    England 0-0 Germany
7, White looks to slip Mead in behind, but she doesn’t get enough on the ball.
England look right up for this early on.
    England 0-0 Germany
6, Bronze whips in a ball which Frohms has to deal with.
White lets the keeper know she’s there with a little budge inciting a shove back from the German. Good to see the pair making acquaintances.
    England 0-0 Germany
    4, Chance for White!
Bright is in strongly on Schuller and Kirby drives up field. She picks out White with a floated cross. The forward gets the power, but her header is straight at Frohms.
A bright start from England, though.
    England 0-0 Germany
2, Oberdoorf drives into the area, but England get a foot in and Kirby can come away with it.
The atmosphere is electric inside Wembley.
    KICK-OFF – England vs Germany
Referee Kateryna Monzul blows her whistle and we are underway!
    Here we go then!
Anthems complete, players in position, and on drives a remote control car carrying the ball, nearly taking out the referee on it’s way.
England are in their traditional white home shirt. Whilst Germany spot their away strip.
    National anthems
The players are on the pitch and lined up for the anthems.
Meanwhile, news has emerged of an injury to Alexandra Popp. Schuller will play in her place. That should shake things up.
    Captain’s words
As the pre-match show continues here at Wembley, let’s remind ourselves how far this team have already come.
England captain Leah Williamson spoke brilliantly yesterday:
I want tomorrow to be the start, to be a maker for the future… For every success we make, for every change of judgement or perception or the opening of the eyes of somebody with the potential to be the equal of her male counterpart, that can create a change in society.Leah Williamson, England captain
Heroes already, but imagine a trophy too!

England hoping to make goalscoring history
The Lionesses are one goal away from levelling Germany’s all-time goal record at a single tournament.
They are in good stead, too. The last four Euro finals have produced an average of 4.75 goals per game.
    Records on the line
This afternoon marks Germany’s ninth European Championship final appearance. They have won all previous eight, including a 6-2 thumping of England in 2006.
However, England boss Sarina Wiegman has never lost a Euro final as manager.
Somebody’s record will be broken today.
    The Premier League is watching
There have been countess messages of support on social media for the players. Manchester United’s David De Gea and England’s Harry Kane are among those to wish their luck.

The race for the golden boot
England’s Bethany Mead and Germany’s Alexandra Popp are tied at the top of the goalscoring charts, with six goals each.
Both players will be desperate to add to their tally this afternoon and lift the golden boot trophy.

    Royal support
Buckingham Palace played tribute to the efforts of the players during the changing of the guards this morning.

    A historic rivalry
England vs Germany. It almost rolls off the tongue, doesn’t it?
A rivalry that stretches back decades, and Germany manager Martina Voss-Tecklenburg has not played down the fixture:
England vs Germany electrifies football fans. There is such a tradition, a history… If we could have chosen a dream, we would have chosen England in this final, no one else.Martina Voss-Tecklenburg, Germany boss

Joint top-scorer, Alexandra Popp leads the line again this evening.

    One hour to go!

The hero of the quarter finals Ella Toone is among the substitutes this afternoon. She is joined by the ever dangerous Alessia Russo, who has four goals off the bench for England this tournament.
Greenwood, Carter, Hampton, England, Kelly, Parris, Roebuck, Russo, Scott, Stokes, Toone, Wubben-Moy
    England XI
    The teams are in!
And, as expected, Wiegman makes no changes to her winning formula.
Earps, Bronze, Bright, Williamson, Daly, Walsh, Stanway, Heamp, Mead, Kirby, White
    England by numbers
Sarina Wiegman is yet to lose since taking over as manager. Can she keep her unbeaten record intact this afternoon?

    Played: 19
    Won: 17
    Drawn: 2
    Lost: 0
    Scored: 104
    Conceded: 4

And in four of those matches, England hit double figures! Goalscoring machines.
    The journey to Wembley
With all the excitement of the match ahead, it is worth remembering how the players got here, if only to boast.
The Lionesses got their tournament underway with a narrow 1-0 victory over Norway before a resounding 8-0 demolition of Norway. Next up was Northern Ireland, who couldn’t stop Sarina Wiegman’s team running away with the group in a 5-0 win.
England then took on Spain, showing their metal in extra time before marching on to the semi-finals against Sweden. Four goals later, here we are.

    Full house
All 90,000 seats will be filled inside Wembley for this afternoon’s final with the majority taken by England supporters.
The tournament organisers announced earlier today that the final is going to be the most-attended women’s football match in history!
    No pressure, Lionesses.

It’s a grey day in North London this afternoon but the fans are bringing the colour.

    Welcome to England vs Germany
Good afternoon and welcome to Sunsport’s live coverage of the women’s Euro final.
It does not get bigger than this!
England will face off against Germany at 17:00 inside Wembley stadium to decide who will be crowned champions of Europe.
In the meantime, we’ll bring you all the build-up and team information as we prepare for kick-off.
Are you sitting comfortably? This promises to be a classic.

    50. Manchester United 0-0 Rayo Vallecano
    Well, well, well.
Amad Diallo does what Ronaldo couldn’t as he opens the scoring for Manchester United.
Diego Lopez saved the initial effort from the edge of the box, but spills it into the path of Amad, who smashed it home.
    48. Manchester United 1-0 Rayo Vallecano
Goal for Manchester United! Amad Diallo!
    46. Manchester United 0-0 Rayo Vallecano
We are back underway here at Old Trafford.
Amad Diallo has replaced Cristiano Ronaldo at half time, as the Portuguese strikers cameo comes to an end.
Half Time. Manchester United 0-0 Rayo Vallecano
It looks like Vallecano will be happy to go into this one at half time with the scoreline as it is.
0-0 is a fair result as it stands.
    42. Manchester United 0-0 Rayo Vallecano
Garnacho has been the outstanding performer in this one so far, as he drives down the left hand side and picks out Chong.
    But he fires over again…
    40. Manchester United 0-0 Rayo Vallecano
Vallecano have certainly held their own so far at Old Trafford.
United have definitely been the better team, but fair play to the team that would be considered underdogs here.
    38. Manchester United 0-0 Rayo Vallecano
Garnacho does really well down the left hand side once again.
He beats his man and keeps his balance before cutting it back, but the United attack breaks down.
    36. Manchester United 0-0 Rayo Vallecano
Martinez has dealt with everything that has come his way so far with the minimum of fuss.
It is early days but he already looks a solid signing for United.
    34. Manchester United 0-0 Rayo Vallecano
We’ve seen a few nice attacks so far from both teams, but we are yet to see a goal here.
Tom Heaton made the best save of the game inside 10 seconds.
    30. Manchester United 0-0 Rayo Vallecano
    So close for Eriksen!
Chong smashes a volley from outside the box, which is blocked, but then Eriksen bends an effort just wide of the left hand side.
So close from the Danish international.
    28. Manchester United 0-0 Rayo Vallecano
Ethan Laird is fouled as a red blanket of smoke emerges from the away end.
The Vallecano fans have let off a flare, of course.
    26. Manchester United 0-0 Rayo Vallecano
Vallecano are holding some good possession here, but eventually the flag goes up for offside.
    24. Manchester United 0-0 Rayo Vallecano
The ball falls to Falcao in the box and no one closes him down, but his shot on the half volley is blocked.
    22. Manchester United 0-0 Rayo Vallecano
The ball comes in at the near post towards Radamel Falcao, but Martinez does well to put it out for a corner.
Van de Beek then breaks on the counter attack, but he can’t find the pass across to Ronaldo.
There is a yellow card for Garner.
    20. Manchester United 0-0 Rayo Vallecano
United have been on top for the majority of this opening 20 minutes.
The keeper accidentally gives the ball straight to Tahith Chong, but he cannot beat his man and get a shot off.
    16. Manchester United 0-0 Rayo Vallecano
Garner loses the ball in the box, but Vallecano cannot make the most of it as the cut back in the box is cut out.
    14. Manchester United 0-0 Rayo Vallecano
Garner and Chong combine really well before finding Ronaldo, but the superstar is dispossessed.
Garnacho then creates a good chance for Chong who looks to find the corner, but it is a weak effort.
    12. Manchester United 0-0 Rayo Vallecano
Garnacho cuts in on his right foot and has a go from the edge of the box, but it is blocked.
He is some young player, is Garnacho.
    10. Manchester United 0-0 Rayo Vallecano
Varane’s pass is cut out and it falls to Falcao who looks to play a through ball but it is really well stopped by Garner who tracked back.
    8. Manchester United 0-0 Rayo Vallecano
Garnacho looks really bright for United early on, he loves to get the crowd on their feet.
    6. Manchester United 0-0 Rayo Vallecano
Martinez does really well to bring the ball down and play it out nicely from the back for United.
    4. Manchester United 0-0 Rayo Vallecano
Both teams have started sharply at Old Trafford.
Vallecano are going to be no easy win for United today and they are making it known.
    2. Manchester United 0-0 Rayo Vallecano
Garnacho looks to linkup with Eriksen and Ronaldo on the left hand side, but the ball is cut out.
    0. Manchester United 0-0 Rayo Vallecano
A long ball goes over the top and Tom Heaton is forced into a good save within ten seconds!
    Good save!
    The boys are out!
The players are out on the pitch and looking smart in that gorgeous Man United home shirt.
Kick off is coming to you in just two minutes!

F1 Hungarian Grand Prix LIVE RESULTS: Verstappen WINS with Lewis Hamilton in SECOND in thriller – reaction

DUTCH ace Max Verstappen performed the drive of the 2022 season after winning the Hungarian Grand Prix after starting tenth. And there was double joy for Mercedes with Lewis Hamilton and George Russell both finishing on the podium.
Red Bull driver Verstappen has extended his Championship lead to 80 points with his nearest rival Charles Leclerc coming home in sixth.
It was a disappointing performance from the Ferrari man who had been leading the race.
His team-mate Carlos Sainz finished in fourth, with Red Bull’s Sergio Perez in fifth.

    Ferrari left speaking double Dutch
In the post-race interviews the Ferrari team spoke about how they need to analyse the race and look at where they need to improve.
Partly they claimed that the choices were made to give their drivers the chance of lapping faster times but Leclerc was already doing that before his pit stop.
The changing to hard tyres really cost the Frenchman and left him languishing in sixth place at the end of the race.
Tactics cost Ferrari dear yet again
Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc will feel as though they have been let down today by their teams.
Some of the choices made were very questionable and obviously cost them as they finished fourth and sixth respectively.
The post-race interview with Carlos really showed how unhappy he was with some of the decisions made in Hungary today.
Verstappen with enviable lead in championship
You have to question whether Max Verstappen has things already sewn up in terms of the F1 season.
After today’s win, the Dutch driver could afford three DNF’s and still be top of the 2022 F1 standings.
It would be a huge ask of anyone to catch him now.
Dutch master takes control in Hungary
When he lined up on 10th place on the starting grid, it seemed that even for Max Verstappen it could be too much of an ask to win this race today.
If you told him he would also spin out on the track, even he would have questioned how high his finishing position would be.
Red Bull obviously gives you wings.

I’m spinning around, move outta my way…..
Controlling his car when it spun around 360 degrees, to continue and go onto to win the race, this was very well deserved.

    Hungarian Grand Prix results:

    Max Verstappen
    Lewis Hamilton
    George Russell
    Carlos Sainz
    Sergio Perez
    Charles Leclerc

Max Verstappen wins the Hungarian Grand Prix from 10th place on the starting grid, what a way to end the first half of the F1 season.
Max Verstappen wins the Hungarian Grand Prix!!
    Hungarian Grand Prix: Lap 70
The rain is starting to come down right now as Verstappen tries to tip-toe around the track on the last lap.
Hamilton has reduced the gap to under 8.5 seconds now.
If there was more than half a lap left, this would be a worrying time for Verstappen but his hard work seems to have got him the win.
    Hungarian Grand Prix: Lap 69
Bottas is forced to retire as his car comes to a stop just off the track.
Virtual safety car is in place now.
This adds another element to the race as it will extend the length of the race significantly and brings in the potential of seeing some rain.
Red Bull will need to consider their tactics to ensure Verstappen’s victory here.
    Credit: AP
    Hungarian Grand Prix: Lap 67
As we predicted Hamilton’s endeavours have taken some real toll on those tyres and Verstappen seems to have Hamilton covered.
He is currently 10.6 seconds ahead of Hamilton in second.
What a win this would be from tenth place on the grid.
    Hungarian Grand Prix: Lap 65
Hamilton takes over Russell on turn one.
Mercedes have second and third place as we stand.
If we were to see any rain now, it would probably be Hamilton’s only chance to challenge Verstappen on medium tyres.
    Hungarian Grand Prix: Lap 63
    Lewis Hamilton overtakes Carlos Sainz.
Mercedes have the chance to allow Hamilton to swap places with George Russell but they will be worried about allowing Sainz to sneak in ahead of Russell also.
It may be one step too far for Hamilton to challenge Verstappen as those tyres will have deteriorated considerably by then.
No team orders for Russell just yet.
    Hungarian Grand Prix: Lap 61
Lewis Hamilton continues to put in quick lap times with the soft tyres and lighter car with less fuel on board.
He is flying around the track and catching up with the front three.
Verstappen continues to hold onto first place ahead of George Russell in second place.
We are into the last 10 laps of the Hungarian Grand Prix.
    Credit: Reuters
    Hungarian Grand Prix: Lap 59
We are waiting for the moment where Hamilton manages to take Carlos Sainz and Russell is asked to step aside for him.
Hamilton is putting in some seriously fast laps since his pit.
Verstappen needs to manage those tyres well to win this race.
    Hungarian Grand Prix: Lap 57
Lewis Hamilton has put in the fastest lap of the day as he tries to catch Carlos Sainz in third place.
He is immediately beaten to that accolade by Russell and then beats his British compatriot’s time with his next lap.
Great driving here by the ex-world champion.
    Hungarian Grand Prix: Lap 55
There is potential that Max Verstappen could win this race from 10th place on the starting grid today.
What a fantastic drive that would be from the championship leader.
George Russell moves ahead of Leclerc into second place.
The message from the pit has gone out to Leclerc to ‘box, box!’
Those hard tyres are costing him dearly.
    Hungarian Grand Prix: Lap 53
Lewis Hamilton comes in for the inevitable pit stop and comes out on the soft compound tyre.
Verstappen is in the lead now.
Hamilton is now in fifth place behind Carlos Sainz.
    Credit: AFP
    Hungarian Grand Prix: Lap 51
As it stands the top five is as follows:

    Lewis Hamilton
    Max Verstappen
    Charles Leclerc
    George Russell
    Carlos Sainz

Russell is really putting some pressure on Leclerc for the podium places on his medium compound tyre.
    Hungarian Grand Prix: Lap 49
Sainz comes in for a pit stop as Lewis Hamilton takes the lead.
Hamilton will have to pit again as he has gone medium/medium on the tyre front so far.
He is currently 6.6 seconds ahead of Verstappen in second place.
    Hungarian Grand Prix: Lap 47
Verstappen moves into third place behind Lewis Hamilton.
Carlos Sainz leads the race but surely both he and Hamilton will have to pit again.
Leclerc seems to be struggling in the hard compound tyre.
He may find himself under pressure from George Russell now.
    Hungarian Grand Prix: Lap 45
Max Verstappen sets the fastest lap of the day as he puts some pressure on Leclerc.
The Dutch driver has done brilliantly to get back into this position after that spin.
Whether there is any damage to them that may hinder him later in the race, only time will tell.
    Credit: AFP
    Hungarian Grand Prix: Lap 43
It is all change at the top now.
Sainz leads the race with Lewis Hamilton in second place.
Leclerc is in third, Verstappen in fourth who had a mini spin on the corner.
He did well to keep control and recover but it has allowed Leclerc time to warm up those tyres.
    Hungarian Grand Prix: Lap 41
Big news as both Leclerc and Russell decide to pit.
More interestingly, with the Alpines struggling on the hard tyres, Ferrari have decided to ignore this and get Leclerc onto the hard compound tyres.
Meanwhile, George Russell sticks with the medium tyres.
Leclerc is struggling on the hard tyres already and is unable to get passed Max Verstappen.
    Hungarian Grand Prix: Lap 39
Lando Norris is the first driver to report that the course is getting very slippy.
This could make for a very interesting race.
Verstappen decides it is time to pit himself for the final time, which will put him behind Hamilton and Perez.
    Hungarian Grand Prix: Lap 37
With Verstappen in fourth place, this could be a huge race to win for Leclerc when it comes to the driver’s championship.
A few cars are coming off the course now, making us wonder whether the few spots of rain are making sections of the course greasy.
Race leader Leclerc is on the youngest tyres of the leading pack also.

    That’s all from us!
Thank you once again for tuning into SunSport’s coverage of Spurs vs Roma!
It was a great game, with Roma coming out on top in the end, after Ibanez scored a header from a corner in the first half.
Harry Kane scored a goal that was correctly ruled out for offside, and Spurs had two penalty shouts, that were not given.
Up next Spurs play Southampton on the opening day of the Premier League season, and Conte will hope for a better performance than what he got out Spurs tonight.
Have a great night ahead and thank you again for joining us!
Roma ran out victors on the night 1-0.Credit: AFP
    Spurs subdued…
Spurs will be disappointed with that performance tonight.
It was a good run out, and a good fitness test for many of Conte’s men, including Ivan Perisic who got 70 minutes in the tank.
But ultimately, they will be disappointed as they end their unbeaten run in pre-season.
They still had some good performers, as Harry Kane rarely lets his standards drop below a 7/10, but it was not good enough tonight.
Conte will be hoping for a better performance on the opening day against Southampton.
    Man of the match
Tonight’s SunSport man of the match goes to Roger Ibanez.
Not only did he score the winner, but he was excellent defensively for Mourinho’s side tonight.
Dybala played well, and Kane too, despite the latter having a goal disallowed for offside, which meant he didn’t get on the score sheet.
Who was YOUR man of the match tonight?

    Diligent Dybala.
Dybala was excellent on his Roma debut tonight.
He got the assist for Ibanez’s goal from the corner, and almost scored within a minute of being in a Roma shirt early on.
He came off as a substitute when Roma switched to a more defensive formation, but was excellent nonetheless.
He could be really dangerous in Serie A this season, and that combination with Zaniolo and Dybala looks to be a deadly one.
Dybala got a debut assist for Mourinho’s Roma.Credit: Getty
    Mighty Mourinho.
That was a great result for Roma, who secured a 1-0 win against Antonio Conte’s Tottenham.
It was an Ibanez header that won it for them from a corner, in a game where Spurs rarely threatened Rui Patricio’s goal.
Dybala, Ibanez, and Abraham were excellent.

Full Time. Tottenham Hotspur 0-1 Roma.
That’s full time here in Israel, as Jose Mourinho’s Roma run out 1-0 victors against the Lilywhites.
It is not a great end to pre-season for Spurs, as they lose their unbeaten streak in the last game.
    90+4. Tottenham Hotspur 0-1 Roma.
We are deep into added time here, as Spurs look to launch one last attack.
Emerson Royal nods it into the path of Kane, but the number 10 can’t quite reach it.
    90. Tottenham Hotspur 0-1 Roma.
Pellegrini is the next to go down, and the Italian is bleeding heavily after a challenge from Sessegnon.
    90. Tottenham Hotspur 0-1 Roma.
We are into added time and Zaniolo comes off for Roma as they see this one out.
    88. Tottenham Hotspur 0-1 Roma.
Kane has a go from the free kick, but he goes low and his shot hits the wall.
Spurs are really dominating as the game comes to a close, but they don’t seem to be able to score.
    86. Tottenham Hotspur 0-1 Roma.
It must be said Roma have been really good today, excellent defensively especially.
This Spurs attack has some of the best forwards in world football, and it will be a Mourinho masterclass is Roma can keep a clean sheet here.
But, Spurs have a free kick in a shooting position.
    86. Tottenham Hotspur 0-1 Roma.
Richarlison does really, really well there on the left hand side to beat three Roma defenders.
He is unfortunately crowded out just before he gets the shot off as Ibanez gets him with the slide tackle.
    84. Tottenham Hotspur 0-1 Roma.
Romero is involved in a bit of a scrap here.
This has been a really competitive one, and there will be a yellow card for Cristian Romero and Lorenzo Pellegrini.
    82. Tottenham Hotspur 0-1 Roma.
Roma take the free kick and launch it forwards, but it drops to the feet of Eric Dier, and Spurs will look to build an attack once more.
    80. Tottenham Hotspur 0-1 Roma.
Kane goes down in the penalty area, but the decision goes against him for a hand in the face of Ibanez.
    78. Tottenham Hotspur 0-1 Roma.
Spurs are really pushing to save this now with some good football.
But everyone knows how difficult it is to break down a Jose Mourinho team that are defending a lead…
    76. Tottenham Hotspur 0-1 Roma.
Ivan Perisic is making way here for Ryan Sessegnon.
He has done well today, but it looks like it is going to be a toss up for who starts the season against Southampton next weekend.
    74. Tottenham Hotspur 0-1 Roma.
We have a pitch invader on the pitch, who is looking to get a selfie with Harry Kane.
    74. Tottenham Hotspur 0-1 Roma.
Romero makes a brilliant tackle on Zaniolo at the death!
Abraham does so well to find the Italian forward in the box, and Romero slides in to dispossess him just before he gets the shot off.
    72. Tottenham Hotspur 0-1 Roma.
We have a second water break here, just over half way through the second half.
It is very hot in Israel, so it is important the players get their fluids on board.

It is a triple Brazilian sub for Spurs.
    63. Tottenham Hotspur 0-1 Roma.
Roma definitely have a more defensive look to their midfield after the introduction of Nemanja Matic.
They are holding possession well at the moment in the defensive third, and forcing Spurs to press.
    60. Tottenham Hotspur 0-1 Roma.
Spinazzola, is coming on for Roma, and it is Paulo Dybala who makes way.
Matic is coming on too, for the injured Zalewski.

As the national anthem rings out, the tension builds…..
Time to make your father proud
Erling Haaland follows in the footsteps of his father Alfie Haaland in pulling on the Man City top today.
While his career with the club was cut short due to a career-ending injury, his son will be hoping to make a name for himself amongst City fans.
Scoring today and leading Pep’s new look team to Community Shield success would be a great way to start his Man City career.

    City may pay the penalty….again
Liverpool’s victories in both the EFL Cup and FA Cup last season came from penalty shootout victories over Chelsea.
However, The Reds last two Community Shield defeats have come from 12 yards.

    Teams arrive at King Power
With less than an hour before kick off, the two teams arrive, cheered on by the fans who have made the trip.
A very different trip this year with bright lights of London not on offer for either side.
Liverpool did actually suffer a rare defeat here in the league last season, something which City will take confidence in knowing.

    Ox’s consistent injury woes
Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain has suffered yet another long term injury.
The Liverpool midfielder really has had a career plagued by injury and his luck does not seem to be changing anytime soon.
It does question his place in the Liverpool squad when he spends so much time out on the sidelines.
Form difficult to predict this early
Liverpool have won the Community Shield outright 10 times, sharing the honour on another 5 occasions.
Not since 2006 have The Reds got their hands on this particular piece of silverware.
City have won the trophy outright 6 times but have now lost more Community Shield matches than they have won.
    Silverware back at King Power
Leicester City are welcoming back a trophy that they housed in their trophy cabinet only very recently.
A late Iheanacho penalty decided the game with The Foxes winning by a slender 1-0 margin.
They would have hoped the return of the Community Shield would have been under different circumstances other than just hosting the game this time around.

    Lionesses impress Guardiola in tournament
Asked about the rescheduling of the fixture from Wembley due to Euro 2022, the Man City manager commented:
I think they deserve all the credit, football around the world how they rise and do incredibly good. They deserve what they are getting. Four years ago there was not media or following like this. It happens because they do incredible things with the way, the style. I saw in England and Germany the good football, I hope they can do a good final, it’s a big success for both nations. It’s an incredible scenario at Wembley, a full crowd, hopefully they can enjoy it. Congratulations, it’s so nice for England to arrive in a final.Pep GuardiolaMan City manager
    Different atmosphere for Community Shield
The 32,000 capacity King Power stadium will prevent many fans from attending today, compared to the 90,000 seater Wembley Stadium that usually hosts the game.
Both teams have been given a meagre 12,000 tickets for today’s match up.
It seems more and more in these showpiece games that the fans are forgotten by the powers that be.
    Fans looking after carbon footprint
Usually held at Wembley, the 100th Community Shield game has been moved to Leicester City’s stadium due to the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 final being scheduled to be played in London this weekend for some time now.
This will come as a relief to both sets of fans, eliminating the need for them travelling from North to South of the country to follow their team.
The fans will make a much shorter trip to Leicester for the game today.
Welcome to Liverpool vs Man City
The annual curtain-raiser to the Premier League season takes place today at the King Power Stadium with Liverpool and Man City locking horns for the chance to lift the Community Shield.
Liverpool will be without goalkeeper Alisson Becker for today’s game due to an abdominal problem, Klopp will be hoping he will return for the first game of the Premier League season next weekend.
Diogo Jota’s hamstring issue will keep him out while Kostas Tsimikas picked up a knock in training which will render him unavailable for the game.
Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain suffered a serious hamstring injury which will force a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
Calvin Ramsay and Caoimhin Kelleher have both been nursing physical injuries in pre-season, so Adrian will no doubt be called upon to deputise in goal.
Aymeric Laporte remains sidelined with a knee injury while new signing Kalvin Phillips is already becoming accustomed to a spot on the bench.
John Stones, Phil Foden and Ilkay Gundogan all missed City’s tour of the USA but will be available to Pep Guardiola today.
No reason was given by the club as to their omission from the pre-season tour but many sources point towards their covid vaccination status as the reason.

F1 Hungarian Grand Prix LIVE RESULTS: George Russell takes POLE, Vetterl OUT in Q1, Perez OUT in Q2

FORMULA ONE makes a speedy return this weekend as Max Verstappen aims to extend his lead in the Championship title race. However, the Red Bull Racer was forced to watch Charles Leclerc fresh from his horrific crash set the pace in FP2.
As for Lewis Hamilton, the seven-time champion struggled yet again and finished outside of the top ten at FP3.

    Big moment for Russell
Like most F1 drivers, George Russell was likely dreaming of his first pole and first win before he had even completed puberty.
Today he does the former with a brilliant lap, and becomes the 3rd driver this season to claim their first pole (following Perez in Saudi Arabia in March and Sainz at Silverstone at the beginning of this month).
The result also means Russell is the 105th polesitter in F1 history.

    Dream for Mercedes
Mercedes hadn’t been on pole all season but they’ve ended that now after a whopping lap from George Russell.
Given the fact that the Silver Arrows have had good race pace all season, there’s no reason they can’t win the race tomorrow with a bit of luck.
We could be in for another belting race in Hungary with Sainz and Leclerc directly behind Russell, Norris in 4th, Hamilton in 7th behind both Alpines and the two Red Bulls – including Championship leader Max Verstappen – needing to hustle their way to the front of the grid.
Punchy words from polesitter George Russell
“I’m over the moon, absolutely buzzing. Yesterday was probably our worst Friday of the season and then [today] the last lap was mega and the lap time just kept on coming.
“And then I came across the line saw we were P1.
“We need to look into it and see where [that pace] came from. We generally have good race pace and we’ll be absolutely going for it.”
    What a grid
So many stories on this grid after qualifying with so many drivers out of position

    What a Q3
In a dramatic Q3, George Russell has stuck it on pole but so much more happened.
Lewis Hamilton had a DRS issue and so had to pit instead of doing his final lap. He’ll start P7.
Max Verstappen’s Red Bull ran out of power, and he’ll start 10th, only a place ahead of his teammate.
The Ferraris of Sainz and Leclerc are 2nd and 3rd respectively, and Sainz will be wondering how he didn’t claim pole.
    Wow
    Incredible
For the first time in his Formula 1 career, George Russell is on pole! Who saw that coming??
    No power
Max Verstappen has reported having “no power” as he leaves for his outlap.
The race engineers are trying to help him fix it but this could be it for Verstappen. If he can’t get the car to start working again, he will qualify 7th at best.
    Q3 First Runs
Carlos Sainz is on provisional pole and incredibly George Russell has popped himself into p2 for the time being. Who would have predicted this as a top two?
Leclerc is 3rd after the first run, Hamilton 4th, Alonso 5th, Norris 6th, Verstappen only 7th after he made a mistake, Ocon 8th, Bottas 9th, Ricciardo 10th.
No cars on the track as they retire to the garage before having one final run to try and set their fastest time. Things looking very good for Sainz at the moment.
    The Fight for Pole
So in Q3 we have both Ferraris, both Mercedes, both McLarens, both Alpines, the one Red Bull of Max Verstappen and Valtteri Bottas and his Alfa Romeo.
So far this season Charles Leclerc has picked up the most poles by some distance, with Verstappen in second. Perez and Sainz both have one each.
Could we have a new polesitter today? Perhaps a man who has already gotten pole eight times at this track like Sir Lewis Hamilton?
    Q3 is now underway.
    End of Q2
Along with Perez, we’ve lost both Hasses, the Alfa Romeo of Zhou Guanyu and Lance Stroll’s Aston Martin.
Meanwhile, no since of a downpour of rain coming in Q3 despite reports of droplets hitting the track at the end of Q2.

    Sergio Perez is out!
The Red Bull driver has had a shocking qualifying session and hasn’t made it out of the bottom 5
There was some confusion over a deleted lap time which was then rescinded, but none of that matters now. Perez is set to start 11th tomorrow in a big blow to Red Bull.
This is the sixth consecutive year he has gone out at Q2 in Hungary.
    Rain alert
“Some drops of rain on the back straight”, Sergio Perez tells his race engineers on team radio.
No rain visible with the naked eye over the TV cameras at the moment, but that would make things very interesting in Q3 when the remaining 10 drivers fight for pole.
    5 mins to go
Alonso is currently second quickest, with Ocon 6th. Good pace showed by Alpine.
Hamilton and Russell are currently fighting their way from the drop zone, with the seven-times World Champion now 3rd fastest and his teammate Russell 5th fastest.
    Ferrari back on the pace
Ferrari look quick again on the first runs of Q2, as Leclerc and Sainz go 2nd and 3rd respectively.
But hold on a second – Lando Norris has just gone top of the time sheets on fresh tyres.
But he is quickly dispatched by Verstappen who is now quickest.
About 9 minutes to go in this session.
    Rain watch
The clouds appear to be getting lighter, and there is currently no sign of rain.
So as we begin Q2 we march on in dry conditions which the Mercedes team – who looked horrendous in the wet this morning – will be delighted with.
    Meanwhile, at the top
Very interesting as at the end of Q1 the two fastest cars are the Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton and George Russell.
Carlos Sainz is 3rd and Max Verstappen 4th.
At this stage these times don’t mean much, but it will be a boost of confidence for the Silver Arrows that they can fight for pole in about 30 minutes.
    End of Q1
Nicholas Latifi set a purple sector 1 (what is going on with him today?) but his next two sectors aren’t fast enough, and he qualifies 20th.
Gasly has had another shocking qualifying, continuing a theme this season, and he’ll start 19th.
On the week he announced his retirement, Vettel can only qualify 18th. Albon qualifies 17th, with Tsunoda 16th.
Lance Stoll has just survived and makes his way into Q2.
OUT: Tsunoda, Albon, Vettel, Gasly and Latifi
    Final push
The chequered flag has fallen, meaning that the next time the cars past the line they will be onto their final lap.
It’s make or break time, and the bottom 5 at the moment is Vettel, Latifi, Albon and Stroll and Tsunoda.
    Final stages
Laps times are improving rapidly, and virtually every team in the bottom 5 is finding huge improvements.
Zhou Guanyu, for example, had been in the bottom 5 but put in a lap so quick it propelled him into the top 5.
Fewer than 3 minutes before the chequered flag falls, and the falling lap times means that very few drivers are safe from the drop.
    Bottom 5 so far
Remember we lost the five slowest cars from Q1. So far the slowest five with 6 minutes to go is:
Zhou, Latifi, the Aston Martins of Stroll and Vettel and Mick Schumacher. But still a long way to go.
    Slow Ferraris
The famous Italian team have looked quick all weekend, but they were unconvincing on their first run around Hungary in Q1.
Sainz was only quick enough for p4, while Leclerc was only p10.
    11 minutes to go
Still a chunk of time to go but a clearer picture is emerging.
Gasly, Vettel and Tsunoda among the slowest so far of the cars that have set lap times.
Lando Norris looking quick again and he’s put his McLaren in P2 for now.
    Big guns out early
Often in Q1 you will see some of the faster cars just waiting in the garage until they get some more clear track.
But with the threat of rain lingering over this qualifying session, we’re seeing many of the fastest cars out early.
Red Bull’s Max Verstappen is quickest so far, followed by the Mercedes pair of Lewis Hamilton and George Russell, and then the other Red Bull of Sergio Perez.
The two Ferrari cars have just left the pit garage.
    Dark clouds
Look at the ominous clouds hanging over the Hungary circuit at the moment.
Surely we’ll see rain over the next hour…

    Ready to go
The green light at the end of the pit lane is about to go out and qualifying will soon get underway .
The track is fairly dry at the moment after the deluge of rain that we saw in the final practice session.
There could be some rain over the next hour which will help spice things up, but otherwise we expect one of the Ferraris or Max Verstappen to be on pole based on what we’ve seen so far this season.
    Here we go.

    That’s all from us!
Thank you once again for tuning into SunSport’s coverage of Manchester United vs Atletico Madrid!
Joao Felix stole the show late on with a dagger to the heart of Manchester United, in a game which United dominated for large parts.
There were some bright sparks in the United team, with Christian Eriksen making his debut and looking sharp, as well as good performances from Rashford and Malacia.
Fred, however, got sent off, as he received a second yellow for a late foul on Alvaro Morata.
Up next we have Spurs, as they face off against Jose Mourinho’s Roma in their pre-season friendly, which is sure to be a cracker!
Have a great day ahead and thank you again for joining us!
    Who’s up next?
Well it is not often we say this, but United are playing again tomorrow, against Rayo Vallecano.
Tomorrow’s opposition have ex-reds Falcao and Bebe in their squad, but it remains to be seen whether they will make the starting XI or not…
Someone who will be playing a part tomorrow is Cristiano Ronaldo, who will hopefully put on a show, as he returns to football with the red devils.
Meanwhile for Atletico, this was only the second game of their pre-season, and they will face Cadiz on the 4th of August.
    Man of the match
The SunSport man of the match today was Joao Felix.
There was a host of brilliant players, including Malacia, Maguire, Kondogbia, Rashford, Eriksen and Elanga among others.
But ultimately it was Felix who made the difference, and scored the winning goal.
Who was your man of the match?

    Eriksen had a brilliant debut.
Christian Eriksen was fantastic on his debut for Manchester United today, as he played some beautiful passes and created good chances.
He played a wonderful ball as soon as he entered the pitch, and Marcus Rashford and Anthony Elanga were so close to getting on the end of it.
He then whipped a corner into Harry Maguire, who should have scored the header, but it went just wide of the post.

    Brilliant Joao Felix.
Joao Felix was the man who changed the game today.
He was utterly brilliant when he came on, with some wonderful first touches, and ultimately that beautiful goal to snatch the game late on.
What a player he is, and it would be incredible to see him in a team that is a bit more attacking in terms of play style.
    Another game of two halves.
Well it was almost the same story as we saw against Villa last week.
United dominated the first half, and looked very good in the beginning of the second half too.
They missed a number of chances, through Rashford, Elanga, Maguire and Fernandes.
But then when Madrid made nine changes, they seemed to start to control the game.
And ultimately they made United pay, as Joao Felix smashed home at the death, with a goal that truly showed his class.
United dominated the first half, but ultimately lost the game.Credit: Getty
Full Time. Manchester United 0-1 Atletico Madrid.
That is all for this one in Oslo, as Manchester United were beaten for the first time in pre-season by Atletico Madrid.
The goal came courtesy of a late Joao Felix strike, which was really well taken by the young Portuguese hitman.
90+2. Manchester United 0-1 Atletico Madrid.
Pellistri makes way for Garner, in a United change.
    90. Manchester United 0-1 Atletico Madrid.
Fred gets a second yellow card, and is sent off.
    90. Manchester United 0-1 Atletico Madrid.
United are appealing for a handball by Reinildo, but it is not given.
We have another bust-up now, as Fred puts in a harsh tackle on the Spaniard who reacts with a push.
Fred could be in trouble here, who is already on a yellow.
    88. Manchester United 0-1 Atletico Madrid.
Well that is typical Atletico Madrid.
That is harsh on United, but really good center forward play from Alvaro Morata.
He finds Felix, who cuts in on his right foot and smashes the ball into the bottom left corner.
    Quality from Felix.
    86. Manchester United 0-1 Atletico Madrid.
    Goal! Joao Felix is clinical!
    85. Manchester United 0-0 Atletico Madrid.
Yellow card for Saul, for a foul on Pellistri.
    84. Manchester United 0-0 Atletico Madrid.
    That should be 1-0!
Rashford does well down the right hand side, gets a shot off that is deflected into the path of Pellistri.
The young Uruguayan just doesn’t have the composure to look up and find Bruno on his left and instead fires a shot at goal that is blocked.
    82. Manchester United 0-0 Atletico Madrid.
Erik Ten Hag will be happy with what he has seen from his players today, even if the score stays at 0-0.
Malacia, Rashford, Eriksen, Elanga and Maguire have all been excellent.
    80. Manchester United 0-0 Atletico Madrid.
10 minutes to go in this one, and it still looks United who are more likely to find a winner.
It remains to be seen whether or not we will get one.
    78. Manchester United 0-0 Atletico Madrid.
Eriksen almost finds Rashford with that wand of a right foot, but it is cut out by Reinildo.
    77. Manchester United 0-0 Atletico Madrid.
Facundo Pellistri is coming on for Manchester United, he will replace Anthony Elanga.
    75. Manchester United 0-0 Atletico Madrid.
Eriksen tries to clip a cross into the box, but Witsel clears it for a corner.
He whips the corner in beautifully too for Maguire who has a free header, but puts it wide.
    73. Manchester United 0-0 Atletico Madrid.
Griezmann whips a corner in from the left hand side, which is well struck on the volley by Saul, but De Gea makes the save.
    71. Manchester United 0-0 Atletico Madrid.
Malacia receives it on the left hand side, he has been brilliant today.
Eriksen then plays the best pass of the game towards Elanga, who can’t quite reach it with the header.
    69. Manchester United 0-0 Atletico Madrid.
    Eriksen arrives.
Him and Donny Van De Beek are on for Anthony Martial and McTominay…
    68. Manchester United 0-0 Atletico Madrid.
Joao Felix has looked good since coming on.
He takes a brilliant first touch, and smashes a cross into Saul, who fires over.
    66. Manchester United 0-0 Atletico Madrid.
Bruno is inches away from finding the perfect ball into Elanga, but it doesn’t quite reach him.
There is a warm applause as Eriksen is warming up, and looking likely to come on.
Eriksen is about to come on for Manchester United, after moving on from Brentford.Credit: Getty
    64. Manchester United 0-0 Atletico Madrid.
Morata is caught offside on the attack.
It’s good to see he has not changed…
