    Details of the upcoming White Paper were given a B-plus by Niall Couper of the football reform group Fair Game.
    The Man Utd Supporters Trust said: “On the face of it, the details of the leaked White Paper on Football Regulation look positive.”
    Football Supporters’ Association boss Kevin Miles said: “Many of our ideas are included — stronger tests on potential club owners, more supporter engagement, blocks on breakaway competitions like the European Super League and the establishment of an independent regulator.”
    Tory MP Tracey Crouch, who conducted the review, said a regulator would be a “very good outcome for football fans”.

    But critics fear it may risk the Premier League’s spot in football’s pecking order.
    Economist Len Shakleton, author of the report Red Card, said: “Regulating an industry imposes compliance costs and disincentives to investment and innovation.”

    Fans came out to pay their respects to David, who died aged 86 last month after a short illness with daughters Jacqueline and Vanessa and fiancée Lesley at his side. 
    Vanessa and Jacqueline shared a video of bubbles floating around the London Stadium, echoing the club’s official song – ‘Forever Blowing Bubbles’.
    In a card on the coffin Lesley wrote: “May you fly round the universe, win all your football matches.
    “Succeed in your endeavours, hit a hole in one each day and meet those whom you have loved and have gone before you.”

    The eight-mile funeral procession started and finished at the club’s London Stadium — where a private celebration of David’s life was held.
    Past and present West Ham players attended. These included Andy Carrol and defender James Collins.
    Hammers co-chairman David Sullivan said: “David had a long-standing connection with the Hammers, having grown up opposite the Boleyn Ground in Green Street, and represented the club at junior level.
    “He always wanted what was best for West Ham United, and his passing is a great loss for all of us.”

    But governing body the FIA amended its rules this season to forbid any display of “political, religious and personal statements” that are made “without prior approval”.
    Alfa Romeo driver Valtteri Bottas says the crackdown is wrong.
    He said: “Personally, I don’t like politics. I like to do what I love, which is racing, but politics is at the same time part of today’s society.
    “I think Formula 1 has done a good job of paying attention to some of these kinds of issues and many drivers have raised their voices, including Sebastian.”

    “I do not understand why they want to control us. I think we should have the right to talk about what we want. That is how I see it, but we will see what happens.”
    A human rights group has called the new rule “seriously disturbing”.

    After The Sun revealed the clip yesterday, the Ukrainian, 22, issued an apology. However, officials may now write to him, asking for a formal explanation for his actions.
    The FA launched a crackdown on racist social media content two years ago — punishable by up to a three-match ban.
    But Mudryk will almost certainly escape any such penalty.
    Instead, he is likely be formally reminded of his responsibilities.

    The winger’s 40-second clip was viewed 244,000 times on TikTok alone.
    His representatives later said: “Mykhailo is deeply sorry for any offence caused by the video posted on his TikTok account last July.
    “Whilst his intention was solely to recite lyrics of a song, Mykhailo regrets his decision and wholeheartedly accepts it was not appropriate”

    Sources close to the Ukrainian winger, insist he was just trying to recite lyrics from US rapper Lil Baby’s 2017 hit Freestyle.

    But fans and campaigners blasted the Ukrainian winger, 22, for using the language in the TikTok clip “irrespective of context”.
    Mudryk’s representative told The Sun: “Mykhailo is deeply sorry for any offence caused by the video posted on his TikTok account last July.

    Leading football anti-racism group Kick It Out blasted: “Kick It Out condemns the use of all racial slurs, including the N-word irrespective of context.
    “The N-word is deeply offensive and the use of this term by high-profile figures in football can only serve to alienate people from the game.

    “It is important that footballers use their significant platform in a positive way, and we’re encouraged to see that Mykhailo Mudryk has acknowledged the hurt caused by his use of this offensive slur.”
    Mudryk made his mega-money move to the Blues this month from Shakhtar Donetsk in his war-torn homeland.
    But last July, he appeared alongside a pal in front of an Audi sports car for the 40-second TikTok clip.
    With hands on their chests, the pair are seen repeating a line from Lil Baby’s 2017 hit Freestyle.
    The full track, lasting two minutes and 43 seconds, features the N-word 16 times.
    Black artists have blasted people of white heritage for using the term in the past.

    Singer Kendrick Lamar declared in 2018: “I’ve been on this earth for 30 years and there’ve been so many things a Caucasian person said I couldn’t do.”
    He added: “So if I say this is my word, let me have this one word, please let me have that word.”
    Grime artist Yizzy has said: “If you use the word . . . and you’re not of any black heritage, in this modern day world, be prepared to face a backlash.”
    And Public Enemy rapper Chuck D has called for all artists to stop using the N-word in their music, highlighting “double standards” in the industry.

    One property firm has paid £136million for 56 acres at an industrial estate on the back of the celebrity duo’s takeover in February 2021.
    Tim Knowles, founder and managing director of FI Real Estate Management, which bought the land, said the two actors had created a real buzz in the North Wales city.

    He added: “There’s never been a more exciting time to be in Wrexham than 2023.
    “When our peers were looking towards the big cities in the South for development opportunities, we kept our focus on Wrexham.”

    Reynolds, 46, and McElhenney, 45, have also been thanked for record sales at a local boozer after buying the National League club, who were denied a historic FA Cup fourth round shock on Sunday when a late equaliser by Championship side Sheffield United pegged them back to 3-3.
    The pair have drunk in The Turf, next to the club’s Racecourse Ground, several times — and the pub is featured in their Disney+ series Welcome To Wrexham.
    Turf landlord Wayne Jones, 40, said the show had sent thirsty tourists flocking to his bar — with the past three months the busiest he has known in 14 years.
    He added: “Wrexham as an economy was going through a bit of a rough time.
