Terence Crawford vs Kell Brook LIVE RESULTS: American WINS after dramatic fourth-round stoppage – latest reaction

TERENCE CRAWFORD stopped Kell Brook in devastating fashion in the fourth round in Las Vegas.
The WBO welterweight king Crawford retained his title over Sheffield star Brook, who started well at the MGM Grand before Bud turned it up a notch to hold onto his crown.

Follow ALL of the latest reaction below…

    KELL OF A FIGHT
Kell Brook was leading the fight against Terence Crawford before the brutal round four finish.
The judges ringside scorecards in Las Vegas revealed two had Brook ahead after three rounds.
They scored Brook taking the first two sessions but conceding the third.
The other judge awarded the 34-year-old Brit the opening stanza but had Crawford taking the following two.
In the end it mattered little, as Brook’s early success was canceled out as he was finished on his feet.

    ER WHAT?
Errol Spence Jr appeared to find Bob Arum’s comments on his amusing.
The veteran promoter said Terence Crawford would stop him in the same time he did against Kell Brook and predicted the unified champ would avoid the unifciatio bout.
Arum said: “Spence and Garcia are fighting on December 5.
“If they really want a big PPV I’ll put Crawford in with both of them on the same night and he beats both.
“The welterweights around now are not competitive with Crawford.”
“Errol Spence will try to avoid Crawford for as long as he can.
    “You saw the performance tonight.
“He’ll take out Spence in the same number of rounds as he did Kell Brook.”
Spence responded with a laughing emoji.

    BOXING FWIENDS
Crawford and Brook embrace after their welterweight world title fight.
Brook was stopped in round four but gave WBO champ Crawford some trouble in the early stages.

    REPORT
Terence Crawford knocked out Kell Brook in round four to retain his WBO welterweight world title.
The American pound-for-pound star – returning after a year out – started slow in Las Vegas’ empty MGM Grand.

But in round four, after a counter right hand, Brook was sent rocking back and handed a standing count.
Despite fighting on, lethal finisher Crawford swarmed the challenger with a barrage of shots causing the fight to be stopped.
After his 37th career win, he said: “I was trying to gauge the distance. He had good distance.
“I was trying to find my rhythm in between getting my distance together. That’s why it was so competitive at first. I couldn’t get my shots off.
“Kell is a tremendous talent. He came and he tried to take my title. He was in shape.
“He made the weight. There were no excuses to be put on the table. He came off of three wins.
“He lost to the better man.”
Brook, fighting at welterweight for the first time since 2017, made a bright start and bossed the first two rounds with an expertly timed jab.

He even threatened with straight right hands, as Crawford went in the southpaw stance to change up his game plan.
By round three, the 33-year-old champion began to find his range and rhythm better, but Brook’s jab was still causing him a problem.
The fight then suddenly turned on its head a minute into the fourth as Crawford landed a perfectly timed right hand in the southpaw stance.
Brook, 34, was sent reeling backwards and took punishment on the ropes before a standing eight-count was called.
He was given the chance to fight on but was still dazed as Crawford – who came into the fight with a 75 per cent finish rate – sensed blood.
The Nebraskan landed another right hook over the top and after a string of left hands, Brook was saved by the referee.

    CRAWFORD WANTS PACMAN
Promoter Bob Arum said: “It was set to take place in the Middle East before the minister of health stopped it.
“But we’re [now] in talks want do it in the Middle East before or after Ramadan.”

    CRAWFORD WANTS PACMAN
After beating Brook, Crawford called out Manny Pacquiao.
He said: “I already said who I want. I want Pacquiao. I want to revisit that fight.
“That was a fight that should’ve happened right now. But being that the pandemic happened, and they weren’t going to allow fans in the Middle East, they had to put a hold to that.
“Everything was 95 percent done. We had the venue. The money was almost there. It wasn’t quite there. That was the only thing we were waiting on.”

    CRAWFORD STOPPAGE
Crawford said: “I was trying to gauge the distance. He had good distance. I was trying to find my distance and it was so competitive at first.”
“I stepped forward more, threw more punches and caught him some times.”

    CRAWFORD STOPPAGE
Brook said: “This is boxing. I got caught with shot I didn’t see.
“The referee waved it off and that’s never happened to me before.
“I’d rather lose out my shield. The better man won.”

    CRAWFORD STOPPAGE
Brook was caught with a massive right hand and rocked backwards.
Crawford then swarmed the challenger on the ropes as the ref called a standing count.
As Brook carried on after the count, Crawford landed another right hook and after two left hands the ref stopped the action.

    ROUND FOUR
Big right hand lands for Crawford and Brook is given a standing count!
Crawford pours on the pressure and Brook is stopped on his feet!
Explosive stoppage in round four for Crawford – who retains his title.

    ROUND THREE
Crawford pumping out a southpaw jab which Brook is now struggling to land.
Brook landing the right hand nicely in another good round.
Crawford seems slightly edgy and is yet to really commit to an attack.

    ROUND TWO
Brook lands a right hand over the top but Crawford responds with a body shot.
Sharp right hand counter lands for Crawford who is finding his range better now.
Crawford ends the round as a southpaw with Brook again landing the more.

    ROUND TWO
Really patient start from Brook who is landing some good jabs and throwing off Crawford’s timing.

    ROUND ONE
Here we go! At last the first bell has sounded…
Cagey opener with not a single punch thrown for the first 40 seconds until Brook shot out a jab.
Crawford comes out as an orthodox fighter and looks to be patient.

    ONE MORE STEP
Introductions completed, next up the first bell.
Looks like a lively atmosphere in the MGM Grand, Top Rank ‘bubble’.

    ALMOST THERE
Both boxers in the ring now and we’re getting closer.
Just the introductions left to go.

    HERE COMES BUD
Crawford now walking out to the ring.
This will be the fourth defence of his WBO welterweight title.

    HERE COMES KELL
Brook walks out to his familiar ‘All of The Lights’ Kanye West walk out tune.
But he will be led into battle without lifelong trainer Brendan Ingle – after the pair parted ways before the fight.
Brook also is without the backing of his usual promoter Eddie Hearn.

    MAIN EVENT
Right, national anthems are done, ring walks next.
Feels like we’ve been here for a while…

    UP NEXT
Moments away from the fight with Brook set to walk out first.

    UP NEXT
Finally, we are set for the main-event next!
Crawford defends his welterweight and P4P crown against underdog Brook.

    DECISON IN
After 26 long minutes Franco retains his belt with officials declaring the swollen eye came from a clash of heads.

    KELL OF A WAIT
With a decision on Maloney and Franco STILL yet to be reached – Brook is like the rest of us.
The Brit is just patiently waiting ahead of his WBO welterweight title challenge.

    EYE EYE EYE
Here is Franco’s swollen eye which forced the fight to be halted.
Officials are STILL trying to determine whether it was from a blow or accidental clash of heads.
Maloney will win by technical stoppage if it is deemed a blow, but a headbutt verdict will end the fight as a technical draw.

    PATIENTLY WAITING
No decision has been made as of yet to declare whether it is an accidental clash of heads or a punch which caused the damage.
In the meantime, Bud Crawford is warming up for his headliner against Brook.

Thanderz lands to the body to close out the round.

Here’s a shot of the action.

    CANNON BALL!
Brave Brit Rachel Ball gets the scorecards to go to 7-1 and race toward a world title shot.
The judges saw it: 99-91 twice and 99-92 all for the Brit.

    ROUND TEN
Guanini needs to steam out and score a knockdown here.
Both women ping out straight shots and whipped hooks.
Ball is making her height and reach count though.
Guanini is definitely the more experienced and natural boxer but Ball looks a problem for any woman between bantam and feather.
It ends with Ball complaining about Guanini running away!

    ROUND NINE
Ball has a bit of a swelling around her right eye but nothing serious.
There’s a flurry of leather as this session gets off to a flyer.
Guanini uses the ropes to springboard herself into a left hook that lands on Ball’s jaw.
The Argentina ace is coasting with her hands down now but she’s not scoring any shots.

    ROUND EIGHT
Rachel Ball just complained to the referee that Guanini is wearing a vapour rub, which can be used to smear into a rival’s eyes.
Guanini does not seem to be penalised and the fight continues.
Ball is on the front foot and a left look on the ropes lands but Guanini rides the storm again, oozing experience.
Guanini dropped her gloves for the final few seconds of the session, urging Ball on so she could counter. But the Brit refused to take the bait.

    ROUND SEVEN
Ball keeps stalking and pressing and scything shots in but Guanini is a tough little woman.
Both women unleash volleys but both chins survive.

    FRENCH FANCY
Here’s the only goal of the night, courtesy of Kante.

    ALL IN A NIGHT’S WORK
Despite falling out of favour at Manchester United, Pogba is very much a consistent figure in the French squad.
Tonight he had 94 touches, had an 88 per cent passing accuracy, won three tackles, got one interception and had a shot on target.

    ROUND UP OF RESULTS
    Portugal 0-1 France
    Germany 3-1 Ukraine

    SO NEAR YET SO FAR

    SA-CRIS BLEU
Moutinho and Ronaldo came close to scoring but it wasn’t their night.
France will now go through to the finals no matter what happens in next week’s final matches.

    KANTE STOP HIM
In what was just his second international goal, Kante helped France to the top spot in their group.

    TABLE TOPPERS
Portugal have suffered a rare defeat thanks to Kante’s goal.
Patricio did well to stop several chances, particularly from Martial, but it was his error that gifted France the only goal of the evening.
    France now top the group.

    PORTUGAL 0-1 FRANCE
    87. PEN APPEALS FROM PORTUGAL
Trincao is caught by Hernandez on the byline in the French box, but instead of going to ground he holds onto the ball and has a shot from a tight angle.

    It’s out for a corner.

    PORTUGAL 0-1 FRANCE

    81. Hernandez is booked for a lunging tackle on Jota.
He waves away the ref as he shows the yellow.

    PORTUGAL 0-1 FRANCE
    80. Freekick to France on the left, about 30 yards out.
Griezmann tries to curl it in, but can’t beat the first man.

    PORTUGAL 0-1 FRANCE
    79. Giroud seems to be limping a little as he walks off a heavy tackle from Cancelo

    PORTUGAL 0-1 FRANCE
    78. Substitution for France; Martial is replaced by Giroud.

    PORTUGAL 0-1 FRANCE
    76. Brave defending by Kimpembe as he flies at the ball to stop Ronaldo’s diving header!

The Mercedes drivers both struggled in the terrible conditions and Lewis Hamilton will start sixth on the grid after an action-packed qualifying session.
TV/Live stream: Sky Sports F1/NOW TV
Grid positions: 1st Stroll 2nd Verstappen 3rd Perez 4th Albon

Follow ALL of the latest updates below…

    TURKISH DELIGHT

    F1 QUALIFYING RESULTS

    STROLL IN THE PARK

    MERCEDES PRAISE

You won’t hear any excuses or clever quotes from us today.
We were absolutely nowhere near pole.
    Today belongs to @RacingPointF1 and @lance_stroll 👏👏👏
We’ll be down with a bottle of champagne later. You guys deserve it!
    — Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team (@MercedesAMGF1) November 14, 2020

    MAX POWER
Max Verstappen has spoken of his disappointment at missing out on pole.
He said: “Already in Q1 when we tried to go out on the inters we had no grip.
“The track was a lot better in Q3 but for us the inters were horrible.
“The extreme tyres were good and was very comfortable. Not good.
“I’m a bit disappointed, of course. In the race tomorrow we can do well but when you’re first all the time and then you come second it’s not what you want.”

    MORE FROM STROLL
“I’m shocked. We didn’t look to competitive in final practice but I’m so happy right now, I really put that lap together at the end, I only had one lap to do it on the inters.
“I had the confidence in the car and I just nailed pretty much every corner, pieced it together nicely and such a nice way to bounce back after a few tough weeks.
“To put it on pole is a special moment for me, one of the biggest of my career.”

    STROLL SPEAKS
On pole for the first time, you can see the beaming smile even behind the face mask.
“I can’t really put it into words right now, I’m shocked!
“It’s one of the biggest highlights of my career for sure, we dream about these moments growing up and it’s pretty special!”

    SHOCK GRID
What a qualifying session – if the race tomorrow is half as good, we’re in for a treat.

    SOME RESULT FOR STROLL
He has been under fire of late for some poor results, but he pulled that out of the bag.

    AND NOW STROLL
Unbelievable finish as Stroll takes pole position.
    Max Verstappen is in P2.
    Perez in P3.
Hamilton is down in 6th place – Bottas in P9.

PEREZ IS LOOKING GOOD FOR POLE HERE
But Hamilton is down in 8th

    THREE MINUTES TO GO
It is Perez, Verstappen, Raikkonen, Stroll, Ricciardo, Bottas, Albon, Hamilton, Giovinazzi, Ocon.

    SWAPPING FOR INTERMEDIATES
With the track drying, there is a flurry of action in the pitlane as Merc and Red Bull pit their drivers for the quicker intermediate tyres.
    Still too damp for slicks.

    ALL DRIVERS ON WETS
Apart from Ocon and Ricciardo. The two Renault boys are trying their luck on the intermediate tyres.

    Q3 IS GO
Looks like we will get this session done after all. Results all pending investigations into the lap times set in Q1 under yellow flags.
But, let’s say this is the shoot out for the top 10 nonetheless.
Can Verstappen take pole ahead of Hamilton?

    FLAG IS OUT
And those drivers eliminated are Gasly, Leclerc, Sainz, Vettel and Norris.
The two Alfa Romeos of Raikkonen and Giovinazzi are through to the top 10.

    UNDER THREE MINUTES TO GO
In the drop zone are – Sainz, Gasly, Vettel, Leclerc, Norris.

    RIDICULOUSNESS OUT OF THE WAY
The flags have gone and qualifying resumes at full speed.
Verstappen again goes quickest, Raikkonen in P2.
But these times will now drop as the rain has stopped and the track starts clearing up.

    Q2 IS GO
But under yellow flags in sector 2 as marshals removed Latifi’s beached Williams. That seems very strange and illogical.
Not too sure what is going on in Race Control today.

    ELIMINATED FROM Q1
    Latifi, Grosjean, Russell, Kvyat, Magnussen.

THAT WAS CLOSE FOR THE CHAMP
And it might not be over yet.
Kevin Magnussen is quizzing how the other drivers improved their times when there were yellow flags.
    He has a point.

    CHEQUERED FLAG IS OUT
Verstappen sets the benchmark. A brave lap of 1:57.485 in these terrible conditions. He will be safe with that.
Hamilton cut that fine as he aborted his final lap and ends the session in 14th place.

    IN THE DROP ZONE ARE
Latifi, Russell, Gasly and Leclerc. Verstappen is only in P15.

    Q1 IS GO….AGAIN Pt2
A little over 2 minutes to go. Grosjean is out but who are the other four drivers who will be eliminated at the first hurdle?

    RED FLAG
Grosjean spins, is stuck in gravel and the session is stopped.
This is turning into a real nightmare.
Leclerc also has an off in the gravel but bumps his Ferrari forward to get back on track.

TOMMY FURY recorded an impressive KO win on his return to the ring against Genadij Krajevskij.
The Love Island star dominated the fight throughout and produced a brutal right uppercut knockout just before the end of the second round.

Lithuanian Krajevskij was left requiring oxygen in the aftermath of the fight but was thankfully able to walk away from the ring.
    Follow all the reaction below…

    MAE DAY
Molly-Mae Hague cheered on Tommy Fury from home as he secured a spectacular second round win.
And she wrote: “MY CHAMP!!!!! Now get home to me.”
And Tommy said in response that he can’t wait to get back to her, stating: “A happy fighter is a dangerous fighter.”

    HEFF SOME OF THAT
Frank Warren was full of praise for Mark Heffron despite a brilliant win for Denzel Bentley, who becomes the new British Middleweight champ.

    FOUR IRON
Let’s take another look at the four-punch combination that saw Tommy Fury snatch a commanding win over Genadij Krajevskij.

    ‘HUNDRED PER CENT A MCDONALD’S’
After an impressive night’s work, Tommy Fury revealed he’s off to McDonald’s.

“If I smell blood, call me Jaws because I’m all over you” 🦈

    — Frank Warren (@frankwarren_tv) November 13, 2020

    ‘IT’S QUITE SAD’
Tommy Fury’s promoter Frank Warren says he will not be watching Mike Tyson’s exhibition with Roy Jones Jr in two weeks.
He commented: “It’s on BT and I work with BT. For me, I have no interest in it.
“By interest, I don’t like the idea of guys that age fighting.
“I know it’s going to be a so-called exhibition match but I have no interest.
“They’re obviously doing it for money and I think it’s quite sad that they’re doing what they’re doing.
“They should not be doing it, boxing is a young man’s game.”

    LIFE ON MARS
Tommy Fury said he’d be ready for a fight with Deontay Wilder’s brother Marsellos in the build-up to tonight’s win.
He commented: “I see a lot of people tweeting about wanting to fight me but I never saw that before I went into Love Island so I know what they are after.
“If Marsellos Wilder is one of those then I will happily oblige.
“My advice for him would be to keep quiet and stay in America where he can try to help his brother recover from what Tyson did to him, fair and square.”

    BENTLEY MOTORING
Denzel Bentley produced a powerful performance to become the British Middleweight champion against Mark Heffron.

    ‘I’M LEARNING ON THE JOB’
Tommy Fury was impressed with his display as he knocked out Lithuania’s Genadij Krajevskij in the second round.
He said: “At the end of the day I just needed to ease into it as I’ve been out of it a year.
“I started putting shots together and felt comfortable.
“I’ve had no amateur experience and I’m learning on the job.
“It’s a long road, but we are going to get there.

    FISTS OF FURY
Here’s that brutal right uppercut KO from Tommy Fury again…

    HEFFRON HORROR
Denzel Bentley needed only two rounds to inflict terrible damage on Mark Heffron and a few more to secure the British title win…

    CHAMP
Bentley said: “It feels great. I join the likes of Terry Downes by going from the Fisher amateur club to British middlweight champion.
“I knew I hurt him with the right hand to the eye. All week I told everyone I would stop him.
“I knew, if I held my ground, that he would not be able to stand with me.
“I want another title, another belt next. Get me another one!”

    WELT-ER WEIGHT
That eye was too bad to carry on…

    EYESORE
Oldham hardman Mark Heffron was on course to slug away for 12 rounds for the vacant middleweight title.
But he overextended a right hand and was countered by razor-sharp Denzel Bentley.
The second-round ping did not look concussive but the wound that grew of Heffron’s eye was gruesome and the ref had to call it off.
The Lonsdale belt moves from Liam Williams to Bentley…

    ALL OVER – BENTLEY WINS
Denzel Bentley wins after clobbering Mark Heffron’s eye utterly closed and purple and bloody.
Bentley becomes British middleweight champion by outboxing the dangerous Oldham banger.
Heffron was not hurt or wobbled – from the second-round blow – but he was utterly blinded by the counter punch and did well to last three more rounds.
Excellent boxing here. A new British champion is crowned.

    ROUND FOUR
Bentley plays with his stances at the start of the fouth, knowing his prey is wounded badly.
Heffron covers up and retreats to the ropes after another banging.
Bentley is oozing confidence while Heffron remains a dangerous beast on the counter.
The South Londoner can edge away with more and more rounds. This is another in the bank.

    ROUND THREE
Heffron’s eye is horrendous, has his corner told him to go for bust?
Bentley lands another right hand to put the Oldham man further on the back foot.
Heffron must be so concerned with guarding that growing welt over his cheek.
It’s a purple and bloody pulp that will act as a magnet to Bentley’s two heavy hands.

    ROUND TWO
Bentley catches most of Heffron’s shots at the start of the second.
The Londonder lands a counter right after Heffron over-extended with a jab to the body.
Bentley has whacked a bloody swelling into Heffron’s left eye.
It’s a horrible bulbous growing bulge of a welt over Heffron’s cheekbone.
This will get called off soon unless Heffron’s corner can perform a miracle.

    ROUND ONE
Oldham’s Heffron has only lost to the brilliant Welshman Liam Williams.
Bentley, 25, is undefeated after just 13 wins.
The Battersea man is guided by Martin Bowers, who is guiding Daniel Dubois rapidly toward a heavyweight world title.
Bentley looks to counter off Heffron’s jab but Heffron lands a couple of left hooks that will give the judges headaches.

    FUGEES!
Yes Mark Heffron from Oldham. Proper banging tune. Ready or not? Here I come, you can’t hide.. Gonna find you, and make you want me…
Denzel ‘2 sharp’ coming out at the BT Sport studios now.
Heffron is the banger, Bentley is the switch-hitting boxer… what a rematch!

    BRITISH TITLE NOW
Mouthwatering middleweight action now as Denzel Bentley and Mark Heffron rematch after their summer draw,
The September original was a classic and Welsh banger Liam Williams has dropped the Lonsdale belt in the meantime so it’s up for grabs now.
Heffron is the dangerous Northern banger. Bentley is the South London boxer coming up the Peacock Gym way.
    You split them!

    DUBOIS V JOYCE
David Haye keeps it simple: “Joe Joyce has one of the best chins in the business but nobody wants to take those punches.
“Dubois’ confidence is huge but he can rely on it too much or be comfortable in it.
“I know Joyce is experienced. I think Dubois expects Joyce to come at him.
“Dubois needs a big gas tank because I have seen Joe’s in the gym and I know it is there.
“I have a favouite because I have seen Joe do it.”

    FAST & FURIOUS
Tommy Fury is a charming boy who does not blow his own trumpet.
The light-heavy lad is now 4-0 and chugging along nicely.
Hall of fame promoter Frank Warren has told anyone moaning about his easy start to the pro game t gang on his door.
The Queensberry boss is guiding the starlet with kid gloves after zero amateur experience.
    WATCH THIS SPACE!

    HAYEMAKER
Cruiserweight and heavyweight ace David Haye encourages Tommy Fury to fight a couple of times a month and spar as often as possible.
The retired ace hopes the prospect is not rushed.
Fury said: “I needed to ease my way in after a year out.
“I just need more of it and that is the simple answer, I would fight every couple of weeks if I could.”

    PHEW!
Tommy Fury victim Genaddij Krajevskij is picked up and carried off of the floor after his second round KO.
The young light-heavyweight sibling of Tyson shows off more skills by handing the journeyman his 12 consecutive loss.
Fury is now 4-0 and needs to be stepped up to prove his TNT nickname is not just smoke and mirrors.

    ROUND TWO – ALL OVER!
The Love Isand ace needs to register harder rounds against stiff opposition and this opener is a decent learning curve.
Krajevskij is a limited but hard man but allows Fury to show his working, after hours in the gym with father Big John Fury.
Fury looks for a lead right uppercut and a hook to the body but the 0-11 stooge stays out of trouble.
The celeb slugger is yet to hurt Krajevskij but has shown a decent improvement in skills after racing to 3-0 against hired bodies.
And Krajevskij is down and out after a monster of a right hand!

Brazil 1-0 Venezuela LIVE RESULT: Firmino scores to make it three wins from three in World Cup group stage

FIRMINO struck in the 67th minute to maintain Brazil’s 100 per cent win record in the race for World Cup 2022 qualification.

Ribeiro got to the by-line and hung the ball up at the back post, Jesus managed to knock the ball down into the path of Firmino who slotted the ball past Farinez.

It was one-way traffic after that, Venezuela didn’t offer much going forward and they were second best to every first and second ball.

Brazil go back to the top of the group after tonight’s win and they’re two points clear of their biggest threat Argentina.

    THAT’S ALL FOR NOW
We were not exactly treated to a high paced game of football, full of goals and drama.
Brazil cruised to three points unopposed and it was Firmino’s 67th minute strike which handed the hosts all three points.
Still a lot of football being covered here at SunSport over the weekend. The international break isn’t over yet!
Later today we have Portugal taking on France with coverage starting at 6.15pm.

    BOBBY FIRMI-GOAL
    Tidy finish from Roberto Firmino!

    TABLE CHECK

The hosts saw 74 per cent of the ball in the second half, compared to 77 per cent at the end of the first half.

88 per cent of Brazil’s passes were accurate, whereas Venezuela only managed to complete 68 per cent of passes attempted.
Brazil managed to add to the eight shots they already registered in the first half.
Firmino’s 67th minute strike was the difference maker.

    FT: BRAZIL 1-0 VENEZUELA
Brazil make it three wins from their opening three World Cup group stage qualifying games!
Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino saved the day when he finished off Jesus’ cushioned knock-down.
Venezuela didn’t really make it a game of football, they sat back and allowed Brazil to dictate play.
Easy three points. Nine points from an available nine for Brazil!

    PEEEEEEP!
    THAT’S FULL-TIME!

    BRAZIL 1-0 VENEZUELA
90+5. Lodi is moved off to the side and Telles is on in his place, play can get back underway.

    BRAZIL 1-0 VENEZUELA
90+3. Lodi is down receiving treatment, he picked up a knock defending Otero’s free-kick.
Man United new boy Telles is ready to come on in his place, there’s about three minutes left to play.

    BRAZIL 1-0 VENEZUELA
90+1. Otero puts his laces through the ball causing it to dip and swerve, but by the time the ball started to dip it had already cleared the crossbar.
    Brazil goal-kick.

    BRAZIL 1-0 VENEZUELA
    90. There will be six minutes added on at the end of the second half.
Venezuela have a free-kick in a dangerous position 30 yards from goal, Otero is eyeing it up.
Will there be a late twist?

    BRAZIL 1-0 VENEZUELA
    JUST WIDE!
    89. Venezuela manage to work some space down the left channel.
Rincon whips a cross in towards the penalty spot and his midfield partner Casseres rises highest to meet it.
He gets the power behind the header that he needs to beat Ederson, but he doesn’t get the direction and it flashes wide of the post!

    BRAZIL 1-0 VENEZUELA
    88. Farinez attempts to punt the ball long to get his team up the pitch, it completely backfires and his wayward punt ends up handing Brazil a throw-on.

    BRAZIL 1-0 VENEZUELA
    86. Just under five minutes for Venezuela to find an equaliser and it’s looking increasingly unlikely.
They look like the can’t be asked.

    BRAZIL 1-0 VENEZUELA
    84. Brazil catch Venezuela out on the counter attack.
Paqueta plays the ball wide to Pedro, the No17 gets to the by-line and floats the ball towards the far post where Everton was waiting.
Everton lines up the spectacular over-head kick, but ends up misjudging the flight of the ball and missing it completely.

    BRAZIL 1-0 VENEZUELA
    RED CARD!
    82. A member of Venezuela’s coaching staff receives a red card after overreacting to one of the referee’s decisions.
The referee wasn’t in the mood to hear any complaints and he gave him his marching orders.

    BRAZIL 1-0 VENEZUELA
    80. We’re entering the final ten minutes and Venezuela continue to offer very little going forward.
They manage to get past the halfway line, then proceed to look like a deer in headlights, turn back and pass the ball back into their own half.
Brazil catch them sleeping on the job and the home side try to break down the left-hand side.
Lodi tries to race clear into open space, Osorio manages to get across and bring the left-back down conceding a free-kick.

    BRAZIL 1-0 VENEZUELA
    77. Brazil and Venezuela have made changes.
Brazil have taken off Jesus and Richarlison for Pedro and Everton Soares.
Venezuela have taken off Rosales, Machis and Soteldo for Gonzalez and Otero.

    BRAZIL 1-0 VENEZUELA
    75. Danilo finds himself surrounded on the halfway line, he turns back towards his own goal and play an intelligent pass to Silva.
Silva takes his time as Brazil look to reset from the back, the Chelsea man does however invite a little bit of pressure.
Savarino gets too close for comfort and he pushes the Chelsea man down conceding a free-kick.

    BRAZIL 1-0 VENEZUELA
    72. Richarlison attempts a give-and-go with Jesus on the edge of the penalty area.
The ball bobbles up in front of him and bounces off his shin completely ruining what would have been a slick move.
No need to worry, Venezuela continue to be useless going forward and Brazil win back possession with ease.

    BRAZIL 1-0 VENEZUELA
    70. Lovely pass and move by Brazil.
Richarlison lays it off to Paqueta, the midfielder plays a lofted pass over Venezuela’s backline for Lodi to run onto but the left-back can’t catch up in time to keep the ball on the pitch.

    BRAZIL 1-0 VENEZUELA
    69. Venezuela are not offering much going forward – they’ve lost the ball straight from kick-off.
Brazil are continuing to dominate the game and at this rate it won’t be long until we see a second hit the back of the net.

    BRAZIL 1-0 VENEZUELA
    66. Ribeiro drives to the by-line and hangs the ball up at the back post.
Jesus manages to knock the ball down into the path of Firmino, the forward touches the ball out of his feet and slots the ball home!
    We finally have a breakthrough!

    GOOOOOOOOAAAAAAALLLLLLL!!!!
    FIRMINO BREAKS THE DEADLOCK!!!!
    COMPOSED FINISH!!!!

    SIZE DOESN’T MATTER
    Bless him!
Watching Soteldo chase after a very tall and physical Brazilian backline brings back memories of secondary school, when the Year 11’s used to take the Year 7’s football.

    Credit: Getty Images

    BRAZIL 0-0 VENEZUELA
    61. Allan picks out Everton team-mate Richarlison in space on the right flank.
This time Richarlison manages to float a cross in and Jesus rises highest to meet the ball, but he can’t guide his effort on target.

    ROUND ONE
Tommy Fury has arrived draped in a white and gold emboidered gown. Dave is wearing a potato sack with arm holes hacked in at late notice.
Fury and Krajevskij weight in just under 13st for the light-heavy clash but Fury looks like a body builder while dave resembles a hod carrier.
Krajevskij has boxed as a middleweight, so is up against it.
Fury has almost no amateur pedigree but oozes genetic promises and is learning on the job.

    BALTIC BOMBER
With all the respect in the world, would anyone mind if we called Genaddij Krajevskij ‘Dave’ from now on?
I mean, the geezer has lost 11 on the spin… I adore journeymen as much as the next man. But he’s no Gennady Golovkin.
Fury vs Dave happens very soon.

    FURY-OUS
Tyson Fury’s promorer Frank Warren confirms the Gypsy King is dealing with the Deontay Wilder trilogy in the courtroom…
Warren said: “I think there will something next week but there is a way to go yet.
“Tyson is training very hard and he just wants to get back in the ring.
“The Wilder rematch was supposed to happen but it was not to be and it expired. Now there is a hearing going on and expected to happen next week.”

    TOMMY FURY
The famous light-heavyweight is up next, looking to kickstart his promising career after lockdown.
The 3-0 Love Island ace wants to step out of brother Tyson’s shadow with is own boxing career.
The little hulk takes on Genaddij Krajevskij – who has not won a single fight in 11 attempts.

    ALL DONE
gyarko said: ” “I prepared for 10 rounds but I wanted to flow and raise it 10 pre cent each round.
“I am used to hurting people and I am used to that but I am training to be more loose.
“Once I have someone hurt I will close the show. I am only 23 and am always learning.”
Agyarko’s trainer Al Smith adds: “We paced him tonight, he is multi-talented and he is growing with every fight,”

    ROUND SEVEN – AGYARKO WINS
Three rounds to go and Agyarko is well in front and starts with a great right hand that stuns Chapman.
The Camden custodian was clipped with a right hand and was wobbled.
A lesser fighter might have relaxed but three left hooks rattle Chapman’s skull and ref Williams rightly dives in to end the contest.

    ROUND SIX
Agyarko is a brilliantly popular boxer but he has failed to shine in his second lockdown bout now.
Chapman is a clever but limited domestic contender but he has kept the Irishman busy and down at his level.
The middlewight prospect is expected to kick on toward domestic titles but he will struggle on his last two performances.
Agyarko will need to up his game dramatically to fulfil his early amateur potential. How will ref Bob Williams score it?

F1 Turkish Grand Prix LIVE RESULTS: Latest updates as Lewis Hamilton guns for seventh world title

LEWIS HAMILTON is closing in on his seventh world title as F1 rolls on with the Turkish Grand Prix this week.
Hamilton will secure the title in Istanbul on Sunday if team-mate Valtteri Bottas does not outscore him by more than seven points.

Follow ALL of the latest updates below…

    FP2 IS DONE
Verstappen leads the way for Red Bull, Leclerc keeps Ferrari’s hopes of a revival alive with a solid second. Bottas in P3 and Hamilton in P4.

    13 MINS TO GO
The teams are now nearing the end of their programmes. No major issues for anyone mechanically in this session, but tyres still proving difficult.

    MERC IMPROVING
It has been a scrappy session but you can slowly see Mercedes getting on top of this track.
It is dirty and dusty and very slippery but after a difficult FP1, they are slowly climbing up the timesheets in FP2.
Bottas is in third and Hamilton in fourth place.

    ANOTHER SPIN FOR RUSSELL
The Williams man loses control and slides into a spin. There is comparatively little downforce on that car, so no wonder he is struggling more than others.

    VETTEL LOCKS UP
And his tyres are instantly destroyed. This is proving to be extremely tricky out there.
It is Leclerc, Verstappen, Albon, Hamilton, Gasly, Vettel, Norris, Bottas in the pecking order.

    FERRARI GOING WELL
Now this is a surprise as we have a Ferrari in P1 and P2. They seem to be fairing better on the low-grip surface than the Mercedes due.
Hamilton in P4 and Bottas in P6.
    Early days yet, though…

    ONE HOUR TO GO
Albon is again looking quick in P1.
The Red Bull man desperately needs a good weekend here. And so far things are going smoothly enough.

TYRES ARE PROVING A PROBLEM HERE
This morning it was all too slippery, not the tyres are not lasting as long as these should.
Worth remembering that when Red Bull last won here, Vettel did FIVE pitstops.
Could we see more stops on Sunday? Hope so.

    FP2 IS GO
And there is plenty of action on track. Bottas is top of the time sheets.
Hamilton is in P2 having recovered from this morning lack of running.

FP1 IS DONE – VERSTAPPEN TOPS THE SESSION
It is a Red Bull 1-2 as Verstappen leads Albon. It is the Milton Keynes-based team’s 300th F1 GP this weekend.
Leclerc a surprise in P3 and Gasly P4.
    Hamilton was only 15th quickest.

    TWO MINS TO GO
Alex Albon is the quickest man on track, followed by Leclerc and then Vettel.

    A WORD ON THE CHAMPION
He has spent the majority of this session in the team’s garage but Lewis Hamilton is now out on the track.
He’s comfortably inside the top 10 having done half the number of laps as everyone else. He’s left it late in the hope that the track improves.

    SO THAT SMALL FAULT…
    Sainz now stops on track.
Perhaps that small fault was not as small as McLaren first thought.
His car is being pushed backwards by the marshals to the escape road – although now it appears stuck.

    UPDATE ON SAINZ
McLaren say he has a small electrical issue on his car. Nothing major to worry about.

A LITTLE OVER 35 MINUTES TO RUN
And Bottas is topping the session. The Finn needs to outscore Hamilton by eight points this weekend to take the title fight to Bahrain.
    That’s a big ask…
Verstappen in P2, Leclerc P3 and Vettel in P4.
    Where is Hamilton?
He is currently bottom of the timesheets as he has not set a time yet. He’s waiting for the track to clean up.

    SAINZ TOLD TO PIT
Problem for the McLaren man as his engineer sounds panicked: “Scenario One. We have some things to check on the engine.”

    WE KNOW THIS NOW, BUT…
Why does F1 not put on some support races, especially with these tracks that have not been used for years?
We are 30 minutes into the session and only now can you see the racing line being marked as the rubber is laid down.
Surely a local racing event would help clean things up quicker.

    LOTS OF SLIDING
Just two drivers have been able to put in timed laps – Bottas and Vettel. The rest are still tip-toeing around the circuit looking for grip.

    SESSION RESTARTED
But it is all too difficult to keep the cars on on the track. This is going to be a fun session.
Bottas is the latest driver to slide off track.

    RED FLAG
We have a cone down and the session has been stopped.

    FP1 IS GO
And birthday boy Lando Norris is first out.
Max Verstappen also hits the track. He laughs over the radio and says “It is like driving on ice”.
That will be the dirty track I was mentioning.
And if Max says it is difficult, then you can be sure it is.

    FP1 IS ALL SET
Beautiful day here in Turkey. It is sunny and a little crisp, just 14 degrees but should be warming up nicely later.
This track is looking in excellent state, yes a little dirty given F1 has not been here since 2011, plus it has recently been resurfaced, the the surface will need some scrubbing up.

Can Hamilton seal his seventh world title this weekend in Turkey?

    RACE SCHEDULE FOR THE WEEKEND

    Practice 2 – midday
    Tomorrow
