Leboeuf calls for Potter to be sacked
Chelsea legend Frank Leboeuf has called for boss Graham Potter to be sacked after just four months at the helm.
The Blues were battered 4-0 by Manchester City in the FA Cup on Sunday.
After the game, Leboeuf said on ESPN: “Mr Potter, enough is enough now, something needs to be changed.
“That’s not the club I know. You are so far away from being a Champion of Europe.
“I’m very upset with what I see. I think it’s really disrespectful.
“They don’t do anything to at least make people proud. Fight! Go for it!”
The former defender, who played 201 times for the Blues between 1996 and 2001, claimed that he’d never seen his old side in a worse state.
He continued: “I’ve never seen Chelsea so low.
“The players don’t have the will, they don’t have the guts, they don’t have the courage to fight for their colours. They don’t have pride.”

    The Apprentice
Will the apprentice meet the master in the FA Cup fourth round? After disposing of Chelsea in a 4-0 thrashing – Man City will now face off against either Oxford United or Arsenal next.

With the two Premier League sides battling it out for league supremacy, it promises to be an intriguing encounter – should it happen.
But, Oxford United will have something to say about that on Monday night.
    Stevenage Coutinho taunt
Stevenage gambled by slating Aston Villa’s Philippe Coutinho on social media – minutes BEFORE their incredible last-gasp FA Cup giant- killing.
The League Two side taunted the ex-Liverpool and Barcelona playmaker online when he was taken off as Premier League Villa led 1-0.
Fans waded in to warn the “embarrassing tweet” could backfire – but instead Stevenage struck twice in the final three minutes to triumph 2-1.
The minnows had posted on their official account: “66′ – Philippe Coutinho comes off. The substitution took longer than usual as they had to dig him out of Luther James-Wildin’s back pocket.”
    Shearer slams Blues
Alan Shearer slammed Chelsea’s lack of character after their “embarrassing” first-half display at Manchester City.
The Blues trailed 3-0 at the break in the FA Cup third-round tie thanks to goals from Riyad Mahrez, Julian Alvarez and Phil Foden.
He said: “From a Chelsea point of view, that is not acceptable that performance.
“I said they needed some energy, character, all of those things.
“I don’t care how many injuries you’ve got in your team, you can still go out and put a shift in. They haven’t and it’s embarrassing from their point of view.
“Going forward it’s been so bad. They’ve been nothing short of pathetic in forward positions. Where’s the movement? They’ve had nothing up front at all. Everything has been sideways or even backwards.
“They’ve got to give the fans something now, show they care about this football club, because that 45 minutes was not acceptable.”
    Stewart tribute
Fans have been thrilled after spotting Karen Bardsley recreate Rod Stewart’s iconic FA Cup draw.
The former England goalkeeper was part of the FA Cup draw for the fourth round when she made the tribute to Stewart.

The singer and songwriter caught attention in 2017 during the Scottish Cup draw.
Stewart was over-enthusiastic when removing the balls from the pot and left fans in stitches.
And Bardsley had promised Steve Crossman and Nedum Onouha to pay tribute to the singer when it was her turn.
    FA Cup stat
This crazy FA Cup third round has seen eight Premier League teams knocked out ALREADY.
Liverpool and Woles are set to play each other again in a replay, so that will be make nine all together when something gives there.
And don’t forget Leeds still have to play Cardiff City again too.
So far, it’s the most since 2007-08 and joint highest since 1992.
    City fact
Julian Alvarez was on target for City against Chelsea in the 4-0 thumping of the Blues.
And now he has completed a phenomenal stat.
The Argie forward has now scored for Pep Guardiola’s side in the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, Champions League and Charity Shield.
    Amazing.
    City have done there bit
So, for all the purists, Man City have done their bit.
They have battered Chelsea 4-0 to set up a potential fourth round tie against Arsenal.
All the Gunners need to do is beat Oxford United on Monday.
Should be possible, but remember Arsenal slipped up against Nottingham Forest last season. Anything can happen in the cup.
    What a turn up
Forget what we said about Villa.
Incredibly, Stevenage equalised in the 88th minute and won it in the 90th minute.
    They will play Stoke City.
    What a massive result.
    Chelsea fans chant
It hasn’t been pretty watching for Chelsea fans in their game against City.
They trailed 3-0 at half-time in the first half, and are now 4-0 down.
Worse still, Blues fans are letting Potter know their thoughts.
They’ve been chanting: “We want super Tommy Tuchel” – their former sacked manager. Ouch.
    Villa lead
With Aston Villa leading Stevenage, it looks like they’re setting themselves up for a cold, wet day in Stoke.
    Still only 1-0, mind.
    Plenty of time to change.
    Looks like City v Arsenal
With Man City 3-0 up, it seems certain they’re through to next round.
Arsenal play Oxford United on Monday – and will be hot favourites.
First against second then in the fourth round.

    Oxford’s glamorous draw

HT Manchester City 3 Chelsea 0
Pep Guardiola’s side have been clinical in the first half as they have raced into a three-goal lead.
Surely they are through to the next round and will be awaiting the result of Arsenal’s clash with Oxford to find out their next opponent.
Chelsea will be hoping for some of that FA Cup magic to come their way if they are to get back into this.
    A historical fixture
West Ham will travel to Derby in the next round of the FA Cup, a fixture that has only happened in the competition once before.
That game took place a century ago, in 1923, in the Hammers’ run to the final at Wembley.
West Ham ran out 5-2 winners but eventually lost the final to Bolton Wanderers 2-0.
    Manchester City 3 Chelsea 0
    GOALLLL! Phil Foden.

While Burnley has appeared there once in the last five years.
    Manchester City 2 Chelsea 0
    GOALLLL!!!! Julian Alvarez.
The Argentine nets from the spot to put Manchester City in control.
Kepa got a touch to the ball but it was not enough to keep it out.
The penalty was given after VAR deemed Kai Havertz to have handled the ball in the box.
    Wrexham living the dream
Non-league side Wrexham will have the opportunity to reach the fifth round for the first time in 26 years when they take on Sheffield United at the Racecourse.
The two teams have faced each other once in the competition before, the Blades came out as 5-1 winners in the 1983/84 season.
    Manchester City 1 Chelsea 0
    GOALLLLLL!!!!! Mahrez.
Riyad Mahrez has fired Manchester City ahead at the Etihad Stadium with a beautiful free-kick.
More pressure on Chelsea boss Graham Potter.
    Seasiders battle
It is the seventh time Southampton have been drawn against Blackpool in the history of the competition.
The Premier League relegation battlers have won four of the six previous ties between the teams.
Blackpool were last in the 5th round 11 years ago, while the Saints have made that stage in each of the last two seasons.
    Spurs fans feeling confident
Tottenham supporters are counting their lucky stars after been draw against Preston North End in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Due to the draw pairing the winner of Chelsea and Manchester City against Arsenal or Oxford at least two of the favourites will be knocked out of the tournament.
One Spurs fan said: “We have luck of draw must take FA Cup seriously.
“Best hope of a trophy while Manchester City/Chelsea vs Oxford/Woolwich Arsenal.”
Ince set for Old Trafford return
Reading manager Paul Ince will be back at his old stomping ground following their fourth-round draw against Manchester United.

    Stand up and deliver
Graham Potter will leave The Etihad with his pride severely dented after the hiding they have received today.
They need to focus back on the Premier League and working towards getting back into those Champions League positions.
Despite being tenth in the table, the 10 point gap between themselves and fourth place is not unreachable.
Chelsea need to get back to winning ways and put a run of results together and they will see their league position improve.
    Algerian maestro gets just deserts
Riyad Mahrez got the man of the match award today and it was well deserved from the winger.
His free kick was pure sublime beauty and technical perfection but he constantly caused Chelsea problems down the right-hand side.
It will give Guardiola confidence that when asked to step up, his squad players duly deliver.

    Potter left scratching his head
At Brighton, chemistry and the bond between his players was something that allowed Graham Potter to get more out of his side than their abilities should maybe allow.
You cannot deny at Chelsea he far more quality at his disposal, but he cannot get these players to gel at all.
Some of them have been at the club for some time but still look like they have never met any of the players in the starting line-up before.
This may be the biggest task in his football career, to find a solution to the Chelsea problem.
    FT: Man City 4-0 Chelsea
As comfortable a performance as could be.
Pep Guardiola will be happy as his side produced everything he asked for today.
It may be a quiet bus ride back to London for Chelsea.

    FT: Man City 4-0 Chelsea
The referee brings the game to a close.
Rampant Man City progress to the fourth round.
They are making a habit of dumping the Londoners out of cups this season.
    Man City 4-0 Chelsea
    90. The Chelsea fans still sing from the visiting end.
Kudos to them after such a drubbing here.
Although it may be alcohol-induced pride.
The fourth official decides on two more minutes of Chelsea pain.
    Man City 4-0 Chelsea
    88. This has been a sterling performance by Man City.
Once they got their first goal, there was only one side in this game.
The lack of hunger in his Chelsea players should be a big concern for Graham Potter.
    Man City 4-0 Chelsea
    86. Rico Lewis comes on for Bernardo Silva.
Joao Cancelo receives a yellow card for a silly challenge.
    Chalobah was going nowhere then.
    Man City 4-0 Chelsea
    84. Mahrez sends the keeper the wrong way.
The ball goes into the roof of the net.
Icing on the top of the cake time for City.

Goal – Riyad Mahrez (Man City)
    Penalty to Man City
    Man City 3-0 Chelsea
    82. We now have a rendition of ‘Blue Moon’ from the home faithful.
You cannot begrudge them, their side’s performance has deserved it.
City are trying to manage the game now, passing it around, running the clock down.
    Man City 3-0 Chelsea
    80. We often see some crazy hairstyles on footballers but Chalobah’s latest offering looks like he’s fallen asleep at a house party and his friends have done it.
City are having to work harder to get the ball now.
Chelsea are actually offering something in terms of resistance.
    Man City 3-0 Chelsea
    78. In the last five minutes, Chelsea have created more than they have in the rest of the game.
    Some good movement and passing.
Zakiria shoots from outside the box but it deflects over the bar for a corner.
    Man City 3-0 Chelsea
    76. Chukwuemeka has come on for Mason Mount.
There seems a bit more spring in Chelsea’s step with the fresh legs brought on.
City are still trying to pass their way through the visitors.
    Man City 3-0 Chelsea
    74. Chelsea have a rare attack and the ball is worked to Hutchinson on the edge of the box.
It seems his effort is a shot at goal but it also disguises itself as a very dangerous ball across the six yard box.
Nothing comes of it but it does upset the Chelsea stats somewhat.
    Credit: Getty
    Man City 3-0 Chelsea
    72. City fans will be disappointed that they have not turned the screw on their opponents in this half.
They have still been dominant with Chelsea struggling to get the ball from them.
While in total control, Kepa has not been tested much if at all so far.
    Man City 3-0 Chelsea
    70. Fofana is trying to give the City defenders something to think about up front.
He is just having to chase down and put pressure on them when in possession of the ball.
Not the introduction to his new club he would have been hoping for.
Bernardo Silva is shown a yellow card for a trip on Gallagher.
    Man City 3-0 Chelsea
    68. The home fans try and lift things here.
They want to see more goals.
What is the point in having somebody on the ropes if you don’t plan on sending them crashing to the canvas.
    Man City 3-0 Chelsea
    66. City are trying to pick holes in this Chelsea defence.
Like a boxer exchanging jabs trying to work that knockout punch in.
    Chelsea are just chasing shadows.
    Credit: Getty
    Man City 3-0 Chelsea
    64. Gallagher is having to play a right wing-back position in this second half and he does not look comfortable.
Having received that yellow card, there could be another one to follow with him playing out of position.
    Evanesco Conor Gallagher.
    Potter may well say.
    Man City 3-0 Chelsea
    62. Chelsea are looking to make some changes themselves.
Cancelo is bodychecked by Gallagher is shown a yellow card for that challenge.
He does get a lot of silly booking the Chelsea midfielder.
Ziyech and Jorginho come off for Chelsea for Azpilicueta and Hutchinson.
    Man City 3-0 Chelsea
    60. Erling Haaland has just started to warm up on the touchline.
That really is like being a turkey catching Bernard Matthews grinning at you.
It might be time to start thinking about that trip down south for the travelling fans.
    Man City 3-0 Chelsea
    58. City bring on Kalvin Phillips and Joao Cancelo.
Rodri and Sergio Gomez are the players to make way.
Some fresh legs to cause the visitors some problems here.
    Credit: Reuters
    Man City 3-0 Chelsea
    56. In the three games they have played each other this season, City have scored six goals and conceded none.
I suppose you do need to have shots to stand any chance of registering any goals.
The visiting fans begin to sing from the away end but it just seems like the band playing on the Titanic as it sinks into the icy waters.

The Reds were held to a 2-2 draw at Anfield by Wolves, and the game will go to a third round replay.
However, Wolves believed they had snatched it late on with Toti Gomes flicking home.
The defender ripped his shirt off and wheeled away in celebration, pulling off a Thierry Henry-like kneeslide before being mobbed by his Wolves team-mates.
But after a lengthy VAR check, in which no camera angle showed a hint of an offside, the decision stood and the goal was chalked off.
VAR wasn’t the only thing that left fans furious.
Gomes somehow escaped a booking despite his “unsporting” celebration.

Pep Guardiola’s side came away from Stamford Bridge on Thursday with a 1-0 victory.

This is the third time these teams have faced each other this season, with City having a 100% record.

    Etihad ready for trilogy conclusion
This will be the third time these two teams have met this season.
Guardiola’s side have beaten The Blues in the EFL Cup 2-0 before recently winning in the Premier League 1-0 at Stamford Bridge.
The Spaniard will be looking to make it three wins on the spin against Graham Potter’s side today.

Guardiola looking to make it three in a row
Having dumped Chelsea out of the EFL Cup with a 2-0 victory, the pair have met in the Premier League since, with City winning 1-0.
The Spanish manager has a chance today to make it a trio of wins.
With the large quality at his disposal, he is expected to field a strong side today.
    Potter conjures up new signings
Chelsea have completed some early transfers in this window.
The signings of David Datro Fofana, Benoit Badiashile and Andrey Santos have all been finalised.
It is unlikely that any of the trio will be ready to feature today though.
    Youth with chance to shine
Up and coming starlets such as Carney Chukwuemeka, Omari Hutchinson and Lewis Hall could all have the opportunity to step in with Chelsea’s injury crisis.
They were forced to come on early in the league game against Man City.
The trio will get a rare chance to show what they are made of in the first team, something not usually given to young players at the West London outfit.
Welcome to Man City vs Chelsea
Man City welcome Chelsea to The Etihad this afternoon as the two giants lock horns for the second time in the space of four days, this time in the FA Cup third round.
City could be without only two players for today’s game in Aymeric Laporte and Ruben Dias, who are nursing back and hamstring issues respectively.
World Cup winner Julian Alvarez should be considered for some minutes in this game after his Qatar adventure.
Super subs Grealish and Mahrez could make a start, along with England midfielder Kalvin Phillips.
Guardiola may want to make the bulk of his changes for this week’s EFL Cup showdown with Southampton.
In contrast, Chelsea have no fewer than 10 players on the sidelines, although Graham Potter will be hoping some may be close to full fitness again.
It is unlikely that Mount, Sterling or Pulisic will be available for this game after picking up injuries against Man City in their recent league encounter.
The Blues remain without Reece James, Armando Broja and Edouard Mendy.
It remains to be seen if Wesley Fofana, Ben Chilwell and Ruben Loftus-Cheek can make their comebacks in this one.
Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang will be hoping for another chance after coming on for Sterling before being taken off again on Thursday.

MANCHESTER UNITED are through to the fourth round of the FA Cup thanks to a 2-1 win over Everton. The Red Devils went in front after four minutes thanks to Antony’s tap-in as Frank Lampard’s Toffees got off to the worst possible start.
But De Gea let a ball scramble through his legs for Conor Coady to tap in just minutes later.
However soon after the start of the second half, Coady had the ball in the net again, this time at the wrong end.
And Rashford made it 3-1 late on with a penalty.

    Games come thick and fast
United now face Charlton Athletic in the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup next week before facing Man City at Old Trafford in the Premier League.
Everton next face Southampton at Goodison Park in a game that has huge relevance to the bottom half of the table.
After that they travel to West Ham which could be a game of significant importance in their relegation fight, it remains to be seen if Frank Lampard will be in charge to visit his old stomping ground.
    Everton boss looking frankly worried
As Frank Lampard walked off the pitch, he applauded the Everton fans, as he does after every game.
Given the current climate, you cannot help but wonder whether he is saying goodbye to the fans.
There are two things we know about Farhad Moshiri, he has no patience for managers and has absolutely squandered around half a billion pounds in Merseyside.

Marcus is ‘man of the moment’
He is United’s top-goalscorer this season with 8 goals.
Play on the left-hand side of the front-three really does seem to be his best position and he is thriving.
Cutting in from the left onto his right foot is causing opponents problems and United are benefitting greatly.

    FT: Man Utd 3-1 Everton
The stats show that scoreline does fairly reflect the game tonight.
Despite Everton staying in this game for so long, United were dominant and deserve their victory.

    FT: Man Utd 3-1 Everton
The referee brings the game to a close.
That is seven wins in a row for ten Hag’s side in all competitions.
United are through to the fourth round.
    Man Utd 3-1 Everton
90+6. Rashford stutters his run up towards the ball.
This commits Pickford who goes one way, Rashford sends the ball the other.
Calm penalty from the man of the match.

90+4. Rashford is the Emirates player of the match.
Right on cue he bursts away on the break looking to get himself a goal.
Godfrey puts in a last-ditch challenge to win the ball well, at the expense of a corner.

    Man Utd 2-1 Everton
90+2. If United win this Marcus Rashford will no doubt get the man of the match award.
However, if The Toffees sneak an equaliser it will be surely Demari Gray who will be scooping that award.
This game is still hanging on a knife edge.
    Man Utd 2-1 Everton
    90. Rashford’s free kick is tipped over the bar by a full-stretch Pickford.
Never looked to be going in but may have clipped the top of the bar.
United come forward once again but the attack breaks down.
We are going to have six minutes of added time.
Man Utd 2-1 Everton – Onana yellow card
    88. Rashford does well again to win a corner with a direct run at the Everton defence.
The ball is cleared but comes straight back at Everton.
Onana is booked for a heavy challenge on Martinez.
Rashford and Fernandes stand over the free kick.
    Man Utd 2-1 Everton
    86. This could be a nervy end for the home support.
It is a game they have controlled in the majority.
The one-goal margin was always going to haunt them.

    Man Utd 2-1 Everton
    84. Eriksen and Antony are substituted.
They are replaced by McTominay and Maguire.
ten Hag is looking to shut up shop now.
Lampard’s bald spot is growing by the minute.
    Man Utd 2-1 Everton
    82. Seamus Coleman comes off for Anthony Gordon.
    Mykolenko is replaced by McNeil.
Seems the two players coming on will be playing wing backs for the team for the remainder of the game.
    Aggressive switch by Lampard.
    Man Utd 2-1 Everton
    80. This has been a good cup game this evening.
    Attacking threat from both sides.
United have dominated the game but their inability to see the game off has meant that Everton are only ever one counter-attack away from an equaliser.
    Man Utd 2-1 Everton
    78. Fred is having an argument with Coleman.
    Gray shepherds him away.
Everton seem to have more of an urgency in their game now.

    Man Utd 2-1 Everton
    76. United are knocking on the door again.
Malacia is penalised for a foul on Coady.
He is then subbed off for Lisandro Martinez.
That shows the mindset for the remainder of the game from the boss.
    Man Utd 2-1 Everton
    74. That was great play from Coleman and Gray.
Calvert-Lewin putting the ball in but the replay showed that Demari Gray was just offside.
United have been given a warning there.
    VAR disallows goal for offside
    Goal – Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Everton)
    Man Utd 2-1 Everton
    72. Casemiro and Martial depart the field for United.
Fred and Garnacho come on for the Red Devils.
Big twenty minutes for both sides here.
    Man Utd 2-1 Everton
    70. Dominic Calvert-Lewin comes on for Everton.
    He replaces Neal Maupay.
Plenty of time for the visitors to still find an equaliser.
Before the ‘sacked in the morning’ chants continue for Lampard.
Man Utd 2-1 Everton – Doucoure yellow card
    68. Rashford draws the foul from the Everton man.
He has made two fouls in as many minutes.
Referee deciding to calm things down with the introduction of a yellow card for the substitute.
    Credit: PA
    Man Utd 2-1 Everton
    66. United have a free kick in a dangerous position.
Eriksen lays the ball off to Fernandes in a central position.
He shoots at goal but it is straight at Pickford who tips it over the bar.
Teflon non stick at work again.

Gianluca Vialli dies: Latest as tributes pour in for Chelsea, Juventus and Italy legend – updates

GIANLUCA VIALLI has sadly died at the age of 58.The lovable former Juventus, Chelsea and Sampdoria star had been battling cancer for the last few years.
He also managed the Blues and Watford, before becoming Roberto Mancini’s assistant as they went on to win Euro 2020 just 18 months ago.
Vialli was one of the best strikers in Europe in the 1990s and won the Champions League with Juventus in 1996 before moving to West London.
Stay up to date for all the tributes on the Azzurri titan…
‘Vialli and Mancini ripped Serie A apart’
Brentford boss Thomas Frank revealed his shock at seeing the news of Gianluca Vialli’s death – and reflected on his outstanding career.
The former Sampdoria, Juventus and Chelsea legend passed away at the age of 58.
And ahead of Brentford’s FA Cup game against West Ham tomorrow, Thomas Frank said: “I was shocked when I saw the news this morning. I remember him as a player, first of all in that Sampdoria team up front with [Roberto] Mancini, ripping Serie A apart.
“[He was a ] fantastic striker in many senses, most likely one of the best ever in Italy. I never met him, but my sympathy and condolences go to his loved ones.”
    Bubbly Luca
Gianluca Vialli once treated his Chelsea players to a glass of fancy champagne – before they took on London rivals Arsenal.
The late Italian – who passed away today aged 58 – took charge of the Blues following Ruud Gullit’s sacking in 1998.
Vialli was given a baptism of fire with a League Cup semi-final second-leg clash with eventual Premier League winners Arsenal.
While most incoming managers rely on giving a Rocky-esque speech to motivate their new players for their match in charge, Vialli already had the respect and adoration of the troops as he spilled blood, sweat and tears with them on the pitch.
And in his first pre-match team talk, he showed the class he’d become renowned for in years to come by handing each player a glass of champers.
    ‘Truly magnificent footballer’
Gary Lineker has paid tribute to Gianluca Vialli via Twitter.
Lineker’s gave statement after Vialli’s death
    Moment of Silence
Chelsea Women held a moment of silence in training as a tribute to the late Gianluca Vialli.
