Dulux become official partner of Tottenham before brutally trolling club over empty trophy cabinet and dodgy defence

TOTTENHAM’S slump in form has got so bad they are now getting trolled by their OWN sponsors. Spurs announced Dulux as their official paint supplier on Thursday before the company christened the partnership by immediately mocking them on Twitter.

They made jibes referencing Tottenham’s questionable defence as well as the club’s empty trophy cabinet.
Jamie Redknapp slammed Jose Mourinho for making Spurs boring but even if it is like watching paint dry, surely this is a step too far.
Alongside an image of the Dulux dog at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Spurs tweeted: “We are delighted to announce @duluxuk, the nation’s number one paint brand, our first ever Official Paint Supplier.”
One cheeky fan replied: “Can the dog play centre-back?”
And the social media admin controlling the Dulux account incredibly hit back with: “He might do a better job Chris.”
The tweet was later deleted as fans caught wind of the more than questionable online quips.
Mourinho was asked to comment on the club’s latest partner during his press conference but the Portuguese boss appeared to be unaware of the drama when he replied: “What’s that?”
With Spurs facing Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final later this month, one supporter suggested it would be a good time to paint the trophy cabinet.
But Dulux stunningly replied with a photo of an unused cabinet with Spurs badges on alongside a ‘For Sale’ message before again deleting the picture.

Dulux mocked Spurs’ ‘dusty’ trophy cabinet

Tottenham have not won a trophy since the 2008 League Cup triumph but could end their 13-year drought on April 25.
Another reply calling for the ‘dusty’ cabinet to be painted was met with a Dulux reply which said: “Don’t be silly, surfaces should be dust free before painting.”
Social media was rife with hilarious comments as the in-house trolling went viral.
The term Dulux was trending on Twitter in the UK.
Fans even joked that Arsenal’s mascot Gunnersaurus had started working on the Dulux social media team after he was famously furloughed by the Gunners during the pandemic.

Tottenham boss Skinner focused on defeating Arsenal in WSL North London derby

REHANNE SKINNER hopes Tottenham Women can make WSL history by toppling Arsenal for the first time at the home of Spurs’ Prem team. And the former Lionesses assistant coach is not letting memories of past glory with the Gunners get in the way of her goal later.

Tottenham, who are eighth, are set to take on a resurgent Arsenal in a behind closed doors derby at Spurs 62,000-seater ground.
And it will be the first time the team have faced Arsenal under Skinner who enjoyed a trophy-laden spell as Gunners’ assistant manager from 2010 to 2013.
Skinner, 41, who won two WSL titles with Arsenal, said: “I have got an attachment to Arsenal and an attachment to Leicester which is the club I started at.
“I think you always have those special memories that you created through those periods.
“But football is football and I’m here to focus on the job I’m doing at Tottenham.
“At the same time, it’s nice playing against the club that you were at before.
“Three points are big in any game. I think getting them in a North London derby is something people can’t underestimate.
“It is a different game when you play the most local team with a history and a reputation like they have on the men’s side of things.
“It sometimes carries over a bit into the women’s team.
“Getting those three points from any game right now is really important to us. Getting it from Arsenal will be even better.”

Skinner, whose side are targeting their first win since a 3-1 defeat of Aston Villa in December, is reported to have the FA’s highest Psychology in Football qualification.
Using this to help her players excel on and off the pitch is a subject the former England Women’s No2 is passionate about.
And she has help from Hockey ace Helen Richardson-Walsh who won a gold medal with Team GB women’s hockey team at the Rio 2016 Olympics.
Skinner added: “Psychology in elite sport is really vital.
“And often, to be honest, I think it can be overlooked – the stuff that goes on off the pitch that players have to handle.
“Ultimately affects performance if it’s not managed properly.”
“I don’t think you get through a day or a coaching session without having to consider what that looks like when you’ve got a squad of 23 people with different feelings, personalities and backgrounds.”

“It’s about being able to bring all of that together to work in your favour at the time when it really matters and developing skills as you would with a ball.
“It’s definitely something that we work towards and I’ve got a really good support team.
“Helen Richardson-Walsh is here as our performance psychologist who’s a gold medal winner, been there done that and got the t-shirt.”
Meanwhile, Arsenal, who are chasing a return to the Champions League, are looking to pick-up their fourth win on the bounce.
Joe Montemurro’s side are eager to humble their rivals at the home of Tottenham’s Prem team after beating them 2-0 in front of a record crowd of 38,262 last season.
With fans currently prohibited from attending stadiums supporters can watch the game on FA Player and on Tottenham’s official website.

And life-long Arsenal fan and full-back Lotte Wubben-Moy, 22, is particularly keen to see her side pick up a win.
Montemurro, 51, said: “Lotte has had this massive smile on her face all week.
“And, coupled with the fact that she scored last week and is showing her true capabilities, I think for me, the exciting thing is what’s to come.
“We think she’s a player who will personify what it means to be Arsenal”.

Tottenham and Everton transfer target Lucas Vazquez ‘issues Real Madrid contract ultimatum as deal runs down’

REAL MADRD have been issued with a contract ultimatum by star winger Lucas Vazquez, according to reports.
Vazquez’s deal at the Santiago Bernabeu runs out at the end of the season and talks over a contract extension have hit a snag.

Real Madrid ace Lucas Vazquez has issued a contract ultimatum

According to ABC, the Spain international is asking for a four-year extension with a 15 per cent increase in his wages and wants it all to be sorted within this month.
The 29-year-old, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham and Everton in the summer, turns 30 in July and wants to seal the last major contract of his career.
If Real meet his demands then Vazquez’s annual salary would rise north of €5million-a-year (£4m).
But Los Blancos are only willing to offer a three-year extension and have to impose a 10 per cent reduction on all players’ contracts due to the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

Club sources claim that Real can’t meet his demands when players like Luka Modric, Casemiro, Luka Jovic and Arsenal loanee Martin Odegaard have agreed to the same cuts ahead of next season.
That may prove a boost for Tottenham and Everton’s hopes of securing a deal of their own.
The versatile Spaniard, who can also play as a midfielder and right-back, will become a free agent if he doesn’t put pen to paper on a new contract by the end of the season.

Spurs boss Jose Mourinho and Toffees manager Carlo Ancelotti were in charge of Real while Vazquez was cutting his teeth in the academy.
That could work as an incentive for the Real ace, who seems determined to continue playing at the top level.
Real manager Zinedine Zidane wants Vazquez to stay as he’s held a regular spot in his starting line-up this season, amassing 27 appearances across all competitions in the process.
