    THAT’S ALL FOR NOW!
France head to the Euros with two 3-0 friendly wins in the bag.
They weren’t particularly tested in either game against Wales or Bulgaria but you sense there’s so much more to come from Didier Deschamps’ men.
They may have a tricky group to contend with but the smart money would be on Les Bleus following up their World Cup success with European Championship glory.
    See you soon!

    BENZEMA BOOST
France coach Didier Deschamps seems confident that the injury to Karim Benzema isn’t too serious.
The striker limped off in the first half at the Stade de France but should be okay by the time France face Germany in their opening Group D fixture at the Euros.
Deschamps said afterwards: “He took a good hit on the muscle above the [right] knee. We don’t want to take any risks.
“It’s a knock on the knee, which also affects the muscle. He felt he was getting stiff so he asked to be subbed.
“The medical staff are taking care of him.”

    FT: FRANCE 3-0 BULGARIA
France will have far sterner tests than this. They didn’t really need to break sweat to dispose of Bulgaria.
Antoine Griezmann opened the scoring in acrobatic style, before substitute Olivier Giroud bagged a late brace.
France keeper Hugo Lloris could have brought a book along so little was he tested.
If this was France in first gear, then they will surely be favourites for European Championship glory.
Germany, Hungary and Portugal await in the so-called group of death but the French will fear no one.
The only downside was an injury to Karim Benzema.

    PEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!THE FINAL WHISTLE GOES!
    FRANCE 3-0 BULGARIA
    90. Giroud at the double. Lemar slots Ben Yedder into space and his cross is guided home by Giroud.

    GOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLL FRANCE!
    FRANCE 2-0 BULGARIA
    83. Giroud attacks the near post, sticks out a left foot and prods Pavard’s cross past Naumov. Mbappe and Tolisso trot off and make way for Sissoko and Ben Yedder.
    GOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLL FRANCE!
    FRANCE 1-0 BULGARIA
    80. Ooooh, chance there for Bulgaria. Karagaren ventures into the box but his shot goes through the legs of Varane and wide.
    FRANCE 1-0 BULGARIA
    78. First thing Varane has done wrong all evening as he climbs on top of a Bulgarian attacker to give away a free-kick.
    FRANCE 1-0 BULGARIA
    71. More changes for Bulgaria. Yankov is on for Hristov and Turitsov makes way for Karagaren.
    FRANCE 1-0 BULGARIA
    68. Digne opens up his body and lets fly. Naumov pushes it behind. File that one under ‘theatrical’.
    FRANCE 1-0 BULGARIA
    66. Dembele has an immediate impact, sliding a lovely ball through to Mbappe. He gives the keeper the eyes and shapes to curl his effort to the far corner but instead drags his shot wide of the near post.
    FRANCE 1-0 BULGARIA
    64. Mbappe has another shot from distance but it’s straight at the keeper. Pavard then has a go – from similar range to that goal against Argentina – but slices it wide. Kante makes way for Lemar and Griezmann is replaced by Dembele.
    FRANCE 1-0 BULGARIA
    58. Changes for the visitors. Minchev, Tsvetanov and Dimitar Illiev come on in place of Atanas Iliev, Kraev and Despodov. Vitanov replaced Chochev a few minutes earlier.
    FRANCE 1-0 BULGARIA
    56. Bulgaria win a corner. But the set-piece doesn’t beat the man at the near post and the danger is cleared. What a waste.
    FRANCE 1-0 BULGARIA
    49. Bulgaria stand off Mbappe and let him get a shot away. It’s punched clear by Naumov. Not the most conventional save but he kept it out.
    FRANCE 1-0 BULGARIA
    46. Lucas Digne has replaced Hernandez.

    HT: FRANCE 1-0 BULGARIA
It’s been all too easy for France so far, but it took a moment of magic by Antoine Griezmann to break the deadlock.
Bulgaria have barely managed to get out of their own half and have been grateful to goalkeeper Daniel Naumov for several fine saves.
Most worryingly for France was the sight of Karim Benzema limping off towards the end of the first period with what looks like a knee injury.

    FRANCE 1-0 BULGARIA
    44. Giroud pulls the trigger with a fierce drive but Naumov pushes it away. Another good save from the Bulgarian stopper.
    FRANCE 1-0 BULGARIA
    41. France are down to 10 men while they wait to replace Benzema but should have increased their lead. Mbappe tees up Griezmann with just the keeper to beat but Naumov pulls off a wonderful save. Giroud is now on to win his 108th cap.
    FRANCE 1-0 BULGARIA
    38. Benzema drops to the floor and that’s his his game done. Hopefully that’s just a knock and not serious.
    FRANCE 1-0 BULGARIA
    37. That was Griezmann’s fourth goal in his last five games for France.

    THAT’S A WRAP
Thanks for joining us this evening, there’s plenty more football coming your way this week.
Hands up if you’re as excited as us for the Euros to kick off!?
    MAN OF THE MATCH
Not only was Duffy a standout player on the pitch.
But he also took time to acknowledge the handful of Ireland fans after the game, gifting one of them his match shirt.

    IRELAND’S GOLDEN MAN
    Shane Duffy is Ireland’s man-of-the-match.
He had a decent performance at the back and put his body on the line.
Kenny sung his praises before the match, so it’s likely we’ll hear more of the same in his post-match presser.
    GIVEN THE GREEN LIGHT
The substitutes brought a bit of fire power on with them in the second half, with both Horgan and Omobamidele serving up delicious touches, passes and assists.
But it was creating chances for the duration of the game that let them down.
Three games unbeaten means things are looking up for Kenny and co.

    FT: HUNGARY 0-0 IRELAND
    HUNGARY 0-0 IRELAND
    93. The freekick comes to nothing as it fails to clear the wall.
Ireland desperately try to make something of the loose ball but to no avail.
    HUNGARY 0-0 IRELAND
    92. Omobamidele is taken out, about 35 yards out.
A late freekick could be Ireland’s final chance at a goal.
    HUNGARY 0-0 IRELAND
    90. Horgan picks out Omobamidele, with a lovely ball, as the youngster races down the right wing- he breaks into the box and tries to line it up for Molumby in the middle.
But Molumby is blocked out and the ball rolls out the left-side of the box.

    HUNGARY 0-0 IRELAND
    90. Three additional minutes in Hungary.
    HUNGARY 0-0 IRELAND
    89. Young debutant Omobamidele ruffles the side of the netting as he has a crack from a tight angle on the left of the box.
What a start to his international career that could have been!

    HUNGARY 0-0 IRELAND
    88. late changes to the Ireland team too;
Collis is on, so too is debutant Omobamidele.
    HUNGARY 0-0 IRELAND
    86. Szalai, the greatest threat from Hungary this evening, tries to break the deadlock from distance.
But his shot, from 30-odd yards, is dragged wide of the right post.
And after that effort, his night comes to an end.
He’s replaced by Schon who’s the only uncapped member of the squad.
    HUNGARY 0-0 IRELAND
    85. Szalai makes the most of Ireland failing to clear their lines.
He swivels in the D to push the ball onto his right foot as he tries to curl it into the top right-hand corner but it’s a couple of inches too high.
    HUNGARY 0-0 IRELAND
    84. McClean’s evening is over as he’s replaced by Manning.
Ireland tactically disrupting Hungary’s sudden wave of attack.
    HUNGARY 0-0 IRELAND
    80. Just as I write that, Kelleher is called into action twice in one minute!
He’s so quick to react and manages to bat away a close range shot courtesy of Szalai.
A subsequent corner sees a goal-mouth scramble, before Kelleher gets low to deal with Hungary’s threat.
    HUNGARY 0-0 IRELAND
    79. Ireland are still pushing, more so than Hungary, but just can’t seem to find a way through.
With ten minutes remaining they’ll need to dig deep for a goal.
    HUNGARY 0-0 IRELAND
    77. Cullen takes Ireland’s freekick, about 35 yards out on the right.
It’s headed several times in the area, in a game of ping-pong, before falling to Knight in the D.
He chests the ball and hits it on the volley, but his shot is deflected and Ireland’s attacking effort comes to an end.
    HUNGARY 0-0 IRELAND
    75. Hungary work the ball well down the pitch, albeit fairly slowly.
The ball is bundled back to Lovrencsics at the top of the box, but he can’t adjust his body quickly enough, his shot at goal is weak, allowing Kelleher to gather.
    HUNGARY 0-0 IRELAND
    73. It’s getting a little feisty now, as both teams are frustrated.
Idah is taken out in the Hungary area, but ref deems it a 50-50 challenge.
    HUNGARY 0-0 IRELAND
    71. Szalai and Molumby are involved in a footrace on the right wing, they’re shoulder-to-shoulder.
The Irishman goes to the floor, after a small shoulder barge and is lucky to win a freekick about 25 yards out on the right.
    HUNGARY 0-0 IRELAND
    70. Varga tries to pick out Nego, who’s unmarked on the right-hand side of the box, but Duffy intercepts the pass and heads it clear.;
    Ireland counter quickly.
    HUNGARY 0-0 IRELAND
    68. Duffy slides in across the box to deny Szalai a scoring opportunity.
The Irishman appeared to take a leg to the chest on the way down, he’s up and on his feet fairly quickly though.
    HUNGARY 0-0 IRELAND
    66. Ireland have a bit of bite about them now and are looking a little more threatening.
Idah picks up the ball just inside Hungary’s half and races to the D.
He drills the ball low and hard towards the bottom right-hand corner, but the keeper taps it away with his fingertips to deny the Irishman.
    HUNGARY 0-0 IRELAND
    63. Molumby and Fiola engage in a spot of shoving by the corner post, but there’s not much in it.
The crowd are jeering Molumby for it, but not a lot else is happening at the moment.
Both teams were hoping for a win to round off this international friendly period, but we’re goalless still in Hungary.
    HUNGARY 0-0 IRELAND
    61. A change between the sticks as Gulacsi is replaced by Bogdan.
Plenty of Liverpool links with keepers at both ends this evening!

AND OFF WE GO IN POZNAN!!!!!!!
    HERE COME THE TEAMS!!!
The INEA Stadion is ready to host the international friendly between Poland and Iceland ahead of Euro 2020.
The hosts are being led out to the pitch by captain Robert Lewandowski whereas Aron Gunnarsson dons his nation’s armband.
Afew fans have showed up for this game in the stands despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

    PAUL-ING TOGETHER
Paulo Sousa took over as Poland manager in January replacing Jerzy Brzęczek, who had been dismissed despite achieving qualification for Euro 2020.
Sousa has been experiencing a rough start at the Eagles’ helm as he has only won one of his first four matches in charge.
Poland beat Andorra 3-0 under the Portuguese legend and also lost to England; both matches took place in March.
Sousa experienced tremendous success as a player as he won two successive Champions League titles with Juventus and Borussia Dortmund
    GETTY IMAGES
    SIG-ING PRAISES
Goteborg star Kolbeinn Sigthorsson would have the chance to make history for Iceland in today’s friendly against Poland if he was included in the squad.
Sigthorsson is just one goal away from officially becoming his nation’s record goalscorer.
In fact, the striker is currently tied with Chelsea hero Eidur Gudjohnsen with a total of 26 goals in 63 matches.
Brescia ace Birkir Bjarnason is also after a special record as he is only four more appearances away from becoming Iceland’s most capped player and surpassing Runar Kristinsson, who holds the record with 100 international matches under his belt
    GETTY IMAGES
    LEWAN-GOAL-SKI
Robert Lewandowski enjoyed another stunning season with Bayern Munich and topped the goalscoring charts once more.
Lewandowski registered a staggering 41 goals and seven assists in 29 league matches and finished as the Bundesliga’s top scorer.
The star striker also recorded a total of 48 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions this past campaign.
And of course, the 32-year-old is Poland’ record goalscorer with 66 goals in 118 games, which also makes him his nation’s most capped player
    GETTY IMAGES
    ICELAND STATS
Iceland failed to qualify for Euro 2020 after finishing third in Group H behind France as well as Turkey and came up short in the play-offs when they lost to Hungary in the final.
The Scandinavians didn’t fare any better in the Nations League as they finished bottom of the group in League A below Belgium, Denmark and England.
Arnar Vidarsson’s men have struggled in their most recent outings as they’ve only won two of their last six matches.
During that same period of time, Iceland also lost four times
    GETTY IMAGES
    POLAND STATS
Poland qualified for Euro 2020 after topping Group G where they bested Austria and eliminated North Macedonia, Slovenia, Israel and Latvia – the Eagles won eight out of 10 matches and only lost once.
The hosts didn’t have the same success in the Nations League as they finished third in their League A group below Italy and the Netherlands with only two wins in six matches, of which they lost three times.
Poland’s recent track record hasn’t been stellar as they’ve only won one out of their last six games across all competitions.
The White and Reds also count three losses during that same period of time ahead of Euro 2020
    GETTY IMAGES
    HEAD-TO-HEAD
Poland and Iceland’s first ever meeting took place way back in 2000 during an international friendly match which the former won 1-0 at home thanks to Tomasz Frankowski’s goal.
Since then, the two sides have faced off a total of four times with the Eagles winning a majority of three matches whereas the Scandinavians are still looking for their first victory.
Both teams have never faced off in an official capacity and thus have only locked horns in friendly encounters throughout the years.
In fact, their most recent game took place in 2015 when Poland won 4-2 at home thanks to a brace by Robert Lewandowski

    THE TEAM SHEETS ARE IN!!!
    GOOD AFTERNOON FROM POZNAN
Welcome to our live coverage of the international friendly match between Poland and Iceland at the INEA Stadion ahead of the summer’s delayed Euro 2020 competition.
The hosts are looking for a morale-boosting victory ahead of the European championships where they will face Slovakia, Spain and Sweden.
Neither side is dealing with any significant absences but Poland manager Paulo Sousa is expected to start a strong side, which could include Bayern Munich superstar Robert Lewandowski.
Either Mateusz Klich or Jakub Moder could start in midfield while Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny should feature between the sticks.
Iceland boss Arnar Vidarsson may opt for the same backline and midfield after keeping a clean sheet against the Faroe Islands on Friday’s 1-0 win.
Mikael Anderson and Albert Gudmundsson could start and replace the likes of Jon Dadi Bodvarsson and Jon Dagur Thorsteinsson.
The line-ups are gong to depend on what each manager needs for this friendly, as only one of them is going to compete in Euro 2020.
Therefore, if Sousa is still figuring out the team’s identity then he will play a strong side or else he will opt to rest his key players.
But Vidarsson, on the other hand, doesn’t really have much reason to rest players as bragging rights are still up for grabs

Meanwhile, Chelsea are gearing up for a £150m-PLUS bid for Erling Haaland, according to reports.
Meanwhile PSG are in talks with Lionel Messi over a possible transfer from Barcelona, the club president has implied.

    STEPH’S STRESS
Steph Catley has revealed that her debut Arsenal season has been the most difficult in her career so far due to a series of injuries.
The 27-year-old told My Football: “It’s definitely been the hardest year of my football career.
“The injuries just kept coming and I couldn’t find the answers. But I found strength in myself I didn’t know I had and also strength in my relationships with the people around me.
“I learnt to lean on people and overall I feel like I’ve come out the other side of it all a much better athlete.
“I’m better at preparing, I feel stronger physically and mentally and just have a real appreciation for being out on the field every day doing what I love.
“I’m feeling really good. My body feels strong and I’ve been back on the field for the last few months now so I’ve got a good amount of load back there too.
“But mentally I feel really fresh and just excited to be on the field every single day.”
    SHAQ YER BAGS
Xherdan Shaqiri is set to quit Liverpool this summer with Lazio interested, according to reports.
The Swiss midfielder, 29, has been little more than a bit-part player under Jurgen Klopp in recent seasons.
And now Shaqiri could finally quit Anfield with Lazio set to swoop if Maurizio Sarri takes over at the Italian giants.
Lazio are currently without a boss after Simone Inzaghi took over from Antonio Conte at Inter Milan.
Sarri has been out of work since leaving Juventus after just one season, in 2019-20.
But he’s hotly linked with taking over at Lazio – who finished sixth in Serie A last season.
Should he arrive, transfer expert Nicolo Schira has revealed Shaqiri could be one of his top targets.
    TOP OF THE BIL
EXCLUSIVE – Sam Johnstone is so chilled he would treat the Euros exactly like a night game at Barnsley.
At least that is what Slaven Bilic believes following the keeper’s classy England debut in Sunday’s 1-0 friendly win over Romania.
Bilic said: “Sam is not a loud guy. He is very calm and doesn’t speak a lot. He is one of those guys that gives you confidence with his calmness.
“He is relaxed but not sleepy. He is totally in a zone and in the beginning I was telling him to be louder.
“But after that, I noticed he is one of those who can calm a team down with his attitude. He is not fazed. For him it would be the same if it were a Monday night in Barnsley or a match at Euro 2020.
“It comes from your character but also from when you are at a big club and always being scrutinised.”
    HEC OF A MOVE
Villarreal have reportedly made an offer to sign Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin.
According to Di Marzio, Unai Emery is looking to be reunited with the Spain international.
It’s understood that Bellerin is keen to depart the Emirates after ten years left at the Emirates.
And Villarreal would be able to offer the defender Champions League football having won the Europa League.
    MAKING A MARC
Marcelo Bielsa dropped a big hint over his Leeds future by ditching the beach to coach a local U11’s side.
While a new deal is seen as a formality, the Argentine is yet to sign up for at least one more year at Elland Road.
Bielsa gave a blunt ‘no’ when asked by SunSport towards the end of the season if he had any holiday plans this summer.
And, true to his word, the 65-year-old has remained in Yorkshire to pass on his wisdom on to a group of local kids.
Bielsa was spotted putting them through their paces on Monday night – though how they understood his broken English is anyone’s guess.
Fan @Tonylufc28 tweeted: “He’s just an incredible human being. He’s here for the long term, that’s for sure. Feel blessed to have him at our club.”
While another supporter wrote: “Quality from Bielsa. I bet that was one of the best training sessions them lads will have. The man lives and breathes football and is a genius.”

    CAL OF DUTY
Chelsea star Callum Hudson-Odoi has hinted that he is open to switching his international allegiance to Ghana in the future.
The 20-year-old is still eligible to represent the West African nation despite being capped three times at senior level by England.
As reported by Joy Sports, he said: “I think obviously when you’re young, you have the opportunity to play for England throughout all the years, from under 15 to under 16 all the way up.
“When they obviously gave me the opportunity to come I was in the country already.
“It’s something that I already had in my mind, set on already playing for England.”
“So it was the thing obviously choosing Ghana or England, and at the end of the day I said I always had the right people around me who always advise me – what’s right, what’s wrong. England came and I said ‘Yeah, let me go and play for my country.
“But I said Ghana is my home as well, so we’ll see, we’ll see. You’ll never know, so.”

“We will never sell him and he will never leave on a free. Mbappe has everything he needs in Paris.”
But according to Spanish TV station El Chiringuito, Mbappe is not impressed with what he heard.
And they report that Real Madrid now thing the 22-year-old will NOT renew his contact with PSG.

Atletico Madrid have reportedly offered Saul Niguez in exchange for Manchester City ace Bernardo Silva in a blow to Manchester United.
The Red Devils have long targeted the Spanish midfielder.
But Atletico’s desire to sign Silva could send Saul to United’s rivals.
According to The Times, Atletico are willing to send club stalwart Saul in a direct swap for City star Silva – in a move that could benefit both clubs in terms of Financial Fair Play.
And the transfer could also work out well for both players

    HAK OF THE NET
Arsenal are reportedly considering making an offer for AC Milan star Hakan Calhanoglu if they miss out on Martin Odegaard.
Arsenal are waiting to hear whether the 22-year-old Dane features in Carlo Ancelotti’s first-team plans.
But according to CBS Sports reporter James Benge, the Londoners have shortlisted an alternative in Calhanoglu, 27.
He posted on Twitter: “Arsenal still retain strong interest in Martin Odegaard.
“What sort of deal can be done there [if any] will depend on decision of new Real Madrid coaching staff and Florentino Perez.
“Another target who Arsenal are understood to have broached internally is Hakan Calhanoglu, out of contract with AC Milan this summer.
“He is an option, not clear how high on the list he might be but expectation is he’s an alternative to Odegaard.”
Hakan Calhanoglu is reportedly on Arsenal’s shortlist this summer
    PAUL THE OTHER ONE
Paul Gascoigne has revealed that he brutally snubbed Chelsea in 1995 when he left Lazio for Rangers.
He told talkSPORT: “I remember speaking to [then Lazio boss] Dino Zoff and asking him what clubs were interested in me at the time and he said Chelsea.
“I said ‘I ain’t going there, what’s the other one?’ He replied Aston Villa.
“And I said I ain’t going there either, and then he said Rangers. So I’m walking out of the door and I turned around and said ‘I ain’t going to Queens Park Rangers’.
“No, Glasgow Rangers. I slammed the door and said to Dino get them over quickly.
“I remember [Rangers boss] Walter Smith turning up and going ‘let me tell you about the club’.
“I went ‘no, let me tell you what I’ve got in the fridge…. and I came out with two Budweisers. He said ‘you’re signing, aren’t you?!'”
    PAUL YOUR HAIR OUT
Phil Foden paid tribute to Paul Gascoigne by recreating the England icon’s famous haircut from Euro 96.
The Manchester City star has fans hoping the new look will help him inspire the Three Lions this summer the way Gazza did 25 years ago.
Foden – who has already been compared to Gascoigne in terms of playing style – took things to a new level by unveiling his fresh trim for the Euros.
Ahead of England’s first Group D game against Croatia on Sunday, the 21-year-old revealed he has bleached his usually dark locks blonde.
And in case any fans were in doubt about the Gascoigne reference, Foden captioned a picture on his Instagram story: “Euro 96 vibes.”
Phil Foden’s latest haircut has been inspired by Paul Gascoigne’s Euro 96 look
    DAN AND DUSTED
Dani Ceballos has dealt Arsenal a blow by ruling out a return to the Emirates.
The Spanish midfielder has spent the last two seasons on loan in North London from Real Madrid.
He made 25 Premier League appearances and scored three goals this season, but it looks like they could be his last games for the Gunners.
Speaking on Spanish radio station El Larguero, the 24-year-old said: “[Mikel] Arteta is a coach who I am sure will be one of the best in the world in the next few years.
“But I would like to return to the Spanish league.”
    TAM PLAN
Chelsea are reportedly considering offering Borussia Dortmund Tammy Abraham as part of a player-plus-cash transfer offer for Erling Haaland.
The Blues want to bring in a new striker when the market reopens this summer.
And Dortmund ace Haaland, 20, is among their top priorities.
Talks have already taken place regarding a possible switch to Stamford Bridge for more than £150million.
However, The Times state the West Londoners may be tempted to try and include Abraham in any deal.
They value their academy graduate at around £40m.
So offering Abraham would both reduce the transfer fee Chelsea must pay as well as giving Dortmund somewhat of a replacement No9.

    SPURRED OFF
Tottenham stars reportedly had ‘reservations’ about Antonio Conte’s potential arrival last week, because of his ‘extreme and demanding’ methods.
The Italian was in talks with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, as the North Londoners look to finally replace sacked Jose Mourinho.
Conte, 51, was happy to come to the club and there were ‘no issues’ with the salary he was being offered.
The former Chelsea boss impressed Spurs chiefs with his vision for getting the players fit again and improving them defensively.
But the move broke down over the lack of transfer funds that would be at his disposal. This may, however, come as a relief to some of the players.
According to The Athletic, some Spurs stars were concerned over how hard they’d be pushed by Conte.
They had heard from pals at other clubs just how much he pushes his teams, and that he pays ‘little attention’ to utilising clubs’ academies or developing young players.

    JUMP ON JACK
Man City want to sign Aston Villa star Jack Grealish this summer, according to reports.
Pep Guardiola is eager to strengthen his side, following their Champions League final disappointment.
Finding a new striker to replace Sergio Aguero is key to City’s agenda.
But securing Grealish’s signature is of ‘equal’ importance, according to ESPN.
They also claim that Guardiola is insistent that City must pounce on Grealish ahead of rivals Manchester United, should Villa be willing to do business.
The Midlanders are believed to value their captain at around £100million.
City have been ‘encouraged’ that a deal could be done by Villa’s £33m acquisition of Norwich’s fellow creator Emi Buendia.

    GOLDEN BOY
Harry Kane is dreaming of a stunning Euro 2020 trophy double as the England captain wants to lead his country to victory in the final at Wembley on July 11.
And he is also on a mission to add to his personal collection of gongs by once again bagging the Golden Boot.
He said: “As a striker, if you are scoring, you are helping the team. That’s always my aim — and to win.
“Of course, I’d love to win another Golden Boot. More importantly, I’d love to be lifting that Euros trophy.
“Whatever way we get there, whether it’s me scoring or others, it doesn’t bother me as long as we are winning games.
“That’s why we play football on the hihest stage, to be involved in the biggest games. Once most guys are on the pitch, instinct takes over.”

    HOLA JADON
Jadon Sancho is interested in a move to LaLiga, according to reports.
The Borussia Dortmund winger, 21, looks on course to leave the German club this summer.
Manchester United are desperate to land the star, especially now Dortmund have lowered their asking price to £80million.
But according to The Times, Sancho wants to try his luck in Spain.
Barcelona and Real Madrid are the traditional big hitters of LaLiga, although Atletico Madrid did win the league this season.
The Nou Camp or Bernabeu would be the more likely options for the winger.
    BAR-KING MAD
Barcelona are plotting a sensational FIVE-PLAYER raid of Manchester City, according to reports.
The LaLiga giants have already turned to Pep Guardiola’s squad to sign Eric Garcia and Sergio Aguero on free transfers.
But after missing out on Georginio Wijnaldum – with Paris Saint-Germain winning the race for the free agent – Barca are set to turn back to City with FIVE Etihad stars in sight.
To fill the void of Wijnaldum, Spanish outlets El Chiringuito TV and Sport have claimed Ronald Koeman wants in-form Ilkay Gundogan.
El Chiringuito TV even claims Barcelona have met with the agents of both Gundogan AND Riyad Mahrez after their sensational seasons.
Madrid-based Sky Sports journalist Matteo Moretto has claimed Barcelona are pondering a move for Raheem Sterling.
And Sport have also claimed Barcelona are in the market for Aymeric Laporte and Gabriel Jesus in a staggering raid of City.

    DON DEAL
PSG are on the verge of signing Gianluigi Donnarumma, according to reports.
The giant stopper left boyhood club AC Milan at the end of the season, upon the expiry of his contract.
Agent Mino Raiola failed to come to an agreement with the Italian giants after long negotiations.
The 22-year-old’s free agency sparked interest from around Europe in Italy’s No1, but it is PSG that appear to have won the race.
According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the Ligue 1 side are set to complete the deal ‘in the next hours’.
Donnarumma will sign a five-year contract on £200,000-a-week in Paris, and he will be granted the No99 shirt in the French capital.
Gianluigi Donnarumma played 251 times for AC Milan
    TRIPLE THREAT
AC Milan are reportedly preparing a TRIPLE transfer raid on Chelsea for Hakim Ziyech, Olivier Giroud and Fikayo Tomori.
All three players have found game time hard to come by at Stamford Bridge this season.
And Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport is reporting that Serie A runners-up Milan are ready to pounce.
Tomori was shipped out on loan to AC Milan, where he obviously impressed with his performances.
Big things were expected of Ziyech after he joined Chelsea last summer for £37million from Ajax.
But the Moroccan arrived injured and didn’t do enough to impress previous boss Frank Lampard or his predecessor Thomas Tuchel.
La Gazzetta dello Sport is reporting AC Milan are planning a sensational triple transfer raid
    BOO ARE YA?
Rio Ferdinand has slammed fans who boo England players taking the knee as ‘ignorant’.
A number of supporters at the Three Lions’ Euro 2020 warm-up friendlies jeered the pre-game gesture.
Ferdinand told his YouTube channel: “These fans, these ignorant people going to these games, they haven’t got a clue.
“They don’t know what the players are kneeling for. It’s not a political stance.
“All these people saying, ‘BLM is a political movement’ – [the knee] is nothing to do with [BLM]. So take that out of your mind.”
    NO HEART OR SOL
Arsenal legend Sol Campbell has blasted the current Gunners after claiming that his old club have become ‘soft’.
Speaking to Ladbrokes at the launch of their new European Championships 5-a-side Bet, Campbell said: “When I was at Arsenal we had a team of tough guys… I don’t know whether things have softened now.
“When I was there we had a team full of tough guys. All great gentlemen, straight-talking.
“There were loads of characters, great banter and with that came a few fights from time to time. But above all that, it was a team full of great personalities; great people.
“We didn’t shy away from things at all. Is football like that now? Are Arsenal like that now? I don’t think so.
“We were ruthless gentlemen. There is such a thing; you know what’s good and what’s bad but when it comes to football there’s no mucking around.
    “It’s as simple as that.”
    CRIS OF DEATH
Manchester United have failed in their £39m bid to land Cristian Romero, reports say.
Italian club Atalanta are holding out for £52m for the Argentine defender.
Tuttosport in Italy claim that Romero, 23, is not ‘indispensable’ to the Serie A side and they could look to sell.
The report also adds that negotiations aren’t currently active but United are lining up a bid.
The Italian side are reportedly planning to make Romero’s from Juventus permanent for £21.5m before cashing in on his services.
They could then look to sell Romero for £39m and make a huge profit.
And the Red Devils are said to be leading the race for the Argentina international’s signature.

    MAKING THEIR MARC
England star Marcus Rashford believes that the Three Lions’ squad players can add an extra ‘spark’ to the first XI.
The Man United forward is one of a number of attacking players vying for a place, and he believes that everyone will contribute.
He said: “Don’t get me wrong, everybody wants to be in the first XI – but I think from my experience of being in tournaments you need a squad.
“You have to have players capable of coming on at different moments and giving that extra spark. I think in our squad we have that all over the pitch, so to be honest it (starting against Croatia) is not at the front of my mind.
“We go there as a squad that’s trying to win a tournament. Whether or not you’re starting in the first XI you’ve still got a massive role to play if we want to win the tournament.
“You’re being deluded if you expect 11 players to win seven games – and you’re playing games in a short space of time. The squad’s going have to be utilised and to be honest I’m excited and looking forward to it.”

    ENTRY LEVEL
Vaccine passports can be used to get into England’s Euro 2020 group matches in a major move backed by the Government.
Fans seeking to attend the games against Croatia, Scotland and the Czech Republic at Wembley will have to show the NHS app confirming they have received both Covid jabs at least 14 days before or a negative lateral flow test taken within 48 hours of the game.
But a successful use of the technology starting on Sunday will allow bigger crowds to attend the knock-out stages and could see more than 45,000 at the Final next month.
The Government, FA and Uefa have agreed to cap crowds at 22,500 for the three group matches, 25 per cent of Wembley’s capacity.
It is hoped that the passport scheme will be a trailblazer for other sporting events and lead to full crowds in the Prem from the start of next season.
In an email sent to ticket holders, the regulations have been laid out.
They state: “All ticket holders aged 11 and older must present evidence that they are at a low-risk of transmitting Covid-19 to enter Wembley Stadium. Failure to do so will mean you’re unable to attend the match.”
    EURO SLASH
England can win a maximum £24.29m in prize money at Euro 2020 – after Uefa and national associations agreed a cash cut.
The initial prize money budget for the tournament planned a total pot of £319m.
But with the Covid crisis causing a delay and crowds limited as a result of the pandemic, Uefa has now slashed the prize pool to £284.55m.
England, like the other 23 qualified nations, will get a minimum payment of £8m.
But the group stage prize money has been reduced from £1.29m per win (half that for a draw), to £860,000 for each victory and half for a draw.
Qualifying for the last-16 is now worth £1.29m, down from the original £1.72m.
Quarter-finalists will now receive an additional £2.15m, compared to the planned £2.8m.
Reaching the semis will net the FA an extra £3.44m, 25 per cent less than the initial figure of £4.3m.
And the winners and runners up will now receive £6.88m and £4.3m respectively.
    CAL OF DUTY

The 20-year-old is still eligible to represent the West African nation despite being capped three times at senior level by England.
As reported by Joy Sports, he said: “I think obviously when you’re young, you have the opportunity to play for England throughout all the years, from under 15 to under 16 all the way up.

    GER JOKING
England put their penalty shootout demons behind them in Russia to beat Colombia – but they are set to return against the Germans AGAIN this summer.
Before that, though, the Three Lions will dump out both Spain and Portugal in the knockout stages.
That is according to predictions from a supercomputer that has churned out the results for the whole of Euro 2020, as reported by talkSPORT.
And it spells more semi-final heartbreak for Gareth Southgate.

    LIONS READY TO ROAR
Marcus Rashford and Raheem Sterling are set to ‘explode’ into life for England at this summer’s European Championship, according to Roy Keane.
He said: “Sometimes you look at players who have had a quiet spell; quiet because they’ve set such high standards.
    “Rashford and Sterling, for example.
“But I think that is a good thing. You’re going into the tournament going ‘these lads are ready to explode’.
“Gareth [Southgate] definitely likes Rashford and Sterling.”

    WHITE HOT
Ben White was travelling home to Brighton on Sunday night when he got THE phone call.
Gareth Southgate’s name appeared on the screen.
The central defender had left Middlesbrough in a car provided by the FA and was 90 minutes into the 300-mile journey south.
Yet after a quick conversation, which White will remember for the rest of his life, he mentally tore up his list of potential holiday destinations and turned his attention to Wembley.
Then, he prepared for a quick turnaround in Brighton before heading to St. George’s Park this morning to meet up with his new international team-mates.
After a jubilant phone call to his parents, Carole and Barry, the rest of the trip to the seaside on Sunday flew by as his head was now firmly in the clouds.
    RAM READY
Aaron Ramsey has declared he is raring to go for Wales ahead of Euro 2020.
Speaking of repeated injuries during his time at Juventus, he said: “It’s been a frustrating couple of years to try and get any consistency going. Different environments, different methods and things like that.
“It’s not something I’ve been used to because I was at one club for a very long time and I think adapting to that took a lot longer.
“I’ve had to change a few things but now I feel like I’m in a good place. I’ve definitely worked hard over the last few months to get my body back into a good place.
“I’m a proud Welshman who wants to play for Wales and help my team as much as I can. For me to have missed a few games over the last few years has been very frustrating and difficult for me.
“Hopefully now that’s behind me and I can look forward to all these games in the European Championships.”

Manchester United and Arsenal have been warned that England star Ben White will cost £50million, according to reports.
The Brighton defender, 23, enjoyed a fine debut Premier League season this term.
And he was rewarded for his form by replacing the injured Trent Alexander-Arnold in England’s final 26-man squad for Euro 2020.
Brighton are unsurprisingly desperate to keep hold of the Three Lions star beyond this summer.
And to do so, the Daily Mail say the Seagulls have slapped a £50m price tag on the Dorset-born defender.
United continue their hunt for a long-term partner for Harry Maguire with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer keen to cement a solid defensive pairing this summer.
And Arsenal have lost David Luiz so may well be on the hunt for a new centre-back – but cannot offer European football next term.
Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool, Roma, Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund have all also been linked with White.

    GOOD MORNING EUROS FANS
Ben White is the final piece to Gareth Southgate’s England puzzle as he’s been confirmed as Trent Alexander-Arnold’s replacement for Euro 2020.
The centre back will wear the No22 jersey at the tournament.
The Three Lions boss will be delighted to see Harry Maguire running again in training, yet he remains a doubt for the Euros opener against Croatia.
One player who is more confident about playing this summer is Paul Pogba, who believes France are in with a great chance of winning the tournament.
Pogba told Eurosport: “We have a PlayStation team but it will remain a PlayStation team if we don’t win a trophy.
“Being world champions and having a team like that, we will be expected to do even more.
“We must remain humble. I want to give this message: it’s not a foregone conclusion. We hear a lot of talk but we keep our feet on the ground.”
And the Germans are also looking buoyant after hammering Latvia 7-1 in their final warm-up game.
France and Germany play each other in their opening match of the tournament on Tuesday, June 15.

And, from a month or so before that, the photos of the infamous night out in Hong Kong.
Teddy Sheringham, his clothes inexplicably in shreds, was one of many faces staring out of our front pages along with a spirit-soaked Gazza, obviously enjoying an almighty pre-tournament bender.

    WAYNE’S WORLD
Wayne and Coleen Rooney managed to get away on holiday just before Covid restrictions tightened – joined by a string of former team-mates and their wives.
The Rooneys were pictured smiling during a sunshine break in Portugal where the pair holidayed with three of Wayne’s old pals.
Among those was Leicester star Jonny Evans – club-mate of Jamie Vardy whose wife Rebekah is locked in a Wag war with Coleen.
Coleen flew out last week with husband Wayne, 35, days before the country was moved back on to the amber list by the UK Government.
The pair were later joined by Evans and his wife Helen McConnell, ex-Manchester United star Ashley Young and partner Nicky Pike, as well as Tom Cleverley and wife Georgina.
The Rooneys jetted off with old team-mates Jonny Evans, Tom Cleverly, Ashley Young and their families

    THAT’S SAUL FOLKS
Atletico Madrid have reportedly offered Saul Niguez in exchange for Manchester City ace Bernardo Silva in a blow to Manchester United.
The Red Devils have long targeted the Spanish midfielder.
But Atletico’s desire to sign Silva could send Saul to United’s rivals.
According to The Times, Atletico are willing to send club stalwart Saul in a direct swap for City star Silva – in a move that could benefit both clubs in terms of Financial Fair Play.
And the transfer could also work out well for both players
Saul, 26, has been a key man for Simeone over the years, playing 337 times for his boyhood club.

    “Rashford and Sterling, for example.
“But I think that is a good thing. You’re going into the tournament going ‘these lads are ready to explode’.
“Gareth [Southgate] definitely likes Rashford and Sterling.”
    LOVE CRUZ
    Simply irresistible…
Melanie Da Cruz, 30, is the gorgeous wife of Manchester United and France forward Anthony Martial.
The blonde bombshell made her name on French TV and has been dating the Red Devils star since 2016.
However, their romance began in controversial circumstances when Martial dumped his then girlfriend Samantha Jacquelinet in 2016 and soon shacked up with Da Cruz.
In 2018, they welcomed their first child together – a boy called Swan.
However, just months after Da Cruz gave birth Martial was alleged to have cheated on her with a French model.

    CHRIS OF LIFE
Former Manchester United defender Chris Smalling and his wife are convinced they spotted a UFO in Jamaica.
Smalling’s partner Sam revealed their experience on Instagram that started: “‘Ok so I promise we weren’t on magic mushrooms or anything but me and @smalling saw the craziest UFO last night!
“Not like a quick few seconds sighting of something high in the sky that could have enough a plane!
“It flew down low past us and then turned and shot back high up in the sky where it stayed for an hour (maybe longer but we had to leave) it was too small to get on film when it stayed stationed in the sky although Chris could see it rotating with lights flashing all around it, (I could only see the outer lights at this point as my eyes aren’t as good).
“We could have got it on camera when it was flying by us as it was clear to see but we were both too gobsmacked to get our cameras out.
“Plus we didn’t want to look away and miss whatever it was. It looked massive. It didn’t look like your typical ufo sightings. It was totally silent.”
    ROO MOON RISING
Wayne Rooney will make his playing comeback in the 2021 edition of Soccer Aid.
The popular charity match is set to take place on Saturday, September 4 in front of what could be a full house at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium.
The Derby manager, 35, was part of the England coaching team in last year’s match as fans raised a record £9.3million for Unicef.
And he will feature alongside Manchester United alumni Paul Scholes and Gary Neville plus Jamie Redknapp, Fara Williams, David James, Ashley Cole, Kelly Smith and Emile Heskey for the home team.
Jamaican sprint legend Usain Bolt is signed up to the World XI side with Roberto Carlos and Patrice Evra.
Rooney said: “Pulling on an England shirt is always special, so I’m absolutely delighted to be doing that again in Soccer Aid for Unicef this September.”

    THE REAL DON
Man Utd midfielder Donny van de Beek has been ruled out of Euro 2020 through injury.
The Dutch international’s injury caps off a difficult season where he has struggled first starts under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
A statement from the Holland National team said: “Donny van de Beek misses EURO 2020. Van de Beek has to let the European Championship pass by.
“The midfielder is struggling with an injury. As a result, he is not available in time for EURO 2020.
“Frank de Boer will not call a replacement for Van de Beek. Get well soon, Donny!”

    POG-BANG!
A strike definitely worth reliving, Man United fans!
Here is your goal of thew day.

    JUVE GOT CHOICES
Cristiano Ronaldo’s representatives have reportedly contacted Manchester United, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain over a potential summer switch.
The 36-year-old is continuing discussions with his club Juventus and has just a year left on his deal there.
But according to ESPN his team are ‘continuing to gauge interest from some of Europe’s top clubs’.
Ronaldo scored 36 goals in 44 games in all competitions for Juve last season, but the Italian giants finished 13 points behind champs Inter Milan.
They only guaranteed a Champions League spot on the final game of the season with a 4-1 win away at Bologna.
And while the Old Lady did win the Coppa Italia, it is expected new boss Massimiliano Allegri will switch up his squad this summer.
ESPN adds that Ronaldo’s team have spoken to Allegri, but that no decision on his future will be made until after Euro 2020 where he captains Portugal.

    GOOD MORNING RED DEVILS FANS
Manchester United are rumoured to be getting closer to signing Jadon Sancho, with reports suggesting the German club will now accept £80million for the England winger.

And the Red Devils have been linked with England U16 captain Josh Feeney from Fleetwood Town, with Aston Villa also said to be monitoring the youngster.
United and England fans alike will be delighted to see Harry Maguire running again in training, yet he remains a doubt for the Euros opener against Croatia.
One United player who is more confident about playing this summer is Paul Pogba, who believes France are in with a great chance of winning the tournament.

    XCLUSIVE – KEN LAWRENCE
Daniel Levy will demand a cash-only deal for star striker Harry Kane.
The Tottenham chairman wants at least £150million for his England captain – if he is prepared to let him leave at all, that is.
But he is definitely not interested in ‘cast-offs’ as part of a player-exchange deal for the 27-year-old.

Speaking about his future to the club’s media team, Laird said: “Who knows, I can’t really give you a set answer on my future just yet, but I know that my long-term aim is to establish myself with United.
