MANCHESTER CITY and Real Madrid played out one of the games of the season in the Champions League as Pep Guardiola’s men came out on top with a 4-3 win in their semi-final first leg. City went 2-0 up in 10 minutes thanks to goals from Kevin De Bruyne but Karim Benzema pulled one back before the break.
Phil Foden restored City’s two-goal lead but Vinicus pulled it back to just one before Bernardo Silva scored a screamer for City to make it 4-2.
Benzema had the final say again, however, scoring a brilliant panenka penalty to ensure next week’s second leg remained in the balance.

    Karim talks confidence
Karim Benzema gave his thoughts on this evening’s seven goal thriller:
We had hope coming into this one and we fought till the end. We nw need our fans more than ever and have to win the second leg… City are a good team but we lacked a little bit of everything in the game, including confidenceKarim benzema, Real Madrid forward
When asked about his paneka, the Frenchman said: “The penalty was all about confidence. I have a lot of confidence in myself.”
We believe you after that, Karim.
Guardiola: ‘A fantastic game against an incredible team’
It was a fantastic game for both sides. We did many good things, but unfortunately we conceded the goals. We could have scored more. We played a fantastic game against an incredible team. Our build-up was so nervous, but they pressed really well and were strong. We are so proud… We are going to Madrid to try to win the game.Pep Guardiola, Manchester City boss
    A short summary
Just in case you missed it…
Manchester City have edged Real Madrid 4-3 in an enthralling spectacle which truly had everything.
Kevin De Bruyne’s header inside 90 seconds set the tone for Man City to grab another shortly after courtesy of Gabriel Jesus.
Benzema bit back against the run of play with a sharp finish inside Ederson’s near post to deflate City’s excitement before half-time.
Foden looked to put his side back in the ascendency before Vinicius instantly responded with a brilliant solo goal.
Bernardo Silva then fired a screamer past Courtois before the same happened again. Laporte’s arm was the guilty party, and this time it was Benzema, from the spot, in style.
That’s about it really. Oh, and City should have scored about seven more.
    Manchester City ponder missed chances
You could recall several moments where City should have hit the back of the net, but couldn’t quite make it count. I can remember only three or four players in sky blue who didn’t have a clear cut opportunity.
In his post match interview, Phil Foden stated that “we have to take our chances more.”
Beranardo Silva went on to say:
The first 20 minutes were so, so good. Over the 90 minutes it feels we could have won with a btter score. But we were not able to take advantage of our two-goal differences, which we had three times… Our fans should be proud of us. It’s true we could have scored more, but that’s football.Bernardo Silva, Manchester city midfielder
    Who is the ‘Real’ winner?
City will rue missed chances, whilst Real Madrid looked beaten at times.
But the truth is, the spectators were the winners tonight.
We were treated to seven goals, with six or so brilliant in their own unique way.
Which was your favourite? Vinicius’ solo run, Bernardo Silva’s bullet or Karim Benzema’s paneka? Oh what a night.

Brilliant piece of refereeing, an even better strike.
    Now, can City not concede?

Chelsea target Araujo signs new Barca contract
Barcelona centre-back Ronald Araujo has agreed a new four-year contract at the club – with a ONE BILLION EUROS release clause.
The 23-year-old defender had been a target for both Manchester United and Chelsea.
Barcelona confirmed today that they had reached any agreement with the Uruguayan international to extend his stay with the club.
And it looks to be a lengthy one, with his release clause working out at a whopping £850million.
Araujo will officially put pen to paper in a ceremony on the pitch at the Nou Camp on Friday.
The centre-back joins midfielder starlet Pedri in signing a new contract this season with a one billion euros release clause.
    Liverpool ‘make contact’ over Tchouameni
Liverpool have initiated contact with Monaco star and Chelsea target Aurelien Tchouameni ahead of the summer transfer window, reports suggest.
That is according to Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna, who claims that the Reds have approached Tchouameni as manager Jurgen Klopp is looking to strengthen in midfield.
Klopp is reportedly a big fan of the midfielder, who has attracted immense interest following a series of impressive performances in Ligue 1.
The France international is also open to the prospect of playing in the Premier League.
The 22-year-old is keen to leave Monaco in the summer and the club could be willing to strike a deal, even though his contract expires in 2024.

    Jorginho: We’d all miss Rudiger
Chelsea midfielder Jorginho says everyone at the club will miss Antonio Rudiger if the Germany defender’s expected move to Real Madrid happens this summer.
The Italy playmaker told Sky Sports: “He’s been here a long time so if he leaves then we’re going to miss him.
“He’s a big personality and he’s helped us a lot.
“We’ve had amazing times here and he’s a good friend of mine, and if he leaves then everyone at the club will miss him, not just me.”
    Is Gvardiol right for Blues?
Could RB Leipzig prospect Josko Gvardiol be a good option in Chelsea’s defence?
The Blues experts at football.london have taken a closer look at the 20-year-old Croatia centre-back’s credentials and concluded he might be the man to fill their Antonio Rudiger-shaped hole next season.
Their report says: “It’s no wonder why [Thomas] Tuchel is a big fan. His defensive stats this season display why he is rated so highly.
“As per FBRef.com, Gvardiol ranks highly among other Bundesliga defenders when it comes to pressures applied per game with 11.78.
“That is coupled with a few other metrics such as tackles per 90 (2.07), interceptions per 90 (3.34) and successful blocks per 90 (2.07).”
    Can Torres fill Rudiger’s boots?
Chelsea have been linked with a move for Villarreal centre-half Pau Torres.
And with news Blues defender Antonio Rudiger is set to join Real Madrid this summer, it seems certain the Spain star would have to fill the void left by the versatile German in the Blues backline.
The Telegraph says Torres would be the stand-out option as Rudiger’s successor, but add they are likely to face competition for his signature from Manchester United.
And, of course, any business by Chelsea in the transfer market will only be possible once sanctions are lifted following the arrival of new owners.
    Lukaku costs £0.5m per shot
A new study suggests Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has cost them nearly half-a-million pound for every shot he has made this season.
A bettingodds.com report says the £15.33million Lukaku has earned so far this campaign from his £18.2m annual wage means that each of his 31 shots on goal have cost the club £494,397.
Belgium star Lukaku, who rejoined the Blues from Inter Milan last summer for a club record fee of £97.5m, has 12 goals so far this term.
    Chelsea ‘missed out on Alisson’
Chelsea reportedly missed out on the chance to sign Brazil keeper Alisson fours years ago.
The Daily Telegraph says the Blues were unwilling to pay Roma’s asking price before he joined Prem rivals Liverpool for a then world-record fee of £66.8million in July 2018.
Their report points out Chelsea instead paid Athletic Bilbao £71.6m a month later for shot-stopper Kepa Arrizabalaga, who now regularly warms the Blues bench.
    Chelsea eye Reims teen Ekitike
Chelsea and Manchester United have both joined Newcastle in the race to star Reims teenager Hugo Ekitike, according to Goal.
The France Under-20 striker, 19, is being tracked by Europe’s big hitters after bagging nine goals in in 22 Ligue 1 games.
Reims president president Jean-Pierre Caillot says they knocked back a £29million bid in the winter but admits they will sell at the right price.

    Lukaku pay cut at Inter?
Romelu Lukaku would have to cut his annual salary in HALF to secure a move back to Inter Milan, according to Football Italia.
Chelsea’s £97.5million striker has reportedly started talks with the Serie A club about a return after leaving them last summer.
The Belgium star will still command a big fee but he might have to make his peace with a reduced salary of only £5.5m-per-year rather than his current £10-11m pay packet to return to the Nerazzurri.
    Duo should go for Rudiger
Glen Johnson says Prem pacesetters Manchester City and Liverpool will be missing a trick if they do not make a move for Antonio Rudiger.
The Germany centre-half, 29, has reportedly agreed to join Real Madrid when his deal with Chelsea expires at the end of the season.
Retired England and Liverpool defender Johnson, 37, told ggrecon.com: “I am a bit surprised that neither of those teams seemed to make a move for him because great players available on a free don’t come around very often.”
He added: “I think if he could get into one of Manchester City or Liverpool’s starting elevens, then I’d say Liverpool.
“I’d have liked seeing him alongside Virgil van Dijk. When he’s on song he’s fantastic, but he does have faults, so you can’t break the bank for that.”
    Good morning Chelsea fans
Antonio Rudiger is on the verge of joining Real Madrid this summer.
Thomas Tuchel has already confirmed the defender will leave Chelsea on a free transfer.
And Real are now close to agreeing a lucrative four-year deal with the German.
Chelsea are already on the hunt for replacements.
And it’s reckoned Tuchel’s top choice is Jules Kounde.
Indeed, the defender has already told Sevilla he wants to leave.
But it remains to be seen if the Spaniards play ball after effectively blocking a transfer last year.
Elsewhere, Chelsea are reportedly keen on signing Riyad Mahrez this summer.
The Man City star is out of contract in 2023 and is a prime target for AC Milan.
Foot Mercato claims PSG, Barcelona and Real Madrid are also monitoring the situation.
But Chelsea have emerged as prime contenders to Milan for Mahrez’s signature.
Finally, the successful bidders for Chelsea must guarantee that they will stay in charge of the football club for at least ten years.
Raine Group, the merchant bank overseeing the sale of the Blues, has contacted the three remaining parties to ask that any controlling shareholders do not sell their prospective stakes until at least 2032.

The youngster made his debut for Inter this season – making three appearances before being shipped out on loan to France in the January transfer window in order to aid his development.
And Satriano’s impressive displays have caught the attention of London rivals Chelsea and Spurs who are both prowling for attacking reinforcements this summer, The Mirror claim.

    Blues to wait for Rice
West Ham are determined to keep captain Declan Rice this summer, but The Athletic understand that the club have conceded that they will most likely have to sell their prized asset in 12 months’ time.
The England international has two years to run on his current deal with the Hammers, who do hold the option of triggering an extra year if they so wish.
However, Rice has once again passed up the opportunity to pen an extension, and so West Ham officials are resigned to cashing in.

Thomas Tuchel is a huge admirer of the midfielder that Chelsea released from their academy once upon a time, and desperately wants the club to bring him back to Stamford Bridge.

    Tuchel explains ‘weird’ James absence
Reece James was a surprise absentee from Chelsea’s limp and late 1-0 win over West Ham, but Thoma Tuchel doesn’t expect the right-back to be out for long.
Speaking after yesterday’s game, the German explained that he had left the England international out as a precaution after the player expressed slight concerns.
“[Reece James] had a bit of a weird feeling, and was not feeling fully confident about his hamstrings,” Tuchel told the press.
“It isn’t a new injury or a recurrence of an old injury. We checked the medical images, and there is absolutely nothing, but he didn’t feel totally comfortable. We did not want to take the risk of a re-injury and left him out of the squad.”
“Not having Reece is a big loss because of his individual quality and what he brings to the team.
“He’s been in good form as well, so it is a shame to not have him with us especially when we are already missing Mateo Kovacic and Toni Rudiger.”
    Rudiger Real deal edging nearer
Antonio Rudiger has verbally agreed to join Real Madrid in the summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The transfers expert reports that while no contract has been officially signed, the defender’s move to the European giants has been given the green light.
The two parties have apparently settled on a long-term deal for the German, who will move to the Bernabeu on a free transfer in the summer.
Rudiger moved to Chelsea from Roma in 2019 for a fee of £29million.
    Barca meeting with Rudi representatives
Antonio Rudiger’s departure from Stamford Bridge was confirmed over the weekend, and the main question now is just where will the German end up?
Real Madrid appear to be the club in pole position to snap up the centre-back on a free transfer, but their LaLiga rivals Barcelona have admitted recent talks with the player’s agent.
However, the Spanish giants have been keen to point out that a deal for the defender was not discussed during talks.
Manchester United have supposedly made the largest contract offer to Rudiger, but the 29-year-old will only consider a club able to offer Champions League football.

    Chelsea will run for Jules
A new centre-back will be the number one priority for Thomas Tuchel as soon as Chelsea’s new owners are in place.
The confirmation that Antonio Rudiger will leave the club this summer has expedited the Blues’ need for a defender – especially if Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta follow the German out of the exit door.
And the London club’s main target once again appears to be Sevilla’s Jules Kounde.
Chelsea were knocked back with approach for the Frenchman last summer, but are keen to revisit a deal following speculation that the player is available for a cut-price £50million.
    Morning, Chelsea fans
Thomas Tuchel hailed Chelsea’s ‘patience’ in yesterday’s last-gasp triumph but confirmed Antonio Rudiger’s has run out.
Late sub Christian Pulisic sank West Ham 1-0 – soon after Jorginho’s dreadful penalty miss – to end a run of three straight home losses.
Hammers’ defender Craig Dawson saw red when he conceded that woeful spot-kick by fouling another impressive substitute, Romelu Lukaku.
Overall, though, the defiant Hammers were unlucky, having resting six main men, including Declan Rice.
Blues boss Tuchel said: “They defend with eight to nine players around their box and it’s tough to find spaces to accelerate.
“First half was a bit stuck but I think that was because of a bit of uncertainty with the latest results at home. We grew into it, never lost patience.”
And explaining why Chelsea showed caution, he added: “It was also not the moment to take every risk after our recent results.”
Meanwhile, Tuchel admitted Rudiger told him in a ‘private talk’ that the centre-back will leave this summer.
The Blues can’t offer new contracts as Government sanctions against outgoing owner Roman Abramovich hit hard.
And Manchester United target Rudiger has finally revealed what everyone expected – that he will be the first big-name departure.
Tuchel said: “We gave everything – me and the club.
“Without the sanctions we would at least be able to carry on fighting, but our hands are tied.”
Government back plan to block rogue owners
Powers to stop rogue owners buying clubs at all levels will be formally backed by the Government today, writes MARTIN LIPTON.
Sports Minister Nigel Huddleston will announce the 10 main recommendations of November’s “fan-led review” are to be introduced in a Parliamentary Bill.
That will see the legal establishment of an “independent regulator” with powers to oversee the game at all levels.
Former Sports Minister Tracey Crouch and her team urged the adoption of a new “integrity test” for owners.
That is aimed at ensuring no repeat of the chaos that saw Bury go bust after more than a century of football at Gigg Lane.
Huddleston wants to “protect clubs and their fans from unscrupulous owners” amid concetat the number of clubs throughout the pyramid living beyond their means.
Huddleston said: “Radical change is needed to protect the future of our national game.
“We will establish a strong, independent regulator but the football authorities can take action now to tackle issues currently facing the game.”
Swansong coming up for the Rudi Blues
Manchester United target Antonio Rudiger has told Chelsea he WILL leave the club at the end of the season, Thomas Tuchel confirmed.
The German defender’s contract expires at Stamford Bridge in the summer.
And manager Tuchel revealed the pair had a “private talk” where it was decided his future would be away from the club.

The Blues boss said: “Toni, the media is on it. The situation is that he wants to leave the club.
“He informed me of this in a private talk.
“We gave everything – me and the club – but we could not fight anymore because of the actions.
“Without the sanctions we would at least be able to carry on fighting, but our hands are tied.
“We don’t take it personally. It is his decision.”
    Tuchel’s astonishing claim
Thomas Tuchel put Chelsea’s last-gasp victory over West Ham down to ‘patience’ – and claimed they ‘couldn’t take risks’ due to their recent poor home form.
Christian Pulisic bagged the only goal in stoppage time, soon after the Hammers had Craig Dawson sent off for a foul from which Jorginho missed a penalty.
Blues’ boss Tuchel told Sky Sports: “It’s not easy to have good games against them (West Ham).
“They defend with eight to nine players around their box and it’s tough to find spaces to accelerate. I did not expect a spectacular game.
“First half was a bit stuck but I think that was because of a bit of uncertainty with the latest results at home. We grew into it, never lost patience.”
“West Ham defend with a lot of bodies and discipline. We have to wait for the moments.
“We had some accelerations with Mason (Mount) from midfield but nobody was joining. We controlled it but could not find spaces.
“It was also not the moment to take every risk after our recent results.
“The red card maybe opened more space to allow the late answer.”
    Pulisic relief
Matchwinning Chelsea sub Christian Pulisic admits it is a huge relief to have ended a run of three successive home defeats.
The stoppage-time hero revealed Blues’ boss Thomas Tuchel told him to go and grab a winner.
Pulisic said: “He just said to make a difference. To combine and make opportunities.
“It feels good to be more secure in the top four. We need a win at home and it feels great in front of our fans.
“We need to finish the season strong. Some good league games and then a final.
“I needed to come in and make a difference and show I want to be playing.”
Tuchel clears Jorginho for penalties despite horror miss
Thomas Tuchel backed Jorginho despite his spot kick shocker, writes ANDY DILLON.
The Chelsea midfielder wasted a golden opportunity to give his team the lead against dogged West Ham by fluffing a penalty three minutes from time.

Sub Christian Pulisic got his Italian team-mate out of jail by scoring in the last seconds of normal time but boss Tuchel admits his player is ‘upset’ at his miss.
Tuchel said: “Jorgi had a perfect record with us so normally you believe and we all believed we had finally the chance to score the goal we needed.
“He has a certain style of shooting. When he scores it looks unbelievable, cool, calm, composed.
“When he misses a penalty, it looks like: could he have done better?
“But it’s his style and he’s right to stick with it. He’s very upset with himself.”
Top 17 players for errors leading to shots
Four Manchester United players feature among the players who have made the most errors leading to shots in the Premier League, writes JOSHUA JONES.
And it is blundering captain Harry Maguire who tops the unwanted list. The 29-year-old is struggling to catch a break on the pitch at the moment – and was inexplicably sent a shocking bomb threat.
Now Opta’s stats show Maguire has made seven mistakes in 62 appearances that have allowed opponents to take a shot since the start of last season.

That is more than any other outfield player in England’s top flight.
And to make matters worse, Nemanja Matic is second on the list with six from 40 games. Red Devils full-backs Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka also feature among the top 17 with four errors each, from 52 and 54 appearances respectively, in a further blow for David De Gea.
Arsenal defender Gabriel and Luke Ayling both have made six mistakes.

TYSON FURY knocked out Dillian Whyte with a spectacular uppercut in the sixth round to retain his WBC title at Wembley. The fight had begun in tentative fashion – before the Gypsy King upped the pace in the half-way mark and then brutally finished the job with distinction.
And despite Fury’s retirement plans, the 6″9 machine could be tempted into a nine-figure showdown with the winner of Anthony Joshua or Oleksandr Uysk.

Fury almost made Old Trafford debut
Old Trafford was close to hosting Tyson Fury’s blockbuster bout with Dillian Whyte, it has emerged.
Unfortunately, the dates did not work with the domestic football season heading towards it conclusion, and an alternative location was sought.
In the end, Wembley was selected as the venue for Fury’s successful defence of his heavyweight title that took place on Saturday evening.
However, Manchester United fan Fury is keen to explore the possibility of performing at the Theatre of Dreams in the future – if he returns to the ring.

    Fury should return to WWE
If Tyson Fury does quit boxing, then he should contemplate a glorious return to World Wrestling Entertainment.
That’s the view of the BBC’s boxing expert Steve Bunce, who believes the 33-year-old is a born performer.
He wrote: “Can you imagine him touring the USA with the WWE? It would be like touring with Kiss, the greatest rock band in history.
“He will be selling out 20,000 arenas every night of the week for a month. It would be incredible.
“Sure, WWE is choreographed, but you cannot choreograph how you fall from the five-foot-high ring turnbuckle when a guy swings you.
“You land on your back, head, shoulder – you suffer physically. You do not get hit on the chin like you do in boxing, but it is a brutal sport.”
Fury previously enjoyed a cameo as part of WWE in 2019, eventually defeating Braun Strowman by countout at Crown Jewel following a short feud between the pair.
    Morning, fight fans
Quits in or even more quids in?
Tyson Fury insists it’s not even a question – he’s DEFINITELY retired after dismantling Dillian Whyte  – but there’s already talk of a £100million golden goodbye.
The unbeaten WBC heavyweight champ partied at a country pub yesterday, wearing a jazzy suit as he ate juicy fruit, and sipping low-cal beer after going for a run as he vowed to stay in shape.
And there’s speculation over a nine-figure showdown with the winner of Anthony Joshua’s revenge bid against Oleksandr Usyk.
British boxing legend Lennox Lewis certainly hopes the Gypsy King – the ‘best heavyweight in the world’ – continues to fight.
Lewis said of the 33-year-old: “Fury’s at the top of the game… Nothing’s stopping him.
“He’s gonna take some time and rest and come back to us.
“I would understand [if he retires] but I doubt (it). I think he’ll be back in the ring.
“I believe Fury’s going to want to go for undisputed.”
The Gypsy King’s wife Paris has hinted he could fight on and appeared to mouth ‘no chance’ when he announced his quit plans.
Fury himself, though, told a news conference he was ‘happy’ with his decision to hang up his gloves.
He admitted he might consider exhibition fights or a WWE bout.
But he said: “I’ve fulfilled everything I’ve wanted to fulfill, and I’m going to retire as the only second heavyweight champion after Rocky Marciano to retire undefeated.”
Fury ‘could be tempted by £100m fight’
Tyson Fury partied at a country pub yesterday just hours after his knock-out win — with rumours of a £100million return to the ring already swirling.
The Gyspy King, 33, headed for a run first-thing, just hours after beating Dillian Whyte, 34, in front of a 94,000 crowd at Wembley Stadium.
And showing he plans to stay in shape, he then sipped on a low-cal beer, while wearing a jazzy suit.

Despite announcing his retirement after claiming victory in the ring, experts said the fighter could pocket the biggest fee in boxing history if he ditched his plans and took on a belt-unifying bout.
The £100million figure came after wife Paris hinted her man “could” be tempted back to the ring.
And she appeared to say “No chance” as he announced he was hanging up his gloves.
Fury wore a dazzling multicoloured outfit as he strode to The Three Horseshoes Pub in the village of Letchmore Heath, Herts, before he was mobbed by adoring fans yesterday.
The WBC king posed with locals — even cuddling a baby — before nipping inside for a “breakfast of champions” — tucking into pancakes, bacon and fruit.
He was joined by wife Paris — who earlier posted a social media tribute to her man, hailing him “The greatest ever”.
    Judges all had Fury leading
All three judges had Tyson Fury winning before he knocked out Dillian Whyte in the sixth round.
But the trio all differed in their opinion of the bout with one judge giving two rounds to Whyte.
Judge Juan Carlos Pelayo scored rounds two and three in favour of the Body Snatcher despite Fury landing more punches in both.
In fact, Whyte failed to land more punches than his opponent in any round, yet Guido Cavalleri also judged Whyte to have won the first round.

That meant Canadian Robert Tapper was the only judge to score every round 10-9 to the Gypsy King.
It mattered little in the end as Fury delivered one of the best punches of his career to flatten The Body Snatcher.
Although Fury landed more than double the punches Whyte managed, the fight did appear to be a closely fought contest.
Measures were also put in place to ensure fairness amongst the judges – with Brits banned from the judging panel.
Nevertheless, some boxing fans were perplexed by the scoring with one writing on Twitter: “What’s that middle one Pelaying at?”
Another added: “Whyte never won a round! It was a demolition job!”
‘The old fat boy can fight’
Tyson Fury delivered a rousing motivational speech where he urged people to follow their dreams following his victory against Dillian Whyte.
The Gypsy King defended his WBC heavyweight title in emphatic fashion at Wembley on Saturday night as he stopped the Body Snatcher in the sixth round.

A brutal uppercut floored the Brixton banger, and despite the 34-year-old bravely beating the count, referee Mark Lyson correctly waved off the bout.
After extending his unbeaten record to 33 fights, the Manchester United fan once again reiterated his desire to hang up his gloves after promising his wife Paris.
Speaking in the post-fight press conference, the 33-year-old then discussed the importance of always believing in yourself.
He also spoke openly about his suicide attempt in 2016 where he drove his Ferrari towards a bridge at 190mph.
Fury said: “I’ve been the underdog my whole life, look at me! I’m still the underdog. Look at me! I’m as fat as anything. But the old fat-boy can fight.
“And you know what it is? No matter how many times people put you down or write you off in life, never pay attention to it because it doesn’t mean anything.
“Because I’ve proved that as just a normal, normal lucky man, an average Joe, that anything is possible.
“No matter where you are in your life, how dark of a place you’re in – it doesn’t get any darker than committing suicide and I was there.
“To come back to lose all that weight, to lose over ten stone in weight and get back mentally well again and regain the crown jewels in boxing.
“It’s been a fantastic career and you should never let anybody crush your dreams because anything is possible. And I’m definitely proof of that. It’s true.”
Lennox hopes ‘best heavyweight’ Fury carries on
LENNOX LEWIS says Tyson Fury is “the best heavyweight in the world” and does not want him to retire.
The three-time world champion watched the Gypsy King defeat Dillian Whyte at Wembley on Saturday night with a brutal uppercut in the sixth round.
That ensured he retained the WBC heavyweight title and stretched his unbeaten record between the ropes.
Fury, 33, reiterated afterwards that he would be quitting boxing after the mega £26million-plus payday.
But the legendary Lewis said: “Fury’s at the top of the game, the best heavyweight in the world. Nothing’s stopping him.
“He’s gonna take some time and rest and come back to us.
“I would understand [if he retires] but I hope he comes back. I doubt [he’ll retire], I think he’ll be back in the ring.
“I believe Fury’s going to want to go for undisputed.”
“He’s definitely up there in the scope of history, no question.”
Let Deontay fight for my title
Tyson Fury wants Deontay Wilder to fight for his WBC heavyweight title once he’s retired from boxing.
The Gypsy King made his second defence of the historic green belt on Saturday night with a stunning knockout of former sparring partner Dillian Whyte.
Fury, 33, is seemingly preparing for life after boxing and admits he’d to see former foe Wilder fight for the belt once he’s walked away from the sport.
He told Behind The Gloves: “I’d like to see Deontay Wilder fight whoever for it again.
“I don’t know how that’s [Wilder being No.1 in the WBC rankings] even possible. He’s lost three fights in a row and still No.1-rated.
    “But that’s up to them.”
Three wrongs don’t make it Whyte
Dillian Whyte’s three professional losses have all come courtesy of the same punch – a vicious uppercut, writes CHISANGA MALATA.
Whyte’s dream of becoming a world champion was shattered on Saturday night by a hellacious right uppercut from Tyson Fury in the sixth round of their domestic dust-up at Wembley.
The Brixton Body Snatcher somehow managed to beat the count but referee Mark Lyson wisely called a halt to proceedings after seeing him wobble on his feet.

Fury perfectly timed the uppercut, which Whyte has been susceptible to throughout his career.
Whyte’s tendency to dip his head into uppercut range cost him dearly in his first fight with former world title challenger Alexander Povetkin in August 2020.
The Russian timed Whyte’s head movement in the fifth round and cracked him with a lethal left uppercut that separated him from consciousness before he even hit the canvas.
The uppercut also proved to be Whyte’s undoing in his grudge match with Anthony Joshua in December 2015. But unlike against Fury and Povetkin, he was initially just badly dazed.
After rocking Whyte with a big right hand in the seventh round, AJ unloaded a barrage of vicious shots to try and close the show. Whyte weathered most of the storm but ended up being drilled with a big uppercut through the guard that sent him crashing into the canvas.

    Tyson celebrates at TOWIE hotspot
Tyson Fury continued the celebrations after his brilliant win over Derek Whyte by breaking out the bubbly at a TOWIE hotspot this afternoon.
The boxing icon was joined by his wife Paris – who pal Carl Froch claimed is pregnant again – brother Tommy and a host of family and friends at Sheesh Restaurant in Chigwell, Essex.

Decked out in a jazzy pair of multi-coloured trousers and jacket, white shirt and black hat, the Gypsy King was spotted raising a glass of bubbly along with Paris.
The video footage shared by the establishment and his boxing pal Ty Mitchell on social media then showed the 33-year-old heavyweight champ on a video call to Eddie Hearn – Anthony Joshua’s Matchroom promoter.
And even TOWIE actor Mark Wright was joining in the fun and games in his local joint.
It seems the party is not stopping for the much-loved star after he enjoyed a breakfast of champions earlier following his brilliant world title defence.
    Demolition job
All three judges had Tyson Fury winning before he knocked out Dillian Whyte in the sixth round.
But the trio all differed in their opinion of the bout with one judge giving two rounds to Whyte.

Judge Juan Carlos Pelayo scored rounds two and three in favour of the Body Snatcher despite Fury landing more punches in both.

    Froch dig at ’empty seats’
Carl Froch could not resist a sly dig over the attendance at last night’s Tyson Fury versus Dillian Whyte fight while referencing the 80,000 that watched him face George Groves.
The Gypsy King beat the Body Snatcher via knockout with a brutal uppercut in the sixth round at Wembley last night.
Fury, 33, is adamant that he is retiring from the ring now – although there are still several bouts that could entice him back into action.

But if that is the final chapter, then he ended his career with a massive payday in front of a record crowd at the national stadium.
However, the former unified super middleweight champ Froch was unable to resist referencing that he once boxed in front of 80,000 at Wembley too while working as a pundit for the event.
That was when he battled Groves in a rematch back in 2014 – and he was not convinced that Fury’s win attracted the reported 94,000 crowd. Froch won that bout by KO and then retired, but he still regularly talks about it at every opportunity.
And during an appearance on BBC Breakfast news yesterday the interviewer asked him: “It is such a big moment, isn’t it, for British boxing?” To which Froch replied: “Absolutely, this is a massive moment. And what an occasion.
“I don’t know if you know, but I once boxed here in front of 80,000 fans and this stadium, trust me, is an amazing place.”
And after Fury’s win, he was asked about the 94,000 crowd, to which he told IFL TV: “Did you count them? There were a few empty seats.” That sent Twitter into meltdown, with one person replying: “Carl probably counted them.” Another said: “Classic by Froch!”
Let Wilder fight for my title
Tyson Fury wants Deontay Wilder to fight for his WBC heavyweight title once he’s retired from boxing.
The Gypsy King made his second defence of the historic green belt on Saturday night with a stunning knockout of former sparring partner Dillian Whyte.
Fury, 33, is seemingly preparing for life after boxing and admits he’d to see former foe Wilder fight for the belt once he’s walked away from the sport.
He told Behind The Gloves: “I’d like to see Deontay Wilder fight whoever for it again.

    “But that’s up to them.”
Tyson: There’s nothing more I can do
Tyson Fury also listed a number of his achievements, saying: “By the way, I take a lot of pride in this.
“I know proud’s not the best thing to be but I’m very proud of… I’ve won two English titles, two British titles, two Commonwealth titles…
“The Irish title, the European title, WBO intercontinental, WBO international, WBO super, WBA super, IBF, IBO, Ring Magazine, lineal, WBC, WBC global.
“I’ve won every belt there is to win.
“There isn’t nothing more I can do. I’ve won every belt in the game.
“If this was a computer game it would definitely be completed, that’s for sure.”
Fury revealed that money doesn’t motivate him and won’t tempt him back into the ring, insisting that he is happy driving an 07 Passat.
    Breakfast of champions
Tyson Fury enjoyed a breakfast of champions as he toasted retaining his heavyweight world title, writes JOSHUA JONES.
The WBC king put on a masterclass performance to beat Dillian Whyte at Wembley last night.
His brutal uppercut at the end of the sixth round finished off the Body Snatcher.
And after a good night’s sleep, Fury feasted on pancakes, bacon and fruit.

He was joined by wife Paris – who is rumoured to be pregnant – as well as brother Tommy and his girlfriend Molly-Mae Hague.
Dad John was also around the table as well as other pals.
And they were certainly in the mood to celebrate after a successful night at the home of football.
As well as Fury’s blockbuster finale to dispatch Whyte, Tommy was also victorious.
He secured a points win over Daniel Bocianski on the undercard at Wembley.
    “No chance”, says Paris
Paris Fury appeared to mouth “no chance” as husband Tyson told Wembley Stadium that he’s retiring from professional boxing, says ETIENNE FERMIE.
The Gypsy King produced a stunning sixth round uppercut to knock out Dillian Whyte and retain his heavyweight titles.
Fury, 33, subsequently got on the mic – telling the 94,000 fans congregated at Wembley Stadium that this is it for his pro boxing career.
As he was talking, however, Paris appeared to say “no chance” – potentially letting slip that she doesn’t believe it’s really the end.

Alternatively, she may have been saying that there is “no chance” he fights again.
Tyson told the crowd: “I promised my lovely wife, Paris, of 14 years, after the Wilder 3 fight that would be it and I meant it.”
Body shot to the Body Snatcher
Tyson Fury may have won Saturday night’s heavyweight showdown against Dillian Whyte with a stinging right uppercut, but a brutal left hook also left The Body Snatcher wounded, writes GIACOMO PISA.
The Gypsy King revealed he spoke to Whyte in the ring after landing a bruising shot to his midriff.
Fury then revealed he couldn’t help but whisper in Whyte’s ear after landing a particularly meaty left hook to his body.
He continued: “The one thing that amazed me was I clipped the Body Snatcher with a left hook to the body.
“And I went ‘You’re hurt Body Snatcher aren’t you?’ and he went ‘Yeah'”.
Victory in front of 94,000 fans at Wembley was a 32nd win of Fury’s career, and maintained his unbeaten record as a professional.
‘I’ve won every belt there is to win’ says Fury
Tyson Fury also listed a number of his achievements, saying: “By the way, I take a lot of pride in this.

‘I’m the best heavyweight there’s ever been’, says Fury
Tyson Fury has revealed the qualities that have made him the “greatest heavyweight of all-time”, writes ETIENNE FERMIE.
The Gypsy King supposedly brought the curtain down on a sensational undefeated career by producing a stunning sixth-round uppercut to knock Dillian Whyte out in front of 94,000 fans at Wembley Stadium.
Explaining his success in the press conference afterwards, Fury reeled off traits that have seen him take the heavyweight division by storm.
He said: “I’m the best heavyweight there’s ever been. There ain’t ever been one who could beat me.
“You know why? I’m not just being pompous or arrogant… 6ft 9in frame. 275lbs weight.
“Can move like a middleweight. Can hit like a thunderstorm. I can take a punch like… anybody else.
“And I’ve got balls like King Kong, a heart of a lion, the mindset of the Wizard of Oz. It is what it is.”

    Paul on Fury’s show
According to MMA journalist Ariel Helwani, Jake Paul was less-than impressed with what he saw from Tommy Fury, writes JOHN HUTCHINSON.
The social media star reportedly said: “Congrats on beating a 10-1 fighter. But that stadium was empty.
“When I fight the stadium is full. When Tommy fights no one gives a f***. And that’s in his home country.”
Fury could have done with stopping Bocianski to send a more powerful message to Paul.
But the Pole took some hefty punishment to take it to the referee’s scorecard.
    Fury calls out Jake Paul
Tyson’s brother Tommy Fury called out “bum” Jake Paul to “sign the contract” to finally fight inside the boxing ring.
Just minutes after the former Love Island star easily outpointed Daniel Bocianski over six rounds on brother Tyson’s undercard, he switched his attention to YouTuber Paul.
The two were set to fight this year after months of goading on social media – but it all fell through when Tommy picked up a chest infection and injured a rib.

Paul scoffed at Fury’s excuses, and blasted the 22-year-old for missing out on a career-high payday.
But Mollie-Mae’s other half is refusing to give up on dreams of settling his beef with Paul.
He told BT Sport: “Jake Paul, this should have been done a long time ago.
“If you want it I am here and ready for you. I will cut you and chop you to bits, just like I did there.
“Just get the contracts signed, you bum, let’s get it done once and for all.”
Fury vs Ngannou – will it happen?
Ngannou is currently embroiled in a contract dispute with the UFC brass and has turned down a bumper new deal from the MMA promotion.
The Cameroonian-born Frenchman – whose contract with UFC expires in December – wants the freedom to box in addition to a pay rise.
Ngannou is set to miss the remainder of the year after going under the knife last month to have an ACL reconstruction and an MCL repair.
And he’s confident a fight with Fury will materialise next year, telling BT Sport: “Definitely sometime next year. 2023.
    “That fight will happen!”
“Because by the end of the year, to know exactly [where I stand], we’re going to sort it and get settled and ready to go.”
He added: “Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou in Africa, that would be the best one. The Rumble in the Jungle 2!”
Fury’s American promoter Bob Arum is confident of making the crossover clash.
He told boxing reporter Lance Pugmire: “I don’t know what this guy’s contract situation is with the UFC.
“Obviously, it’s a massive fight and it should be easy to make since both Tyson and [Ngannou] are with ESPN.”
Fury and Ngannou tease UFC bout
TYSON FURY teased a blockbuster showdown with UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou – just moments after suggesting he could retire, writes CHISANGA MALATA.
The UFC’s first African-born heavyweight champion was ringside for Fury’s successful defence of his WBC strap against Dillian Whyte on Saturday night.

Fury beat Whyte with a perfect uppercut in the sixth round.
The Predator then made his way into the ring moments after the fight, further teasing a transition into boxing.
And the pair quickly began talking up a showdown during a joint interview with ESPN, with Fury saying: “Going to be an explosive fight when it happens.”
Ngannou then said: “We’re going to find out who the Baddest Motherf***er on the Planet is?”
    Paris and Molly
Paris Fury celebrated husband Tyson’s knockout win over Dillian Whyte by crowning him the “greatest of all time”, writes GIACOMO PISA.
The 32-year-old mum of six took to social media after the fight to post an adorable snap of her and The Gypsy King.

Paris uploaded a snap to Instagram of the couple sharing a kiss as they rejoiced Tyson’s 32nd professional victory, with the heavyweight vowing to retire from boxing after the battle of Britain showdown.
Molly-Mae Hague also joined Paris on the night, and the pair posed backstage for a snap.
Molly-Mae was at Wembley cheering on boyfriend Tommy, half brother to Tyson, who won his fight at Wembley.
Paris stunned in an all-white outfit, calling Love Island star Molly-Mae “the next leading lady,” and “a beauty inside and out” as the social media influencer also wowed fans in a sleek black dress.
The 22-year-old was ringside to watch Tommy secure a points victory over Daniel Bocianksi and call out Jake Paul.
    Wembley is a witness
Moments after having his hand raised, an elated Fury said: “I’m overwhelmed with the support.
“I cannot believe 94,000 countrymen and women came here tonight to see me perform.
“From the bottom of my heart thank you so much, thank you so much to everyone who bought a ticket tonight or stay up late to watch it on TV.”
