Kevin de Bruyne to get ONE assists at huge 60/1 price

    MADE FOR MARTIAL
There were doubts over Anthony Martial’s fitness in the build-up to today’s game but – with Edinson Cavani ruled out through a knock he picked up in training – the return of the forward could not have been timed better.
The Frenchman hasn’t been in the best form lately, but has made a habit of saving his best for the short trip to the Etihad Stadium. Martial has scored in the Premier League away games at City in both 2018-19 and 2019-20.
Only Wayne Rooney (4) and Eric Cantona (3) have scored in more away Manchester derbies for the Red Devils in the Premier League era with only Cantona doing so in three consecutive appearances.

    MANCHESTER UNITED SUBSTITUTES
    13 Grant, 3 Bailly, 11 Greenwood, 19 Diallo, 27 Telles, 31 Matic, 33 Williams, 38 Tuanzebe, 74 Shoretire

    MANCHESTER UNITED XI
It’s four changes for Manchester United after the bore draw at Crystal Palace. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer rotates Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly again with the former starting alongside Harry Maguire this afternoon. In midfield, Scott McTominay replaces Nemanja Matic while Dan James gets the nod over Mason Greenwood on the right. Up front, Anthony Martial has won his battle with a knee problem and starts at the top of a 4-2-3-1 in place of the absent Edinson Cavani.
    26 Henderson; 29 Wan-Bissaka, 2 Lindelof, 5 Maguire, 23 Shaw; 39 McTominay, 17 Fred; 21 James, 18 Fernandes, 10 Rashford; 9 Martial

    MANCHESTER CITY SUBSTITUTES
    13 Steffen, 2 Walker, 10 Aguero, 14 Laporte, 20 Silva, 21 Torres, 22 Mendy, 25 Fernandinho, 47 Foden

    MANCHESTER CITY XI
Pep Guardiola makes three changes to the team that clocked up a 21st straight win against Wolverhampton Wanderers in midweek. Oleksandr Zinchenko and John Stones return to the defence with Kyle Walker and Aymeric Laporte dropping to the bench; Zinchenko’s inclusion at left-back sees Joao Cancelo shift over to the right. In midfielder, Bernardo Silva misses out to allow for Ilkay Gundogan spot in the starting XI. Gabriel Jesus continues in the striker’s role so there’s no false nine this afternoon in City’s 4-3-3 formation.
    31 Ederson; 27 Cancelo, 3 Dias, 5 Stones, 11 Zinchenko; 8 Gundogan, 16 Rodrigo, 17 De Bruyne; 26 Mahrez, 9 Jesus, 7 Sterling

    THE TEAMSHEETS ARE IN!

    CITY SLICKERS
Manchester City are unbeaten in 28 games in all competitions since losing 2-0 at Tottenham in November. If they avoid defeat today, they will set a new club record for games without defeat.
The Citizens have also won each of their last 21 matches, the third ever longest run in all competitions among teams in the big five European leagues.

    CLEAN SHEET CITY
Manchester City have twice kept Bruno Fernandes and company at bay in their derby matches this campaign, keeping clean sheets in the goalless draw at Old Trafford in the Premier League back in December as well as their 2-0 EFL Cup success earlier this year.
The last team to record three shutouts against the Red Devils within a single season was Arsenal in 1998-99 when they faced their old rivals on five separate occasions.

    BITTTER NIL-NILS TO SWALLOW
Manchester United’s last three matches have been tough viewing for their fans, and an ever harder watch for the neutral – not to mention us live bloggers.
The Red Devils have served up dreary goalless draws with Crystal Palace and Chelsea in the Premier League, while the second leg of their Round of 32 tie with Real Sociedad in the Europa League also finished 0-0.
United have never registered four goalless draws in succession, while the last Premier League club to do so was Tottenham all the way back in February 2001.

    WELCOME TO MANCHESTER
We’re at the Etihad Stadium for SunSport’s live coverage of Manchester City versus Manchester United in the Premier League.
It’s blue against red. It’s first against third. It’s the winning streak against the unbeaten run on the road.
A month ago, this fixture had all the makings of a title showdown, but such has been City’s dominance in 2021 that even a United success this afternoon is unlikely to stop Pep Guardiola’s men lifting the trophy come May.
However, a third successive derby win at the home of their rivals will ensure temporary bragging rights for the Red Devils, extend their record undefeated away run, and propel them back up to second in their pursuit of Champions League football.
David de Gea is absent again as he awaits the birth of his child in Spain, so Dean Henderson is likely to start back-to-back league games in the United goal for the first time.
There is also a doubt over Anthony Martial’s involvement as the forward battles with a knee problem, but the better news for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is that Paul Pogba is back in contention.
City have clocked up a sensational 21 straight wins in all competitions – already an English record – and a 22nd against their near neighbours would not only be the sweetest of the lot, but would move them 15 points clear at the summit.
Even more worrying for the rest of the Premier League is the realisation that Guardiola’s squad is now at full strength for the first time this season following the recent returns of Kevin De Bruyne, Sergio Aguero and Nathan Ake.
We’ll have confirmation of today’s teams shortly before the Manchester derby gets underway at 4.30pm.

Pep Guardiola and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer go head-to-head in the Manchester derby.

Jamie Carragher has been loud and proud about his praise for former team-mate Steven Gerrard.
Here’s what he said while commentating on the latest Liverpool home defeat.

They must have been terrified for years that the record would have been beaten by Celtic. When Gerrard came in, that was the name of the game to stop Celtic achieving that. They’ve come a long way but they’ll be hoping the glory days are back. He’s done a brilliant job. They were so far behind Celtic when he first came in.I think the European campaigns have been the big boost – certainly financially to help him reinvest in the squad.

    OH MO
Liverpool star Mo Salah gave the ball away and Fulham’s Mario Lemina took full advantage to rifle home past Alisson.

    LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN
Steven Gerrard has won the first league title of his career as manager of Rangers.
With Celtic only able to draw 0-0 with St Mirren, Gerrard’s side were crowned SPL champs for the first time in a decade.

    BLUE MOON
Chelsea are reportedly set to offer contract extensions to both Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.
The centre-backs have become key players under Thomas Tuchel since he replaced Frank Lampard at Stamford Bridge, with the German huge fans of both men.
Rudiger, 28, has started every game under the German gaffer, while Christensen, 24, has featured in five out of the last six Premier League matches.
And with the pair’s contracts to expire in 2022, it has been claimed that the Blues are keen to tie them down to new deals.
According to the Telegraph, Chelsea are planning to offer Christensen a new contract, though talks are yet to take place.
They state that the West London outfit are keen to extend the Denmark international’s stay as they are aware clubs are monitoring his situation.
And Football Insider have revealed that Chelsea are in the process of offering Rudiger a long-term deal ahead of the summer.

    BRU UP A STORM
Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has been criticised by Roy Keane for his ‘disrespectful’ body language.

Roy Keane took aim at Bruno Fernandes
Keane told Sky Sports ahead of the Manchester derby: “We’ve seen him taken off in a few of the games and his body language has not been great.
“There’s nothing wrong with being taken off and shaking your head for ten seconds.
“But if you’re walking off and a team-mate is coming on, and you’re throwing your arms up in the air, that’s disrespectful to your team-mate.
“And we’re on about a leader.
“If I was coming on and the player was shaking his head, almost disrespecting him, saying ‘I’m coming off for you?’, you’d have a quiet word with him in the dressing room.
“And he’s done it a number of times, so he’s on about maturity and showing respect to your team-mates, well show respect if you have a bad game and don’t be throwing your arms up in the air every two minutes.”

    REAL DEAL
Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti is reportedly interested in bringing Real Madrid pair Lucas Vazquez and Isco to Goodison Park.
The duo were both at the Bernabeu when Ancelotti was manager between 2013 and 2015.

Everton are after Real Madrid pair Isco and Lucas VazquezCredit: AFP – Getty
According to Defensa Central, the Everton boss wants to sign Vazquez and Isco to persuade James Rodriguez to stay on Merseyside.
The Colombia international is rumoured to be unhappy at Everton and wants to leave.
It is said he does not like the weather or the physicality of the Premier League.
Rodriguez has rejected the possibility of a return to Real Madrid, claiming that ‘nobody’ wants him there.

    FER REAL
Bruno Fernandes lifted the lid on what he thinks is the key to beating Manchester City in today’s derby at the Etihad.
The Portuguese midfielder told the club’s website: “We know it’s always difficult to play against City; we have to do everything good, almost perfection I think.
“The idea of the football they play is easy to understand but it’s difficult to play against.
“Everyone understands the way they play, they want to have the ball, they want to put pressure on and when they lose it they try to win it straight away.
“Everyone knows that, but it’s difficult to play against and difficult to win the ball and have some possession for a long time against them.
“But I think we have to understand what we can do against that type of game and what we can do better to win the game. We all know it’s difficult for us, but it will be difficult them in the same way.”

    SPEND ON ART
Arsenal have to back Mikel Arteta with funds in the transfer window, says Martin Keown.
The former Gunner argues Arsenal are in a transition phase so Arteta needs money to strengthen all the areas required.
On BT Sport, Keown said: “It was a disastrous start to the season – 14 points from 14 games. They’ve lost 11 games already this season. We are in a rebuilding process.
“Now there is a nucleus of youngsters at Arsenal that they’re relying heavily on. There are some good players. We need to give them a chance.
“I feel if Smith-Rowe was fit today, Odegaard would not be playing. It does point to the direction that the manager wants to go.
“He wants to play this total football style of play, with people who are really technically very gifted.
“There’s no doubt he can do that, Odegaard. Today’s a really big opportunity for him to stamp his future on this football club.”

    NO MOUR OF THAT
Jose Mourinho produced a brutal stats sheet to slate Kevin De Bruyne’s performances at Chelsea, the midfielder has revealed.
De Bruyne told Sky Sports: “There was so much in the press about my relationship with Jose Mourinho.
“But the truth is that I only ever spoke to him twice. The plan was always for me to go on loan for a bit.
“Jose called me into his office in December, and it was probably the second big life-changing moment for me.
“He had some papers in front of him, and he said, ‘One assist. Zero goals. Ten recoveries’.
“It took me a minute to understand what he was doing. Then he started reading the stats of the other attacking forwards – Willian, Oscar, [Juan] Mata, [Andre] Schurrle. And it’s like – five goals, ten assists, whatever.
“Jose was just kind of waiting for me to say something, and finally I said, ‘But… some of these guys have played 15, 20 games. I’ve only played three. So it’s going to be different, no?’.
“It was so strange. I was completely honest. I said, ‘I feel like the club doesn’t really want me here. I want to play football. I’d rather you sell me’.”

    BARC FOR GOOD?
Lionel Messi has voted in the Barcelona presidential election – the outcome of which could desire his future.

    MAN ALIVE
Do any Manchester United players make it into a combined XI with runaway Prem leaders City?

    MO GO – EXCLUSIVE
Blackburn are ready to go foreign if they decide to dump Tony Mowbray as boss.
Owners Venkys and advisers have been looking into a new direction as they review the four-year stint of Mowbray.
They have been on a poor run of results, and the club want to see where it has all gone wrong.
The success of young up-and-coming coaches from abroad — such as Barnsley’s Valerian Ismail — have put them on alert.
This suggests Rovers could look for a foreign boss in their bid to return to the Premier League.
Mowbray had a reprieve yesterday with a 2-0 win at Millwall after goals from Bradley Dack and Sam Gallagher.
But they are still only 15th in the Championship, and had plans of pushing for a promotion spot this campaign.

    LAZT TO LEAVE
Chelsea star Olivier Giroud almost joined Lazio last summer, his Italian representative has revealed.
The 34-year-old is said to have stayed at Stamford Bridge because the Blues could not find a replacement.

Olivier Giroud was headed for the Chelsea exit door last summerCredit: Reuters
In an interview with Italian newspaper Tuttosport, Vincenzo Morabito, who has been working with Giroud’s agent Michael Manuello on a move to Italy, said: “Giroud was one step away from Lazio a year ago.
“If Napoli had sold [Dries] Mertens to Chelsea, the Frenchman would have become Biancoceleste.”
Morabito’s comments suggest Giroud may join an Italian club this summer.
He is out of contract at the end of the season and it seems likely he will leave Chelsea.

    RAZOR BLADES – EXCLUSIVE
Sheffield United’s money men will save a fortune if they wait to sack Chris Wilder AFTER relegation.
The Blades are making a painful return to the Championship after a horror season, with Wilder’s future now in doubt.
But the popular boss is cheaper to pay off when his salary drops back to second-tier level from his current Prem salary.
And that may mean Wilder’s fate is not decided until the Bramall Lane outfit are down when his terms take a hit, too.
Wilder has been a huge success at Blades, taking them from League One to the Prem in his reign.
But both parties look set to agree it is time for a change in the summer.

    RAB GRAB
Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot is a transfer target for Manchester City and Everton, according to reports.
The Premier League leaders are said to be keen on the 25-year-old, but it is unlikely he will leave the Italian champions this summer.

Adrien Rabiot is attracting plenty of Prem interestCredit: Getty Images – Getty
In an interview with Italian newspaper Tuttosport, agent Vincenzo Morabito, who was involved in Bobby Duncan’s high-profile youth move from Liverpool to Fiorentina in 2019, said: “The Frenchman is on Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City goal list.
“But he will not leave Juventus.”
Despite Morabito’s comments, it is believed Juventus will accept a £26million offer for Rabiot this summer.
If City do pursue a move for the midfielder, they may face stiff competition from Everton.
The Toffees tried to sign Rabiot last summer and they continue to be linked with a move.

    FULL OF HART
Arsenal have reportedly offered a new contract to starlet Kido Taylor-Hart as they look to fend off interest from abroad.
The highly-rated academy winger’s scholarship deal expires at the end of the season, but the club are determined to keep him in North London.
Taylor-Hart, 18, has impressed this season for Arsenal – chipping in with six goals and four assists in nine matches for the U18’s.
And he scored his second for the U23s on Friday in the 2-2 draw against Southampton in what was his ninth game of the campaign for Steve Bould’s side.
Likened to Bayern Munich ace Leroy Sane due to his blistering speed, the teenager is understood to have no shortage of admirers should he depart Hale End.
According to Football.London, clubs from Germany, Belgium, Holland as well as in England are keen to snap the forward up.
But they claim that Arsenal are looking to tie him down by offering the player a first professional contract.

    LIKE YOUR KYLE
Celtic are closing in on a deal to sign Kyle Joseph from Wigan, reports say.
The Scotland Under-19 international’s contract expires in June and he has plenty of clubs interested in signing him on a free.

As a result, he has not extended his contract, instead choosing to explore his options.
According to the Daily Mail, Celtic are set to conclude a pre-contract which will bring the forward to Scotland.
Tottenham and Arsenal were among those linked with the teen, who has five goals in 16 games so far this season.

    FERGIE’S FEAR
Sir Alex Ferguson feared he may never speak again after suffering a brain haemorrhage in 2018.
The legendary Manchester United boss also worried he would lose his memory and be able to recall the highlights of his glittering career at Old Trafford.
Speaking at the premiere of his new documentary at the Glasgow Film Festival on Sunday, Fergie said: “And everything was going through my mind: is my memory going to come back? Am I ever going to speak again?”
Thankfully, the 79-year-old regained his voice with the help of a speech therapist in ten days – meaning he was once again able to dish out the hairdryer treatment if needed.

    I’VE JOT YA
Diogo Jota is keen to spearhead the rescue mission that can turn Anfield into home sweet home again.
The £45million Portuguese frontman is poised to start his first game in three months following the knee injury that coincided with the Premier League champs’ slump.
During his time away, Jurgen Klopp’s side plunged from top spot into a battle just to make the top four.
Having watched the roof fall in, Jota, 24, said: “We need to stay together and push from the same side.
“I hope that coming back will, let’s say, bring some freshness.
“I feel like I could be like a winter transfer.
“That’s what I hope, so they can rely on me and think I can help them in the future.”

    HANS ON
Bayern Munich confirmed their interest in Erling Haaland as manager Hansi Flick admitted a transfer is ‘very much possible’.
Star striker Haaland has emerged as one of the hottest commodities in Europe, and put it on full display against the German champions.

He scored twice in nine minutes to stun Bayern into an early deficit.
But the match ended 4-2, thanks to a hat-trick from hitman Robert Lewandowski – who himself swapped Dortmund for Bayern.
His manager Flick was asked about Haaland one day replacing Lewandowski, with a deal far from out the picture.
He told Sky Germany before the game: “Very, very much is possible in life, nothing can be ruled out.
“But that is a long way off. He has a long-term contract in Dortmund and is an option for many top clubs.”

    STOP N’GO
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel revealed N’Golo Kante will NOT play 90 minutes against Everton as he provided an injury update.
The Frenchman returned to the squad at the end of January having been sidelined with a hamstring problem.
He has started the Blues’ last three matches and was a key figure in their away trip at Liverpool, providing the assist for Mason Mount’s winner.
Tuchel confirmed the 29-year-old will have some form of rest and said: “This is unbelievable and we see his intensity in the physical report after matches and we think maybe they tracked two people and put it into one sheet.
“It is unbelievable what he delivers in terms of intensity and ball recoveries and of devotion for a group.
“This is world class, the highest level, and we are very happy he is in our squad. He comes from injury.
“He will not play now all games 90 minutes before we arrive at the international break. We have to manage him.”

    TOUGH GLOVE
Dean Henderson has been warned he has the toughest job in football – but Manchester United skipper Harry Maguire has no doubts the keeper is ready to take a golden chance to establish himself as the club’s No 1.
Henderson, 23, who has played for United 14 times this season, will get a run of games after David De Gea returned to Spain for the birth of his daughter, and will be forced to quarantine when returning.
Maguire said: “Being a goalkeeper is an unforgiving place, especially when you play for Manchester United.
“It is probably the most scrutinised position in English football, maybe world football. And probably closely followed by the centre-backs!
“When you play for this club you have to like the pressure. He has the personality to do that, Deano.
“He will see this as an opportunity. Obviously I don’t want to put pressure on him but he’s a top keeper and he’s a lad who does not lack confidence!
“He knows it’s an opportunity and sometimes you have to take it. It is fantastic we have David with his experience and Deano is coming through. We have two very, very good keepers fighting for one place.”

    ‘STATS NOT EVERYTHING’
Bruno Fernandes has hit back at claims he falls short against the Premier League heavyweights.
Manchester United midfielder Fernandes has 15 league goals this season, but only two have come against the so-called Big Six and Leicester — a penalty against Tottenham and a goal against the Foxes.

Bruno Fernandes said there’s more to football than statsCredit: Getty Images – Getty
He said: “I know people expect Bruno to score or assist in every game because when I arrived, I was playing really well.
“I want to do that, it’s the most important thing. But as a player, I don’t look for the Big Six or the rest of the league.I look at every game the same way.”
He told Sky Sports: “I saw an interview from Luke (Shaw) saying ‘people now care more about stats than the performance’.
“This is the truth. Because now they’re expecting from me just goals and assists and not performances.
“I don’t need to see the stats to see if I play well or not. I know when I play well or not.”

    GOOD MORNING FOOTBALL FANS
This month’s South American World Cup Qualifiers have been postponed due to coronavirus travel restrictions.
The pandemic has created a logistical nightmare in terms of flying players in and out of different countries.
On Saturday, the South American football confederation, Conmebol, confirmed the decision to axe the fixtures.
A statement read: “The Conmebol Council has decided to suspend the double-header of Qatar 2022 qualifiers scheduled for March.
“The decision is due to the impossibility of receiving all South American players in a timely manner.
“Fifa will work on the rescheduling of the date, in coordination with Conmebol and the member associations. Soon, the different options for holding the matches will be studied.”
Meanwhile, on the transfer front, Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly willing to pay David Alaba’s £400,000-a-week wages when he becomes a free agent this summer.
The Bayern Munich defender’s contract is up at the end of the season and he is rumoured to be turning heads across Europe.
And while PSG are hoping they can secure his signature by facilitating his wage demands, AS believe the Austrian is waiting on interest from Chelsea and Real Madrid.
And finally, Gareth Southgate is reportedly considering a call-up for Aston Villa’s Matt Targett.
The England boss has been impressed with the 25-year-old’s form for Dean Smith’s side and is weighing up whether to include him, according to The Mirror.

    DON’T SKIP A BEAT
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants Manchester United to be a team of leaders — not just Bruno Fernandes, writes PHIL THOMAS.
The Portugal midfielder, 26, has been the Red Devils’ star man this term.
Yet even he has shown signs of fatigue of late and opponents have started singling him out as the man to keep quiet.
Now, ahead of today’s Manchester derby, the United boss urged the rest of his players to step up.
Solskjaer said: “We expect everyone to be a leader, everyone to take that responsibility.
“Of course it might be Bruno, but I know teams are trying to man-mark him at times.
“Taking responsibility is important for everyone. Don’t wait for things to happen, you’ve got to make things happen.”

Juventus 3 Lazio 1 LIVE REACTION: Rabiot and Morata net as Old Lady fight back from behind to keep title dream alive

JUVENTUS kept their slim Serie A title challenge alive with a comeback victory over Lazio.

    THAT’S ALL FROM TURIN
Juventus picked up an important 3-1 victory over Lazio at home largely without star man Cristiano Ronaldo.
Juve struggled throughout the first half and saw Dejan Kulusevski’s careless error leading to the visitors’ opener.
Kulusevski gave the ball away in midfield and Joaquin Correa picked it up to drive it all the way to the hosts’ box and beat Wojciech Szczesny with ease after just 14 minutes.
The Bianconeri were in tatters throughout the first 45 minutes but still managed to equalise with Adrien Rabiot’s beautiful finish from a tight angle just six minutes before half-time.
Juventus improved in the second half and turned things around in just three minutes thanks to a brace by Alvaro Morata, who also set Rabiot’s goal up.
Morata beat Lazio goalkeeper Pepe Reina with a magnificent shot in the 57th minute and sealed the big win from the penalty spot at the hour-mark

    PIRLO REACTS
Juventus manager Andrea Pirlo praised his players’ spirit following a dramatic comeback in the second half.
Pirlo told DAZN: “We started badly and conceded with our poor backpass, but then there was a strong reaction from the whole team, despite missing so many players.
“We didn’t let our heads drop, we started to step up the tempo and that was the most important thing.
“We thought about Tuesday’s game, we have some players who have barely trained, like Cuadrado and Arthur. We knew tonight was like a final, some had to play in new positions and showed great professionalism and spirit of sacrifice.”
“The most important thing was the three points. Danilo was ready to work in central midfield, while Bernardeschi deserves all the compliments for playing as a left-back.
“What I liked the most was the reaction of the team, as we didn’t accept being behind in such a delicate and important game, so it was that spirit I appreciated.
“We started the game 20 minutes late tonight… It can happen, because some players were returning, others were in new positions, and it’s tough to get back into it after going behind to a Lazio side who have been together for years and had all week to prepare.”

    GETTY IMAGES

    INZAGHI REACTS
Lazio manager Simone Inzaghi believes his team deserved more and shouldn’t have wasted so many chances when they had the lead in the first half.
Inzaghi told DAZN: “It’s difficult to comment on a 3-1 result after that game, but evidently what we do isn’t enough and we have to do more.
“This defeat hurts, as we were 1-0 up, doing very well, hit the bar when it was 1-1, then conceded a counter-attack in the Juventus Stadium from our own move.
“We deserved far more, I think we controlled much of the game, but we need to do more. We mustn’t give up, we have to keep believing in what we do and start to get players back, because there’s a long way to go.
“Clearly, we are running behind schedule, but we had sprinted to make up lost ground, then missed some important players. We have to keep going and not lose our confidence.”

But the Bianconeri fought back and equalised with a beautiful shot from Adrien Rabiot, who beat Pepe Reina at a tight angle from the left just six minutes before half-time.
Juventus showed immense improvement in the second half and turned things around with Alvaro Morata, who netted a brace within a mere three minutes.

    GOOD AFTERNOON

Today’s Der Klassiker is important for the home side, as they need to win to remain about title challengers RB Leipzig who are one point behind in the Bundesliga table.
Avoiding defeat will keep Hansi Flick’s side two or more points above Leipzig.
Equally, a win for Borussia Dortmund keeps their Champions League hopes alive with Edin Terzic’s side sat in 5th, four points behind 4th place Eintracht Frankfurt.
Dortmund have managed to bounce back from their poor run with four consecutive wins across all competitions.
With Terzic’s side’s last win coming against Borussia Monchengladbach in the DFB-Pokal.
In terms of team news, Bayern Munich have some first-team stars making their way back from injury.
Right-back Benjamin Pavard has returned after recovering from covid-19, but today’s game might come too soon for a competitive return.
Niklas Sule, a natural centre-back, will most likely fill in at right-back for the meantime.
Corentin Tolisso, Douglas Costa, Alexander Nubel and Tanguy Nianzou will all miss out through injury.
And Thomas Muller and Serge Gnarby are looking likely to start after the impact they made from the bench in Bayern’s last game against Koln.
As for Dortmund, they will travel to the Allianz without Manuel Akanji, Axel Witsel and Marcel Schmelzer.
Jadon Sancho is also set to miss out after picking up a knock against Gladbach.
Left-back/Left-winger Raphael Guerreiro could also miss out through injury.
Emre Can is set to partner Mats Hummels in the heart of the defence, with Thomas Delaney providing the defence with some cover in midfield.
The teamsheets are due to be released in half an hour, so don’t go anywhere!

    CLUBS FIRST
Chelsea and Tottenham will reportedly follow in Liverpool’s suit by preventing their players from leaving for international duty if they have to quarantine upon their return.
Under current government coronavirus guidelines, travellers arriving from red list countries have to undergo a mandatory 10-day quarantine period.
Earlier this week, Reds chief Jurgen Klopp revealed he won’t release players if they later have to observe a period of isolation – insisting the club must come first.
And London duo Chelsea and Tottenham have opted to take the same stance as they could end up being without the services of several players.
According to The Telegraph, the Blues will prevent Thiago Silva, Edouard Mendy and Hakim Ziyech from joining the Brazil, Senegal and Morocco squads if there is a risk they’ll have to quarantine.

    APPE DAYS
Liverpool are reportedly edging closer to signing Kylian Mbappe as the tension between Mo Salah and Jurgen Klopp rises.
The Reds are thought to be Real Madrid’s main challenger in the bid to sign the PSG superstar.
And AS reports that after Anfield boss Klopp hooked Salah in the 1-0 defeat against Chelsea in midweek, a move could be accelerated.
The report states that with Liverpool on the slide after suffering five back to back defeats at home for the first time in their history, things have escalated between the German boss and his Egyptian star.
Klopp subbed Salah in the 61st minute – the earliest he has been replaced since September 2017 – which was clearly to the 28-year-old ace’s distaste.
The manager was overheard telling his attacking star to track back before hauling him off.

    TRIPLE THREAT
Man City could land Erling Haaland, Lionel Messi and Jack Grealish this summer, according to sensational reports.
Pep Guardiola’s side are running away with the Premier League title – the Citizens lead second-placed Manchester United by 14 points ahead of Sunday’s derby.
And the club’s star-studded squad is only set to get better with a phenomenal triple swoop on the cards.
The Mail reports suggestions Norwegian hot-shot Haaland, 20, is destined for City have come from ‘some credible sources’.
And with Messi, 33, out of contract this summer, the club appear poised to land the Argentine at the second time of asking with the report stating the ‘conversation is not yet closed’.
Reports this week linked Aston Villa skipper Grealish, 25, with a move to the Etihad and again that appears to have come from ‘good sources’.

    KARI ME HOME
Flop goalkeeper Loris Karius has hinted at ending his Liverpool nightmare with a permanent exit.
The shot stopper is on loan at Union Berlin and is ready to remain in Germany as he looks to put his Anfield woes behind him.
Karius told BILD: “I still have a contract with Liverpool FC until 2022.
“But of course, I can imagine staying in Berlin if everything fits. I’m not just passing through here.
“The mentality of the people and the spirit of the team are good for me. I’m basically a down-to-earth guy. Even though I drive an expensive car.”
The German keeper has only made four Bundesliga appearances this season for Union Berlin with most of his time spent on the bench.

    FULL-TIME
And it’s over at Turf Moor!
it’s ended 1-1 and Mikel Arteta will be fuming!
Not only that his side missed a number of chances, but they were denied a stonewall penalty for a handball on Erik Pieters.
    Terrible result for Arsenal.

    BAILEY’S ON ICE
Man Utd have reportedly already held transfer talks with Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey.
The Red Devils are said to have made contact with the 23-year-old’s representatives in January, according to journalist Jonathan Shrager.
The report states Tottenham and AC Milan were two other clubs who also sounded out the Jamaican star’s availability at the start of the year.
But the Bundesliga ace is believed to be solely focused on performing for Leverkusen for now.
United have sent scouts to watch Bailey play over the last 18 months and he could be a cheaper alternative signing to Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho.
The player’s deal at Leverkusen runs until 2023 and the German club are keen to extend his stay but they face a tough ask to get him to re-sign.

    BARC-ING MAD
Barcelona ave the highest wage bill in world football – with THREE players earning £345,000 or more per week.
Lionel Messi, unsurprisingly, leads the way raking in £584,000 per week.
But he’s just one of three players to earn over £300,000 on weekly basis.
Midfield wonderkid Frenkie De Jong sits second, commanding £354,000 per week.
Antoine Griezmann takes home £345,000 a week following his move from Atletico Madrid in 2019.
Incredibly, a further FIVE players all earn £200,000 a week or more – with a total of 14 players raking in at least £100,000 per week.

Lionel Messi is far and away Barcelona’s top earner at close to £600,000 per week

    GUEN TO LEAVE
Arsenal have told Matteo Guendouzi he has played his last game for the club and will be sold in the summer, reports say.
The Frenchman was shipped on loan to Hertha Berlin in Germany at the start of the season.
He has impressed in the Bundesliga, sparking hope he could return to Arsenal once his spell away expires.
But according to Football Insider, Arteta has no plans in bringing Guendouzi back into his squad.
And Arsenal are even said to be dropping his price tag from £30million to £25m in an attempt to attract buyers.
But with the 21-year-old entering the final year of his contract at the end of this season, the Gunners could struggle to move him on.

    FEEL THE BURN
Burnley are level and it’s a howler from Granit Xhaka!
In trying to play the ball out the box, Xhaka’s pass deflected off Chris Wood and into the open net.
Arsenal should be 4-0 up, but now find themselves on level terms.
    Shambolic.

    LAND AHOY
Chelsea are confident of signing Borussia Dortmund hitman Erling Haaland this summer, according to reports.
The Norwegian burst on the scene with Red Bull Salzburg and has continued to flourish since his £19.5million move to Dortmund in December 2019.
Haaland has scored a whopping 43 goals in 45 appearances for the Bundesliga big boys, a run of form which has caught the eye of Premier League giants Chelsea.
And according to ESPN, the Blues reckon they can entice the 20-year-old to swap the Westfalenstadion for Stamford Bridge.
They claim the Chelsea brass believe they can tempt the youngster to up sticks with a lucrative financial package and the opportunity to spearhead an expensive starting XI.
The Blues, however, could face an uphill battle to acquire Haaland services as he’s reportedly not receptive to the idea of joining them.

    AUBA THE TOP
    Well that didn’t take long!
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has fired Arsenal into the lead in the sixth minute.
The Gunners ace was picked out by Willian, and he then slotted the ball into the bottom left corner after cutting inside.
    Big goal for the visitors.

    TITLE PARTY
Thousands of Rangers fans have broken lockdown rules by gathering outside of Ibrox ahead of today’s clash with St Mirren.
The Gers supporters have turned up in their numbers to welcome the team ahead of the impending title party, setting off various sets of pyro.
Steven Gerrard’s side are just one win away from securing the historic achievement.
Should they beat the Buddies this afternoon, and Celtic drop points away to Dundee United tomorrow, the Premiership crown will be theirs.
If the Hoops do manage to win at Tannadice, then it would set up a potential Celtic Park title showdown.
And with the Light Blues tantalisingly close, fans have gathered in their thousands to kick start the celebrations.

    EUR IN LUCK
FA chiefs would welcome any offer from Uefa to stage more games at Euro 2020.
Dublin, Glasgow and Bilbao are all struggling to be able to give Uefa the guarantees it is seeking over fans in the ground, with the deadline for compliance April 7.
And while Wembley chief executive Mark Bullingham insisted the FA was “100 per cent not lobbying” Uefa to dole out more matches, he admitted an approach from Nyon would be met with open arms.
Bullingham said: “Our understanding is that Uefa is still keen on the tournament being hosted in 12 countries.
“If for any reason, Uefa or the country in question decided they don’t want to host and came to us, we would want to help Uefa, knowing we have the stadia and the Government support to do it.
“We know a number of other countries would be in the same position. I’m not assuming that there will be extra games and we’re 100 per cent not lobbying Uefa for anything.
“But we would be one of the countries Uefa would consider for those extra games. That’s where we are.”

    RIP MICKEY LEWIS
Former West Brom and Oxford hero Mickey Lewis has died aged just 56.
Tributes have been paid to the ex-O’s boss after losing a short battle with lung cancer yesterday.
He was only diagnosed with the rare form of the disease two-weeks ago, and leaves behind wife Suzanne and son Zach.
A family statement said: “It is with deep sadness that we have to tell you our beloved Micky has lost his short battle with cancer.
“Micky fought with typical bravery and tenacity having been diagnosed only two weeks ago with a rare and aggressive form of lung cancer.
“As we all know Micky loved football, loved people and loved life and we will miss him so very much.
“We would appreciate some privacy right now but will announce any details in due course because we know how loved Micky was.”

    PAUL THE OTHER ONE
Paul Merson believes Man Utd are ‘on the verge of a meltdown’ due to their poor form in the Premier League.
The Red Devils – who have won just two out of their last eight top-flight matches – face rivals Man City on Sunday.
Writing in the Daily Star, Merson said: “Manchester United are on the verge of a meltdown – because that’s what it would be if they don’t finish in the top four.
“They were top of the league not so long ago and if you’re in with a chance of winning the title and then you don’t finish in the top four, that’s a major collapse.
“United have stopped scoring goals and teams below them have winnable games.
“They have opened the door. And they could be caught.”

    GUNNED DOWN
Arsenal will reportedly allow four of their Under-23 stars to leave the club in the summer.
According to Football London, Ben Sheaf, Arthur Okonkwo, Joseph Olowu and Kido Taylor-Hart’s respective stints with the north London club will come to an end at the end of the season.
Sheaf’s time with the Gunners will draw to a close as his loan club Coventry City have an obligation to permanently acquire his services.
Okonkwo and Olowu, meanwhile, are both set to become free agents at the end of the campaign.
And it’s claimed the Arsenal brass will not offer the duo, 19 and 21 respectively, new deals following the expiration of their current contracts.
Taylor-Hart is also said to be on course to leave the club as he’s yet to have been offered a professional deal.
Recent reports, however, have claimed the Gunners have indeed offered the 18-year-old winger a contract.

    AD ENOUGH
Wolves will listen to transfer offers for out-of-form Adama Traore at the end of the season, reports say.
The winger had interest from Barcelona and Manchester City last campaign, but his £70million price tag was deemed as too steep.
According to the Daily Mail, Wolves are still open to moving on Traore, as they look to bring in funds for a summer reshape for Nuno Espirito Santo.
But, with the Spaniard off the pace currently, his value is set to be drastically slashed.
Traore is without a goal and has just one assist in his 26 Premier League games so for this term.
That is compared to the four goals and nine assists he managed last season.

    SAINTS OR SINNERS
EXCLUSIVE – Southampton need only look back to the 2004-05 season to see how you can slip out of the league if you get sloppy.
Harry Redknapp’s side were out of the bottom three in mid-March thanks to a Peter Crouch-inspired win at Middlesbrough.
They missed out on safety by only two points in one of the most tightly-contested relegation scraps in Premier League history.
Kevin Phillips one of only nine players to score 30 league goals in a season, told SunSport: “We had some good players then and shouldn’t have gone down.
“But just because you’ve got good players, you can still get sucked in and get relegated. You can’t take anything for granted. If Southampton want to learn anything from that season, it’s that, yeah, they’ve got good players, but that doesn’t mean anything.
“People can quickly come up from behind you and overtake you, if you don’t perform. Hasenhuttl will know that.”

    JUR JOKING
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has insisted that only Manchester City, with their magic Abu Dhabi money tree, are capable of winning the title year in, year out.
He said: “If your problems are not getting bigger than solutions, you can have it.
“But it’s the most difficult league to stay on top for a long, long period, in England.
“It could happen. There is one club that maybe has everything for it — the quality of players, the manager, the money and everything — and that is Man City.
“All the rest have to fight with all you have to get close.
“When you are close enough you can maybe do what we showed last year.”

    DISLODGE HODGE
EXCLUSIVE – If Crystal Palace want to move on, then they need to do it without Roy Hodgson, says club legend Andy Gray.
He said: “It’s not a case of sticking with him or letting him go. Roy Hodgson is 73 and he came into the club to stabilise it. But that’s all he’s going do — stabilise the club.
“The club haven’t given him plenty of money to spend, so it’s not just the manager but it’s everyone connected with the club to recruit and buy players.
“Roy has got the squad that he’s got and it’s a squad which will stay in the Premier League. But it’s not going do anything other than that.
“This squad has got more chances of staying up than going down anyway because he hasn’t got the worst squad.”

Crystal Palace legend Andy Gray, who played more than 200 games for the Eagles in two spells at Selhurst Park, has called on the club to make a change

    NOISY NEIGHBOURS
Shaun Wright-Phillips says Manchester United should be used to chasing City by now having spent most of the last decade trying to keep up with the ‘noisy neighbours’.
Like many in the blue corner, he points to the FA Cup semi-final between the two clubs at Wembley in April  2011 as being a seismic day.
The former England ace recalled: “That game was clarification things were starting to turn in Manchester.
“That day was significant. It was a huge occasion — Wembley, a derby, a cup semi-final.
“For so long United had been the dominant force but the feeling was that our time was coming — when we’d start winning some trophies.
“That’s what they’ve been doing since — with City at No 1 and United at No 2 in Manchester. And that is how it is going into this derby.”
