Tottenham star Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg wanted by old boss Jose Mourinho in transfer reunion at Roma this summer

PIERRE-EMILE HOJBJERG could be on his way to Roma in the next transfer window, reports have suggested.According to Corriere della Sera, the 26-year-old could end up on the market as he hasn’t reached the level of performance that he has done in previous seasons.

Former Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho reportedly values the Dane very highly.
He was ‘the special one’s’ first signing as Spurs manager after joining the club from Southampton for a fee of around £15million in the summer of 2020.
He went on to play every minute of the 2020/21 Premier League campaign.
Hojbjerg has already said that he felt at his most comfortable under Mourinho’s leadership, so the prospect of a move could seem appealing.
The midfielder has somewhat fallen out-of-favour with new manager Antonio Conte, especially after the arrival of Rodrigo Bentancur.
He has made 20 appearances so far this season in the Premier League, scoring twice.

When speaking to the official Tottenham Hotspur website, Conte described him as a “warrior”.
Hojbjerg could be looking at a guaranteed place in the starting line-up at Roma, with Mourinho on the hunt for a new midfielder.
The 59-year-old has reportedly given up on his pursuit for Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka and is now looking elsewhere. More

Dusan Vlahovic’s agent ‘not even considering Arsenal and Tottenham transfer offers’ as he closes in on Juventus move

DUSAN VLAHOVIC’S agent is reportedly ‘not even considering Arsenal and Tottenham’s transfer offers’ as the star closes in on a move to Juventus. The Serbian forward was the No1 target for Gunners boss Mikel Arteta, who flew to America to meet with owner Stan Kroenke last night, this month.

Spurs manager Antonio Conte is also believed to have identified the 21-year-old Fiorentina ace as the man to help take some of the scoring load off Harry Kane’s shoulders.
Vlahovic only has 18 months remaining on his contract and has refused to sign an extension.
Fiorentina slapped a £58.8million price tag on his head as they aim to maximise their profit on the goalscorer.
Now both of the North London rivals look set to miss out on Vlahovic with Juventus to offer £50.4m to La Viola.
And Sky Italy claims they are now in talks with the attacker over a five-year deal, with the player’s agent not considering any offers from Arsenal or Spurs.
Fiorentina’s sporting director, Daniele Prade, recently said: “It’s an important valuation, over €70m as a lump sum with no swap deals and no payment structures. The president has imposed it on us.

“All of our doors are open in this situation, because we need to understand what the players and his agents really want to do.
“We received some important offers for him. Offers that were very substantial but we never got any feedback from his agents.
“On our side, there has always been great transparency. I refer to what Joe Barone [Fiorentina’s chief executive] said, all our doors are open.
“We’re ready to sit down at a table and talk. We made various important offers for a contract extension, and we also have had a few offers to sell him in a strong way.
“I’m saying this because our club makes €75m a year and we can’t afford to lose a valuable asset for free.
“They were all valid and satisfactory offers, with payment methods that suited us. We couldn’t go ahead with the deal because there was never any contact with the player’s agents.”
Arteta has admitted there is a ‘cloud’ hanging over Arsenal’s forward options after skipper Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was axed for disciplinary reasons and both Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah entering the final six months of their contracts.
He has also added that the Gunners are working hard on new additions and that they ‘are open’ to a big signing as long as it’s financially viable.
Vlahovic, who has seven goals in 14 games for his country, joined Fiorentina from Partizan Belgrade in 2018.
He got 21 last season for the Italian club and has continued that red-hot form by scoring 20 in 24 matches so far in the current campaign.
Italian sources also say Vlahovic’s preference is to join a side competing in the Champions League – something the Gunners and Spurs cannot offer at the moment and may struggle to next term.

Tottenham planning fresh move for Wolves star Adama Traore and could offer Matt Doherty in part-exchange transfer

TOTTENHAM are plotting a move to sign Adama Traore, according to reports. And the North Londoners could offer Matt Doherty back to Wolves in a part-exchange transfer.
Tottenham have reignited their interest in Adama Traore from WolvesCredit: AP
According to The Athletic, Antonio Conte wants to convert the winger into a wing-back.
He feels Emerson Royal is not offering enough in attack and the plan would see Traore coached to fulfil his defensive duties.
Conte did something similar with Victor Moses at Chelsea in 2016-17 as the Blues won the Premier League.
Spurs were linked with Traore last summer when Nuno Espirito Santo had his brief stint in the White Hart Lane dugout.
But that deal fell through as the Spaniard remained at Molineux.
Traore, 25, has 18 months left on his current deal – and does not look likely to sign an extension.

Wolves would want around £20million if they sold him in this January window with Liverpool, West Ham and Valencia also linked.
The former Barcelona youngster has made 20 appearances in all competitions for Wanderers this season – but is yet to register a single goal or assist.
Doherty, 29, might be used as part of the transfer.
That would give Bruno Lage extra reinforcements – although he tends to use Nelson Semedo as his first-choice wing-back down the right.
Doherty – who joined Spurs from Wolves in 2020 after a decade in the West Midlands – has not started a Premier League game all season.
He did come on at left wing-back against Southampton on December 28 and started there in Wednesday’s Carabao Cup defeat to Chelsea – but was hooked at half-time.

Spurs are reportedly lining up a bid for Juventus centre-half Matthijs de Ligt.
The North Londoners are also said to be keeping tabs on Philippe Coutinho.
But Kylian Mbappe ruled out “ever” signing for Tottenham – despite hailing Conte.
Redknapp added: “I remember going back to manage Portsmouth in 2006 and they had been cut adrift at the bottom of the league,
“But I managed to get a couple of players in during the January window and they made all the difference.
“I took three lads from Tottenham, Pedro Mendes, Sean Davis and Noe Pamarot, and that was one of Daniel Levy’s special buy one get one free deals.
“When they came in we managed to get ourselves off the bottom and have a fantastic run and stay up.
“The January window saved us that year. It’s a very difficult window but when you’re struggling it’s a godsend.”
As the January transfer window is in full swing, Papa John’s is looking to make its own winter signings with the help of footie legends Redknapp and Ally McCoist.
The pair have teamed up to give fans of participating EFL/SPFL clubs the chance for two people to put pen to paper on a real-life pro contract with a ‘Sign for Your Club’ campaign.
All fans, regardless of age or gender, will be in with a chance to earn the contract as well as a massive £15,000 for their EFL or SPFL club.
Redknapp said: “It has been a difficult 18 months. Lots of people have been struggling financially so it’s a great incentive for people to do it for their club.
“Many clubs need that bit of help and I’m sure they can put it to a lot of good use.”
All fans need to do to be in with a chance to live the dream is tell Harry and Ally why they deserve this once in a lifetime opportunity here.

Tottenham to rival Arsenal in £65m transfer swoop for Dusan Vlahovic with Antonio Conte desperate for Harry Kane support

TOTTENHAM are plotting to snatch Serbian sensation Dusan Vlahovic from under the noses of rivals Manchester City and Arsenal.New Spurs boss Antonio Conte wants another striker in January to take the weight off Harry Kane.

The ambitious Italian only took charge of the North Londoners at the beginning of this month.
But he has already made it clear to chairman Daniel Levy and managing director of football Fabio Paratici that he needs more options in attack.
Vlahovic is top of Conte’s shopping list after bagging 21 goals for Fiorentina in Serie A last season.
The frontman, 21, has netted eight goals in 12 league games this term and Italian giants Juventus are also keen.
He was already on Paratici’s radar when the Italian joined Spurs as their new recruitment guru last summer.
With Vlahovic’s contract due to expire in 2023, Fiorentina are said to be willing to cash in on their £65million-rated marksman.

But Tottenham are facing stiff competition from the Gunners, City and Juve — although reports in Italy claim the player’s agent is refusing to take Arsenal’s calls amid speculation he has agreed terms with another club.
If that club is Juventus, it could be a double disaster for Conte — as the Old Lady has been offering another Spurs target, winger Dejan Kulusevski, as a makeweight in the deal.
Paratici was the man who signed the Swedish wideman, 21, for the Turin giants back in January 2020.
Tottenham are also keeping tabs on Club Brugge’s 20-year-old attacking midfielder Charles De Ketelaere ahead of the January transfer window.
Although the Belgian is said to prefer a switch to Prem champs City.
But despite calling for reinforcements in January, Conte is refusing to give up on the club’s forgotten stars.
He has told outcasts Dele Alli and Harry Winks — tipped to leave after being frozen out by former bosses Nuno Espirito Santo and Jose Mourinho — they still have futures at the club.
And they have responded well to being drilled hard by Conte during the international break.
The England pair are among ten senior stars who were put through their paces by the Italian and his coaching staff this week, while their pals were away with their countries.

How Tottenham could line-up under Antonio Conte following January transfer window including Dejan Kulusevski

TOTTENHAM could look like a very different proposition under Antonio Conte by the time the January transfer window slams shut.Spurs have been boosted by the appointment of the 52-year-old Italian who has won league titles at Juventus, Chelsea and Inter Milan.

It is believed that one of Conte’s stipulations to taking the job was that he would have money to spend in the transfer market.
And the cash could begin to flow as early as January when he looks to improve his squad for the rest of the season.
One man they have recently been linked with is Dejan Kulusevski, a winger who would fit perfectly into Conte’s 3-4-3 formation either as a wingback or a right-sided attacker.
The Juve outcast has attracted interest from both Spurs and Arsenal as he seeks more game time away from Serie A.
Kulusevski was initially brought to Juve from Parma for £30m back in January 2020 by Spurs’ director of football Fabio Paratici.
He has scored eight goals and assisted eight more in 62 appearances for the Italian giants.

Meanwhile, other players Spurs have been linked with include Inter Milan centre-back Stefan de Vrij.
The 29-year-old Dutchman won the Serie A title under Conte last season and could be interested in joining him in North London.
He would form a back three alongside Eric Dier and summer arrival Cristian Romero.
Central midfield is another area Spurs may look to bolster by dipping into the January market.
Oliver Skipp and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg currently occupy the middle of the park for Tottenham.
But AC Milan man Franck Kessie could be set to compete with them for a starting place as the Italian side look to offload him before his contract expires at the end of the season.

If Conte misses out on Kessie, Italy midfielder Nico Barella is another possible target for the Lilywhites.
Tottenham currently sit ninth in the Premier League table with 16 points from their opening 11 games.
Their next game after the international break will be Conte’s first home league match in charge when they host Leeds on November 20.
