Uruguay 0-2 Brazil LIVE REACTION: Edinson Cavani SENT OFF as Arthur and Richarlison secure convincing Brazil win

BRAZIL secured victory over Uruguay in one of football’s oldest derbies.
First half goals from Arthur and Richarlison made it four wins out of for for the Selecao.

And to add insult to injury for the hosts, Edinson Cavani was controversially sent off after a VAR review.

    ‘IT SURPRISED ME’
Uruguay boss Oscar Tabarez gave a very brief reaction to Edinson Cavani’s red card.
He said: “It looked to me like there was no intention from Edinson Cavani. It surprised me.”
Cavani will miss Uruguay’s next game away to Argentina if the red card is not overturned.

    RASH CHALLENGE
Like England’s Marcus Rashford, Richarlison proved himself to be a class act by dedicating his goal to people in the Brazilian state of Amapa who have been without electricity for two weeks.
He wrote: “Unfortunately people in Amapa couldn’t see my goal as they haven’t had light for TWO WEEKS.
“They’re living really difficult days and I hope they resolve it soon.
“I want to dedicate the goal and victory to all Amapaenses.”

    SEE YA!
Just before I head off I’ll tell you that Paraguay and Bolivia drew 2-2 in a game that started at the same time as this one.
And if you want more South American action to take you through the night then why not join Sam Street for Peru vs Argentina.
Argentina are 1-0 up with half-hour gone in that one. Sam is ready to take you through into the small hours.

    JOB DONE
A very pleasing night for Brazil in the end. They were very average against Venezuela and knew they needed to be better here.

    FT: URUGUAY 0-2 BRAZIL
    That’s all she wrote.
Brazil get the win thanks to first-half goals from Arthur and Richarlison.
Uruguay held their own for 20 minutes or so but looked lost as soon as they fell behind without their man man Suarez.
It’s 4 wins out of 4 to start the World Cup qualifying campaign for Tite’s men.

    URUGUAY 0-2 BRAZIL
90, Two late changes for Brazil as Ribeiro and Luiz go off and Paqueta and Guimaraes come on.
A few extra caps handed out.

    URUGUAY 0-2 BRAZIL
90, FOUR minutes of injury time.

    URUGUAY 0-2 BRAZIL
87, Uruguay look resigned here to their fate.
Brazil just stroking it around and going through the motions.

    URUGUAY 0-2 BRAZIL
83, And someone has just turned the gas down a bit and the simmering has died off.
Brazil going through the motions now, they’re minutes away from 4 straight wins.

    URUGUAY 0-2 BRAZIL
80, Well this game has suddenly come into life.
Tite will want these final 10 minutes to be over with and move on.

    URUGUAY 0-2 BRAZIL
    76, It’s offside. No goal.
The corner came in and Brazil pushed out well as it was semi-cleared.
As it came back in Caceres was offside before scrambling it into the bottom corner.
    No goal for 10-man Uruguay.

    URUGUAY 0-2 BRAZIL
75, Well Uruguay have the ball in the back of the net here, but the offside flag is up.
    It’s being checked.
Caceres has the ball in his hand and ready to go and kick-off again after a scrappy finish past Ederson after the ball ricocheted around.

    URUGUAY 0-2 BRAZIL
    72, This is the incident.
It has to be said they were running at full speed and it looked like an accident to me and a yellow card the right decision.
It’s a potential serious one for Richarlison, though, a possible achilles injury given the contact.

    URUGUAY 0-2 BRAZIL
71, The referee has come to look at the VAR monitor to see if there’s anything more sinister in Cavani’s tackle on Richarlison.
And he says there is. It’s a RED CARD for Cavani.
He is adjudged to have deliberately trodden on the back of Richarlison’s ankle and has been shown a red card.
I have to say that is very harsh.

    URUGUAY 0-2 BRAZIL
69, And Cavani goes into the book now as well for clipping the back of Richarlison’s heels.
That looked accidental from the striker but a nasty one for Richarlison.
It’s his last act anyway as Everton replaces him – oh, the irony.

    URUGUAY 0-2 BRAZIL
66, Yellow card for Nandez as he leaves a foot in late on Arthur.
Naughty challenge that and a rightful booking.
There’s some activity on the brazil bench also.

    URUGUAY 0-2 BRAZIL
63, Brazil looking dangerous when they spring forward now.
Caceres was needed with an excellent defensive header at the far post just then after Ribeiro’s beauty of a whipped cross from the right.
Think there’s another goal here for Brazil if they want it.

    URUGUAY 0-2 BRAZIL
61, Double change for the home side as Bentancur and Torreira make way.
On in their place come Arambarri and Brian Rodriguez.

    URUGUAY 0-2 BRAZIL
60, Getting a bit heated now as Caceres lunges in wildly to try and stop Richarlison.
The Everton man did so well to avoid the sliding tackle that the result is a Uruguay goal-kick.

    URUGUAY 0-2 BRAZIL
57, There doesn’t look to be much sting in Uruguay at the moment.
Their best chance of a goal will surely be from something in the air aimed at Cavani with Suarez not available.

    URUGUAY 0-2 BRAZIL
55, The home side will be very disappointed that they’re yet to have a shot on target in this game.
Ederson having an easy night so far in the Brazil sticks.

    URUGUAY 0-2 BRAZIL
51, Ribiero stands over the dangerous free-kick won by Jesus on the edge of the box off to the right.
And he whips in a menacing cross right across the face of goal before Campana gratefully clutches on.

    URUGUAY 0-2 BRAZIL
49, Gimenez forward for Uruguay to attack this cross, and he completely bundles his man over in an attempt to head the ball.
He follows up by scything down Jesus and picking up a yellow card so not a happy couple of minutes.

    URUGUAY 0-2 BRAZIL
47, Jesus with the first sighter of the second half – and it’s high and wide.
The Man City forward’s eyes lit up there as he hammered in a shot from 20 yards but it went harmlessly over.

    HERE WE GO AGAIN
Right then, 45 minutes down. 45 to go.
We’re underway in the second half.

Peru 0-2 Argentina LIVE REACTION: Martinez and Gonzalez give Messi and co crucial World Cup qualifying win

ARGENTINA cruised past Peru in Lima with one of their best displays in quite some time.
Two great counter-attacking goals from Nico Gonzalez and Lautaro Martinez saw the Argentines make light work of the Peruvians, who huffed and puffed but just didn’t have the same quality in the final third.

    RESULTS
Here are all the results from tonight’s South American World Cup qualifiers…
    Ecuador 6 Colombia 1
    Venezuela 2 Chile 1
    Paraguay 2 Bolivia 2
    Uruguay 0 Brazil 2
    Peru 0 Argentina 2

    GOD AL-MARTI
Lautaro Martinez had one shot and netted one goal for Argentina today.
That strike leaves him with 11 goals in 21 appearances for the Albiceleste.
Any opposition that is focusing completely on Messi might be making a big mistake…

    PAOL THE OTHER ONE
If you think Messi is important for Argentina, check out this incredible Paolo Guerrero stat for Peru.
Los Incas haven’t won without their captain since the World Cup intercontinental play-off against New Zealand in 2017.
With the Internacional striker now 36 and out with a long-term injury, the future looks rather worrying for the Peruvians.

🇵🇪 #Peru haven’t won a competitive game without Paolo Guerrero in 3 years, since the World Cup qualifying playoff against New Zealand.
Still so dependent on their captain, talisman, and all-time top scorer. The 36 year old striker, out with a long-term injury, is irreplaceable. pic.twitter.com/ZbpMCgdWgb
    — Joga Bonito (@Jasoninho10) November 18, 2020

    SWEET 16
To give an idea of what a big result this could be, Argentina have not beaten Peru away in World Cup qualifying since 2004.
All of their past three meetings away to Los Incas have ended in a draw.
In addition to that, the Argentines laid ghosts to rest at one of their biggest bogey grounds in the altitude of La Paz by beating Bolivia 2-1 last month.
Travel sickness seems to be a thing of the past for this team.

Peru’s Andre Carrillo: “The first halves have cost us a lot.
“We have suffered from a couple of lapses in concentration.
“Individually we have to do more.”

    CAV SOME OF THAT
With Uruguay up next, the big news for Argentina is that Edinson Cavani is set to miss out through suspension.
The Man Utd star was controversially sent off after a VAR review for treading on Richarlison’s ankle in La Celeste’s 2-0 defeat to Brazil.

Martinez: “I think today we played really good football and we can leave very content.
“With Paraguay I didn’t have a good game individually.
“Today I had to reverse that image, more than anything personally, because I have to work for the team.”

Lautaro Martinez: “Today we were calmer when we had the ball.
“We managed [the game] with patience and found the spaces.
“Paredes saw the movement I made and played a fair pass that he could define.”

    ARGIE BARGY
The one question Argentines will have after this international break is whether they can break down more stubborn teams than Peru, who came to attack.
They only came away with a 1-1 draw at home to a niggly Paraguay side last weekend and it’s where they have struggled in recent years.
But they might not have to wait too long to find out whether they have cracked the code… it’s Uruguay up next in March.

    OUT ON A LIM
It’s victory in Lima for Argentina with one of their most uncharacteristic performances but also one of their best in recent years.
To see a team like Argentina go to Peru away and be happy to sit in two banks of four and pick them off on the counter-attack would not have been what many people at all expected.
However, Peru created very few chances despite spending much of the game in the Argentine half, whereas the visitors could have had four or five.
Credit to that has to go to coach Lionel Scaloni, who has reduced dependence on Messi and let other talents shine through.
The gutsy pick of Stuttgart’s Nico Gonzalez at left-wing appears to have really paid dividends.
He has two goals from two games and was so hungry that he looked nothing less than fuming not to have notched more.

Messi: “Always when I come here I try to give the maximum and I feel qualified to fight for this shirt.
“I feel good to continue working and adding games.”

Messi: “The second half the other day was very good and I think we are continuing along the same line, even raising the level a bit.
“I think this is the path we have to follow. Little by little we are becoming stronger as a group.”

    MESSI ON THE MIC
Lionel Messi is giving his view of Argentina’s win.
He says: “I’m happy with the victory. We needed it after the game [against Paraguay] we played the other day.
“From the beginning we had a great match. The goals came and we created many, many chances.”

    POINTS ON THE BOARD
Argentina have reason to be very happy with their start after picking up ten points from their first four qualifiers.
They tuck in just behind Brazil who are on 12 out of 12, with the traditional powerhouses appearing to reassert control in South America following a chaotic decade which has seen the likes of Colombia, Chile and Uruguay challenge for honours.
Peru sit joint bottom with Bolivia on one point and know they must improve for their next two fixtures in March, which see them face the Bolivians in La Paz followed by Venezuela back in Lima.

    🇶🇦 Eliminatorias Sudamericanas (J4):
    🟢1⃣ Brasil 12 pts.🟢2⃣ Argentina 10.🟢3⃣ Ecuador 9.🟢4⃣ Paraguay 6.🟡5⃣ Uruguay 6.🔴6⃣ Chile 4.🔴7⃣ Colombia 4.🔴8⃣ Venezuela 3.🔴9⃣ Perú 1.🔴🔟 Bolivia 1.

Martinez can return to the San Siro very pleased with his exploits tonight.

    Calcaterra replaces Yotun for Peru.

Christian Cueva goes off for Raul Ruidiaz for Peru.

    78: PERU 0 ARGENTINA 2
It’s a yellow card for Peru goalkeeper Pedro Gallese!
Angel Di Maria is played through and Gallese comes charging out of his box.
The keeper wins the ball the first time but comes back for a second bite of the cherry and takes out the PSG man.
Neither player willing to give an inch.

    76: PERU 0 ARGENTINA 2
Messi coming to life now as he gets a run at goal, beats the defender and fires a left-footed shot past Gallese’s right-hand post.

    OT YOU GO
Nicolas Otamendi’s yellow card means he will miss March’s crucial qualifier at home to Uruguay.

    72: PERU 0 ARGENTINA 2
Very nearly an instant impact from Angel Di Maria as he forces a brilliant save from Gallese with a powerful low strike.

    71: PERU 0 ARGENTINA 2
Angel Di Maria comes on for Argentina.
Nico Gonzalez is the man going off and he can be very pleased with his night’s work.
Though he looked more frustrated not to have scored more than one goal in this evening.

    70: PERU 0 ARGENTINA 2
Peru Captain Edison Flores goes off for Andy Polo while Aldo Corzo replaces Luis Advincula.

    CRO V POR
Ronaldo will have to wait a little longer to get his 103rd goal for country, but he did manage his 101st win with his national side.
Kovacic, on the other hand, was the star of the Croatian side bagging both of their goals.

    TABLE SERVICE
Here’s the final standings in Group A3.
Sweden drop down to B, while France progress to the finals.

    HIT FOR SIX
It’s been a goal-fest in Spain, as they have scored SIX against Germany!
While the other game in this group has now concluded, with France getting a fourth; final score 4-2.

    FULL TIME
Portugal spent most of the second half with a one-man advantage but have finished the game with a one goal advantage.
Croatia pushed them right to the death, but several keeper errors cost them the game.
France are currently 3-2 up against Sweden which saves Croatia from relegation, there’s a minute left of that game.

    FT: CROATIA 2-3 PORTUGAL

    CROATIA 2-3 PORTUGAL
    90. Substitution for Croatia; Kovacic is replaced by Basic.

    89. Crucial error in the dying minutes by Livakovic.
As a Portuguese corner is whipped in Livakovic is up to meet it at the edge of the six-yard box.
He catches it high in the air, but as he comes to the ground he clatters Lovren and drops the ball.
Dias spots the bouncing ball and turns a full 180 away from Lovren tapping it into the back of the net.
    CROATIA 2-3 PORTUGAL

    GOOOOAL
    ANOTHER ERROR BETWEEN THE STICKS

    CROATIA 2-2 PORTUGAL
    89. Lovren marshals his troops ahead of Portugal’s corner.

    CROATIA 2-2 PORTUGAL
    87. Juranovic is down clutching his throat.
Seemed to block a cross with his wind pope.

    86. Croatia are trying to keep the gaps available to Portugal to a minimum- they’ve been very disciplined defensively.

    CROATIA 2-2 PORTUGAL
    85. There’s still time for either side to pinch the three points here..

    CROATIA 2-2 PORTUGAL
    83. Semedo gives the ball a helping hand in the eyeline of Oliver and gifts Croatia a free kick just inside Portugal’s half.

    CROATIA 2-2 PORTUGAL
    78. Livakovic keeps it level!
Olivero hits the ball from the centre of the box at goal, but Livakovic bats it away.
Again he fails to collect it properly and this time it falls into the path of Bernardo Silva.
The Manchester City man fires it way over the bar in what was Portugal’s 14th attempt.

    CROATIA 2-2 PORTUGAL
Two goals in 60 games for Kovacic, but tonight he’s had two in 60 minutes…

    CROATIA 2-2 PORTUGAL
    Here’s Portugal’s second goal…

    CROATIA 2-2 PORTUGAL
    71. Perisic shoots from a tight angle on the left, but it rolls out the other side of the box.
The Croatian forward was forced to shoot as there were no other black shirts anywhere near the box.

    CROATIA 2-2 PORTUGAL
    70. Bringing on the Calvary, Portugal make two substitutions; Bernardo Silva on for Felix
And Rui is replaced by Cancelo

    CROATIA 2-2 PORTUGAL

Belgium vs England LIVE REACTION: Three Lions FAIL to qualify for Nations League finals after defeat

ENGLAND will NOT be at the Nations League finals next summer after losing 2-0 to Belgium.
Though Jack Grealish’s starring performance tonight was a glimmer of hope for boss Gareth Southgate.

Follow ALL of the latest reaction below…

    THAT’S ALL FOR TONIGHT
England fell short when they needed to pull out a win to keep their Nations League hopes alive.
As for Belgium, they’re one point from booking their place in next summers finals.
A win or a draw against Denmark should do the job, but if they lose, Denmark take top spot.
England face Iceland next week in what is now a pointless fixture.
    Goodnight!

    LIONS OUT
Unlucky England were KO’d from the Nations League as group leaders Belgium hit a dodgy double to clinch victory inside the first 23 minutes.
READ MORE: BELGIUM 2-0 ENGLAND MATCH REPORT

    SOUTHGATE SPEAKS
England boss Gareth Southgate spoke to Sky after the game: “The scoreline does feel harsh. We don’t like losing football matches but I’ve got to give enormous credit to the players.
“Right the way through the game we created problems with the ball and defended resiliently. I feel we were excellent.
“We had a different profile of players in attack – we lost a lot of speed up front without Raheem and Marcus – but I can’t fault the attacking play.
“I thought Jack had an absolutely outstanding game. We created far more opportunities than we did against Belgium at Wembley.
“I saw somebody with the bravery to play [Grealish], which I knew I would.
“He took the ball in tight areas, his technique was good, he took players out of the game; and we knew he would buy a lot of free-kicks.
“I just thought he was outstanding. He should be absolutely delighted with the way he played.
“I thought Bukayo also showed a lot of maturity and quality on the ball. Although we are out of the competition, there were a lot of plusses for us today.”

    TWITTER REACTS
It’s safe to say, Jack Grealish was England’s best player tonight.

A much improved England in the 2nd half but still no goal. Here’s showing Jack Grealish why he got the nod from the England Manager today. pic.twitter.com/vSZUxw0C2Z
    — RostadiusProjects (@RostadiusP) November 15, 2020

    KANE SPEAKS
England captain Harry Kane spoke to Sky after tonight’s disappointing loss: “I think we were dominant today and were unlucky to concede the two goals.
“The first was a deflection and I don’t think the second was a foul. From there we dominated but we couldn’t find the end product.
“If we play like this going forward we’ll win the majority of our games.
“Mase and Jack are really good on the ball, turning defenders and playing one-twos on the edge of the box.
“I really like playing with Jack – you can see his quality on the ball, one against one, and he’s always looking for a forward pass which is great for a striker.”

    TABLE CHECK
England are looking miserable in third.
Denmark’s late winner against Iceland puts them three points ahead of England and within two of Belgium.
It all goes down to the clash between Belgium and Denmark next week to see who will be progressing to the Nations League finals.

    FULL-TIME STATS
England managed to hold on to the majority of possession in the second half, but much like the first half they didn’t really use it.
Belgium were happy to sit back, invite pressure and then hit England on the counter attack – conceding the two early goals allowed them to do that.

England continued to use Jack Grealish as their main outlet, they based 42.7 per cent of their attacks down the left-hand side.
England had 16 attempts but only managed to register three of those on target. Woeful.

    FT: BELGIUM 2-0 ENGLAND
Belgium manage to hold firm securing all three points, they have their revenge for last months defeat at Wembley.
England pushed for goals in the second half but ultimately came up short when it mattered.
Jack Grealish is the only positive from tonight’s game, he was the one player who looked dangerous in the final third and he’s proved he can be of use to Southgate.
Southgate does need to address some issues within the team, they’re looking rather flat a times.
Belgium will have to wait a little longer to confirm their place in next summer’s Nations League finals.
Iceland did equalise late on, but Eriksen restored Denmark’s lead minutes later scoring from the penalty spot.

    PEEEEEEP!
    THAT’S FULL-TIME!

    BELGIUM 2-0 ENGLAND
90+1. De Bruyne is furious with Lukaku, he was in open space at the back post but Lukaku went for goal.

    BELGIUM 2-0 ENGLAND
    CHANCE!
    90. Tielemans plays a lovely ball into the path of Lukaku, the former United forward brings the ball down well and drives towards goal.
He beats Mings effortlessly and smashes a shot wide of the far post!

    YOU SHALL NOT PASS
Roberto Martinez has his side well drilled, every time England get inside their penalty area, a sea of red close down any shooting opportunity.

    BELGIUM 2-0 ENGLAND
    87. Grealish plays a clever pass into Kane, he twists and turns hoping to find an opening but everybody but Lukaku was back inside the penalty area for Belgium.
In other news, Iceland have equalised against Denmark and as it stands, Belgium qualify for the Nations League finals tonight.

    BELGIUM 2-0 ENGLAND
    84. Grealish drives at the Belgium backline again and plays a lovely disguised pass in behind for Saka to run onto.
Saka pulls the ball back to the edge of the six yard box for Kane but Alderweireld sticks a foot in.
The ball breaks back to Saka inside the penalty area, he knocks the ball past Witsel and goes to ground appealing for a penalty – the referee dismisses his claim.

    BELGIUM 2-0 ENGLAND
    83. England haven’t really looked like scoring, it’s been a poor attacking display from Southgate’s men.

    BELGIUM 2-0 ENGLAND
    80. Rice plays the ball into Sancho on the right-hand side, the winger holds play up allowing Walker to overlap.
Sancho passes the ball to Walker, the right-back drives to the by-line and hangs a cross up in the air, but Courtois being the man-mountain he is comfortably catches the ball.

    BELGIUM 2-0 ENGLAND
    79. Mings manages to break up a dangerous Belgium attack and play it to his Aston Villa team-mate Jack Grealish.
Grealish senses Meunier breathing down his neck and he delicately flicks the ball over his shoulder sending the right-back for a hotdog.

    BELGIUM 2-0 ENGLAND
    77. Rice intercepts Witsel’s pass into Tielemans and plays the ball into the feet of Kane.
Witsel catches Kane flat-footed and sets De Bruyne off running the other way as Belgium search for a third which would secure all three points.

    BELGIUM 2-0 ENGLAND
    SAVE!
    76. Mertens is picked out by Lukaku inside the penalty area, the goal-scorer gets to the by-line and plays the ball back into Lukaku who shoots straight at Pickford!

    BELGIUM 2-0 ENGLAND
    73. Rice intercepts play inside the opposition half, he tries to slips Grealish through on goal but his pass is wayward.
Grealish manages to keep the ball in play and he plays the ball back to Saka to reset from the back.

    SEA OF RED
A sea of red shirts surrounded Kane the minute he found some space.

    BELGIUM 2-0 ENGLAND
    69. Kane receives the ball with his back to goal, he holds Witsel off well and plays the ball wide to Grealish.
Grealish and Saka combine down the left-hand side but soon run into trouble.

    BELGIUM 2-0 ENGLAND
    68. Double change for England, Sancho and Calvert-Lewin are on for Trippier and Mount.
Walker has moved over into the right-back position.

    BELGIUM 2-0 ENGLAND
    66. Grealish feeds Saka down the line, the youngster hesitates delivering a first-time cross into the box allowing Kane to play catch-up.
He takes a touch to set himself and tries to whip a cross in but it is blocked by Witsel.

    BELGIUM 2-0 ENGLAND
    65. Play is back underway and Trippier is back on.

F1 Turkish Grand Prix LIVE RESULTS: Hamilton WINS seventh world title, Brit star LAPS Bottas – latest reaction

LEWIS HAMILTON is world champion for a record seventh time after a stunning drive in Turkey.
Hamilton LAPS Bottas after teammate spins on opening corner.
Stroll starts on pole but fails to get on podium.
    1st Hamilton 2nd Perez 3rd Vettel
Follow ALL of the latest reaction below…

    ‘I’M JUST GETTING STARTED’
Hamilton is ready to go again…
“There’s no end to what me and this team can do together. What a day. A lot to take in.
“I feel like I’m only just getting started. I feel physically in great shape and mentally this year has been the hardest year for millions of people and it’s no different for us athletes.”

    LUCKY NUMBER SEVEN
If you’re just joining us, Lewis Hamilton has made history.

    LECLERC TURNS AIR BLUE
It wasn’t a day to remember for the Ferrari driver who handed a podium finish to teammate Sebastien Vettel by messing up three corners from the line.
Leclerc blasted through team radio: “I did a s*** job. A s*** job.”
Understandably, he’s calmed down now and although frustrated at his own performance has congratulated Hamilton on his triumph.

And of course, a huge congratulations to @LewisHamilton for being a seven times World Champion. What an achievement!
    — Charles Leclerc (@Charles_Leclerc) November 15, 2020

    HOW THE RACE WAS WON
Instead of coasting home, Hamilton thumped on the accelerator and thumped the brake pedal as if his life depended on it, writes Ben Hunt.
And in treacherous conditions too. He battled his way through the field, taking heart-in-the-mouth risks, to cross the line 31.6 seconds ahead of Sergio Perez in second place.
There is an argument that he wins because he has the best car. At this race, with conditions a real leveller, the best driver won.
It is as simple as that.
Before the race, there were some worried faces as the dark clouds gathered over the Istanbul Park circuit and the heavens opened.
The rain had caused havoc the previous day to result in an unlikely first pole position for Lance Stroll.
But there was one man who looked an oasis of calm, despite what was at stake as Hamilton stuck to his usual pre-race routine.

    GROUP EFFORT
The entire Mercedes team were going berserk as Hamilton crossed the line – and an emotional driver went to celebrate with them in the pits.

IN CASE YOU’RE LATE TO THE PARTY…
Lewis Hamilton clinched his record-equalling seventh world title by putting in a vintage performance to win the Turkish Grand Prix.
It was win 94 in his glorious F1 career and yet another master class.
With his only rival, Valtteri Bottas sinking like a stone after so many spins that he was probably left dizzy, Hamilton didn’t even need to complete this race.
Hamilton said: “My whole life I’ve secretly dreamt as high as this.
“I remember watching Michael winning those championships. We always hear just to get 1 or 2 or even 3 is so hard to get – 7 is just so unimaginable.
“There’s no end to what me and this team can do together. What a day. A lot to take in.”

    THE CHAMP SPEAKS
An emotional Hamilton has taken to his socials…

7X Formula 1 World Champion. Wow. To everyone that has supported me along the way, this is for you. To my incredible family, where do I even start? I am eternally grateful for your unconditional love, sacrifices and support… https://t.co/Uwb34qzCx2
    — Lewis Hamilton (@LewisHamilton) November 15, 2020

    RAW EMOTION
This is what it feels like to be a seven-time world champion…

    TEAM-MATE TRIBUTE
Valtteri Bottas: “He deserves it, he was better than us on average and fully deserves it. I’ll try and beat him next year.”

    THE STATS
Here it is, the comparison between 7-time world champions…

    DREAM BIG
Lewis Hamilton talking to Mark Webber: “My whole life I’ve secretly dreamt as high as this.
“I remember watching Michael winning those championships. We always hear just to get 1 or 2 or even 3 is so hard to get – 7 is just so unimaginable.
“There’s no end to what me and this team can do together. What a day. A lot to take in.
“I feel like I’m only just getting started. I feel physically in great shape and mentally this year has been the hardest year for millions of people and it’s no different for us athletes.”

    MORE FROM LEWIS
“There was a point when Seb was pulling away from me but I just kept my head down and kept believing I would pick up pace at some stage and that’s what I did.
“I couldn’t figure out what it was. I was checking my temperatures.
“Seb pitted and I knew that wasn’t the right choice and stayed out.
“I lost a world championship in the pit lane so I learned my lesson from 2007. I felt like I had it under control and deal with the rain if it dropped.”

    ‘DREAM THE IMPOSSIBLE’
An emotional Hamilton: “I’m a bit lost for words. I think naturally I have to start with saying thank you to the team. The journey we’ve been on is monumental.
“I want to say also a big thank you to team LH for sticking with me all these years. And to my family who dreamed of this when we were young and watching the grand prix. This is way beyond our dreams.
“It’s so important for kids out there to see this and know that don’t listen to anybody who tells you you can’t achieve something. Dream the impossible and speak it into existence. You’ve got to work for it, chase it and never give up.”

    TOP 10
Here’s how they finished after a brilliant race in Turkey.

    SEB’S BACK
Vettel on the podium as well. How refreshing to see.

    HAMMER TIME
Hamilton on team radio: “For all the kids out there who dream the impeccable, you can do it too just believe in yourself.”
He sounds emotional, too, and why wouldn’t he be?

    HAMILTON WINS!
Lewis Hamilton is a seven-time world champion.
One of his best race wins of the season.
Stunning driving from a stunning champion – one of Britain’s finest ever.

    LAP 57
No, Hamilton overrules. He’s staying out.

    LAP 56
Hamilton told that rain is expected to hit turn 8.
And the Brit responds to say that these tyres won’t work if there’s rain.
Mercedes are in the pit lane to get him an insurance stop.

    LAP 54
A little bit of rain here would put a spanner in the works for Hamilton.
Time for an insurance pit stop?

    LAP 53
Rain possibly on the way? It will have to be quick to make a difference here.
Hamilton from Perez, Leclerc in third, Vettel fourth, Sainz fifth.

    LAP 51
Seven laps to go and it looks like Hamilton and Perez are taking these intermediate tyres all the way.
Their tyres are basically slicks now with no grip left for the water.
It there’s any more rain they might have a sticky final few laps.

    LAP 48
Mercedes solve the problem by boxing Bottas for new tyres.
    His looked very worn.
Hamilton is 19 seconds ahead of Perez in second now. That’s almost a full pit stop.

    LAP 46
Hamilton on team radio says Bottas has blue flags, someone might want to tell him to get out of my way.
Slightly amusing… but not for Bottas I’m sure.

    LAP 44
Hamilton has a whole pitstop advantage now to Leclerc in third so is looking very good for the win here.
He was frustrated for most of the afternoon and is now 16 seconds clear of second place Perez.
What must Racing Point be thinking? They had a 1/2 on the cards and now might have to settle for one podium.
