Tottenham open talks over Man Utd transfer target Milan Skriniar but Inter want £55m for centre-back

TOTTENHAM have opened talks with Inter Milan over defender Milan Skriniar, according to reports.
The Slovakian centre-back is a transfer target for Manchester United this summer.

But journalist Fabrizio Romano believes it is the North Londoners who are in negotiations.
However, the sticking point could be the price tag with Inter hoping to get as much as £55million for the 25-year-old.
Any suggestion Tanguy Ndombele may be used as part of a swap deal have been ruled out, though.

Spurs boss Jose Mourinho is keen to bolster his back-line this summer.
Jan Vertonghen left for Benfica at the end of last season leaving Toby Alderweireld, Davinson Sanchez, Eric Dier and Juan Foyth as the main centre-backs.
And Skriniar fits the bill for the Special One.
He still has three years left to run on his current San Siro contract, meaning Inter do not need to sell the player they signed from Sampdoria in 2017.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer saw Skriniar as the perfect foil for Harry Maguire at the heart of United’s defence.

But it is reckoned PSG are also in the hunt after letting Thiago Silva leave on a free transfer for Chelsea.
Spurs, though, look to be in pole position as things stand with discussions underway.

PSG open talks for Dele Alli transfer after being dropped by Spurs boss Jose Mourinho

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN have opened talks with Dele Alli over a stunning transfer, according to reports.
The England midfielder, 24, was dragged off at half-time against Everton a week ago and has not made the last two matchday squads.

That includes not being involved at all for the win at Southampton.
And according to The Telegraph, PSG are hoping to take advantage with a plot to land the ex-MK Dons man.
The French giants are thought to be long-term admirers of Dele.

But it is unclear whether they would pursue a full permanent transfer or a loan with the option to buy – the latter is more likely.
Dele – who signed for Tottenham in 2015 and has 62 goals in 223 appearances – was offered to Real Madrid as part of the deal which saw Gareth Bale return to White Hart Lane.
Inter Milan are also showing interest in the playmaker, who looks to be out of Jose Mourinho’s immediate plans at Tottenham.
But the chance to reignite his career alongside Kylian Mbappe and Neymar at PSG would surely appeal to the 37-cap Three Lions star.

Dele was hauled off at the break against Everton with ex-England international Gabriel Agbonlahor claiming that the pair had a bust-up prior to the match.

The two-time PFA Young Player of the Year did not even travel to Bulgaria for the Europa League qualifier against Lokomotiv Plovdiv on Thursday.
And then he was reportedly left ‘upset and confused’ by his omission at St Mary’s.
Commenting on his decision to leave Alli out, Mourinho said: “We have a huge squad, a squad with numbers that’s very difficult to manage.
“I don’t have issues, it’s for me to be here with 18 players, I start with Son, with Lucas, with Harry, on the bench I have Sissoko and Lamela.
“We have too many players for some positions and some of them are paying the price of this.”
    ‘COP OUT’
Spurs legend Glenn Hoddle admits Jose Mourinho’s counter-attacking style does not suit Dele but insisted leaving is not the answer.
Hoddle, 62, said: “That is the easy way out. That’s a cop out. He and Jose have to talk about it and he needs to adjust his game.
“The manager picks the teams and the way you are going to play. You have to adjust to that.
“I think he is capable of that but don’t down tools, pick up your tools and add to them.
“Become a better player in a different way. I think that’s what he will do.”

Spurs plot shock £30m transfer bid for Man Utd midfielder Jesse Lingard as Mourinho seeks reunion with ‘ignored’ ace

TOTTENHAM are plotting a shock £30million transfer bid for Jesse Lingard, according to reports.
The Manchester United midfielder, 27, has seen his career stagnate over the past two years since Jose Mourinho left Old Trafford.

But according to the Daily Star Sunday, the Special One is hoping to reignite his career in North London.
Lingard has struggled for game time and form under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and has not started a Premier League match since January.
The report adds the England international was fuming at being left out of the matchday squad for the opening game of the season against Crystal Palace.
It is even suggested Lingard has tried to reach out to the club for showdown talks over his future – but has been ignored.

The playmaker who came through the United academy and has 207 first-team appearances, came back from pre-season in peak condition but it appears he is not part of Solskjaer’s plans.
Bruno Fernandes is the first-choice No10 and has been in fine form since arriving last season.
So Mourinho may hope to capitalise on Lingard’s frustration and try to get the best out of him again – especially with Dele Alli’s future unclear.
Speaking during the 2018 World Cup, Lingard credited his then-United boss for his support and help.

He told talkSPORT: “[Mourinho] has been great with me. He’s put that trust and faith in me to play me in big matches week-in, week-out.
“It’s only up to me to repay that faith by playing well and putting on good performances.
“He’s played a massive part in my development and I can only thank him for that.”
Spurs completed the signings of Gareth Bale and Sergio Reguilon from Real Madrid on Saturday.

Zinedine Zidane tells Gareth Bale ‘we wish you well’ ahead of Spurs transfer and says he’s been ‘spectacular’ for Real

REAL MADRID boss Zinedine Zidane has labelled Gareth Bale as ‘spectacular’ as the winger closes in on a return to Tottenham.
Spurs are set to announce the loan signing of the 31-year-old, which could extend until the end of the 2021/22 campaign.

Although fans will have to wait another month to see him in action as the Wales international is currently nursing a knee injury.
Much has been said about the strained relationship between Bale and Zidane, with the ex-Southampton ace starting just once for Los Blancos since March.
But Zizou has stated that the pair remain on friendly terms, as the Frenchman wished Bale well back in the Premier League.
In quotes obtained by the Metro, he said: “I haven’t spoken to Bale. I know what he has done in this team.

“He has been spectacular for this team, nobody can say otherwise. There are negotiations. If he moves, we only wish him well.”
Before adding: “I’ve not had any problems with Gareth. The situation is not firm, it’s not done, I cannot say more.”
Asked what Real are losing with Bale departing, Zidane remarked: “It’s not about that. It’s life, everyone can have an opinion.
“Gareth is our player for the moment and the issue is still to be closed.”

Bale will be joined by his Real team-mate Sergio Reguilon in North London, with the left-back poised to link up with Jose Mourinho’s side.
Commenting on the 23-year-old, Zidane said: “We must congratulate Reguilon on the season he had.
“We have two players per position and I already have two full-backs. I wish him all the best because he had a good season at Sevilla and he deserves to be at Tottenham.”

Gareth Bale beams as he lands in Luton to seal Tottenham transfer return and ends his Real Madrid hell

GARETH BALE beamed as he landed at Luton Airport to seal his sensational return to Tottenham and end his Real Madrid hell.
The golf-mad Wales star, 31, had been frozen out at the Bernabeu by Zinedine Zidane.

But now he has arrived back in the UK on a private jet to complete his season-long loan move to his former club.
Bale quit Spurs for Los Blancos a then-world-record £86million move in 2013.
Seven years later, Bale is preparing to return to North London.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy was spotted arriving at the club’s Enfield training base at the crack of dawn on Friday, seemingly to conclude the deal.

Levy looked visibly nervous as he chewed on his fingernails as Bale flew over France, across The Channel and back onto home soil.
Both Tottenham and Manchester United had been keen on brining Bale home.
But the Londoners appear to have won the race.

Spurs opted against an £18.5million move and instead settled for a season-long loan deal, with the Premier League side set to pay just 50 per cent of his wages.

However, that still means Tottenham must fork out a club-high £325,000 a week for Bale – ahead of £200,000 per week striker Harry Kane.
The Welshman will immediately be stuck on a personalised, intensive training regime.
Having been frozen out by Zinedine Zidane for so long, Spurs have some fears over his fitness with just 215 minutes of action for club and country since February.
It’s thought Bale could take as long as FOUR WEEKS to get up to speed and match-readiness.
With a gruelling schedule ahead, it may be tough for Mourinho to resist picking Bale, with Premier League action along with domestic AND European cup games ahead.
With Bale arriving – along with full-back Sergio Reguilon, seemingly on the way – Mourinho has now suggested he has too many players.
Some stars may be shown the exit this summer, with Dele Alli a shock target for Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan, according to reports.

Man Utd go back in for Alex Telles in £18m transfer from Porto as Solskjaer misses out on Reguilon to Tottenham

MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly back in for Porto left-back Alex Telles after missing out on Sergio Reguilon.
The Red Devils were looking at Telles, 27, earlier this summer with the aim of adding depth to their squad given Luke Shaw’s injury record.

And A Bola reports Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has renewed his interest with Real Madrid’s Reguilon set to join Tottenham.
Reguilon, 23, was reportedly at Spurs’ training ground on Wednesday for a medical ahead of a £25million move from Los Blancos.
United are thought to have been put off by Madrid’s insistence on inserting a buy-back clause into the deal.
They have now turned their attention to Brazilian Telles who is available for £18m.

Attacking full-back Telles is in the last year of his deal at Porto.
And the Portuguese club risk seeing him leave for free at the end of the season if they don’t cash in now.
Telles’ renewal talks with Porto broke down after he asked for wages of up to £88,000 a week.
The club had to halve their initial £36m asking price to try and get a deal towards the finish line.

Telles joined the Portuguese champions in 2016 from Galatasaray and could arrive at Old Trafford for around £5m less than Spurs are forking out for Reguilon.
He is available without a buy-back clause and was previously on Chelsea’s radar before Frank Lampard coughed up £50m to sign Ben Chilwell from Leicester.
Telles spent a year on loan at Inter Milan in 2015-16 but the Serie A side elected not to make it a permanent move.
He bagged 13 goals and 12 assists in 49 appearances in all competitions last season.

Sergio Reguilon at Tottenham training ground for medical ahead of £25m transfer from Real Madrid in blow to Man Utd

TOTTENHAM are closing in on the signing of Sergio Reguilon with the Real Madrid defender reportedly at the club’s training ground.
Spurs look to have beaten Manchester United in the race to prise the left-back away from the Bernabeu, having agreed a deal to bring him to North London.

Jose Mourinho’s side are said to have had a fee in the region of £25million accepted for the 23-year-old.

And, according to the Evening Standard, Reguilon is already at Hotspur Way having arrived at the complex on Wednesday.
They claim that he is set to have his medical on Thursday ahead of finalising his switch from Spain.

It has been suggested that the club could announce his signing on Thursday ahead of their Europa League second qualifying round clash against Bulgarian outfit Lokomotiv Plovdiv.
Spurs are understood to have accepted a number of clauses from Real in their deal to sign the ex-Sevilla loanee.
One of those is that the LaLiga champions have the option to buy him back for £36m within the next two years.
Another is that Real can match any fee that Spurs agrees with another club should they decide to sell him within that period.

Reguilon could be joined by his Madrid team-mate Gareth Bale at Spurs, with the Welsh winger on the brink of re-joining the club on loan.

Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett has fuelled speculation of Bale’s arrival, as he admitted that a deal is ‘close’.
He told AFP: “It’s close but not done.
    “It’s a complicated deal.”
