £120million less than Manchester City’s.
But Mourinho earlier this month emphasised his desire for Dier to agree a new deal.

He said: “My boss Mr Levy tells me that he wants Eric to sign a new contract and Eric tells me that he is more than happy here.
“He is more than happy with his situation, especially now where he feels that we have a certain idea for him and for the team.
“And he tells me that he wants very much to stay, so I hope they can find an agreement because I try to take the team in a certain direction and when I try to develop a player in the team, it’s because I am waiting for the player to stay with us.”

How Tottenham could line-up next season with Kurt Zouma as Mourinho plots £25m transfer for Chelsea defender

JOSE MOURINHO is reportedly out to bolster his defence in the summer to make for a new-look Tottenham XI next season.
Jan Vertonghen and Serge Aurier look to be heading towards the exit door, giving Mourinho the chance to give his backline a more youthful outlook.

    2

Reports suggest that a £25million bid for Chelsea defender Zouma is first on the Tottenham boss’ wish list.
After signing the Frenchman for the Blues in 2014, Mourinho is said to be very keen on reuniting with Zouma.
Chelsea’s push for a revamped defence themselves, potentially including Ben Chilwell and Declan Rice, could lead to the 25-year-old’s sale.
And he could slip into the space vacated by Jan Vertonghen if the Belgian leaves when his contract expires at the end of the month.

Meanwhile, the right-back spot is also being identified as an area for improvement.
Serge Aurier is linked with Ligue 1 club Monaco and that has drawn Tottenham towards a pair of potential alternatives.

Norwich’s 20-year-old defender Max Aarons joins Atalanta’s Timothy Castagne in being touted for a move to North London.
With Tottenham’s attack already stocked with talent, Mourinho is also reportedly looking to improve his midfield.

Tanguy Ndombele’s future is a subject of much speculation and Pierre Emile Hojbjerg has been eyed as a new arrival.
Southampton’s Danish midfielder lost the club captaincy amid his links to Spurs – although Ajax are also said to be plotting a bid.
