France 3-0 Wales LIVE RESULT: Mbappe, Griezmann and Dembele secure crushing win despite Benzema penalty miss

TEN-MAN Wales have been soundly beaten by France after Neco Williams was harshly sent off.Kylian Mbappe, Antoine Griezmann and Ousmane Dembele were on target to secure a crushing win for the French.
However Danny Ward will have done his chances of obtaining the number one jersey for Euro 2020 no harm after pulling off a spectacular save from Karim Benzema’s penalty, following Williams’ handball.
Benzema, playing for France for the first time since 2015, pulled his penalty low to the left, but the Leicester goalkeeper was equal to it.
    GOODNIGHT FROM NICE
That’s all from the French Riviera where Wales are the latest team to succumb to the world champions.
Rob Page’s warm-up plans were disrupted by an incredibly harsh red shown to Neco Williams in the first half, but there were still some positives for the Dragons ten days ahead of their Euro 2020 opener.
Despite conceding three, the performance of goalkeeper Danny Ward was excellent, the highlight of which was the save that kept out Karim Benzema’s penalty with the score at 0-0. The Leicester stopper has ramped up the pressure on regular number one, Wayne Hennessey.
It’s Albania next for Wales for another warm-up this Saturday, and then things gets serious: their first game is against the Swiss in Baku on June 12th.
    PAGE’S WALES ROBBED
Rob Page was also critical of the decision to send off Neco Williams for deliberate handball. Wales’ interim head coach feels the dismissal ruined what was shaping up to be an intriguing content.
It’s very harsh. We’ve looked back at it at half-time, and the fourth official apologised to me which makes it a little worse. Any defender that jumps to clear the ball, his hands come up in a natural position like that, it’s impossible for him to do anything else. He’s not done it intentionally, and that changes the course of the game and absolutely spoils it.Rob Page
    BLANK AND BLEUS
While it’s been a difficult night for the Welsh with ten men, world champions France have been busy setting themselves up nicely for another international tournament.
Didier Deschamps’ team have now won three on the bounce without conceding a goal.
3 – French national team have kept three clean sheets in a row (2-0 in Kazakhstan, 1-0 in Bosnia, 3-0 against Wales) for the first time since August-October 2017, equalling their best such run under Didier Deschamps. DAN’S THE MAN
Forward Daniel James paid tribute to goalkeeper Danny Ward for his display in Nice, but only after blasting referee Luis Godinho for his decision to award France a first half penalty and send off Neco Williams.
I’m not one to talk about referees, but it’s a friendly game and he’s taken ten minutes to look at the incident, and then decided that it’s clear and obvious. I don’t know how it can be, [Benzema’s] two yards out. I’m not even sure it’s a penalty because we’ve been told that if he’s in a natural position and he can’t do anything about it, then it’s not even a penalty. It wasn’t on purpose, even their players were asking not to send him off.
[Danny Ward] was absolutely fantastic. I know we conceded three goals, but I thought he was the best player on the pitch. He made some unbelievable saves, and kept four or five out. If it wasn’t for him, it would have been even more.Daniel James
    COLWILL POWER
One other positive for Rob Page to take from tonight is the introduction of 19-year-old Rubin Colwill for his international bow.
Hopefully, the Cardiff midfielder has a long career for his country ahead of him.

    FT: FRANCE 3-0 WALES
France prevail at the Allianz Riviera with a comfortable three-goal win over Wales courtesy of strikes from Kylian Mbappe, Antoine Griezmann and Ousmane Dembele. Despite losing Neco Williams to a preposterous red card in the first half, there were plenty of positives for Rob Page to take, not least the performance of goalkeeper Danny Ward, who saved a Karim Benzema penalty.
PEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!THE ACTION COMES TO A CLOSE IN NICE!
    FRANCE 3-0 WALES
90+2. “Welcome to the Championship, son.”
Kieffer Moore gives Jules Kounde the traditional Cardiff City welcome by flailing his arms into the face of the youngster as he attempted to break free on the far touchline.
    FRANCE 3-0 WALES
    90. There will be two minutes of stoppage time, according to the fourth official.
    FRANCE 3-0 WALES
    89. I think Rob Page knew his starting 11 against Switzerland next week, all being well, but the performance of Danny Ward in goal this evening must surely have him in contention to be first-choice ahead of Wayne Hennessey.
    FRANCE 3-0 WALES
    86. Benzema must have avoided these multiple substitutions in order to get his goal, but it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen.
His latest attempt is a crisp curler a yard high and wide of the far post.

    FRANCE 3-0 WALES
    84. Monaco’s Wissam Ben Yedder is thrown into the mix as France’s latest substitute. He’s on for Antoine Griezmann.
    FRANCE 3-0 WALES
    83. Benzema denied again!
Ward produces another excellent save to keep out the striker’s header from a corner, and then the Welsh win a free-kick in the clamour for the loose ball.
    FRANCE 3-0 WALES
    82. The game has long been up for Wales, but here’s a moment to treasure for young Rubin Colwill.
The 19-year-old is on for his international debut in place of Joe Morrell.
    FRANCE 3-0 WALES
    79. What does Karim Benzema need to do to score on his return to the national team?
Having had a first half penalty brilliantly saved, he is now denied by the woodwork after doing everything right.
The striker chests down Jules Kounde’s pull-back to take himself away from Joe Rodon, and then unleashes a thumping shot on the turn.
It looks destined for the bottom corner, but thumps the inside of the post and rebounds out to Ousmane Dembele, who converts first time into the empty net.

    GOOOOOAAAAAAALLLLL!!OUSMANE DEMBELE MAKES IT THREE!!
    FRANCE 2-0 WALES
    76. Brooks goes for the dink over the wall, but only succeeds in striking it.
    The changes goes.
    FRANCE 2-0 WALES
    75. Ramsey earns Wales a free-kick with a bursting run, and – for his involvement – Varane earns himself a yellow card.
This is a promising position for the visitors with which to test Lloris.
    FRANCE 2-0 WALES
    73. Kylian Mbappe’s night is over. The young superstar is replaced by Ousmane Dembele.
It’s been refreshing to see the PSG forward in action without Neymar attempting to get all of the attention.
    FRANCE 2-0 WALES
    72. Dan James’ pace on the counter to continues to trouble the host, but that conundrum may have just been dealt with.
The forward is off for David Brooks, moments after a promising move ends with Morrell’s hopelessly overhit cross.
    FRANCE 2-0 WALES
    70. France threaten, first with the pace of Conan on the right, and then with the skill of Mbappe on the right.
Eventually, Benzema takes charge and strikes at goal with a shot that’s deflected wide for a corner.
    FRANCE 2-0 WALES
    68. Morrell does more donkey work in midfield, again to excellent effect.
    FRANCE 2-0 WALES
    66. Wales’ best moment of the night.
Ramsey slips James in on goal from the right with a beauty of a pass, presenting him with the time and space to strike across Lloris.
The Manchester United man does everything right, but the France goalkeeper is equal to it, pushing the ball out and away from Moore following up.

    FRANCE 2-0 WALES
    64. Two more subs for the French.
Here come Kingsley Coman and Mousa Sissoko, it’s au revoir to Paul Pogba and Corentin Tolisso.
    FRANCE 2-0 WALES
    63. An early indication for Davies as to the size of the task Wales are facing.
The defender loses his man at a corner but fortunately wins a free-kick in his tussle with Kimpembe.

Netherlands 2-2 Scotland LIVE RESULT: Depay denies Scots famous win with last gasp second goal

SCOTLAND have been denied a brilliant win against Holland thanks to an equaliser from Memphis Depay.Despite being depleted by coronavirus, Steve Clarke’s men have given a great account of themselves against the Netherlands.
Jack Henry gave the Tartan Army the lead with an early low drive.
But the advantage was short lived as Memphis Depay levelled things for the Dutch.
Kevin Nisbet then popped up to put the Scots in front again in Faro but Barcelona target Depay had the last word in the 90th minute.
    WHERE TO GO NEXT
We have all the best Scottish-related football stuff on the Scottish Sun Football page.

Everything you need to know ahead of the Euros 👉 HERE

    CLARKE REVIEW
Steve Clarke was diappointed with the refereeing performance as it robbed his side of a good win.
But he was delighted with the way his side played.
It was a good performance and we are disappointed not to win.I’m not one to talk about referees as I’ve been in trouble a lot for that recently! The decision to award a free kick at the end was embarrassing.A draw is a good result but a win would have been better. It’s not about the result but the performance. It could have been a great result but the referee decided that wouldn’t be the case.Good stuff from David (Turnbull) and he can be pleased with his performance. We got the press right, sometimes. And when we did we looked a good team.It was nice for Kevin to get that goal and it’ll be a proud moment for him.Steve ClarkeSky Sports
    MOVING ON…
We move on now to Luxembourg on Sunday for the final preparation game before the Euros.
The feel-good factor remains, let’s hope it kicks on again then!
    JACK BUZZ
Jack Hendry says there were plenty of positives to take from tonight.
He was pleased to notch his first goal for Scotland too.
I thought the boys were brilliant tonight and we were two minutes away from a great result. The gameplan was to step up and win the ball high up which I did and it fell for me and I hit it and thankfully it went in.There are loads of positives to take from that.Jack HendrySky Sports
    MAN-BYS
Here, our man Andy Devlin runs the rule over Steve Clarke’s men.
This is Andy’s thoughts on the players that were involved.
CRAIG GORDON: In for his second Scotland start in succession. Impossible to say whether he’ll get the nod against the Czechs, but the Hearts star did his chances no harm at all with a stunning late save to deny van Aanholt…7.
JACK HENDRY: Fired Scotland in front with a sweet strike from the edge of the box. The centre back came out of nowhere to bag his first international goal. Towering performance from the defender….8.
    Jack Hendry strikes the opener
LIAM COOPER: Provided tremendous cover after Denzil Dumfries had got the wrong side of Andy Robertson. Read the danger superbly and linked really well with Hendry. Replaced by Gallagher on the hour mark….7.
KIERAN TIERNEY: Blasted wide in the opening minutes and was Scotland’s best attacking outlet on the night. Dove-tailed brilliantly with Robertson on the left-hand side, making a series of surging runs deep into Dutch territory…8.
JAMES FORREST: With Nathan Patterson and Stephen O’Donnell left behind at Scotland’s Spanish training camp, the Celtic star was deployed at right wing-back. Given his injury problems this season it’s not surprising he looked off the pace…6.
STUART ARMSTRONG: Given a rare start in the absence of John McGinn and while he played his part in Scotland’s opener the Southampton man didn’t do enough to make a case for a start against the Czech Republic…6.
    Stuart Armstrong
DAVID TURNBULL: The Celtic midfielder was handed his Scotland debut. It proved a real baptism of fire, allowing Memphis Depay to run off him as Holland drew level. Guilty of trying to force the final pass…6.
CALLUM McGREGOR: Spent most of the night chasing shadows in the middle of the park. Like his team-mates, he couldn’t keep possession of the ball long enough to influence anything in Holland’s final third…6.
ANDY ROBERTSON: Despite being deployed in the more advanced role, the Scotland skipper found himself covering Tierney’s rampaging runs. But it was his outstanding cross which picked out Nisbet….7.
    Skipper Andy Robertson
RYAN CHRISTIE: Showed desire and determination in the press which brought about Hendry’s quick-fire opener for the Scots. Guilty of giving the ball away too cheaply, but definitely improved as the match wore on…6.
LYNDON DYKES: Difficult night for the line Scots striker. Got one sniff of the Dutch goal and he probably should have scored. Blasted straight at Tim Krul when he had to keep the ball low. Replaced by Nisbet…6.
    Subs:
KEVIN NISBET: What an impact. The super sub scored with his first touch, just a minute after replacing Dykes. It was a brilliant finish and what a way to score your first international goal….6.
DECLAN GALLAGHER: Won two or three crunching tackles….5.
RYAN FRASER: Provided Scotland with a decent out-ball after coming on…4
    SCOTT McKENNA: Put himself about..2
GREG TAYLOR: Replaced Andy Robertson and slotted into left-back for the closing 20 minutes…3.
BILLY GILMOUR: Capped a week to remember as he made it on for his Scotland debut..2.
    MOUR OF THE SAME
And in a night of firsts, it’s hard to forget it was this kid’s first cap tonight.
Going to put my neck on the line here and say it won’t be his last.

Our match report is now on site as we review the big talking points from a good night in Faro, Portugal.

    DEBUT BHOY
David Turnbull was delighted to get his first Scotland cap and felt his side were hard done by in the end.
I really enjoyed it and it’s a great achievement to get it under my belt. There isn’t much you can do about that kind of free-kick but I’m not sure it was one.I feel we might have been hard done by.David TurnbullSky Sports
FIRST GOAL FOR SCOTLAND – NISBET
And another first international goal, this time for Hibs star Kevin Nisbet

FIRST GOAL FOR SCOTLAND – HENDRY
In case you missed it, here was the Jack Hendry goal that had Scotland in front early.

    FT: NETHERLANDS 2-2 SCOTLAND
Despite missing seven of the squad, it was a very good Scotland performance.
Goals from Jack Hendry and Kevin Nisbet had Scotland twice in front.
Memphis Depay twice equalised for the Dutch.
The second a shocker of a decision from a referee who had a poor night.
But Steve Clarke won’t mind – this was the ideal preparation.
    Scotland celebrate Nisbet goal
    PEEEEEEEEEEP!

    NETHERLANDS 1-2 SCOTLAND
87′ The referee must be looking for Depay’s shirt at full-time!
This time he is backing in to Hendry on the edge of the box and goes down easily to get the free kick.
The referee delays his decision a minute before blowing up.
    NETHERLANDS 1-2 SCOTLAND
85′ Taylor does exceptionally well to get to the byline on the left beyond Berghuis.
His cross is aimed at Armstrong who almost gets there but is beaten by de Ligt.

84′ The free-kick is headed away comfortably.
    NETHERLANDS 1-2 SCOTLAND

    OFF – David Turnbull
    ON – Billy Gilmour

    NETHERLANDS 1-2 SCOTLAND
81′ It’s scrappy at the back as the Netherlands pile on the pressure.
The latest ball in is kept alive by Depay and Klaassen’s shot is cleared off the line by Taylor but the flag was up.

    NETHERLANDS 1-2 SCOTLAND
    81′ CLOSE!
Gordon deals with it and Netherlands come again.
Van Aanholt it is driving inside the box on the right.
His shot takes a nick and Gordon dives well to his left to send it wide.
    NETHERLANDS 1-2 SCOTLAND
79′ Depay takes it and it hits the back of McGregor’s head and away for a corner.
McGregor needs a minute after that one as it hurt.

“He is much too good to remain sat on the bench for two seasons. He needs to get regular playing time soon.
“He is still young, but the time is flying past. Joining a club like Borussia Dortmund would have been better for him.
“Donny was a perfect fit for Ajax’s system, but he does not fit in at United.”

    MAGUIRE UPDATE
Manchester United star Harry Maguire has issued a promising injury update.
Maguire told SunSport: “The fear that I had was missing everything.
“I knew it was quite a bad injury. When I got the results of the scan, I knew it would be unlikely I would made the Europa League final — but we also never ruled it out.
“I would jump out of bed and put weight on my ankle, which I probably should not have done, and test it to see if the pain was still there. Every morning, I woke up wishing the pain would be gone.
“Unfortunately, it was not to be. I knew for me to start the Europa League final was very unlikely but I hoped to play some part. However it was out of reach and just not possible. Ahead of the final, I could still not run on the ankle.
“But it is now improving and getting better, so I am just looking forward to the Euros”
    TAP OUT
Manchester United have received a major transfer boost in their bid to sign Bayer Leverkusen defender Edmond Tapsoba

Greenwood has been named on the shortlist alongside some of the Premier League’s top young stars.
Liverpool ace Trent Alexander-Arnold, West Ham star Declan Rice, Chelsea player Mason Mount, Manchester City wonderkid Phil Foden and Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka also made the shortlist.
Unfortunately Greenwood won’t get to compete in Euro 2020 due to an underlying injury problem
    WALK THE LINE
Gary Lineker believes Tottenham superstar Harry Kane could join Manchester United.
Lineker told Goal: “I would love to see him at Barcelona but they are going for [Sergio] Aguero and are short on cash at the moment.
“I think it is between Manchester City, Manchester United and maybe PSG.
“They have [Mauricio] Pochettino and he would win things, guaranteed. I think it is more likely that one of the Manchester clubs can afford him outside of Chelsea.
“I don’t think he would go to Chelsea and do that to the Tottenham fans but who knows”
    GETTY IMAGES
    UNITED REPS
Manchester United will have four players representing England in the summer’s Euro 2020.
Those are Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, Dean Henderson and Marcus Rashford.

They will then face Scotland and the Czech Republic in their other group stage matches

That would see Ronaldo returning to United since his departure for Real Madrid in 2009
    DE-FFICULT COMPETITION
Barcelona are also interested in signing Sevilla star Jules Kounde in the summer transfer window.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barca are looking to compete against Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal over Kounde’s signature.

Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal are set for a bidding war over Sevilla star Jules Kounde.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the Andalusians won’t stand in Kounde’s way if a potential suitor meets their financial demands.
The talented centre-back, though, is rated at £56million this summer transfer window.
The 22-year-old is currently on international duty with France ahead of Euro 2020
    TRIPPIER REACTS
Atletico Madrid star Kieran Trippier was linked with a move to Manchester United in January and reports suggest the Red Devils could re-ignite their interest this summer.
However, Trippier insists he is happy in Spain as he just won LaLiga with Atletico.
The England international said ahead of Euro 2020: “I’m enjoying myself so much out there. I’m just fully focused on doing the best I can for my club. I’m absolutely delighted I won the title out there.
“People might not focus on me as much because I’m out there in Spain, the Premier League is the Premier League, but I’m enjoying myself, loving it, my family are enjoying it, there’s sunshine every single day so I just need to keep doing as well as I can for Atletico.
“I’m delighted I’ve done that and now I’m part of England. I know Gareth watches the games along with his staff, so for me it’s just about doing as well as I can at the highest level to try to be selected for as long as I can with the national team”
    GETTY IMAGES
    STRONG WILL
Manchester United youngster Brandon Williams doesn’t mind the fact he didn’t play much this season and is determined to show his true worth in the upcoming campaign.
Williams said: “Obviously, I haven’t played as many games as I did last year but honestly that doesn’t bother me.
“I’m here, I’m training with the best every single day, I’m improving. I know I’m improving and the players, my team-mates, know I’m improving, and the management knows I’m improving.
“So that’s the most important thing, just improving as a player and keeping that mentality that ‘who knows when I’m going to play’, and I need to be ready when I do”
    RONALDO BOOST
Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo is highly unlikely to join Paris Saint-Germain in the summer transfer window.
That is according to The Athletic, who claim Ronaldo may not be moving to Paris despite his uncertain future in Turin.
The star forward has been linked with a sensational return to Manchester United in the summer.
However, both sides have remained coy so far…
    PLACING A CAL
Manchester United and Arsenal are interested in signing AC Milan star Hakan Calhanoglu in the summer transfer window.
According to Tuttosport, the Gunners and United would be keen to land Calhanoglu as the playmaker will be available for a free transfer after he and Milan failed to agree new terms.
The Turkey international is being tipped as Martin Odegaard’s replacement at No10 in north London.
The Red Devils, on the other hand, are not currently looking for an attacking midfielder
    CAVANI OPENS UP
Manchester United star Edinson Cavani revealed that he came close to joining Boca Juniors so that he could nearer to his family.
Cavani told TyC Sports: “The conversation with Boca was real.
“I had a clause that I could use at the end of the season and after a few months here in Uruguay, to see what is happening after almost two years of pandemic, to lose many things, not to be able to see your family.
“Everything begins to be very heavy and I analysed the idea of getting closer to my family”
    PLAYER OF THE MONTH
Edinson Cavani has been named Manchester United’s player of the month.
This marks Cavani’s second consecutive award in the last two months.
The star striker has been impressive this season with 17 goals and six assists in 39 appearances across all competitions.
That is why the Uruguay international was awarded with a contract extension

    NO GREEN LIGHT
Manchester United ace Mason Greenwood has withdrawn from the England squad for Euro 2020 due to an underlying injury.
Greenwood had been named in Gareth Southgate’s provisional, 33-man squad for this summer’s delayed tournament.
But the young forward has been forced to pull out due to a pre-existing knock and thus failed to make Southgate’s final 26-man group.
United confirmed the 19-year-old would be withdrawn for his own safety, unwilling to risk pushing him any further after a gruelling season
    SAUL SEARCHING
Atletico Madrid star Saul Niguez would prefer a move to Manchester United in the summer.
Saul celebrated his second LaLiga title with Atletico but often saw his name omitted from Diego Simeone’s starting line-up.
Thus, according to the Daily Star, the midfielder is open to a move and has been linked with United, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain.
However, the Spain international would rather join the Red Devils
    RAPH IDEA
Manchester United are still keeping tabs on Real Madrid ace Raphael Varane and have high hopes of signing him in the summer transfer window.
Varane’s contract runs out next year and Real could be keen on cashing in this summer in order to avoid the risk of losing him for free in 2022.
However, much is going to depend on the upcoming regime change at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Carlo Ancelotti has left Everton and returned to Los Blancos where he replaced Zinedine Zidane at the helm

    VAART ACHE
Rafael van der Vaart has told Donny van de Beek: You’ve bitten off more than you can chew in joining Man United.
The ex-Spurs ace told ESPN: “United could be a step too high for Van de Beek.
“If nobody leaves United during the summer, he is going to need to get lucky to break into their starting eleven.

    LION HEARTS
Gareth Southgate will have a limited squad to choose from when England face Austria tonight.
Stars from Chelsea, Man United and Man City are set to be given the evening off after their European exploits.
And that could see West Ham loanee Jesse Lingard start – despite missing out on Southgate’s Euros squad.
Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka is also in line to feature tonight after making the cut.
And Atletico Madrid’s Kieran Trippier – one of FOUR right-backs to be selected – could fill in on the left flank.

    CONTE ON ME
Spurs are reportedly in advanced talks with Antonio Conte to become their new boss.
Sky Sports Italy claims the former Chelsea manager looks set to take charge in north London after leaving Inter Milan.
Conte, who led Chelsea to Premier League glory in 2017, had just won the Serie A title.
And he looks set to pip Mauricio Pochettino to the Spurs hotseat, with PSG unwilling to part ways with the Argentine.

    ODE TO JOY
Martin Odegaard could be allowed to return to Arsenal next term on loan, according to reports.
Odegaard spent the second half of the season on loan to the Gunners from Real Madrid and manager Mikel Arteta wants to sign him on a permanent deal.
The 22-year-old attacking midfielder impressed at the Emirates but his future will depend on new boss Carlo Ancelotti, who replaced Zinedine Zidane.
According to reports in Spain, the Norway international will be allowed to head out on loan again, but it all depends on which other players leave the team first
    ROUD-TING FOR OLIVIER
Arsenal hero Thierry Henry has warned Chelsea not to let Olivier Giroud go in the summer.
Henry told Goal: “In the past three or four years it seems like he’s struggling for starts with his team at club level, but whenever he plays – whether it’s at club level or in the national team – he often delivers.
“Olivier is the type of striker that is kind of dying right now. The old school, holding the ball up, passing the ball to the winger, getting into the box and breaking your neck to score with a header.
“But what I like is how he puts people in a game. He’s very good, he will give the assist sometimes when you link up with him on a one-two”

    TAP OUT
Arsenal have pulled out of the bidding war to sign Bayer Leverkusen centre-back Edmond Tapsoba
According to the Daily Express, Tapsoba has been closely linked with the Gunners as manager Mikel Arteta is looking to bolster his defence.
However, the north Londoners’ hopes of signing him seem to have ran out because they can’t afford Leverkusen’s financial demands.
Chelsea and Manchester United are also interested in landing the Burkina Faso international
    BACK IN THE RAN
Manchester United have revived their interest in Atletico Madrid star Kieran Trippier.
According to Manchester Evening News, United are keeping tabs on Trippier ahead of this summer’s Euro 2020.
The Red Devils planned to make a move in January but the full-back’s betting suspension ended their plans.
The former Tottenham star is out of contract with Atletico next summer and has reportedly made arrangements to return to England
    KOUL STORY
Manchester United are determined to sign a top centre-back to partner up with Harry Maguire at the back in the summer transfer window.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, United are still interested in Napoli ace Kalidou Koulibaly.
Koulibaly continues to be in the Red Devils’ radar despite the fact he turns 30 years old this month.
The Senegal international is said cost around £35million this summer
    SANCHO REPLACEMENT
Borussia Dortmund are preparing for life after Jadon Sancho, according to reports from Germany.
According to SportBild, Dortmund have identified PSV Eindhoven ace Donyell Malen as Sancho’s replacement.
The England international is likely to join Manchester United, who have been keeping tabs on the star winger ever since last year.
However, the 21-year-old is currently focused on this summer’s Euro 2020
    HALA MADRID
Carlo Ancelotti has announced his return to Real Madrid ever since his exit in 2015 when he moved to Bayern Munich.
Ancelotti shared a tweet directed to Real’s fans who remember him well for winning the 2014 Champions League trophy.
The Italian boss also issued the following statement to Everton’s supporters: “I would like to thank Everton FC, my players and the supporters for giving me the opportunity to manage this fantastic and historical club.
“I decided to leave as I have a new challenge with a team that was always in my heart, Real Madrid”

    WALK THE LINE
Gary Lineker believes Tottenham star Harry Kane could join Manchester United, Manchester City or Paris Saint-Germain.
    ANCELOTTI SPEAKS
Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed he will be returning to Real Madrid and issued a message for Everton.
Ancelotti tweeted: “I would like to thank Everton FC, my players and the supporters for giving me the opportunity to manage this fantastic and historical club.

    TOP POG
Manchester United ace Paul Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola met with Juventus vice-president Pavel Nedved and spoke about his client.
That is according to Tuttosport, who claim that there is still talk of Pogba coming back to Juve this summer.
There is even speculation suggesting that there could be a swap deal involving United legend Cristiano Ronaldo.
That would see Ronaldo returning to Old Trafford since his departure for Real Madrid in 2009
    DE-FFICULT COMPETITION
Barcelona are also interested in signing Sevilla ace Jules Kounde in the summer transfer window.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barca are looking to compete against Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal over Kounde.

Arsenal are going to make a bid for Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana only if his appeal is successful, according to Football London.
Onana was handed a 12-month suspension in February after the banned substance Furosemide was found in his urine.

The Dutch champions and the Cameroon international have appealed the decision

In a statement, Ajax suggested the 25-year-old had accidentally taken one of his wife’s pills while feeling unwell.
The Eredivisie champions and the Cameroon international have appealed the decision which could play a major role in his final transfer fee.
According to NOS, Arsenal will still be able to land him for a bargain £1.7million fee if his ban is upheld.
If Onana’s suspension is shortened or overturned, then the Gunners will be forced to splash £7.75m in the summer transfer window
    AD-ED TO THE LIST
Wolves star Adama Traore has been linked with a move to Chelsea in the summer transfer window.
Traore struggled to shine this season as he only managed a mere three goals and three assists in 41 appearances across all competitions.

The 25-year-old is set to compete in Euro 2020 for the Spain national team
    KANE STOP HIM
Tottenham superstar Harry Kane won’t change his mind about leaving even if Mauricio Pochettino returns to Spurs.
The north Londoners are in talks to bring Pochettino back to the helm where he enjoyed tremendous success and played a major part in Kane’s development.

    ALARM BELS
A number of Belgium players have reportedly rejected the chance to receive a Covid-19 vaccination before Euro 2020.
Belgian outlet HLN claim some of Roberto Martinez’s players turned down the chance to take the Pfizer jab over fears it will wreck their chances.
The country’s government had given the green light for the Red Devils – the number one international team in football – to receive their vaccination.
Yet some players are worried about the potential side effects – tiredness, headaches, muscle and joint pain, chills and fever – that affects more than one in ten people.

    COVID SHOCK
Scotland’s plans for tonight’s friendly with Holland are in chaos after SIX players were ruled out over Covid-19 fears.
Midfielder John Fleck was KO’d yesterday after testing positive for Coronavirus.
Now another half-dozen players have been taken out of the squad as a precaution.
Stars David Marshall, John McGinn, Che Adams, Stephen O’Donnell, Grant Hanley and Nathan Patterson will miss the clash.
They have stayed at the Scotland camp in Spain while the rest of the group flew to Portugal for tonight’s bounce game with the Dutch.

    LION HEARTS
Gareth Southgate will have a limited squad to choose from when England face Austria tonight.
Stars from Chelsea, Man United and Man City are set to be given the evening off after their European exploits.

Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka is also in line to feature tonight.

    RIO CRITICISM
Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand believes England boss Gareth Southgate made a mistake when he called up the injured Harry Maguire.
Ferdinand said in his FIVE YouTube channel: “England needed another centre-back. This tells me he [Southgate] is definitely playing three at the back.
“Harry Maguire’s not even fit, I wouldn’t even take Maguire. You’re not fit, you’re not going to be fit for ages, it doesn’t make sense. I’ve been in squads with players who haven’t been fit and they don’t perform when they’re not themselves.
“It happened with Becks [David Beckham] and Wazza [Wayne Rooney]. As good as Maguire is, he’s not a Becks or a Wazza. I don’t think you should take someone who’s not 100 per cent fit. It’s hard to come back and get into a rhythm.
“That narrative ends up taking over the squad and it becomes the conversation and a distraction. Do we really need that? It’s pointless I think. Hopefully he proves me wrong, I would love it if he did”
    MAGUIRE UPDATE
Manchester United and England ace Harry Maguire has issued a promising injury update ahead of Euro 2020.
    SANCHO REPLACEMENT
Borussia Dortmund are preparing for life after Jadon Sancho, according to reports in Germany.
According to SportBild, Dortmund consider PSV Eindhoven ace Donyell Malen as Sancho’s replacement.
The England international is likely to join Manchester United, who have been keeping tabs on the star forward ever since last year.
However, the 21-year-old is currently focused on this summer’s Euro 2020 with the Three Lions

    BACK IN THE RAN
Manchester United have revived their interest in Atletico Madrid’s Kieran Trippier.
According to Manchester Evening News, United are keeping tabs on Trippier ahead of this summer’s Euro 2020 finals.
The Red Devils were set to make a move in January but the full-back’s betting suspension ended their plans.
The former Tottenham player is out of contract with Atletico next summer and has reportedly made arrangements to return to England
    BACK IN THE RAN
Manchester United have revived their interest in Atletico Madrid full-back Kieran Trippier.

The Red Devils planned to make a move in the January transfer window but the full-back’s betting suspension halted their plans.
The former Tottenham ace is out of contract with Atleti next summer and has reportedly made arrangements to return to England
    RASH DECISION
Darren Anderton has advised England manager Gareth Southgate to start the following players in Euro 2020.
Anderton told BritishGambler.co.uk: “Rashford has that pace, Sterling has that pace, Foden for me is the player that we just have to get the best out of.
“Play him wherever you think you’ll get the best out of him whether that’s playing him deeper or starting him a little bit further up the pitch.
“For me I’d probably play him a little bit deeper and play Rashford and Sterling up top. If not one of those two then maybe Sancho”
    PFA AWARDS
Some of England’s most talented youngsters have been nominated for the Men’s PFA Young Player of the Year award.
Liverpool ace Trent Alexander-Arnold, West Ham star Declan Rice, Chelsea player Mason Mount, Manchester City wonderkid Phil Foden, Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka and Manchester United player Mason Greenwood made the shortlist.
All of them will be playing in Euro 2020 except for Greenwood, who has been sidelined due to an underlying injury problem.
    WALK THE LINE
Gary Lineker believes Tottenham star striker Harry Kane could join Manchester United after Euro 2020, where he will captain England.
“I don’t think he would go to Chelsea and do that to the Tottenham fans but who knows
    SOUTHGATE ON TRENT
England boss Gareth Southgate blasted recent reports suggesting Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold would be axed from his Euro 2020 squad after including the talented right-back to his final group.
Southgate said: “I spoke to Trent three weeks ago. There were stories over the last couple of weeks with lots of strange headlines, I have no idea where they have come from.
“I felt that there were stories that ran that were so far off the truth. I read stories about me that aren’t true but when it’s a player they may feel like they’re reading it so it may be true.
“Last night we were dealing with that, in the morning he’s taking set pieces preparing for tomorrow and then he’s reading that he is not going to the Euros.
“That’s the world I live in but I want to protect my players. I spoke to Trent last night to say ‘don’t know where this is coming from, it’s nonsense’. People jump on it and say I have an agenda or don’t like the kid. It is an incredible situation”
    GETTY IMAGES
    SOUTHGATE IMPROVING
England boss Gareth Southgate insists he is still improving at the national team’s helm.
Southgate said: “Then I was a 17-year-old apprentice like I was at Crystal Palace and now I’m probably a 23-year-old player.
“I’ve only managed 200 games so in terms of experience, I’ve got a lot of experience now of as higher-pressured job as you can have experience of big matches with the national team.
“I still know that I’ll be better again in two years’ time and I’ll be better again in four years’ time because I’ve got the desire to improve, learn, reflect, get better and I want to be the best possible coach and manager that I can be.”
    DE-FFICULT COMPETITION
Barcelona are also interested in signing Sevilla star defender Jules Kounde in this summer transfer window.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barca are looking to compete against Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal over Kounde in the coming months.
The centre-back stood out this season in LaLiga with some stunning performances in defence.
The France international is now set to compete in Euro 2020 for his nation
    NOT THE SEM THING
England manager Gareth Southgate has conceded that anything other than a semi-final finish in Euro 2020 would be deemed a failure.
Southgate said when asked if anything other than a final-four qualification would be considered a let-down: “Yeah, it probably will.
“I think we’re realistic about that, we have to live with that expectation. We know the excitement around the team and it’s great, we’re now relevant.
“Expectations were lower [in the 2018 World Cup]. We’ve got some exciting players and I don’t think these players are at their peak by any means. I think when I look at some of the players working with us it’s so exciting for England in the future.
“I’ve got to try to manage the expectations for the players. I accept the situation as a manager, there’s expectation, I have to deliver”
    YOUNG BUK
England boss Gareth Southgate has praised Arsenal ace Bukayo Saka for his impressive performances and character despite a difficult campaign at the Emirates.
Southgate said: “Firstly he’s performed exceptionally well for us and performed well in a team that’s had a difficult season.
“Sometimes young players can go into teams that are playing well and flourish. He’s gone into a team that have had a tough season and have really played with character as well as skill.
“Again we saw when he had to come on in Belgium [last autumn] real personality in his performance. His adaptability, the fact he can play four or five different positions is a real plus for us”
    CAN’T GO SOUTH
England manager Gareth Southgate understands the enormity of the task ahead at Euro 2020.
Southgate said: “We have to deliver as a group of staff, it’s not about me in terms of if we can be successful. But, of course, it’s about me if we fail. No problem, that’s the gig.
“But for the players, I’ve still got to bear in mind they are a young group, they have still got a lot of progression to make, some are now learning how to win things, being involved in big matches. It’s brilliant for their progress and opportunities for England, that’s what we want.
“Are we ready to win? Well, we’ve been to two semi-finals so the next step is to try to go further”

    RONALDO BOOST
Juventus star forward Cristiano Ronaldo is highly unlikely to join Paris Saint-Germain in the summer transfer window.
That is according to The Athletic, who claim Ronaldo may not be moving to Paris despite his uncertain future with the Bianconeri.
The legendary forward has been linked with a sensational comeback to Manchester United in the summer.
However, the Portugal international is currently focused on Euro 2020
    HEY JUDE
England boss Gareth Southgate insists Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham is not just joining his Euro 2020 squad for experience.
    Southgate said: “Jude is phenomenal.
“Just in training in the last couple of days, to have a 17-year-old, who wants to compete with senior players, not only has the technique, but the competitiveness and maturity. He’s a hugely exciting player.
“He’s going to be an important player for England. We’re not just taking him for the experience. The experience is going to be enormous for him and for future England managers because I don’t see anything in his character that means he won’t succeed.
“But his performance levels with Dortmund in the big Champions League games were the things that really struck us. He stood up in those big moments. They are the moments we’re really assessing the players on”
    BE RIGHT BACK
England manager Gareth Southgate has opted for four right-backs ahead of Euro 2020.
Specifically, Southgate chose Manchester City ace Kyle Walker, Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold, Atletico Madrid player Kieran Trippier and Chelsea’s Reece James.
The Three Lions boss also called up two left-backs in Ben Chilwell and Luke Shaw.
His defensive options also include Conor Coady, Tyrone Mings, Harry Maguire and John Stones
    KANE STOP HIM
Tottenham star striker Harry Kane won’t change his mind about leaving even if Mauricio Pochettino returns to Spurs.
The north Londoners are in talks to bring Pochettino back to the helm where he enjoyed tremendous success and played a major part in Kane’s incredible development.
The England captain, who is set for action in Euro 2020, had a wonderful relationship with the Argentinean manager but seems so determined to leave and challenge for silverware that a reunion won’t make him think twice, according to The Times.
Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea lead the race to sign the 27-year-old centre-forward
    NO GREEN LIGHT
Manchester United ace Mason Greenwood has withdrawn from the England squad for this summer’s Euro 2020 due to an underlying injury.
Greenwood had been named in Gareth Southgate’s provisional, 33-man squad for this summer’s delayed competition.
But the forward has been forced to pull out due to a pre-existing knock and thus failed to make Southgate’s final 26-man group.
United confirmed the 19-year-old would be withdrawn for his own safety, unwilling to risk pushing him any further after a gruelling campaign

    SAN-THING’S COOKING
Manchester United have ‘mostly agreed’ personal terms with Borussia Dortmund ace Jadon Sancho.
Sancho’s representatives are ‘expecting’ a £77million transfer to get over the line in the summer transfer window.
According to Sport1, Dortmund have dropped their previous £108m release clause.
However, a formal transfer offer is yet to be lodged by United
    COME AND GET HEEM
Arsenal are leading the race to sign Manchester City ace Raheem Sterling in the summer.
Sterling has dropped down the pecking order at City after the emergence of 21-year-old Phil Foden.
Manager Pep Guardiola is looking to sign a top centre-forward, such as Tottenham superstar Harry Kane, that will help the Citizens finally win the Champions League trophy.
However, City will have to raise funds after losing Sergio Aguero on a free transfer to Barcelona and thus the likes of Sterling, Gabriel Jesus and Riyad Mahrez look set to be let go in the summer
    CUT OUT
England manager Gareth Southgate announced his final 26-man squad for this summer’s delayed Euro 2020.
Aaron Ramsdale, Ben Godfrey, Jesse Lingard, Ollie Watkins, Ben White, James Ward-Prowse and Mason Greenwood didn’t make the cut.
Manchester United ace Mason Greenwood pulled out due to an injury.

‘TURN IT INTO A POSITIVE’ – EXCLUSIVE
Bobby Zamora knows how those England players reeling from major-tournament heartbreak are feeling today.
Zamora was left out of the Three Lions’ 2010 World Cup squad – although it was his own decision, rather than that of manager Fabio Capello.
Zamora made the second of his two appearances for England the year after the 2010 World Cup, but that was that for the then 31-year-old when it came to playing for his country.
He does feel there is a big incentive just 12 months away for those who missed out this time, though.
The ex-Spurs and West Ham forward said: “There’s a World Cup next year, another opportunity very, very close.
“Maybe you take it as a positive. It drives you to improve and to be better, to make sure you’re in the next squad.”
    HARRY’S CRY – EXCLUSIVE
Harry Maguire woke up every morning hoping his ankle pain had gone but still hopes to be fit for the Euros.
Speaking yesterday, Maguire, 28, was asked about his first thoughts as he sat on the turf waiting for medical attention at Villa Park after Anwar El Ghazi crunched him.
He said: “The fear that I had was missing everything. I knew it was quite a bad injury.
“But it is now improving and getting better, so I am just looking forward to the Euros.”

    KEAN TO STAY
Moise Kean wants to stay at Paris Saint-Germain, according to reports.
The French giants are preparing a five-year contract and a £34.5million offer to Everton, according to transfer guru Nicola Schira.
Everton are said to want more than £40m for the Italian who has been on loan in Paris this season.
    KHAL FOR KANE
Manchester City chairman Khaldoon al Mubarak has given Pep Guardiola the green light to go out and bid for Harry Kane.
The Premier League champions said an emotional farewell to all-time leading goalscorer Sergio Aguero at the weekend. And their Abu Dhabi owners have vowed to land a top name who can fill the boots of the deadly Argentine forward.
That will come as a blow to Tottenham’s hopes of holding onto England captain Kane – who has made it clear he wants out this summer. Khaldoon said: “We’re losing a very important legend in Sergio, they are very hard shoes to fill. I’m confident we will find the right player to fill those shoes.
“There are other areas that need investment, not too many. but it’s not about numbers – it’s about quality. It’s a phenomenal squad – you don’t win the Premier League and get to the Champions League final without an incredible squad.
“We have that but will bring quality into the squad in a couple of key positions.”
City were previously linked with Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland and Romelu Lukaku of Inter. But Kane’s wish to leave Spurs has put City on red alert and it now seems Pep will have the financial muscle for such a deal.
    LOK HIM IN
Arsenal are tracking Anderlecht midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga, according to reports.
A number of Premier League clubs are tracking the 21-year-old who is rated at £13.5million.
Arsenal have been keen since 2019 and are considering moving again this summer, according to Nieuwsblad.
Lokonga mainly plays as a defensive midfielder and could play alongside Thomas Partey.
    NO MAUR SPECULATION
Maurcio Pochettino has not told Paris Saint-Germain or club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi that he wants to leave, according to reports.
The Argentine has been linked with a move back to Tottenham but the French giants have had no such communication, according to the Telegraph.
    HA HA HARA
Jamie O’Hara seemed somewhat unhappy with Gareth Southgate’s confirmation that Jesse Lingard may play against Austria tomorrow.
The former Tottenham man tweeted in a bluster before his TalkSPORT colleague Max Rushden attempted to calm him down with a fairly rational, logical and sensible reply.
Well because the United, City and Chelsea players aren’t there. And because if the managers asks you to you do it.And in case someone gets injured you might get in.And because he’s a professional. And even if he scored 10, Southgate knows his squad. Peace and love 👍❤️— Max Rushden 💙 (@maxrushden) June 1, 2021

    FLASH BACK
Nudge, nudge, Winks, Winks… Flash, Harry?
Kinsey Wolanksi marked the second anniversary of her infamous Champions League final streak with a mischievous snap – of Spurs’ Harry Winks staring at her lightly-clothed body from point-blank shooting range.
American influencer Kinsey spent five hours in jail over her antics in Liverpool’s 2-0 win, which sent her Instagram following soaring past 2million.
The model ran onto the pitch at Atletico Madrid’s Wanda Metropolitano Stadium in front of 63,272 fans in skimpy swimwear to promote her boyfriend’s porn website.
And two years late the prankster has given Winks and Co a reminder of her most notorious stunt with a social media post recalling her five-minute reign in Spain.

    JES WATCH IT
England boss Gareth Southgate has revealed Jesse Lingard will start against Austria on Wednesday despite axing him from his Euro 2020 squad.
Speaking at a press conference following the team announcement, the 50-year-old said: “Jesse did really well to get himself back in the race because back in January he was a millions miles away from being considered for an England squad.
“I said in March that he’d had a fabulous few weeks but he was slightly fortunate because we were without three or four wide players at that time.
“He was excellent for West Ham and he plays so well for us – we have total trust in the way he plays.
“He’s reliable, he’s a great member of the group. He will play tomorrow because we’ve got [Jadon] Sancho ill, we’ve obviously got a lot of players not available and he’ll start to help the balance of the team.
“He deserves that opportunity to go and show me that I’m wrong straight away. The lads that are with us are the standby list and we need to keep them match ready.”

    MEET THE THREE LIONS!
This is England’s final 26-man squad for this summer’s Euros.

    HURT PRIDE
Gareth Southgate has named his final 26-man Euro 2020 squad with some big names being left out.
From the provisional 33-man squad, the likes of Jesse Lingard, Ben White, James Ward-Prowse and Ollie Watkins have been omitted.
Meanwhile Manchester United youngster Mason Greenwood was forced to withdraw from the squad due to an underlying injury.
A number of England stars were unlucky to not have even been named in the provisional squad, with Dele Alli, Eric Dier and Aaron Wan-Bissaka all missing out.
And SunSport has produced a best XI of players who have been snubbed, with the starting team boasting 118 caps between them.

    UNLUCKY LIN
Gareth Southgate says Jesse Lingard done incredibly well to get back in contention for an England spot and he wants the West Ham loanee match ready in case he gets called back into the sqaud.
The Three Lions boss said: “Jesse has done incredibly well to get back in the race. Back in January he was a million miles from being selectable for an England squad.
“I said in March he’d had a fabulous few weeks but you’d have to say he was a little fortunate because we were without around four wide players at that time.
“He had a good spell with West Ham and he’s played so well for us with England, we have total trust in the way he plays, he’s reliable, he’s a great member of the group.
“He will play tomorrow because we’ve got Jadon Sancho ill and we’ve obviously got a lot of players not available and for the balance of the team he’ll start.
“So he deserves that opportunity to go and show me that I’m wrong. But also the lads that are with us, they’re the standby players and we’ve got to keep them match ready in case they come back into that squad.”
The manager says that all six of the players who missed out on the final squad today will be in contention for this week’s matches and remain on standby should they be needed before #EURO2020 begins.https://t.co/EnEZuKWpvK— England (@England) June 1, 2021

    ALL HAIL THE BACKUPS
Gareth Southgate has heaped praise on the players he had to leave out his final 26-man squad and assured the public they are his backup group and will be ready if called upon.
Southgate axed Aaron Ramsdale (Sheff Utd), Ben Godfrey (Everton), Jesse Lingard (West Ham on loan from Man Utd), Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa), Ben White (Brighton), James Ward-Prowse (Southampton) and Mason Greenwood (Man Utd – injured).
And asked how the rejected stars reacted, Southgate said: “James was brilliant. As was Jesse, as was Ollie. Totally professional which is the character of the players.
“All of the players that are here will be on the standby list. We can only change now on the basis of injuries so those guys will be training with us. And they’ll be involved in the matches as well. Not only because if we have an issue they need to be ready.
“But they deserve it. Their commitment to stay with the group and their respect to their teammates to want to be here shows what playing for England means to this group of players.
“And I think it’s important the public know that as sometimes people dismiss the importance of England caps and what it means to players.”

    CARLO CONFIRMED!
Real Madrid have confirmed they have re-appointed Carlo Ancelotti as manager.
A Los Blancos statement read: “Real Madrid C. F. announces that Carlo Ancelotti will be the club’s first-team coach for the next three seasons.
“The ceremonial signing of the contract will take place tomorrow with club president Florentino Pérez at Real Madrid City, after which Ancelotti will address the media from 6pm (CET) in an online press conference.”
Everton said: “Everton can confirm that Carlo Ancelotti has left his position as manager to take up the role of Head Coach at Real Madrid.
“Everton would like to place on record its thanks to Carlo for his service to the Club over the past 18 months. The Club will begin the process of appointing a new manager immediately and will provide updates in due course.”
Ancelotti, who joined Everton on a four-and-a-half-year contract in December 2019, said: “I would like to thank the Board of Directors, the players, and the Evertonians for the tremendous support they have all given me during my time at the Club.
“I have complete respect for everyone associated with Everton and hope they can achieve the exciting opportunities they have in front of them.
“While I have enjoyed being at Everton I have been presented with an unexpected opportunity which I believe is the right move for me and my family at this time.”

    ADIOS CARLO – BREAKING!
Carlo Ancelotti has left Everton and will take over as manager of Real Madrid, according to Sky Sports News.
An official announcement is expected from Everton imminently.
    LONDON’S FALLING – EXCLUSIVE
William Gallas believes Mikel Arteta should leave Arsenal.
Gallas is confident Arteta will develop into an elite manager one day – but reckons it was a ‘mistake’ to appoint the Spaniard as the Gunners missed out on European football for the first time since 1995-96.
The Frenchman, 43, told SunSport: “Mikel Arteta was not ready yet to manage a club like Arsenal. OK, he was assistant coach at Manchester City. But he had never managed a team. It is completely different.
“The board made a mistake picking him. I’m sure he will be a great manager but you need to have experience to manage a big club.
“To be honest, it is a great shame for the Arsenal fans after finishing eighth.
“Arsenal is not the same Arsenal we knew 18, 20 years ago. We had players who were strong with strong personalities.”

    FAVOURITES FO SHO
Austria boss Franco Foda claims England are ‘big favourites’ for this summer’s Euros.
The Three Lions take on the German’s side at Middlesbrough’s Riverside Stadium tonight in a warm-up friendly. Former Sturm Graz boss Foda, 55, chief said: “In the last few years England have had a great development.
“They have lots of young, dynamic players, especially offensively and they are always able in situations to do very well. They are very quick.
“This is why they are one of the big favourites at the Euros.”
Ex-West Ham and Stoke striker Marko Arnautovic misses out due to a thigh muscle tear, while Austria are sweating on the fitness of captain Julian Baumgartlinger.
They will also be without former Newcastle loanee Valentino Lazaro, who would have had to quarantine had he travelled to England due to a visit to Dubai with Inter team-mate Romelu Lukaku last month.
    LUKE AWAY
England boss Gareth Southgate will be sweating over Luke Shaw’s fitness ahead of Euro 2020 after the defender was spotted with a cast around his left wrist.
The Manchester United star – who has been named in the Three Lions’ squad for the tournament – is expected to be the first-choice left-back under Southgate.
But the 25-year-old looks to be a serious doubt to feature in Wednesday night’s friendly against Austria after being snapped sporting a slight injury.
Shaw was caught by cameras with a cast on his left wrist while out with his girlfriend Anouska Santos in Altrincham town centre on Tuesday afternoon.
And to add insult to injury, the former Southampton ace was greeted to a parking ticket when he returned to his Rolls-Royce Cullinan.
Ben Chilwell could now start for England against Austria, with Southgate hoping Shaw will be fit to face Romania on Sunday. It will be England’s final fixture before they compete against Croatia in their first Euro 2020 group stage clash on June 13.

    THE GREAL DEAL
Jack Grealish says he had to assure Gareth Southgate he would be fit for the Euros.
The Aston Villa man has been included in the final 26-man squad but he was touch and go having picked up an injury towards the end of the season.
Grealish and Southgate was regularly pictured together at Villa Park when the midfielder was watching from the stands and the Villa man said he had to reassure the boss he would be ready for the summer.

    SQUAD NUMBERS!
England’s final squad numbers have been announced for this summer’s Euros.
And it looks like Jordan Pickford will be No 1 goalie ahead of Dean Henderson while Kyle Walker looks set to be the first choice of the FOUR right-backs included.
Harry Kane has been given the iconic No 9 shirt while Jack Grealish’s starting chances seem to have been given a boost having been given David Beckham’s famous No 7.

    SEVEN LIONS AXED!
Gareth Southgate was forced to cut seven players from his original 33-man group to leave him with his final 26-man squad.
And here are the stars he had to disappoint…
Aaron Ramsdale (Sheff Utd), Ben Godfrey (Everton), Jesse Lingard (West Ham on loan from Man Utd), Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa), Ben White (Brighton), James Ward-Prowse (Southampton) and Mason Greenwood (Man Utd – injured).
    ENGLAND’S EUROS SQUAD CONFIRMED!
Gareth Southgate has included FOUR right-backs in his England squad for this summer’s Euros.
Trent Alexander-Arnold, Kyle Walker, Reece James and Kieran Trippier are all IN.
But there is no room for Aaron Ramsdale, Ben Godfrey, Jesse Lingard, Ollie Watkins, Ben White, James Ward-Prowse or Mason Greenwood – who pulled out injured.

    FEELING BLUE
Chelsea and Leicester have been charged with failing to control their players during last Tuesday’s game at Stamford Bridge.
The clubs have been fined £22,500 each.
A mass brawl erupted towards the end of the game with the Blues 2-1 up.
The incident erupted after Ricardo Pereira’s challenge on Ben Chilwell and players and members of staff from both sides were involved in a vicious confrontation.

    STICKY SITUATION FOR TOFFEES
Everton chiefs will meet later tonight to discuss potential replacements for Carlo Ancelotti, according to Sky Sports News.
The Italian is reportedly on the verge of returning to Real Madrid and the ex-Chelsea boss is said to have told the Toffees he wants to go.
    PEP SQUAWK
Pep Guardiola ‘stole’ the Champions League crown from Manchester City with his bizarre team selection, according to Lothar Matthaus.
The Etihad giants’ wait for a first European Cup continues after they slipped to a 1-0 defeat against Chelsea in Porto on Saturday night.
The City boss opted to play three attack-minded midfielders in Ilkay Gundogan, Bernardo Silva and Phil Foden. That meant both Rodri and Fernandinho were left on the bench, despite at least one playing almost every game all season.
But Germany legend Matthaus has claimed the blame falls solely at the feet of Guardiola for his questionable pre-game tinkering.
Matthaus told Sky Germany: “With his line-up he stole the Champions League from the club and the fans. [Guardiola] has to rightly listen to the harsh criticism from all sides.
“I am sure that there will be internal discussions about whether to part with him. The players will doubt him since that final.”
