Man Utd to fight Liverpool and Tottenham for Paulo Dybala transfer as Juventus admit attacker’s future is uncertain

JUVENTUS have put PremierLeague clubs on red alert by admitting the uncertainty around the future of Paulo Dybala.

Dybala’s contract expires in 2022 but injury issues are hampering his chances of signing a new deal in the coming weeks.
Juve managing director Fabio Paratici has admitted that the club are concerned by his fitness woe.
Talks over a new contract are taking place but could continue for ‘months’.
He said: “Paulo still has a few problems – it’s like he’s on a swing.

“Some days he’s better and others he’s worse. He seemed okay [last week], then he felt some pain again.
“We have spoken [about this contract], we have been speaking and will continue to speak in the next few days and months.”

Having been named on the bench for the Champions League defeat at Porto, 27-year-old Dybala again found himself ruled out of Monday’s victory over Crotone.

It was the 13th game he has missed due to injury in a turbulent campaign that has produced only three goals for the typically prolific forward.
Dybala is only two strikes away from reaching 100 Juventus goals, a feat achieved by only 12 players in the club’s prestigious history.
It is thought that the Old Lady will sell the attacker if he cannot agree a new deal by the summer.

Currently eight points behind in the title race and suffering from major pandemic-inflicted financial problems, the end of the season could herald a squad overhaul at Allianz Stadium.
In the summer of 2019, Tottenham were strongly linked with a deadline day swoop for the player and Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly keen on bringing him to new club Paris Saint-Germain.
Napoli have also been urged to bid for Dybala, in a reversal of the controversial move that saw Gonzalo Higuain sign for Juve in 2016.

Ezri Konsa transfer to Liverpool or Tottenham laughed off by Aston Villa boss Dean Smith after ‘interest’ from Prem duo

ASTON VILLA boss Dean Smith has laughed off suggestions of Ezri Konsa of leaving the Midlands.
The former England Under-21 international’s impressive displays this season have reportedly caught the eye of Premier League big boys Liverpool and Tottenham.

According to The Athletic, the duo are keeping tabs on the defender – who has been one of Villa’s star players this season.
Smith isn’t surprised by the reported interest in Konsa but is confident the youngster will continue to keep his feet on the ground.
He said: “He certainly won’t get distracted.
“I’m not sure Ezri reads any newspapers but he’s probably seen it online I would have thought, somewhere.

“But, I’ll certainly give him a little bit of a ribbing about it and I’m sure the lads have already!”
Konza has played a huge role in Villa’s success this season, helping the Midlands club keep 12 clean sheets in 22 league matches.

And former Villa hitman Kevin Phillips expects his old club to hand the 23-year-old a new deal to ward off potential suitors.

In an interview with Football Inside, Phillips said of Konsa: “He’s been at the heart of everything Villa have done this season.
“He’s been excellent with Mings, they haven’t been breached too much this year.
“I haven’t seen too many players give him the run-around. To believe he was only at Charlton a few years ago.
“To come to the Premier League and to do what he’s done after they had a difficult season last year is brilliant.

“Naturally, when you get big clubs sniffing around, you’re probably going to get offered a new deal.
‘It happened to me at Sunderland, the club came and said: ‘We want to offer you a new deal.’
“I’m pretty sure that’s gonna happen before the end of the season if he keeps performing the way he is.”
Konsa and his Villa team-mates – who are currently eighth in the Premier League table – will be back in action on Sunday afternoon, welcoming Leicester City to Villa Park.

Ryan Sessegnon warns Tottenham to prep for transfer bids if he doesn’t get chance under Mourinho after Hoffenheim loan

RYAN SESSEGNON is a British youngster abroad in a state of lockdown in the old fashioned German village of Hoffenheim.
But the 20-year-old is already picturing his name up in lights back in North London with a view to proving Jose Mourinho wrong.

Sessegnon joined Spurs in August 2019 from Fulham injured and with expectations to meet – but within a few months Mauricio Pochettino was sacked and his own future in doubt.
Now, after taking a route well-travelled by English talents over the years on loan in the Bundesliga, the left-back is focused on the big picture.
Whether that is at Tottenham, or even back abroad if Mourinho remains unconvinced by his potential.
Sessegnon said: “Of course, my aim is to go back to Spurs and try and break into that team and play, make myself a figure in the team.

“But if that isn’t possible next season or in the future then I want to come back to a league or a club to regain that experience.
“If Tottenham want to play in a four of a five, I see myself in a five as a left wing back or in a four I want to fight for that left back spot as well. That’s always the aim, never changed.
“My defensive side of the game in terms of one-on-ones and being aggressive on the front foot have improved since being out here.
“But English clubs need to be prepared that if they don’t play their young players that there will be clubs like Hoffenheim who will take them on loan.

“And then if they come back to their clubs and England and they think they are still not ready then be prepared for an offer for other clubs to come get them.
“When the time is right to go back we will see.”

Despite an inner confidence shining brightly through Sessegnon, he admits another improvement has been off the pitch where he wants to be more vocal and interact more.
But he can be forgiven for being an aloof character during the pandemic – and has been kept sane by his girlfriend accompanying him with his family unable to visit.
He explained: “I like where I am living at the moment. It is a nice peaceful area by the river. I like to take a walk down by there. I am just a cool, calm person.
“It is a bit different to London where it is more hectic with a lot of people but here there are a lot of peaceful things like the trees, the snow, everything.
“I am with my girlfriend. My family haven’t been able to come out, but if I was here by myself I think my mind would have went a long time ago. To have her here is good.

I was doing rehab and I was still trying to get to know him and building that type of relationship and then I came back fit to hear Poch got sacked. I was like ‘wow’.”
    Ryan Sessegnon

“I like the way it is calm here. That’s just how I am.”
The word ‘calm’ is not the way to describe Tottenham over the past 18 months, as Sessegnon explains.
He said: “From my time when I signed to the time of the international break where I came back, Poch was gone.
“I was doing rehab and I was still trying to get to know him and building that type of relationship and then I came back fit to hear he got sacked. I was like ‘wow’.
“As a new player in an environment where a new manager in Jose’s stature was to come in, obviously I was shocked and then excited.
“When I came back I was doing everything to impress in a positive manner. There was a difficult first few months where I wasn’t being selected at the start but I kept working and kept going and I was trying to stay patient and wait for my time.”

Sessegnon is building a relationship with Jose MourinhoCredit: Getty Images – Getty

That time never really came as Mourinho looked towards his most experienced players for results, but Sessegnon believes he is starting to build a relationship with the Portuguese coach – albeit a virtual one since moving to Germany last October.
He said: “He has been in contact since I have been here. When I scored my first goal he congratulated me and every other day he drops me a message to see how I am doing.
“The main message was for me to go and play games and that’s what he told me. He saw it as a good opportunity for me to bring that experience back.
“It was his birthday the other day so I sent him a little message. He replied.”
Sessegnon is part of one of the most talented and successful English generations of players to come through, alongside the likes of Jadon Sancho, Phil Foden and Bukayo Saka.
With Hoffenheim facing Borussia Dortmund this weekend, Sessegnon could come up against old pal Sancho – if he recovers from a slight injury.
But despite the expectation for this young group of stars to go all the way, Sessegnon insists they are not feeling the pressure to produce when it matters.

He added: “That’s what makes this generation better. Everyone plays free with no pressure. That’s what makes us, us. Look at a lot of young players now the Foden’s, Sancho’s, Saka’s.
“They are all playing with no fear. It is great to see as young players. That’s what makes us good in that way. We go out, do what we have got to do and play with no fear and freedom.
“You are seeing the rewards that they are having. When we all meet up for internationals there is that tight bond together and you hear stuff about the northerners coming together and then the southerners but I don’t really believe in that, everyone mixes in anyway.”
A negative that has arisen from Sessegnon’s time in Germany was being the victim of racist abuse on social media in November.
Sessegnon said: “I couldn’t believe what I was reading to be honest. I didn’t think two ways about it, I had to publish it.
“I had to share it to show the world what is still going on right now which is unbelievable.

There are too many people hiding behind these accounts trying to spread all this negativity and racism.”
    Ryan Sessegnon

“It is not right. I had to make a stand, I had to make a public profile of it so we can spread awareness to the situation.
“There are too many people hiding behind these accounts trying to spread all this negativity and racism in the air which is not good.
“There should be a system put in place to ID yourself to make these accounts. People need to be put into their place.
“I would love to ask them just a simple why? One word: Why? I want to hear their answer. I would be so intrigued to hear what they have got to say.”

Danny Rose set to escape Tottenham exile and seal Trabzonspor transfer after ‘agreement reached’ with Turkish club

DANNY ROSE is set to leave Tottenham to join Turkish side Trabzonspor, reports say.
The left-back is Spurs’ longest-serving player, but has fallen out of favour under manager Jose Mourinho.

So much so, that he has been left out of Tottenham’s Premier League and Europa League squads this season.
Rose, 30, is desperate to leave and, according to talkSPORT, Trabzonspor have now offered the defender a three-and-a-half-year contract.
Rose went out on loan to Newcastle in January last season but returned to London in the summer.
His contract expires at the end of the season meaning Spurs have six months to sell the full-back before he exits for free.

England international Rose has made no secret of his displeasure after repeatedly being overlooked by Mourinho, with footage capturing a tense meeting with the boss in Amazon’s All or Nothing series.
Ben Davies has this season been competing with Sergio Reguilon as Mourinho’s No1 left-back.
They also have Ryan Sessegnon out on loan in the Bundesliga with Hoffenheim.

As a result, Rose has been forced to play for Spurs’ development side.
If the move comes off, he will join Chelsea’s Lewis Baker and Stoke’s Benik Afobe at the Super Lig side.

Tottenham outcast Danny Rose eyed by Turkish side Trabzonspor over transfer with full back out of Jose Mourinho’s plans

Super Lig outfit Trabzonspor have set their sights on the left-back, according to the Daily Mail.

An offer has reportedly been lodged and talks are set to take place between the parties.
Rose, out of contract at the end of the season, fancies a move abroad to kickstart his career.
The 30-year-old has not featured for Tottenham since December 2019 after being frozen out by Jose Mourinho.
He spent the second half of last season on loan at Newcastle.

Trabzonspor have recent history of signing players from England with Chelsea midfielder Lewis Baker and Stoke striker Benik Afone currently on loan.
The Turkish club sit seventh in the Super Lig standings – a disappointing campaign after finishing second last term.
Rose is currently Tottenham’s longest-serving player having joined from Leeds in 2007.
A string of loan spells followed before establishing himself as a regular in the 2013/14 season.

He fell out of favour when Mauricio Pochettino was replaced as manager by Mourinho in the early stages of last season.
Amazon’s All or Nothing documentary captured a heated exchange between Rose and Mourinho over his lack of minutes.
He said: “I believe in myself in that I am Tottenham’s best left-back and I can’t watch centre-backs and right-footed centre-backs play in my position.

“It’s a slap in the face basically.”
Rose sealed a loan move to Newcastle after the chat and made 13 appearances but a permanent deal did not materialise.
The 29-cap England ace was not handed a squad number by Tottenham upon his return and has been training with the Under-23 squad.

Bayern eye Real Madrid defender Eder Militao as transfer replacement for David Alaba but face competition from England

BAYERN MUNICH are considering a move for Real Madrid defender Eder Militao, according to reports.
The Bundesliga champions are looking to replace David Alaba, who is reportedly on the verge of a move to Real Madrid.

Eder Militao, 22, has struggled to hold down a place at Real Madrid since joining from Porto in 2019

Alaba is out of contract at Bayern this summer, with Liverpool and Juventus also rumoured to be interested.
It is believed he will not sign a new deal with the reigning European champions.
Bayern are not the only club to have made an enquiry about Militao, with Juventus, Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham all interested, according to Goal.
The defender is also believed to be on Liverpool’s radar, although it is unlikely they will be signing a defender in January due to the pandemic.

Ramos is one of Real Madrid’s top earners but is demanding more to stay on for a further two years, claim reports
The 22-year-old joined Real at the beginning of last season but has made just 23 appearances in all competitions.
He was overlooked for their recent Super Cup loss to Athletic Bilbao, with Nacho replacing the injured Raphael Varane.
Militao was part of the Brazil squad that won the Copa America in 2019 and has previously played for Sao Paulo and Porto.

The defender remains in Brazil boss Tite’s plans but was left out of the squad for the latest round of World Cup qualifiers.
He does want to remain at Real and fight for his place, although he may change his mind if he is being left out of the Brazil squad.
If he does leave, Real will want to recoup the majority of the €50 million they paid for the player in 2019.

Mauricio Pochettino makes Dele Alli his ‘main transfer target’ as new PSG boss steps up loan chase

TOTTENHAM and Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly set to discuss a loan move for Dele Alli in the coming days.
Mauricio Pochettino has made the midfielder his top target since arriving as Les Parisiens’ new boss.

Jose Mourinho left Dele, 24, on the bench for Spurs’ recent 1-1 draw with Fulham.
After which, the player looked glum on Instagram having made just four league appearances all season.
According to The Guardian, he is keen for a change of scenery in the final months of the season.
And a link-up with old Spurs supremo Pochettino could reignite Dele’s chances of making England’s European Championship squad.

But Tottenham are said to be against the idea of a loan exit, given their impending fixture mayhem as they compete on several fronts.
Talks are reportedly set to continue in the coming days.

SunSport stated last month that Dele is seen as a potentially vital asset in PSG’s assault on Ligue 1 and the Champions League.

Tottenham legend Glenn Hoddle believes the midfielder must make a decision this month, as to whether he is happy to remain patient in the hope of an eventual opening in the starting line-up.
The 63-year-old told SunSport: “I can’t see him getting in at the moment, because they’re winning.
“He’s only being used in Europa football and the League Cup.

He’s going to have to wait for an injury, then he’s got to make a big impact on Jose.
    Glenn Hoddle

“He’s not going to get in unless there’s an injury or a lack of form. The lack of form goes out the window because there’s a settled team there.
“He’s going to have to wait for an injury, then he’s got to make a big impact on Jose to play. I’m talking about playing week in, week out, and he needs that.
“If he feels he can’t do that, he needs to communicate that to the manager, and if he sees it that way as well, a loan deal could be possible.”
