    That’s all from Kenilworth Road
It’s all level as the two sides head into the second leg at The John Smith’s Stadium on Monday.
This semi-final could still go either way.
A place in the play-off final at Wembley is at stake.
Thank you for reading, and goodnight!
    Nathan Jones reacts
When speaking to Sky Sports, Jones said:
“As I said pre-match the margins between the sides have been really tight and really small.
“I thought first half we were outstanding, really excellent.
“We should’ve had a penalty which is a possible red card there because he’s denied an absolute goalscoring opportunity.
“I know they had half of one in terms of that little… but it’s very difficult. Obviously I see it from orange eyes, but I thought we were excellent first half.
“We needed to capitalise properly on that. Second half they caused us problems, we just packed in the midfield and until we changed we didn’t get to grips with that. But, real tactical game, real cagey game, nothing in it.
“Keeper had one shot to save really and it’s gone in but they’re a good side, they’re a fantastic side and it’s going to be difficult but it’s all to play for.”

    Carlos Corberan reacts
“I thought the draw was the fair result today. Luton were a little better than us in the first half, but I thought the team was excellent in the second half.”
“Duane Holmes played wide on the pitch during the first half, so we switched his position to a more central one. I thought we controlled the ball in the second half, which is exactly what we wanted to do.”
“The second half makes me feel like this was a positive performance. Now we must focus on recovery, and being ready for another really tough game on Monday night.”

    Duane Homes reacts
When speaking to Sky Sports, Holmes said:
“It’s a game of two legs and we’re going back to our place now.
“We’re still in the tie, obviously we’re disappointed to concede that kind of goal when we’ve been so good at defending set plays all year.
“That’s football so we’ll dust ourselves off and go again Monday.”
On the penalty incident: “On first look it definitely looked like a pen. The kick-off is something we have worked on all week and then it nearly worked.
“Probably a penalty, but saying that, they probably should’ve had a penalty when Cameron Jerome got brought down. I think the ref might not have given that one because he didn’t give ours.
“We had 90 minutes to win the game, but like I said we’re still in the tie.”

Full Time – Luton 1-1 Huddersfield
Huddersfield felt hard done by in the early stages of the game after their penalty appeals were controversially denied in the opening minute.
But The Terriers quickly picked themselves back up as Sinani opened the scoring.
A possible lack of awareness from the defence led to the equalising goal, but Carlos Corberan’s side made few errors after that.
It could be argued that Huddersfield have the advantage going into the second leg as they are set to play at home, but this game could still go wither way.
Full Time – Luton 1-1 Huddersfield
Luton got off to a fantastic start this evening and were unlucky to concede against the run of play.
Bradley was in the right place at the right time to put The Hatters back level at the half-hour mark.
Nathan Jones’ side were forced onto the back foot by Huddersfield during the second half which meant they struggled to create many effective chances.
However, they will still hold high hopes going into the second leg on Monday.

De Jong was of Barcelona’s standout performers under Ronald Koeman, but Xavi has been less impressed with him.
Cuatro claim the Barca legend wants midfielders better at retaining possession, in the mould of Pedri.
De Jong is also said to welcome the move after reportedly growing frustrated at playing second fiddle to Sergio Busquets.
And Barca are well aware that they will require another summer of sales as the Catalan club’s debt crisis continues.

In other news, Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo has told team-mates he intends to stay but only if incoming manager Erik ten Hag wants him, reports SunSport’s Richard Moriarty.
A United insider revealed: “Ronaldo told the players he’s not going anywhere unless the club say they don’t want him.
“No one is more disappointed than him about how the season has panned out.

Elsewhere, departing Manchester United star Nemanja Matic is set to pocket a £10million signing-on-bonus as he edges closer to joining Juventus.
Matic will leave Old Trafford as a free agent in the summer after he decided against staying for his final year.
According to the Daily Star, the midfielder, who joined United from Chelsea, is poised to link up with Juve.

Finally, Erik ten Hag has outlined a shortlist of priority positions Manchester United should look to address in the transfer market, according to reports.

And Barcelona’s ex-Ajax star De Jong emerged as Ten Hag’s top summer target at the get-together.
The meeting took place less than 24 hours after Ten Hag — who labelled his new job ‘a fantastic challenge with something to build and win’ — clinched the Dutch title with Ajax.
But United admit it  will be tough to get the playmaker away from  Barcelona and also fight off interest from the likes of Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and neighbours Manchester City.

    Carrick being touted as manager
Man United legend Michael Carrick is rated a top candidate to take over League One strugglers Lincoln City.
The former England midfielder is pondering his first full-time boss job after quitting Old Trafford last December.
The five-time Premier League winner, 40, left United when Ralf Rangnick was named interim manager.
Carrick picked up two wins and a draw in his three-game stint as Old Trafford caretaker chief after 15 years as a player and coach.
And many will be surprised he’s reportedly on the Lincoln shortlist.
The Mail say the ex-West Ham star is considering the opportunity.
    Ajax name Ten Hag’s successor
Ajax have found Erik ten Hag’s successor already.
Ten Hag is on his way to United after winning the Eredivisie with Ajax.
But the Dutch side have already moved on from their old boss and appointed Alfred Schreuder as his replacement.

They met in Amsterdam with United’s Director of Football John Murtough less than 24 hours after Ten Hag had clinched the Dutch title with Ajax.
McClaren, 61, was Sir Alex Ferguson’s assistant from 1999 to 2001 before going on to manage Middlesbrough.
His presence at such a meeting is the clearest indication yet that he is going to be involved in the new management set-up at the club.

    Harry Maguire gets married

And in a bizarre link up the duo came together to show off their dancing skills in footage posted to Beck’s TikTok account.

    Man United plot double swoop
Man United are reportedly plotting a double transfer swoop for Benfica striker Darwin Nunez and Everton forward Richarlison.
Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial’s futures are uncertain, while Edinson Cavani is set to leave for free, plus Cristiano Ronaldo may also leave in pursuit of Champions League football next season.
And the Red Devils’ hierarchy believe Nunez and Richarlison can fill the void if the quartet leave the club, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.
Although he says incoming boss Erik ten Hag will need to give the green light to pursue the pair.
    Darwin Nunez price named
Benfica star and Manchester United target Darwin Nunez will cost around €75-80million (£64-68m) in the summer and many other clubs are expected to go after him.
Romano told the Wondergoal Podcast: “I’m really curious to see what happens with Darwin Nunez because I see him leaving Benfica this summer.
“I’m sure. It will depend on the price because, for example, in January on deadline day, West Ham made a proposal of €45m and it was turned down because Benfica wanted €55m.
“Now I think with €55m, you are absolutely not buying him. So, what is needed is around €75-80m for Darwin Nunez, to open negotiations with Benfica”

Blackburn target Carlos Carvalhal has won April’s manager of the month award in Portugal.
The Braga boss saw his side end league leaders Porto’s 58-game unbeaten run with a 1-0 victory on April 25.
Carvalhal, who is in the frame for the Ewood Park outfit, will be available without paying any compensation when his contract expires at the end of the season.
Ex-Norwich boss Daniel Farke and Wycombe’s Gareth Ainsworth are also on the shortlist to replace Tony Mowbray.
SunSport understands Carvahal, who managed Swansea in the Premier League and Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship, is keen on another crack in English football again.
Carvalhal, 56, qualified Braga for the Europa League again and would be seen as a major coup for Rovers given his previous pedigree in English football’s second tier after taking the Owls twice to the play-offs in successive seasons.
    Good morning football fans
Inter Milan CEO Beppe Marotta has claimed the club’s intention to sign Juventus star Paulo Dybala.
That works as a major blow for Manchester United and Tottenham, who are also eyeing Dybala ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to La Gazzetta delo Sport, however, Dybala has chosen Inter as his next destination.
Elsewhere, Crystal Palace want to secure the permanent signing of Chelsea loan star Conor Gallagher in the summer.
Gallagher was recognised as Palace’s 2021/2022 player of the season on Tuesday.
According to talkSPORT, the Eagles want to have the midfielder at Selhurst Park for the long-term.
Meanwhile, Erling Haaland’s £51million switch to Manchester City is eclipsed by incredible agents’ fees of £42m and his £34m annual wages.
The Borussia Dortmund striker’s dad Alf-Inge-Haaland could pick up around £25m as he has helped represent his son.
Some figures are unclear, such as if they are before or after taxes, but they are still a staggering example of how negotiations can work.
In other news, Aston Villa have confirmed the permanent signing of loan star Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona – who have made a £125million LOSS on the Brazilian playmaker.
After talks with Barcelona, Villa have now snapped up Coutinho on a long-term deal for just £17million.
Finally, Robert Lewandowski has reportedly told Bayern Munich he will NOT be signing a new contract.
Bild claims Lewandowski informed Bayern chiefs of his shock decision on Thursday.
    Coutinho takes pay cut
Philippe Coutinho has agreed to take a colossal pay cut of over 70 per cent in order to join Aston Villa, according to reports.
The Brazilian had been earning massive wages with Barcelona, figures Aston Villa would certainly not be able to afford without breaking apart their financial structure.
However, now Coutinho is thought to have cut his wages in order to force through a £17m move to play under Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard, his former team-mate at Liverpool.
He had been earning an incredible £480,000-a-week at Barcelona – Villa had paid him £120,000 a week during his loan spell.
Ten Hag wants De Jong reunion
Erik ten Hag desperately wants to be reunited with Frenkie de Jong as he kick-starts his Manchester United revolution.
The former England chief met Ten Hag at an Amsterdam summit, along with the new manager’s No 2 Mitchell van der Gaag and United’s football director John Murtough.
    Lewandowski to quit Bayern
Robert Lewandowski has reportedly told Bayern Munich he will NOT be signing a new contract.
Bild claims Lewandowski informed Bayern chiefs of his shock decision on Thursday.
The 33-year-old has been at the Allianz Arena since 2014 after joining on a free transfer from rivals Borussia Dortmund.
    Liverpool star’s war cry
Thiago Alcantara is fully focused on winning the FA Cup with Liverpool.
He said: “It doesn’t matter if we didn’t win for a long time.
“It’s just about a trophy that we can win and we add in our backpack this new challenge.
“Wembley is an amazing stadium. It’s special itself but then you know that Wembley is used for special moments.
“There’s different context and we’re ready to go to London.
“It’s a new game with Chelsea and we have to be prepared, nothing else.”
    Haaland’s chock release clause
Erling Haaland has a shock release clause in his Man City mega contract.
German newspaper Bild reported Haaland, 21, has an arrangement whereby he can leave the Etihad after just two years for €150m (£128m).
However, SunSport understands that while a release clause DOES exist in the contract, those figures and dates are not correct.
Social media reacted to the claim with ‘shock’ – one saying: “The only loser here is City. Crazy!”
    Coutinho to Aston Villa CONFIRMED
Aston Villa have confirmed the permanent signing of loan star Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona – who have made a £125million LOSS on the Brazilian playmaker.
Coutinho, 29, linked up with former Liverpool teammate Steven Gerrard on a six-month loan in January.
Gerrard made no secret of his desire to make the midfielder’s loan permanent.
And after talks with Barcelona, Villa have now snapped up Coutinho on a long-term deal for just £17million.
    Gerrard plans Liverpool raid
Steven Gerrard is planning to raid former club Liverpool in a bid to improve his leaky Aston Villa defence, according to reports.
Gerrard is understood to be eyeing up Joe Gomez as his transfer target, according to The Mirror, with a centre-back and central midfielder on his wish list to bring Aston Villa into European contention next season.
One of Villa’s Achilles’ heels since Gerrard took over has been a weak defence.
While The Villans have seldom had many problems scoring goals, thanks to the talents of Philippe Coutinho, Ollie Watkins, and Danny Ings, they have kept just eight clean sheets in 24 league games.
This poor record has ultimately cost them vital points and thwarted the chances of easily finishing in the top half of the table this season.
Gomez therefore would be a welcome addition to a defence which is in desperate need of some upgrades.
    Fabinho blow for Liverpool
Liverpool midfielder Fabinho is OUT of the FA Cup final on Saturday, Jurgen Klopp has confirmed.
The Brazilian was forced off in the first half of the Reds’ game against Aston Villa on Tuesday.
Klopp confirmed his number one midfield anchor would miss this weekend’s fixture due to a muscular injury but could still make a return before the season concludes.
He told Liverpool’s official site: “There’s a good chance that he will be back whenever – not for the weekend but whenever.”
    Erling Haaland’s agent fees
Erling Haaland’s £51million switch to Manchester City is eclipsed by incredible agents’ fees of £42m and his £34m annual wages.
The Borussia Dortmund striker’s dad Alf-Inge-Haaland could pick up around £25m as he has helped represent his son.
Some figures are unclear, such as if they are before or after taxes, but they are still a staggering example of how negotiations can work.
Norway hero Haaland is expected to earn about around £170m in pay if he sees out his five-year contract.
But he also has a staggering release clause, meaning he could leave City for £64m after just two years.
    Hugh battle for George Miller
Mark Hughes is weighing up a move for Barnsley’s George Miller on a free transfer.
But the Bantams face stiff competition from newly-promoted League One side Exeter for the 23-year-old striker.
Miller, who is out of contract this summer, spent last season on loan in League Two with Walsall, scoring 12 league goals in 41 appearances.
The forward, who has had two temporary spells at fourth tier Bradford, has also attracted interest from Stockport.

    United fortunate with penalty
Whilst they were entirely deserving of the victory tonight, Manchester United were lucky to get a penalty as a foul from Zach Abbott was made outside the area, after a heavy touch by Garnacho.
With no VAR to overturn the referee’s decision, he had to stick with his instinct and award the penalty, which Garnacho dispatched confidently.
Who knows if it was not given, Forest may have found a winner with the game poised at 1-1 at the time.
However, it was not to be for Forest.

All the build up surrounding the game was about him, and he stepped up when it mattered.
His penalty was composure personified, and his second goal was made up of the kind of elegance that will be in YouTube compilations for years to come.
    He is a serious talent.
Full Time. 3-1 to Manchester United!

He drives down the left hand side, reminiscent of his idol Cristiano, and cuts inside to his right foot.
He cuts back with the elegance of Argentine team mate Lionel Messi, and finishes his dinner, it does take a deflection past the keeper, but he won’t mind.
He runs off and takes off his shirt, which will see him pick up a yellow card for his troubles.
Sir Alex applauds him from the stands with a huge smile on his face.
    Remember the name, Alejandro Garnacho.

    Was it a penalty?
    81. There is some displeasure from the Nottingham Forest players and staff, who are insistent that Garnacho was fouled outside the box. It was close.
    Goal! 2-1 Manchester United!
    79. Siuuuuu! Is the celebration from Alejandro Garnacho, who sends the keeper the wrong way, and rolls it to the right hand side.

They are certainly players and a team of great quality, they build up on the right hand side here, but are let down by Mainoo in possession, unlike him it must be said.

Ecuador fear being booted out of World Cup
Ecuador could be booted out of the World Cup – for fielding an ineligible player, writes MARTIN LIPTON.
Chile lodged a formal complaint over the status of right-back Bryon Castillo, who has previously faced accusations he was actually born in the Colombian border city of Tumaco.
Castillo played in eight of Ecuador’s qualifiers as they finished in the fourth and final automatic slot and were drawn alongside Qatar, Holland and Senegal last month.
But Fifa have now announced it has opened formal disciplinary proceedings “in relation to the potential ineligibility” of the player, which would see Ecuador stripped of all their points from those matches and their opponents awarded 3-0 wins.
Chile, who finished seventh but lost twice to Ecuador, would then be propelled up the table to take the fourth slot in the finals.
Liverpool splash out £500k extra on Kaide
Liverpool have reportedly paid £500,000 to buy a sell-on clause in Kaide Gordon’s transfer from Derby.
Fabrizio Romano claims the Reds have forked over the extra dosh following Gordon’s impressive start to life at Anfield.
The winger, 17, joined Liverpool in an initial £1million deal from the Rams a year ago.
And Gordon has already clocked up four first-team appearances, including a debut Premier League appearance against Brentford in January.

Jurgen Klopp believes Gordon has the potential to become a big player for Liverpool.
And he has moved to buy a clause in Gordon’s transfer agreement which entitles Derby to a 20 per cent fee from any future sale.
Liverpool have decided to hand over £500k now rather than risk a bigger sum later down the line. It means Gordon’s total price from Derby could well exceed £3m through additional bonuses.
All eyes will now be on Gordon’s development in his new surroundings. But Klopp is confident the teenager will have no problems on Merseyside.
Why Chelsea dropped out of Haaland race
Chelsea withdrew from the race to sign Erling Haaland because they had DOUBTS about his ability to play in the Premier League, according to reports, writes GIACOMO PISA.
The 21-year-old will officially become a Manchester City player on July 1 after the club activated his £51million release clause.
But Pep Guardiola’s Premier League leaders weren’t the only side sniffing around the goalscoring sensation. Chelsea too spent time monitoring Haaland, who has scored a whopping 85 goals in 88 games for Borussia Dortmund.

But reporting back to club bosses, Blues scouts raised concerns about Haaland’s ability to be as prolific in the Premier League, according to ESPN. The report states there were doubts as to whether his style of play would be suited to playing in the Prem.
Haaland feeds off space in behind to run in to, something that is more frequently offered to strikers in the Bundesliga. The Norway international was afforded the room to utilise his incredible raw pace and power to maximum effect.
But less space for attackers in the Premier League led to doubts about his ability to wreak as much havoc on defenders.
And Chelsea weren’t the only club to raise their concerns about Haaland. ESPN claim Barcelona were not convinced by his “personality and character,” while Real Madrid had reservations regarding his injury record.
‘Utd and Spurs target’ Dybala tipped for Inter
Inter Milan have confirmed they want Manchester United and Tottenham ‘target Paulo Dybala’.
Juventus’ Argentina striker, 28, is moving on a free transfer this summer after failing to agree a lucrative new contract.

United have been linked with a swoop for Dybala with incoming boss Erik ten Hag understood to be a huge admirer.
And Spurs have retained their interest after missing out last year.
But both teams could lose the race to Juve’s big Italian rivals Inter.
And Italian outlet La Gazzetta delo Sport even say Dybala has chosen the Nerazzurri as his next club.
    Gueye roped in by Spurs
Tottenham reportedly want ex-Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye.
Jeunes Footeaux claims the tenacious star has emerged as a target for Antonio Conte as he approaches the final year of his PSG contract.
Gueye, 32, joined the French champions from Everton for £30million in 2019.
He has since won two titles and two French Cups after playing 110 games.
But PSG are ready to cut Gueye loose as they look for fresh faces this summer.
Rice tipped to reject 8-year Hammers’ deal
United and Chelsea target Declan Rice will turn down West Ham’s offer of an eight-year deal believing it would be crazy to commit the majority of his career to the club, reports SunSport’s Duncan Wright.
The East Londoners have tabled a £200,000-a-week offer for Rice taking him through until 2030.
The 23-year-old is one of the hottest prospects in European football and admits he may have to quit the London Stadium to play the top-level football he craves.
And though The Hammers have now come up with four improved offers in an attempt to tie him down the midfielder is standing firm by rejecting all of them.
Central to his thinking is not wanting to box himself into a similar position to Harry Kane, who saw his dream move to Manchester City blocked because Tottenham had him locked into a long-term deal.

The East Londoners have tabled a £200,000-a-week offer for Rice taking him through until 2030.
But SunSport understands the £10million-a-year package is being viewed by the Chelsea and Manchester United target’s side as West Ham co-owner David Sullivan playing to the crowd.

Wanda wonga is Maur than Icardi’s
Wanda Icardi ICARDI might be earning more than her football superstar husband Mauro Icardi, according to reports in Spain, writes JAMES COLOSANTI.
The Argentine influencer and businesswoman is raking in a small fortune, according to figures published in Mundo Deportivo.
The report says the 35-year-old’s income has been boosted after she recently signed a ‘millionaire agreement’ with her ex-husband Maxi Lopez following their divorce.

It adds the former Barcelona forward, 38, will have to continue to pay alimony until the youngest of their three children turns 21-years-old in 12 years’ time.
And it reveals that Wanda will get the house they shared in Santa Barbara, California, as part of the settlement.
The report explains Wanda’s successful and growing cosmetics brand along with advertising opportunities, social media and television work have also boosted her earning potential.
And, it adds, Wanda’s income includes commission earned as a football agent for Paris Saint-Germain star Mauro, 29.
The article quotes comments made by Argentine lawyer Mauricio D’Alessandro on the Argentine TV program, Intrusos.
He believes Wanda’s various income streams mean she is likely to be earning about €262,500 per month (£225,000).
Rodruiguez set to snub Becks’ Miami
David Beckham looks set to lose out on a major transfer for Inter Miami after James Rodriguez confirmed his desire to return to Europe this summer, writes TONY ROBERTSON.
Rodriguez, who is formerly of Everton and Real Madrid, is currently plying his trade out in Qatar with Al-Rayyan.
Former Manchester United and Real Madrid star Beckham wanted to bring Rodriguez to his Major League Soccer franchise Inter Miami, but now such a move looks unlikely after Rodriguez revealed his summer plans.

As quoted by Pipe Sierra via Fabrizio Romano, the Colombian said: “The transfer market will open soon, we’ll see.
“Returning to the elite football is a serious possibility, let’s see who wants my left foot again.”
Rodriguez joined Al-Rayyan in the Autumn of last year after being frozen out of Everton by then manager Rafael Benitez.
The 30-year-old has scored four goals and registered seven assists in just 12 league matches in Qatar this season.
However, Al-Rayyan sit in just eighth place in the Qatar Stars League having lost 10 games and winning just half of the other 12 they have played.
The 2014 World Cup Golden Boot winner had been consistently linked to Inter Miami, who already have Blaise Matuidi and Gonzalo Higuain among their ranks.
    Basrcelona in for Chelsea duo
Chelsea are reportedly open to a swap deal which would see Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso transfer to Barcelona, writes EMILIA HAWKINS.
In exchange, Sergino Dest and Neto could move to Stamford Bridge.
The Catalan giants have already agreed a five-year deal with Blues centre back Andreas Christensen.

But they are now set to raid Chelsea for two more defenders.
The Blues are currently limited in terms of player negotiations due to the sanctions placed on the club by the UK Government.
However, they will be allowed to complete deals when the takeover bid is officially confirmed and accepted.
According to Spanish outlet Sport.es, the West London club want to sign Dest and Neto in exchange for Azpilicueta and Alonso.
The two Blues are both said to be keen on a move to Camp Nou.
The club have reportedly agreed a deal with Azpilicueta which would see him earn around £11million per-season.
Meanwhile, Xavi also wants bring in Alonso.
Nine players are expected to leave Barcelona this summer, including Dest and Neto. Both are currently surplus to requirements, so the club will likely be open to a move. Frenkie de Jong and Memphis Depay are also on the list of potential departures.
Conte might quit Spurs unless they splash out
Ex-Tottenham and Chelsea midfielder Gus Poyet reckons Spurs boss Antonio Conte might quit unless he’s allowed to spend big this summer.
Conte’s fifth-placed team will leapfrog Arsenal if they win tomorrow night’s Prem derby at home.
But Uruguay legend Poyet told Boyle Sports: “I think if he isn’t promised transfers in the summer window, he could leave.
“Everyone was talking about Conte and PSG last summer and it seemed they weren’t ready for each-other, so why now?
“The situation with PSG and Conte is strange for many reasons as they do not play like Unai Emery or Mauricio Pochettino.
“But maybe he’s what they need to get their special trophy that they’re looking for.
“The two teams that need it the most are PSG and Man City and they cannot get it.”
New director promises Boehly bonanza on transfers
Todd Boehly is set to splash the cash this summer at Chelsea once his £4.25billion takeover of the club is completed, writes JAKE LAMBOURNE.
That is the promise of incoming director Daniel Finkelstein, who will be part of the Blues‘ board once the takeover goes through.

American billionaire Boehly and his consortium have agreed a £4.25bn deal to buy the club from Russian owner Roman Abramovich.
The 46-year-old’s team consists of billionaires Mark Walter, Hansjorg Wyss and investment firm Clearlake Capital.
In a statement, Chelsea said the deal is “expected to complete in late May subject to all necessary regulatory approvals”.
Chelsea’s proposed £4.25bn takeover is set to be more than DOUBLE the record for the most expensive in sporting history.
Boehly was in attendance at Stamford Bridge on Saturday to watch the club draw 2-2 against Wolves as Conor Coady scored a dramatic 97th minute equaliser.
And it appears that he is aware that the West London outfit need strengthening, with the likes of Cesar Azpilicueta, Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger all set to depart as free agents.
Callum and Nketiah tipped for Ghana switch
Callum Hudson-Odoi and Eddie Nketiah are set to switch from England to Ghana before the winter’s 2022 World Cup.
That is according to Football London, who claim that the two players have been convinced to link up with the African nation, for which they are eligible to play.
Arsenal ace Nketiah, 22, leads the Three Lions’ Under-21 all-time scoring list with 16 goals in 17 appearances but has never competed for the senior team.
Chelsea star Hudson-Odoi, 21, on the other hand, has registered three senior caps. They all came in 2019 when Gareth Southgate dealt with an injury crisis.
A Fifa rule change in 2020 allows players with no more than three international appearances to change their allegiance if those caps came before their 21st birthday.
Therefore, both players can complete the move, which would boost their hopes of playing in the winter’s World Cup in Qatar
    Jes the ticket
Manchester United ace Jesse Lingard, whose contract runs out in June, has priced himself out of a transfer to Newcastle.
The Magpies pushed hard to sign Lingard on loan in January, only to be scared off by United’s £16million loan fee.
The Toon have subsequently been touted as a logical potential free agent destination for the midfielder.
According to the Telegraph, however, the England international has scared them off with his financial demands.
They claim that the 29-year-old wants in excess of £150,000-a-week at his next team
    Transfer Dor closing
Borussia Dortmund have claimed they can “win the fight for Jude Bellingham” despite interest from Manchester United and Liverpool.
Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke believes they can keep Bellingham after losing Erling Haaland to Manchester City despite rumours linking him to United and the Reds.
Watzke told CNN: “That’s the only way for us because when a player performs very well, we have to fight against the big, big, big clubs with the oligarchs and the Arabian states at their back. And this fight we cannot win.
“But we can win a fight over an 18-year-old player, like Jude Bellingham, because this player loves to play at Borussia Dortmund because we have always 80,000 spectators, it’s a very good atmosphere and the club knows how to manage young players.
“That’s our way and, OK, we have a good department who are scouting young players every day, but it’s also very important if you have the player here, you must develop him and I think that works… most of the time, it works”

West Ham star Declan Rice will turn down the Hammers’ offer of an eight-year deal believing it would be crazy to commit the majority of his career to the club, reports SunSport’s Duncan Wright.
The East Londoners have tabled a £200,000-a-week offer for Rice taking him through until 2030.

According to Napoli Piu, the Gunners are the “most interested” in signing Ruiz, who has also attracted attention from elsewhere.
The Partenopei have set an initial price tag of £34m for the midfielder due to his contract situation.
The Spain international has one year remaining on his current contract, meaning his value will likely decrease if he is not sold in the next window – and in 12 months he will be available for free.
The report also suggests that the Serie A outfit could even be persuaded to drop the price by around £3.4m to facilitate a move
    More from Jesus agent
Arsenal are targeting Manchester City star Gabriel Jesus ahead of the summer transfer window.
But the Gunners are facing competition from six other teams, who are also interested in Jesus.
That is according to the centre-forward’s agent Marcelo Pettinati, who also admitted his client likes the project at the Emirates.
Pettinati added: “There are six more clubs interested in Gabriel – he’s focused on final games with Man City, we’ll see”
    Gabriel Jesus confirmation
Manchester City star Gabriel Jesus’ agent has confirmed transfer talks with Arsenal, admitting his client likes the club’s project.

Pettinati told transfer expert Fabrizio Romano: “We had talks with Arsenal about Gabriel Jesus, we like the project – it’s a possibility we’re discussing”
