Todd Boehly’s ‘£200m’ war chest for transfers, Blues ‘prepare’ Nkunku bid, Lampard plotting Chelsea raid – updates

CHELSEA’S wait of new ownership is set to FINALLY come to an end with the UK government and the Premier League approving Todd Boehly’s bid.Secretary of state for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Nadine Dorries said: “We are satisfied the proceeds of the sale will not benefit Roman Abramovich or other sanctioned individuals.”
LA Dodgers owner Boehly, 48, will take the reins and has reportedly promised a £200 million war chest for Thomas Tuchel to have access to this summer.
And some of that money could go towards the signing of RB Leipzig star Christopher Nkunku who Chelsea are heavily linked to.
However, the Blues could be raided by legend Frank Lampard who reportedly hopes to bring some of Chelsea’s stars to Everton.

JT vs Rio: ‘Stats don’t lie’
John Terry has claimed the “stats don’t lie” after Rio Ferdinand only labelled him as the fifth-best centre-back in Premier League history.
The Chelsea icon is regarded by many as one of the greatest defenders in the Prem era, winning the title on five occasions.

Ferdinand though put THREE Manchester United centre-backs ahead of old England colleague Terry, including himself.
The Old Trafford hero was debating the best central defenders of the Prem era with Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk for BT Sport.
And Ferdinand put himself in top spot, followed by team-mate Nemanja Vidic, Van Dijk at third, Jaap Stam fourth and Terry fifth.
Van Dijk meanwhile omitted himself and put Ferdinand top too, followed by Vincent Kompany, Stam, Terry and Sami Hyypia.
One man though who didn’t agree was Stamford Bridge stalwart Terry.
Taking to his Instagram story Terry posted a picture that contained a variety of stats to back him up.
They included captains with most Prem titles and centre-backs with the highest winning percentage in Prem history.
Both of which were topped by Terry, who captioned the post “opinions are great but the stats don’t lie”.
    Toon and Hammers eye Armando
Striker Armando Broja is wanted by Newcastle and West Ham after his loan joy with Southampton.
The 12-cap Albanian, 20, is being eyed by several clubs after following a season on loan at Vitesse with regular Prem football for the Saints this term
Goal say Goal, the Hammers and the Magpies are amongst the frontrunners for the Slough-born starlet.
But Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is believed to be open to Braja returning to Stamford Bridge next season.
Blow for Prem giants as Dembele is set for PSG
Chelsea have been dealt a transfer blow as Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele could join Paris Saint-Germain, reports suggest.
AS say Dembele – previously linked to Manchester United and Arsenal -has rejected a new Barca contract offer to leave on a free transfer next month.

The forward has been linked with the Blues, who are looking to add some firepower up front after Todd Boehly’s takeover is officially completed.
However, the 25-year-old looks set to return to France for PSG ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Blaugrana tried to sell Dembele in January to avoid losing their second most expensive signing of all time for free at the end of the season.
But the Frenchman stayed put and played an important role in the team’s dramatic improvement, which saw them finish second in LaLiga.
The Catalan giants were hoping to convince the striker to stay by signing his friend Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Arsenal.
Barcelona manager Xavi also sang his praises continuously and expressed his desire to keep him. However, Dembele, who joined Barca from Borussia Dortmund for a whopping £138million in 2017, will be leaving next month.
Inter offer Chelsea target Perisic new deal
Chelsea transfer target Ivan Perisic has been offered a new deal to stay at Inter Milan.
The Croatian star has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge on a free transfer when his current contract with the Nerazzurri expires next month.
However, the Serie A side are desperate to keep the 33-year-old, and have tabled an improved £5m-per-season proposal, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Perisic is understood to be considering his options with Tottenham also interested in the two-footed midfielder.
    Dembele rejects new Barca deal
Ousmane Dembele has rejected a new contract offer from Barcelona and looks set to join Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer.
The French international signed for the LaLiga club from Borussia Dortmund in 2017 for a whopping €105m, but saw much of his time in Spain blighted by injuries.
In five years at the Nou Camp, Dembele has managed 150 appearances for Barca, scoring 32 goals and providing 34 assists.
The news of Dembele’s return to France will come as a blow to Chelsea, who had been hoping to tempt the 25-year-old into a move to Stamford Bridge.

    Boehly to hand Tuchel £200m
New Chelsea owner Todd Boehly will provide Thomas Tuchel with £200m for new players after completing his takeover at Stamford Bridge, report The Mail.
However, ‘vast chunks’ of that war chest is expected to be used to recruit new defenders.
Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger have already confirmed their departures from the club, and Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta are expected to follow suit
As we reported this week, a deal for Sevilla Jules Kounde is nearing completion – although the LaLiga club are holding out for the player’s release fee of £81m to be met.
Elsewhere, the Blues are also interested in Villarreal’s Pau Torres – a target for Manchester United – and Leicester’s Wesley Fofana.
    Rejuvenated Lampard plotting Chelsea raid
Frank Lampard is planning a return to former club Chelsea this summer in order to snap up some of their hottest young talent.
The Everton boss, buoyed by his side avoiding relegation, wants to inject youth and ambition into his ageing squad, and has targeted a number players that he previously worked with at Stamford Bridge.
The Liverpool Echo have speculated on which youngsters could be tempted by a reunion with Lampard, and suggest that Armando Broja, Conor Gallagher, Levi Colwill, Ethan Ampadu and Billy Gilmour all fit the bill.
Lampard has built a reputation for bringing youngsters through during his fledgling managerial career, and can be considered a major factor for the current success enjoyed by Mason Mount and Reece James.
    Johnson keen on Perisic interest
Former Chelsea full-back Glen Johnson would welcome his old club bringing in Ivan Perisic on a free transfer.
The 33-year-old Croatian is viewed as an upgrade on Marcos Alonso, and could be the ideal candidate to share left wing-back duties with Ben Chilwell should he move to the Londoners.
In conversation with Bettingodds.com, Johnson admitted he would be thrilled to see Perisic join the Blues.
“Yes, absolutely. It would represent a smart bit of business. He’s another top player who can play in a few positions,” he said.
“If Alonso’s going to leave the club and you can bring in a player like him on a free, who can play in a couple of positions, then it sounds like a no brainer.”
    Target offered new Inter deal
Chelsea transfer target Ivan Perisic has been offered a new deal to stay at Inter Milan.
The Croatian star has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge on a free transfer when his current contract with the Nerazzurri expires next month.
However, the Serie A side are desperate to keep the 33-year-old, and have tabled an improved £5m-per-season proposal, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Perisic is understood to be considering his options with Tottenham also interested in the two-footed midfielder.

    Good morning Chelsea fans
Todd Boehly’s £4.25bn takeover now has Government and Premier League approval, meaning new signings aren’t too far away.
Jules Kounde tops the shortlist of defenders, and the Sevilla man would slot straight in on the right hand side of a back-three if he is recruited.
Personal terms have already been agreed and the Frenchman is only waiting for Chelsea, reports say.
Meanwhile on the other side the left-footed Josko Gvardiol is an option, having impressed at RB Leipzig.
Marcos Alonso, Andreas Christensen and captain Cesar Azpilicueta are on their way to Barcelona, while Thiago Silva is at the advanced age of 37.
Chelsea are also “ready to launch a bid” for RB Leipzig forward Christopher Nkunku, claim reports.
Chelsea have been handed a major transfer boost as Barcelona boss Xavi admitted Ousmane Dembele may have played his last game for the club against Villarreal.
    Blues Possible XI
Todd Boehly’s £4.25bn takeover now has Government and Premier League approval, meaning new signings aren’t too far away, writes Giacomo Pisa..

Meanwhile on the other side the left-footed Josko Gvardiol is an option, having impressed at RB Leipzig.
And in attack the Blues are claimed to be plotting an ambitious raid for Manchester City star Raheem Sterling.
The 27-year-old is out of contract at the Etihad at the end of next season, and is an option if Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech or Christian Pulisic depart.
There could be a fresh face in midfield too.
West Ham midfielder Declan Rice is highly thought of, but his £150m price-tag is likely to price the Blues out of a move.
Monaco man Aurelien Tchouameni is an alternative, and is admired by those in high places at Stamford Bridge.
A midfield duo of Tchouameni and Mateo Kovacic would be likely to strike fear into the hearts of any Premier League side.
Especially with English duo Reece James and Ben Chilwell marauding down the wings either side of them.
    Arms race for Broja
Chelsea loanee Armando Broja is at the centre of a transfer war between Newcastle and West Ham.
Broja impressed with a series of impressive displays at Southampton and has attracted the attention of other clubs before the summer window.
According to Goal, the Hammers and the Magpies are attempting to sign the forward during the summer.
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is believed to be open to the Albania international returning to Stamford Bridge next season.

    Chelsea’s summer spending
Thomas Tuchel will be chomping at the bit for Chelsea to spring into life in the transfer market – and he doesn’t have long left to wait writes Giacomo Pisa.
Todd Boehly’s £4.25bn takeover now has Government and Premier League approval, meaning new signings aren’t too far away.
Reports suggest Boehly is eager to back Tuchel in the upcoming window and will give the German around £200m to play with.
Chelsea are even said to have drawn up an EIGHT-MAN centre-back shortlist to cope with the departures of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.
It’s expected to be a busy summer of incomings and outgoings at Stamford Bridge, and Tuchel’s line up could be very different come the start of the new season.
    Last Gall for Conor?
Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira has refused to rule out a transfer for Chelsea loanee Conor Gallagher.
Vieira said of Gallagher, who is set to return to Stamford Bridge after the end of the season: “Conor has been fantastic for us.
“He felt like he is at home the way he has been performing for us. He understands the way that we want to play the game, and he brings his energy and his determination.
“We know that he has to go back to Chelsea. Then, what will happen? We don’t know”

    Chelsea in for Nkunku
Chelsea are “ready to launch a bid” for RB Leipzig forward Christopher Nkunku, claim reports.
GOAL report that Chelsea sense a chance to get their man.
Nkunku was named Bundesliga’s Player of the Season.
The 24-year-old attacking midfielder has been constantly linked with a move to United, who sent scouts to watch him in action in April.
United’s pursuit was given a boost when it was reported that the France international was open to a Premier League switch.
And now it appears the Blues have joined the race to sign Nkunku.
    Go for it
Former Chelsea ace Glen Johnson advised his former club to try and beat Barcelona for Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski.
Johnson told Betting Odds: “In terms of the player himself, then yes. But business-wise, what that might do to [Romelu] Lukaku, if he’s not playing where’s he going to go, how much is he going to be worth.
“They bought him for an awful lot of money. But at the same time, if they give him another six months and he doesn’t perform, then they might miss out on the top four. It’s a tough one.
“While Lewandowski is available on the free, I think you have to try and sign him.”

    Jules Kounde situation
Chelsea’s approved takeover is a major boost in their longtime bid to sign Sevilla star Jules Kounde.
The Blues are in desperate need of defensive reinforcement after losing Antonio Rudiger to Real Madrid.
Marcos Alonso, Andreas Christensen and captain Cesar Azpilicueta are on their way to Barcelona, while Thiago Silva is at the advanced age of 37.
Transfer guru Andreas Korssund tweeted: “Jules Kounde is closing in on a move to Chelsea.
“The Blues will conclude talks with Sevilla as soon as Boehly’s takeover is complete and they are ready to pay the required fee.
“Personal terms have already been agreed and the Frenchman is only waiting for Chelsea”

    Juve not so keen
Juventus aren’t planning to “spend big” for Chelsea star Jorginho ahead of the summer transfer window.
That is according to Fabrizio Romano, who reports that Juve are prioritising moves for Angel Di Maria and Paul Pogba over the 30-year-old.
The midfielder’s future at Stamford Bridge has become uncertain amid the ongoing takeover process.
The Italy international’s contract expires next year and rumours suggested he is keen on a return to the Serie A
    Xav some of that
Chelsea have been handed a major transfer boost as Barcelona boss Xavi admitted Ousmane Dembele may have played his last game for the club against Villarreal.
According to Get Football News Spain, the Spanish tactician said: “It could be his last game, but it could also be the last game for others.
“I like him and he can help us in the future. It depends on the negotiations.”
The Blues have been linked with the forward ahead of the summer transfer window

    Nadine Dorries statement
Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Nadine Dorries stated that the Government is satisfied the proceeds from Chelsea’s sale won’t go to outgoing owner Roman Abramovich.
Dorries tweeted: “Last night the Government issued a licence that permits the sale of [Chelsea].
“Given the sanctions we placed on those linked to [Vladimir] Putin and the bloody invasion of Ukraine, the long-term future of the club can only be secured under a new owner.
“We are satisfied the proceeds of the sale will not benefit Roman Abramovich or other sanctioned individuals.
“I want to thank everyone, especially officials who’ve worked tirelessly to keep the club playing and enable this sale, protecting fans and the wider football community”

    Mount of a task
Arsenal ace Nuno Tavares has claimed that Chelsea star Mason Mount is the toughest opponent he has faced while at the Gunners.
Speaking about his most tricky opponent on the Counter Attack YouTube channel, Tavares said: “Mason Mount of Chelsea.
“I think the positions, he knows the place he should be to make people feel uncomfortable and with the ball he has too much quality.

Chelsea star Mason Mount is set to receive a new deal after Todd Boehly’s takeover.

The forward, who is reportedly on around £80,000-per-week, is expected to have his wages at least doubled under a new agreement that will be permitted once the takeover is officially completed.

Chelsea are set to offer £17million for Juventus star Adrien Rabiot ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Blues are eyeing a cut-price fee for Rabiot, according to Tuttosport.
N’Golo Kante and Jorginho only have one-year left on their contracts themselves, meaning midfield reinforcements may be necessary at Stamford Bridge.
But money-bags Newcastle could rival the West Londoners to the signing of the France international.

Roma are UEFA Conference League winners
Jose Mourinho has taken his Roma side to European silverware.
For the first time since 2008, the Giallorossi are champions.
The parties will go long into the night for the fans.

    Bringing the good times back
The project Mourinho signed up to at Roma was to get the club back to where it should be, not only in Italy but European football.
Back to the days where they were playing in European Cup finals, narrowly losing to a Liverpool side arguably the best side in Europe at that time.
Nobody expected him to bring silverware so soon.
Jose is ahead of schedule here,

    Are you not entertained?
Jose Mourinho will be known up and down the streets of Rome as ‘Quella Speciale’ after this victory in the final tonight.
The club hadn’t won a trophy for fourteen years and the Portuguese manager has brought glory back to the Italian capital.
Players and staff celebrate with their travelling fans.

    FT: Roma 1-0 Feyenoord
    Roma are Conference League champions!!!
Jose Mourinho has extended his perfect European final record.
Finally the Italians have the silverware they craved for so long.

    Roma 1-0 Feyenoord
90+4. Even the Feyenoord keeper was up for that corner.
That creates problems when Roma clear the ball and Feyenoord struggle to deal with it and get back on the front foot.
Roma are boxing their opponents into their own half.
Spinazzola is booked for dive trying to win a free kick.
    Roma 1-0 Feyenoord
90+2. Roma are defending deep now.
They have no interest in going forward.
All committed to keeping the Dutch side out.
For one of the first times in the second half Smalling loses a flick on and Linssen does not react to sweep home.
    Roma 1-0 Feyenoord
    90. We won’t see much attacking from a Mourinho side at this point.
He knows all they have to do is to hold on to what they have.
Drawing in fouls, going to ground, running the clock down.
It looks like we are going to have an additional five minutes of added time, your guess is as good as mine as to where that has come from.
    Roma 1-0 Feyenoord
    88. Abraham is pulled down on the halfway line.
The referee succumbs to Mourinho’s wishes and awards a free kick.
Roma looking to run the clock down as much as they can now.
    Roma 1-0 Feyenoord
    86. Roma with a rare counter attack.
The ball is threaded into the box to Pellegrini.
He shoots at goal but the Feyenoord keeper is equal to it.
That would have been the trophy won right there.

    Roma 1-0 Feyenoord
    84. Roma are starting to look dead on their feet.
Always baffles me when we see this as a final is still the 90 minutes they are conditioned to play for every day of their professional lives.
Patricio is playing pass the parcel with the ball until the referee blows his whistle to pass it around again.
    Roma 1-0 Feyenoord
    82. Zaniolo is the only out-ball for Roma now.
Abraham is coming so deep to defend that there is a lack of options in front of the defence for any counter attack.
Dessers has another chance but his shot is blocked yet again by Chris Smalling.
Sinisterra gets a shot away from outside of the box but it is straight at Rui Patricio.
    Roma 1-0 Feyenoord
    80. Another player who has blossomed in Italy is Chris Smalling.
He has bossed Dessers tonight and the tournament’s top scorer has got no change whatsoever out of the centre back.
Some last-ditch defending here by Mourinho’s side.
    Roma 1-0 Feyenoord
    78. Roma are getting a bit anxious in defence.
    Anywhere will do at times.
Feyenoord still trying to unpick the Roma defence.
    Roma 1-0 Feyenoord
    76. This is attack versus defence stuff at the moment.
Feyenoord have all the time in the world to try and find a cross.
Surely the Italians cannot keep this up for the remainder of the game.

    Roma 1-0 Feyenoord
    74. The Dutch side make a final roll of the dice with two substitutions.
They need to find something to create at least one more clean-cut chance in the final 15 minutes of this game.
It is Roma’s job to see that doesn’t happen.
    Roma 1-0 Feyenoord
    72. Feyenoord have completed twice as many passes as Roma in the game to this point.
As is the harsh mistress football can so often be, they still find themselves trailing in the final.
Roma win themselves a corner in front of their fans.
    Roma 1-0 Feyenoord
    70. Feyenoord are trying to stretch Roma on the flanks.
With their pace on the attack they know they can stretch the Italians and get in behind them.
Pellegrini has been quiet for Mourinho’s side in this second half.
    Roma 1-0 Feyenoord
    68. Roma’s turn for a spell in their opponent’s half.
The ball just will not drop for Tammy Abraham to hit it.
His mis-hit shot loops over to the back post and out for a goal kick.
    Roma 1-0 Feyenoord
    66. Roma win their first corner of the second half, much to the delight of their fans behind the goal.
Pellegrini takes the corner which is flicked on at the near post.
Zaniolo tries to hit it and it deflects for a throw in off the Feyenoord defender.

    Roma 1-0 Feyenoord
    64. The travelling Roma fans make themselves heard again.
For all their dominance, Feyenoord cannot find a way through this Italian defensive line.
The Dutch side continue their patient build-up play.
    Roma 1-0 Feyenoord
    62. Arne Slot’s side are dominating this second half.
They just cannot get a meaningful effort on goal.
Roma are getting everything in between the Feyenoord players and their goal.
If they do manage to get past that Patricio is proving quite the obstacle.
Roma 1-0 Feyenoord – Dessers chance!
    60. We are into the final thirty minutes of this final……maybe.
Dessers seemingly is through on goal and just as he is about to get a shot away, Ibanez comes from nowhere to block the shot.
Roma are defending like armies of old here.
    Roma 1-0 Feyenoord
    58. Feyenoord are constantly knocking on the door here.
They realise without a goal they are dead and buried.
Smalling puts his body on the line again to block a shot from the Dutch side.
    Roma 1-0 Feyenoord
    56. The whole point of video technology was to leave us with less talking points at the end of the game.
We seem to have more and more.
Slot has got his team playing as a more fluid entity, looking more like the side who have impressed in the previous rounds.

    Roma 1-0 Feyenoord
    54. Feyenoord are coming forward with pace and purpose more and more often now.
Roma are struggling to cope with the attacks.
Going back to the Abraham foul, it surely should have been a red card for the Feyenoord defender at the very least there.
    Big talking point.

    Youri Tielemans boost
Arsenal received a major transfer boost in their bid to sign Leicester star Youri Tielemans.
According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, Tielemans is “keen” on a move to the Emirates.
The midfielder has stood out at the King Power Stadium this season and has been linked with a move away.
Manchester United and Real Madrid are also said to be interested in the Belgium international.
    Tammy Abraham boost
Roma star Tammy Abraham is keen to return to London amid links with Arsenal.
According to Metro, Abraham would be keen to return to the capital following his stint with Chelsea.
The striker has enjoyed a stellar debut campaign with the Giallorossi and has amassed 27 goals as well as five assists in 52 matches across all competitions.
That has led to interest from the North Londoners, according to Football London.

Nketiah given a final contract offer, say reports
Arsenal have made Eddie Nketiah a final contract offer to keep him at the Emirates Stadium, writes Alex Smith.
The Daily Mail are reporting that there is growing confidence that Nketiah will stay at the club despite increasing interest from West Ham and Crystal Palace.
The striker had reportedly rejected the chance to extend his current deal, which is up this summer.
But having enjoyed a run in the starting XI at the end of the season, he may now have been convinced to stay.

Mikel Arteta is supposedly a big fan of Nketiah and with Alexandre Lacazette leaving the club there is a chance he continues as first choice striker next season.
The 22-year-old started eight league games for the Gunners this campaign scoring five goals.
    No says Sal
Arsenal loanee William Saliba has yet again reiterated his desire to stay at Marseille after helping the club secure Champions League football.
Quoted by GFFN after Marseille’s 4-0 win against Strasbourg, Saliba said: “I want to come back and play the Champions’ League.
“I have never played in it and I want to discover it here.”
Speaking earlier this month, the defender labelled L’OM as “my club” as declared it would be his “pleasure” to stay.
    Sali-back says Arteta
Despite William Saliba not wanting to return to Arsenal, boss Mikel Arteta wants him BACK.
Arteta is now finally keen to integrate his young star into his Arsenal defence.
He told RMC: “William Saliba has to come back. He has the experience to be competitive with us. We sent him to Marseille for his growth.”
“William wanted to be regular starter as you know but now we want him back at Arsenal.”
Saliba’s impressive season with Marseille led to him being named as the Ligue 1 Young Player of the Year.
The move to the south of France was the third loan deal Arsenal have arranged for Saliba since signing him, following stints at Saint-Etienne and Nice.

    Van Persie helps Nelson
Arsenal legend Robin van Persie has been helping his former club out by giving Feyenoord loanee Reiss Nelson tips.
Nelson told The Athletic: “Yeah, I speak with him.
“Sometimes he comes over on a Wednesday, before Europa Conference League games on a Thursday.
“I ask him about what positions I need to be getting in. Certain movements I need to be doing, certain finishes.
“He’s amazing. He makes it so much simpler for you to understand. Sometimes the ball will come inside, and you go to smash it.
“He’s just like, ‘Look, make sure you get [good] contact, make sure your body is this way, make sure you just want to hit it into the corner’”

The Gunners have been linked with a move to bring Osimhen to the Emirates with Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah set to depart in June as free agents.
According to Calciomercato, the Partenopei have rejected the North Londoners’ bid as they hold out for more money.

    Premier League’s Fab Five
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has revealed the five teams he believes will be fighting it out for the Premier League title next season – and it excludes Arsenal.
Tuchel said: “It will be a super tough race. Manchester United will be in the race, Tottenham will be in the race with Antonio Conte for sure, and we want to stay in the race.
“And Liverpool and Man City will do everything to even make their squads bigger.
“They set the standard so, so high and it will take the same to be competitive next season.
“While like everybody else tries to close the gap to us…the two top teams are what they are, a benchmark of consistency.
“That’s the situation and from there on we do our very best to be competitive because this is what we want to be”

    Salah and Mane tip
Former Liverpool ace David James wouldn’t be surprised if Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane left Anfield.
James told Genting Casino: “With Salah, I’d like to think Salah stays at Liverpool. He’s won the Golden Boot again and I’d want him to stay because he’s a massive contributor to Liverpool’s success.
“There comes a point in every player’s career, and with Salah and Mane, who have travelled all over the world, it’s in their DNA to move on at some point.
“When is the right time? I’d like to think he’d get a new contract at Liverpool, he’s a legend at Liverpool and a legend in football – and what better place to finish your career?
“Both Salah and Mane have been required at different stages of the season. It’s a great team, it’s not about just one individual. Everyone is chipping in.
“Again, the two of them are travellers in a footballing sense, therefore it wouldn’t be surprising to see them leave, but I’d like to think they’d want to stay and see their careers out at Liverpool”

    Mane contract on hold
Sadio Mane has refused to be drawn on his future.
The Senegal international has one year left on his contract at Anfield and talks over a new deal has yet to bear fruit.
Mane has refused to pledge his long-term future to the club, telling Sky Sports: “I will answer this question after the Champions League.”
The former Southampton ace will hold talks with the Liverpool brass before deciding his next move.
The 30-year-old said: “There will be new discussions at the end of the season. I’ll answer after [the] Champions League final.”

    Longstaff signs new Toon contract
Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff has signed a new three-year deal.

    Lingard of honour
Marcus Rashford was spotted leaving a swanky restaurant in Los Angeles with Jesse Lingard on Wednesday.
The pair may have been tucking into a farewell meal for Lingard who is set to leave United on a free transfer this summer.
Lingard’s contract at Old Trafford is set to expire in the summer and the winger has no intention of penning a new deal with the Red Devils.
The winger could remain in the Premier League with West Ham keen on giving him a new home following his successful loan spell in East London during the second half of the 2020/21 season.
    Salah to STAY
Mohamed Salah has confirmed he won’t leave Liverpool in the summer, wires Chisanga Malata.
Kop favourite Salah has eased the club’s fears of a summer departure by insisting: “I’m staying next season for sure.”
Although right now, exacting revenge on Carlo Ancelotti’s troops – whom they lost to in the 2018 final – is Salah’s sole focus.
He added: “I don’t focus on the contract at the moment. It’s about the team.
“It’s a really important week for us. I want to win the CL again.
“I want to see Hendo [Jordan Henderson] with that trophy in his hands again.”
    Frenkie moving Jong
Barcelona have confirmed they have received multiple bids for Frenkie de Jong, with Manchester United believed to be among them.
Barca president Joan Laporta told L’Esportiu: “Frenkie de Jong? Yes, we have received proposals.
“But he has great quality, we think he should continue at Barca.
“Selling players? Right now, everything is open. In this case will depend a lot on the issue of [financial] fair play.”
Paris Saint-Germain are also supposedly in for De Jong after Manchester City distanced themselves
    Youri Tielemans boost
Arsenal received a transfer boost in their bid to sign Leicester star Youri Tielemans.
According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, Tielemans is “keen” on a move to the Gunners.
The talented midfielder has stood out at the King Power Stadium this season and has been linked with a move away.
Manchester United and Real Madrid are also said to be keeping tabs on the Belgium international
    Erling Haaland effect
Liverpool legend John Barnes believes Erling Haaland may affect Manchester City’s game.
Barnes told  William Hill: “With Haaland coming to City, will they have to play differently? If Haaland scores goals, other players will score less goals. At Liverpool you’ve got [Sadio] Mane scoring goals, [Mohamed] Salah scoring goals, but if you’ve got the midfield scoring goals they score 500 goals – it doesn’t work that way. If the midfield players at Liverpool scored goals, Mane and Salah would score less goals.
“When Haaland plays, he may score a lot of goals, but the others won’t score goals. It doesn’t mean that all of a sudden that because he plays, City are going to add on the goals they score and he’s going to score another 50. It doesn’t work that way.
“Secondly, the way they play may be different and the way they play now is such a comprehensive way of playing against teams. With Haaland they’ll play differently. I love Haaland, he’s a great player, he’ll give them that strength in the box, but in terms of their build-up play, their hold-up play and everything else, maybe they’ll lose something”
    Go for it
Former Chelsea ace Glen Johnson advised his former club to try and beat Barcelona for Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski.

    What’s next for Chelsea?
The Premier League and UK government have agreed to Chelsea’s £4.25billion takeover by Todd Boehly’s consortium.
However, since outgoing owner Roman Abramovich also has a Portuguese passport the Portuguese government needs assurances and the same goes for the European Union.
The aforementioned need to be convinced that Abramovich will not benefit in any way out of the sale of the club following Russia’s unjust invasion of Ukraine and his alleged ties with president Vladimir Putin.
Therefore, the takeover is not yet completed and the Blues are thus still not allowed to sell tickets, buy players or issue new contracts.
But they’re very close to completing the procedure
    Man to Man
Ex-Manchester City ace David James has advised West Ham star Declan Rice to choose a move to the Etihad instead of Manchester United.
James told Genting Casino: “The West Ham fan in me wants Declan Rice to stay there forever, we want to see scenes like Mark Noble leaving West Ham at the London Stadium.
“There’s talk about Manchester United, but the way Declan Rice plays, he could play Fernandinho’s role at Man City. If he had a choice of Man City or Man United, it’s a no-brainer, you go to Man City.
“He’s a fantastic player, he’s young, it looks like he wants to learn, he’s a regular England international, he ticks all the boxes for a team challenging for titles as opposed to one challenging for Europa League spots”
    Why would he?
Former Manchester City ace David James questioned why Gabriel Jesus would choose Arsenal over the Citizens.
James told Genting Casino: “If you look at Man City players’ appearances this season, Bernardo Silva and Rodri have played 30-plus Premier League games, but all the players in that attacking line-up have played around 25 games, so they’re not playing every week.
“Pep [Guardiola’s] rotation has worked perfectly in the sense that they won the Premier League again. I’d imagine [Erling] Haaland would fit into that mold, he’s not going to play every game. Also, with his injuries, there are question marks over whether he is physically capable of playing all the games.
“That being said, Jesus will have a shared role if he stays at Manchester City. This isn’t a buy-a-player-and-use-him-all-the-time situation, so there is still room for Jesus and why would he want to leave?
“You’ve got the best team in England over the past five years, so would he risk it by moving somewhere else to Arsenal, who aren’t even in the Champions League, or would he rather stay at Man City and try to get the Holy Grail, which is the Champions League?”
    Touch of class
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been praised for his “classy” moment with legendary Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson at the League Managers Association awards.
Klopp was named the LMA Manager of the Year by his peers and awarded the Sir Alex Ferguson Trophy.
Fergie was in attendance to deliver the trophy and tried to quickly exit the stage after handing it to the German head coach.
But Klopp immediately pulled him back so they could have their photo taken together
Klopp goes viral for touching moment with Man Utd legend Sir Alex Ferguson after he receives LMA award
    Liverpool’s Bowen link
Former Liverpool and West Ham ace David James questions the Reds’ link with Hammers’ ace Jarrod Bowen.
James told Genting Casino: “This season he’s been fantastic. With regards to the recruitment, Liverpool would be looking at more than just a one-season hit.
“If Bowen is a legitimate target for this summer’s transfer window then that would be questionable, but if he was to continue this kind of form, then I’m sure Liverpool will keep tabs on him.
“Like the signing of Diaz, he wasn’t the first name on people’s radar. He’s come in, proved he’s a Liverpool player and then they go and get the signing.
“With Liverpool, loads of players are going to be linked and I’d imagine most of the time it’s agents linking them rather than a club pursuing them, but Bowen will definitely be on Liverpool’s radar”
    Salah and Mane tip
Former Liverpool ace David James wouldn’t be surprised if Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane left Anfield.
James told Genting Casino: “With Salah, I’d like to think Salah stays at Liverpool [and ignores Real Madrid’s interest]. He’s won the Golden Boot again and I’d want him to stay because he’s a massive contributor to Liverpool’s success.
“There comes a point in every player’s career, and with Salah and Mane, who have travelled all over the world, it’s in their DNA to move on at some point. When is the right time? I’d like to think he’d get a new contract at Liverpool, he’s a legend at Liverpool and a legend in football – and what better place to finish your career?
“Both Salah and Mane have been required at different stages of the season. It’s a great team, it’s not about just one individual. Where Liverpool were failing was when the onus was on one individual to get the team out of trouble, whereas now, you can talk about Alisson, [Virgil] Van Dijk, [Jordan] Henderson, Thiago [Alcantara], Salah and Mane – everyone is chipping in.
“Again, the two of them are travellers in a footballing sense, therefore it wouldn’t be surprising to see them leave, but I’d like to think they’d want to stay and see their careers out at Liverpool”

    Haa-s to improve
Former Manchester City ace David James insists Erling Haaland needs to improve his game ahead of his Etihad arrival.
James told Genting Casino: “You could argue Haaland will improve Man City’s situation when it comes to the Champions League.
“There are bits around Haaland’s performance that need to considerably improve. He’s a fantastic goalscorer, without question, but it’s the way he scores goals that needs to be improved. It’s where he scores goals that need to be improved, he scores most of his goals at home.
“When you think about the Champions League and the crunch matches that aren’t at home, there will be areas for improvement. He’s 21 and under Pep, you could argue he’ll become better. If he becomes better then, of course, Man City will be in a better place to win the Champions League”
    Adrien Rabiot race
Chelsea and Newcastle are set to offer £17million for Juventus star Adrien Rabiot ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Blues and the Magpies are eyeing a cut-price fee for Rabiot, according to Tuttosport.
N’Golo Kante and Jorginho only have one-year left on their contracts themselves, meaning midfield reinforcements may be necessary for the West Londoners.
And the Toon money-bags are looking to rival Premier League’s elite next season
    Bastoni transfer war
Chelsea and Tottenham are keeping tabs on Inter Milan ace Alessandro Bastoni ahead of the summer transfer window.
That is according to La Repubblica, who claim the London rivals are interested in Bastoni, who played under Spurs manager Antonio Conte at Inter.
It is believed the Nerazurri’s financial issues are still at large and the club are hoping to sacrifice only one player this time around.
The centre-back is valued at £60m by the Italian giants
    Mount’s new contract
Chelsea star Mason Mount is set to receive a new deal after Todd Boehly’s takeover.
According to i, Mount will be the first player to benefit from the Blues’ new owners.
The forward, who is reportedly on around £80,000-per-week, is expected to have his wages at least doubled under a new agreement that will be permitted once the takeover is officially completed.

    It’s still Ron
New Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed that club legend Cristiano Ronaldo is part of his plans for next season.
Ronaldo’s future has been uncertain for quite a few months and there were questions as to whether Ten Hag was planning to hold onto him in his squad.
But the Dutch tactician has put all the speculation to rest after being asked if he wants the five-time Ballon d’Or winner to stay around: “Of course!”
Ten Hag was then asked what Ronaldo brings, to which he responded “goals”.
    Boehly’s war chest
New Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is set to hand manager Thomas Tuchel a £200million transfer war chest this summer.
According to the Telegraph, some of the budget is expected to come from player sales, meaning Hakim Ziyech, Christian Pulisic, Marcos Alonso and Timo Werner could all be flogged.
It’s claimed the Blues have drawn up an eight-man centre-back shortlist following the departures of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen to Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively.
Sevilla star Jules Kounde is top of that list, while there is also interest in RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol, Atletico Madrid’s Jose Gimenez, Villarreal’s Pau Torres, Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly and Leicester’s James Justin.
In attack Manchester City star Raheem Sterling could be targeted if Werner, Ziyech or Pulisic are sold.
Midfield reinforcements are also possible, with West Ham’s Declan Rice and Monaco’s Aurelien Tchouameni both targeted
    Jules Kounde situation
Chelsea’s approved takeover is a major transfer boost in their longtime bid to sign Sevilla star Jules Kounde.
The Blues are in dire need of defensive reinforcement after losing Antonio Rudiger to Real Madrid.
Marcos Alonso, Andreas Christensen and skipper Cesar Azpilicueta are on their way to Barcelona, while Thiago Silva is at the advanced age of 37.
Transfer expert Andreas Korssund tweeted: “Jules Kounde is closing in on a move to Chelsea.
“The Blues will conclude talks with Sevilla as soon as Boehly’s takeover is complete and they are ready to pay the required fee.
“Personal terms have already been agreed and the Frenchman is only waiting for Chelsea”
    Sadio Mane breakthrough
Liverpool star Sadio Mane has “reached a breakthrough” in talks with Bayern Munich over a stunning transfer move.
According to Sky Sports’ Florian Plettenberg, progress has been made in negotiations between Mane and Bayern over a potential deal.
The Bavarians’ sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic and manager Julian Nagelsmann are preparing to lose Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona.
That is why they want a “statement” signing to replace Lewandowski in the summer.
Plettenberg claims that the next month is now set to be a crucial period for Bayern and their attempt to land the forward

    Tchouameni to Real?
Monaco star Aurelien Tchouameni has been linked with a move to Real Madrid.
That is according to RMCSport, who report that Tchouameni will join Real on a five-year contract for around £60million.
Arsenal and Manchester United appeared to be frontrunners but the midfielder, who has been compared to Paul Pogba, seems to have opted for Los Blancos.
The talented France international has gained attention thanks to a raft of impressive performances in Ligue 1

Speaking about his most tricky opponent on the Counter Attack YouTube channel, Tavares said: “Mason Mount of Chelsea.
“I think the positions, he knows the place he should be to make people feel uncomfortable and with the ball he has too much quality.
“He has goals, you know, so I think Mason Mount”

    Mount’s new contract
Chelsea star Mason Mount is set to receive a new deal after Todd Boehly’s takeover.
According to i, Mount will be the first player to benefit from the Blues’ new owners.
The forward, who is reportedly on around £80,000-per-week, is expected to have his wages at least doubled under a new agreement that will be permitted once the takeover is officially completed.
This comes after the Premier League and UK government approved Boehly’s £4.25billion takeover

    Adrien Rabiot race
Chelsea are set to offer £17million for Juventus star Adrien Rabiot ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Blues are eyeing a cut-price fee for Rabiot, according to Tuttosport.
N’Golo Kante and Jorginho only have one-year left on their contracts themselves, meaning midfield reinforcements may be necessary at Stamford Bridge.
But money-bags Newcastle could rival the West Londoners to the signing of the France international.
The Italy international’s contract expires next year and rumours suggested he is keen on a return to the Serie A
    Arms race for Broja
Chelsea loanee Armando Broja is at the centre of a transfer war between Newcastle and West Ham.
Broja impressed with a series of impressive displays at Southampton and has attracted the attention of other clubs before the summer window.
According to Goal, the Hammers and the Magpies are attempting to sign the forward during the summer.
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is believed to be open to the Albania international returning to Stamford Bridge next season.
But the 20-year-old may have options if he wants more first-team football next season

    Tchouameni says goodbye
Chelsea target Aurelien Tchouameni has said goodbye to his Monaco team-mates, according to journalist Julien Maynard.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, claims Tchouameni is “dreaming” of Real Madrid.
Romano tweeeted: “Aurelien Tchouameni has already communicated to his teammates the intention to join Real Madrid, as per @JulienMaynard. He dreams of Real”
    Go for it
Ex-Chelsea ace Glen Johnson advised his former club to try and beat Barcelona for Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski.
“While Lewandowski is available on the free, I think you have to try and sign him”
    Time to go?
Former Chelsea ace Glen Johnson suggested Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso should be allowed to leave if they wish to.
Johnson told Betting Odds: “Again, I think it all comes down to what the players want.
“I’ve never been a fan of keeping players at clubs that don’t want to be there. It just doesn’t make sense.
“I’m not saying that either of those guys are saying that by the way. They’ve won everything at Chelsea and now they might want to go back home to Spain, closer to their families and let them live their life in the sun for a bit”

    Premier League’s Fab Five
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has revealed the five teams he believes will be fighting it out for the Premier League title next season – and it includes his own club but not Arsenal.
Tuchel said: “It will be a super tough race. Manchester United will be in the race, Tottenham will be in the race with Antonio Conte for sure, and we want to stay in the race.
“And Liverpool and Man City will do everything to even make their squads bigger. They set the standard so, so high and it will take the same to be competitive next season.
“While like everybody else tries to close the gap to us…the two top teams are what they are, a benchmark of consistency. That’s the situation and from there on we do our very best to be competitive because this is what we want to be”
    Mount of a task
Arsenal ace Nuno Tavares has claimed that Chelsea star Mason Mount is the toughest opponent he has faced during his time at the Emirates.
    Tuch and go
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has taken a swipe at Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund by revealing his unique bond with the Blues’ supporters.
Tuchel said: “It’s so nice to have this bond with the fans. I was not famous for that in my last clubs. I don’t know why it’s suddenly like this, but I’m very happy about it.
“This game is a different game with fans, we always said it. It’s a different game.
“If the stadium is empty, half empty or full, we need full stadiums, this makes the game exciting, emotional.
“This creates something you can’t find without them. We are doing this for entertainment, for making our fans happy.
“We are responsible for the spark, energy, and we want to provide a level of energy that they can feel it.
“If you go to the stadium you [want to] feel this team giving everything, playing as a group of friends, not only just employees.
“That’s the challenge. Once we do this the fans are happy and they feel it. This is where we want to continue”

    James on Boehly
Chelsea star Reece James has insisted that the club’s levels of ambition will not change under new owner Todd Boehly.
James told the club’s official website: “It’s been a strange moment for the club with the change in owners.
“It’s going to be different moving forward. The ambition is still going to be the same.
“We’re a massive club in the world and our aim is to win every trophy we can”
    Declan Rice advice
Former West Ham ace David James has advised Chelsea target Declan Rice to join Manchester City.
But money-bags Newcastle could rival the West Londoners to the signing of the France international
    Chelsea target Bastoni
Chelsea are keeping tabs on Inter Milan ace Alessandro Bastoni ahead of the summer transfer window.
That is according to La Repubblica, who claim Tottenham are also interested in Bastoni, who played under manager Antonio Conte at Inter.
It is believed the Nerazurri’s financial issues are still at large and the club are hoping to sacrifice just one player this time around.
The centre-back is valued at £60m and the Blues are desperate for defensive reinforcement after losing Antonio Rudiger to Real Madrid.
Andreas Christensen, Marcos Alonso and captain Cesar Azpilicueta are heading to Barcelona, while Thiago Silva is at the advanced age of 37

    Mount’s new contract
Chelsea star Mason Mount is set to receive a new contract after Todd Boehly’s takeover.
According to i, Mount will be the first player to benefit from the new owners.
The forward, who is reportedly on around £80,000-per-week, is expected to have his salary at least doubled under a new agreement that will be permitted once the takeover is officially completed.
This comes after the Premier League and UK government approved the £4.25billion takeover
    Hazard Eden nowhere
Former Chelsea star Eden Hazard has announced he will stay at Real Madrid next season despite enduring a torrid three-year stint at the Santiago Bernabeu so far.
Hazard told VTM Nieuws ahead of the Champions League Final against Liverpool: “Everybody knows that I’ve a contract until 2024.
“My first three seasons have not gone well, so I want to show everybody what I can do.
“It’s always been a dream to play for Real. It still is”
    Boehly’s war chest
New Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is set to hand manager Thomas Tuchel a bumper £200million transfer war chest this summer.
According to the Telegraph, some of the budget is expected to come from player sales, with the suggestion Hakim Ziyech, Christian Pulisic, Marcos Alonso and Timo Werner could all be flogged.
It’s claimed the Blues have drawn up an eight-man centre-back shortlist following the departures of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.
Sevilla star Jules Kounde is top of the list, while there is also interest in RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol, Atletico Madrid’s Jose Gimenez, Villarreal’s Pau Torres, Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly and Leicester’s James Justin.
In attack Manchester City star Raheem Sterling could be targeted if Werner, Ziyech or Pulisic leave.
Midfield reinforcements are possible too, with West Ham’s Declan Rice and Monaco’s Aurelien Tchouameni both targeted.

    Government on Chelsea takeover
The UK Government have issued a statement regarding their decision to approve Chelsea’s takeover by Todd Boehly.
A statement read: “Late last night the UK Government reached a position where we could issue a licence that permits the sale of Chelsea Football Club.
“Following the sanctioning of Roman Abramovich, the Government has worked hard to ensure Chelsea Football Club has been able to continue to play football.
“But we have always been clear that the long-term future of the club could only be secured under a new owner”

    Arsenal want Saliba
Arsenal want William Saliba to return to the Emirates after his successful loan spell at Marseille.
According to L’Équipe, the Gunners’ board are convinced that Saliba will have an “integral role” next season.
The same report also claims that the centre-back could even be offered a new contract.
The Frenchman has repeatedly expressed his desire to stay at L’OM
    Why would he?
Former Manchester City ace David James questioned why Gabriel Jesus would want to leave the Etihad for Arsenal.
    Arteta on Elneny
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is “delighted” with Mohamed Elneny’s new contract.
Arteta said: “Mo is a really important part of the team.
“He brings endless energy, enthusiasm and commitment to the team and is loved by everyone.
“He’s an important player for us on and off the pitch, a real role model to our younger players and I’m delighted he’s staying”
    Nketiah turning Eds
Arsenal star Eddie Nketiah has enjoyed a stunning body transformation over recent years from a skinny teenage hopeful into a hulking Premier League striker.
Nketiah previously revealed how he spent the first lockdown in 2020 bulking up to cope better with the Prem’s physicality.
And the striker, who is set to become a free agent next month, certainly flexed his notably bigger muscles in the top-flight this term for the Gunners.
    Check it out:

    More from Nelson
Arsenal legend Robin van Persie is a coach with Feyenoord’s Under-16s and has a hand with the first team, occasionally helping with training.
It is there Van Persie gave the Gunners’ loanee Reiss Nelson a masterclass in movement in front of goal.
Nelson revealed: “Yeah, he does all the time. The little drop of the shoulder or coming short to go long or going long to come short.
“Little, simple stuff, but it gives you an extra yard or two to get in the box and finish”

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is pushing for a move for Leicester star Youri Tielemans.
Tielemans is out of contract at the King Power Stadium at the end of next season and has been linked with the likes of Real Madrid, Tottenham and Manchester United.
Arteta though has urged the Gunners to table an opening bid of £25million for the 25-year-old, according to the Telegraph.
The Foxes, though, could play hardball despite the dwindling months on the Belgium international’s contract and demand over £30m.
SunSport, though, exclusively revealed it could take as much as £40m to prise him away

    Tammy Abraham boost
Roma manager Jose Mourinho insists Arsenal target Tammy Abraham just has to “click his fingers” and he can return to the Premier League.
Mourinho told Sky Sports: “I don’t think it’s an easy decision for a young player to leave his club, his house, his city, his country and to leave the Premier League which is of course a competition that when a player is in its hard to leave.
“He took that option and I think he took it because he trusted me. And I think in this moment, if he wants to go back to England – I don’t think he wants to no – but if he wants to go back to England he just needs to click his fingers and I’m so happy for him.
“He’s back in the national team and is loved in Rome.
“I don’t say proven everybody wrong, because I think everyone knows he’s a good player and I think also, with [Chris] Smalling, [Fikayo] Tomori and Tammy, showing the English boys that there is life outside the Premier League and in Italy there’s a life that makes them even better players”

    Good morning Arsenal fans
Arsenal may convince Eddie Nketiah to sign a new deal at the Emirates.
That is according to reports claiming the Gunners are increasingly confident of Nketiah penning fresh terms.
Arsenal are preparing for a major transfer overhaul this summer after drawing up a shortlist with 11 players on it.
The Gunners’ priority is to sign a new striker, with Manchester City star Gabriel Jesus heading the list, according to The Athletic.
The North Londoners are also keeping tabs on Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Real Sociedad’s Alexander Isak, and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen in case they miss out on Jesus.
Arsenal director Edu remains a firm admirer of Inter Milan star Lautaro Martinez, but a new deal signed earlier this season could make him unattainable at a cost-effective price.
They have also moved quickly to sign Marquinhos, with the winger set to undergo medicals and finalise a deal.
While Arsenal’s striker list is extensive, in midfield their options are far more narrowed down, with Leicester’s Youri Tielemans and Wolves’ Ruben Neves both wanted.
Despite William Saliba not wanting to return to Arsenal, boss Mikel Arteta wants him back.
Arteta is now finally keen to integrate his young star into his Arsenal defence.
Gareth Southgate has named Arsenal stars Aaron Ramsdale, Ben White and Bukayo Saka in his 27-man England squad for the upcoming Nations League matches.

    Aurelien Tchou join Madrid
RMC suggest that Aurelien Tchouameni will join Real Madrid on 5-year contract, the transfer costing the Spanish champions around £60million.
Arsenal and Manchester United had emerged as some of the frontrunners.
But the midfielder – likened to Paul Pogba in style – seems to have decided on the Spanish capital.
The talented Tchouameni has been wowing scouts all over Europe with his performances for Monaco.

His ability was underlined earlier this month when he netted two stunning goals in a win against Lille.
    No risk for Ten Hag
New Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag doesn’t think there is a risk to the reputation he created at Ajax after moving to Old Trafford.
Ten Hag said: “I don’t see it as a risk. This club has a great history and let’s make a future.
“I’m really excited to do that with the people around the club.
“If we work hard and are 100 per cent committed, I’m sure we will have success”.
    Van de Beek district
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag says he is relishing working with former Everton loanee Donny van de Beek again after their time together at Ajax.
Ten Hag said: “Of course we had a fantastic squad in that time in Ajax.
“We had a fantastic relationship and I look forward to seeing him again”
    It’s still Ron
New Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has confirmed Cristiano Ronaldo is in his plans for next season.
Ronaldo’s future has been uncertain for quite a few months and there were questions as to whether Ten Hag was planning to go forward with him.
But the Dutchman put all the speculation to rest after being asked if he wants the five-time Ballon d’Or winner to stay: “Of course!”
Ten Hag was then asked what Ronaldo brings, to which he responded “goals”.
    Net Victor Osimhen
Arsenal have had a club-record £76million offer for Napoli star Victor Osimhen rejected, in what works as a transfer boost for Manchester United.
The Gunners have been linked with a move to bring Osimhen to the Emirates with Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah set to depart in June as free agents.
According to Calciomercato, the Partenopei have turned down the North Londoners’ bid as they hold out for more money.
It has been stated that the Serie A giants will only part ways with the striker should they receive a fee in the region of £93m.
The same source has reported that it is possible Arsenal will come back in with a second bid for the Nigeria international
    Darwin Nunez blow
Manchester United have been dealt with a transfer blow amid their interest in Benfica star Darwin Nunez.
That is because Real Madrid have joined the bidding war to land Nunez in the summer.
According to Record, the LaLiga champs have identified the striker as a potential target after they missed out on Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe.

    Glazer family out?
Manchester United’s shares have fallen 23 per cent this season, the biggest collapse in the past 10 years, wiping almost $600million (£480m) off the club’s value.
However, this decline on the stock market may make the club a more attractive proposition to purchase, according to a finance expert.
Mike Owens, UK Sales Trader at investment platform Saxo Markets, said: “Man Utd’s recent lack of on-field success, in particular missing out on Champions League football next season, will have contributed to this decline. The club’s share value has seen a downtick for the past four seasons since the team finished second in the Premier League under Jose Mourinho in 2018.
“Their falling share price may, however, make the club a more attractive proposition for a potential new buyer and this could be the catalyst to see a change of ownership at the club in the next couple of years if current owners, the Glazer family, are tempted to cash out.
“By way of comparison, the reported bids being negotiated for the sale of Chelsea Football Club range from $3bn to $4bn, while the enterprise value of Manchester United is currently $2.6bn based on the latest share price. On most metrics Manchester United is a far bigger club than Chelsea, which would indicate the shares are currently undervalued by the market”
Ten Hag was then asked what Ronaldo brings, to which he responded “goals”

    ON THE HU-GO
Manchester United are currently in the middle of a six-way battle for Reims star Hugo Ekitike.
However, it’s being reported in France that Paris Saint-Germain are lining up a £38million bid for Ekitike.
According to Foot Mercato, United and Newcastle are the main interested parties from the Premier League.
Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Inter Milan are all also in the hunt for the striker.
Back in January, it was reported that the Magpies had had a £33m bid accepted by the French club, only for the Frenchman himself to turn down the offer

    Jack’s Greal deal
Manchester City star Jack Grealish revealed he could have signed for rivals Manchester United as a kid – but his dad gave the club a fake name.
Grealish recalled the story, speaking to THE FACE: “You’re not actually meant to go back and play with your old team, but they were doing a little tour down in Devon and we played against some team in the group stages. We won 4-0 and I scored all four.
“That was when people were like: ‘OK, this kid’s good.’
“Then I got scouted by other teams like Man United, West Brom and Birmingham City. But [at] those times I was contracted to [Aston] Villa, so I shouldn’t have been playing.
“When they came up to my dad, he’d have to give a fake name!”
    No risk for Ten Hag
New Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag doesn’t think there is a risk to the reputation he created at Ajax after moving to Old Trafford.
Ten Hag said: “I don’t see it as a risk. This club has a great history and let’s make a future.

    Smash and Gnab
Real Madrid have joined a host of Premier League clubs in the race to sign Bayern Munich star Serge Gnabry, who has been linked with Manchester United.
According to Sport1, Gnabry is open to departing from the Allianz Arena as he doesn’t feel valued by the German champions and Real are interested.
The forward is facing an uncertain future at Bayern with his contract set to run out in 2023.
It has been claimed that the winger has turned down a new deal to remain in Munich.
A Prem return has been mooted, with former club Arsenal linked with a move to bring him back.
Liverpool, Chelsea and United are also all rumoured to be keeping tabs on the Germany international
    Ten Hag warning
New Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag warned rivals Liverpool and Manchester City he is coming for them.
Ten Hag said: “In this moment, I admire them both, Manchester City and Liverpool. They both play really fantastic football, both Liverpool and Man City.
“But you will always see an era can come to an end and I am looking forward to battling with them.
“I’m really looking forward to doing this job at this club with massive history. And we want to restore it to where it belongs”

    Timber prediction
Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand also believes Ajax star Jurrien Timber would be a hit at Old Trafford.
Ferdinand added: “I think the way Ten Hag’s playing, looking at it, it’s like, ‘We’re going to be the team that’s the aggressor, we’re going to be the team that dictates and dominates the games’. So he’s looking to play on the half-way line.
“He isn’t looking to play in a deep block, so he’s not thinking about [Timber’s height]. One thing he’ll have to think about is the physical element in the Premier League is very different to what he’s seen in Holland.
“So defending crosses, you could be 5ft10, we saw Patrice Evra he was 5ft3 probably but he was one of the best headers of the ball when we were doing defensive set-pieces – and he was a threat in the opposing box as well. So it can be done but whether he’s that guy, time will tell”
    To the Max
Manchester United have been urged to sign Norwich ace Max Aarons by Rio Ferdinand.
Ferdinand believes Aarons would have a lot of longevity at United and would prove to be a clever investment.
Ferdinand told his Vibe with FIVE podcast: “Someone like Max Aarons you could put him like a Chris Smalling-type signing where they come in and they have an impact.
“They may not be straight starters immediately but they go and they stay there for 10 years and have a really good career and they impact the club at different levels”
    Man Utd fight club
Manchester United pair Alex Telles and Hannibal Mejbri have been named as the two players that were involved in a bust-up at Carrington earlier this month.
SunSport exclusively revealed that two United aces had to be pulled apart in shocking scenes following their training ground scrap.
The heated altercation between the two men is understood to have happened in the days that followed the embarrassing 4-0 thrashing away at Brighton on May 7.
Former interim manager Ralf Rangnick was forced to call the session to a premature end with the Red Devils squad left stunned as tempers boiled over between the duo.
And now the men in question have been named, with the Daily Mail stating that the fiery exchange was between Telles and Mejbri
    West Ham target Lingard
West Ham are trying to sign outgoing Manchester United ace Jesse Lingard.
That is according to Sky Sports, who claim United have made “initial enquiries” with Lingard’ representatives.
The versatile midfielder is set to become a free agent in June following a hapless campaign with the Red Devils.
The Hammers have been wanting the England international back ever since a stunning loan season last term

    Ruben Neves boost
Wolves have offered a new contract to Morgan Gibbs-White as they prepare for life without Ruben Neves.
Neves has been linked with a move to Manchester United ahead of the summer transfer window.
The midfielder seems certain to call time on his Molineux career after taking an emotional bow following his final home game against Norwich last week.
The 25-year-old followed it up by admitting he is ready to “live his dreams” on Sunday.
Now Wolves boss Bruno Lage has made his first move to rebuild his squad by offering Gibbs-White a bumper new deal
    More from Bellingham
Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham is grateful of the Bundesliga club, which is why he is keen to stay despite Manchester United links.
Bellingham added: “I have my destiny in my hands and I know that if I try hard and trust the people around me, I can move forward. I came from England as a young talent.
“There was not much pressure. The first season went well. There were also matches where I sat on the bench and sometimes I did not play at all.
“I think my development this year has meant that I have played a bigger role in every game except two. I am very grateful to Dortmund for the way they have nurtured my talent.
“I think a lot of the credit goes to the coaching staff and the staff who keep the noise around me. In this way I can only focus on winning matches, because that’s what I’m here for”
    Bellingham issues transfer blow
Manchester United have been dealt a major transfer blow in their bid to sign Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham after he stated he is staying in Germany.
Bellingham has been linked with United as well as Chelsea ahead of the summer transfer window.
Speaking to Ruhr Nachrichten BVB, Bellingham said: “The only future I think about is the next game for Dortmund.
“I look forward to next season. I look forward to it finally starting. But yes, I will be here next season and I will be ready”

    Ten Hag backs Maguire
New Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag backed Harry Maguire after a difficult season and claimed he has done a “great job” as captain.
Ten Hag told the media on his first day in the job: “Next season is a different season.
“He’s done a great job, and he’s a great player.
“He’s achieved a lot with his contribution to Manchester United so I’m looking forward to working with him”
    Ronaldo vetoed Conte
Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo blocked the appointment of Antonio Conte before he took over at Tottenham.
Conte was linked with the United hotseat towards the end of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s turbulent tenure.
And at one stage in late October, a month before Solskjaer had been sacked, the Red Devils are said to have asked Ronaldo for his thoughts on possibly appointing the Italian tactician.
But astonishingly a source told Manchester Evening News the five-time Ballon d’Or winner effectively rejected the notion of appointing the former Chelsea boss.
It’s claimed the demanding workload Conte puts on players, combined with his high intensity put the 37-year-old off from working under him.
United instead turned to Ralf Rangnick as interim manager when Solskjaer was eventually relieved of his duties
    Morning, United fans
Erik ten Hag launched his Old Trafford reign by claiming the current United squad IS good enough
But the Dutchman still insisted he needs time to assess his United players ahead of an expected summer spree.
Reims striker Hugo Ekitike and Wolves attacker Ruben Neves are the latest stars rated as prime targets.
Ten Hag, meanwhile, was coy about top scorer Cristiano Ronaldo’s future but is relishing reuniting with his struggling ex-Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek.
He said: “Our plan is huge. I’m still in the process of analysing.
“I’m looking forward to working with these players. The season before, this squad was second in the Premier League and there’s huge potential.
“We have a strategy and a concept. I have a good feeling from people around me now, and it’s about getting the plan done.”
But keeper David De Gea admits dramatic improvement is needed.
The Spaniard even suggested: “The level we have shown in the last three or four months isn’t enough to win a Premier League match.”
On the transfer front, United face fierce competition from Newcaslte and PSG if they pursue French teenager Ekitike.
And it’s thought Aston Villa have beaten the Red Devils as well as Atletico Madrid to sign Marseille midfielder Boubacar Kamara on a five-year-deal.
Ten Hag fires title warning to Pep
Erik ten Hag fired a warning to Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp: I’m here to put Manchester United back on top.
The managers of Manchester City and Liverpool have shared the last five titles and stand head and shoulders above everyone else in the Premier League.

United limped in 35 points behind champions City this season.
But new Red Devils boss Ten Hag insists he is ready to end their rivals’ era of dominance.
Ten Hag said: “In this moment, I admire them both, Manchester City and Liverpool.
“They both play really fantastic football, both Liverpool and Man City. But you will always see an era can come to an end and I am looking forward to battling with them. I’m really looking forward to doing this job at this club with massive history.
“And we want to restore it to where it belongs.”

“If you go to the stadium you [want to] feel this team giving everything, playing as a group of friends, not only just employees.
“That’s the challenge. Once we do this the fans are happy and they feel it. This is where we want to continue”

Speaking earlier this month, Colwill, who is linked with Frank Lampard’s Everton, revealed he was delighted to be compared to the Blues’ hero.
The defender said: “I’ll take it, I’m not going to complain. It’s not a bad thing to be called the new John Terry.
“I haven’t made the comparison myself so the fans and media can make whatever comparisons they want to make, it isn’t going to affect me.
“John Terry is a club legend and leader, someone every centre-back at Chelsea should look up to. A great guy and player. I’ve not had the chance to speak to him too much.

“He felt like he is at home the way he has been performing for us. He understands the way that we want to play the game, and he brings his energy and his determination.
“We know that he has to go back to Chelsea. Then, what will happen? We don’t know.
“But what is important is that he came for a year, and he worked hard and worked well, and he gave something to the team and the football club. It was a win-win.
“He was really happy with us. He played really well, which allowed him to go to England. He’s happy, so we are happy”
    Juve not so keen
Juventus won’t “spend big” for Chelsea star Jorginho ahead of the summer transfer window.

    Bellingham issues transfer blow
Chelsea have been dealt a major transfer blow in their bid to sign Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham after he stated he is staying in Germany.

    Chelsea takeover near completion
Todd Boehly’s Chelsea imminent £4.25billion takeover may be completed this week.
According to The Guardian, the UK Government are now confident Roman Abramovich’s £1.6bn Blues’ loan won’t go to the Russian oligarch or his family.
Delays have been blamed on debt owed by the Blues’ parent company Fordstam Ltd to Jersey-based Camberley International Investments – a company suspected of links to Abramovich.
But talks intensified after fears of a May 31 sale deadline not being met.
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel will be delighted if the takeover is sealed within days as he’s admitted the uncertainty has been a huge headache for his planning

    Morning, Chelsea fans
The Blues’ takeover is in crisis – over Roman Abramovich’s PORTUGUESE passport.
The Government was ready to sign off a £4.25bn buyout by Todd Boehly’s consortium.
But the EU is holding back approval due to objections over deposed owner Abramovich.
It’s still likely the sale can scrape through – but the Blues are sweating on it.
Ironically the setback comes just as the Government finally seemed confident  Abramovich’s £1.6bn Blues’ loan would NOT go to him or his family.
That reassurance paved the way for a takeover this week – until the stumbling block over sanction-hit Abramovich’s passport.
Stamford Bridge manager Thomas Tuchel is desperate for a deal to be sorted out – after admitting the delay is hampering his plans.
Transfer-wise, Chelsea have again been linked with Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde.
And Juventus remain keen on Jorginho but ‘won’t spend big’ on the Italy midfielder.
Finally, Reece James hailed the Blues’ troubled season as a success.
The England wing-back said: “We got to two finals and lost on penalties.
“Our aim is to win every competition we play in. We’re good enough .
“It’s been a difficult season. But we finished the season strongly, qualifying for the Champions League.
“Obviously picking up two trophies at the start of the season and the club World Cup as well.”
Reece rates tough Chelsea season a success
Reece James believes Chelsea coped with a tough season but wants to avoid a repeat, writes ANDY DILLON.
The defender has met incoming new owner Todd Boehly briefly and says the American is as ambitious as the players and boss Thomas Tuchel.
Chelsea lost two cup finals and finished third in the Premier League despite massive upheaval with the enforced sale of the club and James is proud of the achievement – but won’t accept the same again.
He said: “No. We got to two finals and lost on penalties. On another day maybe we win and the season is even better. I don’t know how many competitions we play in but it’s more than two.
“Our aim is to win every competition we play in. We’re good enough, so there’s no reason why we can’t do it.
“It’s been a difficult season. We started very well, we were leading the Premier League, then injuries happened and we found ourselves in a difficult position.
“But we finished the season strongly, qualifying for the Champions League next season. Obviously picking up two trophies at the start of the season and the club World Cup as well.”
Chelsea sale hitch over Roman’s PORTUGUESE passport
Chelsea have been plunged into an 11th-hour sale crisis – because of Roman Abramovich’s PORTUGUESE passport, writes MARTIN LIPTON.
SunSport understands the Government is finally prepared to sign off the proposed £4.25bn deal to the consortium led by Los Angeles Dodgers co-owner Todd Boehly.
But Whitehall chiefs are pointing to objections from the European Union that could SCUPPER the entire deal.
And, while it is still expected that an agreement can be reached, there is a genuine risk of Chelsea not being given the EU go-ahead.
SunSport has been told that the Government believes Abramovich has now given sufficient undertakings for the Treasury and DCMS to sign off the takeover.
The Russian billionaire has provided legally binding guarantees over the £1.6bn loan which helped fund the club over the past 19 years and promises that none of it will go to him or his family.
That was seen as the last impediment to a sale, clearing the way for Boehly to take the helm.
But now Government sources claim senior EU officials have yet to accept the terms of the deal.
Abramovoich has also been sanctioned by the EU over his alleged backing for Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.
