    MATCH REPORT
Plenty to talk about from today’s game, after Jose Mourinho celebrated a year in charge of Spurs with a huge victory against Manchester City that sends his side to the top of the Premier League table.
CLICK HERE TO READ THE MATCH REPORT FROM TODAY’S GAME.

    PEP’S REACTION
This is what Pep has to say to today’s defeat:
“The perfect scenario for them, to concede a goal after five or six minutes when we knew that Kane drops and Bergwijn and Son run in behind and we have to defend better and it was a perfect scenario for them and after that they defended so deep.”

    JOSE’S ANALYSIS
Here are the full time thoughts of Jose Mourinho:
“It’s not me, I’d prefer the players to speak because they are the ones, they were fantastic.
“They gave everything, they followed a strategy and football sometimes, now more than ever, strategy plays an important part, and they were amazing.
“This guy Harry Kane represents the spirit of the other guys, the way he works for the team is the same way the others do it.
“It was very important to respect them, and not forget the team that they are.
“If we follow people speaking about them not being as good as before, if we follow the fake table because they have one match in hand then we would probably play in a different way.
“But against these guys we all know how Pep teams are and the quality of the players we defined the way to play and it was magnificent to see them do what they did, so super congratulations to the players.”

    ACTION AREAS
Here’s a look at the full time action areas.
City dominated possession, and had 22 shots, compared to just 4 Tottenham shots, but in the end it is the home side that come away with the three points.

    KEV’S REACTION
Kevin De Bruyne has this to say following the defeat:
“I think we played well but we missed that cutting edge.
“To keep Tottenham to about three or four chances that’s quite good, but yeah obviously if you’re not sharp enough in front of goal with what is happening lately then it’s tough.
“Obviously it’s been up and down with the players coming in and going out so it’s very difficult to come back from injuries and be sharp directly, so if there are a lot of changes, a lot of people coming in [and] coming out so it’s difficult to find the consistency.
“I think the first two thirds of the pitch we played really well, needs to be a little bit sharper but I guess that will come and hopefully sooner rather than later.”

“I don’t know the rules anymore to be honest” 🤔

    HARRY’S THOUGHTS
Here are the thoughts from the man of the match Harry Kane:
“Fantastic performance, we knew it was obviously going to be a tough game, Man City are a great team who use the ball really well.
“But yeah we had a game plan to defend as a unit, in that kind of a mid block, obviously sometimes it went into a bit of a low block.
“I thought everyone worked their socks off today and yeah we took our chances.
“Obviously Sonny with a great finish early on and then we knew that in the second half that the chances would be available, thankfully we took one towards the end.”

“We had a game plan to defend as a unit” 💪

The onrushing Carvajal brings the ball down well and drives towards goal, he takes one touch too many and just as he gets the shot off Pedraza was back in time to give him a slight knock to put him off.

TOTTENHAM can head top of the Premier League with a win over today’s opponents Manchester City, something manager Jose Mourinho will be absolutely pining for.

Tottenham vs Man City will get underway at 5.30pm on Saturday, November 21.
The game will take place at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium where Spurs beat City 2-0 last season.
There will be no fans in attendance.

What channel is it and can it be live streamed?
Tottenham vs Man City will be available to watch live on Sky Sports Football and Sky Sports Premier League.

    What is the team news?
City go into the game with a few fitness doubts following the international break.
Pep Guardiola will speak at a news conference on Friday but Sergio Aguero, Fernandinho and Benjamin Mendy are injured while Nathan Ake and Raheem Sterling picked up knocks on duty.

    GOOD AFTERNOON
Welcome to our live blog of Tottenham against Manchester City in the Premier League.
Jose Mourinho celebrated a year in charge of Spurs earlier this week, and a win this evening would take his side to the top of the Premier League table.
Spurs come into the game in a great run of form, having not lost in the league since September 13th.
Harry Kane has had a blistering start to the season, scoring seven and assisting eight, and building a formidable partnership with Son Heung-Min.
Meanwhile Pep Guardiola signed a two year extension with City in the week, stating that he still has unfinished business with the Cityzens.
It’s been a somewhat indifferent start to the season for City, suffering a humiliating 5-2 home defeat to Leicester and drawing with West Ham.
City are currently tenth in the table, but a win today would take Guardiola’s side two points off the top four.
The game is a mouthwatering clash on paper, and a win for Spurs would lay down a marker that they could mount a serious title challenge this season.
In teams news Sergio Aguero, Fernandinho and Benjamin Mendy are out for Man City, while Nathan Ake and Raheem Sterling picked up knocks on international duty.
Meanwhile Matt Doherty is out for Spurs after testing positive for Covid-19 on international duty.
Kick off is at 5.30pm and team news will follow shortly.

Newcastle vs Chelsea LIVE REACTION: Abraham doubles Blues’ lead after Fernandez own goal

CHELSEA swept Newcastle aside after the Premier League returned following an international break.
Federico Fernandez’s unfortunate own goal put the Blues ahead after just 10 minutes before Tammy Abraham doubled the visitors’ lead just after the hour mark.

FINAL SCORE: Newcastle 0-2 Chelsea (Fernandez OG 10, Abraham 65)

    THAT’S ALL FOLKS
I don’t think Chelsea will have a easier game all season. They were in complete control from minute one.
It was an own goal from Fernandez which put Chelsea in an early 10 minute lead after he poked home a cross fizzed into the box from the right hand side.
The Blues would continue their dominance clocking up around 80% possession but the only thing missing was the second goal.
Newcastle did come out in the second half with a bit more purpose but if it wasn’t for a mixture of excellent saves and squandered opportunities, Chelsea would of been out of sight.
Karl Darlow was eventually beaten by a caressed ball into the bottom corner by Tammy Abraham after a Timo Werner mazy run.
The Magpies did come close with a long range effort from Longstaff which came crashing off the bar but nothing more than that.
Chelsea now sit at the summit of the table only ahead of Leicester on goal difference, however, City travel to Liverpool in tomorrow’s mouth watering tie.
Thank you SunSport family for tuning in this afternoon.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

    BLUES GO TOP

    BRUCE’S THOUGHTS
“We got off to an awful start. To concede after 10 minutes makes it even more difficult than it already is.”
“First half in particular, maybe we were a bit too passive. Second half was much better but obviously you then open yourself up a bit and you chase the game higher up the pitch and unfortunately they pick you off.”
“The best spell in the game is where we unfortunately conceded the second one.”
“In terms of possession, they had possession and they had another big chance but we had one or two opportunities but didn’t quite take them.”
“They’re a very, very good side and as I said, when you go higher up the pitch against them, they can expose you at the other end.”
“It was a difficult afternoon and at the end of the day, Chelsea are a very, very good team.”

    JOE COLE’S THOUGHTS
Former Chelsea team-mate Joe Cole giving the Chelsea boss the praise he deserves.

“The biggest credit you can pay Frank, you can see his personality on the team.”

    — Football on BT Sport (@btsportfootball) November 21, 2020

    LAMPARD’S THOUGHTS
“We played well. It’s not an easy game coming here against a very organised team and it was great to get the early goal because it changes the whole aspects of it.”
“The second one was then so important and obviously we had chances to get that earlier and even after that we could of maybe scored again but you know, we can’t have it all our own way.”
“I thought the first 20 minutes we were great because we had control and we had penetration. We had people running in behind, we were getting to the side and making crosses but I think that sort of danger or control becomes comfort which is dangerous.”
” I understand the players can sometimes become comfortable but that is lessons where we can get better.”
“You need to stay humble when you go top and know that it’s a long race.”

    ON THE MEND
No goalkeeper has kept more clean sheets this season than Mendy.
    Incredible signing for Chelsea.

    MOTM ABRAHAM’S THOUGHTS
“Fantastic result, we dug deep. Coming here is never a easy place to come and get three points but we did that today. It was 1-0 for a very long time. “
“They created a few chances and so did we but we defended well and got the second goal.”
“We didn’t let the international break distract us. We had to come out all guns blazing and that’s what we did today and like I said, it was a massive three points.”
“Them games are tricky, always tricky. When you’re 1-0 up and you can’t get that second goal and they’ve created a few chances, it’s very easy to drop your head and lose confidence but we didn’t do that.”
“We knew we’re quick on counter attacks so I got myself forward and I was tired but I had to stay in control and pass it through the keeper which it what I done and killed the game off thankfully.”

    WONDERFUL WERNER
I know I said it earlier, but what an assist!

    GAME SET AND MATCH
Good win on the road for the Blues.

    PEEEEEEEEP!
    ANOTHER VICTORY!
    ANOTHER CLEAN SHEET!
    FT NEWCASTLE 0-2 CHELSEA

    NEWCASTLE 0-2 CHELSEA
    90+2. OOOOF THAT WAS CLOSE!
Carroll would of got his first goal in two years if it wasn’t for the boot of Kurt Zouma.

THREE MINUTES OF STOPPAGE TIME ADDED

    NEWCASTLE 0-2 CHELSEA
    87. No they can’t.
Poor freekick in truth and Zouma gets rid of it so easily.

    NEWCASTLE 0-2 CHELSEA
    87. Freeckick for the Magpies.
Can they get a late goal to make a nervy end to the game?

    NEWCASTLE 0-2 CHELSEA
    86. Ziyech makes way for Olivier Giroud in a change from Chelsea.
The French international will want to improve his impressive record against Newcastle

    NEWCASTLE 0-2 CHELSEA
    84. Newcastle had a throw-in, in Chelsea’s half but it ended up going right back to their own goalkeeper.
That just sums up how they have been performing so far.
    Lack of belief.

    NEWCASTLE 0-2 CHELSEA
    82. Chelsea looking for that third.
Good build up play from the Blues but a deflected cross goes out for a corner which Mount strolls over to take.
No need to rush of course.

    WRIGHTY’S THOUGHTS
Ian Wright loving what he is seeing today.

    NEWCASTLE 0-2 CHELSEA
    78. GOOD SAVE MENDY!
Almiron with a deflected shot that looked as if it was going wide anyway but the keeper didn’t want to take any chances.

    NEWCASTLE 0-2 CHELSEA
    77. That was Werner’s last bit of action as Lampard takes him off for Callum Hudson-Odoi.
No goal for the Chelsea forward today but he can have a well deserved rest.

    NEWCASTLE 0-2 CHELSEA
    76. No it’s not going to count.
VAR quickly rule it out for offside and rightfully so.

    GOAAAAAAAAL!
    WERNER FINALLY!
    OR IS IT?..

    NEWCASTLE 0-2 CHELSEA
    73. Last roll of the dice for Steve Bruce.
Andy Carroll who is yet to score in his second spell for the club comes on for Saint-Maximin.
    Can he make a difference?

    NEWCASTLE 0-2 CHELSEA
    71. OFF THE BAR!
The corner was taken quickly and made it’s way to Longstaff who went for a long range screamer but luckily for Mendy, it came off the bar.
That would of been a cracker of a goal.

    NEWCASTLE 0-2 CHELSEA
    70. Newcastle have no choice but to go for it now.
Murphy tried to put in a cross but it is blocked and goes out for a corner.

ENGLAND brought down the curtain on their unsuccessful UEFA Nations League campaign with a glossy 4-0 win over Iceland at Wembley.
Phil Foden scored twice while Declan Rice and Mason Mount nabbed one each on a night where Gareth Southgate’s younger players proved their worth to the Three Lions.

    GOODNIGHT FROM WEMBLEY
It’s far too late for these youngsters to be up on a school night anyway!
On a memorable evening at Wembley, England’s youthful lions hit Iceland for four to end their Nations League campaign on a high.
Each goal was scored by players 21 years of age or younger, and featured first international strikes for both Declan Rice and Phil Foden.
The Manchester City man, in particular, was magnificent, laying on England’s opener for Rice before bagging two for himself late on.
In between, Mason Mount, who revelled in a forward role, showed composure beyond his years to net while Jack Grealish again proved himself adept on the international stage.
Admittedly, Iceland were poor, understrength and weakened by the 54th minute sending-off of Birkier Saevarsson, but nevertheless, England impressed as they signed off on a challenging year with a comprehensive win.
The victory brings the end of this extended international break, but we’ll be back with more football when the Premier League returns on Saturday.
Until then, thanks for reading and goodbye.

    100 UP FOR SOUTHGATE
England’s fourth goal this evening – thumped in by Phil Foden – was the 100th scored by the national team under Gareth Southgate’s leadership. The first came in October 2016 with Southgate as caretaker boss, and was scored by Daniel Sturridge against Malta.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 England’s final goal tonight was the 100th under Gareth Southgate – Harry Kane scored 27 of those goals, whilst 18 (including all 4 tonight) were scored by players aged 21 or under pic.twitter.com/5IPyu2626i

    SOUTHGATE SPEAKS
England manager Gareth Southgate has been talking post-match, and hit back at those who had labelled this game irrelevant.
“For the last three days, the mentality has been outstanding.
“All the players were hearing was this game was meaningless and there was nothing to play for.
“But whenever you play for England, there’s something to play for.
“There were big opportunities for young players especially – but also for some older players.
“We’re trying to build and improve all the time. There was some lovely football, it was good to watch and for the young ones to get the goals was very special for them.”

‘The reality is that a lot of the squad are going to peak in 3-5 years time.’ 📈

“I just couldn’t stop smiling after it. It’s an unbelievable feeling and I’m going to enjoy it as much as I can tonight.
“I know Jadon [Sancho] well from playing with him in the youth team. When he got the ball, I arrived in the box and he gave me a good assist. Luckily it went in.
“When you score, confidence is high and I took the second goal well.
“It’s something I need to work on, scoring goals from outside the box, so I’m really happy with that one.”

    FODEN FINDS THE NET
Phil Foden sweeps home his first international goal, and then went on to score his second less than four minutes later.

    BIG FUTURE FOR PHIL
Manchester City’s Phil Foden bagged his first international goals to cap an impressive evening, and will now be anticipating more playing time for club and country in the months to come.

    FT: ENGLAND 4-0 ICELAND
England’s youngsters excel at Wembley with two goals in each half. Declan Rice’s header and Mason Mount’s strike are followed up by Phil Foden’s late double; his first goals for his country.

    PEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!
    THE FINAL WHISTLE IS BLOWN!

    ENGLAND 4-0 ICELAND
    90. As Foden shows off his skills on the touchline, three minutes of added time are signalled.

    ENGLAND 4-0 ICELAND
    89. England are pushing for a fifth, and should have it.
Unmarked at the far post, Saka heads wide.
The Arsenal teenager looked as surprised as anyone to find himself in that position.

    ENGLAND 4-0 ICELAND
    88. On a night where youth has excelled, Iceland throw on the 17-year-old son of former Aston Villa headcase Joey Gudjonsson.
Isak BVergmann Johannesson replaces Birker Bjarnason.

    84. What a couple of minutes for the Man City youngster! What a night!
Harry Maguire wins back possession after Iceland fail to fully clear their lines, and then Harry Winks slips the ball to Phil Foden.
There’s still much for the 20-year-old but he digs out a lovely left-footed shot from outside the box that swerves away from Hannes Thor Halldorsson and into the bottom corner.
    Brilliant!
    ENGLAND 4-0 Iceland

    GOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAALLLL!!
    PHIL FODEN BAGS ANOTHER!!

    ENGLAND 3-0 ICELAND
    83. Phil Foden deserves that goal for his performance tonight…

    80. Having set up Declan Rice for a first England goal, Phil Foden now has his first for his country!
Just off the bench, Jadon Sancho tricks his way down the left, plays a smart one-two with Bukayo Saka, and delivers a low cross to Foden.
Head down over the ball, the Man City forward keeps his cool to sweep a lovely left-footed shot into the far corner beyond Hannes Thor Halldorsson.
    A really well-worked goal.
    ENGLAND 3-0 Iceland

    GOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAALLLL!!
    PHIL FODEN MAKES IT THREE!!

    ENGLAND 2-0 ICELAND
    76. The last act of Harry Kane’s night is to crash a free-kick into the Iceland defensive wall and cry for a penalty that is not forthcoming.
The Tottenham striker makes way for Tammy Abraham after another busy night for his country. I wonder what his club manager will make of these 76 minutes.
Also on is Jadon Sancho for Jack Grealish.

    ENGLAND 2-0 ICELAND
    73. Iceland make two more substitutions.
Jon Dagur Thorsteinsson and Kolbeinn Sigthorsson are on for strikers Albert Gudmundsson and Jon Dadi Bodvarsson..
In the meantime, Jack Grealish has been fouled.

    ENGLAND 2-0 ICELAND
    72. At least referee Fabio Verissimo is keeping us on our toes.
The Portugues official can’t wait to whip his yellow card out again after Arnason boots over Grealish.
