    GOODNIGHT
And so comes the end of another gripping day at Euro 2020.
We may not have had the goals of yesterday, but the highs and lows, ecstasy and agony, drama and despair were just as prominent.
There are now two days rest before the quarter-finals begin – and God knows how we need them.
    THE GRATEFUL EIGHT
Here’s how the quarter-final ties now look after today’s final two matches in the Round of 16.

    Switzerland v Spain (Saint Petersburg)
    Belgium v Italy (Munch)
    Czech Republic v Denmark (Baku)
    England v Ukraine (Rome)

The ties will take place this Friday and Saturday.
    FULL TIME STATS
Ukraine scored with half of their four shots on targets in Glasgow, and Artem Dovbyk will forever remember his touch inside the Sweden penalty area.

    AET: SWEDEN 1-2 UKRAINE
Wow. The drama never stops at Euro 2020. Ukraine have seen off Sweden in breathtaking fashion with international rookie Artem Dovbyk heading a winner when the contest looked destined for penalties. Sweden had clung on in extra-time following the sending off of their defender Marcus Danielson, only to be defeated right at the death.
Andriy Shevchenko’s team will now fly to Rome to face England in the quarter-finals.

    HAVE YOUR SAY
Ukraine have done it! They’ve set up a landmark quarter final tie with England on Saturday in Rome. Who are you backing to make it to the final four?

PEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!IT’S ALL OVER AT HAMPDEN PARK!UKRAINE WILL FACE ENGLAND IN ROME!
    SWEDEN 1-2 UKRAINE
    120+1. Astonishing scenes!
In stoppage time at the end of extra-time, substitute Artem Dovbyk has sent Ukraine into the quarter-finals of the European Championships!
Having scored the opener, Oleksandr Zinchenko now creates the winner with a beautifully pinpoint cross from the left touchline that’s perfect for Dovbyk arriving between two defenders.
Stooping low, the striker’s connection is true as he heads past Robin Olsen for his first international goal.
Only in Andriy Shevchenko’s squad due to Junior Moraes’ injury, the 23-year-old has made himself a national hero. He rips his shirt off in celebration – earning a booking that won’t bother him – before being mobbed by teammates and staff.
There’s a short anxious wait as VAR check for an offside, but Dovbyk had timed his run to perfection, and is just played on by Victor Lindelof.
Ukraine are destined for Rome and the quarter-finals.

GOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAALLLLL!!ARTEM DOVBYK HAS WON IT FOR UKRAINE!!
    SWEDEN 1-1 UKRAINE
    120. And immediately Bezus has gone down holding his face in the penalty area.
I’m not sure why though, Helander was only holding his ground as they collided while going for a cross.
    SWEDEN 1-1 UKRAINE
    118. A 12th and – thankfully – final substitution brings Roman Bezus into the action. Off goes Serhiy Sydorchuk.
    SWEDEN 1-1 UKRAINE
    116. Malinovskyi takes aim twice.
His first shot is blocked, his second is a volley the drops a good two yards wide of goal.
    SWEDEN 1-1 UKRAINE
    112. Are Ukraine having a go here?
A break into the box sees Karavaev attempting to nip the ball past a sliding Marcus Berg, who is then caught in the face by the Ukrainian’s knee.
The Sweden striker, playing in a deeper role than usual, is the latest walking wounded out there.
    SWEDEN 1-1 UKRAINE
    110. Momentary excitement as Dovbyk bundles his way through on goal before blasting hopelessly over.
The offside flag goes up so wouldn’t have counted even if he hadn’t have skied it towards Celtic Park.
    SWEDEN 1-1 UKRAINE
    108. Oh, and Andriy Yarmolenko has been replaced by Artem Dovbyk.
It’s the 11th substitution of the game, nine of which have taken place in extra-time so it’s not surprise that I’ve lost track of who’s on and who’s off – and it’s not just because I’ve been operating with a blunt pencil.
    SWEDEN 1-1 UKRAINE
    106. So, here we go for 15 minutes of pre-penalties stop-start football.
A shootout looks so inevitable at this point that I’m going to sharpen my pencil.
    PEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!THE GAME RESTARTS!
PEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!THAT’S THE END OF THE FIRST PERIOD!
    SWEDEN 1-1 UKRAINE
115+5. It’s like a scene from a war film out there now with players lying injured all across the pitch.
Yarmolenko is the latest receiving treatment.

    SWEDEN 1-1 UKRAINE
    105. Another player hits the deck as we go into stoppage time at the end of extra-time’s first period.
It’s Emil Krafth, who has taken a Zinchenko cross full in the face.

    SWEDEN 1-1 UKRAINE
    103. Artem Besedin hobbles off behind the goal, clearly in pain and distress, and is replaced by Viktor Tsygankov.
    HAVE YOUR SAY
Marcus Danielson sent off for a nasty challenge on Besedin after the ref consulted VAR, having only awarded a yellow initially…

    SWEDEN 1-1 UKRAINE
    101. And here’s another change.
Filip Helander is no stranger to Glasgow, having won the Scottish Premiership with Rangers, and he’s on to replace Kristoffer Olsson.
Meanwhile, the recipient of Danielson’s studs, Besedin, doesn’t look as though he’ll be able to continue. The striker only came on at the start of extra-time but is now having his leg heavily strapped.
    SWEDEN 1-1 UKRAINE
    100. Sweden will have to play the remaining 20 minutes of extra-time with ten men after referee Daniele Orsato upgraded Danielson’s punishment to a red card, having consulted the pitchside monitor.
Having just made three changes, Janne Andersson will have to tinker with his backline once again.

Sterling was brilliant. Pickford was brilliant. Shaw was brilliant. Grealish, when finally allowed on, was brilliant. Kane scored. Southgate was 💯 vindicated in every decision he took. And we beat the Germans. What a day to be an England football fan. Fabulous. 👏👏— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) June 29, 2021

    COLD AS RICE
Declan Rice says England have proven their doubters wrong after delivering under pressure to bet Germany.
The West Ham ace beamed: “It’s incredible. A lot of people, if you have looked at the group stage games, had written us off, complaints about the performances, not scoring enough goals
“You read a load of things but as players you put to the back of your mind and want to prove people wrong
“Today with a full house everyone had that fire in the belly to go out there and for one, knock Germany out of the tournament and, two, for us to progress to the next round.”

    PICK OF THE BUNCH
Jordan Pickford says the rocking atmosphere at Wembley have given England all the incentive they need to win their quarter-final on Saturday.
He said: “We’ve had the opportunity to play four games at Wembley and the atmosphere of 45,000 fans today was amazing.
“I think that just gives us the desire on Saturday against Sweden or Ukraine, it is another opportunity to come back to Wembley.
“Come Saturday we will be prepared for what they put up against us.”

    THE HEAT IS ON
Another mammoth effort from England’s defence.
The Three Lions are yet to concede at Euro 2020, and will be looking for another clean sheet in the quarters.

    AND THEN THERE WERE EIGHT
England are the second-last team to reach the Euro quarters.
They will play the winner of tonight’s clash between Ukraine and Sweden.
But who else has made the last eight?

    GREAL DEAL
Jack Grealish admits he ‘loved’ beating Germany after a great cameo from the bench.
The Aston Villa captain said: “I loved it. It’s always nice when the fans are calling your name but it’s not about me, it’s about the team.
“I came on and just tried to create. I came on and played a part in the first goal and got the assist for the second so I think it was a good performance from myself.
“Even though at the start I was slipping all over the place actually but it ended well.”

ROME IS WHERE THE HEART IS
Can Three Lions fans travel to Rome for the quarters?
Can England fans already in Italy go to the game at all?
    And what about quarantine rules?
    WE’VE GOT THE ANSWERS HERE

    HIGHLIGHTS
Let’s relive those fantastic scenes at full time.
Just a reminder – it’s England’s FIRST knockout win against the Germans in 55 years!
England beat Germany in tense Euro 2020 match at Wembley
    MAN MOUNTAIN
    Rice and Phillips were outstanding.

    RACE FOR FITNESS
Maguire went on to describe his battle to get back to full fitness and the toll it took on him.
He said: “It’s been a tough couple of months for myself.
“To miss the Europa League final with Manchester United and then have doubts over what game and whether I’d be fit for the Euros.
“Full credit to all the medical staff at Manchester United and England  to get me ready and available for the last game and this one.
“I feel good, I was tired in the second half but it’s expected.
“I haven’t trained that much and I haven’t played football for seven weeks so I’m sure I’ll get better, I’ll keep improving and keep getting my fitness to where it should be.
“As a player and team, we are feeling good.”
    CLEAN SHEET
England defensive rock Harry Maguire explained how important keeping a clean sheet was.
He said: “We have excellent defenders in this country. Sometimes with all the scrutiny that the Premier League gets, every goal gets analysed and people pick up on the little slightest things.
“But we have excellent defenders and a magnificent goalkeeper behind us, who everytime he has put on the shirt for England he has been magnificent.
“Probably the goalkeeping No1 spot for England is the most scrutinised position in world football.
“We have excellent players but it’s not just us defenders or the keeper, it’s a unit, a base, it comes from Gareth and the way he sets us up. Of course, the forward lads in terms of the way they press.
“How many times have you seen Raheem come back and tackle the full back and centre back today was incredible.
“It starts from the front and finishes with us.
“Keeping clean sheets is always nice and a big bonus for us defenders but the main thing is winning football matches.
    STAT ATTACK
Sterling continued his scoring streak in front of goal.

    SOUTHGATE ON TACTICAL SWITCH
England manager explained the tactical switch after the game: “You know you change the shape, you pick certain personnel in place of others and if it goes wrong you’re dead.
“We had to go about it in the way we believed. We wanted aggressive pressure all over the field and we felt that to match them up was the right way of doing that.
“We felt that speed in behind Harry would cause them problems. I thought that Bukayo [Saka] and Raheem [Sterling] really created that jeopardy in behind their backline right from the start.
“We also defended brilliantly and our goalkeeper was immense. It was a tremendous performance.”
    SOUTHGATE’S REDEMPTION
Twenty-five years on……… he got his redemption.

    RAHEEM THE DREAM
Raheem Sterling continues to perform at Euro 2020 and he got his third goal of the tournament.

    MORE RICE
Here’s what Rice had to say on England progressing to the quarter-finals: “We don’t want to get too ahead of ourselves because Saturday is a massive game as well now.
“We travel to Rome, we want to win that and progress into the semi-finals.
“But all I can say about today is the occasion, the fans, the players, how we were up for it in the changing room…
“I’ve not been part of a team with togetherness like this.
“We’re all in it with each other and we really believe we have the quality and we really believe with the tournament pretty much being at Wembley we can keep progressing.”
    KANE SPEAKS
Captain Kane gave his post-match assessment.

The 32-year-old was given his marching orders via a VAR review into his challenge in extra time with the scores tied at 1-1.
Danielson is only the fourth player to receive a red card in extra-time of a Euros match.

The winger hurt his knee in France’s Euro group game against Hungary.
And he has since undergone surgery in Finland, ruling him out of the start of next season.

    2. Shaw delivers the free-kick into the penalty area, but Ginter heads the danger clear.
Both Shaw and Trippier will be on set-piece duty this evening.
    ENGLAND 0-0 GERMANY
    1. Germany get the game underwayAnd they’re met with boos as the ball is played back!
The ball is pumped long towards England’s backline – and the Three Lions get their foot on the ball.
Muller comes in from the side and clatters into Maguire, and England have an early free-kick.
    PEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!
    AND WE’RE OFF AT WEMBLEY!
    HERE WE GO!
    HERE COME THE TEAMS
Both sets of players are making their way out onto the pitch, and they’re met with a rapturous round of applause!
Harry Kane leads out England in their home colours of white, and his side have a chance to create their own legacy tonight.
A win against Germany tonight could be England’s biggest victory at the new Wembley stadium.
If England can get past the Germans, they’ll go on to face either Sweden or Ukraine – who play later.
And if England find their way into the semi-finals, they’ll have to get past either the Czech Republic or Denmark.
Legendary goalkeeper Neuer leads out Germany, who in recent tournaments have put in a poor showing.
But they’re looking good so far at Euro 2020.
The atmosphere inside Wembley is ELECTRIC!
Cue the national anthems……… Germany to go first.

    SOUTHGATE SPEAKS
Gareth Southgate gave his pre-match thoughts to the BBC.
He said: “The past means great excitement for everybody.
“It’s great nostalgia but this team are about making their own stories over the past four years and they have another chance to do that tonight.
“The teams Germany have already played have had big problems with the overloads of their wing-backs.
“We’ve got to deal with that but then we’ve also got to cause them problems with our system.
“Our focus has been as much with the ball as it has been without it this week.
“We did know that the tactical problem in our defending third of the field is one we had to resolve.”

    AT THE DOUBLE
Germany’s Ilkay Gündogan has scored twice at Wembley Stadium, for Borussia Dortmund in the 2013 Champions League final and for Manchester City in the Premier League.
He could become just the second player to score at the ground for a club side and the German national team, after Per Mertesacker.
    Gundogan starts from the bench.
    TURBO TIMO
Germany boss Joachim Low highlighted Timo Werner’s terrifying pace as one of his strengths.
Speaking to ARD, Low said: “We need depth up-front today and Timo Werner offers a lot of qualities there.
“He has tremendous pace and can hurt defences that way.”
Rio Ferdinand – on BBC pundit duty – agrees with Low’s assessment of Werner.
Ferdinand said: “Werner is the one player in this team that can stretch our back line.
“He did it in the Champions League final against Manchester City.
“He’ll get chances. In the Premier League he’s fluffed them. This is different in a German shirt.”

    CAPTAIN KANE
Here’s what England captain Harry Kane had to say ahead of the game.

‘THEY’VE GOT TO MAKE THEIR OWN HISTORY’
Man Utd legend and former England international Rio Ferdinand has called on Gareth Southgate’s young Three Lions to “make their own history”.
Speaking in the build-up to the game, he said: “I’m super excited. The fans are going crazy.
“They’re enjoying the moment. The VTs, us here, all of the media, we talk about the past and we talk about the history.
“It’s important for the players to forget history. Gareth Southgate says history is irrelevant to this squad.
“They’ve got to make their own history and do not let this opportunity pass by.”
    LOWDOWN

    EXTRA-TIME

Do you think this be a one-sided affair, or will it be more evenly matched and end up going into extra-time and maybe even… penalties?

    WORLD IN MOTION
    Are you nervous yet?

    ALL OR NOTHING
Joachim Low believes it is “all or nothing” from today’s game.
He said: “It’s all or nothing from here on in.
“We have been erratic, but we know that we can be strong if we manage to get a few things right on the pitch.
“If we don’t, it gets tricky for us. It’s going to be a completely different type of match against England and we should benefit from that.
“England are at home and they will have to attack. It will be more open than against Hungary, but we must absolutely be on our toes.”

    RAHEEM THE DREAM
Raheem Sterling has scored 14 goals in his last 19 appearances for England, after scoring just twice in his first 45 appearances for the national team.
All 16 of Sterling’s goals for England have come in competitive internationals, with only Steve Bloomer scoring more with every goal coming in competitive games (28 goals, all in Home Nations matches).

    GOOD EVENING
Welcome to Hampden Park for our live coverage of Euro 2020’s final Round of 16 game between Sweden and Ukraine.
Now, I know your attention is currently elsewhere, but the United Kingdom can handle two big events at once – and the prize for the winner here is the very same as it is in the game you’re watching: a quarter-final match in Rome.
Sweden arrive in Glasgow in good spirits and in even better form, having extended their unbeaten run to eight games with a dramatic win over Poland on Wednesday.
That 3-2 success ensured the Scandinavians finished top of what had been a daunting Group E, and has now positioned them on the desirable side of the draw.
And in a joyous twist, it was also a result of huge value to Ukraine.
With two defeats and a negative goal difference to their name in Group C, Andriy Shevchenko’s squad were heading home until Viktor Claesson’s stoppage time winner pathed a Ukrainian route to the knockouts as one of the best third-placed sides.
But now Ukraine are aiming to eliminate those that kept them in the competition, and, in Andriy Yarmolenko and Roman Yaremchuk, they have players in form every bit as impressive as those in the Swedish squad.
Shevchenko does have issues to contend with on the left, but injuries to Denys Popov and Aleksandr Zubkov may offer Viktor Tsygankov a first chance to shine.
Janne Andersen has only made two changes to his Sweden team in their three matches so far, and the head coach is likely to keep faith with those that have got them to this point including the three-goal Emil Forsberg.
Stay with us for all the build-up in Glasgow including confirmation of both starting line-ups ahead of an 8pm kick-off.

TEAM NEWS – ENGLAND VS GERMANY
Gareth Southgate has shifted to a five-man defence as England look to book their place in the Euro 2020 quarters.
Kyle Walker tucks inside along with John Stones and Harry Maguire, leaving Kieran Trippier and Luke Shaw on the flanks.
Kalvin Phillips and Declan Rice hold the fort in midfield, with Bukayo Saka and Raheem Sterling supporting Harry Kane up top.
Meanwhile, Germany have handed starts to Chelsea trio Timo Werner, Kai Havertz and Antonio Rudiger.
But Ilkay Gundogan is not fit enough to start, with Leon Goretzka taking his place in midfield.

    BRU-NO
Bruno Fernandes was meant to be the man to inspire Portugal to a second straight European Championship victory.
But to be blunt, Fernandes was utterly anonymous at the tournament.
Let’s take a closer look at just how poor the Man Utd star was…

    ‘BITTER’
Man Utd legend Rio Ferdinand has labelled former United manager Jose Mourinho “bitter” over his Luke Shaw comments.
Shaw struggled under Mourinho and the pair have made public comments about it recently.
But Ferdinand has come to Shaw’s defence.
Speaking on his FIVE YouTube channel: “I don’t get it man. Jose Mourinho, look at who he is.
“The guy, the main man, I love Mourinho. He’s a manager I would have loved to play for. But leave the kid alone.
“You messed up his career. He would argue Luke Shaw messed up his career.
“He has to take some responsibility (Luke Shaw) for this period as well, where he didn’t do well under Mourinho.
“But as a manager you have to take a bit of responsibility too in getting the best out of players, that’s your job, that’s your remit to get the best out the players at your disposal but he didn’t with Luke Shaw.
“But leave the kid alone, you’re talking about him taking corners. Please, there’s more to talk about than Luke Shaw taking corners.
“It feels a bit personal to me and it just goes back to me as a pundit now. One of the main things I said when I started this any type of appraisal, or breaking down a situation or a club, it can’t be personal.
“I think Jose, you can tell there’s a bit of bitterness about it. Luke doing well doesn’t reflect well on Jose Mourinho.
“That’s the problem and where the bitterness probably stems from.”

    MAN MOUNTAIN
Man Utd are celebrating a decade of David de Gea, and have posted a throwback to his outstanding performance against Spurs in 2019.

    JACK ATTACK
Aston Villa are hopeful that Jack Grealish will sign a new deal, ending Man City and Man Utd’s interest in the England international.
According to the Telegraph, the Villans are optimistic about their chances of tying Grealish down to a new deal.
The England international is attracting a lot of attention from a host of top clubs.
And just days ago it was reported that Man City were close to agreeing a deal for the winger worth £100m.
But now there’s optimism that Grealish will stay put and be apart of Villa’s long-term future.
    HARD TO MANAGE
Sven-Goran Eriksson revealed he rejected offers from Chelsea and Manchester United while he was England manager, writes MARC MAYO.
The Swede was in charge of the Three Lions between 2001 and 2006 and went to three major tournaments.
And he revealed that he was in talks with the two Premier League giants over club managerial roles.
Speaking to Ladbrokes, Sven said: “During my time as England manager, I had contact with Manchester United and then Chelsea.
“But it’s almost impossible to leave your contract early as the England national manager to then go on and take over an English club. If you leave England, people will not look very good at you.
“There were discussions with those two clubs, but they never led to anything, and I’m proud to have stuck to my decision to stay in charge of the national team.”
    GLORY GLORY MAN UTD
Will Man Utd add any trophies to the trophy cabinet this season?

    CAV THAT
Roma have an agreement with Man Utd striker Edinson Cavani, according to reports in Italy.
Despite the 34-year-old signing an extension at United, after having a successful season in front of goal – the Uruguayan is being linked with a return to Italy.
Rumours are circling that Edin Dzeko is close to leaving Roma, and former United boss Jose Mourinho wants Cavani as his replacement.
Damiano Coccia ‘Er Faina’ told the Calciomercato Show on CMIT TV (via Sport Witness): “If Dzeko goes away, Cavani arrives.
“The problem isn’t Dzeko, who wants to leave, but that there’s no team that wants to take the Bosnian. There was a Juventus poll but they are unwilling to give them what they ask for.”
Although it seems unlikely to happen, if it did, Man Utd would be owed compensation.
He added: “Tiago Pinto is strongly probing Cavani, in principle there’s a basic agreement between the club and the player.
“The problem is that Cavani isn’t expiring and it will be necessary to give United compensation.”
    DAVE SAVES
Man Utd goalkeeper joined the club a decade ago today!

‘I’M SURE HE KNOWS THE PLAYERS’
Marcus Rashford has backed England team-mate Jadon Sancho to make an impact against Germany.
The Man Utd-linked winger Sancho currently plays in the Bundesliga for Borussia Dourtmund.
And today he’ll be facing some familiar faces when England take on Germany at Wembley.
Rashford said: “In a way, yes, because he’s played a lot of football against them, more than the rest of us.
“I’m sure he knows the players, their characteristics, strengths and weaknesses and he’s definitely someone that can exploit them.
“If one thing doesn’t quite work we have a big opportunity to change things and adapt in the game.
“Adaptability is one of the biggest skills in football and there’s a lot of times in a game where you have to change or tweak something slightly to hurt your opponents.
“The fact that he’s played against them a lot, he’s hurt them a lot as well, it will be a big factor for us.”

    POG TOP
Now that France are out of Euro 2020, Man Utd COULD focus on tying Paul Pogba down to a new deal.
The deal could see him leapfrog David de Gea at the top of Man Utd’s highest earners list.
The wages of Manchester United’s current players
    KEANE-POGBA PARTNERSHIP
Roy Keane’s old rival Patrick Vieira believes that Keane would have been the perfect midfield partner to unlock Paul Pogba.
The ITV pundit, speaking after France’s shock Euro 2020 exit to Switzerland, said: “Yes I completely agree when you look at his potential, what he can do on the field, you expect more from him.
“I think if he played next to Roy he would be a different player.
“He needs somebody behind his back, to put him under pressure every day, to be really demanding on him.”
    ‘HE CAN BE FRUSTRATING’
Man Utd legend Roy Keane has said that midfielder Paul Pogba “can be frustrating”.
France spectacularly crashed out of Euro 2020 on penalties to Switzerland.
And Pogba scored a worldie, but struggled in parts of the game – leading to criticism from both Gary Neville and Keane.
Keane, in particular, said: “He can be frustrating.
“This is all a part of Paul’s character, which people love to see, but then I’d be looking at the goal they conceded in injury time, where he was sloppy in midfield. That’s the bit I’d be really critical about.
“It seems harsh because he’s done some brilliant stuff going forward tonight. There’s no doubting Paul’s quality, just the other side, maybe his maturity.
“We’ve mentioned all night, and United have had the same problem, can he play in a two in midfield? He probably can’t, doesn’t have the discipline.
“He was at his best in Juventus when he probably got a bit more freedom and was surrounded by more men, more characters, probably better quality players.
“But even today, he still leaves you frustrated. For all his brilliant quality coming forward, I still think he lacks that discipline defensively.
“That’s the key, the top players manage to do it week in week out and Paul, to me, still doesn’t quite do it.”

According to the Telegraph, Jamaica are aiming to persuade the United academy graduate – who is eligible to play for the country due to his parents.
Greenwood was in Gareth Southgate’s provisional England squad ahead of Euro 2020.
But an injury saw Greenwood pull himself out of contention for the final squad.

    GOOD MORNING RED DEVILS FANS
Jadon Sancho looks set to become Manchester United’s second-highest earner.
He will pen a contract worth £350,000 a WEEK – TRIPLE his current wages at Borussia Dortmund.
David De Gea is United’s top earner on £375k a week.
And Sancho’s arrival will push Paul Pogba down to third, with £290k a week.
Meanwhile, Jamaica are lining up a move to convince Mason Greenwood to switch nationalities, reports say.
The Caribbean nation are looking to make a big push for the World Cup next year and have recently persuaded West Ham forward Michail Antonio to play in their qualifiers.
Greenwood qualifies for Jamaica through his parents and is able to switch allegiances despite featuring for England in a Uefa Nations League game.
Finally, Ben Amos has completed a free transfer to Wigan after reportedly rejecting an emotional return to Man United.
The 31-year-old allowed his contract to run down at Charlton Athletic before agreeing a two-year deal at the DW Stadium.
The Addicks were keen to re-sign him this summer as were another of his former clubs, United, according to the Mail.
The report adds that the Red Devils were interested in additional goalkeeping cover but Amos wanted to play regular football.
    STEVIE GLEE
Former Man United defender Phil Neville has named his dream five-a-side team – where he picked Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard over Paul Scholes.
The Inter Miami manager did name four of his former Red Devils team-mates.
But he forgot to include his close friend!
What do you make of Neville’s famous five?

    PAUL THE OTHER ONE
Paul Pogba scored a mind-blowing goal for France against Switzerland.
The Man United star pulled the trigger on an incredible long-range rocket to net the decisive strike for his side.

    FER REAL
Bruno Fernandes was meant to be the man to inspire Portugal to a second straight European Championship victory.
But to be blunt, the Man United ace was utterly anonymous at the tournament.
Here’s a close look at how poor Fernandes was at Euro 2020…

    I AM THE LLOR
Man Utd target Marcos Llorente has opened up over his future and admitted ‘anything can happen’.
The Atletico Madrid star told AS: “‘I have many years left (on my contract). My idea is to stay, I’m fine, I’m happy at Atletico Madrid.
“We have had a great season winning La Liga. Anything can happen in football, but I don’t think about that kind of thing.
“There were conversations a long time ago, it is true, but nothing happened and the negotiation was not completed. I have no problem.”

    THAT’S ALL FROM CUIABA
Lionel Messi led Argentina to a 4-1 Copa America triumph at the Arena Pantanal on the same night he became his country’s most capped player of all time.
Messi eclipsed former Barcelona team-mate Javier Mascherano’s record and registered his 148th international appearance, which he celebrated with an impressive brace that sealed first place in the Albiceleste’s group.
Lionel Scaloni’s men opened the scoring after just six minutes when the Argentine captain’s perfect ball found Papu Gomez unmarked and the Sevilla star beat Carlos Lampe with a fine finish.
Gomez was then floored by Diego Bejarano inside the area and Messi hit the target from the penalty spot in the 33rd minute.
The Barcelona legend completed his brace just nine minutes later thanks to a scintillating flick over Lampe, following a superb cross by Sergio Aguero who also registered his 100th international appearance.
Bolivia showed some life in the second half as Erwin Saavedra beat Franco Armani with a fine finish following a beautiful low cross from Leonel Justiniano in the hour-mark.
But Lautaro Martinez sealed Argentina’s triumph just five minutes later following a moment of confusion in the Bolivians’ box.
Bolivia could have suffered a heavier defeat if it wasn’t for goalkeeper Lampe, who made a total of nine saves.
The 34-year-old shot stopper made a series of crucial saves as he kept out two consecutive efforts by Martinez on 70 minutes.
