AC Milan star Olivier Giroud revealed he left Chelsea because “the time had come”.
Giroud said: “The time had come to leave Chelsea and discover a new league.

    TRANSFER LISTED
Arsenal are reportedly set to sell six players during the summer transfer window.
That is according to the Daily Express, who report that Hector Bellerin, Eddie Nketiah, Willian, Sead Kolasinac, Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Reiss Nelson may leave this month.
The Gunners are looking to add to their squad before the transfer window slams shut at the end of the month.
However, the north Londoners’ boss Mikel Arteta will need to sell first in order to raise funds
    OD MAN OUT
Real Madrid could sell Martin Odegaard during the summer transfer window.
That is according to Football London, who report that new Real boss Carlo Ancelotti has some doubts about Odegaard’s role in the team.
The playmaker wants to stay and fight for a place in Ancelotti’s starting line-up but it seems like the Italian will continue with Toni Kroos, Casemiro and Luka Modric in the middle of the park.
The Norway international spent the second half of last season on loan at the Gunners, who wish to sign him on a permanent basis this summer

    GREAL BLOW
Manchester City’s hopes of landing Tottenham star Harry Kane this summer will end with the arrival of Jack Grealish.
City submitted a £100million offer for Grealish and look to finalise their first major signing of the summer.
According to Manchester Evening News, a move for Kane will no longer be financially viable if the Aston Villa star joins.
That is unless the Citizens make significant player sales in the summer transfer window.
The Spurs superstar is valued at more than £100m by the north Londoners, who do not want to sell their talismanic striker.
However, the 28-year-old didn’t show up for training today and thus a possible transfer saga could get messy
    POCH ON POGBA
Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino insists he already has ‘plenty of players’ amid rumours suggesting Manchester United star Paul Pogba may move to Paris.
Pochettino said: “You see the list of the players that we have at home, we have plenty of players.
“Half of the squad is at home. A few are on holiday.
“I think the performance was good, I am happy, and I don’t want to talk about names of players who are in other clubs”
    RODGERS ON MADDISON
Leicester ace James Maddison wants to stay at King Power Stadium, according to Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers.
Rodgers said: “In conversations with the club, we don’t have to sell. That’s something that’s been made clear.
“The players want to stay. It’s a really exciting time at the club.
“There’s lots of gossip and speculation around but I’m loving working with the guys here, they love being here, and we certainly have no need to sell. So I would suspect we’re looking to keep our best players”
    TOP GUI
Liverpool are set to rival Arsenal for Real Betis ace Guido Rodriguez.
According to Fichajes, the Reds are keeping tabs on Rodriguez as they are looking for a midfielder to take Georginio Wijnaldum’s place.
The 27-year-old helped Argentina win this summer’s Copa America.
And now a bidding war could be on the cards

    NEVER SAY NEVES
Manchester United target Ruben Neves has spoken to Wolves TV on new boss Bruno Lage.
Neves has been linked with a move to United with Paul Pogba’s future up in the air, but it seems the midfielder is happy to stay at Molineux.
The Portugal international said: “He’s a very good coach. I am really happy to work with him.
“I spoke with a few friends when he signed for Wolves – that were players in Benfica and are good friends of mine – and they said a lot of good things about him.
“I can see it now. He’s a very good coach with lots of good ideas. I think that when things are completely together, we’ll be a really hard team to beat”
    WHEN IN ROM
Tottenham are close to signing Atalanta star Cristian Romero in the summer transfer window.
That is according to Football London, who claim that discussions have taken place between the two sides and an agreement close to £43million is close.
The deal is in its final stages, with Romero keen to join the north Londoners and the centre-back has already agreed terms with the club.
With an agreement in principle between the two clubs, the transfer is now just awaiting Atalanta’s chase for a replacement
    ARSENAL TRANSFER PLANS
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has told £50million arrival Ben White that he won’t be his last significant transfer this summer, according to the Athletic.
The Gunners have been linked with a move for Inter Milan centre-forward Lautaro Martinez, while James Maddison and Martin Odegaard have also been mentioned as Arsenal targets.
Albert Sambi Lokonga and Nuno Tavares have already been brought in by Arteta this summer.
But with the promise of more to come then Arsenal fans can start to get excited about the 2021/22 season
    HAALAND EXCLUSIVE
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s new contract could put Manchester United in pole position to sign Borussia Dortmund superstar Erling Haaland next year, reports SunSport’s Phil Thomas.
United narrowly missed out on Haaland when he left Red Bull Salzburg for Dortmund 18 months ago.
The 21-year-old has a close relationship with his fellow countryman and was unwilling to take the chance on moving to Old Trafford if the manager was about to be sacked.
Both the star striker and his father, former Manchester City star Alf-Inge, admitted they did not want to risk working under a boss they had no vibe for if Solskjaer was axed.
The United boss gave the Norway international his debut as a teenager at Molde.
And now that his own long-term future has been secured after signing a new three-year contract last week, the Red Devils’ top brass hope that will leave them as favourites to sign Haaland next summer

    KOUNDE RECAP
Tottenham ace Davinson Sanchez is reportedly in talks over a transfer to Sevilla to replace Chelsea target Jules Kounde, according to SunSport’s Dylan Terry.
The Blues are closing in on a deal for Kounde having already had a bid of £30million plus Kurt Zouma rejected.
And according to The Mail, if Kounde’s transfer is confirmed, talks could intensify as the LaLiga side search for someone to fill his boots.
And the France international’s replacement could be Sanchez
    KANE RECAP
Harry Kane didn’t report for Tottenham training this morning.
That is according to Sky Sports, who are reporting that Kane has not arrived at Spurs’ training ground.
The star striker was due to report back following an extended holiday after England’s Euro 2020 campaign.
The 28-year-old publicly told the north Londoners in May he wanted to leave the club with Manchester City keen on signing the England captain.
And with Kane failing to show up for training this morning this transfer saga could get messy…
    JACK’S BACK
Manchester City target Jack Grealish has returned to Aston Villa training, according to Sky Sports.
The 25-year-old has been strongly linked with a £100million move to the Etihad this summer.
Unlike other City target Harry Kane, Grealish has returned to training with his current club after an extended break following England’s Euro 2020 campaign.
    GUNNERS BID FOR GUIMARAES
The Gunners are set to table an opening offer for Lyon midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.
According to Globoesporte, Arsenal are set to table a bid worth around £25million for the 23-year-old Brazilian.
However Lyon are set to hold out for closer to £35million.
It seems as though Mikel Arteta’s side have moved on from Guimaraes’ Lyon teammate Houssem Aouar, as the Gunners look to continue their summer spending after splashing a combined £75million on Nuno Tavares, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Ben White.

    BREAKING NEWS
Harry Kane has NOT reported for Tottenham training this morning.
Sky Sports are reporting that the 28-year-old has not arrived at Spurs’ training ground after being due to report back today following an extended holiday after England’s Euro 2020 campaign.
Kane publicly told Spurs in May he wanted to leave the club with Manchester City keen on signing the England captain.
And with Kane failing to show up for training this morning this transfer saga could get messy…

    JAMES JETTING OFF?
James Rodriguez has been told he can leave Everton and is not in Rafa Benitez’s plans, SUNNI UPAL reports.
And the Colombian playmaker admitted his transfer situation is ‘complicated’ and he needs to play at a place he feels ‘wanted’.
Rodriguez, 30, hit the ground running after signing for Everton from Real Madrid last year.
But he was plagued by injuries and played just five times after February – scoring only once.
Everton have just appointed Benitez to take over as manager after Carlo Ancelotti left for Real Madrid.
And the Liverpool Echo say that Spanish boss Benitez has doesn’t plan to use Rodriguez this season.

    PREMIER LEAGUE RETURN?
Wolves are interested in bringing Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey back to the Premier League, DYLAN TERRY reports.
The 30-year-old Welshman has struggled to secure a first team place at the Serie A giants.
And according to Calcio Mercato, the former Arsenal man is set to be offered a transfer back to the Premier League by Wolves.
Ramsey has often been used as a substitute since arriving in Italy in 2019.
He has played 65 times for Juventus but only managed to score six goals, a poor return from the attacking midfielder.
    SPURS EYE ADAMA
New Spurs boss Nuno Espirito Santo is keen for a reunion with Adama Traore.
According to reports the 25-year-old may be available for £30million, with Liverpool also said to be interested in his signature.
The Spain international struggled with a shoulder injury last season, but showed glimpses of his ability at Molineux.
And Nuno Espirito Santo is eager to link up with a man he spent a lot of time working with at Wolves.
    TRIPPING UP
Talks between Manchester United and Atletico Madrid for Kieran Trippier have reportedly stalled.
The Red Devils are not keen to pay the £30million Atletico are holding out for.
United believe the asking price is too high for the 30-year-old who has just one year remaining on his contract.
Atletico do have the option to extend his contract by a year though, which is why they’re asking for such a high fee.
But with United on a spending spree this summer and Kieran Trippier desperate to return to the Manchester area near where he grew up there could be developments in this one in the coming days.
    CANARIES EYE WILLIAMS
Newly promoted Norwich are in talks with United over a loan move for Brandon Williams, according to the Mirror.
Southampton were favourites for a loan move, but with talks stalling between United and the Saints it’s Norwich who are now favourites to sign the 20-year-old.
The Canaries have one Premier league loan slot left after taking Billy Gilmour on loan from Chelsea, and with cover needed at full-back for Max Aarons on the right and Dimitris Giannoulis on the left the versatile Brandon Williams could be a welcome addition.
    GET HIM OFF THE BOOKS
Schalke are considering terminating the contract of former Liverpool defender Ozan Kabak having so far failed to find the player a transfer, MARC MAYO reports.
The Reds paid £1million to loan the Turkey international in January but opted against a £17m purchase option.
The centre-back failed to impress in just 13 appearances and Liverpool instead turned their attention to Ibrahima Konate, who signed from RB Leipzig earlier this summer.
A wealth of clubs have been linked with Kabak, 21, since but a move has failed to get off the ground.
Therefore, Schalke could be forced into terminating his contract as they struggle to pay his wages.

    MATHEUS ON THE MOVE?
West Ham are leading the way in their pursuit of West Brom playmaker Matheus Pereira, DYLAN TERRY reports.
The 25-year-old was one of the few bright sparks for the Baggies during a 2020-21 campaign which saw them relegated from the Premier League.
But unlike his current club, Pereira could make an instant return to the top flight in time for the new season.
According to journalist Ekrem Konur, the Brazilian playmaker is ‘very close’ to sealing a move to West Ham.

    AARON WANTS ARSENAL
Sheffield United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale wants to join Arsenal, according to talkSPORT.
The 23-year-old shotstopper has already been the subject of two rejected bids by the Blades from Arsenal, but the Gunners are expected to return with a third.
Relegated Sheffield United want around £30million for Ramsdale, with Arsenal keen to add a goalkeeper to provide competition for Bernd Leno in between the sticks.
Burnley and Watford are also said to be fans, but Ramsdale is only interested in joining Arsenal.
    SAINTS MAKE THEIR MOVE
Southampton are set to win the race for Chelsea youngster Tino Livramento, according to reports.
The 18-year-old is entering the final year of his contract at Stamford Bridge but talks over an extension are said to have collapsed.
Thomas Tuchel called the defender up to two Premier League matchday squads last season but he is yet to make a senior debut for the club.
Interest heightened in Livramento earlier in the summer and Brighton were linked amid talk that he wanted first-team football next season.
But, according to the Mail, negotiations have advanced over a £5million transfer to Southampton.

    OLIVIER DELIVERS
Olivier Giroud needed just four minutes to open his account on his AC Milan debut.
The French striker came off the bench against Nice just after the hour mark in their pre-season friendly.
And by the 66th minute, he had equalised for the Rossoneri in trademark fashion.
Samu Castillejo whipped in a teasing outswinging free-kick from the left.
And Giroud rose high above his marker to thump in a header at the back post.
It proved to be Milan’s only shot on target in the game as they salvaged a 1-1 draw at Nice’s Allianz Riviera.

    KANE AND GREALISH LATEST
Manchester City will have to sell some players if they want to sign both Jack Grealish and Harry Kane this summer, according to reports.
The Citizens have launched a £100million bid to sign the Villa captain, a move that would make him the most expensive British player of all time.
Grealish, 25, flew back to the UK this week following a holiday but is still waiting for the green light from his club to grant a move.
And according to the Manchester Evening News, that deal would force City to end their pursuit of Kane – unless they can raise some cash.
Manager Pep Guardiola is keen on the England captain but Spurs chief Daniel Levy is refusing to let him go for less than £160m.

    WHAT THE BELL
Hector Bellerin had Arsenal fans fuming as his howler gifted Chelsea a winner in their pre-season friendly.
The Spaniard, 26, came on at right-back, replacing Calum Chambers at the Emirates.

    VAN DE BULK
Donny van de Beek has undergone a radical change in nutrition and gym work over the summer to get in tip-top shape for Manchester United.
The Dutchman endured a desperately disappointing first season in England, starting only four Premier League games for his new club.

    RAPH DAZZLED
Darren Fletcher has been credited with helping Manchester United sign Raphael Varane.
The club’s technical director reportedly helped persuade the Real Madrid star to move to Old Trafford.
According to ESPN, former United midfielder Fletcher and director of football John Murtough played an important role in convincing Varane to join the club.
The signing is a major coup for the Red Devils with Varane’s arrival expected to help them mount a prolonged title challenge.

    VARANE ‘CLASS ACT’
Manchester United icon Paddy Crerand has praised incoming signing Raphael Varane.
The Red Devils have agreed a deal with Real Madrid for the defender and his move to Manchester is expected to be finalised shortly.
Crerand, who played for United between 1963 and 1971, said: “He’s a class act.
“He played in the 2018 World Cup for France and stood out. He’s a totally class act.
“I don’t think there are many top central defenders anywhere. He reminds of Rio Ferdinand actually – that’s how good he is.
“He’s excellent with the ball at his feet and he makes everything look easy, exactly the same as Rio.
“That’s because they’re terrific players. They make things look easy. They can read the game well.
“I think he’ll be a great signing for United and at a great age as well; he’s been there and done it.”
    HE’S AL-WHITE
Arsenal star Bukayo Saka helped Mikel Arteta decide to sign Ben White this summer.
The Spaniard made White his top defensive target after Sevilla ace Jules Kounde made it clear he wasn’t interested in joining the Gunners.
Before sanctioning a move, however, Arteta sought out Saka’s opinion on White after training with him on England duty at Euro 2020.
And according to The Athletic, the winger’s feedback was ‘overwhelmingly positive’ – so the Gunners decided to press ahead with a deal.

    XEK OF A STRIKE

    NOT VERY FRIEND-LY
Referee Kevin Friend got a cheer out of Aston Villa fans yesterday… by BOOKING them.
The whistler was taking charge of Villa’s pre-season friendly trip to Bristol City.
And with the Premier League side’s travelling fans in playful mood, they started giving Friend some lighthearted stick.
With Villa set to take a free-kick, the fans started singing ‘You’re just a s*** Mike Dean’ at Friend.
They then followed up this chant by singing ‘Kevin, give us a wave’ at the experienced official.
And much to their amusement, instead of a wave, they got a yellow card.
Ref Kevin Friend gives crowd yellow card after they chant ‘you’re just a s*** Mike Dean’
    XHAK OFF
Mikel Arteta insists that Granit Xhaka is staying at Arsenal after talks over a move to Jose Mourinho’s Roma collapsed.
The 28-year-old Swiss international captain had his heart set on a move to Serie A after five years at the Emirates.
But Arteta said: “Granit is going to stay with us. He is a key member of our squad and a player that we rate and value so much.
“He only trained for two days but still wanted to play in this game and I think that is a very clear commitment from him that he wants to be here.”
    WHAT ZIYECH?!
Hakim Ziyech had a moment to forget for Chelsea today, as he failed to convert an open goal against Arsenal.
But Gunners fans are full of praise for new £50million defender Ben White for getting back to clear.

    LEAVING THE PACK
Tottenham are interested in signing Wolves star Adama Traore, according to reports.
New boss Nuno Espirito Santo likes the winger, having worked with him for three seasons at Molineux.
Traore, 25, is expected to be on the way out of the Midlands club this summer, as chiefs look to cash in with the Spaniard’s contract lasting just two more years.
Leeds United, Chelsea and Liverpool have also been credited with an interest in his services.
But Spurs’ Nuno factor could give them an edge.
Although, according to the Mail, Wolves are expected to ask for a similar £45million fee that they received from Liverpool for Diogo Jota last summer.
Traore has impressed Spurs first hand in the past, scoring a brilliant goal against them in a December 2019 defeat.
    OVER THE ‘HILL
Gary Cahill has confirmed his exit from Crystal Palace after two seasons with the Premier League club.
Writing on Twitter, Cahill said: “After much thought and deliberation, I can confirm that I have left Crystal Palace after an enjoyable two years.
“I have really enjoyed my time at the club and I want to extend my sincere thanks to everyone involved at the club, especially the fans and staff who welcomed me into their South London family.
“It’s been a privilege to play at Selhurst Park, especially in that first season where I got to experience the atmosphere that the Eagles fans create on a match day.
“Playing in front of the Holmesdale Road stand is a memory that I will cherish in particular.
“I would like to wish the club all the best for the future and wish them every success for the coming season.”

    OVER AND OUT
Andriy Shevchenko has announced his tenure as manager of Ukraine has come to an end.
The former Chelsea and AC Milan striker, 44, confirmed his resignation in a post on Twitter.
Shevchenko said: “Today, my contract with the Ukrainian Football Association came to the end. I spent five years with the National team.
“It was hard work that proved that we are capable of playing modern football. I am grateful.”

    PRICE SET
Manchester United will reportedly demand a £20million fee for Andreas Pereira.
According to journalist Ekrem Konur, the Red Devils have decided to cash in on the 25-year-old.
The Brazilian Pereira spent last season on loan at Lazio, scoring once in 26 appearances in Rome.
After an initially promising start to life at Old Trafford under Louis van Gaal, Pereira’s career has stalled in Manchester.
And after three loan spells in the last five years, Pereira may finally be permanently on his way out of Old Trafford.
    SWAP DEAL
Manchester City have offered Aston Villa 19-year-old Morgan Rogers plus £90million for Jack Grealish, according to ESPN.
Rogers joined City two years ago from West Brom, and is thought to be highly rated at the club.
The winger spent last season on loat at Lincoln, scoring six times in 25 games for the Imps.
But with City keen to get a deal over the line for Grealish, Pep Guardiola is willing to let Rogers go should it tempt Aston Villa into letting Grealish leave.
    PACK YER BAGS
Tottenham are interested in signing Wolves star Adama Traore, ETIENNE FERMIE reports.
New boss Nuno Espirito Santo likes the winger, having worked with him for three seasons at Molineux.
Traore, 25, is suspected to be on the way out of the Midlands club this summer, as chiefs look to cash in with the Spaniard’s contract possessing just two more years.
Leeds United, Chelsea and Liverpool have also been credited with an interest in his services.
But Spurs’ Nuno factor could give them an edge.
Although, according to the Mail, Wolves are expected to ask for a similar £45m fee that they received from Liverpool for Diogo Jota last summer.

    IN CASE YOU MISSED IT
Tottenham have reportedly agreed terms with Atalanta regarding a deal for Argentinian defender Cristian Romero.
A deal worth £43million plus add-ons has reportedly been agreed, with personal terms set to be negotiated in the coming days.
Spurs are desperate for a replacement centre-back following the sale of Toby Alderweireld and wanted someone in before their season opener against Manchester City in two weeks time.
And now it looks like they’ve got their man with Romero set to travel to England in the next week to sign a deal.

    XHAKA U-TURN
After being strongly linked with a summer switch to Roma, Granit Xhaka will now STAY at Arsenal.
According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano the Swiss midfielder has been offered a new contract that runs until 2025 and includes a pay rise.
It comes after the Gunners rejected a package from Roma worth around £13million for the 28-year-old.
And speaking to talkSPORT after today’s loss to Chelsea, Arteta said:
“Granit Xhaka is going to stay with us. He is a key member of our squad.”

    SIGN EM UP
Wayne Rooney’s Derby County have just SEVEN registered outfield players ahead of their Championship season opener against Huddersfield.
The Rams’ season gets underway in just six days time, but a number of signings are needed if Wayne Rooney wants to get a team out.
The club have been operating under a transfer embargo this summer but Wayne Rooney is confident there will be incomings in the next 48 hours, despite the embargo.
    NEW BOSS
Swansea City have appointed Russell Martin as head coach following the departure of Steve Cooper.
The Swans lost out in the Championship play-off final to Brentford in June, with Steve Cooper and starman Andre Ayew since leaving.
The 35-year-old Martin joins on a three-year deal after Swansea agreed a compensation fee with MK Dons for Martin’s services.

    NO JEROME
Manchester United will not make a move for free agent Jerome Boateng, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.
The 32-year-olds Bayern Munich contract expired this summer, with a number of clubs reportedly interested in his signature.
But Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is said to be happy with his options at centre-back following Raphael Varane’s arrival at Old Trafford.
The quartet of Harry Maguire, Raphael Varane, Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly are thought to be enough for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, with a move for the German international Boateng looking increasingly unlikely.
    ONE OR THE OTHER
Manchester City will end their interest in Harry Kane this summer if they complete the signing of Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish, KEALAN HUGHES reports.
The Citizens have launched a £100million bid to sign the Villa captain, a move which would make him the most expensive British player ever.
Grealish, 25, flew back to the UK this week following a holiday, but is still awaiting the green light from his club to grant a move to City.
If a deal for Grealish does go through City will end their pursuit of Kane, according to the Manchester Evening News.
Pep Guardiola is keen on the England captain but Daniel Levy is refusing to let him go for less than £150m.
And that fee would be too much for City at present, and they would reportedly need to sell players if they want both Grealish and Kane.
    FULL STORY
    TUAN LOAN LATEST
Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe is set to seal a loan move to Aston Villa.
The 23-year-old has been linked with a loan move to Newcastle, but it’s the Villans who are in pole position to snap him up.
Tuanzebe spent 18 months on loan at Villa Park from 2018 to 2019, helping Villa to promotion to the Premier League.
And with the arrival of Raphael Varane to Old Trafford, game time for Tuanzebe is likely to be limited, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer himself expecting Tuanzebe to be loaned out this season.
    KEEPING KARIM
Real Madrid are set to offer starman Karim Benzema a new contract, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.
Benzema has played over 350 games for Real Madrid in La Liga, with Romano reporting that Los Blancos consider Benzema “untouchable.”
The 33-year-old is set to be rewarded with a bumper new deal which will keep him in the Spanish capital for another two years.

Sebastian Vettel, who finished in second has been DISQUALIFIED.
Hamilton has now been moved up to second place behind Ocon.

    LEW JOKING
Johnny Herbert was left red-faced after congratulating Lewis Hamilton on his ‘victory’ in the Hungarian GP – despite the Brit finishing THIRD.
The former F1 driver was conducting the post-race interviews after Esteban Ocon had taken the chequered flag at the Hungaroring.
Herbert turned to Hamilton and said: “What a race!
“The 100th F1 win for you, the ninth race win here in Hungary, history being made by you but a frustrating day as well.”
Having been told about his error, he then corrected himself, saying: “I jumped ahead of myself with that 100th win and ninth obviously here in Hungary.”

    LONG COVID FEARS
Hamilton was visibly struggling on the podium, and Mercedes team doctors confirmed after he was being treated for ‘fatigue and mild dizziness.”
The Brit has since said he fears he is suffering from long Covid, after testing positive with Covid last year.

    HAMILTON ON LONG COVID
Lewis Hamilton fears he is suffering from long Covid after being left dizzy and suffering from exhaustion.
The F1 champ produced a herculean drive to go from last-place to third in a crazy Hungarian GP to regain top spot in the championship.
However, the 36-year-old, who tested positive for Covid 19 and was forced to miss the Sakhir GP in Bahrain last December, is still struggling.
Hamilton was left hunched over on the podium and barely had enough energy to lift up his trophy after a heroic drive, also saw the team’s doctor after crossing the line.
He said: “I just gave it absolutely everything right until that last lap. I am so exhausted afterwards. One of the weirdest experiences I’ve had on the podium.
“I think [the Covid] is lingering there. I remember the effects of when I had it and training has been different ever since then.
“The level of fatigue that you get is different and it’s a real challenge. I’m trying to keep training and preparing as best I can.
“Who knows what it is? Maybe hydration. I don’t know but it was definitely different. I had something similar at Silverstone but this was way worse.
“I was having real dizziness and everything got a bit blurry on the podium. I have been fighting all year to stay healthy and what happened at the end of last year [with the positive covid test] but still it’s a battle.”

    ‘FIGHTING ALL YEAR’
Lewis Hamilton has given an update on his condition in his post-race press-conference.
He said: “I’m OK. I’m had real big dizziness and then got a bit blurry on the podium.
“I’ve been fighting all year really with staying healthy after what happened at the end of last year [when he had Covid].
    “It’s still, it’s a battle.”
Some fans have since suggested that Hamilton may be suffering from Long Covid.

    ‘I’D DO IT AGAIN’
Sebastian Vettel has reportedly been called to the stewards room for wearing a rainbow shirt in support of the LGBT community during the Hungarian national anthem.
And he said of the decision: “I heard it’s because I left a shirt on for the national anthem…They can do what they want to me, I don’t care. I’d do it again.”
Vettel was protesting against a proposed law in Hungary to ban the teaching of homosexuality to under-18s.

    VAL GUY
Valtteri Bottas accepted criticism coming his way after crashing into Lando Norris.
He said: “I think it’s fair enough. I had a bad start and I got a wheelspin off the line, so I lost the momentum.
“Lando got ahead of me and I was right behind him breaking into turn one and I think I misjudged the breaking point.
“I wasn’t expecting to lock the wheels and they breaked quite early but I was behind so in the end I was responsible for hitting Lando and that resulted in other people going off.
“What can I do? What can I say? I was behind and I locked the wheels and that’s it. It’s not like I did it on purpose.”

    CHRIS-IS, WHAT CRISIS?
Christian Horner joked about Toto Wolff’s apology to him: “Is he going to pay the bill?
But he then added: “It’s racing. Toto wasn’t driving the car. I’m sure he didn’t tell them ‘crash into Red Bull’.
“I’m sure he wasn’t that sorry to see the result but I’m sure he didn’t tell Valtteri to do that.
“The consequence for us is brutal. In a cost cap environment that needs looking at. It needs looking at by the FIA.
“We’ve had six Grand Prix victories. The races we’ve lost were a tire explosion, we were taken out at Silverstone and this race this weekend.
“So I think we’ve got a lot to be positive about and the whole team is fully motivated.
“It’s all to play for. I think it’s going to be epic the second half of this year and we’re not giving up anything.
    IN NEED OF A BREAK
Lewis Hamilton has been taken to the team medical centre after suffering from fatigue and dizziness.
The Brit looked out of sorts and dehydrated on the podium and it has been revealed that he had no water in his car throughout the race.
Fortunately he will have a three week break to refresh after today.
Mercedes says “Lewis is currently with the team doctor suffering from fatigue and mild dizziness” – could see he wasn’t right on the podium #F1 #HungarianGP— Chris Medland (@ChrisMedlandF1) August 1, 2021

    BULL-ISH MOOD
Christian Horner struck a more conciliatory tone after his outburst against McLaren after the British Grand Prix.
He said of Bottas’ crash into Max Verstappen: “Valtteri obviously made a bad start. It looked like he misjudged his breaking point at the first corner.
“It’s sort of a karting error where they try to take too much back and unfortunately the result for us. He eliminated both of our cars.
“The cost of the damage – it looks like an engine on Sergio’s car. For Max, the mechanics worked wonders to even get the car running.
“He’s run with half a car. The entire right hand side of the barge board was missing. He probably had less downforce than Mick Schumacher today.
“Max fought for that one point and in the end it could prove vital.”
    HOLD THE LINE
Toto Wolff has defended his team’s decision to start Lewis Hamilton alone on intermediates while every other driver pitted and changed to slicks after the red flag.
He said: “I think we did absolutely the right thing. There is nobody in the team who would have done otherwise.
“As a leading car it is always difficult to take the decision and if you’re the only one pitting then you come out last and there is the difficulty of getting out of the pit stand because everybody is pitting.
“How it looked like, we were a little bit lonely there on the grid and obviously it played against us.”
    WOLFF NOT AT THE DOOR
Toto Wolff has said he will not be speaking to Christian Horner in person about Valtteri Bottas’ crash into both Red Bull drivers on the opening lap.
When asked if he would apologise directly to Red Bull, he said: “I will do it in public like I am doing it here, with you.
    “I’m sorry for that.”
    ‘COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND’
Toto Wolff has apologised to Red Bull after Valtteri Bottas crashed into both Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen.
He said: “I completely understand the feelings. All I can do is to take it on us.
“It was a small mistake being too late on the race and took out Lando and the two Red Bulls.
“It’s not how things should go but in the rain it can be quite tricky.
“It was a small mistake that cost them a lot of points and possibly two places on the podium, so sorry for that.”

    MAX-ED OUT
Max Verstappen was fuming after being crashed into by a Mercedes on the opening lap for the second race running.
This time it was Valtteri Bottas, who took out both the Dutchman and his Red Bull team-mate Sergio Perez.
Verstappen said: “Again taken out by a Mercedes, so that’s not what you want.
“From there onwards I was missing my whole side of the car, and the floor was damaged as well.
“It was almost impossible to drive to be honest.
“I still tried my very best and I scored one point, so it’s at least something but it’s not what you want.”
    TEAM EFFORT
Fernando Alonso is heaping pressure on the whole Alpine team after Esteban Ocon won the Hungarian Grand Prix and he finished fifth.
Alonso said: “I am super super happy. Not just for Esteban because it’s a day he will never forget, but for the guys.
“They are working flat out and the results are not easy to come.
“You know we are in a very very tough and competitive environment in Formula One and to have these kind of results is a motivation for everybody.”
    LEW BLEW IT
Fernando Alonso offered a scathing assessment of Lewis Hamilton’s drive after he held the Mercedes off for eight laps.
The Brit’s former McLaren team-mate said: “I think Lewis was making small mistakes in the last two corners, that’s my honest opinion.
“He had so much pace and you cannot take eight laps to pass with that kind of pace advantage.
“And in fact, after changing a few lines, he could pass Carlos [Sainz] immediately. One lap after.
“It was not difficult to pass in my opinion, but he took four or five laps to figure it out.”

    CALL A VET
A lovely gesture from Sebastian Vettel as he calls on Alpine team principal Laurent de Rossi onto the podium for the photos.

    HAMILTON LEADS THE CHAMPIONSHIP
He said: “Yeah, we came in this weekend not knowing how it would go.

    BIG HUGS
Esteban Ocon is greeted by some ecstatic team staff, and a lovely hand shake from Sebastian Vettel.

Arsenal vs Chelsea LIVE: Joe Willock DENIED goal with no VAR, Ben White makes debut – Stream, TV channel

ARSENAL will look to give some new signings a runout as they take on Champions League winners Chelsea at the Emirates.Ben White, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Nuno Tavares all start on the bench for the Gunners.
Chelsea, meanwhile, have signed Marcus Bettinelli from Fulham but are waiting on a few of their Euro 2020 stars to return to training.
The game is part of The Mind Series, which Tottenham are also involved in.

    TV channel: Arsenal TV
Live stream: Arsenal TV (£4)/Fifth Stand app (£7.99)
Arsenal XI: Leno, Chambers, Holding, Mari, Tierney, Elneny, Partey, Smith Rowe, Pepe, Aubameyang, Lacazette
Chelsea XI: Mendy; Zouma, Chalobah, Rudiger; Pulisic, Kovacic, Loftus-Cheek, Hudson-Odoi; Havertz, Ziyech, Werner.

    PEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!
    FULL-TIME.
    ARSENAL 1-2 CHELSEA
Andre Marriner blows his whistle to put an end to proceedings here at the Emirates after Chelsea came out on top 2-1 after a thoroughly entertaining match.
    ARSENAL 1-2 CHELSEA
    93. Barkley does well to drive into the Arsenal half and finds Zappacosta, who puts a decent ball in the box and a shot from Batshuayi goes well over the bar.
    ARSENAL 1-2 CHELSEA
    90. Three minutes of added time.
Chelsea on the attack in the final moments here and Batshuayi almost makes it three, but his shot was blocked and Arsenal’s clearance doesn’t go far.
    Chelsea come again…
    ARSENAL 1-2 CHELSEA
    89. CHANCE! Aubameyang finds himself one on one thanks to some intelligent attacking play from Nketiah, who has been excellent since coming on.
Aubameyang’s effort is well saved by Kepa, who gambled and got it right. More frustration for Arsenal.
    ARSENAL 1-2 CHELSEA
    87. CHANCE! Abraham is again one on one after a long-ball caught out the Arsenal back line, but his eventual effort is tame at best and he’ll be very disappointed not to do better there.
Leno did well to stand his ground and make himself big, but a striker with a point to prove such as Abraham should be finding the back of the net there.
    ARSENAL 1-2 CHELSEA
    86. The replays show that Willock’s effort from a few minutes ago definitely went over the line. Where’s VAR when you need it?
    CHELSEA SUBSTITUTION:
    OFF: Trevoh Chalobah.
    ON: Jake Clarke-Salter.
    ARSENAL 1-2 CHELSEA
    85. YELLOW CARD! Nuno Tavares is booked for a foul on the right-hand side.
Barkley takes the free-kick but it’s headed out for a Chelsea corner.
    ARSENAL 1-2 CHELSEA
    84. CHANCE! Another sensational corner delivery from Pepe, whose set-pieces have been flawless today.
There’s a goalmouth scramble and Chelsea just about manage to get the ball out of the danger zone.
    ARSENAL 1-2 CHELSEA
    82. CHANCE! Abraham breaks free in the area after another bad decision from Leno and instead of having a go, he tries to find Batshuayi, but it’s blocked and cleared.
He HAS to have a go there. Poor from Abraham.
    ARSENAL 1-2 CHELSEA
    80. CHANCE! My word. Pepe does fantastically on the right for Arsenal, who finds Willock inside the box.
Willock thumps it from close range and it cannons of the bar and bounces ON THE LINE.
It looks like the ball actually may have bounced over the line, but it happened so quickly and immediately bounced back out.
Harsh on Willock as it was a superb effort and Pepe had done really well to create it.
Arsenal will feel hard done by not to be on level terms there.
    ARSENAL 1-2 CHELSEA
    79. Lokonga, Tavares and Nketiah combining very well on the left for Arsenal, showing a lot of energy and a surprising sharpness, but nothing comes of it this time.
Arsenal on the ascension at the Emirates…
    ARSENAL 1-2 CHELSEA
    77. CHANCE! Nuno Tavares does extremely well on the left-hand side and puts an excellent ball in for Aubameyang, who just can’t make the right connection with it as it goes wide.
It was a wonderful chance and he knows it. A player of his calibre has to be burying that.
    ARSENAL 1-2 CHELSEA
    75. After two goals in quick succession and a host of Arsenal substitutes, the game has really opened up.
Arsenal driving forward on the right hand side and Dujon Sterling makes a tough tackle but goes unpunished.
Arsenal causing problems going forward, but still leaky at the back.
    ARSENAL 1-2 CHELSEA
    ARSENAL SUBSTITUTIONS:
OFF: Pablo Mari, Kieran Tierney, Mohamed Elneny, Alexandre Lacazette, Calum Chambers, Emile Smith-Rowe.
ON: Nuno Tavares, Joe Willock, Hector Bellerin, Eddie Nketiah, Albert Lokonga, Sead Kolasinac.
    GOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLL!!!!!!
    ARSENAL 1-2 CHELSEA
Tammy Abraham fires home following ANOTHER Arsenal error at the back.
The Gunners were caught in possession once more and when the ball lands to Tammy Abraham, he doesn’t disappoint as his finish finds the bottom corner to restore Chelsea’s lead.
    Two-one Chelsea!
    GOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!
    ARSENAL 1-1 CHELSEA
Another wonderful delivery from Pepe, who AGAIN finds Xhaka on the edge of the six yard box and this time he buries his header in the bottom corner.
All square in the second half and Arsenal are about to make a host of changes.
    One-all!
    ARSENAL 0-1 CHELSEA
    67. CHANCE! This time it’s Chelsea who are caught in possession as Pepe does superbly to win the ball back in the opposition half and he bursts into the box.
He’s almost one on one but Dujon Sterling makes a fantastic last ditch challenge and the ball goes out for a corner.
Pepe then takes the corner, which is excellent, but Xhaka’s header goes over.
    ARSENAL 0-1 CHELSEA
    65. CHANCE! Arsenal try to play out from the back but Leno’s pass to Xhaka is intercepted and Barkley again finds himself with the ball in the box, but his shot doesn’t have enough on it and it comes to nothing.
Tuchel will expect more from his substitutes, who have had two great chances since coming on.
    ARSENAL 0-1 CHELSEA
    64. CHANCE! It’s poor from Chelsea as the new subs combine to create a wonderful opportunity but Barkley completely misses it and it’s then fired well over the bar after Batshuayi had done well to break on the right.
    ARSENAL 0-1 CHELSEA
    CHELSEA SUBSTITUTIONS:
    OFF: Loftus-Cheek, Mendy, Pulisic, Ziyech.
    ON: Barkley, Batshuayi, Kepa, Kante.
    ARSENAL 0-1 CHELSEA
    60. The sun is out now in North London and the players squint as a Chelsea corner comes in from the right.
Leno does extremely well to collect it but when he tries to distribute it he gets it all wrong.
Frustration for Arsenal as they’re not able to catch Chelsea on the break, who had men committed forward.
    ARSENAL 0-1 CHELSEA
    56. Chelsea win the ball back on the half-way line and seek to break down the left-hand side with Ziyech taking on several Arsenal defenders.
Arsenal stand firm and the ball ends up with Loftus-Cheek, who loses possession and Arsenal can break.
It’s end to end at the minute and there’s bound to be more goals if it carries on like this.
    ARSENAL 0-1 CHELSEA
    54. Arsenal win a free-kick on the edge of the Chelsea box and Lacazette’s strike is blocked for a corner.
Nothing ultimately comes of it but Arsenal are starting to show the kind of attacking intent that Mikel Arteta would have asked for at half time.
    ARSENAL 0-1 CHELSEA
    51. CHANCE! Ziyech makes a superb run and does phenomenally to spring Arsenal’s offside trap.
He was one on one and tried to take on Leno, which he did extremely well, but over complicates it and White gets back in time to make the block.
Ziyech can’t believe he hasn’t scored and neither can his manager.
    ARSENAL 0-1 CHELSEA
    49. An extremely exciting start to the second half.
A chance for each side so far with Christian Pulisic managing to get a shot off for Chelsea and Arsenal also forcing a save out of Mendy.
The changes seem to have increased the urgency in the game, with Xhaka going in hard on Zappacosta in trademark fashion.
This doesn’t feel much like a friendly game.

F1 Hungarian Grand Prix LIVE RESULTS: Ocon WINS ahead of Vettel as Hamilton is held up by Alonso to finish third

LEWIS HAMILTON has fallen just short in his bid to win the Hungarian Grand Prix from last place. The Brit ended up in third after being held up by a stubborn Fernando Alonso for eight long laps.
Hamilton started alone on intermediates after Valtteri Bottas took out Lando Norris and two Red Bulls to get the race red flagged.
And that decision cost him dear as he was forced all the way to the back of the grid, with every other driver on slicks.
Esteban Ocon took his first ever chequered flag after heroically holding off second placed Sebastian Vettel.
Stay up to date with all the action from Hungaroring in our live blog…

    IT’S A MARATHON
Literally! The top two are both having to RUN to the podium after running out of fuel on track.
    OCON MISSES HIS MARK
Esteban Ocon apparently does not know where the winner’s spot in the pit lane is, and stops on track!
So do Sebastian Vettel and George Russell, evidently out of fuel…
    WILLIAMS BAG SIX POINTS
    SIX!
George Russell holds of Max Verstappen on the last lap to finish ninth, with Nicholas Latifi eighth.
And Pierre Gasly takes the fastest lap over a late pit stop.
    WHAT A RACE!
That is Esteban Ocon’s first-ever Formula One Grand Prix victory!
Sebastian Vettel takes second before Lewis Hamilton third.
    OCON WINS
A stunning drive, an epic! Esteban Ocon takes the chequered flag!
OCON HAS 1.5 SECONDS ON VETTEL
    Can Alpine start to celebrate?!
    FINAL LAP
Lewis Hamilton has four seconds to make up on the front two, that is probably too much for the Mercedes.
    LEWIS GOES THIRD
Both racers have to go around Daniel Ricciardo to lap the McLaren at Turn 1 but Lewis Hamilton continues his fightback and is on the podium!
    SAINZ IS NEXT
Lewis Hamilton pounces at Turn 2 of Lap 66 but the Ferrari holds onto third.
But his resistance may not last long…
    HAMILTON GETS IT DONE!
Fernando Alonso locks up at Turn 1 and, with five laps to go, Lewis Hamilton goes fourth!
    HAMILTON HELD OFF
Fernando Alonso is doing a stunning job!
Lewis Hamilton looks to have got the job done on Lap 63 but each time, at Turn 2 and 4, the Alpine is in the perfect position to hold onto fourth.
    BOTTAS PENALTY
Stewards have handed Valtteri Bottas a five grid place penalty for the NEXT Grand Prix, at Spa after the summer break.
    A POINT FOR MAX
Max Verstappen makes the move on Daniel Ricciardo, taking tenth place.

    LAP 60/70
It is the Alpines with it all to lose going into the final ten laps of this two-hour epic.
Esteban Ocon has a 1.3-second lead over Sebastian Vettel for the lead, with Fernando Alonso doing a top job of holding Lewis Hamilton in the battle for fourth.
    Max Verstappen? Back in 11th.
    GOOD LUCK WITH THAT, LEWIS…
Lewis Hamilton is finding that Fernando Alonso is basically the Giorgio Chiellini of F1 racing.
Overtaking the two-time world champion is an unenviable task – and the Merc star needs to do it soon or this race win will not be happening.
    ALONSO HOLDS OFF HAMILTON
Proper racing between the two veterans and Fernando Alonso holds off the Mercedes as Lap 55 begins.
In seventh, Yuki Tsunoda complains of dirty air off the back of team-mate Pierre Gasly.
He tells team radio: “Tell Pierre to hurry the f*** up!”
Come on Yuki, you’re three seconds behind…
    SAINZ DROPS BACK
There is now a seven-second gap between Carlos Sainz and the lead, have his tyres gone?
No such worry for Fernando Alonso, on quicker tyres and with the Ferrari right on his front bumper.
The Spaniard will need to do the job soon with Lewis Hamilton only a couple of seconds behind – and closing.
    LAP 50/70
Sebastian Vettel is now having a proper go at Esteban Ocon, with DRS on his back.
Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton asks: “How many cars are you gonna make me overtake?”
The answer his engineer gives is: Four. Toto Wolff jumps in to tell him he ‘can win this’.
    HAMILTON PITS
Lewis Hamilton drops on the Mediums for a fast finish.
In fifth, we could be about to witness a monumental final 22 laps from the seven-time world champion.
Or he could finish fifth, which today would actually be quite decent.

F1 Hungarian Grand Prix LIVE RESULTS: Hamilton ON POLE and is BOOED by crowd, Schumacher crashes – latest updates

LEWIS HAMILTON and Max Verstappen lock horns again after their thunderous clash at the British Grand Prix just two weeks ago.The pair will get into action at the Hungarian Grand Prix with Hamilton starting on pole today.

Hungarian Grand Prix – 2pm BST

Stay up to date with all the action from Hungaroring in our live blog…
FROM BEN HUNT AT THE HUNGARORING
Lewis Hamilton  lapped up the booing mob as he took the 101st pole position of his career.
The world champion’s bitter feud with Red Bull rival Max Verstappen has spilled over into the grandstands at the Hungaroring, with the Dutchman’s orange army backing their driver.
There were banners in the stands; one said “Sir Cheat: Karam is on its way!” as they blame the Brit for taking out their hero at Silverstone.
But Hamilton, who is going in search of his 100th Formula One victory tomorrow, took it on the chin as Verstappen blew his top as tempers boiled over.
Former F1 driver Johnny Herbert tried to quell the boo-boys as he interviewed the pole-sitter, but Hamilton said: “People have a right. This is a sport and people act wildly. It is sport, it is a competition and I don’t take it to heart.
“In the end, I must be doing something right to be up the front!
“I appreciate the great support I’ve had here. I’ve never actually felt so great with the booing. If anything, it just fuels me. So I don’t really mind.”
    HAMILTON ON POLE
Lewis Hamilton will start from pole for the Hungary Grand Prix after topping qualifying.
    Rival Max Verstappen in third.

THE TOP 10 FOR HUNGARY GP
How the grid will look for tomorrow’s race:

    Hamilton
    Bottas
    Verstappen
    Perez
    Gasly
    Norris
    Leclerc
    Ocon
    Alonso
    Vettel

LEWIS HAMILTON TAKES POLE FOR THE HUNGARIAN GP
The Mercedes man is unable to better his time and it remains Hamilton, Bottas and Verstappen.
    HERE WE GO THEN…
But we have a slow train of cars and Hamilton just crosses the line in time for a second crack.
MAX HAS MORE IN THR TANK
Verstappen to his team: “I don’t know why but I just had a lack of grip on this set.”
WOAH – HAMILTON FINDS A STONKING LAP
The stands go silent as the Brit goes quickest on his first attempt with a time 0.550 seconds quicker than the Red Bull man.
It is Hamilton on provisional pole, then Bottas, then Verstappen.
    Five minutes to go….

    FINAL QUALIFYING SESSION
Max versus Lewis. Who is your money on?

    MORE PAIN FOR RICCIARDO
The Aussie is booted out in Q2. He qualified in 11th place and struggling.
To make matters worse for him, he’s seen teammate Norris reach P2 in Q2.

GREEN LIGHT – Q2 SESSION HAS RESUMED
There are six minutes left and it is Hamilton, Leclerc and Verstappen at the top.
In the dropzone are Giovinazzi, Sainz (who is out), Raikkonen, Stroll and Norris.

RED FLAG – SESSION STOPPED – SAINZ HAS CRASHED
The Spaniard was on a flying and lost control at the final corner, sliding sideways into the barriers.
He is fine but his Ferraris is broken. He is out of qualifying.

    NOW IT IS HAMILTON’S TURN
The Brit is now topping the timesheets in a game of cat-and-mouse. This is good stuff.
GREEN LIGHT AGAIN AND INTO Q2
Who will make the cut for the top-10 shootout?

    TEMPERATURES RISING
Not just the battel between Hamilton and Verstappen. The track temperature has climbed to 62.3 degrees. I am not too sure I can remember when they have been hotter.
    RUSSELL IS OUT
The Brit fails to escape Q1 and he is eliminated. The Williams man is out along with Schumacher, Mazepin, Latifi and Tsunoda.
That is disappointing for Russell, who is still yet to score the team’s first points.
    VERSTAPPEN LOOKING COMFORTABLE
The Red Bull man leads the way.

    FIRST RUNS DONE IN Q1
And Verstappen heads the field from Hamilton.
In the dropzone are Schumacher, who crashed out in last practice and likely to miss out, Mazepin, Latifi, Russell and Tsunoda.

GREEN LIGHT – QUALIFYING IS GO
Qualifying for the Hungarian GP is underway at the Hungaroring. Hamilton vrs Verstappen vrs Bottas.

    QUICK SUMMARY
Lewis Hamilton kept Mercedes at the top of the timesheets, pipping Red Bull championship rival Max Verstappen in Saturday’s final practice session for the Hungarian Formula One Grand Prix.
The Briton, who trails Verstappen by eight points in the overall standings, lapped the 4.3-kilometer long Hungaroring in one minute, 16.826 seconds, beating the Dutchman by just 0.088 seconds.
Valtteri Bottas, who knocked Verstappen off the top of the timesheets to set the pace on Friday’s opening day of practice, was third in the other Mercedes, 0.229 seconds off his team mate’s benchmark.
The final session of practice, once again run in sweltering heat with track temperatures climbing above 50 degrees Celsius, set up a thrilling battle qualifying between the two title protagonists, with Verstappen gunning for his fifth successive pole and Hamilton his first in six races.
Tensions between the pair are high heading into the weekend after they collided at the last race in Britain, which resulted in a heavy crash for Verstappen with Hamilton overcoming a 10-second time penalty to win.
Spaniard Carlos Sainz, the power unit in his Ferrari changed overnight, was fourth ahead of team mate Charles Leclerc.
Briton Lando Norris was sixth for McLaren ahead of Verstappen’s team mate Sergio Perez.
    SETTING THE PACE
Here is how the cars were during practice 3.

Not a bad day in Hungary as Lewis Hamilton stretches his car.

FINAL PRACTICE – HAMILTON TOPS THE SESSION
The world champion sets the quickest time, but it is incredibly close to Verstappen, who is just 0.088 seconds behind him.
Bottas in P3 means this is going to be a really close call for pole position. Qualifying at 2pm UK time.
    SESSION HAS RESTARTED
While Schumacher is assessed by the medics, the final practice resumes. There is a near miss in the pitlane as Lance Stroll clips an Alfa Romeo.
And out on track Pierre Gasly also had a close one with an Alfa.

    BIG CRASH FOR SCHUMACHER
The German has a high-speed accident and sent spinning into the barrier. He is winded but ok and sent to the medical centre for precautionary checks.

    A LOOK AT LAPTIMES
Bottas continues to show his pace. He is in P1, Verstappen in P2 and Hamilton in P3.
I said it yesterday, but this is going to be a close fight for pole position.

    CHERRY ON THE CAKE
The Bournemouth man is now the European and British cruiserweight champion as well as the Commonwealth.
Great night for the Shane McGuigan gym that has niotched wins for Anthony Fowwler and CBS.
But a really hard to swallow result for Tommy McCarthy…

    CHRIS BILLHAM-SMITH WINS SD
The judges had a tough job splitting those two tough and skilled men and called it
The cards read: 115-114 McCarthy, 115-114 CBS and 116-112 to CBS.
CBS is overjoyed, almost crying in the ring…
    ROUND TWELVE
CBS is rocked by another right hook from the clinch but the Bournemouth man is so strong.
McCarthy lands some crisp shots on the ropes and CBS covers up.
The bell goes and McCarthy’s fans think their man has done enough.
The two brilliant fighters hug and both trainers lift their brave charges aloft.
    A brilliant contest…
    ROUND ELEVEN
McCarthy scores with a couple of counters.
CBS walks onto to a piledriver of a right hook but he does not fold, somehow.
The pair almost bundle out of the ring together when they wrestle too close to the ropes.
These fellas are giving the fans everything…
    ROUND TEN
McCarthy scores with a right hand but he admires it too long and CBS pings him with a double jab.
McCarthy now has a gash on the left cheek, well below the eye but definitely painful.
CBS is bullying his way back into the championship rounds.Massive six minutes coming up for these brave young men…
    ROUND NINE
McCarthy scores with a little left hook but CBS is rock hard.
A looping right hook sends CBS back into the ropes but he bounces back out into the action.
CBS smiles as the bell goes to end the round, he does not seem hurt but is he getting hit too much?
McCarthy seems to have more in the tank…
    ROUND EIGHT
CBS, the more muscley man, appears to be tiring in the final straight.
But he lands a peach of a left hook that stiffens McCarthy briefly.
Both men look set to go the distance now but whose style will the judges prefer?

    ROUND SEVEN
CBS lands a crisp one-two but McCarthy handles it.
The blood is pouring away from the corner of the Irishman’s right eye spo he should be OK.
McCarthy land an uppercut and right hand.
But CBS whacks back in the centre of the Essex ring.
McCarthy drops his hands at the end of the session and misses with a whild left hand that CBS ducks.
    ROUND SIX
McCarthy lands a looping right hand but CBS ignores it.
CBS eats a check right hook when McCarthy lures him on to it.
But just as the round ends McCarthy is badly cut over his right eye.
If the blood starts pouring into his eye he will struggle to see.

    ROUND FIVE
CBS has McCarthy hurt with a thudding right hook.
McCarthy is backed onto the ropes and battered but he pokes his tongue out into the crowed to ease his fans’ panic.
McCarthy looks spark out on his feet but CBS will not rush in.
The bell goes with McCarthy recovering from a real one-sided round.
Will CBS regret not pouring on the pressure when his man was buzzed?

    LAP IT UP
Aymeric Laporte wants to leave Manchester City this summer, according to reports.
The Spain international fell behind John Stones and Ruben Dias in the pecking order at the Etihad last season.
And according to Duncan Castles on the Transfer Window Podcast, he is now ‘unhappy’ at the club.
He also revealed that Barcelona have shown an interest, but would struggle to afford a deal this summer.
And that Laporte is ‘pushing’ City to facilitate his exit.
Castles then added that the defender is ‘kicking up enough of a fuss’ to ‘pressure the club into finding a solution’.
Aymeric Laporte is reportedly unhappy with his role at Man City
    SE YOU LATER
Arsenal outcast Sead Kolasinac is reportedly in negotiations to terminate his deal with the club.
The Bosnian left-back, 28, is deemed to be surplus to requirements at the Emirates, after the signing of Portuguese defender Nuno Tavares.
And that’s led to both parties discussing the possibility of tearing up Kolasinac’s £100,000-per-week contract, according to Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur.
If that can be agreed, Konur believes it’s likely he will sign for Fenerbahce on a free transfer.
Moving to the Turkish giants would mean Kolasiniac is reunited with pal Mesut Ozil.
The international full-back was sent on loan to Schalke for the second half of last season.
    DONE DEAL
Aston Villa have reached a deal with Bayer Leverkusen to sign Leon Bailey.
Bailey is set to discuss personal terms with Villa and undergo a medical with the Premier League club.
This could work as a boost for Manchester City, who are looking to sign Jack Grealish.
Reports suggest the Villans are set to accept City’s £100million bid for Grealish

    SPURS HIJACK
Tottenham are reportedly set to hijack Inter Milan star Lautaro Martinez, who has been linked with Arsenal.
According to Metro, the north London rivals are keeping tabs on Lautaro, who is open to leaving Inter this summer.
But the Gunners may remain in the drivers’ seat if they raise the necessary funds from a probable sale of Alexandre Lacazette and Granit Xhaka.
But Spurs could make a higher profit if they sell wantaway star striker Harry Kane, who has been linked with a move to Manchester City and Chelsea
    GETTY IMAGES
    RAPH RIDE
Incoming Manchester United signing Raphael Varane hopes to travel to Manchester this weekend to complete his move at the Red Devils.
According to Manchester Evening News, Varane may fly to Manchester today but he first needs to obtain a visa before he can travel to England.
The France international will have to quarantine following his landing and will then undergo a medical to complete his £43million move.
The star defender bade farewell to former Real Madrid team-mates and staff on Friday
    AC-IM’S FUTURE
Chelsea star Hakim Ziyech is still being linked with a move to AC Milan.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Ziyech is Milan’s top priority in the summer transfer window.
However, landing the winger won’t be easy for the Rossoneri, who are still looking for a playmaker.
The Morocco international’s current salary will be a stumbling block as he is being paid €5million (£4m) per season
    KOUNDE ASKING PRICE
Sevilla star Jules Kounde will cost Chelsea €80million (£68m) to sign him.
That is according to Mundo Deportivo, who claim a swap deal is unlikely.
That is because Kurt Zouma is not willing to go the other way and thus the Blues will have to meet Kounde’s release clause.
The west Londoners appear to have the necessary funds but would prefer a compromise
    KOUNDE HOPE
Chelsea have agreed personal terms with Sevilla star Jules Kounde.
That is according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who claims Kounde is now the Blues’ top priority.
The west Londoners have offered Kurt Zouma in a potential swap deal.
But the reigning European champions will insist even if the Andalusians are not keen on Zouma
Chelsea are working to find a solution with Sevilla as soon as possible to sign Jules Koundé. He’s the priority after personal terms agreed, and Chelsea want him to join. 🔵 #CFCKurt Zouma still discussed in the deal, but Chelsea want go through also if Zouma won’t be included.— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) July 31, 2021

    NU COACH
Tottenham are looking to hire a new first team strength and conditioning coach.
According to Football London, new Spurs manager Nuno Espirito Santo needs someone to help work on the players’ fitness and health.
This comes as no surprise as Nuno was known to have a very large backroom staff at Wolves.
The Portuguese manager is known for his teams’ high level of fitness and the double sessions he puts on most days throughout pre-season
    MORE FROM WHITE
Ben White is determined to help Arsenal return to the top of the Premier League.
White said: “Arsenal speaks for itself and I spoke to the gaffer a number of times during the summer.
“I got good vibes and the way the gaffer wants to play.
“I think I can produce quality in this team and hopefully get Arsenal back.”
    VARANE FAREWELL
Raphael Varane has confirmed he is leaving the Spanish capital ahead of his imminent transfer to Manchester United with the following farewell message to Real Madrid fans.
Varane posted the following on his Instagram: “These last few days have been charged with many emotions, feelings that I now want to share with all of you.
“After 10 incredible and wonderful years at Real Madrid, a club that I will always carry in my heart, the day has come to say goodbye.
“Since I arrived in 2011, together we have exceeded all expectations and achieved things that I could never have dreamed of. I would like to thank all the coaches and all the people who work or have worked at the club for everything they have done for me.
“Many thanks also to all the Madridistas who always gave me a lot of affection and with their great demand they pushed me to give my best and fight for every success.
“I have had the honour of sharing a dressing room with the best players in the world. Countless victories that I will never forget, especially ‘La Décima’. I realise that it has been a great privilege to have been able to experience such special moments.
“Finally, I want to thank all Spaniards and especially to the city of Madrid, where my two children were born. This country will always be special to me. It has been an incredible journey in every way. I leave with the feeling of having given everything and I will not change a single thing in this story of ours.
    “A new chapter begins…”

    POGBA BOOST
Recent reports have stated that Paul Pogba rejected a new deal from Manchester United.
But Sky Sports suggest that Pogba can see a long-term future at United after all.
The midfielder is reportedly excited with the direction the club is going in, following Jadon Sancho’s arrival and Raphael Varane’s imminent transfer.
But the France international understands his next contract could be the last big one of his career
    LAUTARO SITUATION
Arsenal target Lautaro Martinez will be available for a transfer ONLY if Inter Milan receive his release clause of £77million, according to transfer expert Peter O’Rourke.
O’Rourke told The Football Terrace: “It seems really serious interest from Arsenal in the Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez.
“Arsenal really seem to be trying to push for this deal to see if there’s any way to make it happen.
“His price tag is pretty steep. You’re talking around £77m that Inter would want to sell the South American.
“That hasn’t really deterred Arsenal so far, they’re just trying to come up with inventive ways they could come to an agreement with Inter Milan and they think the ace up their sleeve is Hector Bellerin”
    GREAL BOOST
Aston Villa are expected to accept Manchester City’s £100million bid for Jack Grealish.
According to Sky Sports, Villa have yet to formally respond to City’s offer, which was made on Friday, but are set to give the green light.
It means Grealish could become the biggest transfer in English football history after Paul Pogba’s £89m move to Manchester United in 2016.
Villa did offer the forward a new and improved contract earlier this summer, despite him only signing a five-year deal last September
    WHITE REACTION
Arsenal signing Ben White revealed he had to keep his deal with the Gunners under wraps.
White said: “Obviously I’ve known for quite a while and it’s taken longer than I thought it would, but I’m buzzing to be here.
“It’s been hard to not tell anyone to be fair. I told my family to keep it quiet.
“Even when I was on holiday I was getting asked whether I am or not. It was tough but I managed to keep it”
    TRIPPIER UPDATE
Atletico Madrid are not keen on letting Kieran Trippier go and thus won’t be doing Manchester United any favours regarding his asking price.
That is according to Sport, who claim Atletico are determined to hold on to Trippier.
But the England international’s ‘enthusiasm’ to return to the Premier League could ‘tip the balance’ and persuade the La Liga champions to sell him.
Nevertheless, if the full-back does indeed move he won’t be joining the Red Devils until the closing stages of the transfer window
    GETTY IMAGES
    LUK OUT
Inter Milan CEO Beppe Marotta has said that Romelu Lukaku is not for sale this summer.
However, that hasn’t stopped Chelsea in their bid to re-sign their former striker.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, though, Lukaku has snubbed a move back to the Blues.
The Belgium international is not keen on leaving Inter, who are also determined to hold on to him despite the need to raise funds after the coronavirus pandemic’s financial impact
    MESSI DEAL
Lionel Messi is back in Spain after agreeing to extend his stay at Barcelona.
According to SPORT, Messi is going to put pen to paper on a new five-year deal with Barca by next week.
The legendary forward has agreed to take a 50 per cent pay cut, which means he will be receiving £250,000 per week.
But the Blaugrana will have to make some cuts to balance their books and meet LaLiga’s strict salary cap
    KOUNDE RECAP
Chelsea are locked in negotiations with Sevilla for star defender Jules Kounde.
Kounde has been viewed as one of the most talented young centre-backs of his era having performed consistently at a high level in Spain and in European competitions.
Manchester United, Manchester City and Tottenham were in the hunt for the 22-year-old’s signature but now it is the Blues who are keen to bring him to Stamford Brdige.
The only problem is Sevilla’s high asking price of €70million (£59.5m).
According to the Athletic, however, the west Londoners are willing to not only throw Kurt Zouma in the deal but also forgotten man Emerson Palmieri
    LAUTARO ENQUIRY
Arsenal have enquired about Inter Milan star striker Lautaro Martinez while speaking to the Italian champions regarding Hector Bellerin.
Bellerin has been linked with a move away from the Emirates and Inter see him as a probable replacement for Achraf Hakimi.
According to The Athletic, the Gunners also mentioned Alexandre Lacazette but the Serie A giants need cash in order to help them maintain Romelu Lukaku.
    More below:
In speaking with Inter Milan about Bellerin, Arsenal enquired on Lautaro Martinez. 23yo striker (contract 2023) is for sale & #AFC thought to have mentioned Lacazette, but #Inter need cash + hope it helps them keep Chelsea target Lukaku @TheAthleticUK #CFC https://t.co/ldSuW48a0f— David Ornstein (@David_Ornstein) July 31, 2021

    NO KROOS-ING
Real Madrid star Toni Kroos will not be going to Juventus.
That is according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who claims there is “no chance” of Kroos joining Juve.
Meanwhile, former Bianconeri star Miralem Pjanic is leaving Barcelona.
However, Juventus are only focused on sighing Sassuolo’s Manuel Locatelli.
Unlike Pjanic, Sergino Dest will stay at Barca, who have yet to receive an offer from West Ham for Martin Braithwaite

GALLAGHER JOY AT PALACE LOAN MOVE
Conor Gallagher has joined Crystal Palace on loan.
The Chelsea midfielder, 21, signed on the dotted line on Friday amid interest from Leeds and Newcastle.

SunSport understands he rejected the rival interest to head to Selhurst Park as he wanted to be part of Patrick Vieira’s revolution.
It continues the rejuvenation of the Eagles squad under the new boss this summer with older stars such as Andros Townsend and Scott Dann departing and replaced by younger players.
Palace have already boosted their ranks with the signings of Joachim Andersen, Marc Guehi, Michael Olise and back-up keeper Remi Matthews.
Gallagher is a further boost to add some much-needed energy in midfield.
He said: “I’m buzzing to be here. I can’t wait to get started, I’m happy to get the deal over the line.
“I spoke to the manager, I liked what he said, I liked how he wants to play, how he wants me to play and how he wants the team to play.
“I feel like I can learn from him and the players around me.”
RASHFORD COULD BE OUT FOR 3 MONTHS
Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford faces shoulder surgery next week after persuading boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer an operation would be the best solution.

The England star, 23, could then be out until the end of October.
Rashford, 23, decided after the Euros he wanted an op to to go as his shoulder problem has persisted since November.
It’s thought boss Solskjaer was keen to see if rest would resolve the problem.
A United statement said: “Following consultation between Marcus, the manager, club medical staff and specialists, Marcus will undergo surgery imminently to resolve his shoulder injury.
“He will now focus on his rehabilitation in order to return as soon as  possible.”
GERRO TIPPED FOR JUST ONE MORE GERS SEASON
Alan Brazil believes this season will be Steven Gerrard’s last at Rangers.
Scotland legend Brazil reckons defending the title will be enough for the Gers gaffer and he will be off at the end of this campaign.
The talkSPORT host riled Jamie O’Hara too by saying the only thing Celtic have to play for this year is getting CLOSER to Gers.
O’Hara hinted that the Hoops now had nothing to play for this year after Tuesday’s Champions League dumping and not being able to challenge the Light Blues.
Brazil agreed with Gerrard’s former England team-mate Michael Dawson that success at Ibrox will bring interest from other clubs.
And he reckons that will tempt him away next summer.
    CELTIC IN FOR HART
Tottenham have reportedly told Celtic that they can land Joe Hart for £1million.
The Hoops are locked in talks with the Premier League side over a deal for the former England No1.
Parkhead chiefs hoped to land the 34-year-old on a free transfer but the Daily Record reports that Spurs have told them that’s a non-starter.
Instead, Celts will have to fork out a seven figure sum for a player they could have signed for nothing last summer – but opted to splash out £5m on Greek flop Vasilis Barkas.
Man City legend Hart is understood to be earning around £50,000-a-week at Tottenham, despite slipping to third-choice keeper.
He would have to accept a significant pay cut if a deal to Celtic Park is to materalise.
