The incident came as the star took part in a ‘Countdown challenge’ stunt with a group of influencers called The Sidemen.
They were asked to come up with a nine-letter word just like the hit daytime English and maths quiz show.
The letters O,I,A,K,P,V,Z,U and B appeared on the screen during the Sidemen Sunday segment before KSI was asked to form a word.
He said: “We need points and I don’t mean this maliciously but the word p***.”

Fellow hosts Chunkz and Filly fell about laughing at KSI’s answer, while he jokingly said “sorry”.
But the slur sparked fury among fans and famous faces who blasted the influencer – who has 12.7 million Instagram followers – for “dehumanising brown people”.
BBC presenter Bobby Friction posted: “I had this racial slur thrown at me & got physical beats by racists for my entire childhood.
“Genuinely upset that KSI (a guy my children love) did this & thought it was funny.

“The rest of them laughing can go f*** themselves too. People dehumanising brown people like it normal.”
Meanwhile renowned health presenter Dr Ranj Singh blasted the internet sensation saying: “I’m not just upset, I’m disgusted.”
Teacher and broadcaster Mehreen Baig added the comments and reaction was “horrifically disappointing from KSI and his crew”.
The video has since been deleted.
KSI – whose YouTube videos have clocked up over 11 billion views – issued a grovelling apology on Twitter following Sunday’s incident.
    ‘CAUSED A LOT OF HURT’
He repeated his apology ahead of his fight with Joe Fournier at a boxing weigh in press conference on Wednesday.
He said: “I want to take this opportunity to offer my deepest and most sincere apologies for my words and actions.
“In a recent video I used a racial term that is offensive to so, so many especially in the south Asian community.
“There are no excuses for what I said and I recognise that I’ve caused a lot of hurt and disappointment to so many people that look up to me, and my ignorance has only reinforced the negative stereotypes that have existed for way too long in this country.
“I want to express my heartfelt regret for what I said and I want you to know I am genuinely ashamed and deeply sorry for any pain or suffering I have caused.
“I realise my words have consequences and as a public figure I have a responsibility to use my platform for good rather than perpetuating discrimination and this week I have failed to do this.”
It came as KSI was filmed talking to an imam at a mosque in Bradford, who told onlookers how the boxer was visiting to learn, with KSI saying he wanted to “educate himself”.
He will take a break from social media following the slur.
A statement from The Sidemen posted on Twitter said the video “was completely unacceptable and inexcusable” adding “the fact the incident was made light of on the show was wrong and compounded the hurt”.

Inside KSI’s controversies from his ‘rape joke scandal’ to racism storm that’s seen him take social media break

KSI recently hit the headlines again after being embroiled in a racism storm that has seen him take a social media break. The YouTuber-turned-boxer said the word “p***” in a Sidemen video – the group he founded alongside six other creators.

The British rapper, real name Olajide William Olatunji, made the slur during a video with his YouTube group, where they were playing a Countdown challenge.
From his selection of letters, KSI caused outrage by creating a four-letter derogatory word for people of South Asian origin.
The video has been taken down and he issued an apology for an offence he may have caused.
However, fans have criticised the 29-year-old despite his apology, claiming he should have known better.

And this isn’t the first time the popular YouTuber has found himself in hot water, having courted headlines for a number of wrong reasons over the years.
    ‘Rape jokes’
KSI was accused of trivialising rape by making what was referred to as “rape faces” in a series of his online videos.
The clips show the star in a variety of settings, turning to camera with a menacing expression and making sexually suggestive gestures.
Many said pulling his “rape face”, which would regularly appear in his videos, trivialised sexual assault.

He apologised for his past content in 2020 after a backlash from women’s charities and social media users.
    Sexist behaviour
KSI sparked controversy in 2012 when he asked women at Eurogamer Expo what STIs they have.
He asked one woman what was her “favourite STI”, to which she reluctantly replied “chlamydia”.
KSI then asked her: “Is that because you have it?”
Another part of the clip saw him quiz a woman at the gaming conference about the size of her breasts, stating: “I can’t see them?”
That video has seen been removed from YouTube, with KSI later expressing his regret over the incident.
He said: “I’m in shock. I can’t believe I was like that. People enjoyed that video?!
“I can see now why I got into a lot of trouble. I was such a virgin back then.
“I think if I do anything remotely close to this again, I will change my whole outfit so I can show people that I’m a different character.”
He was banned for life from Eurogamer Expo events.
    Microsoft axing
In 2013, Microsoft severed all ties with KSI after the company was criticised for employing him to promote the launch of Xbox One.
KSI had performed a song with three other artists but Microsoft faced backlash from fans.
Widespread anger and concern over his involvement saw Microsoft vow not to work with him again at any point.
    Offensive remarks
In another YouTube video, uploaded in August 2014, KSI asks a Page 3 model about her sex life, while repeatedly calling her a sl*t in the voiceover.
He has also since apologised for his behaviour with a spokesman saying he had made a “mistake as a teenager”.
While in 2021, KSI issued an apology after being accused of being transphobic something he strongly denied.
    Suicide controversy
In 2018, KSI released a new diss track music video with a Logan Paul look-alike ahead of their boxing fight.
The video was made in reference to Logan’s scandalous Suicide Forest footage which landed his fellow YouTuber in very hot water.

Despite how controversial that video was for his Prime drink partner – who was then a rival – KSI decided to make light of the situation.
KSI’s representatives have been contacted for comment. More

But bizarrely, during the interview Xhaka’s face could be seen with a cowboy hat and a moustache placed over his face.
The interview itself was far from orthodox as well, with Barrelo appearing to have only a modest knowledge of football.
One question he asked cued laughter from Xhaka: “To become a footballer, you have to have signed somewhere, with the Illuminati or something. Is that true?”
Xhaka responded with laughter and with a shake of his head.

Later in the interview, Barrelo – who was wearing an Arsenal jacket – asked: “Where do you live exactly?”
The 30-year-old responded by saying “London.”
Barrelo then asked about Xhaka’s ability to speak German, with Xhaka promptly reminding him of his time playing in Germany.
He said: “Yes, but I was born in Switzerland and was in Mönchengladbach for four years.”

Following this, Xhaka asked whether Barrelo was actually an Arsenal fan.
He asked: “Are you actually an Arsenal fan or are you just pretending?”
To which Barrelo responded: “With TikTok [demands] and so I stopped watching football.
“That’s why I didn’t know where you were playing.”
Xhaka has been a mainstay in Arsenal’s midfield this season, excelling in his new role at left centre mid.
It has seen him score six goals and add five assists in 38 games.
And his strong form has helped Arsenal forge an eight-point lead at the top of the Premier League table as the Gunners target a first league title since 2004.
They will be hoping to strengthen their position by beating Leeds on Saturday after Manchester City are in action against Liverpool. More

I presented Soccer AM and got given away as a prize… I had to spend a day hoovering some bloke’s house in Preston

IT will be tough to fill the vacuum when Soccer AM goes off air in may.But long-running star Rocket might just know how – as he once once had to hoover a stranger’s house after show chiefs gave him away as a prize.

Rocket, aka James Long, has revealed his most amazing experiences on the Saturday morning football show, having worked on it until 2017, for 19 of its 28 years.
Sky Sports plan to blow the final whistle on the light-hearted programme on May 27.
Rocket’s highs include bringing Christmas joy to the families of troops in Afghanistan and hope to street kids in Kenya.
But he had to dust himself down following a more unusual role.

He said: “I got given away as a prize when I got sent to Preston.
“Some guy won me on the show and I had to hoover his house and clean his curtains.”
Having joined for work experience aged 15, he became a runner for the show before emerging as a fixture in front of the camera.
He added: “There were so many cool things that I managed to do with my time there.

“But the one thing that really stood out  is when we went to Afghanistan we got videos of the troops doing Christmas messages to loved ones.
“We must have shot about 30 or 40 video messages of all these troops because they weren’t going to see their families.
“It must have run for about seven minutes at the end of one show and even now I get choked up because it was so powerful and emotional.
“I just remember the difference it would have made to kids watching the show to see their dad saying, ‘Merry Christmas’.
“That’s one thing that really sticks out for me – the good that Soccer AM did, the difference that it made.
“It was one of those moments where you felt proud to be a part of that.”
Mainly it was lighter moments – “I got to play the first match at the new Wembley Stadium, turn Stoke’s Christmas lights on”.
But it’s the life-changing events that stir him the most.
Rocket said: “Going over to Kenya and giving out the football shirts that all the children sent into the street children, helping them get off glue because they were all addicted to sniffing glue.
“It was like a way of getting them into work. We would reward them for tasks around the area, maintaining pitches, maintaining nets, and they would come and play every day.
“They would get fed milk and bread and they would get medical care if they had cuts and stuff.

“It was a way of making them feel like a normal kid because out there they were seen as like pests, a nuisance, by the police.
