    PATS THE WAY
Manchester United target Patson Daka has opened the door to a summer Premier League move from RB Salzburg.
His agent Freddie Kanoute told Austrian TV: “I think it is time for a new challenge for Patson at the end of the season. That is no secret.
“We will sit down with the clubs interested in him, work out a good plan and them make the right decision.
“We don’t want him to change clubs just for the sake of it.
“He has really caught fire this season. He was good before, but now we are seeing a completely different Patson Daka.
“He gets better almost every day, and he’s now showing what he truly can do.
“We see a new, further improved Patson virtually every weekend.”
    PAUL OVER NOW
David De Gea and Paul Pogba find themselves on the highest-paid XI – even if their performances have not justified their mammoth pay packets.
That is according to Spanish outlet Marca’s ‘world’s best XI’ team featuring the top footballers.

    CRIS CROSS
Former Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri reportedly told club chairman Andrea Agnelli to sell former Man Utd star Cristiano Ronaldo before he left in 2019.
The 53-year-old stood down as the Old Lady gaffer at the end of the 2018-19 season after guiding the Italian side to five consecutive Serie A titles.
He worked with Ronaldo, 36, for one year after he lured the Portuguese forward away from Real Madrid in 2018 in the hope he would guide them to Champions League glory.
Ronaldo – who has been linked with a return to United – arrived to Turin having won the European Cup four times in five years, and there was expectation he could fire Juve to their first triumph since 1996.
But Juve crashed out to Ajax in the quarter-finals in Allegri’s last year in charge, with the ex-AC Milan manager urging Agnelli to offload Ronaldo as he was stalling the growth of the club.
According to La Repubblica via Football Italia, in Allegri’s last meeting with Agnelli, he stated that Ronaldo should also be following him out of the door. Allegri is claimed to have said: “Get rid of Ronaldo, he’s blocking the growth of the team and the club.”

    SHAW AND ORDER
Manchester United star Luke Shaw has revealed that he’d have liked to have been a policeman had he not succeeded in football.
The England star has been in sensational form for the Red Devils this season, keeping opposition wingers under lock and key.
But had he lacked the football skills, he may have been keeping real-life villains out of harm’s way.
Asked what he’d like to have done outside of football during a recent Man United Q&A, he replied: “If I wasn’t playing soccer I think I’d probably like to be a police officer.
“It’s a random one but I watch a lot of series and stuff to do with the police and CIA and MI6 and I’m quite into stuff like that.
“And I think if I wasn’t a footballer I think I’d want to do something based around what they do. So I’d say a police officer.”

    FRENCH TWIST
Paris Saint-Germain are lining up a bid for Manchester United Harry Kane if they lose Kylian Mbappe this summer.
The French giants fear that Mbappe could be leaving Paris with a new contract still not signed.
Mbappe, 22, is wanted by the likes of Real Madrid and only currently has one more season on his PSG deal.
And the Independent report that PSG will look towards Spurs striker Kane in a potential reunion with Mauricio Pochettino.
SunSport revealed that Tottenham have no intention of selling their star striker.
Daniel Levy’s club will demand £175million if a foreign club want his services but a sale to a Prem rival like Man Utd or Man City is said to be off the table.

    LO BLOW
Odion Ighalo believes he was ‘unfairly’ benched during his time at Manchester United. The Nigerian striker, 31, joined the Red Devils on loan in January 2020 in a ‘dream’ transfer after snubbing Tottenham.
But he felt he should have got more game time than his 757 minutes across 23 appearances under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer before joining Al Shabab in Saudi Arabia in February.
He told Sky Sports News: “After my initial loan was extended, I did not play much which was perhaps a bit unfair but I am always grateful for the opportunity.
“When I joined, I always knew I wouldn’t be playing every game because I was signing as a back-up striker so I knew playing time was going to be limited. There were certain games where I thought I would play but that’s the decision of the coach and I am not holding anything against anyone.
“I’m so happy that my path crossed with Manchester United – it’s the club I love with all my heart and for all my life so playing for them was a big privilege that I do not take for granted.
“Just waking up every morning and going into training at Carrington was a thing of joy. Meeting the lads, laughing, talking, going inside the dressing room for training and games… every moment is one I am going to cherish.”

    CHO AGAIN
Manchester United are still hopeful of signing Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund, according to reports.
The 21-year-old English star has been on the Old Trafford radar for a number of seasons.
Last year United failed to agree a deal to bring Sancho in from Dortmund.
But Manchester Evening News report that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men are considering a fresh transfer attempt.
And it comes as Dortmund chief Hans-Joachim Watzke admitted the club will listen to ‘exceptional offers’ – which put United and Chelsea on alert.

    CALLING DYBS
Manchester United and Chelsea are both interested in signing Juventus superstar Paulo Dybala but Paris Saint-Germain are in pole position to bag the Argentine, according to reports.
Dybala, 27, will have a just year left on his £125,000-a-week deal come the end of the season. And while he is interested in staying in Turin, a renewal isn’t easy for Juve.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Juventus can only afford to keep one of Dybala and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Old Lady have struggled financially since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, with Ronaldo’s enormous salary in particular weighing down the club’s coffers.
Tuttosport report that Paris Saint-Germain are well placed to recruit Juve’s No10, with boss Mauricio Pochettino a long-time admirer of his compatriot’s talent. Pochettino, 49, tried to recruit Dybala while manager of Spurs in the summer of 2019, only for the deal to fall through at the last moment.
But, with PSG’s considerable financial clout behind him this time, he may finally get his man – although fans of Man Utd and Chelsea may hope that their team can pip PSG to the post.

    SHAWBERTO CARLOS
Luke Shaw has repsonded to viral memes comparing him to Roberto Carlos.
The Man Utd left-back has been in sparkling form this season but laughs off comparisons to the legendary Brazilian.
He told United’s website: “I’ll be honest I’ve seen some things on it on social media and sometimes in my group chats my mates send me some stuff and I just laugh about it.
“I can’t be compared to him, he was unbelievable!
“I’m aware of it and it’s nice to be even mentioned alongside his name, but I just laugh about it!”

    NOT GUNNER HAPPEN
Jesse Lingard has been warned off making a move to Arsenal by former Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand.
Arsenal are set for a summer rebuild after a miserable 2020/21 campaign – but Ferdinand doesn’t anticipate that will involving adding Lingard to the squad. And Ferdinand doesn’t believe the 28-year-old would ‘go anywhere near’ anyway.
Asked about the Gunners’ reported interest in Lingard, Ferdinand told FIVE YouTube channel: “Yeah but you know what they [Arsenal fans] wouldn’t have him there.
“The way he moonwalked off that pitch once, they wouldn’t have it. The fans would rip the place apart. He disrespected the Emirates in a way that hadn’t been seen.
“Listen West Ham will have a fight to get him by the way because I think other teams are going to be like: ‘Listen, we want him!’
“He’s not going to go to Arsenal over West Ham, obviously but there will be other teams. He ain’t going nowhere near Arsenal.”

    BETTER CALL SAUL
Manchester United have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Saul Niguez with the Atletico Madrid ace reportedly up for sale.
The Red Devils are known to be admirers of the 26-year-old, and were rumoured to be eyeing up a £71million bid for him last summer. And it was claimed in December how Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have reignited their interest in the midfielder ahead of a possible summer move.
It has been alleged that should Paul Pogba depart Old Trafford at the end of the season, then United would make a swoop to sign the Spain international.
And according to Cadena Ser, United’s chances of landing him have been boosted, with Atletico prepared to cash in on their academy graduate. They state that up to seven players could be heading for the exit door at the Wanda Metropolitano, including loanee Lucas Torreira, who will be heading back to Arsenal.
It has has also been suggested that Chelsea target Jose Gimenez could be sold. Winger Vitolo – who has been offered to West Ham for £8.5million – is another player that Atletico are said to be keen to offload.
Speaking last year, Saul put United on red alert when he admitted that he is ‘flattered’ to being linked with the club.

    NEV-ER THOUGHT IT
Gary Neville has tipped ‘wobbling’ Leicester City to miss out on the top four again.
The Sun exclusively revealed that James Maddison, Harvey Barnes, Ayoze Perez and Hamza Choudhury were caught by Brendan Rodgers flouting Covid rules at a house party last week.
And Manchester United icon Neville, 46, thinks that the incident could drive a wedge between certain players in the dressing room, after the guilty parties were dropped for Sunday’s 3-2 defeat at top-four rivals West Ham.
Neville said on his podcast: “Where West Ham are is unthinkable. None of us thought they would be in with a shout of top four.
‘I worry about Leicester. I remember before Monday Night Football and thinking that Leicester would get into the top four. If you ask me now, five or six days later, I’m saying no (they won’t). I think they could really struggle in the next few weeks.”
The Foxes missed out on Champions League football last season after a dire run of two wins in their final nine games saw them pipped by Manchester United and Chelsea.

    MARCED MAN
Marcus Rashford is on fire this season.
And the Man Utd admins wanted to remind the world.
Although he didn’t score in the 3-1 win at Spurs on Sunday, the England star has still scored 20 and bagged 12 assists from 48 appearances so far this season.

    FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s son has hilariously revealed he ‘always gets food’ following the bizarre row between his dad and Jose Mourinho.
The Manchester United boss accused Son Heung-min of conning officials to get Edinson Cavani’s strike chalked off by going down too easily under a flailing arm from Scott McTominay.
Seething Solskjaer said: “If my son stayed down for three minutes and he needed ten mates to help him up, he wouldn’t get any food. The game has gone — absolutely gone.”
But speaking to Norwegian newspaper Tidens Krav, thankfully Ole’s son Noah, 20, has insisted he doesn’t go hungry.
The Kristiansund BK player said: “Yes, I laughed a lot on Sunday too. I always get food, I can assure everyone about that.
“[Teammate] Max [Williamsen] asked me if I had been given food when he met me before training today. I have never been lying down the way Son did. Mourinho probably just wanted to take the focus away from the fact they had lost.”

    DOM-BELIEVABLE
Rio Ferdinand has urged Manchester United to sign Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Speaking on his FIVE YouTube channel, the former United centre-back said: “Listen, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, for me I love him.
“I’ve watched a lot of Everton this year and he’s one that unnerves defenders. He’s not one you want to play against week in, week out. He’s aggressive, he attacks the ball.
“I was speaking to Carlo Ancelotti earlier this year and he mentioned Inzaghi and said he didn’t need many chances to score goals and he scores goals in and around the six-yard box.
“I look at Calvert-Lewin this season and he’s listened to that, he’s taken that on board. Obviously he seems a real good student of the game and he’s started putting that into his own game.
“We’ve seen the rewards he’s had – he’s got into the England squad by scoring loads of goals in and around the six-yard box, scoring those ugly goals.”

    RON THE WAY HOME
Manchester United want to sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Juventus this summer, according to reports in Italy.
And in order to get a deal done, they could let Paul Pogba return to his former club in part-exchange.
The Red Devils are set to be feeling flush at the end of the season, with another shot at Champions League football in sight. And this could lead them to making a massive move.
According to Calciomercato, United want to mark Champions League qualification with an ‘important’ signing. And Cristiano Ronaldo fits the bill.
They claim that the Portuguese hasn’t ruled out a return to Old Trafford one day.
With his wages reportedly crippling Juventus’ finances, the Old Lady may want to cash in with a year remaining on his contract.

    UNITED FRONT
Premier League clubs are considering joining forces to boycott social media.
Top-flight teams want to send a message that racism will not be tolerated and a blanket boycott is one way to do so.
According to Daily Mail, teams could unite to stay away from platforms such as Instagram and Twitter for an entire round of fixtures. The report adds that the idea of a Friday 5pm to Monday 9am social media hiatus has been discussed.
And such a move would ramp up pressure on social platforms to act against online hate and abuse after a spate of recent incidents.
One potential hurdle for such a blanket boycott is the commercial deals and agreements that clubs have to promote on their social channels.
It comes after Swansea ditched social media for a week in a self-imposed seven-day exile. Rangers also followed suit in Scotland with a boycott of their own.

    DORT OF CALL
Erling Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola has revealed that Dortmund do not want to sell the Manchester United target this summer.
And the super agent says he’s fine with the decision and respects their opinion. Man Utd and Chelsea lead the Premier League chasers for the £154m forward with Real Madrid and Barcelona also interested.
But, in a fresh twist, Raiola revealed that Dortmund might try and hang on to his services.
He told Sport1: “I can confirm that I was in Dortmund for talks. Michael Zorc made it clear to us that BVB does not want to sell Erling this summer.
“I respect that opinion, but what does not automatically mean that I also agree. BVB were very clear in their views. We are okay with that.
“There is no war between us and BVB – absolutely not! The relationship with Zorc, Hans-Joachim Watzke and Kehl is still good.”

    POWER SERGE
Manchester United are ready to go back in for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, according to reports in Italy.
The Serb was a top target for the Red Devils 18 months ago and Gazzetta dello Sport claim he is attracting interest from United, Real Madrid and PSG ahead of this summer’s window.
Milinkovic-Savic’s future is likely to depend on whether Lazio can qualify for the Champions League this season.
And the midfielder himself commented: “I have a long contract (until 2024), I don’t think about the future, but to finish in the top four with Lazio.”
The story does not mention whether or not Paul Pogba’s decision on his future will influence United’s view on signing Milinkovic-Savic.

    GOOD MORNING UTD FANS
Roy Keane believes Tottenham star Harry Kane ‘fancies’ joining United this summer.
He told Sky Sports: “For Kane, he’d be looking at this United team and must be thinking: ‘I could be the top man at Man Utd up front’.
“With the service he’d be getting, Kane must fancy United. [Trophies?] If Kane is in the United team, as night follows day, yeah.
“United have closed the gap on City and Kane would be another hug step. Maybe Kane doesn’t want to go abroad, United are still a huge, huge pull.
“United want to get back to winning titles so they’ll certainly need another striker. Kane, Haaland, I’d take either.
“Probably Haaland [over Kane] because of his age and the investment, but I wouldn’t say no to Kane either.”
Meanwhile, on the transfer front, Eduardo Camavinga will not sign a new contract at Rennes, according to reports.
And that is set to put United and Real Madrid on red alert over a summer transfer.
The European heavyweights are long-term admirers of the defensive midfielder.
So reports from The Athletic that he is not going to put pen to paper on an extension will be music to the ears of the top brass at Bernabeu and Old Trafford.
The 18-year-old’s current deal at Rennes expires at the end of the 2021-22 season.
And finally, United have reportedly revived their interest in Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
Gazzetta claims the midfielder, 26, could finally be set for a big-money move away from Italy’s capital.
But United face stiff interest from Real Madrid and PSG, who are also big fans of the Serb.
    KANE AND ABLE
Manchester United may have to occupy all of the top four spots on this list to attract either Harry Kane or Erling Haaland this summer.

    BETTER SWEET
Mark Noble has been hit in the pocket after Jesse Lingard’s heroics in the 3-2 win over Leicester.
A wager was made between the pair when Lingard arrived from Manchester United on loan in January.
Hammers veteran Noble, 33, explained: “When he first came to the club, I had a bet with him that if he got eight goals I would pay for a night out for him and a stay in the Corinthia Hotel.
“So it’s going to cost me a fortune, those two goals.
“As much as I was buzzing that he got them, it’s now going to be costing me a few quid!”
The Corinthia is a swanky hotel in the heart of London, where a stay costs at least £500 a night.
    CAM AND GET ME
Eduardo Camavinga will not sign a new contract at Rennes, according to reports.
And that is set to put Manchester United and Real Madrid on red alert over a summer transfer.
    UNITED WE STAND
Manchester United remain are the most valuable football club in England – worth a whopping £3.06billion.

    SUMMER SPACTACULAR
A remarkable calendar of British sport is taking shape in what promises to be a summer to remember.
After the coronavirus pandemic put sport on its knees 12 months ago, events such as the European Championships and Wimbledon were postponed and cancelled as fans were left with little entertainment.

    PAUL OVER
Andrea Pirlo has warned Manchester United off Paulo Dybala by claiming the superstar WILL be at Juventus next season.
Dybala, 27, has been linked with a big-money move this summer as he approaches the final year of his Bianconeri deal.
Pirlo declared: “I’ve always said Dybala is an important player and unfortunately I haven’t had him at my disposal very much this season.
“Let’s look at the present, because that is more important than the future.
“He still has a year left on his contract, so we will have him here next season.
“Dybala is a player who makes the difference. I hope hope to be able to use Cristiano Ronaldo, Alvaro Morata and Dybala together at some point.
“With Dybala, it’s the club who are in charge of making the decisions. I’m fortunate to coach winners like him. The final decisions are made by the directors.”

    OLED NEWS
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s rant about Son Heung-min on Sunday bizarrely mirrored a statement he made in the reverse fixture earlier this season.
The Red Devils boss was left fuming when Son hit the floor following a hand in the face from Scott McTominay, which eventually led to Edinson Cavani’s goal being ruled out.
And while Man Utd went on to win the game 3-1, Solskjaer still proceeded to rage at Son in his post-match interview over what he felt was a dive.
In a strange rant, he said: “If my son stays down for three minutes and he needs his 10 mates to help him up, he won’t get any food.”
But this is not the first time Solskjaer has used this sort of analogy when reacting to what he feels is diving from Spurs players.
Back in October during Tottenham’s 6-1 win over United at Old Trafford, Solskjaer gave a similar response following an altercation between Erik Lamela and Anthony Martial.
Lamela appeared to thrust an elbow into Martial, before the Frenchman responded by slapping the Spurs forward, a spat which lead to the United man being sent off as Solskjaer’s men proceeded to suffer a heavy defeat.
After that incident, the Norwegian said: “If that was my son he would live on water and bread for two weeks, that’s not how I want my players to react.”

    BOUBA TRAP
Leicester are reportedly ‘confident’ of beating Manchester United and Tottenham to the signature of Boubakary Soumare.
The Frenchman, 22, has been a key part of Lille’s title bid with the Ligue 1 leaders three points clear of Paris Saint-Germain.
Having made a name for himself at Stade Pierre-Mauroy after leaving PSG as a youngster, he has aroused the interest of several teams.
Newcastle failed with a £35million bid for Soumare in the January of last year.
And Premier League outfit Leicester are the latest to make their interest known with just over a year left on his contract.
According to the Star, the Foxes are hunting down a deal worth around £30m.
Bolstering the side for Champions League football will be a priority for Brendan Rodgers’ side, if they qualify for the competition.

    NOT KEANE
Manchester United legend Roy Keane delivered a hilarious deadpan joke at Jamie Redknapp’s expense while analysing the disciplinary breach at Leicester City.
The Cork native and Redknapp have developed a bit of needle in their back and forths in the Sky studio over recent months.
And Keane took the opportunity presented by the more serious situation surrounding Foxes’ aces being dropped by Brendan Rodgers to get a great one-liner in out of the blue that was aimed at his colleague.
He said: “(Brendan’s) clearly disappointed with their behaviour.
“I’m led to believe they were caught in a hotel room watching A League of Their Own.”

    HALF MEASURES

    JESS THE ONE I WANT
European giants PSG, Real Madrid and Inter Milan are all monitoring Jesse Lingard’s situation at Manchester United, according to ESPN.
The England forward has been a revelation for West Ham since arriving on loan in January, bagging eight goals in nine games.
The Hammers want to make the move permanent but face competition from big clubs on the continent with Lingard having one year left on his Old Trafford deal.
He wants to play Champions League football and could well help David Moyes’ side qualify for the tournament with the Irons sat in fourth spot.

    ERLI CALL
Manchester United will reportedly make a quick decision on whether or not they’ll sign Erling Haaland in order to avoid a repeat of the Jadon Sancho saga of last summer.
The Red Devils still hold an interest in landing the prolific Borussia Dortmund hitman, despite being snubbed by the Norwegian and his agent – Mino Raiola – in December 2019.
But unlike their ill-fated pursuit of Sancho in 2020, the United brass will be ‘urged to assess whether Haaland is a viable option’ as soon as possible.
That’s according to The Athletic, who claim Old Trafford chiefs want to know if the 20-year-old will be out of their price range in order to identify alternative targets.
United were left scrambling to sign a winger last summer after Dortmund refused to budge on their £104million valuation of England international Sancho.
The Red Devils ended up signing 18-year-old Amad Diallo on transfer deadline day after it became apparent they wouldn’t be able to land Sancho.
Haaland is United’s top priority this summer, although they’re also thought to be interested in signing Tottenham striker Harry Kane.

    MASE SOME NOISE
Manchester United skipper Harry Maguire shouted praise at Mason Greenwood for his role in Edinson Cavani’s crucial goal against Spurs.
The Red Devils came from behind to win 3-1 against Jose Mourinho’s men with Greenwood adding some gloss to the scoreline late on.
But it was the England youngster’s pinpoint cross for the Uruguayan striker’s diving header that was the real moment of quality.
Sky Sports cameras overheard centre-back Maguire saying: “Brilliant, Masey!”
Manchester United came from behind once again to win 3-1 at Tottenham and dent the hosts’ top-four hopes with just seven Premier League games remaining. 🔴Report & highlights 👇— Sky Sports Premier League (@SkySportsPL) April 11, 2021

    DAN NOT THE MAN
Dan James missed out on the Manchester United squad against Spurs.
The Red Devils came from behind to beat former manager Jose Mourinho’s side 3-1.
But there was no room for Welsh speedster James who was carrying an injury from the Europa League game against Granada.
Pre-game, boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said: “We’ll freshen it up but also keep doing the same things that we have done.
“Also, Dan had an injury from Thursday night, so he couldn’t be with us. Mason [Greenwood] has also had some niggles, so we gave him a rest from the start.”

    SONBURN
Son Heung-min was close to tears after Spurs lost 3-1 to Manchester United despite the South Korean bagging the opening goal of the game.

    SOL-LESS?
Jose Mourinho snapped back at Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after the Norwegian slammed Spurs’ Son Heung-min.
VAR gave a foul against Scott McTominay for a brush of the arm on Son who hit the deck hard and the incident caused an Edinson Cavani goal to be very harshly ruled out.
The Norwegian said: “If my son stayed down for three minutes and he needed ten mates to help him up, he wouldn’t get any food.”
Mourinho fumed in his press conference and replied: “I just want to say Sonny is very lucky that his father is a better person than Ole.
“Because I think a father — and I am a father — you have always to feed your kids no matter what they do. If you have to steal to feed your kids, you steal.”

    FRED LETTER DAY
Roy Keane was less than impressed with Fred’s performance against Tottenham on Sunday, despite a rare goal for the Brazilian.
With Manchester United a goal down in North London, the midfielder popped up to poke home a rebound for the leveller for his first Prem strike in over two years.
The 49-year-old told Sky Sports: “Just as well Fred scored – I thought he was dreadful. I don’t know what people are talking about, saying he played well. I thought he was dreadful.
“But again good link-up play from United – what they’re good at. Quick play. One-two in and around the box. Poor defending from Tottenham and Fred on the spot.
“I thought he was even going to miss, but lovely movement from United. Lovely little play [from] Fernandes, this is what good players do – quick play, clever play, intelligent play.
“Keeper maybe could have done better, defenders with their hands up in the air. Slow.
“But just good movement from Cavani, lovely goal and United never looked back after this.”

    KANE-D
Manchester United have been handed a mega blow in their pursuit of Harry Kane.
The Red Devils are already unwilling to do business at Tottenham’s asking price of £120m.
And The Athletic indicates that even if they were to stump up that kind of money, Daniel Levy would be unwilling to sell the striker to any English club.

    PAU WOW WOW
Manchester United are obsessed with Villarreal’s Pau Torres, according to reports in Spain.
The Villarreal defender, who is available for £43m has become a ‘priority transfer’ for the Red Devils, AS claim.
United are said to be sold on the idea of the 24-year-old becoming Harry Maguire’s long-term defensive partner.
And this idea would have been reinforced by Victor Lindelof’s error against Tottenham yesterday.
However United will face some competition from Real Madrid, who AS claim are being more subtle in their interest.

NOT IN IT FOR THE LONG HAAL
Manchester United are set to make a quick decision on whether to sign Erling Haaland or not, according to reports.
The Athletic claim the Red Devils are desperate to avoid a protracted transfer saga like last year’s with Jadon Sancho.
United attempted for ten weeks to agree a fee with Haaland’s club Dortmund for Sancho but nothing came of it.
They are also aware that the package of a £150m transfer fee, Haaland’s wages and payments to agent Mino Raiola currently fall outside their wage structure.
David de Gea is the Red Devil’s highest paid player at the moment at £375,000-a-week.
Should United not sign Erling Haaland they could move on to other targets like Tottenham’s Harry Kane, or even keep Edinson Cavani.

    ‘THE GAME HAS GONE’
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer declared himself furious with VAR’s decision to overturn Edinson Cavani’s goal at Tottenham.
He said: “The game has gone. Game has absolutely gone.
“If that’s a clear and obvious error, it’s an obvious error he had to look at it. It was a perfectly good goal.
“We shouldn’t be conned. I have to say, if my son stays down for three minutes and he needs his 10 mates to help him up, he won’t get any food.
“We weren’t conned, the referee was.”
    GOOD MORNING MAN UTD FANS
Man Utd came from 1-0 down to beat Tottenham 3-1 at the new White Hart Lane yesterday.
Edinson Cavani had a first-half goal controversially ruled out after Scott McTominay’s hand brushed Son Heung-min’s face in the build up.
Ref Chris Kavanagh was told to check the screen by VAR before striking the goal off.
And just minutes later the South Korean had put Spurs 1-0 up.
United’s players looked on the brink of losing their heads but re-grouped at half-time and came out fighting after the break.
The Red Devils were as unstoppable as Tottenham were pathetic in the second-half and goals from Fred, Cavani and Mason Greenwood saw United walk away with all three points.
Despite the positive result for his team, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer blasted VAR for the decision to disallow Cavani’s strike and hit out at ‘con artist’ Son.
Solskjaer told Sky Sports: “The game has gone, absolutely gone. If that’s a clear and obvious error, it’s one he [the ref] had to look at. It was a perfectly good goal, we shouldn’t be conned. I have to say, if my son stays down for three minutes and needs ten mates to help him, he won’t get any food because that’s embarrassing.
“We weren’t conned, the ref was. That kick-started us. [Before] we played like a team who had played in Europe on Thursday.
“Top reaction, we played great stuff second half. We felt the injustice and showed good character to come back. We can’t let those decisions ruin this good season for us. The goals we scored were excellent.
“Cavani showed why he’s a No9. Fred even scores, that shows just how good we were. It was an excellent [disallowed] goal. Unfortunately the ref decided we are not playing football or VAR decided. I’m absolutely shocked if that is a foul.”
Ex-United boss Jose Mourinho also lamented VAR – which made a convenient distraction from his team’s shambolic collapse.
The Portuguese tactician told Sky Sports after the final whistle: “My opinion it was a good game but we didn’t deserve this result at all. We were unlucky because maybe Pogba should get a red card for an elbow on Serge Aurier.
“I don’t know anything anymore [about VAR]. I watched Fulham vs Wolves, I don’t understand anything anymore. Sometimes you get, sometimes you don’t get, I don’t know how to comment. You don’t celebrate a goal because you are afraid.
“It is difficult for everybody. For us, the players, the referees. Lots of contradictions and decision you don’t understand very well. That’s not my problem, I cannot fix this.”
    MOUR WAR
Jose Mourinho launched a scathing attack on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the pair clashed in the tunnel after the final whistle.
The Tottenham chief was furious after Solskjaer accused Son Heung-min of conning officials to get Edinson Cavani’s strike chalked off by going down too easily under a flailing arm from Scott McTominay.
Seething Solskjaer said: “If my son stayed down for three minutes and he needed ten mates to help him up, he wouldn’t get any food. The game has gone — absolutely gone.”
But former United boss Mourinho hit back as the row escalated when he told reporters: “I just want to say Sonny’s very lucky that his father is a better person than Ole.”
Cavani thought he had given United the lead when he slotted home in the 33rd minute. But referee Chris Kavanagh ruled it out after VAR advised him to check the pitchside monitor.
It looked a harsh decision and the Red Devils were further incensed when the South Korean fired Spurs ahead seven minutes later. Old Trafford manager Solskjaer — despite his side’s sterling second-half comeback — was still angry about the incident afterwards.
The Norwegian said in a television interview moments after the final whistle: “It was a perfectly good goal. We weren’t conned, the referee was.”

    SUN BACK PAGE
Here is the back page of Monday’s Sun newspaper after a thrilling weekend of Premier League action at both ends of the table.

    WE STAND WITH YOU
Tottenham have released a statement slamming ‘abhorrent’ racial abuse of Son Heung-Min following Sunday’s 3-1 defeat to Manchester United.
The South Korean star came under attack from sick trolls online in the wake of the crunch clash in London. Son was involved in a controversial first-half VAR decision that saw a United goal questionably chalked off.
And the ace has since received vile racist messages on the internet from cowardly trolls. Spurs put out an official club statement on Sunday night taking aim at the people behind the messages.
And they proudly told Son: We stand with you. The statement read: “Another matchday and more abhorrent racial abuse suffered by one of our players.
“This has again been reported to the platforms and we shall now undertake a full review alongside the Premier League to determine the most effective action moving forward.
    “We stand with you, Sonny.”

    ‘CON ARTIST’
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has blasted Son Heung-Min for ‘conning’ the ref during Manchester United’s 3-1 win at Tottenham.
And the Red Devils boss believes ‘the game has gone’ after his side had a goal ruled out by VAR after an incident involving Spurs ace Son and Scott McTominay.

    MOUR PAIN
Jose Mourinho lashed out at VAR after Tottenham’s 3-1 defeat to Manchester United.
Some feel Tottenham were also fortunate to get away with having a United goal in the first half disallowed by VAR. Scott McTominay was judged to have raised his hand into Son’s face in the build-up for an Edinson Cavani goal.
VAR controversially ruled the strike out moments before Son then put Spurs ahead. But despite appearing to benefit from the video system, Mourinho lashed out at it for, in his eyes, failing to spot an apparent elbow by Paul Pogba on Serge Aurier.

    Subs
    MASON GREENWOOD (FOR RASHFORD 72) – 8
Nearly made an instant impact, cutting in from the left and firing in a shot just wide.
Then brilliantly set up the second for Cavani with a superb in-swinging cross from the right-hand side.
And finished off a great cameo with a third for United in added time.
    NEMANJA MATIC (FOR FERNANDES 90) – N/A
Did not have enough time to make any sort of impact.
    MARCUS RASHFORD – 6
No major contributions in the match but did make runs which drew defenders away from Cavani and Pogba.
Looked gun shy when he went through in the second half, failing to pull the trigger in front of goal.
    EDINSON CAVANI – 8
Was given very, very little to feed off in the first half an hour as those behind him failed to link the play.
The first time he was given a sniff of goal he dispatched the chance with supreme class, only for it to be controversially ruled out.
Got booked for a challenge on Joe Rodon as tempers flared, but took his winner sensationally with a textbook diving header.

Wolves’ hosting of Sheffield United on Saturday has been pushed back to 8.15pm to avoid clashing with the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral.
All EFL 3pm kick-offs that day have also been moved as well out of respect for the passing of HRH Prince Philip, with Watford’s trip to Luton brought forward to 12.30pm.
Wolves were due to kick off at 3pm but the switch means there is now an almost eight-hour gap between the two Premier League fixtures that day.
Newcastle host West Ham at 12.30pm in Saturday’s only other top-flight game.
A Premier League statement read: “As a mark of respect for His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, the Premier League has rescheduled the match between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Sheffield United due to be played on Saturday 17 April at 15:00 BST.
“The fixture will now kick off later in the day at 20:15 BST to avoid a clash with the Ceremonial Royal Funeral. Newcastle United’s home match against West Ham United will remain as scheduled at 12:30 BST. Both matches will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.”
All EFL 3pm kick-offs have been moved to either 12.30pm or 5.30pm, while National League fixtures have been brought forward to 12.30pm.
    IBIZA ROCKS
PSG offered Neymar a private jet, hotel chain shares and to put his name on the Eiffel Tower in an unsuccessful attempt to sign him in 2016.
The French club’s owner Nasser Al Khelaifi was desperate to bring in the Barcelona star and reportedly launched the cash at him during a meeting in Ibiza.
But despite the stunning bonuses included in the transfer, Neymar turned down the chance to join PSG and instead signed a new contract with Barcelona.
Wagner Ribeiro, Neymar’s former agent told L’Equipe: “In the summer of 2016 we met in Ibiza, Neymar, his father, Nasser Al Khelaifi and Olivier Letang, the sports director of the PSG.
“It was on the top floor of a hotel, nobody saw us. Neymar earned €11 million and Nasser offered us €26m.
“We asked him €40m and he told us that he would study it, that he would give him shares in a hotel chain, a private jet and that he would put his name on the Eiffel Tower. A madness.”
Ribeiro states that Financial Fair Play coupled with the fact that the player did not want to join PSG at that time scuppered the deal.
But of course just one year later the Brazilian did move to the French capital for £198m – and the Eiffel Tower was lit up in the club’s red and blue with ‘Welcome Neymar Jr’ written alongside.
    SILVA LINING
Here’s how Chelsea could line up for the crunch Champions League quarter-final second leg against Porto on Tuesday night.
The Blues have a 2-0 lead from the first leg with two ‘away’ goals.

    SAN THE MAN
Paris Saint-Germain will reportedly move to sign Jadon Sancho if star striker Kylian Mbappe fails to pen a new contract.
Mbappe’s current deal with the French champions – who he joined in August 2017 – is set to expire next summer.
The France international has flirted with a move away from the Parc des Princes and has shown little sign of committing his long-term future to the Parisians.
And with Mbappe not making his intentions for the future clear, The Athletic claims PSG have identified England international Sancho as a replacement for the World Cup winner.
PSG’s reported interest in signing Sancho will be a blow to Premier League big boys Manchester United.
The Red Devils are long-term admirers of the 21-year-old, who they tried to sign last summer, and are said to still be interested in acquiring his services.

    ‘ABHORRENT RACIAL ABUSE’
Tottenham are discussing what to do about social media after Son Heung-min became their latest star to suffer racist abuse online.
The South Korean star was abused following Sunday’s 3-1 Premier League home defeat by Manchester United.
It came a week after his team-mate Davinson Sanchez was subjected to racist posts following a 2-2 draw at Newcastle.
Spurs said in a statement: “Another matchday and more abhorrent racial abuse suffered by one of our players.
“This has again been reported to the platforms and we shall now undertake a full review alongside the Premier League to determine the most effective action moving forward.”
Son scored to put Tottenham ahead in Sunday’s defeat after he was involved in an incident with United midfielder Scott McTominay which led to the visitors having a goal disallowed.
    CRIS CROSS
Cristiano Ronaldo endured a difficult day at the office despite Juventus’ win over Genoa.
The Bianconeri maintained third position in the Serie A table with the 3-1 victory, in which Ronaldo failed to score.
That disappointment was used to explain his somewhat controversial reaction at the final whistle.
Pictures of the winger, 36, tossing his Juve shirt to the ground were noticed by a number of fans, who reacted angrily.
But, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, it was clear to those present that he had heard a ball boy call out for the shirt.
And Ronaldo dropped it to the ground before the youngster gleefully gathered it up.
The Portuguese star nevertheless let his frustration show in the dressing room, where he reportedly punched a wall.

    TUCH LOVE
Chelsea have been handed a huge transfer boost after Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele named Thomas Tuchel as his favourite coach.
The French winger has failed to light up LaLiga as many expected following a £97million move from Borussia Dortmund in 2017.
It has led to rumour that the cash-strapped Spaniards may look to flog the 23-year-old, with Chelsea previously linked.
And it appears Dembele would be keen to link up once again with his former Dortmund boss Tuchel.
Speaking to BeIn Sports, the 23-cap France international said: “Thomas Tuchel is my favourite coach.
“Under him I played more on the right side before I was moved to ten or in the middle.
“If he had stayed, it would have been very difficult to leave Dortmund. I would probably not have done it.”

    CITY BOY
Manchester City are set to sign Brazilian wonderkid Kayky from Fluminense, according to reports.
The Premier League leaders have been linked with the forward since the start of the year.
And according to Fabrizio Romano, City are now pushing ahead for a deal worth £8.7million plus £14.75m in potential add-ons.
Kayky is on course to receive a five-year contract but would not arrive at the Etihad until the summer of 2022.
The 17-year-old is a product of the Fluminense academy, which has produced the likes of Real Madrid legend Marcelo and Liverpool’s Fabinho.
Dubbed the ‘next Neymar’ in his homeland, the winger is blessed with pace and close-control.
Manchester City are keen on Brazilian Kayky
    CZECH OUT
Arsenal are facing a huge injury crisis ahead of their Europa League return trip to Slavia Prague.
The Gunners easily swept aside Championship-bound Sheffield United 3-0 on Sunday – but it came at a cost.
Rising star Bukayo Saka came off injured, and he could join a packed treatment room at the Emirates.
Speaking after the game Gunners boss Mikel Arteta confirmed left-back Kieran Tierney is ‘probably out for the season’ while David Luiz will also miss the Slavia game.
He added: “Emile [Smith Rowe] and Martin [Odegaard], we don’t know yet.
“Bukayo [Saka], we’ll see how he develops in the next few days. He had discomfort in his thigh and it’s the last thing we need because we are missing some big players at the moment.”
Captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang also missed the game at Bramall Lane with a cold, but is expected to return to face Slavia Prague.

    MOUR TO DO
Jose Mourinho needs to ‘take responsibility’ for Tottenham’s troubles, according to Sky Sports pundit and former Spurs star Jamie Redknapp.
The Londoners surrendered a 1-0 lead on Sunday to meekly lose 3-1 at home to Manchester United.
Jose Mourinho copped some flak from Jamie RedknappCredit: Getty
Speaking after the game, the 47-year-old said: “What Jose has also done in this period is he’s made them a really tough watch.
“You can say what you like about Spurs but they always been a good football team, they’ve always had a style. If Spurs fans were here right now watching that, they wouldn’t enjoy it one bit.
“Too often I watch this side and there’s no flair or excitement. I don’t think this is a bad squad of players, I’ve said it before and I stand by it.
“Jose is looking at it and trying to blame everybody else, he has to take responsibility.
“When you’re a good manager, you organise your team to get that result whatever it takes. A great manager would find a way to get them organised.”
    NOT DONN YET
AC Milan are reportedly struggling to make progress on Gianluigi Donnarumma’s contract situation – opening the door for Chelsea.
The 22-year-old goalkeeper’s deal expires in the summer and negotiations are said to be moving slowly.
A pay increase from his net salary of £100,000-a-week to a £133,000-a-week wage is on the table but no deal has been signed.
And while Milan have spoken calmly about the situation in previous months, technical director Paolo Maldini was described as frustrated when referring to the situation in the week.
He said: “These are choices everyone has to make.
“I am not here to judge, I am here to do what is best for the club. I also know that you need two parties to be happy in order to strike a deal.”
La Gazzetta dello Sport note that little progress has been made over a renewal with the club and player far apart in their ideal terms.

    CZECH IN
Mikel Arteta was upbeat about Arsenal’s Europa League chances after Sunday’s victory over Sheffield United.
The Gunners head to Slavia Prague on Thursday with the quarter-final tie level at 1-1, although the Czech team hold a key away goal.
Prague have already beaten Leicester, Bayer Leverkusen and Rangers this season but Arteta was determined to be positive going into the clash.
The 39-year-old told MOTD: “Overall we had a really good performance – 3-0 away from home is never easy.
“We had to be fully focused on the league, there is a lot to play for.
“The best way to prepare for Prague was by winning today.
“We are going to to win the game at Prague. That’s it, that is our mindset.”

    CAM-ETH THE HOUR
Eduardo Camavinga is set to reject any new contract offer Rennes make him this summer, according to The Athletic.
The 18-year-old wonderkid has long been on the radar of Real Madrid and is expected to move to one of Europe’s top clubs.
However, the big question is whether he will depart at the end of this season or run down his contract until 2022 in order to broaden his options.
Agent Jonathan Barnett, who also represents Mason Mount, Jack Grealish, Saul Niguez and Gareth Bale has stated his view that Camavinga is ready to play in the Premier League next season.

    IN FOR THE KYL
PSG are ready to move for Jadon Sancho if they cannot agree a new contract with Kylian Mbappe, according to David Ornstein.
The Parisian hierarchy are keen admirers of the England international, who Dortmund have stated could leave the club for the right price.
Manchester United are also ready to make a move for Sancho this summer, but will not consider doing business at the £110m asking price Dortmund set last year.

    BRAZIL-LIANT
Manchester City are on the verge of signing Kayky from Fluminense, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The up front fee would be around £8.7m with a potential £14.75m to be earned by the Brazilian club in add-ons.
City have already had great success delving into Brazil’s Serie A for play-offs, with Gabriel Jesus arriving from Palmeiras in 2016 for £27m plus add-ons.
Manchester City are working since February to sign Kayky from Fluminense. Last details and work permit in order to complete the deal for €10m + add ons [potential €17m]. Five years contract. 🔵 #MCFCKayky is expected to join Man City in summer 2022.(Oh, what a goal… 👇🏻) https://t.co/ze8a5k9EWr— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) April 12, 2021

    GOOD MORNING FOOTY FANS
Yesterday was an action packed day of Premier League football at both ends of the table as the race for the Champions League took another exciting turn.
Manchester United came from behind to beat Tottenham 3-1 away.
Goals from Edinson Cavani, Fred and Mason Greenwood put Spurs to the sword after Heung Son-min had given them a 1-0 half-time lead.
But it was Cavani’s disallowed goal that caused the most controversy after Scott McTominay’s hand brushed Son’s face in the build up.
Tottenham released a statement slamming ‘abhorrent’ racial abuse of Son after the game.
The South Korean star came under attack from sick trolls online in the wake of the crunch clash in London.
Earlier in the day rampant West Ham scored three for the third week running and threatened to bottle it for the third week running.
Third placed Leicester were the victims as David Moyes’ men took a 3-0 lead through a Jesse Lingard brace and a Jarrod Bowen strike.
Kelechi Iheanacho scored twice to worry the hosts but the Hammers held on to reclaim fourth spot and move within a point of the Foxes.
After the game Brendan Rodgers said he feels let down by four Leicester stars who broke Covid rules.
James Maddison, Ayoze Perez and Hamza Choudhury flouted restrictions by going to a party last Saturday, along with injured Harvey Barnes and they were all left out the squad.
Arsenal beat Sheffield United 3-0 away in the late game to move ninth thanks to two from Alexandre Lacazette and one from Gabriel Martinelli with the Blades as good as down.
But the Gunners have been dealt major blow after Mikel Arteta confirmed Kieran Tierney will miss the rest of the season – with Bukayo Saka and Martinelli also picking up injuries on Sunday.
Earlier in the day, Newcastle nabbed a huge win at Burnley winning 2-1.
Despite the positive result for his team at Spurs, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer blasted VAR for the decision to disallow Cavani’s strike and hit out at ‘con artist’ Son.
And finally, Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final between Chelsea and Manchester City will still go ahead, The Sun understands.
Ministers and sports chiefs will meet today and agree to allow the event to go ahead.
It will likely open with a minute’s silence and black armbands for the players.
The Government has told The FA the decision is up to them — but the 5.30pm kick-off may change if it clashes with Prince Philip’s service.

    TEARS FOR TIER
Arsenal have been dealt major blow after Mikel Arteta confirmed Kieran Tierney will miss the rest of the season – with Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli also picking up injuries on Sunday.
The Gunners left-back, 23, was substituted at half-time in the defeat by Liverpool last weekend. Tierney was injured in a clash with James Milner and scans have revealed he suffered ligament damage.
And after Arsenal beat Sheffield United 3-0 on Sunday, Arteta admitted: “Kieran is out, probably for the season.”
And the news only got worse from there, with Arteta also confirming Saka and Martinelli had picked up knocks at Bramall Lane.
Saka hobbled off the pitch with 20 minutes to play after starring in the No10 role after the Gunners boss gambled with Granit Xhaka at left-back in the place of Tierney.
Martinelli was also taken off with just under ten minutes of the game to go having scored just minutes earlier. And Arteta revealed both players had picked up injuries in a major blow ahead of Thursday’s crunch Europa League quarter-final second-leg away to Slavia Prague.

    SUN BACK PAGE
Here is the back page of Monday’s Sun newspaper after a thrilling weekend of Premier League action at both ends of the table.

    ROD RAGE
Brendan Rodgers says he feels let down by four Leicester stars who broke Covid rules.
James Maddison, Ayoze Perez and Hamza Choudhury flouted restrictions by going to a party last Saturday, along with injured Harvey Barnes and they were all left out the squad for the 3-2 defeat at West Ham.
Rodgers said: “From a personal perspective, I was bitterly disappointed, I’ve got to say. It was a breach. My objective coming into Leicester City was to create a standard on and off the pitch.
“Particularly at this time when we’re challenging and fighting to finish off a really exciting season — that standard and the values we have as a club, they fell well below that.
“The guys who weren’t involved in the squad at West Ham would have been. However, as a consequence of their behaviour, they weren’t.
“It’s a mistake they’ve made. I won’t hold it against them. It’s not what their identity is as young guys. They’ve made a mistake and been punished for it. It’s in the past now. It wasn’t ideal (timing). But that’s how strongly I felt on it. We were coming into a game that was a very important game for us. But some things are bigger than football.”

    PLAY ON
Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final between Chelsea and Manchester City will still go ahead, The Sun understands.
Ministers and sports chiefs will meet Monday and agree to allow the event to go ahead.
It will likely open with a minute’s silence and black armbands for the players.
The Government has told The FA the decision is up to them — but the 5.30pm kick-off may change if it clashes with Prince Philip’s service.
The Football League has already told its clubs that 3pm games may be moved ‘to avoid a clash’.

    ARTETA REACTS
The Arsenal manager was delighted with his side tonight.
He is also optimistic on the Bukayo Saka injury but is not sure what it was.
I am really happy with the performance and the result and we scored really nice goals. We played at a high level I think. I had the feeling the boys were at it and understood how we had to attack. We had good distances to play with each other we knew how to adapt. Xhaka could play at left-back more as he has a lot of quality.I hope it isn’t bad (Saka injury) as the last thing we need is another forward player being out. He felt discomfort in his thigh but we don’t know yet what it is.Lacazette is playing really well at the moment and tonight was a great performance from him and I’m so pleased he got his goals. It’s the perfect preparation for Thursday, especially with the clean sheet.Mikel Arteta
    ASSIST FROM PARTEY
It was a great assist from him tonight, should Gunners fans expect more of this from the midfielder?

    LACA REVIEW
The Gunners skipper gives his reaction after his side’s 3-0 win.
It was important to win after the last few results when we were sad about the result. It’s always good for a striker to score. I had a bad miss on Thursday so it was good to get the confidence back. We want to play and score and it was good tonight. We know we have the quality and when everyone is focussed we can do well.Alexandre LacazetteBT Sport

    HOW IT STANDS
Another busy weekend of Premier League football comes to an end.
Arsenal move into the top half with that win and now sit just four points behind rivals Spurs who are 7th.
Sheffield United remain on 14 points after 31 games played.

    FT: SHEFFIELD UTD 0-3 ARSENAL
An Alexandre Lacazette double and a Gabriel Martinelli goal in between is enough for the Gunners.
Their first clean sheet in 15 games too!
Just the warm-up they need ahead of a big one on Thursday night.
The only concern is that injury to Saka who is able to walk onto the park to shake hands at the end.

    PEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!
All over at Bramall Lane: SHEFFIELD UTD 0-3 ARSENAL
    SHEFFIELD UTD 0-3 ARSENAL
90+2′ Ampadu is shown a YELLOW CARD for a tackle on halfway as Arsenal play out the final stages.
    SHEFFIELD UTD 0-3 ARSENAL
    FOUR MINUTES ADDED
    SHEFFIELD UTD 0-3 ARSENAL
Va Va Vroom, you might say! 50 in the league for Lacazette at Arsenal.
50 – Alexandre Lacazette is the sixth Frenchman to score 50 Premier League goals for a single club, with four of the six doing so for @Arsenal (also Thierry Henry, Olivier Giroud and Robert Pires). Outpost. pic.twitter.com/tp5N7WdbcJ— OptaJoe (@OptaJoe) April 11, 2021

    SHEFFIELD UTD 0-3 ARSENAL
89′ Almost number four as Pepe rushes through on the right and bears down on goal.
He unselfishly looks for Nketiah inside him but Stevens cuts it out. It was probably easier going for goal himself
    Lacazette makes it three
    SHEFFIELD UTD 0-3 ARSENAL
The matchwinner is given a rest by boss Mikel Arteta.

    OFF – Lacazette
    ON – Nketiah

    SHEFFIELD UTD 0-3 ARSENAL
88′ Chance for Mousset after a cut-back down the left.
He has a lot of time but finishes like a player with no confidence. Though if he is fifth choice striker behind the guys in front then no wonder!
He skews it well, well wide with a strike from inside the box.
    SHEFFIELD UTD 0-3 ARSENAL
    85′ That seals it!
Partey with a fabulous ball from halfway in behind Ampadu who was caught out by Lacazette’s dummy run.
The Frenchman is clean through and gives Ramsdale the eyes from the edge of the area before closing his foot on it and whipping it into the bottom corner.
Clinical from the skipper of the evening!
    Alexandre Lacazette

50 GOALS IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE FOR ARSENAL FOR ALEXANDRE LACAZETTE!
    GOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAALLLLLL!!!
    SHEFFIELD UTD 0-2 ARSENAL
He has just left the park but this was Martinelli’s goal that took Arsenal into a comfortable lead.
Gabriel Martinelli doubles Arsenal’s lead 🙌The simplest of finishes for the Brazilian after Pepe’s saved shot fell to him! pic.twitter.com/R8glchBKbU— Football on BT Sport (@btsportfootball) April 11, 2021

    SHEFFIELD UTD 0-2 ARSENAL
82′ And McBurnie’s recovery didn’t last long as the substitute is substituted.
    Sheff Utd change:

    OFF – McBurnie
    ON – Mousset

    Arsenal change:

    OFF – Martinelli
    ON – Elneny

    SHEFFIELD UTD 0-2 ARSENAL
    80′ McBurnie re-enters the game.
Pepe slides a clever through ball for Martinelli in behind but there’s just too much on it and a sliding Brazillian can’t slide in to make contact.
    SHEFFIELD UTD 0-2 ARSENAL
79′ Osborn with a clever flick over the top for Baldock who does well to lift it into the box towards McBurnie.
He got a kick in the build-up and couldn’t move too quickly to get on the end of that and the move breaks down.
Mari is shown a YELLOW CARD for the earlier tackle on McBurnie who is down and requires treatment.
    SHEFFIELD UTD 0-2 ARSENAL
78′ McBurnie does well in midfield to skip by a couple of challenges in the middle of the park and squeeze the ball to Brewster.
Brewster – without a goal for Sheffield United this season – opts to have a go from 30 yards which hits Holding.
    Martinelli taps home for Arsenal
    SHEFFIELD UTD 0-2 ARSENAL
75′ Good play from Lacazette again as he fools Ampadu and is brought down on the edge of the box.
It is half a yard outside the area on the left of the area – nearly a penalty.
VAR with a quick check and it’s a relief they get one right.
    SHEFFIELD UTD 0-2 ARSENAL
74′ Lacazette almost has a tap-in but for good defeding from Egan.
A ball in from deep almost finds the Frenchman himself on the penalty spot.
    SHEFFIELD UTD 0-2 ARSENAL
72′ A shocking square-ball in his own defensive third by Lundstram and he finds Pepe.
He drives towards the box and rolls a shot towards the far corner which Ramsdale parries out so poorly.
Martinelli follows it in and has a simple task to tap it into the empty net from three yards!

    THAT’s ALL FROM ME
That’s all from me and the coverage of the game between Tottenham and Man Utd!
But fear not, there’s another Premier League game underway between Sheffield and Arsenal, and luckily we’re covering it here at SunSport!
Sheffield United vs Arsenal Live Blog
    Have a good one!
    CAVA BIEN
JUSTICE for Edinson Cavani, revenge for Manchester United and a near-fatal blow to Tottenham’s hope of Champions League qualification.
United had been seething with rage ever since a Cavani ‘opener’ had been ruled out because of a supposed foul by Scott McTominay on a theatrical Son Heung-Min.
Their rage was only worsened when Son stroked Spurs into the lead soon after – but a second-half fight-back earned Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men a fourth straight Premier League win.
Fred equalised and Cavani netted with a diving header from a gorgeous Mason Greenwood cross as United avenged their 6-1 defeat by Spurs back in October.

    ED IT IN
Five of Edinson Cavani’s seven Premier League goals for Manchester United have been headed; indeed, only Dominic Calvert-Lewin has scored more headed goals in this season’s competition (six) than the Uruguayan.
    McTOMINAY SPEAKS
Scott McTominay told Sky Sports: “It’s a brilliant win.
“We were frustrated at half-time but the message was clear from the manager: keep calm. That’s what he kept saying to the players, that there’s no need to panic.
“We’ve been here before, we know we have good characters in the team and good players who want to take the ball against a really difficult team.
“We have to start getting better in the first 30 minutes of games. By our standards that wasn’t good enough, but there were nothing but positives in the first half.
“The referees have to make decisions – personally I’m not a fan of VAR, but it’s part and parcel of the games.
“It was obviously a goal, the referee made a mistake, but it happens: everyone makes mistakes in life.”

    35 NO GOAL!
After reviewing the incident, the referee overturns the goal for a foul by McTominay in the build-up!
It’s an incredibly soft challenge, it was an accidental trailing arm which JUST caught Son.
Whoever the decision went against, they would be absolutely furious and unfortunately for Man Utd it’s gone against them!
Luckily for McTominay – who is already on a booking – there will be no further implications.

    TOTTENHAM 0-0 MAN UTD
    26. Lucas tries to break into Man Utd’s penalty area, but Shaw does well to use his body and block the Brazilians path.
Shaw then draws a free-kick breaking up Spurs’ momentum.
Tottenham have had the better half so far, Gary Neville on Sky Sports’ commentary, has highlighted how slow United’s attack is.
Rashford being the only pacy player in the four attacking players starting.
    TOTTENHAM 0-0 MAN UTD
    24. Pogba shows some fancy footwork to avoid the challenge of his nearest marker.
Cavani then tries to play a lofted pass to Wan-Bissaka, out wide on the right-hand side.

Neither side have really tested the goal keeper and we’re halfway through the first half.

    TOTTENHAM 0-0 MAN UTD

Shaw does well to recover and beat the Spurs right-back to the ball – winning back possession for United.
    TOTTENHAM 0-0 MAN UTD
    12. Fred is played down the line and he’s being tracked by Spurs right-back, Aurier.
The Brazilian tries to cut inside of his marker, but loses his footing and Tottenham regain possession.
    TOTTENHAM 0-0 MAN UTD
    10. A fairly even opening ten minutes to the game, neither side’s midfield have got going.
And possession is breaking down a lot in the centre of the pitch.
    TOTTENHAM 0-0 MAN UTD
    9. Man Utd deal with the corner.
    TOTTENHAM 0-0 MAN UTD
    8. Shaw gets played around and Lucas is played in down the right-hand side.

    TOTTENHAM 0-0 MAN UTD
    7. Pogba catches Aurier on the side of the head with his forearm, the Spurs defender rolls around for a little bit before sitting up to complain.

    TOTTENHAM 0-0 MAN UTD
    4. Reguilon tries to make progress down the left-hand side but he is put under pressure by Rashford.
The England International knocks the left-back off balance and Reguilon goes to ground.
Reguilon appeals for a free-kick, but the referee waives away his claims.
    TOTTENHAM 0-0 MAN UTD
    3. Both teams are trading possession in the middle of the pitch.
    TOTTENHAM 0-0 MAN UTD

Son then switches play out to Lucas on the right flank.

Pogba future EXCLUSIVE, Kane ‘could cost Man Utd over £120m’, Johnstone return, Haaland transfer LATEST

MANCHESTER UNITED players would be ‘devastated’ if Paul Pogba left Old Trafford this summer, SunSport has exclusively revealed. Meanwhile we’ve the latest on Sam Johnstone’s potential return from his loan at West Brom, as well as gossip on Harry Kane and Erling Haaland.

Stay up to date with our blog, below, for all the latest from Old Trafford…
    HAALAND BOOST
Borussia Dortmund may have to sell one or two stars in the summer transfer window.
That is according to Marca, who claim that Dortmund may have to cash in on players like Erling Haaland or Jadon Sancho in order to cover a net loss of roughly €80-90million (£69-78m).
The club’s sporting director Michael Zorc confirmed those numbers, which come as a result of a financial impact that occurred from the fans not attending the Signal Iduna Park during the coronavirus pandemic.
Zorc said during a press conference: “If we have to play the rest of the season without fans, as seems to be the case, we will have losses of between €80 and 90 million, based on that we will have to act.”
Haaland can be signed for only £75m next season due to a condition in his contract and that means Dortmund may have to sell him in the summer in order to avoid missing out on some major sums.
The star striker has been linked with a move to Manchester United, who have been embroiled into an intense bidding war with other Premier League rivals as well as clubs from Spain and France
    REAL CHELSEA STRATEGY
Real Madrid have been operating a crafty plan to sign Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe, who has previously linked with Manchester United.
In fact, Real have been implementing the same strategy they used to sign Thibaut Courtois and Eden Hazard from Chelsea.
That is according to Football Espana, who claim that Los Blancos have been working on dissuading Mbappe from signing a new contract with PSG.
That would allow them to either pressure the reigning Ligue 1 champions to sell in the summer with a significant price reduction or wait until next year when the star striker’s contract expires

    KANE WARNING
Ex-Tottenham gaffer Harry Redknapp has warned Spurs superstar Harry Kane that the grass is not necessarily greener on the other side.
Reports suggest that Kane will push for a departure in the summer if Spurs fail to qualify for the Champions League.
The England captain has been linked with a move to Manchester United but Redknapp is adamant that there’s really only one club in the Premier League that can guarantee him titles and Champions League football and that is Manchester City.
He told talkSPORT: “A year ago I said he’d never leave Tottenham.
“His life is great, all the money he ever needs, he’s a family man and all of his family are settled, it’s a big club, fantastic training ground, fantastic stadium and with a team that I thought would be challenging this year.
“You’d like to think he’d stay and take the club forward. Without him, it would be very difficult for Tottenham to look to be at a top club.
“Where do you go? He wants Champions League football. Unless you go to Man City, you’re not guaranteed it beyond next season… that top four is chopping and changing”
    MAJOR KANE PREDICTION
Former Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp believes Harry Kane won’t leave Spurs at the end of the season.
Redknapp insists that reported Manchester United target Kane won’t go anywhere unless chairman Daniel Levy’s financial demands are met.
Reports suggest that the star striker will push for an exit if the north Londoners fail to qualify for the Champions League but Levy appears to have placed a staggering £120million asking price on him.
Redknapp told talkSPORT: “I think he will [stay], unless he goes to Brentford! No, but seriously I think he’ll stay.
“He ain’t going to go unless Daniel does a deal that he wants. Make no mistake, Daniel drives the hardest bargain in the world.
“Unless he gets the deal he wants and it suits Tottenham then he won’t go. He’s going to demand the king’s ransom for him. If he doesn’t get the money to rebuild the team then Harry won’t be going anywhere”
    STAR SWAP
Paris Saint-Germain may try to sign Cristiano Ronaldo if Kylian Mbappe joins Real Madrid in the summer.
That is according to Tuttosport, who claim that PSG will need someone to replace Mbappe if Real manage to land the star striker at the end of the season.
That is why the reigning Ligue 1 champions will make a move for Juventus star Ronaldo.
Juve have claimed they don’t want to sell the Portugal international but if it comes down to that then they may ask for Mauro Icardi to go the other way

    HAALAND RECORD
Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland has set a new speed record in the Bundesliga.
That makes Haaland the fastest player in the competition as he overtook Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies.
The star striker was clocked at 22.39 mph (36.04 km/h) during Dortmund’s 3-2 win over Stuttgart on Saturday at the Mercedes-Benz Arena.
The Norway international has been linked to a mega-money move in the summer with the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea all interested
    SOLSKJAER PRAISE
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has praised Tottenham’s star attackers Son Heung-min and Harry Kane.
Solskjaer described Kane, who has been linked with a move to Old Trafford recently, as a revelation and insists his team will have to defend well against him.
The United boss said: “They’re a team full of quality players from the keeper to wide left.
“But of course Son and Kane have been a revelation this season and they caused us loads of problems in the first game [earlier in the season] as well and we know we have to defend well against them”
    KANE THEY SIGN HARRY?
Manchester United have been long-term admirers of Tottenham star striker Harry Kane, according to ongoing reports.
However, signing Kane will be no easy feat for any Premier League team as Spurs are not willing to let their star striker join a domestic rival.
Plus, the England captain is rated at about £120million, which poses as a sky-high fee following the coronavirus pandemic’s financial impact on the sport.
The 27-year-old has stated that he will clarify his future after the summer’s delayed Euro 2020.
But recent reports suggest that he will push for an exit if Tottenham fail to qualify for the Champions League
    HAALAND INSANE TERMS
Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola will try to make his client the first ever player to be paid a staggering £1million per week!
That is according to the Daily Mirror, who claim Raiola sees Haaland as a once-in-a-generation type of player that deserves to receive record-breaking sums.
That wouldn’t sit well with the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool following the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
But there’s a sense that Abu Dhabi-owned Manchester City and Qatari-backed Paris Saint-Germain could all rise up to that kind of challenge

Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho will take on his former club without Ben Davies and Matt Doherty who are out with an ankle and muscle injury respectively
    PAUL THE KING’S MEN
Manchester United players would be devastated if Paul Pogba left the club.
Pogba has been repeatedly linked with a move away because of his agent Mino Raiola and that has led to an uneasy relationship with a section of the fans.
But SunSport understands that the star midfielder is well-liked and respected at the back and his team-mates wouldn’t take it well if he left the Red Devils.
A source claimed: “Paul may be regarded with suspicion by a lot of the fanbase because of his agent courting other clubs, but there is no doubt where the players stand with him.
“They recognise he is one of the team’s stars and he is as desperate as they are for the club to be successful again.
“He is well-liked by all his team-mates and no one wants him to leave.
“But they also understand if a player is unhappy, it usually leads to his departure.

Arsenal are planning a shock swoop for Manchester United loanee Jesse Lingard.

    SAM-THING SPECIAL
Manchester United are keen on bringing Sam Johnstone back to Old Trafford in the summer.
SunSport understands that United have been keeping an eye on Johnstone and are impressed with his stunning displays at West Brom ever since his £5million move in 2018.
The Red Devils are going to move for the talented goalkeeper if either David de Gea or Dean Henderson leave at the end of the season.
And it doesn’t look like the Manchester giants are going to have both De Gea and Henderson next season as none of them is keen on playing second fiddle

But United want Rice to help provide the base in their midfield to build a team capable of challenging for the Premier League title next season.
That has led to Old Trafford bosses wondering if they could broker a deal which would see Lingard play a makeweight in an £80million package to take Rice to the North-West.
Yet West Ham are in no mood to be bullied and want to seal a straight deal for Lingard this summer.

    HAALAND BOOST
Borussia Dortmund may have to sell one or two star players in the summer transfer window.
That is according to Marca, who claim that Dortmund may have to cash in on stars like Erling Haaland or Jadon Sancho in order to cover a net loss of roughly €80-90million (£69-78m).
The club’s sporting director Michael Zorc confirmed those numbers that come as a result of a financial impact that occurred from the fans not attending the Signal Iduna Park during the coronavirus pandemic.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is facing growing resentment from players who are upset over being blamed for the team’s problems instead of him.
SunSport understands that senior players believe Arteta is all ‘emperor’s new clothes’ by talking a good game but failing to actually deliver.
They are also questioning why he happily revelled in leading the club to FA Cup glory late last season but is not so keen on taking responsibility for poor results throughout this campaign.
This marks the first sign of cracks beginning to appear within the Emirates over the way the Spaniard has gone about his job in the first 15 months he has been in charge at the helm

    GOOD MORNING FOOTBALL FANS
Arsenal stars have turned on boss Mikel Arteta, SunSport can exclusively reveal.
Senior players are increasingly frustrated at the way boss Arteta has been able to paint a picture that the fault for the side’s poor season is all down to them.
It is the first sign of cracks beginning to appear within the Emirates over the way Arteta has gone about his job in the 15 months he has been in charge.
They are questioning why he happily revelled in leading the club to FA Cup glory last season but is not so keen on taking responsibility for poor games.
Sticking with the Gunners, they are set to join the race for Jesse Lingard this summer.
The England midfielder has rejuvenated his career at West Ham following his loan switch in January.
Lingard has just 12 months left on his current contract, and ideally United would like him to sign another – if only to ensure they get top dollar should they sell.
Meanwhile a married Premier League star snubbed snaps of his lovechild, we can reveal.

We told last week how the ace fathered a baby girl with event hostess Jaqueline Sousa during a secret two-year fling.
And Bayern Munich’s chances of progressing into the Champions League knockout have taken a major blow.
Star man Robert Lewandowski has revealed he will not be fit for the return leg in Paris.

    THE REAL DEAL
Real Madrid beat rivals Barcelona 2-1 at home in an entertaining, rain-soaked El Clasico on Saturday to go top of LaLiga.
Karim Benzema put the champions in charge at a soggy Bernabeu stadium with a delightful backheel in the 14th minute.
And a deflected Toni Kroos free kick doubled Real’s lead in the 28th.
Barca hit back on the hour mark through Oscar Mingueza to revive their hopes.
And the defender almost found the equaliser later on to rescue a point.
The Catalans also had a huge penalty appeal waved away when Martin Braithwaite fell following a challenge by Ferland Mendy.
Meanwhile, Real midfielder Casemiro was sent off in stoppage time for picking up two yellow cards in the space of a minute.
There was more drama to come when Barca substitute Ilaix Moriba hit the crossbar in the fourth minute of added time.
The hosts survived the nail-biting finish to complete a sensational week.

According to French newspaper L’Equipe, Thauvin’s future remains unclear, despite there being just three months remaining on his contract.
There are, however, reports coming out of Italy suggesting he will commit his future to the club.
According to TuttoMercato, the appointment of former Argentina boss Jorge Sampaoli has persuaded Thauvin to stay in France.
It is believed talks between the World Cup winner’s representatives and several clubs – including Leicester and Crystal Palace – have been held.

    STATEMENT WIN
This was some performance from Chelsea today. Runaway 4-1 winners over Crystal Palace and a breakout display from Kai Havertz.

    BELL-TER
Jude Bellingham achieved another remarkable milestone with his first Bundesliga goal.
The England midfielder, 17, lashed home from the edge of the area as Borussia Dortmund kept alive their slim hopes of a top-four finish with a 3-2 comeback win at Stuttgart.

    MAUR PLEASE
Maurizio Sarri has reportedly rejected the chance to become Fiorentina’s new manager.
Football Italia claims the former Chelsea boss, 62, has snubbed the opportunity to take charge of the floundering Tuscans amid links with Napoli and Roma.
Sarri, who has been out of work since being axed by Juventus last year, is eager to return to football this summer.
The tactician has already rejected approaches from Marseille and Fenerbahce as he does not want to take charge of a new club mid-season.

    MARRED BY BLUNDER
Referee Andre Marriner forgot to get Manchester City and Leeds players to take the knee before kick-off of their game.
Marriner and the players stood for their period of silence to mark the death of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh before the start of the match, which Leeds won 2-1.
But the official then didn’t remember to order the usual gesture in support of the fight against discrimination.
When he blew for the start of the game there was some confusion as a number of Leeds players started to kneel, only for play to go on.
The Premier League say the incident was an oversight.
