    Carlo Ancelotti reacts
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti praised his players after an impressive win over Mallorca.
Ancelotti told Movistar: “The problems have been foreseeable. They defended very well, they scored from set pieces, it took us a while to get into the game but we kept a cool head. We haven’t played fantastically, much better in the second half.
“I’ll take both of them [Eden Hazard and Rodrygo as false nines]. They have given something different. With Hazard we have had a position. [Federico] Valverde has given us depth and then Rodrygo”.
“He’s [Valverde] a great player, he plays midfielder, winger. He is closer to the goal and scores more, he has scored two and will score more. He is a fantastic athlete and a great player”

    Javier Aguirre reacts
Mallorca manager Javier Aguirre suggested his team payed for all the missed opportunities before Vinicius Junior’s goal.
Aguirre told Movistar: “They have scored two spectacular goals, the result is fair. We sin by passivity.
“It would have been nice, we had it but at these levels you can’t forgive. You can have two or three and you cannot forgive. Here we are, it’s the same league, but we fight at our level.
“We have to believe in ourselves more. When we dedicate ourselves to playing football, we can compete.
“We can fight every match, we give it our all, there is faith, we need to believe more in our possibilities”

    Rodrygo reacts
Real Madrid star Rodrygo stood out against Mallorca with a goal as well as assist and opened up on his stunning display.
The forward told Movistar: “We are very happy. A very difficult match in the first half. His [Vedat Muriqi] goal complicated us, then Valverde’s great goal and the second half, we were able to dominate better.
“I started on the right but then the coach told me to go further inside because I had more space. I’m happy with the assistance and the goal, I hope to continue like this.
“All of us who leave Santos have that attitude, that ability to face, fight, train to be better…”

    Good afternoon from Cadiz
Welcome to SunSport’s live coverage of the LaLiga clash between Cadiz and Barcelona at the Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla.
Barca manager Xavi will be without Sergi Roberto, who is sidelined with a muscular injury he sustained against Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League last week.
However, the Spanish tactician dismissed fears regarding Roberto’s fitness as he insisted that his injury is not serious.
The Blaugrana may be keeping one eye open on their upcoming Champions League clash with Bayern Munich, whom they are facing on Tuesday at the Allianz Arena.
Therefore, Xavi may rest a few of his big names, such as Bayern legend Robert Lewandowski and Ousmane Dembele.
Former Arsenal ace Hector Bellerin and ex-Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso were not involved against Plzen due to their late arrivals, but both have been named in Barcelona’s squad today.
Cadiz boss Sergio Gonzalez, on the other hand, will again be without Jon Ander Garrido as he is still nursing a knee injury.
Ruben Alcaraz remains a doubt but other than that the hosts seem to be in good shape for this big match.
Sergio is expected to make some changes today and could bring in former Arsenal ace Lucas Perez, Ruben Sobrino and Alex Fernandez

“I think it will be an interesting battle tomorrow.”
    Leclerc on getting pole
“It’s amazing, it wasn’t an easy qualifying. I knew there was potential in the car but I hadn’t put everything together.
“But happy with the (last) lap, I hope we can do just like in 2019 tomorrow.
“I took much more risks, I knew it was the last lap. I just went for it and it worked out.”
    Tomorrow’s grid
So considering all the penalties here’s how the front of the pack will look.
Pole sitter Leclerc will be joined by Russell on the front row, with Norris and Ricciardo directly behind them.
Gasly and Alonso will then take up the next row before Verstappen comes into play at P7 thanks to his five-place grid drop.
    Q3 RESULTS
    P1. LECLERC
    P2. VERSTAPPEN
    P3. SAINZ
    P4. PEREZ
    P5. HAMILTON
    P6. RUSSELL
    P7. NORRIS
    P8. RICCIARDO
    P9. GASLY
    P10. ALONSO
It’s pole for Leclerc at Monza
He sets an incredible 1:20.161 as the Tifosi go wild.
Verstappen goes second but is more than a tenth back.
    LECLERC GOES FASTEST
    Hamilton helping Russell
Hamilton once again gives Russell a toe as he uses an older set of softs, if he can beat Leclerc he will likely have pole.
But that will be no easy feat.
    Final runs underway
Alonso goes out early to avoid any traffic.
    The other drivers soon follow.
    Now or never.
    Russell struggling
Russell is struggling with his tyres at the minute.
He tells his team: “Tyres are nowhere, just sliding everywhere.”
    Sainz goes even quicker
Sainz really is flying at the moment, if not for the penalty he would probably be a good bet to start tomorrow’s race on pole.
He sets a 1:20.584, with Leclerc directly behind in P2.
    Crunch time
Here we go then, time to decide who gets pole for tomorrow’s race.
You would expect Leclerc due to the grid penalties around him, but Perez is more than capable of an upset.
Russell meanwhile could upset the apple cart if the other two are not at the top of their game.
    Q3 underway
    Alpine disappointed, De Vries impressive
Ocon and Alpine will doubtless be upset with that performance as the car has looked good enough for Q3 all weekend.
Meanwhile, De Vries lands a P13 in his debut qualifying session but will move up when other penalties higher up the grid are applied.
    Q2 ELIMINATIONS
    P11. OCON
    P12. BOTTAS
    P13. DE VRIES
    P14. ZHOU
    P15. TSUNODA
    De Vries locks up
De Vries’ quali is over after locking up going into Della Rogia (turn 3)
    Finals laps here we go
Both Ferrari’s and Red Bull’s appear to not be going out again.
    Three minutes left
McLaren are under threat of a double elimination at the moment.
It’s a far cry from the 1-2 finish they had last year.
    Sainz smashes into the 1:20s
Sainz benefits from a double toe from the two Mercedes and smashes in two fastest sectors before setting a time of 1:20.878
He leads from Leclerc, Verstappen, Perez, Hamilton and Russell.
    Upset on the cards?
Mercedes have looked quite weak around this track so far, and while they will in all likelihood still get into Q3 with both cars, they are vulnerable to McLaren and Alpine.
The straight-line speed of the W13 doesn’t compete with many on the grid.
It has among the worst drag of any car on the grid this year.
    Q2 underway
    Q1 bottom five
It’s another poor session for Aston Martin as both drivers are eliminated from Q1.
Haas suffer the same fate with their early gamble not paying off.
William’s Latifi joins them meaning he has been beaten by De Vries who finishes P15 despite having a lap deleted.
    Vettel’s agony
Vettel must have thought he had put in a good lap that session, as he yells “No way” down his team radio.
Unfortunately, the Aston Martin just doesn’t look competitive this weekend.
    Q1 ELIMINATIONS
    P16. Latifi
    P17. Vettel
    P18. Stroll
    P19. Magnussen
    P20. Schumacher

Man Utd vs Real Sociedad LIVE: Latest updates from Europa League clash at Old Trafford

MANCHESTER UNITED are returning to European action TONIGHT against Real Sociedad – but its not a Champions League fixture. The Red Devils’ seventh place finish last season has resulted in them featuring in the 2022/23 Europa League campaign.
But they’ll believe that they can go all the way having already beaten the other favourites in this competition Arsenal on the weekend.
And Erik Ten Hag’s new methods seem to be clicking with the team as United have now won their last four consecutive games after such a dreadful start.
However, United need to get through their group first and stubborn Spanish outfit Real Sociedad could prove to be tricky customers.

    Kick-off: 8pm
    TV/live stream: BT Sport 1
Man Utd XI: De Gea, Dalot, Lindelof, Maguire, Malacia, Eriksen, Casemiro, Fred, Antony, Elanga, Ronaldo
Real Sociedad XI: Remiro, Gorosabel, Pacheco, Elustondo, Munoz, Mendez, Zubimendi, Merino, Kubo, D Silva, Umar

    That’s all from us
Thank you all for tuning in for our coverage of tonight’s game.
Premier League to announce fixture decision tomorrow
Premier League chiefs will decide on Friday whether to cancel this weekend’s fixtures following the death of The Queen.
But while there will be no order banning sport, it is thought likely League bosses will agree calling off matches is the right decision.
It comes after the EFL announced Friday’s fixtures would be postponed.
Friday’s racing programme, the second day of England’s final Test against South Africa, and the Premiership Cup match between Northampton and Saracens were also postponed.
    Other English results
Elsewhere in Europe tonight West Ham and Arsenal both won their respective games.
The Gunners ran out 2-1 winners against FC Zurich while David Moyes’ side pulled off a late comeback to win 3-1 against FCSB.
    Group E outlook
United may have lost tonight, but they will not be bottom of Group E.
This is due to the other result tonight seeing FC Sheriff – who beat Real Madrid and Inter in the Champions League last season – winning 3-0 against Omonia Nicosia.
The game is in the 10th minute of injury time.
Full-time: Manchester United 0-1 Real Sociedad
United fall to defeat for the first time ever against Real Sociedad.
It ends a run of four straight games where they had won.
However, the decision to award a penalty for handball was controversial at best and United paid dearly for it.
They had chances to score goals but lacked composure and quality in the final third on too many occasions.
It’s a big blow to United but one they will need to bounce back from quickly to avoid more poor results.
    Manchester United 0-1 Real Sociedad
    90. Ronaldo hits the wall with his free-kick.
    Three minutes added on now.
    Manchester United 0-1 Real Sociedad
    89. Free-kick for United just outside the area.
Ronaldo skips past one player and is then fouled.
He will step up to take the free-kick.
    Manchester United 0-1 Real Sociedad
    85. Another effort is squandered by Ronaldo.
More good play down the wing sees a cross eventually played into the area where Ronaldo meets the ball.
But a defender gets in the way again and thwarts the effort.
United pressing for an equaliser here.
    Manchester United 0-1 Real Sociedad
    81. Garnacho with some lovely wing-play down the left flank to drive United forward.
He gives the ball back to Fred, who whips a cross to the far post where players are queueing up.
It’s too high for Ronaldo but Sancho swings his leg at the ball and miscues his effort with the ball going out for a goal kick.
United make another sub a couple of minutes later too.
Charlie McNeil makes his debut for The Red Devils replacing Malacia.
    Manchester United 0-1 Real Sociedad
    77. Casemiro fires a venomous shot at goal.
The Brazilian works the goalkeeper from outside the area but goalkeeper Remiro is equal to it and pushes it away.
    Manchester United 0-1 Real Sociedad
    71. United make some more subs.
Sancho and youngster Garnacho are on for Antony and Elanga.
Ten Hag will be hoping they can provide an impact to turn this game back in United’s favour.
    Manchester United 0-1 Real Sociedad
    68. United have a handball appeal turned down amid some intense pressure on the Sociedad defence.
However the ref waves the appeal away, and in fairness it appears the ball did hit the defenders chest.
United are having some success getting into the half spaces though. 20 to go.
    Manchester United 0-1 Real Sociedad
    65. Casemiro slams a header into the ground from a set-piece and sees the ball bounce over the goalkeeper and just over the bar.
It was likely intended to be a hit back across to the far post but the header wasn’t directed well enough.
    Manchester United 0-1 Real Sociedad
    63. On another note that is the first time Sociedad have ever scored against United.
But De Gea has just been tested again by Take Kubo who has been having a great time this second half.
Mendez slots the ball into the right side of the goal
    58. It’s controversial, but United are now a goal behind and will need to react accordingly.
Silva has just been booked as well for a crunching challenge on Casemiro.
    Manchester United 0-1 Real Sociedad
    GOALLLL
Mendez converts into the bottom corner.
    PENALTY TO SOCIEDAD.
    57. The referee has deemed Martinez to have handled the ball.
However, the shot he blocked was deflected from his body onto his arm.
VAR have checked it and it stands.
Chance for the visitors to take the lead.
    Manchester United 0-0 Real Sociedad
    56. Great wing play from Socieded again from the exact same side.
Martinez manages to just about clear the ball with an outstretched leg.
    Manchester United 0-0 Real Sociedad
    53. Sorloth with a big chance.
Sorloth catches Martinez isolated at the back post and manages to outmuscle him at the back post and direct a header at goal.
But De Gea is left untroubled by the effort which goes over the bar.
    Manchester United 0-0 Real Sociedad
    48. Another effort from United, and once again Ronaldo is the final man.
Malacia plays a nice curved pass into Elanga’s path but the Englishman catches the ball under his feet.
However, he manages to play the ball to Ronaldo who fires at shot at goal from outside the area.
His effort goes sailing over the bar though.
    Manchester United 0-0 Real Sociedad
    46. Ronaldo close again.
United have come out the blocks quickly here and Fernandes is involved straight away.
He whips a cross into a dangerous area and Ronaldo is close to meeting it but once again his final contact lets him down.
Lindelof is now at right-back as well after Martinez’s introduction.
    Half-time subs
Former Crystal Palace striker Alexander Sorloth is set to come on for Sociedad, while Bruno Fernandes and Lisandro Martinez and coming on for United.
Eriksen and Dalot have been taken off.
Half-time: Manchester United 0-0 Real Sociedad
United with the better chances and control so far.
But the atmosphere and resultant intensity of the game is understandably a bit subdued.
Ronaldo had it in the net at one point but his goal was correctly ruled out for offside.
Elanga has been the most threatening player but he has lacked quality end product.
Meanwhile, Eriksen has been pulling the strings once again, while Antony has seen limited action once again.
    Manchester United 0-0 Real Sociedad
    38. Fred plays a poor pass back towards the goal and the ball is intercepted in front of Maguire.
Casemiro gets back to make a block after the captain held his ground to deny Umar Sadiq a clear run at goal.
United deal with the subsequent corner and win a foul on the edge of their area to nullify any prolonged threat.
    Manchester United 0-0 Real Sociedad
    36. UNITED GET THE BALL IN THE BACK OF THE NET, BUT THE GOAL IS RULED OUT FOR OFFSIDE.
Dalot whips a dangerous cross to the back post where Ronaldo climbs highest to head into the net despite the goalkeeper pushing it onto the bar.
However, the goal is ruled out for offside.
United need to keep this up – it is sure to pay dividends soon if they carry on with this pressure.

Mikel Arteta spoke yesterday on the test Zurich will pose his team and his strong selection for the travelling squad.
“We don’t have that many players available, unfortunately, with injuries we’ve picked up in the last two weeks.
“This is a competition that we want to take very seriously, against an opponent that is going to make life difficult for us.
“We want to start the competition the right way and maintain our momentum.
“The biggest danger is that, after the season they (Zurich) had last year, they haven’t got the results that they expected.
“You can see how willing they are to win football matches.
“This is a different competition, a different context and I expect a team that is going to be very ready tomorrow.” (Arsenal.com)
    FC ZURICH STARTING XI
Brecher, Boranijasevic, Kamberi, Kryeziu, Aliti, Dzemaili, Selnaes, Okita, Krasniqi, Guerrero, Tosin
    Arsenal subs bench

    The low down on Zurich
It will be the first time in their history the two sides have met, but Zurich could come with a few surprises too.
They have bounced back from relegation in 2017 to claim their 13th Swiss league title by an incredible 14-point margin.
Zurich beat Linfield and Hearts to book a spot in the Europa League after failing to beat Qarabag in Champions League qualifiers.
However, under new manager Franco Foda they are yet to taste victory in the league despite coming off of a dominant season.
    ARSENAL STARTING XI
Turner, Tomiyasu, Holding, Gabriel, Tierney, Lokonga, Xhaka, Vieira, Marquinhos, Martinelli, Nketiah
So seven changes from the last game.
    Arsenal team news
Expect a partially rotated starting xi from the one that lost 3-1 to Manchester United on Sunday.
Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny remain sidelined which means the midfield could remain the same.
However, Mikel Arteta has been handed a fresh injury blow after Emile Smith Rowe pulled up during the warm-down at Old Trafford.
Reiss Nelson is also out with a muscle injury.
The likes of Eddie Nketiah and Fabio Vieira could come in to give Arsenal’s starters a rest ahead of their clash against Everton on Sunday.
    GOOD EVENING EVERYONE
Welcome to SunSports coverage of Arsenal’s trip to FC Zurich.
The Gunners are making a long-awaited return to European football after missing out entirely last season.
Following a fifth-placed Premier League finish last season, this will be Arsenal’s fifth go at lifting the Europa League – a prize they were close to in 2019 as lost in the final.
The last time Arsenal went to Switzerland saw them leave as 4-1 victors against FC Basel in 2016.
However, while Arsenal are playing FC Zurich, the game will not be held there due to staging conflicts.
Instead, the game will be held 54 miles away at St Gallen’s Kybunpark.
We hope you stick with us and enjoy tonight’s coverage.

    Graham Potter joins Chelsea
Graham Potter has agreed a five-year deal to replace Thomas Tuchel as Chelsea boss.
The Blues moved quickly to replace Tuchel after making the call to axe him 100 days into the new ownership.
Brighton didn’t hesitate in allowing the West Londoners to speak to their now former manager and opening talks were held between Potter and Stamford Bridge chiefs on Wednesday.
After positive talks with co-owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali, Potter agreed to take the role on Wednesday night
    Gabriel Jesus pursuit ‘frustrated’ Tuchel
Thomas Tuchel was reportedly left frustrated over a failed move for Gabriel Jesus this summer.
The Athletic claims the ex-Chelsea boss was encouraged to sign Jesus from Man City by Todd Boehly.
But Tuchel rejected the idea before later changing his mind.
However, this time Boehly did not back Tuchel, who was left annoyed after Jesus made it clear he wanted to join Chelsea over Arsenal.
    Behdad Eghbali and Jose Feliciano
“Graham is a football innovator and winner on the pitch and a leader off the pitch.
“He has deeply impressed us with his ideas and approach to football.
“We are thrilled to partner with Graham to build a winning team, one that embodies the culture of collaboration, innovation, teamwork, player development, and a commitment to excellence on and off the pitch.
“We are fortunate to have Graham and his team as our partners in that journey.”
    Todd Boehly on Potter appointment
“We are thrilled to bring Graham to Chelsea. He is a proven coach and an innovator in the Premier League who fits our vision for the Club.
“Not only is he extremely talented on the pitch, he has skills and capabilities that extend beyond the pitch which will make Chelsea a more successful Club.

    Potter gets backing from Ralph
Ralph Hasenhuttl is backing Graham Potter to be a hit at Chelsea.
The Southampton boss said: “I must congratulate them for a very good choice.
“For me, he [Potter] is the manager in the last two years with the biggest impact in a club with all the limits they had.
“With all the transfers they gave away to other clubs, they’re still competing at the highest level. It shows how good this group is.
“He has all the experience. I think to step into a bigger club and show there that he can perform at the highest level.”
    Tuchel seen after Chelsea sacking
Thomas Tuchel has been pictured for the first time since he was sacked as Chelsea manager.
The German was dismissed as Blues boss on Wednesday morning despite pleading with the new owners to keep him on for longer.
And he took a stroll in the miserable weather on Thursday.
Tuchel looked glum in the rain as Chelsea prepare to announce Brighton’s Graham Potter as his successor.

    Brighton pals to join Potter
Graham Potter has reportedly demanded three members of his Brighton backroom staff to join him at Chelsea.
Potter wants recruitment analyst Kyle Macaulay to follow him to London, says TalkSport.
Macaulay has worked with Potter at Brighton, Swansea City and Ostersunds, offering his advice on transfer targets.
Potter also wants assistant coaches Billy Reid and Bjorn Hamburg to join him at his new team.
    Student Potter to boost Blues
Graham Potter is ready to win over the Chelsea dressing room… by using his Masters’ degree in Emotional Intelligence.
He said: “[My masters] was a leadership qualification and that seemed to be interesting to me.
“You simplify it, it’s just man management, building an environment, understanding how the environment can help you shape behaviour, how people act.
“It sounds quite common sense but it’s often not common practice and that’s the beauty of it.”
    Costa undergoing medical at Wolves
Former Chelsea star Diego Costa is on the brink of a Premier League return.
The Athletic reports he is currently undergoing a medical at Wolves ahead of a free transfer.
Costa’s work permit was initially turned by authorities after spending time playing in Brazil.
But Wolves’ appeal was successful and Costa could be involved in Saturday’s game at Liverpool.

    Lukaku’s Chelsea future remains unclear
Inter Milan director Giuseppe Marotta will talk with Chelsea about Romelu Lukaku’s future at the end of the season.
Speaking ahead of Graham Potter’s arrival as Thomas Tuchel’s successor, he said: “It’s fresh news. I don’t know what the effects will be.
“We absolutely want to get the best contribution out of Lukaku, and then at the end of the season we’ll sit down and discuss him with Chelsea.”
“I don’t know if a change of coaches means that his return is to be automatic, it’s difficult to predict today.”
Breaking – Chelsea reach Potter agreement
Chelsea have reached a verbal agreement for Graham Potter to become their new manager.
Fabrizio Romano claims contracts are now being drawn up after the Brighton boss struck a deal with Blues chiefs following talks this morning.
Potter will now become Thomas Tuchel’s replacement at Stamford Bridge.
And the move could be confirmed in the coming hours.

    Potter axes Brighton press conference
Graham Potter has CANCELLED his Brighton press conference that was scheduled for today.
The 47-year-old is currently in talks with Chelsea about taking over from the sacked Thomas Tuchel.
Potter had been due to address the media today ahead of Brighton’s trip to Bournemouth on Saturday.
But the scheduled press conference will no longer be going ahead, according to The Athletic.

    Good morning Chelsea fans
Thomas Tuchel has been sacked by Chelsea after their shock Champions League loss away to Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday.
According to the Telegraph, Tuchel lost the faith of both club owner Todd Boehly and his team.
The same source reports that his future at Stamford Bridge would have been in doubt even if they had claimed three points in Zagreb.
It has been said that firs- team coach Anthony Barry will likely take charge on an interim basis for the meantime as the Blues look for a full-time successor.
SunSport exclusively revealed Brighton boss Graham Potter is among the early frontrunners for the vacant position with talks already taking place.
Meanwhile, Mauricio Pochettino and Zinedine Zidane are also on the Blues’ shortlist, as well as Benfica manager Roger Schmidt.
Pochettino and Zidane have been out of work ever since they left Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid respectively.
Potter has travelled to London to speak to Chelsea about their vacant head coach position after Tuchel’s dismissal, reports SunSport’s Giacomo Pisa.
The Seagulls gave the 47-year-old permission to speak to Stamford Bridge chiefs.
The new Chelsea owners are keen to take the club in a new direction with a young and ambitious manager, rather thing hiring and firing big names like they did before.
SunSport understands they want a new head coach in place before Saturday’s West London derby against Fulham and are VERY confident that will be Potter.
Potter held positive talks with the Blues chiefs on Wednesday and is set for further discussions on Thursday ahead of agreeing a deal.
After initial talks, the top job at Stamford Bridge is Potter’s to lose and should a deal be struck quickly he could be on the touchline at Craven Cottage as early as this weekend.

    More from Ferdinand
Manchester United great Rio Ferdinand added about Thomas Tuchel: “Anybody who comes in now, you would think is a downgrade on Tuchel.
“Graham Potter has done a fantastic job and will be called by bigger clubs than Brighton. But would he take it?
“He has a clear identity but the question is would he be able to handle the experienced players?
“Tuchel is a proper manager. He is honest and direct. He has clarity on how he wants to play and I can’t understand it. It doesn’t make sense to me”
    Ferdinand on Tuchel
Manchester United hero Rio Ferdinand has blasted Chelsea’s decision to sack Thomas Tuchel and has warned whoever follows the German tactician will be a “downgrade”.
Ferdinand said on his FIVE YouTube channel: “He has a 60 per cent win rate, a lot of managers would be delighted to have that.
“It’s a giant statement from Todd Boehly and his new regime.”
Ferdinand added: “I interviewed him [Tuchel] last week, I went to Chelsea’s training ground last week, I’ve got a really good relationship with Thomas Tuchel.
“I said: ‘what’s it like with new ownership?’ He said: ‘It’s not worse, it’s not better, it’s just new.’
“Those are his comments. It obviously wasn’t perfect behind the scenes because he would’ve said ‘nah, it’s brilliant etc’ but he was very open and honest and that’s what I love about him”
    Mount of a task
Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has liked a tweet about Mason Mount’s contract situation, with negotiations expected to begin over a new deal.
Mount is currently tied down until 2024 at Stamford Bridge and it was reported that he is ready to discuss a potential extension.
Now Boehly has liked the tweet, an indication that the Blues will soon open a dialogue to complete a deal with the attacking midfielder

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel’s love live is said to have been centre of gossip in the dressing room.

    Up & at Em
Chelsea fans are desperate for Emma Hayes to be appointed as Thomas Tuchel’s replacement.
Hayes has been in charge of Chelsea Women for 10 years and has won 12 trophies during her reign.
Since the 45-year-old took over as Blues boss Chelsea’s men’s team has gone through nine different managers, with varying success.
BeIN Sports presenter Richard Keys led the calls for Hayes to take over, with several fans agreeing
    Ful steam ahead
Chelsea want to have Brighton boss Graham Potter in the dugout for Saturday’s west London derby against Fulham, reports SunSport’s Giacomo Pisa.
Potter held positive opening talks with the Blues chiefs on Wednesday and is set for further discussions on Thursday ahead of agreeing a deal.
The West Londoners are moving fast after axing Thomas Tuchel following a poor start to the season.

    Douglas Luiz to leave
Aston Villa ace and Chelsea summer target Douglas Luiz will leave Villa Park as a free agent next summer.
Luiz was chased by three top Premier League teams this summer after entering the final year of his contract.
The Blues were known to be keen before they eventually plumped for Juventus star Denis Zakaria on loan.
Liverpool also kept tabs on the midfielder until they pulled off a loan for Juve’s Arthur .
But it was Arsenal who led the charge for Luiz on transfer deadline day, having a £23million bid rejected by Villa.
But despite being happy to stay at the Midlands this term, UOL claim the Brazil international has already decided to leave Steven Gerrard’s side when his deal expires in 2023.
