This year it is set to take place on Saturday, June 3 – the same day as the FA Cup final.
With ITV going up against the BBC, who also hold rights to the FA Cup final, they reckon that showing the Derby immediately beforehand could help retain viewers for the football.

She shot onto the national scene during England’s 2018 World Cup warm-up clash against Costa Rica.
The Cheshire native, who now works for MOTDx and Premier Sports, began her broadcasting career in local radio but is now a star on the big screen and has amassed over 385,000 followers on Instagram through her work.

Holding her top together while sat in her car, Emma shared a video clip where she explained: “I’ve just finished a shoot at Leicester City’s training ground and my bloody jump suit’s broken.
“No word of a lie, from the top all the way down. I’ve had to walk through the training ground all the way to my car clinging on for dear life.

Emma, who has admitted her breasts are so big they BEEP her car horn, then provided another update, saying: “Right, I’m feeling a little more optimistic about my journey home.
“The only thing that is bringing me a little bit of anxiety is if a lorry or a bus or something drives past me or pulls up next to me, will they be able to see right the way in as I’m exposed below the belly button.
“So, if you drive something big or tall, can you let me know how much you can see in so I know please.
“Do you ever feel like things just happen to you as I feel like things just happen to me. It was always going to be me whose jump suit broke the first time I wore it at Leicester City’s training ground.

Fans claim Pep Guardiola is trying to turn Haaland into Weghorst after seeing bizarre Man City line-up from BBC

FANS worried Pep Guardiola was trying to turn Erling Haaland into Wout Weghorst after seeing the BBC version of Manchester City’s formation against Bayern Munich.Goal machine Haaland was shown next to John Stones amid four players behind sole attacker Bernardo Silva for Tuesday’s Champions League quarter-final first leg.

Loan frontman Wout Weghorst has often been used behind the main striking position by Man Utd boss Erik ten HagCredit: Reuters

In the event, the Norwegian poacher did of course feature at the front of City’s attack.
But even he must have been open-mouthed in admiration at the way Rodri swerved a stunning opener on 27 minutes – his first ever goal in Europe’s top club competition.
Online observers, however, were bewildered by Haaland’s tactical role, based on the Beeb’s graphics, which suggested he might play a deeper role like Manchester United’s under-fire Weghorst.
One fan said: “#Pep seen #Weghorst playing in the hole and thinks I can’t be outdone by Sir #TenHag – I know let’s try #Haaland and #Stones as a centre midfield pairing with license to go forwards protected by #Rodri and #Ilkay.”

Another posted: “What is BBC cooking!? Gündogan DM, Haaland and Stones as number 10s and Bernardo Silva as a number 9.”
A third wrote: “Has BBC Sport got this right? I know Stones has been playing more advanced lately, but next to Haaland with Silva as lone striker?”
And a fourth stated: “BBC Sport reckon Stones and Haaland are playing midfield just in behind Bernardo Silva tonight.”
Etihad chief Guardiola has shaken his tactics up in recent months.

One fan spotted the BBC’s lineup
The main difference is England centre-back Stones generally playing as one of two holding midfielders in front of a three-man defence.
But he can drop to right-back to make a rearguard of four players when City are on the defensive.
In front of the banks of three and two come four more creative midfielders, chiefly Bernardo Silva, stylist Kevin De Bruyne and bang-in-form Jack Grealish.
That leaves Haaland in the position no-one doubts he’s best at – centre-forward.
But it was Rodri’s long-range breakthrough that ignited fans most on social media.
One said: “There’s no stopping those!” and another raved: “What a goal!” More

Notts County Rewrites the ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ Story

Notts County is having one of the most remarkable seasons in its long history. It might even win the league. But you don’t get to star in someone else’s drama.NOTTINGHAM, England — The irony of it all, really, is that Notts County would make a terrific subject for a documentary. The elevator pitch is simple. After more than a decade of financial strife and rolling existential crises — featuring both a convicted fraudster and fictional Gulf investment — the oldest professional soccer club in the world puts together a record-shattering campaign, one that promises to restore the team to something close to its former glory. The casting is rich and compelling. There is a fallen Premier League prodigy searching for a home, a virtuoso Portuguese playmaker who has never seen an opponent he cannot nutmeg, and a 26-year-old striker experiencing such an absurd hot streak that he was, at one point, being compared to Erling Haaland. Tasked with shaping them into a team is a manager whose adventurous, accomplished approach is still just a little unorthodox in the mud-spattered lower reaches of English professional soccer. But the results are spectacular. In a division that is competitive to the point of arbitrary, the team loses only twice all season. It has scored more than 100 goals, and it’s on course to break the league’s points record with four games left. It might yet win the title. Plenty of shows have been commissioned on less. That is the story of Notts County’s season, but that does not mean it is the story that will be told. Millions of viewers will, in all likelihood, come to think of the club as an antagonist: an obstacle to be overcome, a threat to be parried, a challenge to be met. And that means one of the most remarkable campaigns in Notts County’s long and occasionally illustrious history will be relegated to a supporting role in someone else’s story.Notts County will enter Monday’s game tied with Wrexham on points. But only one of them can win the league.Mary Turner for The New York TimesTwo Teams, One NarrativeA few weeks ago, the producers of “Welcome to Wrexham” — the FX documentary following the takeover and attempted revival of the Welsh town’s forlorn soccer team by the actors and entrepreneurs Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney — made contact with executives at Notts County. Out of courtesy, they said, they wanted to establish how much the club wanted to feature in the show’s second season. It is hard to see how Notts County will not play a prominent role. For months, it and Wrexham have been locked in a breathless race to escape the National League, the fifth tier of English soccer. There is only one automatic promotion slot available — bringing with it a guaranteed return to the ranks of the Football League — and neither side has blinked in its pursuit of it.The pace has been eye-watering. Both are expected to end the season with more points than the division has ever seen. Their nearest rival is 25 points adrift. Each has fed off the other’s refusal to wilt. “We’ve been pushing each other,” said Connell Rawlinson, the Notts County captain. (He was born in Wrexham, and still lives close by: add that to the list of subplots.) “If Wrexham didn’t have us and we didn’t have them, would either of us be as good as we are?”Strictly speaking, Wrexham has long had the edge. Its squad is deeper, and more expensive. It has an extra game to play, as well as the home-field advantage when it meets Notts County on Monday evening, a match with the air of a ready-made season finale. In public, Notts County’s manager, Luke Williams, has done what he can to prepare the club — the fans, the executives, his players — for disappointment. “It’s not that we’re not clear,” he said after watching his side pick apart yet another opponent in late March. “It’s that we’re not even close. We need a two-loss swing.” One of those defeats duly arrived on Friday — Wrexham lost at Halifax — but it still held that crucial game in hand.In private, Williams acknowledges that the prospect of being forced to go through the National League’s somewhat arcane and distinctly treacherous playoff system in search of a second chance at promotion “haunts” him. “I haven’t slept since Christmas,” he said.Mary Turner for The New York TimesNotts County, founded in 1862, is the oldest professional soccer club in the world. Mary Turner for The New York TimesThe players have reacted slightly differently. “I’d rather be part of doing something like this, having that pressure and that stress, than sitting in mid-table with nothing to compete for,” Rawlinson said. “I’m sure the Wrexham team and the fans are enjoying it, too.” He paused, at that point, and thought about the truth of that statement. “Well, maybe not the fans, so much.”That graciousness is fairly typical of relations between the clubs. Given the intensity of their title race — and the stakes involved — it might be expected for a sporting rivalry to metastasize into an outright hostility, particularly given the advantages at Wrexham’s disposal. It is the Welsh club, after all, that can call on TikTok and Expedia as sponsors, and McElhenney, Reynolds and his wife, Blake Lively, as regular guests. Notts County’s stardust extends no further than the singer Jake Bugg, born in Nottingham, who sponsors the club’s away jerseys. That financial primacy has a real-world impact. When Wrexham was short of a goalkeeper, it coaxed Ben Foster, a former England international, out of retirement. Notts County had to recall a 19-year-old from a loan at a club two divisions below. For the most part, though, there is no sense of outrage or oppression. Instead, Rawlinson, said, there is a recognition that both teams are “steeped in history, and that neither club should be where they are.”“The publicity Wrexham has brought has been great for the division as a whole,” he said. “There are a lot of eyes on these games now.”There will be far more, though, who encounter them not as contemporaneous sporting events but as something else: a small part of a broader narrative, one that is packaged and polished and consumed on a delay of several months, once the conclusion is known.“I was coming out of a game a few weeks ago, when we’d just got to 97 points,” said Tom Wagstaff, a founder of the Notts County Talk YouTube channel. “As annoying as it is that we’re not clear at the top, it is incredible to be involved in something like this. I genuinely think it’s the best title race the league has ever seen. But I don’t know if that is how it will be perceived.”“The publicity Wrexham has brought has been great for the division as a whole,” Notts County’s captain said. “There are a lot of eyes on these games now.”Mary Turner for The New York TimesEnd GameThe framing, after all, is not in Notts County’s hands. The act of making television, after all, involves not simply telling a story but choosing which aspects of that story should be accentuated. Documentaries necessarily have a perspective. And that perspective changes the way a story is not only told, but understood.Nobody in Nottingham is particularly worried that “Welcome to Wrexham” will cast Notts County as the bad guys, the villains of the story of this season. Nobody at the club seems especially offended at the idea that the show might present the team backed by Hollywood money as in some way “plucky.”But they know that, however the season ends, far more people will watch the documentary than follow the National League in real time. For those viewers, Notts County’s story will not be a stand-alone achievement, a thing that happened in its own right and with its own meaning, but rather something that exists solely as it pertains to its effect on Wrexham. Its meaning will be contorted and confused and to some extent lost. It will not be consumed as sport at all, not really. It will just be part of the plot.In that, perhaps, there is a solace. “Really, we’ve done them a favor,” said George Vizard, Wagstaff’s co-presenter on YouTube. “If it wasn’t for us, they’d have won it weeks ago. And for the show, it must be better to win it like this than it would be if they had won it at a canter.” The story will, in the end, be about Wrexham. But it will be thanks to Notts County that there is now a much better story to tell. More

Fuming Kell Brook breaks silence as Amir Khan is BANNED after testing positive for illegal substance

KELL BROOK has raged at Amir Khan for his “disgusting” positive drugs test.Khan, 36, who retired after losing to Brook by stoppage last year, has been handed a two-year doping ban after the banned substance ostarine was found in his system following the loss.

And Brook, 36, did not pull any punches in his assessment of his long-time rival.
Speaking to iFL TV, he said: “I heard about it today, when everyone else heard.
“I’m disgusted, it’s been over a year since we boxed, it makes me feel sick.
“I’ve got three beautiful kids. He’s gone in there to try and hurt me. It’s a f***ing joke.”

Khan has claimed ingestion of the banned substance was not intentional.
Ostarine is a drug designed to have similar effects to testosterone, used by athletes and bodybuilders to boost muscle mass and performance.
However, it has also been used to treat muscle-wasting diseases and osteoporosis.
The result of Khan’s fight against Brook has now been wiped out.

His ban has been backdated to start immediately after the 2022 fight and will run until April 2024.
Khan has broken his silence on the matter, telling Sky Sports: “I’ve never cheated.
“I’m a retired fighter… you can see by my performance. My performance against Kell Brook wasn’t the best.
“I lost the fight… if I’d gone in and knocked him out if would be different.
“I’ve never cheated in my life… I was the one who wanted testing on the fight.
“The amount that was in my system could have been from shaking hands.”
Khan continued: “I didn’t know what the drug was in my system.
“I’ve never cheated in my life… I’d never cheat.
“Like I said, I am a retired fighter. I’ve got a two-year ban now which is quite strange and funny that they’ve banned me… I’m already retired anyway.”
On a potential return to the ring, Khan added: “[I’ve got] no comeback plans at all.
“But, like I said, I’ve never cheated and never will. That’s just not something I would do.”
UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) earlier confirmed the news in a statement.
It read: “Professional boxer and Olympic medallist Amir Khan has been banned from all sport for two years following Anti-Doping Rule Violations (ADRVs) for the presence and use of a Prohibited Substance.
“On 19 February 2022, UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) collected an In-Competition urine Sample from Mr Khan after his fight against Kell Brook at the Manchester Arena.
“Mr Khan’s Sample returned an Adverse Analytical Finding (AAF) for ostarine.
“UKAD notified Mr Khan of the AAF on 6 April 2022 and that he may have committed ADRVs under the 2021 UK Anti-Doping Rules (ADR).
“UKAD issued him with a Provisional Suspension from all Code-compliant sport on the same date.
“On 20 July 2022, UKAD charged Mr Khan with the commission of two ADRVs: Presence of a Prohibited Substance and Use of a Prohibited Substance.
“Mr Khan accepted the violations charged but maintained that his ingestion of ostarine was not ‘intentional’.”
UKAD went on to reveal the case was referred to the National Anti-Doping Panel – with the charges upheld.
The statement continued: “As a consequence his case was referred to the National Anti-Doping Panel to be considered by an independent tribunal.
“Mr Khan’s case was heard by the independent tribunal on 24 January 2023 and in its written decision dated 21 February 2023, the panel found both violations proved, concluded that Mr Khan had established that they were not ‘intentional’ within the meaning of ADR Article 10.2.3 and imposed a two-year ban on him.
“The panel also disqualified Mr Khan’s result from the bout against Mr Brook.
“Mr Khan’s two-year ban is deemed to have commenced on 6 April 2022 (the date his Provisional Suspension was imposed) and will expire on 5 April 2024.”
In the weeks leading up to the Brook fight, Khan revealed he was yet to be drug-tested and that he was chasing officials to get it done.
He called the whole experience “a bit strange” as he was desperate for a “fair fight”.
Khan retired in 2022 with a record of 34-6 following defeat to Brook, bringing down the curtain on an illustrious career.

But that issue was resolved after a fan backlash over the Beeb’s decision to axe the presenter.
Upon reaching a deal, BBC Director General Tim Davie said: “Gary is a valued part of the BBC and I know how much the BBC means to Gary, and I look forward to him presenting our coverage this coming weekend.”
And that agreement may leave some even more surprised that he is not presenting this evening’s show.

Why was Gary Lineker suspended before?
Gary Lineker was suspended because the BBC ruled that a tweet he posted about Home Secretary Suella Braverman broke impartiality rules.
He responded to a video of her setting out the Government’s Migration Bill, labelling the language being used similar to 1930s Germany.
Lineker tweeted: “This is just an immeasurably cruel policy directed at the most vulnerable people in language that is not dissimilar to that used by Germany in the ’30s, and I’m out of order?”
However, the BBC agreed to review its social media guidelines for presenters who aren’t covering current affairs.
And they allowed Lineker to return to air so long as he agrees to follow the current rules while the new ones are being drawn up. More

Lineker criticised the Government’s treatment of refugees and likened Home Secretary Suella Braverman’s language to that used in 1930s Germany.
But he reassured viewers that he has not been suspended again, and is simply on holiday.
Taking to Twitter, Lineker wrote: “Just so there’s no misunderstanding, I won’t be doing @BBCMOTD tonight.

Following his previous suspension, Lineker’s BBC Sport colleagues rallied around him and refused to participate in broadcasts until his reinstatement.
The 62-year-old returned for the Beeb’s FA Cup coverage the following weekend, before having to miss another broadcast due to being unwell.
Earlier this week, Lineker won a £4.9million tax battle.
HMRC had claimed he should have been classed as an employee of the BBC and BT Sport for presenting duties, rather than as a freelancer.

The taxman pursued him for £4.9million it said was owed on his income between 2013 and 2018.
But Lineker insisted all taxes were paid on the income via a partnership set up in 2012 with then-wife Danielle Bux.
Legislation called IR35 tackles tax avoidance by so-called disguised employees, who charge for services via limited firms.
But tribunal judge John Brooks found that because Lineker had direct contracts with both the BBC and BT Sport, IR35 did not apply in this case. More
