He been at the San Siro since 2017 and he has featured 223 times for the club.
Skriniar played an integral role in the squad that won the Serie A title back in 2020/21.
City’s priority for 2023 is reinforcing their midfield in the future but the ex-Sampdoria man remains a target.
But boss Pep Guardiola has publicly spoken about how his centre-backs have struggled to stay fit and Nathan Ake almost left the club in the summer.

City snapped up Manuel Akanji towards the end of the recent window but they are open to the idea of buying another centre-back.
Skriniar has long been on the radar of Chelsea and despite opting for Wesley Fofana they could be in the market again for a defender if Graham Potter wishes.
Spurs have also shown an interest in Skriniar too as he has worked under boss Antonio Conte at Inter.
Paris Saint-Germain wanted him too but the Italian giants rejected approaches from them in the summer.

The Ligue 1 champions reportedly saw a £43million bid turned down.
But unless Simone Inzaghi’s side can persuade Skriniar to sign a new deal, they could lose him for nothing as he will be free to discuss pre-contract agreements with non-Italian clubs from January.
Inter Milan could be set for a busy transfer window come next summer with reports suggesting they could look to loan Romelu Lukaku again. More

Bayern Munich ‘make Harry Kane top transfer target’ and German side ‘have the money’ to sign Tottenham star in summer

BAYERN MUNICH have reportedly made Harry Kane their top summer transfer target. And the Bundesliga giants allegedly “have the money” to complete what would be the blockbuster signing.

The England international striker, 29, tried to force through a move to Manchester City just over a year ago but Spurs dug their heels in and kept their talisman.
He was then linked with Bayern during the recent summer window, but once again Tottenham refused to do business and insisted that the star was going nowhere.
However, speculation continues to rumble on over Kane’s future due to his contract ending in 2024.
He would then be able to move abroad and leave for nothing, which could force Antonio Conte’s side to cash in at the end of this season rather than risk losing him on a free.

Now a fresh report on Sky Sport Italia‘s special transfer edition has poured more fuel on the fire regarding a potential move to Bayern.
Journalist Florian Plettenberg said: “I am convinced that Kane will be Bayern Munich’s real market target next summer.
“It will depend on the player’s performance this season, but Bayern has the money. Coman, Mane and Gnabry are there, but a number nine is missing.”
His colleague Marc Behrenbeck then added: “I am sure, Bayern Munich will bet strongly on Harry Kane. The discussion is already underway.

Train drivers at 12 rail companies are planning to walk out on October 1 and 5 amid a long-running dispute over pay.
Arsenal are due to host their neighbours the day the planned strikes starts at 12:30pm at the Emirates.
And that could mean that the Premier League, police and safety chiefs could be forced into moving the fixture.
Brighton’s clash with Crystal Palace has already been POSTPONED due to planned train strikes.

And it could cause further headaches for Gunners boss Mikel Arteta after last week’s home game with Everton and their Europa League match with PSV were rescheduled due to the death of The Queen.
The North London Derby may not be the only game at risk that weekend with other matches that require away supporters travelling long distances scheduled, such as Liverpool vs Brighton, Fulham vs Newcastle and Southampton vs Everton.
The news comes as members of the Transport Salaried Staffs’ Association union (TSSA) are set to strike from midday on September 26 for 24 hours.
The decision, set to impact most of Britain’s rail network, is among latest action amid an ongoing dispute over pay, job security and conditions.

Alongside nine train operators, staff at Network Rail will also go on strike.
They are demanding the Government come back to the negotiating table to revise what union barons branded an “insulting” two per cent pay rise – rejected earlier in the summer.
Union members at TransPennine Express, West Midlands Trains, Avanti West Coast, c2c and CrossCountry are set to strike.

East Midlands Railway, Great Western Railway, LNER and Southeastern will also be impacted by staff walkouts.
The RMT union, responsible for the strikes earlier this year, went on strike last month over pay disputes.
Those walk outs saw the nation’s rail networks thrown into chaos on August 18 and August 20 when around 40,000 staff hung up their uniforms – just weeks after strikes on July 27 and July 30.

He linked up with Portuguese side Vitoria on a free transfer – just three years after he was compared to Lionel Messi by Mauricio Pochettino.
Spurs allowed him to make the move to Vitoria for nothing in exchange for a 50 per cent sell-on fee.
And after impressing with the Primeira Liga outfit, he was snapped up by Sporting earlier this year for around £9m.
According to the Telegraph, Antonio Conte’s side agreed with Sporting to transfer his sell-on clause to his new contract, instead of banking £4.5m.

Edwards’ new deal boasts a whopping £52m release clause, which Spurs would be eligible to receive £26m.

The England youth international – capable of playing as an attacking midfielder, winger or centre-forward – showed Tottenham what they are missing on Tuesday.

And he almost capped his impressive performance with an iconic solo goal, but he spurned his chance from close range.
The former Norwich loanee picked up the ball near the halfway line, glided past Eric Dier, before shrugging the England international away and breezing past Ivan Perisic.
He then played a neat one-two with Francisco Trincao, skipped past Cristian Romero in the box, only to see his close-range shot brilliantly saved by Hugo Lloris.

Speaking after the match, Edwards revealed his desire to return to the Premier League one day.
The youngster told BT Sport: “It feels great and I think we deserved it. We showed how we can play.
“I wouldn’t say extra special, but it was a special feeling to play against Spurs. It was good to see people I know – players and coaching staff.
