TOTTENHAM are OUT of the Champions League after losing 1-0 on aggregate to AC Milan. Spurs failed to fashion any real chances in their second leg clash at home, and Cristian Romero was sent off late for Antonio Conte’s side on a drab night.

That’s all we’ve got time for tonight.
It’ll be another trophyless season for Tottenham, and perhaps Harry Kane’s last.
But the captain will be desperate to regroup and help the team chase down a top four finish.
Antonio Conte also seems more likely to head for the exit door than not, however fans won’t be quite so worried about him leaving as their skipper.
Much better and more incisive performances are needed between now and May if Spurs are to have a prayer of playing in this competition next season.

As Conte arrives to speak to the press, the Spurs fans already know who they’d rather have in charge.
The name ‘Mauricio Pochettino’ rings around outside as the stadium as the supporters head off into the night.

The final straw?
As bad as the performance was, there was one moment that enraged the fans more than all others.
That was when Conte took Kulusevski off for centre-back Davinson Sanchez with the team needing a goal.
One tweeted: “Bringing on Sanchez for Kulusevski on 83 minutes just seemed a cheap jibe at the club and the fans. I’d be very surprised if Levy wasn’t on the phone to Pochettino right now.”
Another wrote: “When we needed a goal, just one goal #Conte decided to substitute Sanchez on for Kulusevski, we had Moura and Danjuma left on the bench……..
“Despite the performance, we still had a chance in that game, and I don’t see how he can possible justify that change.”
And another stated: “Sanchez for Kulusevski is definitely Conte’s Bergwijn for Moura moment. Can’t get my head around it”

Spurs legend Glenn Hoddlewas left fuming by Cristian Romero’s red card.
The ex-England boss said: “I’ve seen it so many times before. It’s almost ‘when’ it’s going to happen rather than ‘if’.”
Feeling the Blues
If nothing else, Spurs at least kept Olivier Giroud quiet.
But another ex-Chelsea star picked up the Man of the Match award.
Centre-back Fikayo Tomori put in an imperious display and never looked troubled by anything Kane and co threw at him.

Dressing down
Spurs remain locked in the dressing room after a completely underwhelming performance.
We should hopefully hear from Antonio Conte or one of the players soon.

A performance of virtually zero positives from Antonio Conte’s men.
No semblance of the high energy style that has made Spurs a success – first under Pochettino, then under Conte.
They were slow and ponderous in possession. No player took the initiative as the shackles remained firmly on.
Shots from the edge of the box seemed to be a big no-no as the team opted for the predictable overlap down the wing time and time again.
Son Heung-min, normally so good at running in behind, kept coming short into the middle where he was completely ineffective.
Harry Kane might have headed home a goal in stoppage time with Spurs only real chance, but it wouldn’t have been deserved.
Fandemonium
A few obscenities launched from a group of Spurs fans towards some very happy Italian journalists near me.
“What are you celebrating? You lot were s*** too,” said one.
It summed up the mood around the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium pretty well.

A fed up-looking Harry Kane is quickly down the tunnel.
Will this be the last time we see him play Champions League football for Tottenham?
Contrast that to the delighted Olivier Giroud who throws his shirt into the away end after coming out on the winning side against the England captain once again.

Nagelsmann tactical masterclass wins through
Knowing they had a one goal lead from the first leg, Julian Nagelsmann set his side out brilliantly today.
The first half tactics of being rough but fair in their challenges on Lionel Messi and giving him no time on the ball at all, really cut off the supply for Kylian Mbappe with Neymar absent.
When the opportunity presented itself, they came forward, looking to get that sucker-punch to really hurt the visitors.
Into the second half, where PSG had to through caution to wind more, Bayern picked them off and scored two goals to top off as very comfortable victory over the two legs.
Bayern Munich the team to avoid
When Julian Nagelsmann made his substitutions this evening, it really underpinned the depth of quality in this Bayern squad.
Bringing on the likes of Leroy Sane, Serge Gnabry and Sadio Mane from the bench is the sort of dilemma a team like PSG would now dream of.
The balance of power shifted this evening and it will take more than just changing the manager for something to change with the Paris outfit.
Constantly left wanting on the biggest stage, it is a case of déjà vu for the French.

Of all the players to prevent the visitors having a sniff of goal tonight, Dayot Upamecano put in a stellar performance.
Kylian Mbappe looked lively in the opening stages of the game but from that moment onwards the young French defender bossed him.

“Sometimes they have to feel it on the pitch. Obviously we have confidence in Kai. I wasn’t watching it but delighted when I heard the roar.
“Taking penalties is not for me, so I am in awe of anybody [who does].”
