LIVERPOOL face Luton in their rearranged Premier League clash on Wednesday night. But the tie is NOT being shown live on TV due to a bizarre rule.

The Reds were originally set to host the Hatters at Anfield this coming Saturday, February 24.
But due to Jurgen Klopp’s side booking their place in Sunday’s Carabao Cup final against Chelsea, the Premier League match needed to be rescheduled.
And the clash was brought forward three days to Wednesday night, with a 7.30pm kick-off under the lights on Merseyside.
However, fans will not be able to watch the action live on UK TV.

That is because the match was not originally selected by broadcasters Sky Sports or TNT Sports.
And that meant it was due to be played at 3pm on Saturday – during the nationwide TV football blackout.
Therefore, the match cannot subsequently be picked up by Sky or TNT because the companies have a limited number of matches as part of their deals with the Premier League.
So the fixture remains untelevised – just like Manchester City vs Brentford 24 hours earlier, which was moved due to the Treble winners’ involvement in the Club World Cup over Christmas.

‘Ask the missus’ – Peter Crouch and Joe Cole in stitches live on TV as TNT Sports presenter asks ‘does size matter?’

PETER CROUCH and Joe Cole were left in stitches after they were posed an innuendo loaded question on live TV.TNT Sports presenter Lynsey Hipgrave joked around with the two ex-pros as the trio brought fans coverage of Brentford vs Liverpool.
Lynsey Hipgrave left Peter Crouch and Joe Cole in stitches with her crude question
Hipgrave was asking the experts about how both teams were setting up before the game kicked off when she saw an opportunity to crack a joke.
Discussing the physical centre-forwards starting for both sides, Ivan Toney and Darwin Nunez, the 44-year-old asked: “Does size matter?”
She said: “We seem to be seeing so many towering number nines in the Premier League this season, so I guess the question is… does size matter?”
The hilarious question left both Cole and Crouch unable to control their laughter.

Crouchy, who himself is an unbelievable 6ft 7inches tall, batted off the question, saying: “Ooh Lyns, what a question.
“I don’t know if I’m equipped to answer that one!”
While Cole, who is on the opposite end of the spectrum at just 5ft 9inches tall, suggested his partner would have to answer the question for him.
He joked: “You’ll have to ask the missus.”

On the pitch at the G-Tech Community Stadium it would seem stature still matters as Darwin Nunez utilised his power to get on the end of a Diogo Jota assist and put Liverpool a goal to the good against Brentford.
The Reds added another two goals to Nunez’s opener through Alexis Mac Allister and Mohamed Salah.
But Ivan Toney caused concern for Jurgen Klopp when he pulled one back for the Bees with 15 minutes to play.
The German boss was able to breather a sigh of relief soon afterwards though when Cody Gakpo added a fourth to put Liverpool out of sight and seal a 4-1 victory. More

His Golden Boot exploits at the 1986 World Cup for England earned him a dream move to Barcelona, where he achieved cult hero status with an El Clasico hat-trick against bitter rivals Real Madrid.
Lineker, who helped the Three Lions to reach the semi-final of Italia ‘90, returned to Tottenham in 1989 and won the FA Cup.
He finished his playing days with a two-year spell in Japan at Grampus Eight before returning to these shores and working as a pundit.
And after impressing on Match of the Day, Lineker was made host of the long-running hit BBC show in 1999 as he replaced Des Lynham, and he’s had the job ever since.

During an appearance on The Rest is Football podcast alongside Alan Shearer, they were asked to name a five-a-side team out of the pundits they have or currently work with.
And Lineker opted for a brilliant side of legendary names who now start on BBC Sport, Sky Sports and TNT Sports when naming his.
Speaking to Newcastle’s all-time top scorer Shearer, he began with: “You’d definitely be in my five-a-side, Alan.
“I’d have Thierry Henry, who we’ve worked with many times of course in World Cups and hopefully the Euros.”

After naming Arsenal’s record goalscorer, he then opted for another ex-Gunner.
“How about Cesc Fabregas,” before both he and Shearer agreed that Roy Keane would be in there.

But Lineker then seemingly opted for a defender instead of the now Sky Sports pundit Keane – and Shearer was quick to state that he would not argue with his choice.
“Rio Ferdinand – defender,” he said.
And then after Manchester United icon Peter Schmeichel and ex-Newcastle stopper Shay Given were both touted to be keepers, it was the Great Dane that Lineker picked as he said he had “just edged it”. More
