ENGLAND fans will be forced to break the bank to follow the Three Lions at the World Cup in mega-wealthy Qatar.Our investigation there shows supporters will have to splash out more than £9,000 per night on a hotel.

And beer will only be available in special zones around stadiums and some venues elsewhere in the capital Doha. Fans will have to book hotel rooms to guarantee late-night pints.

But Dubai is only about the size of Yorkshire and may not be big enough to accommodate the 1.5million fans expected to flood in.
Most hotels are already sold out and prices for the few rooms still available for the tournament starting on November 21, such as at the Four Seasons in Doha, are soaring.
For those lucky enough to be there to follow manager Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions, the only place to buy “take home” booze is The Qatar Distribution Company — and customers need a special permit proving they are residents.

The first clash would come if England play their Round 16 game on December 4.
A source said Strictly usually starts by 7.20pm “so a 7pm kick-off is a problem”.
We visited it and found that a black market trade was operating outside its front gates, with crates of beer being passed from one car boot to another — risking a jail sentence of at least six months.
Usually booze is only available in hotels but fans travelling to Qatar will at least be able to enjoy a pre-match pint after it was announced alcohol will be served in kiosks outside stadiums for ticket-holders and at other venues including Beach Clubs in Doha.
Qatar tourism chief Berthold Trenkel outlined the special measures that will be put in place during the tournament to let thirsty fans get a drink in the desert heat.
But he warned: “It will be different inside the actual stadiums. There will only be zero alcohol beer actually inside.”
The Beach Clubs are a late addition and a further sign of the country’s willingness to bend its normal rules and regulations for the duration of the tournament.
But expats warned fans could still be facing a “culture shock”.
Angela Norton and husband Chris, both 60, emigrated from Chester seven years ago so she could take a hospital job and he could enjoy his retirement.
She said: “There are lots of rules they won’t be aware of like the need for women to cover up in malls.
“If you wear shorts or a little dress you will get told off and the other women will spit at you.
“The cost of alcohol is so high that most expats only drink at happy hour between 5pm and 8pm where a pint of beer is still nearly £8.
“Drinking in public is banned and if you try, the police will turn up and take you to jail. There are CCTV cameras everywhere.”
Buying alcohol in corner shops, supermarkets and most restaurants is impossible. And the hotel booze prices are eye-watering.
Poor immigrant workers, and the 350,000 native Qataris forbidden from drinking under strict Islamic laws, can only consume the 0 per cent beer — or resort to illegal bootleg liquor.
It is often sold in industrial zones for £3 a litre but can contain butanol and pentanol, two industrial alcohols known to cause brain and eye damage.
But worker Faisal Ansari, 22, originally from Nepal, said: “The work is good. I have been here for two years and I will be supporting Qatar during the World Cup.”

The England squad, given an easy-looking draw on Friday for the group stage, are due to stay at Qatar’s alcohol-free Souq Al Wakra hotel — at the end of a maze of winding, narrow roads, next to a huge mosque.
They will train at a nearby stadium but there are concerns the lack of activities at the hotel, which does not even boast a swimming pool, will leave the players feeling restless and bored.

ENGLAND supporters hoping to fly to Qatar are being warned they will be allowed into the country only if they have match tickets.
Three Lions fans and, hopefully, Wales’ or Scotland’s depending on the play-offs, are planning their trips after Friday’s draw.
But Qatari government officials have said they must have tickets and official Fifa IDs — dashing the hopes of thousands planning on buying them after arriving.
Sources said Qatar, with a population of fewer than three million, was bringing in the policy because it did not have the accommodation capacity for ticketless fans.

A TEENAGER who racially abused Marcus Rashford over his Euro 2020 final penalty miss has been jailed for six weeks.Justin Lee Price, 19, sent the England star, 24, the offensive message targeting his skin colour.

Price watched the shoot-out loss to Italy in the bedroom of his family home.
He changed his Twitter username to avoid detection after the tweet was reported and initially denied posting the online message when questioned by police.
But the teen later admitted it to officers during a second interview.

Neighbour Maureen Bye, 81, said: “It was dreadful. All you could hear was the ‘boom, boom, boom’ of the music. I don’t mind a party but not all day.
“It started about midday or 1pm and lasted till just before ten. One of our neighbours went to complain and was told, ‘It’s not late and it’s not loud’, and then she was ushered away.”
Other residents complained about the event on a community Facebook page.
Charlotte Muncaster said: “Thinking of all my neighbours tonight — Happy Mother’s Day. I have been and asked for the music to be turned down. Don’t get your hopes up.”
Seline Waters added: “Sounds like we are next to a festival. This weekend has been ruined for many and there will be far too many tired children today struggling to wake for school.

Derby North MP Amanda Solloway also welcomed the interest from Clooney.
She said “This situation has been going on for far too long and it would be brilliant if George Clooney who loves football and has a passion was to buy it.

“I’m really committed to seeing the current problems come to an end. Derby fans have a strong passion for Derby and George is right when he says that Derbyshire is a wonderful county.
“Like all fans, I am holding on for when a preferred bidder can be announced and our much loved club will be saved.”
Clooney said he became a fan after working with Brit actor Jack O’Connell, 31, on the 2016 film Money Monster.
He said: “I have worked with quite a few British football fans and their moods were often dependent on how well their favourite soccer team had performed in their latest game.
“I found it quite curious and wanted to know what made that happen. Nobody wants to see their team lose but it seemed that British football fans were much more involved in the importance of the result.
“I was introduced to the Rams by Jack O’Connell a few years ago when we were making a movie together. He was so passionate about his team and has followed Derby County all his life.
“I asked him a few questions and there was no stopping him – he really loves the club and knows so much about it. I had to admire that and listening to the club’s history was quite intriguing and fired my imagination.
“I watched a few games on TV and gradually I began to understand soccer better and began to look out for Derby County’s games and results. I have been watching ever since.”
“Derbyshire is a very beautiful place. I have been and admired the whole area, nice people too.
“I think that most of them also like the soccer team and when Derby one day get back into the Premier League it will make a lot of people very happy – including me.
“It will be nice to see people, as they are now, proud to go to Pride Park.”
Clooney, who lives with barrister wife Amal in Sonning, Berks, also spoke of his hope that Derby can return to the Premier League which they were relegated from in 2008 – without a single win.
The star, who made his breakthrough in From Dusk Till Dawn said that the passion of Brit footy fans trumps that of US soccer lovers.
He said: “I love the passion of sport. In the States there is a great following for all sports, whether that be [American] football, baseball, ice hockey or anything else.
“The crowds are big and make a lot of noise but the passion of British soccer fans takes loyalty to a club onto a higher level. I think, in part, that is what made me start to take notice of soccer.”
‘I LOVE THE PASSION’
Clooney’s interest in the club has given new hope to Derby fans who are struggling to stay upbeat about the future of the side.
Supporter Nicola Allen, 39, said the idea of Clooney owning the club was “absolutely amazing”.
The marketing executive and mum-of-two said: “Clooney and Rooney would be the perfect combination.
“George Clooney would be the dream owner. I’m buzzing with excitement at the thought of this happening. It’s absolutely amazing.
“The situation with the club at the moment is dire. It’s a massive worry. Everyone across the city is very fearful for the future. Anything he could do to help would be great. It’d be a lifeline.
Thomas Ludman, 28, said Clooney as owner would be “sensational”.
The engineer, who lives in the city, said: “That’s just what we need. It would be great. We’re in an absolute mess at the moment and it doesn’t feel like there’s a way out.
“I really hope he goes for it. We need a miracle and that’s what he would be. It would be incredible. He’d bring in so much to the club, not just the money. A real Hollywood legend.”
Matthew Porter, 32, said Clooney’s comments left him “stunned”.
The officer manager said: “I’m speechless. I had no idea he had such a passion for football and knew the county so well. It’s unbelievable. But it’s also absolutely terrific. I’m gobsmacked.
“It’s great he recognises our proud history. We’re in real danger and need a lifeline.”

CLOONEY would be the latest superstar fan to take a stake in their favourite team.
Hollywood pair Ryan Reynolds, 45, and Rob McElhenney, 44, bought National League Wrexham in 2020.
