    Out of Nic
Arsenal are struggling to offload club-record signing Nicolas Pepe on a permanent transfer with a loan to Spain on the cards.
Pepe, who cost a whopping £72million in 2019, will be allowed to depart the Emirates this summer after being deemed as surplus to requirements by manager Mikel Arteta.
According to PA, the winger’s £140,000-a-week salary is proving to be a sticking point for potential suitors.
A loan move is the most likely outcome for the Ivory Coast international, who mustered just one goal and two assists in 20 Premier League games last season
    Wilshere on Richarlison
Tottenham star signing Richarlison would not get into Arsenal’s starting XI, claims their former star Jack Wilshere.
Wilshere told talkSPORT: “I think he improves the squad, definitely… he gives them something different. I wouldn’t say I’m gutted. He’s 25, so not young.
“There comes a point where you’re going to have to turn that potential into something but to be fair if any one can do it, it’s Antonio Conte.
“I wouldn’t say I’m devastated as an Arsenal fan but he could be one to watch, he could be really good.”
Further quizzed about whether he’d have Richarlison at the Emirates, Wilshere added: “Yeah, but I don’t think he gets in the XI.
“He’d definitely challenge for it and be a good part of the squad but I don’t think he gets in the XI”

    Kev to be done
Arsenal legend Kevin Campbell insists his former club needs to sign another midfielder and striker after sealing Gabriel Jesus this summer.
Campbell told talkSPORT: “They’ve got to fix the midfield, it needs more goals, it needs more creativity, hence [Youri] Tielemans.
“I still think Arsenal need an alternative striker, a big striker, someone who, when teams bank up and it’s not going so well, someone who you could fire crosses in, and he can get on the end of it.
“I think Arsenal have missed that change of alternative in the set up and the flexibility of Jesus as well means he could start as a nine or he can play wide, he’s comfortable anywhere”
    Arsenal’s Moller delight
Arsenal youngster Nikolaj Moller has returned to Dutch outfit Den Bosch on loan after his spell last season.
Moller spent the second half of the 2021-2022 campaign with the second-division side.
The 19-year-old proved to be a key player for Jack de Gier’s men as he helped the Blue White Dragons finish mid-table.
In total the striker featured in 11 Ereste Divisie matches – chipping in with two goals and a solitary assist
    Matteo Gone-douzi
Matteo Guendouzi has completed his permanent move to Marseille from Arsenal after his stunning loan spell last season.
But Guendouzi will be playing for a new manager after Jorge Sampaoli sensationally quit at the Velodrome.
L’OM are understood to have paid around £9million to turn the midfielder’s temporary stay into a permanent switch.
Announcing his departure, an Arsenal statement read: “Everyone at Arsenal thanks Matteo for his contribution during his time with us and wish him all the best in this next chapter of his career”
    Not so Fab
Arsenal signing Fabio Vieira has picked up an injury before the club’s pre-season tour.
Vieira joined the Gunners last month from Porto in a deal worth £34million.
However, the midfielder has already hit a stumbling block before even putting on the North Londoners’ red shirt.
A picture posted on Instagram clearly shows the Portuguese ace’s left ankle in a protective boot, indicating that he has already sustained an injury.
But according to journalist James Benge, it is just a minor foot issue

    Your the one
Leicester star Youri Tielemans has agreed personal terms with Arsenal as he edges closer to departing the King Power Stadium.
However it has been claimed that the Gunners are yet to make an official offer to the Foxes, with Manchester United and Newcastle joining the race to sign Tielemans.
Transfer expert Ben Jacobs said: “Youri Tielemans update. Still no formal offers made. Tielemans wants to join Arsenal and Edu still in touch with his agent.
“Arsenal have agreed terms, and worked on the deal for a year, but have never placed an official bid.
“Fabio Vieira’s arrival doesn’t rule out Tielemans. Arsenal still deciding whether to bid. Erik ten Hag is also interested.
“Tielemans was actually a Ralf Rangnick target but didn’t want to join Man Utd under him.
“If Arsenal reach an agreement with Leicester, told Tielemans will sign. But for now, Arsenal haven’t decided on him.
“The genuine interest from Man Utd may force Edu to make a decision quicker than expected, especially if ten Hag pitch proves appealing.”
    Dou it right
Arsenal have opened talks with Lille star Amadou Onana’s representatives over a possible transfer this summer.
According to RMC Sport, Onana has caught the Gunners’ attention but Mikel Arteta’s team face competition from rival London clubs.
RMC Sport’s Sacha Tavolieri reports that other unnamed London clubs are also tracking the midfielder.
So the North Londoners may want to act fast if they want to seal a deal for the Belgium international
    More on Gnabry
Speaking in June, Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer admitted that talks to extend Arsenal target Serge Gnabry’s stay have stalled.
And Bayern’s sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic recently declared that Bayern may have to sell Gnabry in a cut-price fee if he fails to agree terms on a new deal.
Asked by Sky Sport Germany whether the forward will be sold if he doesn’t renew, Salihamidzic said: “I’m very clear about that, he’s a great guy.
“We really want to keep him. We would love to extend with him. I think we showed him the necessary appreciation. I hope that he chooses FC Bayern.
“We will intensify the talks over the next few weeks. But if a player doesn’t want to decide for the club then it’s only fair to tell us so that we can find a solution that makes everyone happy”

    Gunner Gnab him
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is eyeing up a possible swoop to bring former team-mate Serge Gnabry back to the Emirates this summer.
The Gunners are on the lookout for a winger after missing out on Leeds star Raphinha, who looks poised to link up with Barcelona while Chelsea are also keeping tabs.
Gnabry is facing an uncertain future in Bavaria with the player having just a year left on his deal at the Allianz Arena.
According to 90min, the North Londoners are closely following his contract situation at Bayern.
Arsenal would be open to securing his services for a second time after they signed him from Stuttgart for £100,000 in 2011.
It has also been claimed that the Gunners have accepted defeat in their pursuit of Raphinha, and are now keeping a watchful eye on the Germany international
    Mart made in heaven
Manchester United have made a £39.6 million offer for Ajax star Lisandro Martinez as they look to hijack the transfer from rivals Arsenal.
The Gunners have already seen their £34m bid for Martinez rejected, leaving the door open for United manager Erik ten Hag to raid his former club.
According to The Mirror, the Red Devils have lodged a £39m offer, which falls closer to the Dutch giants’ £43m evaluation.
They add that the Manchester giants have told Ajax they will pay £35.3m up front with a package of add-ons worth a further £4.3m
    Jesus video leaks
Gabriel Jesus’ Arsenal shirt number has been revealed in a leaked video of him at the Emirates.
Footage shows Jesus walking around his new home ground in the Gunners shirt with the No9 on his back.
The leaked video appears to show the striker with the club’s media team preparing for the unveiling of the signing.
Arsenal fans are now waiting for the official announcement but the deal is all but done
    Hickey going to Brentford
Arsenal have been dealt a transfer blow in their pursuit of Bologna star Aaron Hickey with the left-back set to join Brentford in a £14million deal.
Hickey has been linked with a move to the Emirates this summer with Mikel Arteta keen to bring in a back-up for Kieran Tierney.
But the Gunners have always been in competition with the Bees in the race to secure theScotland international’s services.
And according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Brentford could announce the signing of the 20-year-old next week after his medical

    Raphinha blocks Chelsea
Leeds star and Arsenal transfer target Raphinha has asked his agent to block any further advances from Chelsea.
According to Sport, the Brazil international is not keen on moving to the Blues and is prepared to wait for Barca.
The winger has asked his representative Deco to “stop’ negotiations with Chelsea in order to ‘prioritise” a move to the Nou Camp.
Stamford Bridge chiefs have been left flummoxed by the 25-year-old’s stance against joining them as they did not expect him to turn them down
    Arsenal 5-1 Ipswich Town
Arsenal thrashed Ipswich Town with a comfortable 5-1 win in a behind-closed-doors friendly at London Colney.
Eddie Nketiah stood out for the Gunners as he scored a hat-trick in his bid to prove manager Mikel Arteta he should run the attack after Gabriel Jesus’ arrival.
Nketiah didn’t stop there as he also assisted Albert Sambi Lokonga’s goal.
Folarin Balogun sealed the North Londoners’ triumph in the second half
A look at Arsenal’s new signings in USA pre-season tour
New signing Fabio Vieira now faces a race against time to prepare for the Gunners’ upcoming pre-season tour in the United States, starting July 16.
All of Arsenal’s new signings are expected to make their club debut’s before the season starts next month.
Arteta has already confirmed that 19-year-old Marquinhos will be given his chance to shine following his £3m transfer from Sao Paulo.
Matt Turner is also set to appear between the sticks upon his return to America.
And new No9 Gabriel Jesus is expected to alternate with Eddie Nketiah in attack.
Arsenal target Hickey set to join Brentford
Arsenal have reportedly been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Aaron Hickey with the Bologna left-back set to join Brentford in a £14million deal.
The 20-year-old has been linked with a move to the Emirates this summer with Mikel Arteta keen to bring in a back-up for Kieran Tierney.
But they have always been in competition with the Bees in the race to secure the services of the Scotland international.
And according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the West London outfit could announce the signing of the defender next week after his medical.

He tweeted: “Brentford are set to sign Aaron Hickey on permanent deal.
“Scottish talented fullback will join for £14m plus add-ons to Bologna. Five-year deal agreed… and here we go.
“Hickey will travel to England next week in order to undergo medical tests and sign.”
Ben White is ‘overrated’, says Agbonlahor
Arsenal’s defence has been blasted by Gabby Agbonlahor who reckons Ben White is over-rated.
Agbonlahor told Football Insider: “Arsenal’s defence is nowhere near good enough to get top-four.
“For me, Ben White is very overrated, I watched him against Newcastle towards the end of the season and he was absolutely dreadful.
“He lacks pace, he lacks aggression. Yes, he’s good on the ball but he’s not a defensive midfielder, he’s a centre-half.”
Highest-paid player at every Premier League club
Mohamed Salah’s new contract at Liverpool has doubled his wages, making him one of the highest earning Premier League players.
The new deal, which was announced on Friday, ended months of speculation regarding the forward’s future, with his previous deal due to expire in the summer of 2023.
His new £400,000 deal makes him the Premier League’s joint-second highest paid player.
How do you feel about your club’s highest paid player?
Thomas Partey is on £200k-a-week. Great when he isn’t injured…

    Parlour makes Martinez wish
Ray Parlour has admitted that he wants Arsenal to sign Lisandro Martinez.
He said to talkSPORT: “I know they are in for him from Ajax. I am looking down the spine of the team and I think that’s where they might strengthen.
“As you mentioned, Tielemans is a really good ball-player. They have got Partey, who had his injury problems last season.
“He missed quite a lot of games. You have got Lokonga, who is going to get better and he’s still young.
“But I think that’s the area. Xhaka is getting that little bit older. I think that’s the area they really need to look at.
“Get balls through the line and Tielemans would be ideal. Let’s hope, with my Arsenal hat on, they can somehow get him over the line, and in the ideal world, get everyone signed up by the pre-season tour.”
But Gunners still in the hunt for Argentina star
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano insists Arsenal are “still there” when it comes to signing Lisandro Martinez.
In a boost to the Gunners, the Ajax player wants to join the Premierl League.
Romano tweeted: “Manchester United official proposal for Lisandro Martinez, better than Arsenal’s one but not enough yet. Arsenal are still there.
“Man United also pushing to agree on personal terms with Lisandro – ten Hag, key factor.
“Lisandro will ask Ajax to leave, as he wants PL move.”
Man Utd ‘make £39m offer’ for Arsenal target Martinez
Manchester United have reportedly made a £39.6 million offer for Lisandro Martinez as they look to hijack the transfer from rivals Arsenal.
The Ajax defender is in hot demand and some of the biggest Premier League clubs are set to scrap over him.
The Gunners have already seen their £34m for Argentine defender rejected, leaving the door open for Erik ten Hag to raid his former club.
The Mirror report the Red Devils have lodged a £39m bid, which falls close to the Dutch club’s £43m evaluation.
Ten Hag has identified the defender as United look to fix their leaky defence.
Arsenal ‘should sign’ Tielemens, says Nicol
It’s shocking Arsenal haven’t made a formal move for Leicester ace Youri Tielemans, according to Steve Nicol.
Speaking to ESPN, he said: “I am surprised someone like Arsenal haven’t gone in to sign Tielemens.
“I think Arsenal should have gone and signed this guy.
“Granit Xhaka is a good Premier League player, but I don’t think he is good enough to push Arsenal into the top four or certainly challenge for any major competition.
“I think Tielemans and Thomas Partey would be a great partnership in the middle of the park.
“So, I am surprised there hasn’t been more talk of Tielemans, especially from an Arsenal point of view.”
    Pride In London
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta and his players have surprised Arsenal’s LGBT+ supporters group ahead of the Pride In London march today.
Rob Holding signed autographs and posed for photos with the group and the club tweeted their support.

    Guen-done-zi
Matteo Guendouzi has completed his permanent switch to Marseille from Arsenal following his stunning loan spell last season.
But he will be playing for a new manager after Argentine boss Jorge Sampaoli sensationally quit at the Stade Velodrome.
Guendouzi enjoyed a brilliant 2021-22 campaign with the French side as he helped the club finish second in Ligue 1.
He proved to be a key player under Sampaoli where he chipped in with five goals and 14 assists in 56 games in all competitions.
Marseille are understood to have paid around £9million to turn his temporary stay into a permanent switch.

    Rich Arsenal statement
Tottenham star signing Richarlison has delighted the club’s fans after he immediately looked to rile Arsenal supporters with a “s***house” Instagram post.
Almost immediately after his big-money move was confirmed, the forward took to his Instagram story to share an old picture of him playing for Everton against his new local rivals.
In the image, Dani Ceballos is laying on the ground injured with Richarlison squaring up to Hector Bellerin.
Though Arsenal fans will have the last laugh from that picture as the Brazil international ended up on the losing side from the match

    Serge Gnabry exclusive
Bayern Munich star and Arsenal transfer target Serge Gnabry is a shock name on the transfer radar of both Manchester clubs, according to SunSport’s Phil Thomas.
And Gnabry will leap to the top of Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola’s hit list if Raheem Sterling does leave the Premier League champions for Chelsea in the summer.
The winger has turned down a new deal with Bayern worth just over £200,000 a week.
The German champions are keen to keep the former Gunners ace who has just 12 months left on his current deal.
But the Bavarians will be open to a sale if they cannot reach an agreement with the Germany international.
If the 26-year-old shows no sign of putting pen to paper in the current window, Bayern would be prepared to cash in for around £35million, as it is their last chance to demand a decent fee

    Work of Art
Juventus are hoping that Arsenal make another offer to sign Arthur Melo this summer.
Arthur was heavily linked with a move to the Gunners throughout January but a deal never materialised.
However, the North Londoners are still said to be considering a swoop with Juve pushing for a sale.
According to Calciomercato, the Bianconeri are desperate for Arsenal to make another bid.
Juventus chiefs are eager to offload the Brazil international’s £4.3million-a-year wages before the start of the season, whether that be through a loan deal or a permanent transfer.
But Arsenal have already signed a new midfielder this summer, so they could be reluctant to place a suitable offer after Fabio Vieira’s arrival
    Jesus video leaks
Gabriel Jesus’ Arsenal shirt number has been revealed in a leaked clip of him at the Emirates.
Footage shows Jesus walking around his new ground in the Gunners shirt with the No9 on his back.
The leaked video appears to show the centre-forward with the club’s media team preparing for the unveiling of the signing.
Arsenal fans are now waiting for the official announcement but the deal seems completed
    Friendly victory reminder
Arsenal thrashed Ipswich Town with a 5-1 win in a behind-closed-doors friendly at London Colney on Saturday.
Eddie Nketiah stood out for the Gunners as he netted a hat-trick in his bid to prove manager Mikel Arteta he should run the attack after the signing of Gabriel Jesus.
Nketiah didn’t stop there, however, as he also assisted Albert Sambi Lokonga’s goal.

    Clubs battle for Hector Bellerin
Villarreal have joined the race to sign Hector Bellerin, according to Tuttojuve.
The right-back had a successful loan spell at Real Betis last season but the La Liga club cannot afford to sign Bellerin on a permanent basis.
But with Arsenal open to offers Villarreal are ready to make a move, along with Juventus.
    Arsenal struggling to offload Pepe
Arsenal may have been handed a potential problem in sealing a transfer exit for winger Nicolas Pepe this summer, according to reports.
The Ivory Coast international has struggled since making the £72million switch to the Emirates.
But a permanent move away for Pepe is looking unlikely according to the Press Association, as the player’s £140,000-a-week salary is proving to be a problem for potential interested parties.
Other reports claim Arsenal have put too high of an asking price on the winger which may mean a loan move is more likely amid interest from La Liga clubs.
    Juventus pushing for Arthur sale
Juventus are hoping that Arsenal make another offer to sign Arthur Melo this summer, according to reports.
The midfielder, 25, was heavily linked with a move to the Emirates throughout January, but a deal never materialised.
However, the Gunners are still said to be considering a swoop with Juventus pushing for a sale.
According to Calciomercato, the Italian giants are desperate for Arsenal to make another bid.
Club chiefs are eager to offload his £4.3million-a-year wages before the start of the season, whether that be through a loan deal or a permanent transfer.
    Jesus better buy than Richarlison
Arsenal’s acquisition of Gabriel Jesus is a better signing than Tottenham’s Richarlison, says Tony Cascarino.
The ex-Chelsea striker Cascarino weighed in on the debate as to who is the better coup, admitting he favours Jesus to score more goals next season.
Speaking on talkSPORT, he said: “I think Gabriel Jesus ticks a lot more boxes and they’ve got him at a better price.
“If you said to me now who will get the most goals, I’d say Gabriel Jesus would get more goals than Richarlison for Tottenham.
“And he’s more versatile than Richarlison. Gabriel Jesus has played left-wing, right-wing and centre-forward for Man City.”
    Cazorla not ready to coach
Arsenal icon Santi Cazorla has been linked with a return to the Emirates in a coaching capacity under Mikel Arteta.
Cazorla said previously that he and Arteta shared a “coaching gene” and admitted coaching under the Arsenal boss was something he was seriously considering.
However, that move is not set to happen this summer, as the 37-year-old has officially penned a new one-year deal with Al-Sadd.
This will extend his playing career further, but it remains to be seen what his plans are for afterwards.
    Eddie off to bright start
Arsenal’s faith in Eddie Nketiah is already paying off after the striker scored a hat-trick against Ipswich in a pre-season friendly.
It was a prolific day at the office for Nketiah, as he scored three goals and even provided an assist inside 35 minutes against Ipswich.
Nketiah opened the scoring after just 30 seconds before assisting Albert Sambi-Lokonga, who will be looking to improve on last season.
The 23-year-old then completed his hat-trick in a very different looking Arsenal line-up.
Folarin Balogun also got on the scoresheet as Arsenal beat the Tractor Boys 5-1.
    Arsenal set for Martinez talks
Arsenal will meet Ajax in the coming days to discuss a deal for Lisandro Martinez and are refusing to give up on the defender despite his preference being to join Manchester United.
They had been adamant they would not let Martinez leave unless they received an offer that was too good to turn down, and now both Arsenal and United are nearing that price tag for the Argentine.
Arsenal have also had several offers rebuffed, but The Athletic report that the Gunners’ hierarchy have scheduled a meeting with Ajax this week and are preparing to ramp up negotiations.
The north Londoners are still hopeful of agreeing a deal with both the club and the player and believe Martinez is open to joining them despite his links to Erik ten Hag.
    Gabriel being eyed by Juventus
Juventus will come sniffing for Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes if Chelsea get a Matthijs de Ligt deal over the line, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
Chelsea are looking to react to losing two of last season’s star defenders in Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.
Sevilla’s Jules Kounde is a long-term target, but Netherlands international De Ligt has recently emerged on the Blues’ radar.
And should Juventus decided to sell the centre-back they will eye Gabriel as his replacement.
    Standing returns
Premier League clubs will get the go-ahead to open safe standing areas in their grounds from the start of the new season.
Ministers are expected to announce the success of a trial at five stadiums – and invite all top-flight teams to introduce their own sections.
It will mean that fans will be able to stand to watch Prem or Championship matches for the first time in nearly 30 years.
Standing has been illegal in the two top divisions since all-seater stadiums were introduced in 1994 following the Taylor report into the Hillsborough disaster.
But following a pilot scheme last season at Chelsea, Spurs, Cardiff City, Man City and Man United, all other top clubs will be give the all clear to follow suit.
A final report on the government-commissioned trial seen by The Sun on Sunday says the sections delivered a positive impact on spectator safety and improved fans’ matchday experience.

    Arsenal and Ajax arrangement
Gunners chiefs are set to meet with their Ajax counterparts next week to discuss the possible transfer of Lisandro Martinez.
The defender is high on Mike Arteta’s wish list – but United are also keen.
The Athletic say the Dutch giants want £43m for the Argentina international.
    Raph cash boost
Raphinha is reportedly set to receive a massive pay rise if his proposed move to Barcelona goes through.
The Spanish giants have stolen a march on Premier League duo Arsenal and Chelsea in the race for the Leeds winger.
And the Brazilian will reportedly receive a lucrative contract worth £5.2million per year should the deal go through.
That works out to be £100,000 a week, a whopping £40,000 increase on the winger’s current weekly wages.
Chelsea appeared to move ahead of the Gunners into pole position to sign Raphinha earlier this week after they tabled a bid north of £55million for his services.
But a late swoop from Barcelona could potentially scupper the London clubs’ pursuits of the player.
    Surge for Serge
    And another SunSport transfer exclusive…
Serge Gnabry is a shock name on the transfer radar of both Manchester clubs.
And he will leap to the top of City boss Pep Guardiola’s hit list if Raheem Sterling does leave the Premier League champions this summer.
Gnabry has turned down a new contract with Bayern Munich worth just over £200,000 a week.
Bayern are keen to keep the former Arsenal attacker who has just 12 months left on his current deal.
But the German champions will be open to a sale if they cannot reach an agreement.
And if Gnabry, 26, shows no sign of putting pen to paper in the current window, Bayern would be prepared to cash in for around £35million, as it is their last chance to demand a decent fee.
    Piers tries his luck
With Cristiano Ronaldo ready to quit Manchester United for Champions League football, there will no doubt be a few of Europe’s elite clubs scrambling to sign him.
But Arsenal fan Piers Morgan attempted a cheeky bid to get the Portuguese superstar to the Emirates.
The TalkTV host shared a photo of himself presenting Ronaldo with a Gunners shirt, as Georgina Rodriguez looks on on Twitter.
Morgan captioned the snap, “It’s time @Cristiano #afc” in the ultimate of cheeky tweets.

    Good morning Arsenal fans
Arsenal thrashed Ipswich Town with a comfortable 5-1 win in a behind-closed-doors friendly at London Colney on Saturday.
Eddie Nketiah stood out for the Gunners as he scored a hat-trick in his bid to prove manager Mikel Arteta he should run the attack after the signing of Gabriel Jesus.
Nketiah didn’t stop there, however, as he also assisted Albert Sambi Lokonga’s goal.
And it was Folarin Balogun who sealed the North Londoners’ triumph in the second half.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have been dealt a transfer blow in their pursuit of Bologna star Aaron Hickey with the left-back set to sign for Brentford in a £14million deal.
Hickey has been linked with a move to the Emirates this summer with Arteta keen to bring in a back-up for Kieran Tierney.
But the Gunners have always been in competition with the Bees in the race to secure the Scotland international.
According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Brentford could announce the signing of the 20-year-old next week after his medical.
And Manchester United have made a £39.6 million offer for Ajax star Lisandro Martinez as they look to hijack the transfer from rivals Arsenal.
The Gunners have already seen their £34m offer for Martinez rejected, leaving the door open for United manager Erik ten Hag to raid his former club.

They add that the Manchester giants have told Ajax they will splash £35.3m up front with a package of add-ons worth a further £4.3m.
Finally, Leicester star Youri Tielemans has agreed personal terms with Arsenal as he edges closer to departing from the King Power Stadium.
However it has been claimed that the Gunners are yet to make an official bid to the Foxes, with Manchester United and Newcastle joining the race to sign Tielemans.

    Ron his way
Chelsea are at the front of the queue to offer Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo Champions League football.
Ronaldo sensationally informed United he wants to quit the club this summer.
The Red Devils are determined to stand firm and refuse to sell but the five-time Ballon d’Or winners insists they should give the green light to any acceptable bids.
And that could see the star forward join the Blues, who finished third last season – and therefore have a seat at Europe’s top competition.
Manager Thomas Tuchel is on the hunt for a new striker following Romelu Lukaku’s season-long loan to Inter Milan.
That leaves Timo Werner and Kai Havertz as the only players who can really play up front this coming season
    Ziyech agrees AC Milan move
Chelsea ace Hakim Ziyech has agreed to join AC Milan, according to Calciomercato.
Ziyech is set to move to Milan on a season-long loan deal, which will include an obligation to buy.
The fee to make the winger’s move permanent will reportedly be set at £21million though the Blues are seeking a further £4m.
That will mark another notable departure from the West Londoners’ frontline after Romelu Lukaku, who also moved on loan in the Serie A as he returned to Inter Milan

    Kimpembe interest latest
Chelsea are targeting Paris Saint-Germain star Presnel Kimpembe this summer.
The Blues were considering a move for PSG’s £34million-rated Kimpembe in the past two transfer windows.
According to Goal, that “interest from Chelsea still exists” over the centre-back.
It seems the West Londoners are keen again after seeing Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen leave the club
    Chelsea favourites for De Ligt
Chelsea have emerged as the odds on favourites to land Juventus star Matthijs de Ligt.
De Ligt has been linked with a move away from the Serie A and Sky Bet are pricing a transfer to Stamford Bridge at 8/11.
The Blues are desperate to sign a defender or two this summer following the departures of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.
Naturally, there have been rumours of Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag and the Netherlands international linking up again, with Sky Bet pricing the move at 8/1.
Ten Hag was the Ajax boss when the 22-year-old helped the Dutch side to the semi-finals of the Champions League, and made the defender the club’s youngest ever captain at 18 years old
    Mo Salah reminder
Liverpool star Mohamed Salah was prepared to return to Chelsea before his new Anfield contract made him the highest-paid player in the club’s history, according to SunSport’s Ken Lawrence.
The Blues’ new owner Todd Boehly lined up Salah as talks with the Reds stalled over a new three-year deal.
The forward, through agent Ramy Abbas, had made it clear to Fenway Sports Group that he would consider returning to Stamford Bridge, where he spent two years after joining in 2014.
The Chelsea threat forced a major rethink before handing the Egypt international a deal which will see him bank at least £62million in total.
It was a major factor in Kop owners FSG coming up with a deal worth a whopping £400,000 a week
    Chelsea close to Sterling
Chelsea are closing in on the £45million transfer of Manchester City star Raheem Sterling.
According to the Daily Mail, a deal is set to be struck in the coming days which will see Sterling make the switch to Stamford Bridge from the Etihad.
The 27-year-old looks on course to pen a four-year deal in West London.
The England international has spoken with Blues boss Thomas Tuchel and those conversations have only added to his desire to leave City for Chelsea.
The forward is among the club’s top targets as they appear likely to miss out on Leeds star Raphinha

    Raphinha edging towards Barca move
Barcelona are close to agreeing a deal to sign Raphinha, according to journalist Gerard Romero.
The transfer guru claims Barca and Leeds are set to agree a £60milion fee which will see the Brazilian move to the Nou Camp.
And the winger is reportedly close to accepting a £115,000 a week deal with the Spanish giants.
Romero also claims Raphinha turned down an approach from Newcastle.
    Ziyech agrees AC Milan move
Hakim Ziyech has agreed to join AC Milan, according to Calciomercato.
The Moroccan is set to move to the Serie A champions on a season-long loan deal which will include an obligation to buy.
The fee to make the move permanent will reportedly be set at £21million though the Blues are seeking a further £4m.
    Sterling selling house to Alexander-Arnold
Manchester City star Raheem Sterling is ‘negotiating’ to sell his £4.5million Cheshire home to Liverpool defender and England team-mate Trent Alexander-Arnold, according to the Mirror.
Alexander-Arnold is set to move out of his current south Manchester home, which is on the same road as Reds shot-stopper Alisson and ex-Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.
And with the right-back ready to purchase Sterling’s house it is possible the City star is preparing to move down south.
Sterling has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea this summer but the Blues are yet to agree a fee with City for the winger.
    Go for Ronaldo says Laboeuf
Former Chelsea star Frank Laboeuf has advised Thomas Tuchel to sign Cristiano Ronaldo this summer, not Neymar.
He told ESPN: “I would pick Ronaldo because they need someone to finish the actions and score and be more clinical.
“Neymar is not going to happen, I don’t think Tuchel wants him because he had so many issues when he was the coach of PSG.”
    Newcastle enter Broja transfer race
Newcastle United want Armando Broja and are now confident of winning the race for the Chelsea striker this summer, report The Northern Echo.
West Ham opened talks with Chelsea over a permanent deal for Broja in June but that hasn’t really progressed.
So Newcastle are looking to hijack a potential deal with the Blues seeking around £30million for the striker.
    Chelsea set price for Alonso
Chelsea and Barcelona are ‘close to reaching a transfer agreement’ for defender Marcos Alonso to move to the Nou Camp this summer, according to Sport.
The two clubs are set for talks next week after Thomas Tuchel gave his approval for the move.
Chelsea are reportedly seeking £8.5million for the Spaniard despite Alonso playing a prominent role last season.
    Laporta confirms Raphinha transfer interest
Barcelona president Joan Laporta has opened up on the club’s rumoured interest in Chelsea target Raphinha.
Laporta also spoke about Ousmane Dembele, another player Chelsea have their eye on, and hinted at the Frenchman playing alongside Raphinha at the Nou Camp.
As quoted by Mundo Deportivo, he said: “We have talked about Raphinha with Leeds, we know that the player would also like to come to Barça, but there are also other clubs that want him.
“It would not be dependent on (Ousmane) Dembélé, because the coach sees them as compatible.”
    Top targets
Will the Blues be able to secure Raheem and Raphinha this summer?
    They’re certainly trying to.
It’s all up to new owner Tood Boehly.

    Big earners
Chelsea are looking to do some serious business this summer.
Raheem Sterling, Raphinha, Mattijs de Ligt and Jules Kounde have all been linked with moves to Stamford Bridge.
And you can bet your house they’d all make it into this top earners list.

De Jong de-lighted by top comp
Chelsea are hovering as Manchester United sweat on Frenkie de Jong agreeing personal terms over a £60million move.
That’s the claim from the Guardian, who say the Blues have one major advantage as the Barcelona midfielder wants Champions League football.
The Red Devils negotiated a fee close to £60m as Barca aim to ease their financial problems by cashing in on a major asset.
But it’s understood Chelsea are now taking a strong interest in De Jong’s talks with Old Trafford chiefs over personal demands.
Should there be any stumbling blocks in negotiations, the Blues seem ready to pounce.
    Watch this space…
    ‘Feels good’
Callum Hudson-Odoi couldn’t contain his delight after returning to pre-season training with Chelsea team-mates Ben Chilwell and Ross Barkley.
Hudson-Odoi was one of a handful of first-team players to report to the Blues’ Cobham training ground to begin preparation for the new season.
And the England international – who was blighted by injury last season – shared his delight at being back on the training field shortly after the session.
Alongside a picture of himself dribbling with the ball, Hudson-Odoi tweeted: “Feels Good to be back!”

Chelsea appeared to move into pole position to sign Raphinha earlier this week after they tabled a bid north of £55million for his services.
But a late swoop from Barcelona could potentially scupper the west Londoners’ pursuit of the player.
    Blue-turn
A reminder of another SunSport transfer exclusive this morning…
Mo Salah was prepared to move to Chelsea before his deal made him the highest-paid player in Liverpool history.
Blues’ new owner Todd Boehly had lined up Reds’ star Salah, 30, as talks stalled over a new three-year deal.
It was a major factor in Kop owners FSG coming up with a deal worth almost £400,000 a week.
Salah, through agent Ramy Abbas, had made it clear to Fenway Sports Group that he would consider returning to Stamford Bridge, where he spent two years from 2014-16.
    Ron his way
Chelsea are at the front of the queue to offer Cristiano Ronaldo Champions League football.
The superstar forward sensationally told Manchester United he wants to quit.
The Red Devils are determined to stand firm and refuse to sell – but the Portuguese star insists they should give the green light to any ‘acceptable’ bids.
And that could see the five-time Ballon d’Or winner join rivals Chelsea, who finished third last season – and therefore have a seat at Europe’s top table.
Thomas Tuchel is on the hunt for a new striker following Romelu Lukaku’s season-long loan to Inter Milan.
That leaves Timo Werner and Kai Havertz as the only players who can really play up front in the squad.
The West Londoners are keen to make the forward their marquee signing this summer and have been keeping tabs on his situation with United.
New Blues chief Todd Boehly recently met with Ronaldo’s agent – Jorge Mendes – to discuss a host of topics, including a potential move for the sporting icon.
    Good morning Chelsea fans
Manchester United star and reported Chelsea target Cristiano Ronaldo has asked to leave the club if a suitable offer arrives in the summer.
That is according to The Times, who claim Ronaldo wants out of United because he wants to compete in the Champions League.
The Red Devils missed out on Europe’s top competition after finishing sixth and will instead play in the Europa League.
That poses as a major blow for new boss Erik ten Hag, who is looking to turn things around at Old Trafford.
Meanwhile, Leeds star Raphinha has asked his agent Deco to block any further advances from Chelsea.
According to Sport, the Brazil international is not keen on moving to Stamford Bridge and is prepared to wait for Barca to come calling.
The winger has asked Deco to “stop’ negotiations with the Blues in order to ‘prioritise” a move to the Nou Camp.
Club chiefs have been left flummoxed by the 25-year-old’s stance against joining them as they did not expect him to refuse a move to west London.
And Chelsea are targeting Paris Saint-Germain star Presnel Kimpembe in the summer transfer window.
The Blues were considering a move for £34million-rated Kimpembe in the past two transfer windows.
According to Goal, that “interest from Chelsea still exists” over the talented centre-back.
It seems the West Londoners are keen again after seeing Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen leave.
Finally, PSG superstar and Chelsea transfer target Neymar has activated a clause in his contract to extend his stay in Paris until 2027.
The star forward most recently put pen to paper on a five-year extension in 2021.
But the Brazil international has now activated his annual extension option, which means his deal will stretch until 2027, according to Sport.
That means the 30-year-old is set to earn £155m more from PSG with the forward being paid £31m per year.
The Parisians are said to be looking for a buyer to take the Brazilian off their hands, with president Nasser Al-Khelaifi looking to move away from their high-earner model.
Neymar has been linked with Chelsea but his £600,000-a-week wages are putting the Blues and other potential suitors off this summer
    In the Leed
Chelsea have received a major boost in their ongoing transfer war with Barcelona over Leeds star Raphinha.
According to Diario AS, the Blaugrana may not need the Brazil international after all as Ousmane Dembele “has got closer to renewing” his deal.
Dembele’s contract runs out today and the Catalan giants are frantically trying to convince him to pen a new one as manager Xavi wants him in his squad this coming season.
And it seems like there is a significant possibility the forward may remain at the Nou Camp
    Chelsea’ magic Wad
Chelsea youngster Ethan Wady signed a one-year extension with the club before being offloaded to Woking on loan.
Wady, 20, has joined the non-league side but first put pen to paper on a new contract with the Blues until 2023.
This marks the goalkeeper’s fifth loan stint ever since his move to the club’s esteemed academy in 2018.
Woking manager Darren Sarll sang the 20-year-old’s praises and hinted he could get a fair share of first-team football

    Do no Ron
Manchester United wantaway star Cristiano Ronaldo should ignore Chelsea’s interest and stay at Old Trafford this summer, claims former striker Louis Saha.
Saha told BonusCodeBets: “It could go both ways, no one can guarantee anything apart from Cristiano. He’s the only one to answer that.
“It wouldn’t be the right move for Man United to let him go because he’s such a big asset.
“I can definitely see him continuing to keep doing what he’s doing best, which is scoring goals and helping his club get back to where it belongs.
“He can still play a part under [Erik] Ten Hag, not only by scoring goals, but with his stature.
“I’m sure the new manager will want to implement some new rules and new standards that fit with Ronaldo. Maybe not so much on the pressing side, but his work ethic and his desire to always be accountable.
“Performance-wise, Ronaldo is up there with the best, he’ll drive the players that need confidence, like [Marcus] Rashford.
“It’s a new manager, new rules, new atmosphere and I’m very excited”

He played at Hamilton Accies, Coventry, another spell at Oldham, Queen of the South and then lastly Elgin City.
Internationally, Goram won 43 caps for Scotland and was the first-choice goalkeeper for both Euro 92 and Euro 96 in Sweden and England respectively for the Scots.

However it’s said the Danish star wants to wait and see who else new manager Erik ten Hag brings in to Old Trafford this window before offering his signature.
Eriksen, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Brentford, is a target for several Premier League clubs this window.
The 30-year-old is not in a rush to decide where he agrees to play.

    Ten Hag dines out
Erik ten Hag headed out for a meal at Manchester’s plush Ivy restaurant last night as he navigates the first week of pre-season.
After another long day at the training ground, the Dutchman was able to sample one of Manchester’s nicest restaurants on Thursday evening.
Donning a white zip-up and trousers combo, Ten Hag appeared relaxed as he arrived at The Ivy alongside assistant Mitchell van der Gaag and his partner.
The trio dined at the Manchester hotspot, before strolling back to The Lowry Hotel at around 10:30pm.

    Henderson loan to Forest complete
Manchester United’s Dean Henderson has completed a season-long loan move to Nottingham Forest.
The 25-year-old is looking for regular football ahead of the upcoming World Cup in Qatar, and is expected to be no.1 for the newly-promoted side.
Forest will pay all of his wages in the deal and it is understood there is no option to buy in the loan arrangement.
Henderson will also not be able to play against United during his loan.

    Lingard ‘low-risk’ signing for Spurs
Conte has already brought in attackers Ivan Perisic and Richarlison as well as Yves Bissouma further back.
But the former Man Utd man Lingard would offer something in between, primarily as a creative midfielder where he has previously shone for England.
The new signings also take Conte over the non-homegrown quota for Tottenham’s Champions League return this season so the former United academy star would help on that front, too.
Despite a largely underwhelming season, playing 540 minutes of football across 21 appearances, the 29-year-old is seen as a “low-risk” signing, the Telegraph adds.
He excelled during his loan stint at West Ham in 2020-21, getting himself back into Gareth Southgate’s England team.
    Spurs in for Lingard
Tottenham have joined the race to sign Jesse Lingard on a free transfer, according to reports.
Antonio Conte is keen to add another homegrown player into his squad ahead of the new season.
Lingard was released by boyhood club Manchester United when his contract expired on Thursday night.
And that means the midfielder is now unemployed with the new Premier League season just five weeks away.
According to The Telegraph, though, he could be snapped up by Spurs.

    United in for De Ligt
Chelsea have emerged as the odds on favourites ahead of Manchester United to sign the Juventus centre back Matthijs de Ligt.
The Netherlands international has been linked with a move away from Italy and Sky Bet are pricing a move to Stamford Bridge at 8/11.
Chelsea are desperate to sign a central defender or two this summer following the departures of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.
Erik ten Hag was the Ajax manager when de Ligt helped the Dutch side to the semi-finals of the Champions League, and made the defender the club’s youngest ever captain at 18 years old.
Naturally, there have been rumours of ten Hag and de Ligt linking up again, with Sky Bet pricing the move at 8/1.
    Blues watching De Jong developments
Chelsea are watching transfer developments with Frenkie de Jong.
Manchester United are still favourites to sign the Barcelona midfielder but he has admirers at Stamford Bridge, according to The Guardian.
Meanwhile, deals for Nathan Ake and Raheem Sterling said to be “progressing” for the Blues.
Malacia medical ‘may happen this weekend’
Man Utd’s proposed offer to Tyrell Malacia includes a four-year contract with the option of a 5th.
And according to The Athletic, his medical may happen this weekend.
United are also trying to reach an agreement with Ajax for Lisandro Martinez while Frenkie de Jong and Chrsitian Eriksen remain linked.
    Suit and Ty
Manchester United have reportedly agreed a fee to sign Tyrell Malacia.
Accoring to reports, United, have agreed personal terms, waiting to sign the contracts.
Deal worth nearly £13m plus £1.7m in add-ons to Feyenoord.
Malacia will be new manager Erik ten Hag’s first signing at Old Trafford.
Fans at Old Trafford will be happy to see somebody through the door.

    Two minutes to go!
Lewis manages to better his time and puts himself just 0.027 behind Max.
Does the seven-time world champion have anything left in the tank?
    Verstappen does a 360!
The Red Bull driver lost control at turn 15 on a flying flap and his whole car done a 360 in the middle of the track.
The crowd gasped but the Dutchman showed why he is leading the championship as he got it under control and just continued like nothing happened.
It wasted his lap but he managed to put another one in and top the time sheets.
Hamilton clocks in just 0.254 behind and Russell is third.

The battle for pole gets underway!
Here we go. The time of the day we have all been waiting for.
The rain has stopped but it is still very wet out there.
Verstappen looks nailed on for pole position as it stands as the Dutchman had had a healthy lead at the top all afternoon.
But can Hamilton pull something out of the bag or at least hang onto P2 to have a chance of battling Max at the first corner tomorrow?
    Stay tuned!
    LATIFI IS IN Q3!
    You read that right.
The Canadian finds his way into Q3 and will have a chance to compete for pole.
However Gasly, Bottas, Tsunoda, Ricciardo and Ocon don’t do enough and are OUT!

    Sainz does enough!
The Ferrari man was loitering in the drop zone for a huge part of Q2 but he does enough to claw himself up to 4th with a  1:41.602.
As a result Alpha Tauri driver Pierre Gasly is in the drop zone.
Verstappen is still leading the way with Hamilton in second and Leclerc third.
    Five minutes to go!
The rain is still beating down on the track and drivers are really struggling to improve on their times.
However, Latifi may be getting a nose bled he is so far up on the time sheets.
He is currently tenth and is staring at the first Q3 of his career.
    Here’s the bottom five:
    11. Yuki Tsunoda
    12. Daniel Ricciardo
    13. Carlos Sainz
    14. Nicholas Latifi
    15. Esteban Ocon
Here we go, Q2 gets going!
The drivers are back out out there as the rain continues to pour down at Silverstone.
    Here’s who didn’t make it:
    16. Alex Albon (Williams)
    17. Kevin Magnussen (Haas)
    18. Sebastian Vettel (Aston Martin)
    19. Mick Schumacher (Haas)
    20. Lance Stroll (Aston Martin)
    Split celebrations at Williams
A huge shock down in the Williams garage as Nicholas Latifi makes it into Q2 at the expense of his teammate Alex Albon.
The former Red Bull driver was running upgrades on his car while Latifi was left with the old spec this weekend.
Albon comes onto the radio to share his frustrations at the news as it seems it did not go to plan.
However, the Canadian will be happy as he out qualifies his teammate for the first time this year and gets into Q2 by the skin of his teeth.
Heartbreak for Aston Martin and Haas
Both Aston Martin drivers Sebastian Vettel and Lance Stroll fail to get over the line quick enough and are dumped out.
Vettel comes onto the radio saying: “Not again, Not again!”
They’re joined by both Haas drivers Schumacher and Kevin Magnussen.
    Hamilton goes second!
The Mercedes driver pulls out a stonking lap in the wet to take second in Q1.
He is nearly half a second behind Verstappen who leads the way with a lap time of 1:39:975 but nevertheless Merc will be happy with that.
    Two minutes left
It’s nearly crunch time in Q1 and a few of the drivers need to get a move on if they want to make it through.
Both Aston Martin’s are in the red zone alongside Daniel Ricciardo, Yuki Tsunoda and Mick Schumacher.
    Verstappen leads the way
The defending champion has emerged from the mist to post the quickest lap so far in Q1.
Charles Leclerc is just 0.333 seconds behind while George Russell is over a second off the pace in third.
    And we’re underway!
Q1 has officially started and it is fair to say it is very WET.
The rain has arrived and fans are nearly blowing away with the wind also causing issues.
Let’s see which drivers sink or swim in these conditions.
    Dark clouds are looming
A weather radar shows rain should hit the track just as qauli starts in 10 minutes.
Fans are already bracing themselves by putting on their ponchos but the drivers and teams will need to make a decision on tyres.
Strap yourselves in. It could get really interesting.
    Round up of FP3
Hamilton was unable to follow up on his two second-placed finishes in the previous sessions as he ended up in P5 behind teammate George Russell.
Both Red Bulls lock out the first two spots but Verstappen will be confident of achieving pole later on with a huge 0.410 gap on his teammate.
Leclerc is third with fellow Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz in sixth but Lando Norris will be chuffed as he is not far too behind in his McLaren.
    Top five:

    Verstappen (RB)
    Perez (RB)
    Leclerc (Ferrari)
    Russell (Mercedes)
    Hamilton (Mercedes)

    Big Quali needed
Lewis Hamilton enjoyed a fruitful practice session yesterday, as he posted the second quickest time on the grid.
But today he settled back into fifth place, something he’s becoming more familiar with this season.
Can he spring a surprise in front of his adoring fans this afternoon at qualifying?
    Credit: AP
    Happy faces at Red Bull
Christian Horner and Sergio Perez looked like two happy men after FP3 at Silverstone.
    Verstappen and Perez were quickest.
And team boss Horner looks like he’s set for another big weekend in what will be HIS home race.

    Threat of rain
Reports are coming in that F1 qualifying at Silverstone could be threatened by rain a little later on.
Qualifying is set to get going for 3pm, but there may be delays of the heavens open up.
Verstappen topped proceedings at FP3, while rival Lewis Hamilton came 5th.
    FP3 is done!
That’s a wrap for practice at Silverstone.
    Quali starts at 3pm.
    10 minutes to go!
The Red Bull’s seems to be letting rip as Sergio Perez takes second stop with a belting lap.
However, Verstappen has now built a gap of nearly half a second over his rivals as he shows he is still a force to be reckoned with after staying quiet in the previous practice sessions.
    Here is your top five:

    Verstappen
    Perez (+0.410)
    Leclerc (+0.447)
    Russell (+0.525)
    Hamilton (0.587)

    Hollywood meets Silverstone
    Red pill or Blue pill?
Matrix movie star Keanu Reeves is a guest of Aston Martin and is in their garage watching on with a pair of headphones on.
And he seems to still be in character as he is dressed in black from head to toe with an eerie look about him.
Maybe he is beginning to believe?

    Hamilton goes second!
The Mercedes man betters his time and manages to get within just 0.199 of Verstappen.
If every team is really giving it their all right now, Mercedes will be purring in the pit lane.
This is the quickest they have been all season and if they can get Lewis on the front row in qualy they know he will have a chance of victory.
    Aston Martin say otherwise….
Weather reports seemed to be skewed all across the pit lane as Aston Martin have just told Sebastian Vettel they are not expecting any rain for the next 30 minutes.
I guess we will just have to wait and see.
Meanwhile, Red Bull’s Max Verstappen has just joined the party after going quickest with a time of 1:28:498.
    Showers incoming!
Brace yourselves it could be about to get very slippery out there.
A Ferrari engineer has just come on the radio to tell the drivers they are expecting a five-minute downpour soon.
The drivers will be getting in their hot laps now because a wet track at Silverstone is a whole different type of beast.

The Silverstone race got off to a dramatic start as Zhou Guanyu crashed as his car and it FLIPPED, almost skidding into fans.
George Russell, who also crashed, hopped straight out of his car and sprinted to help the the Chinese driver get out of his mangled vehicle.
The race has been red flagged as a result with Lewis Hamilton getting up to third place after starting fifth on the grid.
The crash was so bad Sky Sports refused to show it for around 25 minutes after the incident.
The halo appears to have saved Zhou’s life in hindsight, with the car skidding for hundreds of metres before flying over the barriers.
Over 125,000 are at today’s race, which has been sold out since January.

Betting offer: Get Lewis Hamilton at 60/1 to finish on the podium at Silverstone
Follow ALL the action with our live blog below…
Lap 20 – Hamilton closing on the Ferraris
The Mercedes man definitely has the need for speed round Silverstone.
He has just bettered his fastest lap and is just closed the gap to Leclerc to just 2 seconds.
Ferrari have told Sainz to speed up as Leclerc is screaming over the radio that he can go faster.
Can Hamilton somehow find a way to clinch the win here?
Lap 14 – “The car is 100% broken”
Oh no. After getting new tyres Verstappen now believes there is something wrong with the car and comes onto the radio screaming it is broken.
The team have checked the data and confirm it is bodywork damage on the rear.
They say it is not critical and he is safe to continue but will lose some performance.
A reminder. We are not even quarter of the way through the race yet.
Lap 11 – SAINZ RETAKES THE LEAD
Wow. What a race we have on our hands.
The Ferrari driver retakes the lead after Verstappen slows down before complaining of a puncture on the radio.
He dives into the pits and as a result comes out in P6.
Leclerc has taken second spot while Hamilton is third.
Lap 10 – Verstappen takes the lead!
The Red Bull driver was hunting down Sainz but did not need to battle for an overtake as a horror mistake from the handed him the lead.
The Spaniard goes wide at Beckets and runs over the grass leaving the door wide open for Verstappen to snatch the lead.
Meanwhile, Hamilton has just put in the fastest lap of the race.
Lap 6 – Hamilton bites back at Norris
The Mercedes driver manages to get past Norris and takes back P4 after a great overtake with the assistance of DRS.
He just has Leclerc ahead of him now who is nursing some damage following his overtake on Perez but has opted to stay out.
Perez however has been forced to pit for a new front wing and is now last.
    AND IT’S LIGHT OUT! (again)
    Let’s try this again.
Sainz and Verstappen go close at Turn One but the Ferrari driver manages to fend off the Red Bull this time and hangs onto the lead.
Leclerc snatches P3 from Perez but the overtake has seen the Mexican take some front wing damage.
Norris has also jumped up to 5th after getting past Hamilton who did not get the best of starts.

    Race restart confirmed
Now we know both drivers are okay the stewards have cleared the track and the cars off the track for a race restart.
Ferrari are confirm it will be a starting start after a lap behind the safety car.
It will be back to the original grid start after a whole lap was not completed before the red flag.
Here’s a reminder of how they will line up:

    Sainz
    Verstappen
    Leclerc Perez
    Hamilton
    Norris
    Alonso
    Latifi
    Gasly
    Bottas

Russell, Albon and Zhou are out of the race.
    Albon off to hospital
Williams have confirmed Albon is off to hospital for ‘precautionary checks’ following his shunt into the barrier.
We will keep you updated on his condition when we get them.

    Thank God for the fence!
Punter footage shows fans in the grandstand at Turn One scattering away as Zhou’s car is heading towards them.
Thankfully the fence does its job and catches the car mid flip.
Alfa Romeo have just confirmed to Zhou’s teammate Bottas that the Chinese driver is okay, talking and has no fractures.
Quite amazing considering the severity of the smash.

    Horrible crash!
Wow. Replays show two separate collisions caused the pile up.
Russell was squeezed by Gasly’s Alpha Tauri causing him to clip Zhou which led the Chinese driver to flip upside down and scrape along the floor before being upturned again by the gravel.
Zhou then flips over the barrier and slams into fence stopping him from going over the barrier and into the spectators.
His car is then lodged in between the fence and the barrier leaving him trapped inside before being rescued.
The second crash saw Sebastian Vettel bump into Albon pushing him into Tsunoda and Ocon causing the Williams driver to spin out in the barrier.
    Luckily, both drivers are okay.

FIA statement on Zhou and Albon
The FIA have released a statement confirming Zhou and Albon are both okay.
William’s driver Albon was sideways after turn one and slammed into the barrier.
Their statement reads: “Zhou and Albon have been taken to the medical centre. Both were conscious and will be evaluated at the medical centre.”
    PHEW! Zhou is okay.
Reports are coming in that the Chinese driver is fine and has managed to get out of his car.
The recovery team were quick to respond as the rest of the grid made their way to the pits.
His car somersaulted and landed upside down. That’s another drivers life saved thanks to the halo attached to the top of their cockpit.
The race is red flagged… unsurprisingly so given the contact.Alex Albon and Esteban Ocon are also out, while Yuki Tsunoda has heavy damage. pic.twitter.com/9oQDfKYZLB— Sky Sports F1 (@SkySportsF1) July 3, 2022

    Lap 1 – Red Flag
A massive crash between the mid runners sees the race red flagged as Russell, Zhou, Albon are all out of the race while Tsunoda and Ocon have damage and limp back to the pits.
Thoughts are with Chinese driver Zhou as his car flipped over and landed upside during the smash.
Russell jumped out of his Mercedes to ran over to his car to try and help the rookie.
The extraction team have been sent to try and get him out of the car. Hopefully he is okay.

    ITS LIGHTS OUT!
Verstappen gets away the quickest and beats Sainz into the first corner to take the lead.
Hamilton makes an amazing start and jumps up past Leclerc and Perez to take third.
But it is all happening behind him as there is a massive pile up and a few drivers have skirted off the track.
    Formation lap time
The grid has cleared and the drivers have just set out on their formation lap before the race to get their engines going and tyres warm.
Most drivers have opted for the soft tyres while George Russell has gone for the hards.
Stars all out on the grid before lights out!
From Hollywood actors to British rappers, the stars are all out on the grid before the start of the race.

    5 minutes away!

    Wet Silverstone? 🌧
Those clouds look ominous. Last year’s British GP was glorious. This one looks menacing.

    30-minute warning
We’re just half an hour away from the British Grand Prix.
Hamilton won it last year, but today he starts in fifth.
    Verstappen, in second, is favourite.
Sainz takes pole and is looking for his very first race win.
And as always, Charles Leclerc and George Russell will be looking to mop up any mistakes.

    Lando Norris EXCLUSIVE
SunSport’s Frankie Christou spoke to McLaren star Lando Norris earlier this week at Silverstone.
Norris told SunSport: “Taking up golf has helped me a lot.
“When you can go out there and it’s just you, the club and the ball you stop thinking about all the other problems.
“Because it’s so difficult, all you’re thinking about is your swing or where to place the ball to strive to be more perfect than last time.
“From a mental side it is absolutely helping me.
“It’s extremely different to F1 but the one thing it has in common is the constant strive for perfection.
“Golf teaches you to deal with frustration quickly, to put it behind you and driving is the same.”

    Russell wants to BEAT Hamilton
They’re team-mates, but really they’ll always be rivals.
George Russell has been speaking this week about wanting to beat his mate Lewis Hamilton in every race this season.
“Obviously, I want to beat my teammate and I’m not going to take offence if he says the same,” he says.
“But I would not see my season as a success purely because I’ve finished ahead of him more times than he had finished ahead of me.
“I would see it as a success if I was standing at the top step of the podium.”
    Lap of honour
The drivers are taking in the applause from the crowd at Silverstone as they get carted around in some old classics.

    Vettel x Mansell 🏎
What a moment for Vettel out on the Silverstone track today.

    Birthday boy
What a treat for four-time world champion and birthday boy Sebastian Vettel today.

    F1’s GOAT
He’s had it tough this season, but if there’s any track in the world where Hamilton can give his campaign a kickstart, it’s Silverstone.
He starts FIFTH on the grid today. But he’s been in worse positions than that and pulled off the unthinkable.

United transfer target De Jong proposes
Manchester United are favourites to sign midfielder Frenkie De Jong.
But he has admirers at Stamford Bridge, according to The Guardian.
As does fiancee Mikky Kiemeney, with the Barcelona star getting on one knee to propose in Utah this weekend.
Posting the snaps on social media, Kiemeney added: “I SAID YES!”

Man Utd ‘make £39m offer’ for Lisandro Martinez

    A fine career
Goram, 58, made 260 appearances for Rangers between 1991 and 1998. In that time, he won five league titles, three Scottish Cups and two League Cups.
After Rangers, he was to feature for Notts County, Sheffield United, Motherwell for three seasons, and Manchester United, where he helped the Red Devils claim the Premier League in 2001.
He is a member of the Scottish Football Hall of Fame, and was named both the Scottish PFA and Football Writers’ Player of the Year in 1992-93, arguably the strongest campaign in Rangers’ history.

    United £150k-a-week offer to Eriksen
Manchester United have reportedly agreed to offer Christian Eriksen a £150,000-per-week contract.

    Good morning Man Utd fans
Tyrell Malacia has agreed personal terms ahead of his proposed move to Manchester United, according to reports.
The left-back, 22, had been on the verge of a transfer to Lyon but United hijacked the deal on Tuesday.
And the Red Devils have acted quickly since to snap up Malacia and make him Erik ten Hag’s first signing as United boss.
The paperwork will be completed soon before Malacia is announced as a Red Devil, reports Fabrizio Romano.
United will pay Feyenoord a fee of £13million with an additional £1.7m in add-ons.
The transfer was conducted quickly until a late stall as a result of a change in Malacia’s agent.
The Holland international had been looked after by HCM Sports Management, who also represent United target Frenkie de Jong.
However, Malacia has made it clear he doesn’t want HCM to be a part of the deal.
Now the deal to sign Malacia is almost complete United could turn their attention to another Dutch target.
Frenkie de Jong remains a priority and there was progress in talks to sign him this week as Barcelona accepted an offer believed to be worth around £74m.
    Tielemans ‘should play for Arsenal’
It’s shocking Arsenal haven’t made a formal move for Leicester ace Youri Tielemans, according to Steve Nicol.
Nicol reckons Tielemans has outgrown the Foxes, and would make a ideal midfield partnership with Gunners star Thomas Partey in the place of Granit Xhaka.
Speaking to ESPN, he said: “I am surprised someone like Arsenal haven’t gone in to sign him. I think he ends up staying at Leicester City. I think he’s better than Leicester, to be honest.
“I think Arsenal should have gone and signed this guy. Granit Xhaka is a good Premier League player, but I don’t think he is good enough to push Arsenal into the top four or certainly challenge for any major competition.
“I think Tielemans and Thomas Partey would be a great partnership in the middle of the park. So, I am surprised there hasn’t been more talk of Tielemans, especially from an Arsenal point of view.”
Man United will hope Arsenal don’t take heed of Nicol’s advice as they also want the Belgium international.

Barcelona are odds-on favourites to sign Leeds winger Raphinha.
That’s according to bookmakers Sky Bet, who’ve priced the Spanish heavyweights at 1/2 to clinch the Brazilian’s signature.
Chelsea looked certain to secure his services having agreed a £55m deal plus add-ons with Leeds.
But he’s now drifted out to 13/8 to arrive at Stamford Bridge before the transfer window closes.
A stay at Leeds is available at 18/1, with Arsenal and Newcastle offered at 20/1 and 25/1 respectively.
Manchester United are major outsiders, coming in at 40/1.

Silva’s side have all but agreed a deal worth around £7million for the 22-year-old but have not yet fully completed.
Sources close to the player believe that all aspects are ready to go on the deal and that they are just awaiting the final seal from Fulham.
As the newly promoted side delay, however, Nice are trying to muscle in.
The Ligue 1 side, owned by British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe, have offered a bigger fee to Shakthar and a larger wage to Solomon than that on offer from West London.
Solomon, however, would still prefer a switch to the Premier League but is beginning to consider other options should Fulham continue to delay.

“But we never know. He can decide where he can go. But you never know the future.
“I don’t want to talk a lot about that because when we speak about Cristiano it is quite different.
“I think he has one more year on his contract, so whatever he decides, let’s see.”
    Brentford eye ex-United flop
Brentford are plotting a swoop for ex-Manchester United flop Vanja Milinkovic-Savic.
The goalkeeper moved to Old Trafford back in 2014 from Serbian club Vojvodina.
He then suffered work permit issues that prevented him from making an appearance for the club.
And that led to his departure from United just a year later having failed to make any impact.
Now TuttoSport claims that Brentford are lining up a bid to give the now Torino stopper a second shot at the Premier League.
    Chelsea face Raphinha coup
Chelsea are fighting Barcelona’s 11th-hour attempt to sign Raphinha.
Blues owner Todd Boehly looked like he had bagged the Brazil winger after agreeing a £55million deal with Leeds.
But having seen off interest from rivals Arsenal, Boehly now faces the threat of losing out to Barcelona.
Raphinha’s agent Deco, who played for both Barca and Chelsea, was spotted at the Spanish giants’ offices on Wednesday in a last-ditch attempt to engineer a move.

But it’s understood the Light Blues remain favourites with the frontman clear Ibrox is his favoured destination if a deal can be agreed with the Greeks.
We revealed Gers had made an improved £2m offer plus bonuses in a bid to prise Colak away from PAOK’s Dutch pre-season camp.

    Chelsea get De Ligt boost
Chelsea have received a major boost in their pursuit of Matthijs de Ligt after Juventus’ CEO hinted that the star wants to leave.
uventus chief Maurizio Arrivabene has appeared to have bolstered their hopes of landing De Ligt – saying they will be happy to do business as long as their asking price is met.
He said: “It’s impossible to keep players when they want to leave the club – but all the three parties in the negotiations have to be satisfied.”
    Good Morning football fans.
Man Utd are looking to hijack Arsenal’s bid to land Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez.
The Gunners have put in a third offer for the Argentine centre-back – after being told their previous bid of £34million was not enough.
But United have now registered their interest to the Dutch giants and asked to be kept informed of developments.
Erik ten Hag was planning to switch his attention to his forward line now deals for Frenkie de Jong and Tyrrell Malacia have been set up.
However the Red Devils were concerned that the 24-year-old Martinez would be heading for North London unless they made their interest known quickly.
Martinez has set his heart on a move to the Premier League – although the Dutch giants will demand around £43m to think about letting him leave.
Meanwhile, Romelu Lukaku is back in Italy ahead of his return to Inter Milan and has proudly posed with a club scarf.
The 29-year-old will link up with the San Siro outfit for a second time just a year after he re-joined Chelsea in a club-record £97.5million deal.
But he failed to hit the heights expected of him at Stamford Bridge, with Thomas Tuchel deeming him surplus to requirements.
And Inter have been quick to secure his services with the Serie A giants agreeing a £6.9m season-long loan deal with the Blues.
    More on Martinez
Arsenal’s opening bid of £26m was rejected – as was their second which was £8m higher.
Their latest offer is a similar downpayment but with more add-ons – so that may not be enough to tempt Ajax to do business.
They are now likely to wait to see if a firm offer comes in for Lisandro Martinez from United.
He had previously indicated he was happy to join Arsenal but the prospect of re-uniting with his former boss Ten Hag at Old Trafford may change his mind.
It would be a blow for Mikel Arteta who has also seen Chelsea move in for another of his key targets, Raphinha, in recent days.
Spanish giants Barcelona are also in the race for the Brazilian who is rated at around £60m by his current club Leeds.
Meanwhile United are happy with the way their move for Malacia is progressing – despite a late bid from Lyon to turn his head back towards them.
He is expected to move to the North West and provide competition for Luke Shaw next season.

Martinez has set his heart on a move to the Premier League – although the Dutch giants will demand around £43m to think about letting him leave.

    Everton in talks for Winks
Everton are likely to sign Harry Winks regardless of where Richarlison‘s future lies, according to Givemesport.
The Brazilian international is being strongly linked with a move to Tottenham, with a potential swap deal involving Winks under consideration, but Jones is confident the midfielder will end up linking up with ex-teammate Dele Alli, no matter what happens with Richarlison.
According to Sky Sports’ Michael Bridge, Spurs and Everton are in talks over Winks, although the north Londoners are pushing for a permanent transfer, while the Toffees are seeking a loan deal with an option to buy.
Winks has already been told to find a new club by Tottenham and has been valued at around £20m.
Meanwhile, the same outlet state that Spurs are interested in Richarlison and Anthony Gordon, as Conte hopes to provide squad depth ahead of the club’s return to the Champions League next term.

    Koul runnings
Kalidou Koulibaly has reportedly emerged as a potential target for Chelsea.
It has been claimed that the Senegal international has been added to Thomas Tuchel’s shortlist in his quest to bolster his backline.
The Blues boss is desperate for reinforcements in defence after Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen departed as free agents.
Chelsea have been linked with a host of players, with the club reportedly having a £34million offer plus either Timo Werner or Christian Pulisic for Matthijs de Ligt rejected by Juventus.
They are also understood to be keen on bringing Manchester City’s Nathan Ake back to Stamford Bridge.
Meanwhile Sevilla star Jules Kounde remains of interest, however they face competition from Barcelona in the race to secure the Frenchman’s services.

    Tuchy subject
Romelu Lukaku did not enjoy a successful return to Chelsea and part of the reason for his failure was his strained relationship with Thomas Tuchel.
Lukaku, 29, first got on the wrong side of the German by publicly expressing his desire to return to Inter in a now infamous interview.
In the same interview Lukaku also criticised Tuchel’s style of play, suggesting it restricted him to too few chances in front of goal.
But Tuchel also irritated Lukaku with a jibe that poked fun at the striker’s relationship with his former manager Antonio Conte.
According to Goal’s Nizaar Kinsella, Lukaku was left unhappy with Tuchel’s wind-up.
Kinsella revealed: “To see him talk so highly of Inter [during the Sky Italia interview] was an insult to Chelsea fans. It broke the relationship with them.
“And there was another incident behind the scenes that wasn’t televised or anything like that.
“Someone told me that Lukaku and Tuchel were watching a Tottenham game and Tuchel said, ‘There’s your daddy’, about Antonio Conte.
“It was just a joke, but apparently, it didn’t go down very well with Lukaku.”

    ICYMI
PSG star Neymar has been informed by club chiefs he is no longer wanted at Parc des Princes, reports suggest.
That is according to RMC Sport, who claim PSG are keen to rebuild without the star forward ahead of this coming season.
The Brazil international has been linked with a summer exodus from Paris this summer with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United showing interest,
United, Chelsea and Newcastle would be the only realistic transfer options for Neymar if he does leave PSG, whom he joined for a world record £200million in 2017.
The Premier League trio are the only clubs with the financial might to meet the Parisians and the striker’s financial demands.

    Raph news
Raphinha’s agent was spotted at the Nou Camp less than 24 hours after Chelsea appeared to move into pole position to sign the Leeds winger.
The west Londoners dealt a hammer blow to Arsenal’s hopes of signing the Brazilian on Tuesday by tabling a bid north of £55million for his services.
A deal has yet to be reached and talks with the player’s agent – former Barcelona ace Deco – are set to take place later this week.
But Barca could be poised to land the winger after Deco was spotted at the Nou Camp with club chiefs Rafa Yuste, Mateu Alemany, Enric Masip and president Joan Laporta.
Spanish journalist Victor Navvaro captured footage of the group leaving the stadium and shared it on Twitter.

    Spurs ‘set to snag genius’
Tottenham are set to snap up the set-piece genius who help fire Italy to Euro 2020 glory.
Veteran coach Gianni Vio, 69, is in talks to join Antonio Conte’s backroom staff ahead of the new season as the Italian looks to improve Spurs’ threat from set pieces.
The ex-banker-turned-deadball boffin wrote a thesis on set pieces as part of his coaching badges and claims to have more than 4,000 routines up his sleeve.
Vio helped Roberto Mancini at Euro 2020 last year and has previously worked at AC Milan, Leeds and Brentford.
Of the big six, only Manchester United scored fewer goals from set pieces than Spurs’ eight last season, meaning it is an area Conte is desperate to improve as they bid to bridge the gap to Manchester City and Liverpool.
    Southampton ‘sign Man City starlet’
Southampton are on the verge of signing Man City starlet Romeo Lavia, according to reports.
The Saints were locked in battle with Leeds for the 18-year-old’s services.
But the Saint Mary’s outfit have emerged victorious in the transfer race, The Athletic reported.
City wanted to keep hold of Lavia and have the option to buy him back, the report adds.

    Dutch courage
Everton are leading the race to sign Tottenham star Steven Bergwijn, according to reports.
Spurs are believed to be open to selling the Netherlands international this summer amid interest from Everton and Ajax.
Bergwijn, 24, has also admitted that he is seeking a transfer as he looks to play regular football.
And it seems Everton have the upper hand as they are willing to offer Bergwijn more money than Ajax, report De Telegraaf.
The Toffees are reportedly ready to match Tottenham’s asking price too, believed to be in the region of £21million.
But Bergwijn is said to prefer a move to Ajax due to the Dutch champions being able to offer Champions League football.

    Rab race
Adrien Rabiot wants to leave Juventus to join a Premier League club this summer.
The Telegraph claim Rabiot wants to leave the Serie A heavyweights to join an English club playing Champions League football.
And Juventus have agreed to his requests and will look to offload him for between £13-17million this summer.
Betfair think Chelsea are the frontrunners at odds of 5/2.
Three other Champions League sides in Liverpool (5/1), Manchester City (8/1) and Tottenham (10/1) are next in the betting markets.
Italian publication Calciomercato claim Liverpool are hatching a plan to swap Adrien Rabiot and Naby Keita, who are both 27 with 12 months remaining on their current deals.
There’s a large jump to Europa League duo Manchester United and Arsenal, who are locked together at 20/1.

    Eye of the Hag-er
Erik Ten Hag is close to making Tyrell Malacia his first signing as Manchester United boss and he has liked the defender for some time.
United are reportedly set to hijack Lyon’s move for the Feyenoord star in a £14m deal.
And Ten Hag knows a lot about the left-back from his time as Ajax manager – when he first set eyes on the youngster.
Footage has emerged from a match between Feyenoord and Ajax when Malacia certainly caught the eye.
Ten Hag is seen saying in Dutch: “That kid at left-back is amazing.”
He also tells his assistant Michael Reiziger to take note of Malacia, possibly with a view to signing him in the future.

    Mad for you
Atletico Madrid are reportedly in talks with Arsenal over a transfer for Hector Bellerin.
Bellerin, 27, spent the season on loan at Real Betis and a move back to La Liga could be on the cards.
ElDesmarque report Atletico are “already negotiating” with the Gunners over the full-back, who has told the North London club of his desire to leave.
Bellerin knows “first-hand” of interest from the Madrid side and it is making him rethink his future.
He is “seduced” by the option of playing in the capital but Betis remains his preferred option after his successful 2021-22 campaign.
The Spain international impressed for his boyhood club where he helped the Seville outfit win the Copa del Rey, as well as finishing fifth.

    Luk at that
Inter Milan fans turned out in force to get a glimpse of the returning Romelu Lukaku.
Lukaku arrived in Milan for a medical today after Chelsea agreed a £6.9million fee to ship the 29-year-old out on loan.
And Lukaku grinned broadly as he waved to adoring fans from the window of the Italian Olympic Committee’s headquarters in Milan.
The Chelsea flop waved and gave a thumbs up to the crowd who had defied a warning from Inter Ultras NOT to welcome Lukaku back to the club.
Scorned Curva Nord fanatics urged fans not to “run and drool” after Lukaku following his return.
Instead they claimed he will have to earn their affection back with “humility and sweat”.

    Col me maybe
Southampton are considering a move for Chelsea youngster Levi Colwill as Ralph Hasenhuttl looks to continue his youth revolution.
The Saints have already snapped up two young players this summer in Gavin Bazunu – a goalkeeper from Manchester City – and 20-year-old defender Armel Bella-Kotchap, who arrived from German club Vfl Bochum.
And now Hasenhuttl wants to make another raid on Chelsea’s youth ranks.
The south coast side took three players from Cobham last summer with Tino Livramento and Dynel Simeu joining on permanent deals as well as Armando Broja spending last season on loan.
Now Colwill is in Southampton’s sights – with Premier League rivals Leicester City also tracking his progress.
The defender, 19, spent last season on loan with Championship side Huddersfield, who reached the play-off final where they lost to Nottingham Forest.
