    THAT’S A WRAP
Thanks for joining us this evening.
For a spot of bedtime reading, don’t forget to check out our match report, courtesy of Jordan Davies.
    PHILOSOPHICAL JOSE
When pressed on whether his team could finish in the top four, Mourinho added: “I want to be proud of my players no matter the result.
“During my career I have been proud many times when I’ve lost.
“For me, more than thinking of what position we’re going to finish, it’s more about developing during this period.
“I cannot do it alone, I have to do it with my club and the players in my dressing room. ”
    MOURINHO’S ATTITUDE
Speaking after the game, Jose Mourinho spoke about the importance of his team having the right attitude.
He said: “It was a good result, credit to the players; incredible attitude and incredible effort.
“I would say the team played as a team tonight.
“I would say our next challenge is to not play like this as a reaction to an awful performance, I want to see this soul and attitude permanently.
“There are things that are non-negotiable are attitude, team spirit and empathy and that’s something we want to see.”We changed the team slightly tactically, but this wasn’t about tactics, the win was due to attitude.
“We saw cramps and fatigue and things that are connected with a performance where you give everything.”

    SMITH SPEAKS
It took Aston Villa until the 58th minute to have a shot on goal and Dean Smith was all too aware of his side’s shortcomings this evening.
Speaking on Sky Sports, he says: “We started well and I thought we were better for the first 30minutes, but we make a mistake and they score.
“We got into good areas but just didn’t show our quality in the final third and that’s what’s missing for us at the moment- then we made a stupid mistake and gave away a penalty. Defensively we were solid all game.”
Asked how much his side were missing Jack Grealish’s creativity, Smith added: “I’ve said to them that we can’t wait for Jack to come back, everyone knows how good he is, but that’s been the other player’s opportunity to take. We’ve lacked creativity in the final third.”
    KANE TALKS
Speaking on Sky Sports, Harry Kane says: “We massively needed that.
“The last few games we haven’t been good enough in a couple of areas- we didn’t want to go into the international break with a loss.
“The boys put a shift in and we deserved it.
“I think the attitude was different, we were working hard together, all in the same direction. We lost that a bit recently, so it was nice to see everyone fighting and putting their bodies on the line.
“We just need to keep that up if we’re going to pus for the top four.
“It’s been embarrassing for us as players- the only way to give back to the supporters and the club is to get back on the pitch and show what we’re made of- we did exactly that today.”
    STAT ATTACK
Tottenham only managed three shots on target but scored twice easing their pain after a difficult week.
Possession was evenly split this evening, but Villa struggled in the final third.

    Mourinho’s night
From someone who couldn’t bear to look in the first half, Mourinho was in the thick of the action in the second.
He ended the game with a smile on his face and embraced his former captain Terry with a long hug.

    TEAM TALK
That result was exactly what Tottenham needed after a troubling week.
Carlos Vinicius bagged his first Premier League goal, before Harry Kane hammered it home from the spot.
He’s had 30 goal involvements this season and is now also the joint top goalscorer with 17.
Villa started both halves brightly, but they just couldn’t finish.
Smith will surely be glad to see his captain back in action after the international break.

    FT: ASTON VILLA 0-2 TOTTENHAM
    ASTON VILLA 0-2 TOTTENHAM
    93. Targett is booked for taking out Moura’s ankles.
Villa are frustrated at Tottenham who are just seeing out these final few minutes.
    ASTON VILLA 0-2 TOTTENHAM
    90. Kane holds the ball up, but Mings isn’t hanging around.
He tries to pinch the ball from the forward but gives way a corner.
    ASTON VILLA 0-2 TOTTENHAM
    90. Four added minutes at Villa Park.
    ASTON VILLA 0-2 TOTTENHAM
    87. Bergwijn races down the left wing, seemingly socially distant from any Villa player.
Konsa recovers and pokes the ball away from his feet just before Bergwijn reaches the six-yard box.
    ASTON VILLA 0-2 TOTTENHAM
    84. Barkley is picked out on the edge of the box by Sanchez.
He pulls the trigger but his shot is blocked by Sissoko’s back.
    ASTON VILLA 0-2 TOTTENHAM
    82. Moura picks out Davies on the overlap, he squares a ball across the box but it’s poked out for a freekick by Mings.
The freekick fails to clear the first man.
Villa try to counter but Vinicius is booked for cynically stopping it.
    ASTON VILLA 0-2 TOTTENHAM
    81. Kane and Mings are involved in a footrace deep in Villa’s half.
Kane falls to the floor and pleads with Mike Dean for a freekick, but he went down too easily.
    ASTON VILLA 0-2 TOTTENHAM
    80. Ndombele makes way for Sissoko.
Ndombele had a decent game this evening, it’s well known that he hasn’t always found favour with his boss.
    ASTON VILLA 0-2 TOTTENHAM
    79. Sissoko looks as though he’ll get a late runout.
Mourinho is holding back on the change for now as Tottenham are charging towards Villa’s box, again.
    ASTON VILLA 0-2 TOTTENHAM
    79. Substitution for Villa.
    Davis replaces Trezeguet.
    ASTON VILLA 0-2 TOTTENHAM
    78. Hojbjerg strikes the ball well from just outside the box.
It’s low and hard, but Martinez gets down to tip it away with his fingertips.
    ASTON VILLA 0-2 TOTTENHAM
    77. Tottenham look firmly in control now and have enjoyed a spell of possession in and around the box.
They’re looking far more confident than they did in the opening 30 minutes.
    ASTON VILLA 0-2 TOTTENHAM
Here’s the incident and subsequent penalty..

    ASTON VILLA 0-2 TOTTENHAM
    73. Cash sees yellow for a late tackle on Moura.
After a five week absence from the team, he’s made his mark this evening,
    ASTON VILLA 0-2 TOTTENHAM
    72. Barkley chips several Spurs defenders with his freekick, but it’s punched clear by Lloris.
The ball falls to the top of the D where El Ghazi makes contact with the ball, but his effort is just wide.
    ASTON VILLA 0-2 TOTTENHAM
    71. Hojbjerg deliberately drags down Targett just outside the box on the left.
He appeared to see that as the safer option.
Barkley steps up to take the freekick.

Leicester 3-1 Man Utd LIVE RESULT: Iheanacho brace and Tielemans stunner set up Foxes FA Cup semi-final with Southampton

MAN UTD will have to wait for a first trophy under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after being outclassed at Leicester.Former Man City ace Kelechi Iheanacho pounced on a short pass from Fred back to Dean Henderson to score a first half tap in before Mason Greenwood thumped home an equaliser.
But Youri Tielemans restored the Foxes’ advantage on 51 minutes with a brilliant strike into the bottom corner before Iheanacho popped up again with a close range header.
Following the FA Cup draw at half time, the winner of this game will line up against Southampton in the semi-final at Wembley.
THAT’S ALL FROM THE EAST MIDLANDS
So Manchester United have suffered their first away defeat to an English side in 14 months, but if you feel that’s a long time, how about this? Leicester City are in the FA Cup semi-final for the first time since 1982.
Brendan Rodgers’ team are well worth their place in the last four too. A superb display from the energetic Foxes was too much for the tired legs of United, and was epitomised by their goalscoring hero Kelechi Iheanacho.
The Nigerian striker followed up last week’s hat-trick with two well-taken goals and an assist for Youri Tieleman’s brilliant strike. The only response from the Red Devils was a Mason Greenwood equaliser on an evening when they were second best throughout.
Leicester will now face Southampton at Wembley next month while Chelsea take on Manchester City in the competition’s other semi.
There’s more football going on this evening so head over to our live coverage of Aston Villa versus Tottenham in the Premier League.
    Goodbye.
RARE TRAVEL SICKNESS FOR RED DEVILS
The wheels have finally come off for Manchester United on the road as they fell to their first domestic away defeat in 14 months.

    READ ALL ABOUT IT
Dave Kidd has filed his match report from the King Power Stadium so why not relive the drama of Leicester’s 3-1 FA Cup quarter-final success.
The result for United was a comprehensive defeat by an outstanding Leicester side, who booked their first FA Cup semi-final for 39 years thanks toa double from their in-form striker Kelechi Iheanacho.
    MADD FOR IT
James Maddison may be out injured at the moment, but that didn’t stop the midfielder from roaring his teammates on from the sidelines this afternoon.
The 24-year-old has taken to social media to pay tribute to Kelechi Iheanacho, and is now targeting a return to fitness for the FA Cup semi-final in mid-April.

    RODGERS RELISHING WEMBLEY TRIP
In his 100th game in charge of the Foxes, Brendan Rodgers has led Leicester to Wembley and their first FA Cup semi-final in almost 40 years.
1981-82 – In what was Brendan Rodgers’ 100th game in charge at the club, Leicester City have reached the semi-finals of the @EmiratesFACup for the first time since 1981-82 – they had lost five consecutive FA Cup quarter-final matches before today. FULL TIME STATS
Never mind the numbers. The Foxes are through to the FA Cup semi-final after a superb home display that saw them dispatch Manchester United.

    SUPER KELECHI IHEANACHO
A delighted Kelechi Iheanacho has expressed his joy in reaching the semi-finals of the FA Cup, and let viewers into the secret of Leicester’s success: hard work in training and faith in the big man upstairs.
I feel great, and the whole team are happy. Hopefully, we can focus on the next game, get it done, and get to the final. Hopefully, God will help us. We worked really well in training to get ready for this game. Kelechi IheanachoBBC

    LINEKER LOVING LEICESTER LIFE
I’ve found a BBC programme that’s more biased towards the blues than Question Time.

    FT: LEICESTER 3-1 MAN UTD
Leicester City are in the semi-finals of the FA Cup for the first time since 1982, and it is more than deserved. Kelechi Iheanacho continued his fine goalscoring form with a brace, scored either side of an excellent Youri Tielemans strike. Mason Greenwood had earlier equalised for Manchester United, but the Red Devils were never close to repeating their San Siro heroics in the East Midlands.
PEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!IT’S ALL OVER AT THE KING POWER!
    LEICESTER 3-1 MAN UTD
90+4. Leicester are playing keep ball, and few teams in the country would fancy themselves against the Foxes in this form.
Manchester United know they are beaten now.
    LEICESTER 3-1 MAN UTD
90+2. A Martial header at the back stick has Schmeichel throwing himself to the floor, but it’s more for show and a few more seconds on the clock.
    LEICESTER 3-1 MAN UTD
    90. The board goes up four minutes of stoppage time.
I doubt even the Manchester United of old could rescue this one.
    LEICESTER 3-1 MAN UTD
    89. A loose touch in midfield from Ndidi is possibly his first this afternoon, but the midfielder quickly responds to win back possession under the nose of Greenwood.
The Leicester midfielder – in fact, the Leicester midfield – has been immense today.
    LEICESTER 3-1 MAN UTD
    87. Choudhury is penalised for wrestling with Maguire, and Manchester United have a free-kick at least 30 yards from goal.
Fernandes stands over it, and then unleashes a wonderful dipping effort that flies over the wall and is heading towards the top corner before Schmeichel tips over.
    LEICESTER 3-1 MAN UTD
    85. It seems Southampton’s management can start preparing for Leicester City in the semi-final. I suppose it was a tough choice for the Saints: the team they lost 9-0 to this season or the team they lost 9-0 to last season.
Meanwhile, Fred’s nightmare afternoon is over, and on is the 18-year-old Amad Diallo.
    LEICESTER 3-1 MAN UTD
    83. Jamie Vardy’s race is run. Leicester’s second substitution sees the introduction of Hamza Choudhury.
    LEICESTER 3-1 MAN UTD
    81. Cavani gives the ball away and Shaw misjudges his tackle. I’m not sure Ole’s subs have had the desired effect.
    LEICESTER 3-1 MAN UTD
    78. Two goals for Kelechi Iheanacho, three for Leicester City, and the Foxes are surely on their way to Wembley!
It’s a super set-piece from Albrighton on the left, but awful defending from the United players.
Scott McTominay is perhaps most culpable, misjudging the flight of the ball at the far post, and allowing it to drop nicely for the Leicester striker to head home.
Dean Henderson does his best in getting a hand to it, but can only touch it on to the underside of the crossbar and in.

    GOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAALLLLLLL!!KELECHI IHEANACHO AT THE DOUBLE!!
    LEICESTER 2-1 MAN UTD
    77. Praet wins a free-kick in a promising position after turning McTominay one way and then the other.
    LEICESTER 2-1 MAN UTD
    75. It’s Evans in the book now. The former Manchester United man is unfortunate in as much that he slips, but he definitely brings down Fernandes.
    LEICESTER 2-1 MAN UTD
    73. Brendan Rodgers does the sensible thing by removing Ayoze Perez before he can get any other players booked by fouling them.
It allows for the return of Dennis Praet after ten weeks out inured.
    LEICESTER 2-1 MAN UTD
    72. McTominay goes into the book for the unforgivable act of being kicked in the calf by Perez.
The Spaniard had been booked himself moments earlier.
    LEICESTER 2-1 MAN UTD
    71. Greenwood gets down the right, looks up and spots Cavani making a trademark run to the near post.
However, just as Greenwood’s set to deliver, Soyuncu slides in with a wonderful old school challenge that takes the ball and leaves the youngster on the turf.
That was pure FA Cup football!

    BRILLIANT FOXES
It’s fair to say the best side won at the King Power Stadium as Leicester defeated Manchester United 3-1.
Kelechi Iheanacho opened the scoring in the 24th minute when Fred, making an awful error of judgement, presented him with the ball in front of goal.
Mason Greenwood equalised for the visitors shortly before half-time, finishing off a nice move.
The draw for the semi-finals was done at the interval, with the winners of this tie pitted against Southampton.
The other semi-final will see Chelsea take on City, which means we could have seen the two Manchester giants meet in the final.
That prospect was short lived, however, as Youri Tielemans made it 2-1 in the 52nd minute.
Iheanacho then scored his second and Leicester’s third, punishing some poor United defending with 12 minutes to go.

Leicester are through to their first FA Cup semi-final in 39 years.
They will face Southampton at Wembley.
    AT THE DOUBLE

    QUADRUPLE LIVES ON
Manchester City kept their quadruple hopes alive as they stung Everton late on to secure a 2-0 win on Saturday.

WEST HAM threw away a three-goal lead as Arsenal battled back for a point in a thrilling London derby,
Final score: West Ham 3-3 Arsenal

    THAT’S ALL FROM ME
Now that’s why it’s called “Super Sunday”.
Six goals, a game of two halves, and a late equaliser from Lacazette.
The point takes Arsenal up to ninth, but they’re still seven points behind today’s opponents West Ham.
The Hammers had the chance to go level on points with 4th place Chelsea but it wasn’t to be.
Plenty of footy still being covered here at SunSport.
Leicester City and Man Utd are fighting for a place in the FA Cup semi-finals.
The FA Cup draw will be getting underway shortly too!
    Have a good one!
    FLAIR LACA
ALEXANDRE LACAZETTE snatched a crucial point for Arsenal as the Gunners staged an incredible comeback from three goals down.
The French international headed an 82nd minute equaliser after Mikel Arteta’s men had looked dead and buried at the London Stadium.
And Hammers boss David Moyes will be wondering just how his team did not secure the victory which would have taken them level on points with fourth-placed Chelsea.
It took Arsenal an eternity to get into their stride as West Ham dominated the early play.
Read More: West Ham 3 Arsenal 3 Match Report
    ‘TWO FACES’
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta gave a rather brutal assessment: “This game is going to give me a few nightmares because it is really difficult to stop some of the things we have been doing to hurt ourselves.
“That is the level we can show, the other is top-level and probably the best we play all season – we could have scored six or seven goals and won the game, but we cannot have two faces.”
    LACAZETTE’S THOUGHTS
Comeback hero Lacazette gave his brief assessment to Sky Sports: “We had the pressure, we knew it was a big game.
“We have to work a lot to be ready for the end of the season. It is really complicated, this kind of game, we need to work a lot.
“We knew even after the bad first half we could come back and score more.”
    SUPER SUNDAY
This was the third Premier League game this season in which a team has led by 3+ goals and failed to win (also West Brom 3-3 Chelsea and Tottenham 3-3 West Ham); the only other Premier League campaign to see three such instances is 2010-11.

    FT: WEST HAM 3-3 ARSENAL
WOW! Now that’s what you call Super Sunday!
Arsenal fought back hard in the second half to rescue a point and Lacazette was instrumental.
The Gunners pulled one back in the 61st minute when Chambers found himself in some room down the right-hand side.
The right-back drilled the ball in low and Dawson steered it into the back of his own net.
You could see the way the game was going and it was Arsenal who did eventually grab the sixth goal of the game.
Pepe got to the byline and floated a cross towards the far post, Lacazette got the beating of Dawson and completed the comeback.
    Comeback complete!
    PEEEEEEP!
THE FULL-TIME WHISTLE GOES AT THE LONDON STADIUM!

    WEST HAM 3-3 ARSENAL
    84. CHANCE!
Rice gets fed up with not having any options in front of him and goes on a mazey run.
He blitzes through the opposition and gets a shot off but it’s straight at Leno!
    WEST HAM 3-3 ARSENAL
    82. Pepe races away and gets to the byline before hanging a cross up at the far post.
Lacazette rises highest and plants the header into the back of the net!
Arsenal complete the comeback from 3-0 down and they’re looking for the winner.
West Ham have let themselves down massively.
    GOOOOOAAAAAALLLLL!!!
    LACAZETTE COMPLETES THE COMEBACK!!!
    ARSENAL SMELL BLOOD!!!
    WEST HAM 3-2 ARSENAL
    80. Lingard runs free and rides the challenge of Chambers before cutting inside onto his right foot.
The midfielder gets a shot off but it goes high and wide.
    WEST HAM 3-2 ARSENAL
    79. SUBSTITUTION!
Fredericks os on for West Ham and Benrahma is sacrificed.
    WEST HAM 3-2 ARSENAL
    78. Chambers finds himself in a cross position once again after Pepe lets the ball run across him.
The right-back delivers a cross towards the far post and after some scrappy defending West Ham hook the ball clear.
    WEST HAM 3-2 ARSENAL
    76. OFF THE POST!
Benrahma breaks into the Arsenal penalty area and drills a shot across goal.
Antonio meets it and sends a shot bouncing onto the post and back out into play!
    He should have scored!
    WEST HAM 3-2 ARSENAL
    73. SUBSTITUTION!
Both sides make some changrs and West Ham look like they’re going to shut up shop.
Mark Noble is on for Bowen.
And for Arsenal, Saka and Xhaka make way for Smith Rowe and Pepe.
    WEST HAM 3-2 ARSENAL
    71. Arsenal have had a hold on this game for a long time and if you’re a betting man, you’re betting on Arsenal to get an equaliser.
West Ham look tired despite having more rest than Arsenal.
The Hammers’ front three are not functioning as well as they did in the first half.
    WEST HAM 3-2 ARSENAL
    68. West Ham are looking for cheap free-kicks and John Moss is having none of it and rightly so.
Dithering on the ball and appealing for the free-kicks have allowed Arsenal to break up the pitch and fast.

    FOXES SHARING THE SPOILS
Leicester City have been seen as something of a one-man team when it has come to their scoring in recent seasons, but the Foxes have been sharing the goals around as far as this FA Cup campaign has been concerned.
Excluding own goals, only Bristol Rovers and Spurs (9) have had more players find the net in this season’s competition than the Foxes. Their eight goals across three ties have each been scored by different players. They are as follows:

    James Justin
    Marc Albrighton
    Ayoze Perez
    Harvey Barnes
    Cengiz Under
    Youri Tielemans
    James Maddison
    Kelechi Iheanacho

Not a Jamie Vardy strike in sight.
    SEMI-FINAL SPECIALISTS
Twelve-times FA Cup winners Manchester United are looking to reach the semi-finals of the competition for what would be a record 31st occasion.
The Red Devils have made the semis in three of the last five seasons, and are currently level with Arsenal for appearances (30) in the last four of the competition.
GOOD AFTERNOON FROM THE KING POWER STADIUM
Welcome to our live coverage of Leicester City versus Manchester United in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.
This weekend, these two clubs take a break from battling it out for a Champions League place in the top four, and instead turn their attention to the quest for silverware.
Brendan Rodgers would certainly love to add a cup to his evolution in the East Midlands, however history is against the Northern Irishman. The Foxes have lost each of their last five FA Cup quarter-finals, and haven’t reached the last four of the competition since 1982.
Meanwhile, despite only one place and one point separating these sides in the Premier League, Leicester have won just one of their last 25 meetings with Manchester United, and none of the last 13.
The hosts will be without Ricardo Pereira, who is struggling with a hamstring strain, but Dennis Praet is back in contention after ten weeks out with a similar injury.
Manchester United have already enjoyed one cup success this week following their 1-0 victory at AC Milan in the Europa League on Thursday.
Paul Pogba marked his return to fitness with the winning goal at the San Siro, and his rehabilitation may well continue with a starting spot in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side here.
However, Marcus Rashford was taken off in Italy as a precaution, and neither Edinson Cavani and Anthony Martial are considered fully fit, which may mean a shortage of attacking options for the visitors as they plot to reach what would be a record 31st FA Cup semi-final.
Southampton, Manchester City and Chelsea have already made it through to the final four, who will join them?
We’ll have confirmation of today’s starting line-ups shortly as well as more build-up ahead of kick-off at 5pm.

Chelsea 2-0 Sheffield United LIVE RESULT: Ziyech wraps up win as Blues book FA Cup semi-final spot against brave Blades

CHELSEA are into the FA Cup semi-final after a hard-working victory over Sheffield United.A brilliant cross from Ben Chilwell was deflected in off the unfortunate Oliver Norwood to give the Blues the lead.
But the basement Blades had much the better of the second half and will wonder what might have been after great chances were missed by David McGoldrick and Rhian Brewster.
Their efforts were all in vain however when Hakim Ziyech made the result safe in stoppage time.
    THAT’S ALL FROM CHELSEA
Chelsea advanced to the FA Cup semi-finals after beating Sheffield United 2-0 at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues opened the scoring after 24 minutes when Mason Mount’s corner-kick down the right flank found Ben Chilwell completely unmarked on the edge of the box.
Chilwell fired a left-footed shot that deflected off Oliver Norwood’s foot and went behind Aaron Ramsdale’s net.
Sheffield United fought back in the second half and came close to an equaliser twice with David McGoldrick.
McGoldrick missed an unbelievable chance when he got in front of Kepa Arrizabalaga following a brilliant cross from John Lundstram down the right flank but his header just missed the target.
The striker then cut inside Chelsea’s box from the left flank but his clever shot was saved by Kepa.
The Blues put the tie to bed on the second minute of stoppage time when Mateo Kovacic found Chilwell on the left side and the full-back delivered a crisp cross to Hakim Ziyech inside the box.
Ziyech got a lovely touch and beat Ramsdale to send his team to the final four.
That’s all from us here at Stamford Bridge, have a lovely day!

    PULISIC REACTS
Chelsea star Christian Pulisic admited that Sheffield United gave them a hard afternoon at Stamford Bridge.
Pulisic said: “They didn’t make it easy on us. We knew they had quality, and we had to suffer a bit [in the] second half. But yeah, it’s a clean sheet, a good performance.
“We knew it was going to be a bit uncomfortable. Sometimes, you know, there’s going to be a bit of pressure and we just have to defend and be strong as a team and I think we did that today, so in the end, I was happy.
“They’re a good defensive side as well, we had a couple of chances where we could have done a bit better but in the end we got the two goals and that’s a good result.
“We definitely have a confident bunch of guys. Obviously when you go on a streak like this, we’re feeling really good, we feel like we can beat anyone, so that’s a good feeling”

    HAK-ING THROUGH
Here’s how Hakim Ziyech put the tie to bed and sent Chelsea through to the FA Cup semi-finals.
Mateo Kovacic found Ben Chilwell on the left and the full-back’s crisp cross found Ziyech inside the box.
The star winger got a beautiful touch and beat Sheffield United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale to double the hosts’ lead.
    Check it out:

    TUCHEL REACTS
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel admits his team was “lucky” not to concede in the second half.
Tuchel said: “It was a tough match, we had a good first half where we controlled everything, but second half, we lost control.
“We were clearly tired now. I could see after 14 matches consecutive, I could ‘feel us’ tired, and a bit of lack of concentration, many little faults, and a strong opponent in the second half. So we were lucky in the second half to keep the clean sheet.
“It was not the first time in 14 matches where we were lucky, and we allowed too many chances, but it’s important in the end in the cup to go through. This was the target, and we reached it.
“Honestly I could feel it in training, since some days, we feel a bit tired, and a lack of concentration, it can happen in a game. I’m happy that we got help from the bench. In the end we have a win”

    CLEAN WIN
Chelsea are through to the FA Cup semi-finals and have made it in style.
The Blues have kept seven successive clean sheets and equalled their most recent record from 2005.
They are now after their all-time greatest record of nine, which they achieved in 1905.
    More below:
7 – Chelsea have kept a clean sheet in seven successive matches, their longest run since December 2005 (also seven); they’ve only had one longer run in their history – nine games ending in December 1905. Impenetrable. pic.twitter.com/yl6fTOUz5x— OptaJoe (@OptaJoe) March 21, 2021

    WHO’S NEXT?
Chelsea are going to find out their next FA Cup opponents later on today at around 5.45pm as the semi-final draw takes place when Manchester United’s clash with Leicester reaches half-time.
Southampton also made it through as they eliminated Bournemouth away thanks to a 3-0 win yesterday.
The same goes for favourites Manchester City, who defeated Everton 2-0 away in their quarter-final tie.
The final participant in the competition’s final four will be decided when Leicester and United collide in the evening

    SICK ABUSE
Jude Bellingham has received support from the Football Association after the England teen star was subjected to racial online abuse.
Bellingham, 17, shared a screenshot of a vile Instagram message following Borussia Dortmund’s 2-2 draw against Cologne in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
The Three Lions starlet posted: “Just another day on social media…” in reply to the abusive message towards his mother which led to a racist post including monkey emojis.
England tweeted: “We continue to be disgusted by the discriminatory abuse our players – and others across the game – are being subjected to online. Something needs to change. We stand with you, @BellinghamJude”
Bellingham was included in Gareth Southgate’s squad for the World Cup qualifying triple-header against San Marino, Albania and Poland.
But the Covid-19 regulations in Germany are expected to prevent the Dortmund midfielder from linking up with the Three Lions.

    JUR NOT HAPPY
Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk is reportedly on a ‘collision course’ with manager Jurgen Klopp over his desire to play in the Euros.
The world class centre-back has been out since October when he suffered an ACL injury after being clattered by Everton keeper Jordan Pickford.
Van Dijk is not expected to return to the first-team before the season is out.
But according to The Mirror, Van Dijk has eyes on the European Championships with The Netherlands.
Klopp instead wants his star man to ‘focus on a full pre-season with Liverpool before kick-starting his career again’.
The German gaffer is reportedly ‘horrified’ that he could feature for his country this summer.

    SHAW THING
Man Utd left-back Luke Shaw has revealed he didn’t expect to be called back up for England having last featured in 2018.
After returning to Gareth Southgate’s squad for the World Cup qualifiers, he said: “At times, I made bad mistakes, pulling out of squads maybe at times when I shouldn’t have. That was down to me.
“Of course, back then, I was going through bad times. There was in the back of my mind, especially my family and my girlfriend, they thought that it was done.
“At the start of the season I had ambitions and sat down with my girlfriend and said that I wanted to get back in the England squad, doing everything I can to be back there.
“You know, of course with my form, I thought there was a bigger chance than ever that I could be back in it.
“Gladly, Gareth’s given me another opportunity to be involved in there, so I’m just really happy and honoured to be selected again. Hopefully I can show Gareth why I deserve a spot in the squad.”

Here is how both Chelsea and Sheffield United start in their FA Cup quarter-final clash at Stamford Bridge.

    BRU-TAL
Newcastle fans held a banner outside St James’ Park calling manager Steve Bruce a ‘coward’ and told him to ‘leave now’.
Toon supporters are growing increasingly frustrated as the club dropped to just two points above the relegation zone.
Newcastle suffered yet more misery on Saturday night, as they were thrashed 3-0 away at Brighton.
In an exclusive picture obtained by SunSport, fans took their fury to St James Park as they protested for Bruce’s exit.
The banner also said: “You are not one of us.”
Two wins from 18 leaves the Magpies struggling to stay afloat after plunging from mid-table safety in the Premier League.

    WIJN TASTING
Liverpool midfielder Georgino Wijnaldum has reportedly agreed a deal to join Barcelona in the summer.
The midfielder’s current contract with the Reds is set to expire in the summer, despite prolonged talks over a new deal.
Wijnaldum, 30, was reportedly offered a new long-term contract but is said to have snubbed the offer.
And according to The Times, the Netherlands international has since signed a ‘pre-contract deal’ with Barca.
If Wijnaldum has indeed agreed terms with the Catalan club, he’ll become the first signing of Joan Laporta’s second spell as president.
Barcelona wanted to sign the former Newcastle man last summer but were unable to due to financial constraints.

    POTT LUCK
Brighton are heading for Premier League safety after ditching home comforts for an away-day route to success.
Boss Graham Potter decided lounging around at the Amex for hours before kick-off was doing nothing but harm for his players.
He said: “I thought it was a long day hanging around before at the Amex so we just changed it up a little bit
“We just reported to the hotel in the afternoon and rested up there, we can just turn up an hour and a half before the game .
“We came with the feeling of ‘Let’s get in, get job done, we know what we are doing. Let’s crack on and do it’. In that respect, it has worked.
“I think the next game we have is another evening game so I think it makes sense for the evening game it makes sense for us to do what we did again today because I think it just stops us hanging around the Amex for too long.”
    SLUMP
Man Utd’s new shirt sponsor TeamViewer saw their share prices drop a whopping 16 per cent following the announcement of their deal with the Red Devils.
The Premier League big boys announced a five-year deal with the global technology company on Friday.
But according to Bloomberg, the tech firm’s share values slumped shortly after the announcement due to concerns over their huge outlay for the sponsorship.
United are set to earn a staggering £235million from the deal, which equates to £47m each year.
But reports in the US suggest the Red Devils will pocket less than that figure, which is just under half of what American car company Chevrolet paid for their seven-year deal.
United’s partnership with TeamViewer plans to introduce the club’s ‘1.1billion fans and followers around the world to exciting new technology drawing on TeamViewer’s expertise in remote connectivity services’.

    HOMES UNDER THE SLAMMER
Cops are carrying out Covid spot-checks on the Premier League’s Euro stars to ensure they self-isolate.
Surprise visits have been paid to the homes of some top-flight players who have travelled away in the Champions and Europa leagues to see if they are obeying the restrictions on their return.
All players and staff who have flown to the continent with their clubs must self-isolate for five days when they get back.
They are only permitted to travel to and from training and matches and are not allowed to leave their homes or go out for any other reason during that time — not even to shop or exercise.
Competing clubs, including Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal, have been warned they must stick to the rules.
The random police checks are to ensure stars are staying home — and so far it is understood they have uncovered no Covidiots breaking the rules.
    NO RUN OF THE MIL
Man Utd are reportedly NOT looking to bring Fiorentina centre-back Nikola Milenkovic to Old Trafford in the summer.
It has been widely speculated that the Serbia international has been touted as a partner for Harry Maguire at the back.
But according to the Express, the 23-year-old is not on the Red Devils’ list of targets.
They state that French pair Raphael Varane and Jules Kounde are serious options.
The news report also claims that United are interested in West Ham’s Declan Rice and Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland.
    JOK AND ROLL
EXCLUSIVE – Sheffield United want to tempt Slavisa Jokanovic back to England to lead them back to the Premier League at the first try.
The Blades, who look doomed, have started their hunt for a long-term boss and the Serb is their first choice if they can come up with the money.
The former Watford and Fulham chief has two promotions on his CV and United want him to make it a lucky third.
The 52-year-old is in Qatar with Al-Gharafa on a lucrative deal, so it would be an expensive recruit.
He would need to be the best paid manager in the Championship in the £2million-a-year range.
Jokanovic is very choosy about where to go, so the Bramall Lane outfit would have to sell it to him.

    OWEN GOAL
Michael Owen is backing former employers Man Utd to beat Leicester 1-0 and advance into the FA Cup semi-finals.
He told Bet Victor: “Manchester United have been imperious away from home this season and their amazing streak continued when they defeated Manchester City at the Etihad a couple of weeks ago.
“They repeated the trick midweek at the San Siro, so there’s no doubt confidence will be high in the Red Devils camp.
“Leicester are a good side. However, other than last weeks 5-0 win against doomed Sheffield United, they’ve been too in and out for me lately.
“With that in mind, I think Manchester United will walk away from the King Power with all three points.”
    ‘COMPLETE SHOCK’
World Cup winner Sir Geoff Hurst has spoken of his sorrow for football’s child sex abuse victims.
The 79-year-old issued a statement in the wake of a damning report. Clive Sheldon QC identified at least 692 victims.
His report named eight paedos including Chelsea chief scout Eddie Heath.
Sir Geoff sacked Heath six months after taking the manager’s job at Stamford Bridge in 1979.
The 1966 England hero said: “It was purely a footballing decision.
“I feel incredible sorrow for the victims of Heath and the other protagonists in this sad affair, but at no point did I have any knowledge whatsoever of any wrongdoing.
“It came as a complete shock to me.”
